Abstract (sommario):

Method based on vague optimization evaluation is vague pattern recognition. There are six detailed steps of application. The first, Set up Techno-economic indicator system. Secondly set up preparative optimization scheme sets. Thirdly set up optimal scheme in theory. It is made up of each Techno-economic indicator optimal data. Fourthly transform techno-economic input data into vague data. The fifth, Calculating similarly measures. Similarity measures will be evaluated between preparative optimization scheme vague sets and optimal scheme in theory. The last is vague optimization evaluation. The weight of each preparative optimization scheme is given. The data of weighted similarity measures by the weight factors are obtained. And applying them we obtain the good and bad sort of vague optimization scheme. The new similarity measures formula between vague sets is given. The formula is indispensable in the method of vague optimization evaluation. Application examples show that the Vague optimization evaluation method to the conclusion is reliable.

Abstract (sommario):

Data Provenance is a key of evaluating authority and uncertainty in data query. Query process technology based on data provenance overcomes the shortcomings of traditional data integration on query quality and efficiency. This paper constructs a data model of heterogeneous data sources provenance, i.e. Semiring Provenance, based on tracing provenance of data origination and evolution. It’s proved to be effective in creating mapping between heterogeneous schemas and optimizing query quality and authority evaluation. Experiments using real data set show that our approach provides an effective and scalable solution for query optimization technology.

According to the 8000t/d production capacity planning and high in-situ stress, high rockburst proneness in deep mining of Sanshandao Gold Mine, three mining methods were compared and analyzed from safety, technical and economic indexes. Fuzzy optimization model was built to select the optimal mining method based on mining indexes quantification and fuzzy analysis of mining indexes. The conclusion shows that Alternate Room-Pillar Mining Method with Ascending Backfill is the optimal mining method to satisfy the safety and high efficiency demand of deep mining in Sanshandao Gold Mine.

Abstract (sommario):

This paper presents a general approach for probabilistic constraint evaluation in the reliability-based design optimization (RBDO). Different perspectives of the general approach are consistent in prescribing the probabilistic constraint, where the conventional reliability index approach (RIA) and the proposed performance measure approach (PMA) are identified as two special cases. PMA is shown to be inherently robust and more efficient in evaluating inactive probabilistic constraints, while RIA is more efficient for violated probabilistic constraints. Moreover, RBDO often yields a higher rate of convergence by using PMA, while RIA yields singularity in some cases.

In this paper, we propose a particle swarm optimization variant based on a novel evaluation of diversity (PSO-ED). By a novel encoding of the sub-space of the search space and the hash table technique, the diversity of the swarm can be evaluated efficiently without any information compression. This paper proposes a notion of exploration degree based on the diversity of the swarm in the exploration, exploitation, and convergence states to characterize the degree of demand for the dispersion of the swarm. Further, a disturbance update mode is proposed to help the particles jump to the promising regions while reducing the cost of function evaluations for poor particles. The effectiveness of PSO-ED is validated on the CEC2015 test suite by comparison with seven popular PSO variants out of 12 benchmark functions; PSO-ED achieves six best results for both 10-D and 30-D.

Abstract Optical interferometers as non-contact measurement devices are very desirable for the measurement of surface roughness and topography. Compared to phase shifting interferometers (PSIs) with a limited measurement range and a scan step of maximum λ/4, the optical interferometers like low coherence interferometers (LCIs) evaluating the degree of fringe coherence allow a larger vertical measurement range. Their vertical measurement range is only limited by the scan length allowed by the linear piezo stage and the coherence length of the light source. To evaluate the obtained data for a large range, the common LCIs require much computation time. To overcome this drawback, we present an evaluation algorithm based on the Hilbert-Transform and curve fitting (Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm) using Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) technology, which allows parallel and independent data evaluation on General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU). Firstly, the evaluation algorithm is implemented and tested on an in-house developed LCI, which is based on Michelson configurations. Furthermore, we focus on the performance optimization of the GPU-based program using the different approaches to further achieve efficient and accurate massive parallel computing. Finally, the performance comparison for evaluating measurement data using different approaches is discussed in this paper.

Effectiveness evaluations are one of the important ways to guide grid investment and to improve investment efficiency. Improving the effectiveness of grid investment evaluations is studied based on the optimization of the investment evaluation index system and the utility evaluation model. The index system is optimized by establishing an evaluation index system of grid investment effectiveness, considering the redundancy between the indices, and constructing an ISM-DEA model. The utility function model was introduced to fully consider the different risk appetites of decision-makers, and a utility evaluation model that takes risk appetite into account was established. An improved weight integration model based on multiobjective optimization was established by considering the minimum deviation and the trend-optimal objective function when setting the index weights. The calculation results show that the feasibility of the index system optimization model and utility evaluation model constructed in this study is verified under the premise of satisfying the assumptions. By adjusting the risk preference coefficient of decision-makers, the dynamic optimization of the grid investment utility evaluation results can be realized.

