The nucleocapsid (N) protein is the only phosphorylated structural protein of the coronavirus Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV). The phosphorylation state and intracellular distribution of TGEV N protein in infected cells were characterized by a combination of techniques including: (i) subcellular fractionation and analysis of tryptic peptides by two-dimensional nano-liquid chromatography, coupled to ion-trap mass spectrometry; (ii) tandem mass-spectrometry analysis of N protein resolved by SDS-PAGE; (iii) Western blotting using two specific antisera for phosphoserine-containing motifs; and (iv) confocal microscopy. A total of four N protein-derived phosphopeptides were detected in mitochondria–Golgi–endoplasmic reticulum–Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC)-enriched fractions, including N-protein phosphoserines 9, 156, 254 and 256. Confocal microscopy showed that the N protein found in mitochondria–Golgi–ERGIC fractions localized within the Golgi–ERGIC compartments and not with mitochondria. Phosphorylated N protein was also present in purified virions, containing at least phosphoserines 156 and 256. Coronavirus N proteins showed a conserved pattern of secondary structural elements, including six β-strands and four α-helices. Whilst serine 9 was present in a non-conserved domain, serines 156, 254 and 256 were localized close to highly conserved secondary structural elements within the central domain of coronavirus N proteins. Serine 156 was highly conserved, whereas no clear homologous sites were found for serines 254 and 256 for other coronavirus N proteins.

This paper proposed precoding of OFDM signal using Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and adding of Log companding algorithm so as to reduce PAPR. Three scenarios were considered to fully examine the effect of PAPR in OFDM system based on simulations conducted in MATLAB environment while varying the number of subcarriers, N = 64 and 256. Initial simulation using conventional OFDM showed high PAPR in transmitted signal for N = 64 and 256, which resulted in PAPR of 9.741 and 11.41 dB respectively. In the second case, log companding technique was introduced into the OFDM and it was observed that PAPR was significantly reduced to 5.664 dB, and 6.101 dB by a percentage improvement of 41.9% and 46.5% for N = 64 and 256. For the proposed scheme, DCT scheme was used to initially precode the OFDM and a log companding algorithm applied, the results obtained indicated more than half level of reduction in PAPR of OFDM signal such that for N = 64 and 256 the PAPR was reduced to 4.214 dB and 4.743 dB, which corresponded to percentage improvement of 56.7% and 58.4% respectively.

BackgroundHand osteoarthritis (OA) is associated with impairment in paid and unpaid work and contributes to societal burden and costs of OA. However, the longitudinal development of hand OA-related work impairment and related societal costs are unknown.ObjectivesTo investigate the association of hand OA with paid and unpaid work productivity loss, hinder and societal costs longitudinally.MethodsWe used annual data of the Dutch Hand OSTeoArthritis in Secondary care (HOSTAS) cohort, consisting of patients with primary hand OA primary hand OA defined by the treating rheumatologist. Data from baseline to four years of follow-up was used. The Health and Labour Questionnaire (HLQ) was assessed over the last two weeks on (i) hand OA-related limitations and hours of productivity loss while at work, (ii) hours of sick leave, and (iii) limitations and hours of unpaid work replacement. Patients with HLQ data on >1 timepoint were included in this study.Societal costs of paid work productivity loss (=all hourly costs in order to employ a worker, such as salary and premiums) were estimated by multiplying the number of unproductive and sick leave hours due to hand OA by the estimated hourly costs of paid work in The Netherlands based on age and sex. Costs of unpaid work were estimated by multiplying the hours of unpaid work replaced by others by the Dutch gross average hourly salary of a household help (2021:€12.50). Costs were adjusted to 2021 values using conversion factors provided by the Dutch government, and to yearly values.Results470 patients had data on more than one timepoint. Baseline data was available for 381 patients, of whom 256 patients (67%) completed four years of follow-up, and 215 (56%) completed all five follow-up moments.Of 256 patients with baseline and four years follow-up, 113 (52%) had paid work at baseline and 104 (41%) at four years (Table1 for patient characteristics). Unproductive hours at any timepoint were present for 85/470 patients (18%), for whom unproductive hours fluctuated over time (Figure 1). Median paid work hinder score (score range: 6-24) remained stable at 7 (interquartile range (IQR): 6;8) over the study period. Unproductive hours at any timepoint were present for 85/470 patients (18%).Regarding unpaid work, 105/256 (41%) required unpaid task replacement by others due to hand OA at baseline, which remained stable over time (108/256 at four years (42%)). Unpaid work hinder was reported by 100/256 patients (39%) at baseline and 97/256 (36%) at four years.Costs related to loss of paid and unpaid productivity were incurred at baseline by 136/256 patients, with a median of €63 per patient ((IQR) 38;125) per two weeks (€1630 per patient (978;3261 per year). At four years, these costs were present for 120/256 patients, with a median of €50 (38;100) per two weeks (€1304 (978;2609) per year).ConclusionPatients with hand OA experience significant impairment in paid and unpaid work participation over the years, which translates into substantial societal costs. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) suffers the effect of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) that reduces the strength or power of radio frequency (RF) signal at the transmitter and which also pushes the performance of transmitter amplifier into distortion. In order to minimize the effect of PAPR in OFDM, this paper proposed a system that precodes the OFDM signal using Walsh-Hadamard Transform (WHT) and Log function companding algorithm. Simulations were conducted in MATLAB environment while varying the number of subcarriers, N = 16, 64, 128, 256. simulation results indicated original OFDM revealed high PAPR in transmitted signal for the different number of subcarriers (N) such that for N =16, 64, 128, and 256, resulting in 7.964dB, 8.885 dB, 9.548 dB, and 9.961 dB respectively. With the introduction of WHT-Log companding scheme, the PAPR of OFDM signal was significantly reduced to 4.775 dB, 4.285 dB, 4.517 dB, and 4.602 dB by a percentage improvement of 40%, 51.8%, 52.7%, and 57.8% for N = 16, 64, 128, and 256 respectively. As a result, from the simulation results, the proposed system can be said to have largely reduced PAPR in OFDM system using a scheme with significant computational complexity.

ABSTRACT The antimicrobial susceptibilities of 16 clinical isolates ofDesulfovibrio spp. were determined. All or most isolates were susceptible to imipenem (MIC90 [MIC at which 90% of the isolates tested were inhibited], 0.5 μg/ml), metronidazole (MIC90, 0.25 μg/ml), clindamycin (MIC90, 4 μg/ml), and chloramphenicol (MIC90, 16 μg/ml) but were resistant or intermediate to penicillin G (MIC90, 64 μg/ml), piperacillin (MIC90, 256 μg/ml), piperacillin-tazobactam (MIC90, 256 μg/ml), cefoxitin (MIC90, >256 μg/ml), and cefotetan (MIC90, 64 μg/ml). Among isolates with decreased susceptibility to β-lactams (n = 15), only six were β-lactamase positive and susceptible to amoxicillin-clavulanate and ticarcillin-clavulanate.

