A paramedic or health care provider is a health professional that provides rapid response, emergency medical assessment, treatment and care to critically ill patients1. The word Paramedic is a combination of two words; para means "along the side of" and medic means "physician", so a paramedic works as an extender of the physician. He works under the direct supervision of a medical expert and is considered a “delegated practitioner”. Paramedical service is crucial for the effective running of the modern health care system and is the lifeline of the health sector2. Paramedics are trained, equipped and required to give emergency services not just in form of first aids, but may also include medical attention that may not warrant taking the patients to the hospital3. Over the past decade, paramedic scope of practice and clinical responsibilities has expanded significantly. Advanced clinical interventions previously carried out by physicians such as ultrasound, thoracotomy and endotracheal intubation are now becoming part of the health care professional. This concentrated experience in the use of highly technical, mechanical and electronic equipment and their availability to the patient make such personnel indispensable as assistants to physicians4. The dynamic nature of paramedics in terms of clinical practice demands continuous recognition and evaluation of the literature. Active research is essential for the translation of evidence into practice and education and is an integral part of the modern paramedic programs offered within higher education institutions. Thus there is an urgent need to launch a peer review journal in the field of paramedics that will publish high standard scientific articles and will be available to researchers and institutes. The scope of this journal includes both basic and clinical research including original articles, reviews, clinical case presentations and case reports. It aims to contribute to a better understanding of the disease and provide a reference for health professionals and researchers.

Paramedical care not only saves lives in emergencies but also acts as an essential for preventive healthcare, public health education, and community resilience. Abstract The profession of paramedic is a recent profession functioning in Poland since 1992. Over those 27 years the training, the role and responsibilities given to paramedics have undergone many changes. Initially, paramedics were trained in two-year colleges (post-secondary schools) and were not qualified to administer medical emergency treatment (medical rescue procedures) at the place of accidents. At present, they are educated at universities and are qualified to apply emergency medical treatment by themselves, inter alia to ensure the safe transport of the injured person in a life-threatening emergency, provide mental support to the injured, and carry out health education and promotion. Moreover, they are the core personnel of the State Medical Rescue System (PRM). The goal of the study was to present the history of the establishment of paramedical profession and its current role and responsibilities in the PRM.

Case Detection Rate of pulmonary Tuberculosis in Magelang District still low. The purpose of this research is to gain characteristics and practices of Public Health Center on case finding of pulmonary tuberculosis in Magelang District in terms of aspects of age, gender, level of education, level of knowledge, length of employment, perception of workload, training history, contact tracing, counseling, networking and practical cases of laboratory officer. This research is a descriptive study. The population is all Pulmonary tuberculosis programs officers in 29 Public Health Center in Magelang District. The total samples are 87 officers, consist of 29 P2TB officers, 29 laboratory officers, 29 medics and paramedics. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Median of age of P2TB officers is 44 years, mean of medics and paramedics is 39.2 years, and median of laboratory officer is 30 years. Most of respondents are female and background in college-level education. Mean of the length of working for P2TB officer is 9.7 years, median for laboratory officer is 4 years, and median for medical officer and paramedics are 4 years. 79.3% of P2TB officers and 93.1% of medical officers and paramedical had a training history of < 2 training. The level of knowledge of P2TB officer 51.7% in poor category. Contact tracing of P2TB officer 41.4% in poor category. Counseling of P2TB officers 41.4% in poor category. The entire laboratory officer practice fixation and staining in both categories. Networking cases of medical and paramedical staff 51.7% in poor category. Perception workload of medical and paramedical officer 51.7% in weight category. Suggestions for Magelang District health department is that the department should expand networking case by cooperating with private practice doctors and give a priority for officers who have been trained yet to be included in the training on Tuberculosis.

