Abstract (sommario):
The interest in the Povcha Upland is not accidental. There has been almost no specialized research and the existing stock information does not reflect the real situation of modern relief; there is a need for more detailed research. Morphometric analysis of the relief is one of the most effective methods for its study. The use of GIS technologies and digital elevation models makes it possible to create thematic maps of the most essential morphometric relief indicators. Methods of digital elevation modelling were used during morphometric relief analysis. It allowed us to characterise this area by quantitative and qualitative indicators of relief. The key morphometric indicators of the relief of Povcha Upland are highlighted. A series of morphometric maps was made using ArcMap. Based on the digital elevation model of SRTM using GIS, the complex morphometric assessment of the Povcha upland territory is executed. Maps of hypsometry, slopes, aspect ratio, range relief and drainage density are constructed. Key words: Povcha Upland, digital elevation model, morphometry, hypsometry, slope, aspect, horizontal dismemberment of a relief, vertical dismemberment of a relief, GIS.

Abstract (sommario):
This study aims to analyze changes in the morphometry of the lake bottom in a period of ten years, namely from 2006 to 2016. The analysis of morphometric changes is carried out by comparing two bathymetric maps from the mapping in 2006 and 2016. The morphometric aspects studied include the water surface area stated in km2, the volume of water (in m3) and the depth of the lake (in m). The results showed that within 10 years the surface of the lake water has decreased by 1.03 km2, while the total volume of lake water has increased by 10.41 m3. The average depth of the lake in a period of 10 years has barely changed significantly, only silting of about 0.01 meters. Judging from the contour pattern, it shows that there is a tendency for siltation to move not only towards the south but also towards the east. That means more sediment contributions come from the western region. The rain catchment area on the west side of the lake has a larger area when compared to the east side (Eris District). The sediment potential is greater from this area.

Abstract (sommario):
Water flows with significant flow rate feature a high destructive force and can lead to catastrophic consequences. Fluvial processes caused by uneven distribution of rain precipitation over the area pose risks to the developed inland foothill territories. The purpose of this study is to carry out a quantitative morphometric analysis of the territory in order to identify the formation features of flood flows. The analysis and ranking of catchment basins are performed using a basin approach. On the basis of SRTM images and the use of stock cartographic material in the GIS program the authors have built specialized electronic maps that allow to obtain quantitative parameters reflecting the morphometry of the basins under analysis including basin geometry, drainage network and terrain relief. On example of the Ulaanbaatar agglomeration territory it is shown how initial morphometric parameters of basins and watercourses (length, width, area, perimeter, erosion dissection, drainage network density, terrain relief coefficient, Melton coefficient, etc.) form the features of flood flow. For developed territories, the initial data on the catchment basin morphometry constitute the basis for compilation of specialized maps to be used in planning and construction. The combination of morphometric indicators on the territory of the Ulaanbaatar agglomeration indicates that there is possibility of large flood formation and development of dangerous mudstone flows in some catchment basins.

Abstract (sommario):
Measurements of the shape or geometry of any natural form, including those of plants, animals, and relief features, are referred to as morphometry. Morphometry is the accurate measurement of landforms. One of the crucial requirements for effective management and planning of water resources within the watershed is an understanding of the behavior of the surface drainage network. In order to comprehend and interpret the dynamics of the watersheds drainage system and to understand the drainage network features, morphometric study of a watershed is a vital stage in watershed development and management. Watershed characterization includes morphometry as a key component. Aspects that are dimensional, aerial, and relief are typically present for the conservation of surface and ground water, watershed development and management strategies are crucial. Applying mathematical equations and statical measures to data from topographic maps and satellite images, morphometric attributes reflect a measurement of the earths surface and are processed in accordance with the principles of quantitative analysis. A study of drainage morphometry and its impact on the hydrology of the Mathugad watershed, Grahwal Himalaya, Uttarakhand (India) has been made. Total basin covers 77.12 sq km area. Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) data and on 1:50000 scale and Survey of India Toposheet as reference were utilized to create slope maps, aspect grids, and digital elevation models (DEMs) for the thorough investigation. Geographic information systems (GIS) were employed to assess the linear, areal, and relief aspects of the morphometric parameters. Numerous morphometric features of the Mathugad watershed have been intended by applying GIS techniques and using SRTM data. The research shows that the rainfall has a moderate to large impact on how stream segments develop in the basin area thrusting and faultings controlling influence is primarily responsible for the basins elongated structure. Relief ratio indicates that the discharge capability of these watersheds is very high and the groundwater potential is meager. Dendritic drainage pattern in the area shows that the area consists of homogeneous rock material which is structurally undisturbed. Form factor and circulatory ratio statics indicates basin shape is elongated the results clearly indicate relations among various morphometric attributes of the basin and help to understand their role in sculpturing the surface of the region. These studies are very useful for planning rainwater harvesting and watershed management.