Abstract A previous study (Paper I) investigated the polarization properties of a variety of simple convex grain shapes, some of which were found to be consistent with the observed polarization properties of interstellar dust from far-ultraviolet to far-infrared. Here, we study the optical properties of 45 nonconvex shapes, all aggregates of N equal-sized spheres. We consider N = 2, N = 3, and N = 256 random aggregates obtained from three different aggregation schemes. We also consider “trimmed” N = 256 aggregates obtained by systematically trimming initially random aggregates to increase either flattening or elongation. The “macroporosities” of the studied aggregates range from P macro = 0.18 (for the N = 2 bisphere) to P macro ≈ 0.85 (for the N = 256 “BA” aggregates). The only aggregates consistent with observations of starlight polarization and polarized thermal emission are shapes that have been trimmed to increase their asymmetry. If interstellar grains are high-porosity aggregates, there must be processes causing extreme elongation or flattening; if not, interstellar grains must be dominated by fairly compact structures, with at most moderate porosities. The ratio of polarization in the 10 μm silicate feature to starlight polarization in the optical is shown to be insensitive to porosity and shape. X-ray scattering may be the best tool to determine the porosity of interstellar grains. We propose that modest porosities of interstellar grains could be the result of “photolytic densification.” High polarization fractions observed in some Class 0 cores require processes to reduce porosities and/or increase asymmetries of aggregates in dense regions.

Cette thèse porte sur l'étude de l'évolution de la personnalité et de l'identité des divinités polythéistes d'Europos-Doura, depuis sa création vers 300 av. N. è. , a sa chute, en 256 de n. E. , à la lumière du renouvellement des données archéologiques actuelles. Nous disposons pour cela d'une petite centaine d''inscriptions grecques et sémitiques, de sculptures et de peintures majoritairement d'époque romaine. Notre démarche est comparatiste et philologique, permettant de réévaluer les différentes origines des divinités et leur personnalité propre à Europos-Doura, seule cité de cette époque -mis à part Hatra- à avoir accueilli trois civilisations différentes: grecque, parthomésopotamienne et romaine. L'enjeu de ce travail est de connaître les raisons pour lesquelles telle divinité indigène a été rapprochée de telle divinité grecque, l'identité d'un dieu n'étant jamais fixée. L'interaction culturelle entre des habitants d'origine différente au sein même de la cité influe également sur les choix d'une interprétation entre une divinité et une autre. Un dieu grec est-il honoré pour ses aspects grecs ou pour ceux du dieu avec qui il est assimilé? Quel est l'impact réel d'une interpretatio graeca ou romana sur les cultes indigènes? Nous cherchons donc à analyser tous les facteurs susceptibles d'être à l'origine d'un changement dans l'identité de telle ou telle divinité et à savoir si un facteur type provoque un changement type. Cela nous permet ainsi de discerner, aux différentes époques de la cité, les tendances culturelles propres à Europos-Doura, -originalité, conformisme ou les deux ?- et leur relation avec les tendances religieuses directrices de ces époques.

O objetivo desse trabalho foi estudar os mecanismos que alteram a produção de melatonina na glândula pineal durante o processo de caquexia associada ao câncer e o papel de citocinas neste contexto. Os resultados mostraram um aumento da produção de melatonina no grupo inoculado com o Tumor de Walker 256 (GT) junto com uma maior atividade e expressão gênica da enzima AA-NAT, principal enzima reguladora da síntese de melatonina. O estudo in vitro mostrou que a glândula do GT produziu menos melatonina que a glândula do grupo controle (GC) após estimulação com noradrenalina (NOR). Além disso, o TNF-<font face=\"symbol\">a foi capaz de modular a síntese de melatonina em cultura, promovendo um efeito estimulatório 2h após o inicio da estimulação com NOR, e um inibitório 4h após essa estimulação. Dessa forma, os resultados indicam que produtos na circulação do rato do GT estão envolvidos na modulação encontrada in vivo e que o TNF<font face=\"symbol\">a- é um forte candidato a participar dessa modulação promovida pelo estabelecimento da síndrome da caquexia sobre a produção de melatonina na glândula pineal.<br>The purpose of this work was to investigate the mechanisms that modify melatonin synthesis in pineal gland during cancer related cachexia and the involvement of cytokines in this context. The results showed an increment of melatonin production in the group inoculated with Walker 256 Tumor (GT) together with a higher activity and gene expression of AA-NAT enzyme, main enzyme that regulates melatonin synthesis. The in vitro study showed that glands from GT produced less melatonin than glands of the control group (GC) after noradrenalin (NOR) stimulation. Besides, TNF-<font face=\"symbol\">a was capable to modulate melatonin synthesis in pineal gland culture, promoting a stimulatory effect 2 hours after NOR stimulation and an inhibitory effect 4 hours after this stimulation. Therefore, the results indicate that products from tumor bearing rat\'s circulation are probably involved in the modulation found in vivo and that TNF-<font face=\"symbol\">a is a strong candidate to participate in cachexia-related modulation of melatonin production in pineal gland.

Previous issue date: 2013-03-07<br>Esta pesquisa tem por escopo central estudar as modificações advindas da ADI 4424 e suas implicações na Lei Maria da Penha. Desta forma, o presente estudo intenciona verificar se o novo posicionamento do STF é necessário para a efetivação do direito fundamental à igualdade de gêneros, ante o machismo arraigado na sociedade brasileira ou se é uma usurpação da autonomia da mulher e seu direito de escolha? Como objetivo final, pretende-se demonstrar que a queixa é um forte capital simbólico na mão das mulheres e que a impossibilidade de retratação da
representação feita contra o companheiro, talvez, sob a ótica da vítima, não seja benéfica para a supressão da violência doméstica, até porque, é por meio dela que a mulher tem tentado sucumbir a sua hipossuficiência perante o homem ou colocando-se em igual patamar ao dele. O método utilizado é o fenomenológico. Para tanto, utiliza-se a pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo, coletando-se os dados por meio de entrevistas, com roteiro semiestruturado, bem como por meio de trabalho de campo observacional na Vara Especializada em Violência Doméstica e Familiar contra a Mulher de Vila Velha/ES. A pesquisa se divide em quatro capítulos. O primeiro versa acerca da tramitação, procedência, efeitos e argumentos utilizados pelo proponente na ADI 4424 e a fundamentação do voto de cada Ministro em seu julgamento. No segundo, analisa-se, a partir da teoria de Pierre Bourdieu, a questão de gênero como relação entre dominadores e dominados e os efeitos dessas construções. No terceiro capítulo, verificar-se-á a dominação masculina na sociedade brasileira, perfazendo uma breve passagem histórica da mulher na legislação, bem como expondo dados estatísticos, analisando algumas causas influenciadoras que levam os homens a agredir, bem sopesando acerca da luta existente entre a mulher e a queixa. O último capítulo apresenta entrevistas com algumas mulheres que foram impedidas de se retratarem da representação feita contra o parceiro, a fim de averiguar os motivos que a levaram a requerer a extinção do processo, bem como o sentimento vivido por estas ante a negativa judicial, avaliando-se de forma exemplificativa alguns aspectos discutidos teoricamente.<br>Scope of this research is central to study the changes arising from the ADI 4424 and its implications for Maria da Penha Law. The first one deals about the procedure, origin, purpose and arguments used by the bidder in ADI 4424 and the reasons for the vote of each Minister in his trial. In the second, we analyze, from the theory of Pierre Bourdieu, the gender issue as the relationship between rulers and ruled and the effects of these
constructions. The third chapter will examine male dominance in Brazilian society, giving a brief history of women in law, as well as exposing statistical date, analyzing causes some influencers that lead men to attack and weighing about the struggle between women and abuse. The last chapter features interviews with some women who were prevented from portraying the representation made against the partner in order to ascertain the reasons which led it to request the dismissal of the case as
well as the feeling experienced by these negative before the court, evaluating to form some exemplary aspects discussed theoretically.