The papillomaviridae viral family includes HPV. When it comes to female sexually transmitted diseases, the genital tract is the primary site of infection for genital type HPVs, which are further divided into high- and low-risk subgroups depending on the likelihood that they will cause cancer of the genital tract. High-risk HPV strains 16 and 18 cause cervical cancer. Sexual contact or skin-to-skin contact is the primary mode of transmission of HPV. To assess the degree of Practice among a sample of paramedical workers concerning the Human Papillomavirus and Cervical Cancer. Five hospitals and 25 primary health care centers in the Al-Najaf governorate were studied in this cross-sectional observational descriptive cross-sectional research. Starting on December 19th, 2021 and concluding on April 18th, 2022, data was gathered for four months. According to the results of the present research, which included (five hundred) Paramedical employees aged 20-59 years, the age group with the largest proportion (66.4%) was that of 20-29 years. Whereas, in terms of gender, the largest proportion of women (64.6 percent). Almost all paramedics work in urban areas. In addition, almost half of the participants came from medical institutions, accounting for 51.6 percent of the total, while just 2.4 percent were graduates of secondary schools. Only 2.4% of the paramedical staff had any kind of education or training on HPV or cervical cancer. Excellent practice evaluations for the Human Papillomavirus and cervical cancer were much higher among paramedical providers (79 percent). Most of the paramedics who were evaluated for their practices addressing cervical cancer and the human papillomavirus (HPV) received good grades. Health authorities, social groupings, and non-governmental organizations should work together to communicate information about the human papillomavirus and cervical cancer to the general population. In order to educate and sensitize medical professionals about HPV screening technologies and the most current screening and treatment guidelines, conduct educational initiatives.

Introduction: Ultrasonography (US), performed in the Emergency Department (ED) by Emergency Physicians, is well established. Educational studies have shown some promise in training paramedics in US use. We have developed and piloted a novel curriculum for paramedic US education. Methods: Based on an informal needs assessment, an US curriculum for paramedics was developed to include: Basic principles, Focused assessment with sonography for trauma (FAST), cardiac, and vascular access. Participants included ED-based and pre-hospital paramedics including all paramedics with critical care training who routinely perform vascular access and procedural sedation within our ED. Comparisons were made using paired non-parametric tests (GraphPad). Results: Participants (N=9) were provided pre- reading materials prior to completing a 6-hour course, consisting of a mix of didactic and practical sessions with live models and vascular access phantoms. Each module was introduced with a 30 minute didactic session, led by an Emergency Physician trained in US, followed immediately by a 1 hour hands-on session lead by either an Emergency Physician or an Emergency Medicine Resident at a learner to instructor ratio of 3:1. At the end of the course, participants were asked to complete a short 10 minute survey that included (1) an assessment of the course quality with regard to preparatory material and course content/delivery (4 point Likert scale; excellent, good, fair, poor); (2) self reported US knowledge pre and post course on a scale of 1-10 (10 high, 1 low); (3) general yes/no questions related to the future of ECCU paramedical and (4) a subjective written section for additional comments. All participants rated the content favourably: 97% scoring it as excellent, and 3% as good. The participants median self-reported US knowledge score increased from 2/10 (IQR 2-3) to 8/10 (IQR 7.25-8; p=0.009) post- course. All comments from the text field were positive in nature. Conclusion: We report a paramedic US course curriculum, which when piloted resulted in high learner satisfaction and a high rate of self reported improvement in US knowledge. Further study will include an assessment of knowledge acquisition and practical performance. Future modifications in our curriculum will be based on needs assessment and may include additional modules.

It is considered to be a significant threat for the mankind in both developing and developed countries. The best way to prevent dengue endemic is to provide knowledge about dengue and preventive measures to people. This study aimed to assess knowledge, attitude and practice regarding dengue fever and effectiveness of health education programme Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive cross sectional study. The sample was selected by using random sampling technique. For the present study, sample of 200 paramedical staff of Bilawal medical college was taken to survey the research objectives through pre-designed interview schedule Results: Most of the respondents had good knowledge (74.5%), good attitudes (80.5%) regarding dengue fever. However, practices to prevent dengue were (90%). Conclusion: It is evident that students & paramedics were aware about dengue fever However, they were not much concerned about significance of dengue control and its beneficial effect to community. It is evident from their lack of practices for community .More practical health education programmes along with continued medical education programs should be arranges for paramedics as they are crucial to control of diseases and an integral part of health care system. Introduction: Telemedicine technology is no longer a futuristic concept and is increasingly integrated into health care. As the studies on attitudes toward telemedicine focus mainly on physicians and medical students, there is a need to evaluate the views of students in other fields of paramedical sciences. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate the awareness of and attitude towards telemedicine among the Paramedical Sciences students of Varastegan Institute for Medical Sciences in Mashhad.Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2022. A standard questionnaire was used to evaluate the awareness of and attitude towards telemedicine. This questionnaire included 14 questions, including demographic information (5 questions), information related to exposure to telemedicine (5 questions), interest in telemedicine (2 questions), and plans for future use (2 questions). A proportional per-size sampling method was used for paramedical sciences students.Results: A total of 81 participants responded to the research questionnaire. Most of the students (70.4%) stated that they had seldom been exposed to telemedicine technology. However, 50 students (62.6%) agreed and strongly agreed that exposure to telemedicine in the classroom is an important educational aspect. Also, 37 students (45.7%) strongly agreed that telemedicine needs face-to-face education. A significant difference was observed between the field of study and interest after experiencing telemedicine among the students (p=0.04). Also, there was a significant difference between the academic semester and the level of interest in telemedicine among the students (p<0.001).Conclusion: The results of this survey show that the majority of paramedical sciences students still lack the experience of being exposed to it, despite the increasing development of telemedicine. Since the majority of them are interested in using telemedicine as an educational aspect, future studies are recommended to help the education and experience of exposure to telemedicine among paramedical science students.