Abstract (sommario):
The geomorphological structure and the morphometric features are characterized, the structural-morphometric constructions of the territory of the Kremenets Mountains are conducted and analyzed. The multi-order maps of the baseline and vertex surfaces, the residual relief, and the local erosion are created with the help of the software called AcrGis. The features of the geomorphological structure and the stage of the relief development are determined. Some regularities in the distribution of the morphometric indicators of the different parts of the Kremenets Mountains are revealed. Twelve morphometric different-genetic and different-order maps are constructed, and the surface of the top, baseline, residual and erosion relief are made and analyzed in accordance with the hypsometric and morphometric characteristics for this analysis. The method of the constructing of the map models for the structural and the morphometric analysis are presented. The comparison of vertices and bases of different order, as well as vertex – basal surfaces are analyzed, which allowed revealing the latest and modern movements of the earth's crust, the quantitative estimation of the amplitude of the vertical movements. The altitude differences in the characteristics of model comparisons are presented. The analysis and the comparison of the models allowed establishing the nature of the latest movements, the ratio of the denudation and the accumulation, the intensity of the erosion processes of the formation of the different stages of the investigated territory. The maps of the apex, basal, residual, erosion relief, which are created, serve as a basis for the comparison of the different top and base surfaces and the single-row top-base surfaces with the linear and the annular tectonic structures (the analysis of the latest tectonogenesis) in the future publications. Key words: basic surface, vertex surface, watershed, erosion network, residual relief, local erosion, morphometric analysis, digital terrain model, watercourses order, neotectonic movements, North-Podillia ledge.

Abstract (sommario):
The examination of morphometric parameters through quantitative analysis proves highly valuable in assessing river basins, prioritizing watersheds for soil and water conservation, and natural resources management. In this study, an in-depth analysis of the Dachigam Catchment has been conducted, focusing on the quantification of various morphometric parameters. The research employs Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques to assess morphometric parameters in the micro-watersheds of the Dachigam Catchment. Linear and areal morphometric parameters were systematically derived and tabulated based on linear and shape characteristics of drainage channels, utilizing GIS and topographical maps (scale 1:50,000). The morphometric analysis conducted in the Dachigam catchment indicates that the basin has an elongated shape, suggesting that peak discharges would generally exhibit a flat profile and take time to rise. The drainage network within the basin is predominantly of the dendritic type, signifying a degree of homogeneity in texture. The slope analysis shows that the Dachigam watershed has a significant amount of steep terrain, ranging from 0 to 74.63%. The majority of the area falls within the 24 to 35% slope range. Examination of the aspect indicates that slopes oriented towards the south and southwest are the most prevalent in the basin. The watershed's mean bifurcation ratio is 1.71. This low ratio suggests that the watershed hasn't experienced significant distortion. In contrast, high bifurcation ratios exceeding 5 typically indicate distorted drainage patterns. The research illustrates how remote sensing and GIS methods can effectively analyze watershed morphometrics. These techniques offer valuable insights for planners and decision-makers involved in watershed-level planning and drainage basin management.

Abstract (sommario):
In this article we argue for the need to create a geomorphometric atlas of ice-free Antarctic territories. Geomorphometric mapping of these territories is necessary to obtain new knowledge about quantitative characteristics of the topography of these unique objects and the further use of morphometric information to solve fundamental and applied problems of the geosciences. Key principles of the atlas concept are presented. A list of territories subject to geomorphometric mapping is completed. Fragments of the Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica will be used as initial data for calculations. For each territory, the atlas will present the following materials: 1) a series of morphometric maps (slope, horizontal curvature, vertical curvature, minimum curvature, maximum curvature, unsphericity, catchment area, topographic wetness index, stream power index, wind exposition index, etc.); 2) morphometry-derived thematic maps (landform classification, geological lineaments, etc.); 3) text reference materials. The atlas will concentrate multi-scale, multi-aspect quantitative information on the topography of ice-free Antarctic territories, present it in a systematized, organized, and easy-to-read form, provide scientific and information support for fundamental and applied research in Antarctica, and will also contribute to the implementation of Russia’s geopolitical interests in the southern polar region. Work on the creation of a geomorphometric atlas of ice-free Antarctic territories is of world scientific novelty and consolidates Russian priority in this area of research.