Este trabajo de suficiencia profesional, busca sustentar dos expedientes pertenecientes a las dos principales ramas del derecho. Por un lado, un expediente de derecho público, correspondiente a una controversia de protección al consumidor y, por otro lado, un expediente derecho privado, que busca determinar la naturaleza de un acto jurídico celebrado en el marco del derecho civil.
El primero de los expedientes, se trata de la controversia iniciada por la señora Denise Marissa Buckley Soto contra Lan Perú S.A. por la presunta infracción al deber de idoneidad del servicio, el cual habría sido afectado debido al retraso en el vuelo LA 2706 en la ruta Lima-Madrid.
El segundo caso bajo análisis, es la controversia entre José Luna García y su cónyuge, y la empresa Organización Peruana de Exportaciones Industriales S.A. – OPIESA, sobre de la naturaleza del acto jurídico que celebraron de forma verbal durante el primer trimestre el año 1997.
La posición de los señores Luna es que el acto jurídico celebrado fue un contrato de compraventa del Inmueble, mientras que la empresa Organización Peruana de Exportaciones Industriales S.A. – OPIESA, considera que se celebró un contrato de naturaleza asociativa, en el que los señores José Luna y su cónyuge, participaron en una asociación para el desarrollo de un proyecto inmobiliario.<br>This work of professional sufficiency seeks to support two files belonging to the two main branches of law. On one hand, a public law file, that corresponds to a consumer protection dispute and, on the other hand, a private law file, which seeks to determine the nature of a legal act executed within the framework of civil law.
The first of the files is the controversy initiated by Mrs. Denise Marissa Buckley Soto against Lan Perú S.A. for the alleged violation of the duty of suitability of the service, which would have been affected due to the delay in flight LA 2706 on the Lima-Madrid route.
The second case under analysis is the controversy between José Luna García and his spouse, and the company Organización Peruana de Exportaciones Industriales S.A. – OPIESA, about the nature of the legal act that they celebrated verbally during the first quarter of 1997.

Acredita-se ter sido ele o principal responsável por revitalizar a filosofia da iluminação de Sūhrawardi naquele contexto, além de consolidar a junção entre sufismo e neoplatonismo. Foi responsável, ainda, pela elaboração de metodologia própria para a compreensão da realidade, tendo por base fontes filosóficas, teológicas e místicas, além de mesclar raciocínio lógico, inspiração espiritual e meditação profunda. Ṣadrā aplicou tal metodologia às principais obras da tradição xiita duodécima. Do ponto de vista filosófico, Ṣadrā percebe o conceito aristotélico de \"substância\" como processo, em constante mudança; nesse aspecto, o filósofo aproxima-se da leitura de traço neoplatônico, já presente em al-Fārābī e Ibn Sīnā. O modo como Ṣadrā relaciona as noções de \"essência\" e \"existência\" deu novas feições à discussão metafísica de tradição árabe-islâmica. Para responder à demanda por instrução da multidão de novos convertidos - e igualmente firmar as bases da nova religião oficial -, grande número de religiosos foi trazido de áreas xiitas respeitadas pela doutrina e pela ortodoxia, tais como Líbano e Iraque. Esse clero árabe recém chegado, que teve Ṣadrā como herdeiro, foi responsável por incorporar novos elementos ao pensamento religioso vigente em terras persas e, assim, conformar ambiente propício para o desenvolvimento do pensamento filosófico de Ṣadrā.<br>Prominent figure of the \"Isfahān School\", Mullā Ṣadrā (979 H. / 1571-2 AD) had an important role during the Safavid renaissance in the reign of Abbās I (d. 1039/1629). He is believed to be the main responsible for the revitalization of the philosophy of illumination of Sūhrawardi in that context, as well as for the consolidation of the junction between Sufism and Neoplatonism. He also developed his own methodology for the comprehension of the reality, based on philosophical, theological and mystics\' sources, and which puts together logical reasoning, spiritual inspiration and deep meditation. Ṣadrā applied his methodology to the then major works of the Twelver Shi\'ism tradition. From the philosophical point of view Ṣadrā perceives the Aristotelian concept of \"substance\" as a process in constant change; in this regard the philosopher comes nearer to the Neoplatonic ideas instead, as did al-Fārābī and Ibn Sīnā. The way Ṣadrā relates the notion of \"essence\" and \"existence\" added new features to the metaphysical discussions in Arabic and Islamic philosophical tradition. In his doctrine, Ṣadrā ends up transforming the metaphysics built upon the primacy of substances as the primordial element of existence, in another one based on and moved by acts of existence. The most important contribution of The Elixir of the Gnostics however is the emphasis of the author on self-knowledge. As Ibn Ἁrabī, Ṣadrā believes that the knowledge of the soul / nafs - in other words, the knowledge of the self - and the knowledge of God are interconnected. For this reason the present work is more concerned in analyzing the relation between existents, soul, and the first intelligence, from which it is possible to comprehend the fundamental issues of the origin and the return to the donor source of existence. From the historical point of view, it is worthy to highlight that the establishment of the Safavid Empire resulted in the mass conversion of the Persians into Shi\'ism. In order to respond to the increasing demand for religious instruction - and also to stabilize the basis for the new official religion - a great number of clerics was brought from Shiite areas recognized for their doctrine and orthodoxy, such as Lebanon and Iraq. This newcomer Arab clergy was responsible for incorporating new elements to the existing religious thought in Persian lands, and for creating a propitious context for the development of Ṣadrā\'s philosophical thought.