Background: Personal protective equipment (PPE) continues to play an integral role in prevention of transmission of infection in the healthcare setting. The objective of this study is to determine the level of knowledge, attitude and practice of universal precautions for control of infection among health care workers.Methods: Cross sectional study were conducted at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi during the period of November 2018 to January 2019. 151 paramedical staffs were included as study population. Sampling method was consecutive sampling.Results: The present study included 151 paramedical staffs, based on our criteria about knowledge of PPEs, 88.7% (134) of participants had the knowledge, while 11.3% (17) did not have. 77% (116) of paramedical staffs received formal training while 23.2% (35) didn’t. 95.68% had the knowledge about PPEs who received training (116), while out of untrained person 65.71% already had knowledge about PPEs which is statistically significant. Departments which always use PPEs are emergency (50%) followed by pathology (16.6%) and Neurosurgery (13.3%) which is statistically significant. Those who frequently use PPEs, 89.6% had knowledge while 10.4% did not have. 85.4% of paramedical staff change gloves between procedures on same patient. Non availabilityof PPEs inhibit maximum percentage of Paramedical staffs 72% towards use of PPEs followed by lack of information and education 12% and uncomfortable PPEs 5%.Conclusions: Proper training should be provided to healthcare workers for universal precaution. Information about universal precaution can be spread in the form of posters in different wards.

Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge regarding drugs addiction among paramedical staff; and toidentify the association between the level of knowledge and their socio-demographic variable.Methodology: A cross-sectional study was Conducted in Baghdad on Staff for the period from 1st June,2016 to30th September, 2016 . The sample included 510 Health professionals . There are 9 sectors in centerof Baghdad , 5 of them in Al- Kurkh side of the city and 4 in Al-Russafa side. The sample was selected from49 primary health care centers and 8 public hospitals through a multi-stage sample using a simple randomsampling technique. The information was collected through the design of a questionnaire whose stability andreliability were determined. Data analysis was done using descriptive and indicative descriptive statisticalmethods.Results: The results of the examination demonstrated that 21.8% of the health staff in the age group (40-44)were the majority of the study sample for males (51.2%) and about (85.9%) of the married while the majority(87.1% Of the city's population. The educational level was the majority of graduates of medical institutes(62.4%). No significant association was found between level of education and knowledge about drugaddiction for paramedical staff .No significant association had been found between gender, marital status,and residence with knowledge about drug addiction for paramedical staff.Recommendations: Paramedical staff might be needed to adhere to educational programs and nationaltraining as intensive courses for short period, about of drug addiction. And national education programs aboutdrug addiction to prevent constructed and presented to the public through the collaboration between the healthauthority and society association and non-governmental organizations

Objective: I. To assess the Sociodemographic profile of paramedical students. II. To find correlation between the academic motivation, academic stress, self-efficacy, social support of paramedical students. Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted over period of 3months after complete enumeration of Paramedical students of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Institute Of Medical Science & Research, Uttarakhand. Prestructured validated questionnaire of Academic Motivation Scale (ASM- C28) with Cronbachs alpha 0.92, General Self - Efficacy Scale(GSE) with Cronbachs alpha 0.9, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support(MSPSS) with Cronbachs alpha 0.9 in addition to adapted questions of academic stress was used. Results: 46% of students agree that college education helps them prepare a better career.58% of students feels academic stress while studying Conclusion: Most of the students are academically motivated.

