Petite, Samuel.
de lamination particuli{è}re appell{é}e {\it sol{é}no{\"\i}de}. Localement, cet espace est le produit d'un
ensemble de Cantor par un ouvert du plan euclidien (resp. hyperbolique). Dans cette th{è}se, nous
{é}tudions principalement le comportement statistique des orbites de telles actions. Pour cela nous
caract{é}risons les mesures finies invariantes pour ces actions ainsi que les mesures harmoniques des
sol{é}no{\"\i}des associ{é}s. Il apparait des diff{é}rences fondamentales dans les techniques utilis{é}es entre
le cas euclidien et le cas hyperbolique. Nous donnons de plus, pour tout entier $r\geq 1$ des
exemples explicites de pavages du demi-plan hyperbolique dont le syst{è}me dynamique associ{é} est une
action libre et minimale poss{é}dant $r$ mesures finies invariantes et ergodiques.

Testo completoIn this thesis, we construct tilings of the real line and the hyperbolic half-plane using train-track maps of IWIP free group automorphisms. One the one hand, we use a substitution defined by P. Arnoux, V. Berthé, A. Siegel, A. Hilion coming from a train-track map of a IWIP free group automorphism to generate substitutive aperiodic tilings of the real line. We show, thanks to a theorem of J. Los about connectivity of train-track representatives of an IWIP automorphism, that the topological type of those tiling spaces is the same up to a choice of train-track representative. Thus we associate, up to an homeomorphism, a tiling space of the real line to a class of an IWIP outer automorphism of Fn, then we extend this result to a conjugacy class of an IWIP element in Out(Fn). On the other hand, we construct from elements of tiling spaces of the real line previously defined, a set of weakly aperiodic for the affine group tilings of the hyperbolic half-plane. We study topological et dynamical properties of the tiling space generated by those hyperbolic tilings. Finally, in the last section we endow tiling spaces previously constructed with a smooth structure thanks to their inverse limit structure
Testo completoIn this thesis, we study some properties of the sets of tilings generated by Wang tilesets that exhibit one or more directions of local determinism, focusing in particular on tilesets that are simultaneously deterministic in the four diagonal directions, referred to as 4-way deterministic. After having exposed an alternative construction of a 4-way deterministic aperiodic tileset, we study several decision problems on these objects and complete in particular Lukkarila’s result of undecidability of the Domino Problem in the 4-way deterministic setting proving the undecidability of the 4-way deterministic periodic Domino Problem. We also prove that some complex families of colorings of the plane such that those generated by substitutions remain sofic in the 4-way deterministic setting. We propose a bi-determinization of the constructions by Durand, Romashchenko and Shen of fixed-point tilesets and give some first applications. Finally, we investigate the idea of extending the radius of the local rule of determinism in order to reduce the set of directions of expansiveness and thus allow the local realization of non-trivial particles and collisions systems. We introduce a new and convenient syntactic model to deal with radius two and revisit some of Lukkarila’s problems in this setting

Testo completoIn this thesis, we consider first the optimal placement problem for the first Dirichlet Laplacian eingenvalue for plane domains with dihidral symetry, we then consider the same problem for the second eigenvalue of spherical shells. We solve the isoperimetric problem for plane domains who tile the plane by the action of a given lattice. Finally we study sufficient conditions for explosion in finite time for the solution of a non local parabolic problem as well as hyperbolic inequality