O Livro das Mil e Uma Noites, na forma como se encontra em seu grupo de manuscritos mais antigo, o chamado ramo sírio, configura-se como um grande compêndio de narrativas árabes de cunho erótico, em sua maioria. As cenas encontradas nessas narrativas, quase sempre explícitas, revelam mulheres sensualíssimas, donas de corpos desejados, e homens desejosos desses corpos e, na maioria das vezes, traídos por suas mulheres. Porém, uma narrativa em especial se destaca fortemente nesse universo carnal das Noites: a história de \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār e Šamsunnahār\". O amor que tem lugar nessa narrativa beira o divino e inefável, e suas descrições, sempre imprecisas, revelam a dificuldade em se descrever um amor tão distante da carne e de seus desejos. Mas não é só no livro em questão que tal narrativa se destaca: dentro de toda a tradição amorosa da época a que pertence (entre os séculos IX e XI, no apogeu do Califado Abássida), tal como a conhecemos hoje, essa história de amor se mostra como única. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar justamente esse destaque da narrativa de \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār e Šamsunnahār\" dentro de seus contextos: primeiramente dentro do Livro das Mil e Uma Noites e, posteriormente, dentro da literatura amorosa abássida. Busca-se comparar a narrativa dos dois amantes com todas as outras narrativas erótico-amorosas das Mil e Uma Noites, demonstrando suas diferenças substanciais. Além disso, busca-se mapear a tradição literária amorosa abássida, demonstrando como Nūruddīn e Šamsunnahār nada têm que ver com os amantes das narrativas de amor da época. Ao final do trabalho, enumerando-se e analisando-se pormenorizadamente essas características de destaque, aproximamos a narrativa dos dois amantes a outras obras, contemporâneas a ela, que se declaram platonizantes. Assim, situamos a história de Nūruddīn e Šamsunnahār num pequeno e pouco estudado grupo de obras árabes medievais: o grupo que compartilha características que se assemelham às das obras platônicas e neoplatônicas.<br>The Book of the Thousand and One Nights, in the way it is written in its oldest group of manuscripts, the Syrian branch, is composed as a big compendium of erotic Arabic stories, in its majority. The scenes found in those stories, which are almost always explicit, reveal very sensual women, owners of desired bodies, and men who desire those bodies, and who are, almost always, betrayed by those women. However, one story in special contrasts from the others in this carnal universe of the Nights: the story of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\". The love described in this narrative approaches the divine and ineffable love, and its descriptions, always imprecise, reveal the difficulty of describing a love, which is so distant from the body and its desires. But, the narrative of the two lovers is not a highlight only in this book: in the whole erotic tradition to which it belongs (the Abbasid love, between the IX and X centuries), this story shows itself as a unique one. The present dissertation aims to analyse these highlights of the narrative of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\" in its contexts: first, inside the Book of the Thousand and One Nights and, after that, inside the erotic Abbasid literature. We do it by comparing the story of the two lovers to all the other erotic narratives of the Nights, demonstrating all the substantial differences among them. Besides that, we draw a map of the whole erotic Abbasid literary tradition, demonstrating how Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār have nothing in common with the other Abbasid lovers, described in the erotic stories of that time. At the end of the dissertation, by enumerating and analysing carefully those characteristics of highlight, we approach the narrative of the two lovers to other works, contemporary to it, which declare themselves to be platonic. By doing that, we situate the story of Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār in a very small and not studied group of Arabic medieval works: the group, which shares similar characteristics with the platonic and neoplatonic works.

Na presente pesquisa, elegemos o binômio nāḇî\' e miṯnabbê como janela de observação para um estudo interdisciplinar dos fenômenos proféticos na Bíblia Hebraica, utilizando contribuições de diversas disciplinas. Nosso objetivo foi o de discutir uma questão que está sobre a mesa de debates dos pesquisadores, possuindo uma bibliografia que é vasta, porém inconclusiva A dificuldade dos scholars em afirmar em que medida o binômio nāḇî\'/miṯnabbê descreve ou não fenômenos distintos torna a questão complexa e instigante. Os capítulos do trabalho acompanham o recorte do estudo, que é composto por quatro narrativas: Nm 11, 1 Sm 10, Ez 13 e Mq 3. A forma participial miṯnabbê descreve o comportamento dos anciãos em face do nāḇî\' Moisés (Nm 11), a performance de Saul diante de um ḥeḇel neḇiʼim (grupo de profetas) em êxtase e ao som de música (1 Sm 10), bem como a atividade das profetisas-miṯnabb ͤ ʼōṯ, cuja racionalidade (designada pelo termo lêḇ, \"coração\") obstinada (šrr) é criticada pelo nāḇî\' Ezequiel (Ez 13). A condição profética dos anciãos e de Saul se relaciona com a vinda do ruaḥ (sopro, espírito) divino. O substantivo nāḇî\' está em questão também na crítica ao pagamento do profeta ávido por enganar (šeqer) e \"morder\" (nōšek) lucros e benefícios(Mq 3). Por meio do exame dessas passagens, levantamos discussões que resultaram em um comentário crítico sobre o profetismo israelita, que destaca a abertura de possibilidades de pesquisa suscitada pelo binômio nāḇî\'/miṯnabbê<br>The heterogeneity of the Israelite prophecy can be approached from several ways. In this study, we chose the binomial nāḇî\' and miṯnabbê as an observation window to an interdisciplinary study of the prophetic phenomena in the Hebrew Bible, using input from several disciplines. Our goal was to discuss an issue that is present in the current discussions of researchers, having a bibliography that is extensive but inconclusive. The difficulty researchers have to state to which extent the binomial nāḇî\'/miṯnabbê describes or not distinct phenomena makes the issue complex and instigating. The chapters of this work follow the scope of the study, which consists of four narratives: Nu 11, 1 Sa 10, Eze 13 and Mic 3. The participial form miṯnabbê describes the behavior of elders in the face of nāḇî\' Moses (Nu 11), the performance of Saul before a ḥeḇel neḇiʼim (group of prophets) in ecstasy and at the sound of music (1 Sa 10), as well as the activity of the prophetesses - miṯnabb ͤ ʼōṯ, whose obstinate (šrr) rationality (designated by the term lêḇ,\"heart\") is criticized by the nāḇî\' Ezekiel (Eze 13). The prophetic condition of the elders and Saul relates to the coming of the divine ruaḥ (blow, spirit). The noun nāḇî\' is emphasized also in the criticism about the payment of the prophet eager to cheat (šeqer) and to \"bite\" (nōšek) profitsand benefits(Mic 3). Through the examination of these passages, we raised discussions that resulted in a critical commentary on the Israelite prophecy, which highlights the opening of research possibilities raised by the binomial nāḇî\'/miṯnabbê