Introduction: Diabetes is on the rise in sub-Saharan Africa, and particularly in Senegal where the latest prevalence estimates are around 3.4%. The region of Saint-Louis is a special case in terms of prevalence, since it far exceeds the national average, with more than 10% of the local population in 2011, or 30,000 to 40,000 cases. This epidemiological evolution of diabetes in the department of Saint-Louis is the direct consequence of many causes, including the lack of continuing medical education for paramedical staff. Material and methods: Our work proposes to return to the need for continuing medical education of paramedical staff in the department of Saint-Louis, through two surveys carried out with the diabetic people: a base line survey carried out before the training, and an end line survey after the diabetes training. The general objective is to assess the skills of health workers and their effectiveness in the management of diabetes and its complications, as well as the quality of diabetes management. Results: We found that the level of knowledge of nurses in charge of health posts and other paramedical staff is relatively heterogeneous. The average level obtained for right answers (66.76% during the base line survey and 82.4% during the end line survey) reflects the lack of continuing education concerning the diabetic disease in the department of Saint-Louis. Conclusion: The assessment of the knowledge of nursing staff in the department of Saint-Louis to which we proceeded is edifying. It is part of a logic of improving knowledge of diabetic disease and its complications. It shows that in the peripheral health structures, the need for continuing medical education is real.

This study was conducted from October 2008 to April 2009. students ages 22 to 24 years, They were randomly selected from the first and second study level Global Adult Tobacco Survey based questionnaire. Was used the first part of the questionnaire contained demographic data and the second part contained various questions about smoking habit and attitude. Results: The study revealed that 50 (8.3%) of student were smoker. The prevalence of smoking was (19.6%) among males, and (0.0%) among females, smoking was more common in males than females (p=0.001), while the never smoked more among females than males (p< 0003).The main sources for initiating smoking habit are friends, parents, and media.Conclusion: (19.6%) of males and (0.0%) of females paramedical students in institute of medical technology , anti tobacco education and awareness should be adopted in the curriculum of school and colleges.

Background: India needs around 2,77,000 donations annually to perform 1,00,000 corneal transplants. To enhance the procurement of corneal donations further, raising the level of public education on eye donation was the most important first step. The Govt. of India under the 11th 5-year plan envisages eliminating avoidable blindness completely by 2020. The aim and objective of the study was to compare the awareness of eye donation and willingness to donate eyes among medical and paramedical students.Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out among 400 final year MBBS students and interns and also among the final year B.Sc. nursing students and at Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar from August 2018 to September 2018.Results: The study participants were in the age group of 18-25 years. While 100% medical students had heard about organ donation, 85.5% of paramedical students heard about organ donation. Positive opinion regarding donation of eye post death was got from all the medical students as against 85% of paramedical students. More than 1/3rd of the study participants in both the groups were willing to donate eyes and know more regarding the same and also had a fair idea regarding shortage of donors in India.Conclusions: Awareness of eye donation is better in medical students compared to paramedical students, preferably due to the exposure and study curriculum. Most of the students in both groups were inclined to pledge for eye donation. Awareness regarding eye donation will form the prime base for the elimination of avoidable blindness in India.

Introduction: Low levels of health literacy lead to reduced health, increased length of hospital stays, and increased use of emergency services in patients and impose higher medical costs on individuals. Considering the effect of paramedical students' health literacy on community health promotion, this study aimed to determine the level of health literacy and its associated factors in paramedical students.Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 310 paramedical students during a two-month period from January to March 2021. The data collection tool was the Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA) questionnaire. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the questionnaire was designed online, and its link was provided to students.Results: Among the participants, 247 (79.7%) cases were female, and 63 (20.3%) cases were male with a mean age of 21.16 ± 1.97 years. According to the results, 3.9% of the students had inadequate health literacy, 37.3% had not so adequate health literacy, 46.6% had adequate health literacy, and 12.2% had excellent health literacy. The results of ANOVA and t-test showed a significant association between the mean total health literacy score of students and their age, gender, and semester (P <0.05).Conclusion: This study findings showed that more than half of the participating students had adequate and excellent levels of health literacy. Since paramedical students are promoters of health in the community, more attention should be paid to the education of these individuals. Therefore, it is necessary to empower them in the field of health literacy.