Testo completoSelf-assembly is the process in which the components of a system, whether molecules, polymers, or macroscopic particles, are organized into ordered structures as a result of local interactions between the components themselves, without exterior guidance. This thesis is devoted to the self-assembly of aperiodic tilings. Aperiodic tilings serve as a mathematical model for quasicrystals - crystals that do not have any translational symmetry. Because of the specific atomic arrangement of these crystals, the question of how they grow still remains open. Our aim is to develop a growth algorithm for a particular class of aperiodic tilings - octagonal tilings of finite type. In order to mimic the growth of real-world quasicrystals, we demand the algorithm be local: the tiles must be added one by one, using only the local information and no data must be stored between the steps. Simulations strongly support the evidence that this algorithm grows aperiodic tilings, up to an unavoidable but neglectable proportion of missing tiles
Simonet, Matthieu. "Mots de retours et pavages dans les plans sturmiens". Thesis, Grenoble, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012GRENM103.
Testo completoSturmian words are a way to encode aperiodic discrete lines. They have been studied since the end of the 19th century and can be characterized in many ways. One of these characterizations, obtained by Vuillon, centers around the notion of return words. This thesis aims to study 2-dimensional Sturmian words as encodings of aperiodic discrete planes. It is a first step towards a characterization of 2-dimensional Sturmian words analogous to that of Vuillon in dimension 1.However, concerns specific to dimension 2, such as the impossibility to concatenate words or the difficulty to locate a factor inside a word make the study much trickier. To tackle this, we introduce in dimension 2 notions of patterns, pointed patterns, localization words and return words. We obtain a 2-dimensional version of a theorem of Morse and Hedlund concerning certain return words in a Sturmian word. This result enables us to establish a new continued-fractions algorithm and to introduce, in a restricted setting, a notion of derived sequence
Vanneuville, Hugo. "Percolation dans le plan : dynamiques, pavages aléatoires et lignes nodales". Thesis, Lyon, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018LYSE1262/document.
Testo completoWe study three models of percolation in the plane: Bernoulli percolation, Voronoi percolation, and nodal lines percolation. Bernoulli percolation is often considered as the simplest model which admits a phase transition. Voronoi percolation is a Bernoulli percolation model in random environment. Nodal lines percolation is a level lines percolation model for smooth planar Gaussian fields. We have followed two main threads. The first one is the resarch of similarities between these models, having in mind that we expect that they admit the same scaling limit. We show for instance that the critical level for nodal lines percolation is the self-dual level (namely the zero level) if the Gaussian field is the Bargmann-Fock field, which is natural analytical field. The second main thread is the study of dynamics on these percolation models. We show in particular that if we sample a critical Voronoi percolation model and if we let each point move according to a long range stable Lévy process, then there exist exceptional times with an unbounded cluster
Khalesi, Ali. "Multi-User Linearly-Decomposable Distributed Computing". Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024SORUS146.
Testo completoIn this thesis, we explore the problem of multi-user linearly-decomposable distributed computing, where N servers help compute the desired functions (jobs) of K users, and where each desired function can be written as a linear combination of up to L (generally non-linear) subtasks (or sub-functions). Each server computes some of the subtasks, communicates a function of its computed outputs to some of the users, and then each user collects its received data to recover its desired function. We explore the computation, communication, and function reconstruction accuracy relationship by modeling the problem in finite fields and real numbers. We have established a firm theoretical bridge between multi-user linearly decomposable distributed computing and perfect or covering codes in finite fields. In the real field, it is shown that the communication, computation, and function reconstruction accuracy of this problem is related to the sparse matrix factorization and tessellation literature

Testo completoFor every odd positive integer d, we construct a fundamental domain for the action on the 2d+1-dimensional space of certain groups of affine transformations which are free, nonabelian, act properly discontinuously and have linear part Zariski-dense in SO(d+1,d). Next for every semisimple noncompact real Lie group G, we construct a group of affine transformations of its Lie algebra g which is free, nonabelian, acts properly discontinuously and has linear part Zariski-dense in Ad G. Finally, we give some results about the local behavior of harmonic functions on the Sierpinski triangle restricted to a side of the triangle

Testo completoThe study of the emergence of knowledges in teaching situations not finalized by a prefabricated and pre-thought knowledge requires an upheaval of point of view, epistemological as well as didactic. For the study of learning situations in which the problem is the essence, we develop a new historical approach and we rethink the tools for didactic analyzes. We propose, then, for a particular problem, exploration of Archimedean tilings of the plane, a historical inquiry centered on the activity of the scientist in the process of research and on the influence of the relationship with objects. From this perspective, the study of Johannes Kepler’s work in search of a world harmony is particularly instructive. We also propose, for the analysis of the emerging knowledge in teaching situations, to use tools related to semiotics, which allows to highlight the dynamic of evolution of mathematical objects. We can finally conclude on the opportunity to build and implement “Didactic Situations of Problem Solving”, which ensure the commitment of the subject in the research, the emergence and development of mathematical objects, the genesis of knowledges. The study reinforces the necessity of a pragmatic approach of situations and the relevance of a different look at the knowledge at school