AbstractPurpose: This study investigated the periprocedural complication rates, long-term outcome, and restenosis of endovascular treatment for intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICS) at our hospital.Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 217 patients comprising 256 endovascular treatments for high-grade symptomatic ICS. The lesion was located in the internal carotid artery in 77, the middle cerebral artery in 111, the basilar artery in 29, and the vertebral artery in 39. Patients were divided into two groups, before (early-phase group, 1999–2013) and after approval of Wingspan (late-phase group, 2014–2017).Results: In the early-phase group (n = 163), 157 lesions were treated by balloon angioplasty and 31 (17%) by coronary stenting. In the late-phase group (n = 54), 33 lesions were treated by balloon angioplasty and 35 (52%) by Wingspan stenting. Overall technical success rates were 96% in the balloon angioplasty and 100% in stenting groups. The 30-day rate of stroke, TIA, and death were 4.8% in the early-phase group and 4.4% in the late-phase group. There was one minor stroke and two TIAs during the follow-up period in the late-phase group.Conclusions: Endovascular treatment for symptomatic ICS in this study appeared to be safe and effective if patients are properly selected. However, future well-designed randomized trials with different techniques and modified patients selection criteria are certainly warranted.

Abstract Drought is an important stress phenomenon in Bangladesh that greatly hampers crop production. So, it is imperative to develop drought-tolerant rice varieties. Low-yielding, non-uniform flowering and late-maturing Africa rice - New Rice for Africa (NERICA), viz. NERICA-1, NERICA-4 and NERICA-10 varieties - were irradiated with different doses of gamma-rays (250, 300 and 350 Gy) in 2010. M1 plants were grown and M<sub>2</sub> plants were selected based on earliness and higher grain yield. The desired mutants along with other mutants were grown as the M<sub>3</sub> generation during 2011. A total of 37 mutants from NERICA-1, NERICA-4 and NERICA-10 were selected on the basis of plant height, short duration, drought tolerance and high yield in the M<sub>4</sub> generation. In the M<sub>5</sub> generation, six mutants were selected for drought tolerance, earliness, grain quality and higher yield. With respect to days to maturity and grain yield (t/ha), the mutant N<sub>1</sub>/250/P-2-6-1 of NERICA-1 matured earlier (108 days) and had higher grain yield (5.1 t/ha) than the parent. The mutant N<sub>4</sub>/350/P-4(5) of NERICA-4 also showed a higher grain yield (6.2 t/ha) than its parent and other mutants. On the other hand, NERICA-10 mutant N<sub>10</sub>/350/P-5-4 matured earlier and had a higher yield (4.5 t/ha) than its parent. Finally, based on agronomic performance and drought tolerance, the two mutants N<sub>4</sub>/350/P-4(5) and N<sub>10</sub>/350/P-5-4 were selected and were evaluated in drought-prone and upland areas during 2016 and 2017. These two mutants performed well with higher grain yield than the released upland rice varieties. They will be released soon for commercial cultivation and are anticipated to play a vital role in food security in Bangladesh.

Abstract The irradiated pollen technique (IPT) is the most successful haploidization technique within Cucurbitaceae. The influence of gamma-ray doses (250, 350, 450 and 550 Gy), genotypes and stage of development of embryos obtained by IPT on the induction of haploid embryos were studied in several Iranian melon cultivars as well as their hybrids with alien cultivars. Female flowers were pollinated using pollen that had been irradiated with gamma rays. Different shapes and stages of embryos were excised 21-25 days after pollination and cultured on E20A medium. Direct culture, liquid culture and integrated culture methods were used; integrated culture and liquid culture methods showed advantages in increasing the efficiency of haploid plant production in melon breeding programmes. Results revealed that 550 Gy of gamma irradiation was successful in inducing parthenogenesis and fruit development, whereas lower irradiation doses were not effective in inducing haploid embryos. The percentages of embryos per seed were the highest in 'Samsoori' (1.2%) and 'Saveh' (1.1%) cultivars. Some of the heart-shaped and cotyledon-shaped embryos developed into haploid plants. In total, 52 parthenogenic melon plantlets were recovered from 274 embryos via IPT. Production of haploid embryos and haploid plants was strongly influenced by gamma-ray dose, embryo stage and genotype. Indirect methods and chromosome counting performed on the root cells of regenerated plants showed that these plants were haploid (n = x = 12).

AbstractVarious contextual factors contribute to teachers’ failure to employ effective differentiated instruction in classroom practices. This is evident in the high drop-out rate of South African students. These students mostly attend schools in lower income and rural areas that are poorly resourced and where teachers are not always trained to support students and apply differentiated instruction in the classroom. The study aimed to establish from students’ observations and teachers’ perceptions to what extent differentiated instruction is employed in classrooms. Data was collected in public secondary schools (n = 25) of the Gauteng Province in South Africa, using a quantitative approach. The social context of these schools still embodies poverty, lack of educational opportunities and resources, and overcrowded classrooms (ratio 1:40). Two questionnaires were completed, one by secondary school students (n = 4510) and another by teachers (n = 424). Contradictions were detected when students’ observations of their teachers’ differentiated classroom practices were compared with their teachers’ perceptions. Findings showed that teachers did not always establish if students understood the content and did not always know what their difficulties were. The possible reasons could be inadequate training of teachers to identify students’ learning barriers and to create and implement differentiated activities; teachers experiencing a lack of time to complete the curriculum; a lack of resources; teaching large classes; and an inability to manage and maintain discipline in classes.