Knowledge, attitude and awareness of BMW management among HCWs are the three determinants used to evaluate the effective functioning of BMW management system of the Institution. This study aims to detect the degree of Knowledge, attitude and awareness of BMW management among HCWs in a dental hospital.Methods: This study included 90 HCWs from three groups (dentists, interns, and paramedical staffs), each group comprising of 30 individuals. They were instructed to tick their response in the questionnaire containing 22 questions and were graded as good, average and poor based on individual score.Results: Order of decreasing knowledge and attitude seen among the three groups was dentists followed by interns and paramedical staff. Decreasing order of awareness was postgraduates, interns and laboratory technicians with same score, followed by nurses and sanitary staffs. In our study, 88%, 86.7% and 69.33% of participants had above average KAA values respectively.Conclusions: Doctors and interns had better understanding of BMW management than other Paramedical staff members. Sanitary workers were highly ignorant regarding BMW management. So a continuing medical education program on BMW management should be conducted on yearly basis to train and update newly appointed as well as existing HCWs.

Background and objective: The entire world is reeling under the COVID-19 pandemic caused by coronavirus SARS-COV-2. A longitudinal study was planned to understand the evolving pattern of seroprevalence of anti-SARS CoV-2 antibodies in a cohort of health care workers. Method: A prospective study was conducted among the health care workers categorized as doctors, nursing staff, paramedical staff, and housekeeping staff. A qualitative estimation of total antibodies (IgM+IgG+IgA) against SARS-CoV-2 was carried out using an ELISA kit in July and November 2020. Results: Total 443 blood samples were collected on July 20 and 214 samples in November. A cohort of 140 health care workers was selected from July to November 2020 data. The overall seroprevalence in HCWs was 8.35% in July 2020 and it increased to 26.63% in November 2020. The overall seroprevalence in the HCW cohort also revealed an increase from 12.14%. 30.71%. In the cohort of healthcare workers, there was a constant seroprevalence in nursing staff (10.5%) and housekeeping staff (25%) while a statistically significant (p0.002) rise in seroprevalence rate (12.6 to 41.37) was noted in the paramedics. Conclusion: The seroprevalence of anti- SARS-CoV2 antibodies in asymptomatic HCWs increased from 8.35% to 26.63% over a period of 4 months. A significant rise in seroprevalence was noted amongst nurses (p0.0005) and paramedics (p0.007). The seroprevalence data of the cohort group revealed a statistically significant rise in seroprevalence in paramedics (p 0.002) as compared to other categories of healthcare personnel.

Methods: This was a descriptive type of cross-sectional explorative study, conducted among the teachers and student of different institutes. Questionnaire was developed and a FGD was done. Then the data was analyzed. Results: At present situation, the numbers of non govt. organizations are more than govt. organizations (127 vs. 85). SWOT analyses showed the overall strength of the institutions were the scope for further improvements and the political commitments for expansion. Weaknesses lie in the lack of adequate infrastructure, suboptimal technical and laboratory facilities and teaching staffs. Opportunities were, increasing demand and provision of jobs at home and abroad. Possible threats were loss of quality services, recognition and registration of the institutes. Regarding the overall organization of the courses, 43% of the students voted as good and 100% of the teachers showed positive opinion. Regarding the teaching-learning procedure, 41% of the teachers strongly agreed about the perfect selection of the students. 48.3% teachers agreed about the adequacy of the number of teachers. 47.8% students also agreed with the competency of the teachers. Nearly one third teachers as well as students agreed about the good physical environment of the institute. About 35% and 36% of the teachers and the students respectively agreed about the transparency of the assessment systems. Conclusions: Present Bangladesh Govt. has implemented various initiatives regarding health sector reform. Proper funding, management, monitoring and evaluation can improve present situation and thus help in the development of better institutional output.

This study was designed to help researchers understand the eating and dietary habits of students in college of Health and Medical Technologies/ Baghdad.The objective: To assess the eating and dietary habits and their associated factors in paramedical students.Methods: Cross sectional study included (201) of paramedical students from (7) departments in college .The study was contacted the period from September 2016 to March 2017, and involved (77) were male and (124) were female. A self –reported questionnaire was employed to assess eating and dietary habits among the simple random selection of students.Results: This study used percentage, Chi-square , Df and P-value to analysis data , results showed that the eating habits for female students which Anesthesia of department higher percentage (23.39%) than male students (23.38%) which medical laboratory of department and their higher percentage (19.90%) among departments while optical of department have low percentage (8.96%). Study also found that there is significant difference between (7) departments (p.v = 0.004) that influence in gender towards eating habits . In addition , this study showed that highly significant for smokers (p.v=0.0001) , education level of mothers were significantly low (p.v=0.050) , eating food groups have no significant difference among students.Conclusion: Most of the paramedical students in this study had healthy eating lifestyle. Association factors were imperative limits of eating lifestyle among students .