Abstract (sommario):

Reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) evaluates variation of output induced by uncertainties of design variables and results in an optimal design while satisfying the reliability requirements. However, its use in practical applications is hindered by the huge computational cost during the evaluation of structure reliability. In this paper, the reliability index based decoupling method is developed to improve the efficiency of probabilistic optimization. The reliability index is used to calculate the shifting vector in the decoupling process, due to its efficiency in evaluating violated probabilistic constraints. The computation capability of the proposed method is demonstrated using two examples, which are widely used to test RBDO methods. The comparison results show that the proposed method has the same accuracy as the existing methods, and it is also very efficient.

Abstract (sommario):

The development of information technology change rapidly, which breaks the traditional method of browsing information. Open distribution interface has brought certain risks to the information security. Solving security problems of information system is the hot topic in this field. In this paper we first analyze mainstream B/S system architecture of the current information system, and analyze the principle of ASP.NET visiting Web database. On this basis we do multilevel encryption processing on students’ evaluation information system, so as to realize the optimization of information security. In order to verify the security performance, we use software to do simulation testing. The results show that the method has strong practicability, good encryption effect. It solves encryption of students’ evaluation information system to a certain extent.

Image retrieval system becoming a more popular in all the disciplines of image search. In real-time, interactive image retrieval system has become more accurate, fast and scalable to large collection of image databases. This paper presents a unique method for an image retrieval system based on firefly algorithm, which improve the accuracy and computation time of the image retrieval system. The firefly algorithm is utilized to optimize the image retrieval process via search for nearly optimal combinations between the corresponding features as well as finding out approximate optimized weights for similarities with respect to the features. The proposed method is able to dynamically reflect the user’s intention in the retrieval process by optimizing the objective function. The Efficiency of the proposed method is compared with other existing image retrieval methods through precision and recall. The performance of the method is experimented on the Corel and Caltech database images.

Abstract.Vegetable grafting is a labor-intensive operation with many management decisions. Labor management and resource planning are critical allocations in grafting nurseries, yet optimization is challenging due to the dynamic nature of workers’ performance in vegetable seedling propagation. To this end, we developed a simulation-based optimization framework for labor management to optimize labor allocation. This approach was evaluated by comparing its result with those suggested by selected domain experts (a plant scientist and a nursery manager). Furthermore, the simulation models were validated with a dataset from a developing tomato grafting company. Simulation-based optimization is demonstrated as an effective approach to find the optimal/near optimal labor allocation for horticultural nurseries, where discrete event simulation is used to represent the dynamics of the grafting work environment and meta-heuristics are used to devise optimal/ near optimal resource allocation strategies. Results reveal that a potential annual savings between $2,510 (0.6%) and $97,388 (20%) can be achieved for a grafting facility of 6 million plants per year. To reduce cutting time and costs, an optimized model of cutting parameter is proposed. Constraints like lathe and cutting tool are fully considered. The objective function is aiming at the target of profit margins. Some empirical indexes are used in the constraints and the objective function since the special properties of cutting process. The Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method is used to build an evaluation model, which provides an evolutionary path for cutting parameter. The evaluation matrix R in the model is determined by operators who use the cutting parameter to cut. A cutting parameter database system of B/S structure was developed by JAVA language based on the optimization model and helped a company improved profit margins successfully.

Abstract It is a core content of enterprise performance research evaluating and comparing enterprise performance in dynamic environment. In allusion to this problem, a variety of enterprise performance assessment methods and indexes systems are proposed. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a kind of effective mathematical model which is used for comparing the performance among enterprises or different units inside an enterprise, based on the real-world data. Through comparing the performance, DEA can evaluate the enterprise performance from scale effectiveness and technological effectiveness, and then get the performance optimization goals. Critical Factor Index (CFI) is a new enterprise performance assessment method proposed in recent years. This method, based on the performance perception of business leaders or staffs, evaluates the enterprise performance in different dimensions, and then gets the optimization strategy of enterprise resource allocation to improve integrated enterprise performance. This paper has structured a new evaluation and optimization system for performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which combine properly the DEA and CFI method to evaluate and optimize the SMEs’ performance comprehensively, and has confirm this system with data of 5 Finnish SMEs.

A voxel-based shape representation when integrated with an evolutionary algorithm offers a number of potential advantages for shape optimization. Topology need not be predefined, geometric constraints are easily imposed and, with adequate resolution, any shape can be approximated to arbitrary accuracy. However, lack of boundary smoothness, length of chromosome, and inclusion of small holes in the final shape have been stated as problems with this representation. This paper describes two experiments performed in an attempt to address some of these problems. First, a design problem with only a small computational cost of evaluating candidate shapes was used as a testbed for designing genetic operators for this shape representation. Second, these operators were refined for a design problem using a more costly finite element evaluation. It was concluded that the voxel representation can, with careful design of genetic operators, be useful in shape optimization.