AbstractOrogenic gold deposits formed in various terranes of most ages since the Paleoarchean and generally consist of quartz veins hosted in shear zones formed at the ductile brittle transition under greenschist to lower amphibolite metamorphic conditions. Vein mineralogy is dominated by quartz with various amounts of silicates, carbonates, phyllosilicates, borates, tungstates, sulfides, and oxides. The isotopic composition of these minerals and fluid inclusions has been investigated since the 1960s to constrain the characteristics of orogenic fluid systems involved in the formation of gold deposits worldwide. This review is based on 8580 stable isotope analyses, including δ18O, δD, δ13C, δ34S δ15N, δ11B, and δ30Si values, from 5478 samples from 558 orogenic gold deposits reported in the literature from 1960 to 2010. This contribution describes the variability of the light stable isotopic systems as function of the minerals, the age of the deposits, their regional setting, and their country rocks. The temperature of isotopic equilibrium of orogenic gold veins is estimated from mineral pairs for oxygen and sulfur isotopes. Based on these temperatures, and on fractionation between mineral and fluid components (H2O, CO2 and H2S), the isotopic composition of fluids is estimated to better constrain the main parameters shared by most of auriferous orogenic fluid systems. Orogenic gold deposits display similar isotopic features through time, suggesting that fluid conditions and sources leading to the formation of orogenic gold deposits did not change significantly from the Archean to the Cenozoic. No consistent secular variations of mineral isotope composition for oxygen (−8.1‰ ≤ δ18O ≤ 33‰, n = 4011), hydrogen (−187‰ ≤ δD ≤ −4‰, n = 246), carbon (−26.7‰ ≤ δ13C ≤ 12.3‰, n = 1179), boron (−21.6‰ ≤ δ11B ≤ 9‰, n = 119), and silicon (−0.5‰ ≤ δ30Si ≤ 0.8‰, n = 33) are documented. Only nitrogen (1.6‰ ≤ δ15N ≤ 23.7‰, n = 258) and sulfide sulfur from deposits hosted in sedimentary rocks (−27.2‰ ≤ δ34S ≤ 25‰, n = 717) display secular variations. For nitrogen, the change in composition is interpreted to record the variation of δ15N values of sediments devolatilized during metamorphism. For sulfur, secular variations reflect incorporation of local sedimentary sulfur of ultimate seawater origin. No significant variation of temperature of vein formation is documented for orogenic gold deposits of different ages. Quartz-silicate, quartz-carbonate and sulfide-sulfide mineral pairs display consistent temperatures of 360 ± 76 °C (1σ; n = 332), in agreement with the more common greenschist facies hostrocks and fluid inclusion microthermometry. Fluid sources for orogenic gold deposits are complex but the isotopic systems (hydrogen, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur) are most consistent with contributions from metamorphic fluids released by devolatilization of igneous, volcano-sedimentary and/or sedimentary rocks. The contribution of magmatic water exsolved from magma during crystallization is not a necessary component, even if permissible in specific cases. Isotopic data arrays can be interpreted as the result of fluid mixing between a high T (~550 °C)—high δ18O (~10‰)—low δD (~−60‰) deep-seated (metamorphic) fluid reservoir and a low T (~200 °C)—low δ18O (~2‰)—high δD (~0‰) upper crustal fluid reservoir in a number of orogenic gold deposits. The origin of the upper crustal fluid is most likely sea- or meteoric water filling the host rock porosity, with a long history of water–rock isotope exchange. Mixing of deep-seated and upper crustal fluids also explains the large variation of tourmaline δ11B values from orogenic gold veins. Regional spatial variations of oxygen and hydrogen isotope compositions of deep-seated fluid reservoirs are documented between orogenic gold districts. This is the case for the Val-d’Or (Abitibi), Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie (Yilgarn) where the oxygen isotope composition of the deep-seated fluid end-member is 4‰ lower compared to that from the Timmins, Larder Lake, and Kirkland Lake districts (Abitibi). However, both mixing trends converge towards a common, low δ18O upper crustal fluid end-member. Such variations cannot be related to fluid buffering at the site of deposition and suggest provinciality of the fluid source. The contribution of meteoric water is mainly recorded by fluid inclusions from Mesozoic and Cenozoic age deposits, but micas are not systematically in isotopic equilibrium with fluid inclusions trapped in quartz from the same vein. This suggests late involvement of meteoric water unrelated to deposit formation. Yet, a number of deposits with low δD mica may record infiltration of meteoric water in orogenic gold deposits. Isotope exchange between mineralizing fluid and country rocks is documented for oxygen, carbon, sulfur and silicon isotopes. Large variations (> 10‰) of sulfide δ34S values at the deposit scale are likely related to evolving redox conditions of the mineralizing fluid during reaction with country rocks. Deposits hosted in sedimentary rocks show a shift to higher δ18O values as a result of fluid/rock oxygen exchange with the regional sedimentary country rocks.

This paper continued the study of the complexity behavior of the satisfiability analysis of hard random formulas given in the conjunctive normal form (CNF). In the 3-CNF formula, each clause contains three literals of logical variables. The number of logical variables in the formula is N. In this paper, the SAT solver is improved by introducing equality reduction and pure literal identification procedures. The solver improvement reduced the exponent (with base 2) from N/20.86 to N/21.41 with an R=4.6 ratio of the number of clauses to the number of variables. The results show that the efficiency of the pure literals identification procedure decreases as R increases. An important part of the study is an empirical estimation of the algorithmic complexity of the SAT problem with large number of variables. The proposed method gives a convenient lower bound on the complexity of analysis for random 3-CNF formulas. We estimated the algorithmic complexity for the range N=256÷8192. The exponential dependence of complexity on N for random 3-CNF formulas at a fixed value of R is demonstrated in this range.

The results of a computational experiment on the assessment of the complexity of proving the unsatisfiability of random 3-CNF logical formulas are presented. The dependence of the complexity of this proving on the R-ratio of the number of clauses to the number of variables is demonstrated. The computational experiment was carried out for the range of the N-number of variables from 256 to 512. An exponential dependence of the median complexity of proving the unsatisfiability of formulas on the number of variables was revealed for each of R value: 4.3, 4.6, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0. A formula is constructed that approximates the results of the experiment. According to this formula the exponential component of the median complexity of the analysis of random 3-CNF is estimated as 2 to the power N / (8.4R-17.8).

Full-crossbar interconnections offer high parallel bandwidth, simple routing, and performance. However, their cost is prohibitive. Multistage networks have emerged as a cost-effective alternative, reducing the cost to O(n log(n)). This study addresses the challenges posed by large networks with 256 connections, where the configuration space expands exponentially. We present an approach that efficiently handles routing by reducing the extra stages. We reduce network cost by a factor of 2×. Our approach enables graph routing with up to 214 operators within the 256-connection multistage network, doubling performance compared to previous multistage CGRA frameworks.

A 2-D associative memory of N×N input/output elements require a 4-D memory matrix of N4 elements. It is difficult to implement a fully parallel large size electronic associative memory in view of the 1-D interconnection limitations. Optical holographic media provides high resolution, large dynamic range, and 3-D reconstruction capabilities. These properties lead to the design of a large scale holographic associative memory (HAM) for parallel auto- and heteroassociations. A new N4 recording scheme has been employed in an automatic recording system that is capable of recording a 4-D memory matrix to a 2-D array of up to 256 × 256 holograms. An interpattem association training model is used to extract special features of the stored patterns and to construct excitatory and inhibitory interconnections in the associative memory. An LCTV based prototype system has been constructed and a 32 × 32 element HAM installed for real-time pattern recognition. Since most spatial domain HAMs cannot perform distortion invariant pattern recognition, a Fourier domain HAM is proposed to store multiple synthetic filters for prompt shift-scale-rotation invariant pattern recognition.

