We investigate the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of the orthorhombic Perovskite oxyde NdMnO3 through density-functional-theory (DFT) calculations using both generalized gradient approximation GGA+U, where U is on-site Coulomb interaction correction. The electronic band structure, the partial and total density of states (DOS) and the magnetic moment are determined. The results show a half-metallic ferromagnetic ground state for the orthorhombic NdMnO3.

Poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) (PEDOT) has been inserted between the layers of crystallineV2O5via the in situ polymerization of EDOT within the framework of the oxyde. The insertion increases the bidimensionality of theV2O5host by the layer separation but results in a random layer stacking structure, leading to broadening of the energy state distribution. According to electrochemical measurements, the hybrids showed reversible specific capacities up to∼330mAh/g at 15mA/g between 2 and 4.4V vs.Li+/Li.

The aim of this work is to study the physical obstacles introduced by the use of high-k MOSFETs structures and discuss basic problems associated with high-k candidates currently investigated such as low carrier mobility and parasitic interfacial layers and to present other ways to reduce the undesirable secondary effects when one replaces silicon with a high dielectric oxyde (high-k). We will show that use of the nitride allows reducing the effects of the interfacial layers with an acceptable reduction rate of mobility.

Abstract (sommario):

The study was carried out on 40 male Wistar rats after daily intraperitoneal injection of donator of nitric oxide (NO) molecules sodium nitroprusside in a dose of 1.5 mg/kg in 1 day 1 (n = 6); 2 days (n = 6); 6 days (n = 6); 12 days (n = 6); 30 days (n = 6). It is established that an excessive NO intake leads to morphological changes in the pancreas: vasodilation with stasis of blood cells after 1 and 2 days, focal necrosis, destruction of acinar tissue, ductal dilatation with worsening outflow of pancreatic secretion after 6 days; fatty degeneration, segmental apoptosis in 12 days; compensated microcirculatory changes in the body, the formation of fibrous tissue in periductal and perivasal areas with penetration in the interlobular space in 30 days. In the blood serum we detected impaired exocrine pancreatic function: increased activity of pancreatic enzymes — α-amylase and trypsin up to 6 days, and in 30 days — they significantly reduced; increasing the levels of biochemical markers of fibrosis (protein-bound hydroxyproline and hexosamine); failure of endocrine function — increase of glucose level, that is, changes typical for chronic experimental pancreatitis.

Abstract (sommario):

Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis nilai suseptibilitas magnetik dan sifat guano Gua Mimpi Taman Nasional Bantimurung Bulusaraung. Sampel diperoleh di Gua Mimpi pada koordinat 05°01'10,6" S 119°41'11,3" E dengan mengambil sampel pada 30 titik yang berbeda. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode suseptibilitas magnetik dan XRD. Nilai suseptibilitas magnetik guano di Gua Mimpi bervariasi dengan rentang 2,867×10-6m3/kg hingga 85,507×10-6m3/kg. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa sampel mengandung mineral magnetik yang bersifat paramagnetik. Hasil analisis jenis mineral magnetik berdasarkan pola difraksi menunjukkan mineral yang dominan adalah Al(OH)3Aluminium (III) Hydroxide, Na2Al2Si3O102H2O Natrium Aluminosilikate, AlO(OH) Aluminium Oxide Hydroxide, Al2032Si4.2H2O Aluminium Silikate Hydrat, AlKO8Si3 Kalium Feldspar sementara mineral dalam jumlah minor terkandung pada sampel guano Fe3O4 Iron (II,III) Oxyde dan Si3O2 Quarzt.

Abstract (sommario):