Abstract (sommario):
Geomorphometric modeling is widely used in geosciences. However, geomorphometric modeling and mapping of Antarctic oases has not been performed so far. This article presents the first results of geomorphometric modeling and mapping of the Larsemann Hills oasis obtained in the 68th Russian Antarctic Expedition in January–April 2023. As input data, we used a fragment of the Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA). From the extracted and edited digital elevation model, we derived models and maps of the following 17 morphometric variables: slope, aspect, horizontal curvature, vertical curvature, mean curvature, Gaussian curvature, minimal curvature, maximal curvature, unsphericity curvature, difference curvature, vertical excess curvature, horizontal excess curvature, ring curvature, accumulation curvature, catchment area, topographic index, and stream power index. We conducted a field geomorphometric interpretation to provide with correct physical geographic, geological, and geomorphological interpretations of morphometric maps. In this fieldwork, we carried out 54 foot routes with the total length of about 422 km. During the routes, we collected 150 rock samples for further petrological and mineralogical analyses and three-dimensional modeling of the samples. Morphometric maps can be useful for geological, geomorphological, soil, biological, and hydrological studies. The ultimate goal of the author’s multiyear project is to create a digital geomorphometric atlas of Antarctic oases and other ice-free Antarctic territories.

Abstract (sommario):
Determination of hydrographic characteristics on large-scale maps with maximum accuracy requires sufficient time and volume of cartometric work. The current level of geographic information systems (GIS) and computer technologies allows to reduce the volume of cartometric operations. The implementation of calculations of the morphometric characteristics of watercourses, reservoirs, and watersheds in the GIS environment ensures the determination of these properties regardless of the scale of maps, map projection, or distance from the axial meridian of a particular projection zone. This article demonstrates the use of analytical and numerical methods for cartometric and morphometric calculations on the reference ellipsoid. The researched calculation methods determine the geodetic areas of geospatial objects with root mean square errors from 0,030 to 0,809 m2.

The aim of the present paper is to determine the morphometric parameters and features of Boiului Valley hydrographic basin. The basin is located in a karst area, in Pădurea Craiului Mountains, Romania, which makes it special, as the rivers flow through soluble rocks. We selected a small basin in order to analyse its morphometric elements and check if the morphometric laws of hydrographic basins are respected in the same way by the rivers flowing in karst areas. We applied the classical working method, that is processing the information from the topographic maps and with the help of the ArcGis soft we managed to measure the major morphometric indicators: the surface of the basin, the area, the shape factor, the length and width of the basin, drainage basin asymmetry factor and sinuosity index.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Morphometric analysis is a powerful tool to understand the hydrological process quantitatively and the main requirement to determine the hydrological characteristics of a watershed. Morphometric analysis to determine the drainage characteristics of the Sedayu River Sub-watershed, Semaka District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung Province was carried out using Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data. The primary data used is aerial photography using drones, the location of aerial photos representing watersheds of concern. The catchment area morphometrics were obtained from the extraction of the morphometric characteristics of the combined DEM data from the mountain watershed and the analysis of topographic maps by using ArcGIS software. Based on reports over a period of time, at several points in the area there are frequent river floods that overflow during heavy rains. Morphometric analysis in flood-prone areas with high rainfall is needed. The morphology of the Sedayu area has contrasting variations consisting of several gentle alluvial plains, some of which are Bukit Barisan hills with varying slope variations. The Sedayu watershed in this study is divided into 3 sub-watersheds, namely: sub-watershed A, sub-watershed B, and sub-watershed C. However, only sub-watershed A is the focus of morphometric analysis because its longest river, record flood disasters, landslide records, and has upstream to residential. Morphometric analysis was carried out on parameters such as watershed area (A), watershed length (Lb), main river length (Ln ), watershed width (W), drainage density (Dd ), bifurcation ratio (Rb ), and circularity ratio (Rc ). The results of morphometric calculations are the length of the watershed 4.82 km, the length of the main river is Sub-watershed A 8.996 km, the width of the watershed 0.686 km, and watershed area 4.861 km2 Based on these results can be calculated drainage density (Dd ) 2.719 km/km2 which means Sub-watershed A of a rough type with the inundated surface, permeable sub-soil, and resistant to erosion. Bifurcation ratio (Rb ) is 3.333 which means sub-watershed A has a rapid rise and fall in floodwater. Then, the circularity Ratio (Rc ) 0.32 which means Sub-watershed A is elongated so that the peak discharge and decrease flow quickly and causes a link with the hydrological response of rainfall-runoff. The results of this morphometric characteristic analysis are the right reference for planning strategies for soil erosion control and soil conservation.