Fast analog-to-digital (A/D) converters are important in a number of applications. Several systems have been proposed for fast A/D converters using optical technology1-4. The most common types of converters are the successive approximation and Flash converters. In a Flash converter there is a separate comparator for each possible output bit code. Each comparator is biased with a reference level that is a specific increment of the full scale value. Since comparators in a Flash converter operate in parallel, this architecture is intrinsically fast. However, as the accuracy requirements increase, the number of comparators increases as 2N where N is the number of bits. In the case of an 8 bit Flash ADC, there are 256 comparators. The 256 comparator output signals are routed to a decoder circuit that produces and 8 bit digital word. The schematic for a Flash converter is shown in Fig. 1. The focus of this paper is on a new implementation of an 8 bit Flash converter utilizing optical technologies.

After the injection of DDAVP in 39 non-anesthezised dogs (0.4 μg/kg) there was an average increase of factor VIII:C activity up to 145% (p<0.0001) and of fibrinolytic potential of euglobulin precipitate (t-PA) up to 196% (p<0.0001). The injection of DDAVP was repeated in each dog of a group of good responder animals at weekly intervals , but after : -A) Pentobarbital anesthesia (30 mg/kg)- the increase of factor VIILC was reduced from 164% to 116% (n=11; p<0.0005) and the increase in t-PA was reduced from 270% to 192% (n-11; p<0.05). -B) Injection of propranolol (tmq/kq) - the increase of factor VIILC was reduced from 167% to 110% (n=13; p<0.0005) and there was no decrease of fibrinolytic activity, (n-13; n.s.). -C) Splenectomv-the increase of factor VIILC was reduced from 166% to 122% (n=10; p<0.0005) and t-PA was increased from 196% to 256% (n=9; n.s.). There were no statistical significant differences in factor VIILC and fibrinolytic activities after repeating only the injection of DDAVP three times in the same animal at weekly intervals (n=5; n.s.).We conclude that the increase in F. VIII:C and fibrinolytic activities observed after DDAVP infusion are due to different mechanisms of action. On the one hand, pentobarbital anaesthesia reduced the increase of factor VIILC and t-PA , but on the other hand , beta-blockade and splenectomy influenced differently the behaviour of both biological activities.

It has been suggested that image representation in the visual system is matched to the spatial statistics of natural imagery.1 The extension of this idea to include time requires the development of a reasonable model of the spatiotemporal spectrum of real-world time-varying imagery.2 We have calculated the spatiotemporal power spectrum of 14 image sequences (256 × 256 × 64 at 30 frames/s with no scene cuts). The sequences include scenes with camera pans, object tracking, and object motion with no camera motion. They represent a small ensemble of time-varying imagery the visual system might encounter in the real world. The spectrum of each sequence was found to be spatiotemporally separable to a large degree and was well fit by a model of the form S(|k|,f) = [(2π |k|/a)2 + 1]− n1 [(2πf/b)2 + 1]−n2,where k and f are spatial and temporal frequencies and a, b, n 1 , and n2 are parameters computed separately for each sequence. Reasonable fits to all spectra (in the mean-squared-error sense) were obtained with n1 = 1.5 and n2 = 1.0, which suggests that the image sequences can also be modeled reasonably well by an exponential autocorrelation function that is spatiotemporally separable.

 (ИЛ-6), фактор некроза опухоли α (ФНОα)) у женщин 25-44 лет с разными метаболическими фенотипами.
 МАТЕРИАЛЫ И МЕТОДЫ: в 2013–2016 гг. в Новосибирске в ходе одномоментного одноцентрового ис-
 следования была обследована случайная городская популяционная выборка мужчин и женщин 25–44 лет
 (n=1512, из них 840 женщин), в анализ включены показатели 655 женщин. В каждой группе изучались ме-
 таболически здоровый фенотип (МЗФ) и метаболически нездоровый фенотип (МНЗФ). Для оценки метабо-
 лического здоровья использованы критерии Международной Федерации Диабета (IDF), 2005 года для диа-
 гностики метаболического синдрома (МС). Методом мультиплексного анализа с использованием панелей
 Human Metabolic Hormone V3 (MILLIPLEX) и Human Adipokine Panel 1, на проточном флуориметре Luminex
 MAGPIX определяли уровни ИЛ-6 (n=256), ФНОα (n=365), адипонектина (n=187), адипсина (n=368) и лептина
 (n=370). Статистическая обработка проведена с помощью пакета программ SPSS (v. 13.0). Адипоцитокины
 распределены ненормально, поэтому данные представлены в виде Ме [25;75], где МЕ – медиана, [25;75] –
 процентили. Сравнение двух независимых групп по количественным признакам с ненормальным рас-
 пределением произведено с помощью непараметрического критерия Манна-Уитни. При сравнении трех
 и более независимых групп использовался критерий Краскела-Уоллиса. Различия считались статистически
 значимыми при p<0,05, очень значимыми при p≤0,01, высоко значимыми при p≤0,001.
 РЕЗУЛЬТАТЫ: обследовано 655 женщин, средний возраст 36,3±5,4 лет, сред-
 ний ИМТ 25,0±5,7 кг/м2. В обследованной выборке медиана адипонектина составила
 83,4 [37,4; 120,8] мкг/мл, лептина – 11,8 [5,6; 19,6] нг/мл, адипсина - 24,9 [8,6; 33,2] мкг/мл, ИЛ-6 -
 6,9 [1,3; 14,7] пг/мл, ФНОα - 13,1 [3,7; 24,4] пг/мл. Медиана лептина в группе МЗФ в 1,9 раз ниже, чем в группе
 МНЗФ - 10,2 [4,4; 16,9] нг/мл против 19,1 [10,9; 28,0] нг/мл (р<0,0001). Медианы адипсина и адипонектина
 в сравниваемых группах не отличались (24,8 [8,1; 33,2] и 25,9 [10,0; 33,2] мкг/мл (р=0,534), и 79,5 [37,5; 139,2]
 и 87,7 [36,3; 118,5] мкг/мл (р=0,642), соответственно. Медиана ИЛ-6 у женщин с МЗФ значимо ниже, чем
 в группе с МНЗФ - 6,9 [1,2; 12,4] и 11,7 [2,2; 18,7] пг/мл соответственно (р=0,007), медиана ФНОα также ниже
 в группе МЗФ- 12,7 [3,2; 23,6] пг/мл против 13,8 [4,5; 27,3] пг/мл соответственно (р=0,044).
 ВЫВОДЫ: в популяционной выборке женщин 25-44 лет г. Новосибирска метаболически нездоровые
 женщины уже имеют более высокие показатели лептина и провоспалительных цитокинов (ИЛ-6, ФНОα),
 чем метаболически здоровые. Значения адипонектина и адипсина не отличались в исследуемых группах.