Aim. To study the influence of nitric oxide metabolism disturbance on the development of mitochondrial dysfunction in case of hyperhomocysteinemia. Methods. The research was conducted on 32 Wistar male rats. Hyperhomocysteinemia was simulated by intragastric injection of methionine suspension prepared using starch and Tween-80 with addition of this amino acid into the drinking water. The nitric oxide deficiency was induced by intraperitoneal injection of L-Nω-nitroarginine methyl ester (L-NAME) solution. Results. Hyperhomocysteinemia is accompanied by dysfunction of cardiac cells mitochondria, manifesting in growth of cytoplasmic lactate level and development of oxidative stress with increased mitochondrial proteins carbonylation. Oxidative stress is largely compensated by the activation of the antioxidant defense system (including superoxide dismutase), as evidenced by a slight decrease of succinate dehydrogenase and H+-ATPase activity, the absence of statistically significant changes of cytoplasmic lactate dehydrogenase activity. Tween-80 showed antioxidant properties, reducing the content of protein carbonyl derivatives and superoxide dismutase activity. Nitric oxide deficiency caused by the L-NAME injection was accompanied by an inhibition of aerobic oxidation processes in cardiomyocytes mitochondria, which was proved by a significant decrease in succinate dehydrogenase activity as well as slight reduction of lactate dehydrogenase activity and lactate accumulation in the cytoplasm, and an oxidative phosphorylation reduction which manifested with a decrease of H+-ATPase activity. One reason for these changes is increased carbonylation of proteins due to high production of reactive oxygen species, which is not sufficiently compensated by increased activity of superoxide dismutase. Conclusion. Since hyperhomocysteinemia is associated with reduced concentrations of nitric oxide metabolites in cardiomyocytes mitochondria, and changes in these organelles after the administering of methionine have some similarities with those after injection of L-NAME, it can be argued that nitric oxide deficiency plays an important role in the pathogenesis of mitochondrial dysfunction of cardiomyocytes in case of hyperhomocysteinemia.

Abstract (sommario):

Samples of nanocrystalline PbF2 glass ceramics were obtained by heat-treating SiO2–GeO2–PbO–PbF2–CdF2 glasses. The Ho2O3 and Tm2O3 doping effects on the structural features of PbF2 nanoparticles were studied using small-angle X-ray scattering and X-ray diffraction methods. The enlargements of the average sizes of nanoparticles and the sizes of local areas of density fluctuations have been found to be correlated with an increase in concentrations of Ho2O3 and Tm2O3 in initial glasses. A variation in the concentrations of Ho2O3 and Tm2O3 does not affect the morphology and fractal dimension of the formed PbF2 nanoparticles.

Penelitian bertujuan untuk membuktikan pemberian seng berbagai dosis berpengaruh terhadap indeks fagositosis makrofag dan kadar NO.Metode : The post test only controlled group design pada mencit Balb/C terbagi atas 4 kelompok. Perbedaan indeks fagositosis dan kadar NO dianalisis menggunakan uji one way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Bonferroni. Hasil : Rerata indeks fagositosis makrofag adalah 106,60(±023,31), 428,40(±159,58), 285,70(±90,45) dan 208,07(±43,85) berturut turut untuk kelompok kontrol, perlakuan dosis 30 ppm, perlakuan dosis 60 ppm dan perlakuan dosis 120 ppm. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna atas indeks fagositosis makrofag antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan (p = 0,000). Rerata kadar NO adalah 0,08(±0,03), 0,12(±0.06), 0,09(±0,03) dan 0,20±0,08 berturut turut untuk kelompok kontrol, perlakuan dosis 30 ppm, perlakuan dosis 60 ppm dan perlakuan dosis 120 ppm. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna atas kadar NO antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan (p= 0,013).Kesimpulan : Indeks fagositosis makrofag seluruh kelompok perlakuan dengan dosis seng bertingkat 30 ppm, 60 ppm dan 120 ppm lebih tinggi secara bermakna dibanding kelompok kontrol. Kadar NO kelompok perlakuan dengan dosis seng 120 ppm lebih tinggi secara bermakna dibanding kelompok kontrol. Sedangkan dosis pemberian seng 30 ppm terbukti memiliki indeks fagositosis tertinggi dan dosis 120 ppm terbukti memiliki kadar NO tertinggi.

Abstract (sommario):

From the total crude ethanol extract of Jasminum subtriplinerve Blume.’s leaves and stems, (Vang se in Vietnamese), four extracts were obtained by partitioning with petroleum ether, cloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol solvents. These four extracts were tested for antioxydative activity, determined using the DPPH●.radical scavenging and nitric oxyde-inhibitory assay. All the extracts showed antioxidative activity except the petroleum ether extracts. Among the crude extracts, the acetate ethyl extract was the most potent extract in both assays with the SC50 values of 8.2 μg/mL and 80.7 μg/mL, respectively. From the VS3 substract, three compounds were isolated, including two acids namely 3,4- dihidroxybenzoic acid (1), 3,4,5-trihidroxybenzoic acid (2) and a glycoside, verbascoside (3). The structure of those compounds was elucidated by spectrometric methods IR, MS, LC-MS, 1D-NMR, and 2D-NMR.