Background: There are many factors in determining language proficiency among university students. Identifying these factors can help the teaching and learning process to move forward more quickly and effectively. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the relationship between social, cultural, and linguistic factors and the language proficiency of 221 medical and paramedical students at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences to identify if these factors contribute to language proficiency as an effective variable in students’ communication, academic performance, and quality patient care. Method: The authors administered a questionnaire on these factors' role and a proficiency test. Then, they ran Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyses to determine the relationship and effects of such factors concerning language proficiency. Results: The t-test revealed a statistically meaningful difference between medical and paramedical students concerning both mean scores of proficiency and cultural factors. The results indicated only social and cultural factors statistically correlated with paramedical students’ proficiency. Furthermore, none of these factors built any relationship or exerted any effects on the proficiency of medical students. Conclusion: The results implied that educational policymakers should consider the existing differences between university students of different fields since they come from different sociocultural and linguistic backgrounds that have affected the academic stance in which they are studying. Moreover, the findings necessitate encouraging the policymakers and university lecturers to enhance their sociocultural competencies to adapt and fulfill the needs of such students and highlighting the roles of the family's socioeconomic positions through some workshops since the role of the family is an important variable in determining the extent to which a learner has acquired a specific cultural competence.

Graphically presented algorithms are presently used in many settings worldwide for the diagnosis, management, and teaching of curative health services. There is potential as well for using such algorithms for teaching and counseling in the preventive services, especially in family planning services. The employment of paramedical or lesser trained workers in family planning or management requires careful attention to skill development in all phases of training. The use of graphically presented algorithms may simplify this process of skill development. In addition, the algorithms provide guidelines for use in the field by those providing family planning services, and for program management and supervision. Examples of algorithms used in paramedical services are presented. The development of two algorithms are discussed in detail, 1) an algorithm for introduction of contraceptives during lactation, and 2) an algorithm for supervision of data collection.

Aim. To assess the dental anxiety level among dental, medical, and pharmacy students of MAHSA University, Malaysia.Materials and Methods. A cross-sectional questionnaire study was conducted among 1500 undergraduate students of MAHSA University. The Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) was used to measure dental anxiety among the study population. The responses were assessed by 5-point likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. The level of anxiety was categorized into lowly anxious (5–11), moderately anxious (12–18), and severely anxious ≥19. Out of 1500 students enrolled, 1024 students (342 males and 682 females) completed and returned the questionnaire having response rate of 68.26%.Results. There was a statistically significant difference (P<0.001) when the mean dental anxiety scores were compared among the three faculties and dental students had lowest mean score (11.95 ± 4.21). The fifth year (senior) dental students scored significantly (P=0.02) lower mean anxiety score as compared to the first dental students (junior). The students were anxious mostly about tooth drilling and local anesthetic injection.Conclusions. Dental students have a significantly low level of dental anxiety as compared with medical and pharmacy students. Incorporation of dental health education in preuniversity and other nondental university curriculums may reduce dental anxiety among the students.

Inter-professional learning is helpful for students to identify other professionals for team work and collaboration which results in improved patient care out come and also improve Communication among health professionals and patients. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between readiness and perception of students towards inter-professional learning. A correlation, cross-sectional study was done with Two hundred and eighty five undergraduate Nursing and Paramedical students from Jan, 2018 to May, 2018. Convenient sampling was used to collect data. The Readiness for Inter-Professional Learning Scale (RIPLS) and Interdisciplinary Education Perception Scale (IEPS) were used to measure the readiness and perception of students regarding inter-professional leaning. The data were analyzed using software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) (Version 21). Spearman rho correlation test was used to explore the relationship of variables. The results showed statically significant positive correlation between the readiness and Perception of students regarding inter-professional learning (p=.000). This study indicated that there is strong positive correlation between readiness and perception of students towards inter-professional learning but students have least response towards team work and collaboration. Study suggests that inter-professional education should introduce in the curriculum of nursing and paramedical students to promote team work and share learning.Int. J. Soc. Sc. Manage. <p class="abstract"><strong>Background:</strong> Sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) are transmitted through sexual intercourse. Young individuals of 16-24 yr age group are more prone to STIs because they lack adequate knowledge about STIs and tend to have wrong perceptions towards sex. Thus it becomes important to assess the knowledge level about STIs among this age group. The main objective of this study was designed to evaluate the knowledge, awareness, perception and attitude about STIs among paramedical 1st year students in a tertiary care institute.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Methods:</strong> The study was a descriptive cross sectional study. Detailed questionnaire eliciting information about knowledge, awareness, perception and attitude of the respondents towards STIs was administered to 227 paramedical 1st year students. This self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection.<strong></strong></p><p class="abstract"><strong>Results:</strong> 227 paramedical students participated in this study. Among them 103 (45%) were males and 124 (55%) females. Majority of the students (68%) got the source of information of STIs from education in school and college, 57% from internet and 49% from print media. 95% of the respondents knew about at least one STI. The two most commonly mentioned STIs were HIV (60%) and Syphilis (41%). 7% did not have any knowledge about STI. 68% mentioned sex with multiple partners as a mode of transmission and 46% knew unprotected sex. 17.6%-21.6% of them had misconception about mode of transmission. 49.8% mentioned weakness, 47.6% loss of weight as the symptoms of STIs where as 25.6% did not know anything about symptoms at all. Majority of respondents (60%) did not know about the complications of STDs. Also attitude towards sexual health and prevention of STIs was variable.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Findings of our study showed that it is important to orient the paramedical students about sexual health and positive attitude towards STIs. This will help in prevention and control of STIs.</p>