Abstract (sommario):

In order to improve showing effect of the aircraft assembly simulation, a new assembly process simulation optimization method was proposed with combining evaluation of viewpoints with view transformation. First, viewpoints evaluation principle was put forward according to assembly simulation features; then a new view coordinate system was calculated based on the view coordinate system transformation matrix by integrating the direction of assembly paths with the viewpoints evaluation principle; finally, entire optimized process of assembly simulation was analyzed. Efficiency of this method was verified by comparing the result of the optimized wing box assembly simulation with the one which had not been optimized.

The method of Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation is presented to optimize oil-water separator design in the paper. Firstly, the key design parameters to be optimized are determined. Secondly, the CAD technology is applied to achieve parametric models of separator and the CFD technology is employed to fulfill fluid simulation of separator parametric models. Then, with the evaluation indexes established, the simulation results of each separator parametric model are evaluated by Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation. Finally, by comparing the evaluation value of every parametric model, the optimal design model of oil-water separator is achieved.

After more than 20 years of rapid growth in China’s venture capital industry, huge market development potential and boost by the digital wave have made China one of the most attractive venture capital markets in the world. At present, most of the measurement and evaluation of the development level of China’s venture capital industry are qualitative evaluations and few quantitative evaluations, and the evaluation indicators are unitary. It is difficult to comprehensively measure the development status of the entire venture capital industry. This paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation model of China’s venture capital industry development index to reflect the development status of the entire industry, while dynamically tracking its future development trends. In the index system of China’s venture capital industry development index model, there are a total of ten indicators in three aspects: total, structural, and performance dimension. The calculation results are obtained by subjective and objective weighting target planning algorithm, and the final score evaluated by TOPSIS model is indexed. In this way, the development curve of China’s venture capital industry from 2006 to 2016 is obtained. Judging from the results reflected in the model conclusions, the index can better reflect the current development trend and problems faced by China’s venture capital industry.

Considering the requirements for efficiency and precision in the forklift styling, the authors developed the forklift optimizing system for its styling based on the interactive genetic algorithms (IGA). The system includes parameter optimization, color optimization and part combination three modules. The parameter optimization module can find the user defined parameters of the forklift 3D models and generate new models. Color optimization module can group the model surfaces and render the groups with different color. New color plans are generated through random changing of the colors in each group. The parts combination module divides forklift into several parts and build lib for each part. The module can pick parts from the lib and assemble them into a whole forklift and demonstrate them. The thesis developed a protosystem on the Solidworks platform with VBA programming tools. Interactive genetic algorithms are applied to realize the three module’s function.

Over the last several years, a great amount of research work has been focused on the development of model predictive control techniques for the indoor climate control of buildings, but, despite the promising results, this technology is still not adopted by the industry. One of the main reasons for this is the increased cost associated with the development and calibration (or identification) of mathematical models of special structure used for predicting future states of the building. We propose a methodology to overcome this obstacle by replacing these hand-engineered mathematical models with a thermal simulation model of the building developed using detailed thermal simulation engines such as EnergyPlus. As designing better controllers requires interacting with the simulation model, a central part of our methodology is the control improvement (or optimisation) module, facilitating two simulation-based control improvement methodologies: one based in multi-criteria decision analysis methods and the other based on state-space identification of dynamical systems using Gaussian process models and reinforcement learning. We evaluate the proposed methodology in a set of simulation-based experiments using the thermal simulation model of a real building located in Portugal. Our results indicate that the proposed methodology could be a viable alternative to model predictive control-based supervisory control in buildings.

Optimization-based motion cueing algorithms based on model predictive control have been recently implemented to reproduce the motion of a car within the limited workspace of a driving simulator. These algorithms require a reference of the future vehicle motion to compute a prediction of the system response. Assumptions regarding the future reference signals must be made in order to develop effective prediction strategies. However, it remains unclear how the prediction of future vehicle dynamics influences the quality of the motion cueing. In this study two prediction strategies are considered. Oracle: the ideal prediction strategy that knows exactly what the future reference is going to be. Constant: a prediction strategy that ignores every future change and keeps the current vehicle’s linear accelerations and angular velocities constant. The two prediction strategies are used to reproduce a sequence of maneuvers between 0 and 50 km/h. A comparative analysis is carried out to objectively evaluate the influence of the prediction strategies on motion cueing quality. Dedicated indicators of correlation, delay and absolute error are used to compare the effects of the adopted prediction on simulator motion. Also the motion cueing mechanisms adopted by the different conditions are analyzed, together with the usage of simulator workspace. While the constant strategy provided reasonable cueing quality, the results show that knowledge of the future vehicle trajectory reduces the delay and improves correlation with the reference trajectory, it allows the combined usage of different motion cueing mechanisms and increases the usage of workspace.