Perfectionism is an increasingly common negative tendency to set high goals and expectations, which may be the basis for the development of depressive symptoms in young athletes. The purpose of this paper is to identify aspects of perfectionism and their association with depressive symptoms in young athletes. The research was conducted with a sample of subjects (n = 256) aged 9 to 17 years, coming from different parts of Croatia. The respondents were active athletes from different sports, divided including team (n = 163) and individual (n = 93) sports. Two questionnaires on mood and feeling were used for the study: The Short Version (MFQ) was used to assess depressive symptoms and the Sport Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale 2 (SMPS-2) to assess aspects of perfectionism. The questionnaire consisted of 43 items to which participants gave their agreement on a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. A correlation was found between the total depression variable and six variables of mean perfectionism (R2 = 0.28). Four variables (high expectations, failure = complete failure, failure = annoyance, and rarely feeling that training prepared me for competition) were related to self-referential perfectionism, while the other two variables (coach criticizes everything except perfect performance, only outstanding performance is appreciated by the coach) were related to the coach and his influence. These variables are related to high expectations in sports, failure, frustration after a mistake, perception of the coach as a critical person who sets too high goals, and participants blaming themselves for poor training.

เอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาเป็นความสัมพันธ์แบบพึ่งพาอาศัยระหว่างราและพืช รวมถึงไม้ในวงศ์ไม้ยาง (Dipterocarpaceae) ซึ่งเป็นไม้เด่นในป่าเต็งรัง โดยเอนไซม์จากราเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องในกระบวนการแลกเปลี่ยนคาร์บอนที่พืชได้จากการสังเคราะห์ด้วยแสงและธาตุอาหารในดินจากรานั้น ส่งผลต่อกระบวนการหมุนเวียนธาตุอาหารในระบบนิเวศป่าเต็งรัง เพื่อเข้าใจถึงบทบาทของราเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาต่อ การหมุนเวียนแร่ธาตุนี้ งานวิจัยนี้จึงศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงตามเวลาของสังคมราเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาในป่าเต็งรังรุ่นที่สองในจังหวัดน่านและสระบุรี รวมถึงศึกษารูปแบบและพลวัตของแอกทิวิตีของเอนไซม์จากดินและ รากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาใต้ดิน โดยป่าเต็งรังในจังหวัดน่าน มีไม้เด่นเป็นไม้วงศ์ไม้ยาง 4 ชนิด ในขณะที่มีไม้วงศ์ไม้ยางเพียงชนิดเดียวเป็นไม้เด่นในพื้นที่ป่าเต็งรังจังหวัดสระบุรีซึ่งกำลังฟื้นตัวหลังจากถูกรบกวนได้ไม่นาน วางแปลงศึกษาจำนวน 3 แปลงในแต่ละพื้นที่ จากนั้นเก็บตัวอย่างดินครั้งละ 15 ตัวอย่างต่อแปลงศึกษา จำนวน 4 ครั้ง ในเดือนกันยายน 2560 ถึงสิงหาคม 2561 โดยครอบคลุมฤดูฝนและฤดูแล้ง ทำการเปรียบเทียบสังคมราใต้ดินในแต่ละพื้นที่และระหว่างฤดูกาลจากลักษณะทางสัณฐานวิทยาของรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซา ตรวจสอบค่าแอกทิวิตีของเอนไซม์ acid phosphatase (AP) β-glucosidase (BG) และ β-N-acetylglucosaminidase (NAG) ทั้งจากดินและรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซา ฤดูกาลละ 1 ครั้ง ด้วยวิธี para-nitrophenol ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความชื้นในดินและจำนวนรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาสูงที่สุดในเดือนกันยายน 2560 ซึ่งเป็นฤดูฝน พบรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซา 14 ลักษณะจากแต่ละพื้นที่และรากแต่ละลักษณะมี การเปลี่ยนแปลงตามเวลาแตกต่างกัน สำหรับค่าแอกทิวิตีของเอนไซม์จากดินทั้ง 3 ชนิด พบว่ามีเพียง BG ที่มีค่าลดลงในฤดูฝนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ค่าแอกทิวิตีเฉลี่ยของเอนไซม์ AP จากรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาที่จังหวัดสระบุรีในฤดูฝนมีค่าน้อยกว่าเอนไซม์ในฤดูแล้ง ในขณะที่รากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาที่จังหวัดน่าน เอนไซม์ BG มีค่าแอกทิวิตีสูงในฤดูฝน ค่าเฉลี่ยของแอกทิวิตีของเอนไซม์จากรากเอ็กโทไมคอร์ไรซาทั้งหมด รวมถึงจากรากแต่ละลักษณะมีความแปรผันระหว่างแปลงศึกษาซึ่งอาจเป็นผลจากแหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยย่อยในแต่ละบริเวณ

AIMS & OBJECTIVES:1) To evaluate the effect of gum chewing on the duration of postoperative ileus following abdominal surgeries. Patients in study group (n=25) were asked to chew one stick of METHODS: chewing gum for 30 min four times a day until passing atus while the control group (n=25) patients were kept nil per orally until the passage of atus. RESULTS: Based on the results it can be concluded that on chewing gum it was seen that the duration of overall recovery of bowel movements in form of appearance of bowel sound, passing atus and motion and feeling of hunger, occurred early in patients chewing gum CONCLUSION:Gum chewing after abdominal surgeries has shown to signicantly reduced postoperative ileus as judged by the appearance of bowelsounds ansd passage of atus as well as stools.

Objective: This study aimed to assess efficacy, complications, and surgeon and patient satisfaction related to forearm intravenous regional anaesthesia using low doses of lidocaine in ambulatory hand surgery. Methods: This prospective, randomized and double-blind study included patients who received 25 ml (125 mg; Group 1; n = 35) and 15 ml (75 mg; Group 2; n = 35) of 0.5% lidocaine. Data recorded included sociodemographic variables, intraoperative hemodynamic findings, time to onset of sensory and motor block, intensity of motor block, duration of tourniquet tolerance, need for additional local anaesthetic and sedation, development of intraoperative complications, perioperative visual analog scale values, and patient and surgeon satisfaction. Results: Group 2 showed significantly longer time to onset of motor and sensory block than Group 1 (p = 0.033 and 0.015, respectively). Group 2 showed a significantly weaker intensity of motor block than Group 1 (p < 0.001). Only one patient in Group 2 required additional local anaesthetic. No patient developed major complications. Conclusion: Forearm intravenous regional anaesthesia using a low dose of 0.5% lidocaine (75 mg; 15 ml) can provide adequate and safe surgical anaesthesia in ambulatory surgery of the hand. Furthermore, weaker motor blockade may assist the surgical team, especially in tendon surgeries. Therefore, the use of a lidocaine dose almost equivalent to the quantity used in IV induction of anaesthesia can achieve safe and effective anaesthesia in hand surgery. Level of Evidence: Level I, therapeutic study.