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of euthanasia education on the opinions of health sciences students. It was performed among 111 final year students at the College of Health Sciences, Dokuz Eylül University, IRzmir, Turkey. These students train to become paramedical professionals and health technicians. Fifteen hours of educational training concerning ethical values and euthanasia was planned and the students’ opinions about euthanasia were sought before and after the course. Statistical analyses of the data were performed with the related samples t -test by means of the Epi-Info program. Significant changes were shown in the students’ opinions on people’s right to decide about their own life, euthanasia in unconscious patients, and reasons for their objection to euthanasia after completing the course. The results of this study suggest that education can significantly change a person’s approach to euthanasia.

For the effective implementation of the continuous education system, new approaches to the implementation of additional professional education for paramedical workers are required. In accordance with professional standards, national, federal and regional priority projects in the field of healthcare, the programs of additional professional education are being updated. The organization of the educational process is based on the principle of openness of education to the external demands of practical healthcare. The material presents the results of a survey of specialists with secondary medical education in the Sverdlovsk region to determine the degree of involvement of specialists in the system of continuous education.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the educational institutions to implement the mandatory virtual learning in medical education. It is undeniable that electronic gadget aided learning have a significant role to play during a pandemic. Both faculty and students are getting accustomed to this ‘New Normalcy’. Therefore, it is of interest to determine the effectiveness and perception of virtual teaching and learning during the COVID 19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study was conducted in which 336 medical and 336 paramedical students of both the genders with age group of 17 - 21 years participated. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software. The shift from class room teaching to virtual learning has led to many health issues among students such as eye strain, anxiety, depression, musculoskeletal problems and obesity. The students also had inadequate time to interact with faculties. Data shows that virtual learning an alternative mode to traditional method during a pandemic.

Employees in the healthcare industry operate in one of the riskiest workplaces Healthcare employees suffer a number of dangers as a result of their job last activities in addition to the usual workplace-related risks. These risks come from a variety of sources including biological, physical, psychological, and chemical agents. The study's objectives were to investigate the levels of knowledge held by medical and paramedical personnel regarding occupational dangers in their workplaces. Moreover, the relationships between various demographic characteristics of these staff members and their knowledge of such hazards were investigated. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in hospitals, During the period of November 5th, 2022 to February 10th, 2023. A number of 355 people were participated in the study, information about (Knowledge) the data was collected through a structured questionnaire and the data was collected using self-report Technique. Regarding the Knowledge, the results of the present study showed that all responses regarding the preceding domain had a moderate evaluation. Also, the result show that the health care worker knowledge impact with education level and the year of age and year of experience. Depending on the collected results, it can be concluded that the medical and paramedical staff had below good (moderate) Knowledge regarding the occupational hazards in their working environment.

INTRODUCTION: The country’s response to a potential outbreak may benefit greatly from the practical knowledge, experience and skills of paramedical students in a number of ways. Thus, this study was conducted to evaluate attitude and practices regarding COVID-19 among paramedical students studying in different colleges of Janakpurdham, Nepal. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A structured questionnaire was used in a descriptive cross-sectional study to collect information on COVID-19 attitude and practices among HA students enrolled in different selected colleges affiliated to Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), Nepal in April and May of 2022. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to analyse the data. Significant results were defined as a p-value of less than 0.05. RESULTS: Majority of girls from NHRDA and MTA (53.7% and 50.58%) respectively, believed that COVID-19 infection is a global problem than CMC girls (35.08%). Of 63.5% and 49.35% girls from NHRDA and MTA agreed that the public is crucial for infection control. More than 60% of girls from NHRDA and MTA suffered from mild fever after immunization fall down by 52.17% girls from CMC’s while 52.3%, 30.6% and 42.42% girls from each college respectively felt 4healthy after immunization and one fourth of total suffered from high fever after immunization. The significant association between the COVID-19 immunization among the students of different colleges (p = 0.00). CONCLUSIONS: Most of the girl students had positive attitude and optimistic practice, while the boys followed appropriate safety measures to avoid contracting COVID-19. A significant correlation has been found between students from various colleges and the COVID-19 vaccine.

Following the outbreak of coronavirus, various crises occurred in different parts of the world, including Iran, and negatively affected various aspects of the life of all human beings. Meanwhile, the educational system has faced many problems at all levels. The presence of large crowds of students in educational centers is dangerous and therefore most educational centers in the pandemic period use distance learning and online. Meanwhile, medical and paramedical students need clinical education, and providing more courses virtually will not be as effective as clinical education. What is certain is that in addition to the cases mentioned above regarding the negative effects of the COVID-19 crisis, the social effects of the spread of the virus on the country's education have not been separated from this rule. What is important is to study its effects on the education of medical sciences and its unique feature as health education, educating students, and providing their professional services to society, in which any quantity and shortcoming can have dangerous consequences for society and health. In the current situation and following the outbreak of the Coronavirus, we are facing more than ever the challenge of empowering graduates who do not meet the health needs and current challenges of society.

Material and Methods: The total period of sample collection was from June 2018 to October 2018 and the participants (was N=100). This descriptive cross-sectional study used a questionnaire that consisted of fifteen close ended questions and specific questions were on background (gender, age, education) characteristics. Descriptive statistics (frequency, distribution, mean and standard deviation was used to describe the data. The data collected from the 100 students nd analyzed by statistical tools (SPSS V.22) by drawing tables and graphs. Results: Overall, 100 female students (age from 19 to 24 years) were interviewed and the response rate was 100%. Out of total respondents, around 86% of the sample stated that antibiotics are appropriate for bacterial infections and 34% of the students had agreed antibiotic can cure viral infections. 74% of the respondents hadn’t expected antibiotics when they had enough with cold, fever, cough and sore throat. Some had taken without prescription. Almost above 90% of the students stop taking those drugs when symptoms decrease and do not take full dose. About 91% respondent agreed to the need of more education about antibiotic resistance. Conclusion: It is important to generate more awareness around this issue among all. It would be advisable to introduce a specific course and training on antibiotics in core curriculum of students.

Background & Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented the world community with its greatest challenges so far. Paramedics play a crucial role in providing pre-hospital care to patients who require urgent medical attention in clinical settings. Therefore, the aim of the study was to evaluate the knowledge on COVID-19 among health assistant (HA) students studying in different paramedical colleges in Janakpurdham. Material and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was performed utilizing a structured questionnaire to acquire responses from HA Students studying in different colleges of Janakpurdham in the months of April and May 2022. Descriptive analysis was applied to calculate the frequencies and proportions. A p-value less than 0.05 were considered as significant. Results: Out of total 360 students, 280 were enrolled. The majority of students were under 20 years old. All of the students were aware of the COVID-19 infection at National Human Resource Development Academy (NHRDA) and Mithila Technical Academy (MTA) colleges, with the exception of 3.61% Care Medical Center (CMC) students. A large percentage of students (52.80% boys , 47.19% girls) responded that the respiratory tract is the primary route by which COVID-19 infections are spread, followed by the students from NHRDA and CMC. Most of the students from all colleges received satisfactory scores on the COVID-19 knowledge test. There was negative association of score of knowledge between 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of CMC and MTA (p=0.96 and p=0.11) respectively. However, there was positive association of score of knowledge between 1st, 2nd and 3rd year NHRDA students (p=0.01). Conclusion: The majority of college students studying at different colleges had satisfactory knowledge, while a moderate number of students had poor and just a few had good knowledge scores on the COVID-19. In order to increase knowledge, various kinds of strategies, regulations, and initiatives should be accomplished and implemented effectively throughout the lower to higher level education.