Abstract (sommario):
Meibography is becoming an integral part of dry eye diagnosis. Being objective and repeatable this imaging technique is used to guide treatment decisions and determine the disease status. Especially desirable is the possibility of automatic (or semi-automatic) analysis of a meibomian image for quantification of a particular gland’s feature. Recent reports suggest that in addition to the measure of gland atrophy (quantified by the well-established “drop-out area” parameter), the gland’s morphological changes may carry equally clinically useful information. Here we demonstrate the novel image analysis method providing detailed information on local deformation of meibomian gland pattern. The developed approach extracts from every Meibomian image a set of six morphometric color-coded maps, each visualizing spatial behavior of different morphometric parameter. A more detailed analysis of those maps was used to perform automatic classification of Meibomian glands images. The method for isolating individual morphometric components from the original meibomian image can be helpful in the diagnostic process. It may help clinicians to see in which part of the eyelid the disturbance is taking place and also to quantify it with a numerical value providing essential insight into Meibomian gland dysfunction pathophysiology.

Abstract (sommario):
The aim of this study was to compare the hydrographically conditioned digital elevation models (HCDEMs) generated from data of VNIR (Visible Near Infrared) sensor of ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer), of SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) and topographical maps from IBGE in a scale of 1:50,000, processed in the Geographical Information System (GIS), aiming the morphometric characterization of watersheds. It was taken as basis the Sub-basin of São Bartolomeu River, obtaining morphometric characteristics from HCDEMs. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and cross validation were the statistics indexes used to evaluate the quality of HCDEMs. The percentage differences in the morphometric parameters obtained from these three different data sets were less than 10%, except for the mean slope (21%). In general, it was observed a good agreement between HCDEMs generated from remote sensing data and IBGE maps. The result of HCDEM ASTER was slightly higher than that from HCDEM SRTM. The HCDEM ASTER was more accurate than the HCDEM SRTM in basins with high altitudes and rugged terrain, by presenting frequency altimetry nearest to HCDEM IBGE, considered standard in this study.

Abstract (sommario):
We present a taxonomic revision of the Colombian Tityus (Archaeotityus) species based on morphological and morphometric evidence. We examined more than 385 specimens and evaluated new and previously used qualitative and quantitative morphological characters. We redescribe the Colombian species and present morphological characters for both sexes and an emended diagnosis for the subgenus Tityus (Archaeotityus). We describe a new species Tityus guane sp. nov. from Santander department, Colombia, Tityus betschi Lourenço 1992 is synonymized with Tityus parvulus Kraepelin, 1914, and Tityus wayuu Rojas-Runjaic & Armas, 2007 is synonymized with Tityus tayrona Lourenço, 1991. We measured 186 specimens and performed a multivariate principal component analysis (PCA) for 34 selected morphometric ratios for each sex. We found that a few morphological ratios support species level distinctions within the Colombian species. We provide updated distributional maps with new records and an identification key for both sexes. Furthermore, we provide an updated checklist for the subgenus and a discussion about the character systems used within Tityus (Archaeotityus). The new morphological characters proposed and the traditional morphometry examined with a PCA are useful for studying Tityus (Archaeotityus) taxonomy.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This paper provides a quantitative assessment of debris flows, the morphometric properties of high-mountain lakes, and their catchments in the Slovak part of the High Tatra Mts. Our database comprises 29 high-mountain lakes in 11 valleys. We utilised vector models to derive some maps, and for a detailed study, we employed a digital elevation model of the study area and applied map algebra within a geographic information system environment. Using ArcGIS software, we calculated 18 morphometric parameters (such as basin orientation, topographic slope factor, basin length, basin ruggedness, etc.). This study is valuable for conducting various analyses of hydrological and morphometric characteristics of catchments. It is based on a comprehensive approach that integrates Earth remote sensing with aerial image interpretation and detailed field research of the High Tatra Mts.’ lakes. The study has shown a significant influence of morphometric parameters of catchments on the dynamics and frequency of morpho-dynamic processes.

Abstract (sommario):
Morphometric analysis is essential in evaluating the geomorphological development and hydrological characteristics of rivers and valley basins. Several studies used different DEM data to evaluate elevation accuracy or their impact on measurements of limited morphometric parameters. The current study was carried out on the Chai Dakuk River basin in the northeastern part of Iraq. The basin is bounded by latitudes 34°44'30"- 35°35'49"N and longitudes 44°17'39"- 45°28'16"E. The current study aims to evaluate the accuracy of different DEM data, i.e., ASTER-GDEM 1-arcsec, SRTM 1-arcsec, and 3- arcsec, ALOS-12.5 meters, and GMTED 7.5 arcsec data, based on reference points collected by GPS and top maps of scale 1: 20000, and to evaluate DEM resolution on the calculation accuracy of different morphometric parameters. The analysis of morphometric parameters was carried out using ArcGIS- morphometric toolbox. The results of the accuracy assessment of DEM data identified the SRTM 1arc-second is more adequate with reference measurements; based on that, the measurements of all other DEM are compared to the SRTM 1- arcsec. The results of morphometric parameters show noticeable differences in many morphometric parameters calculated from different DEM data. Numbers and lengths of stream orders; bifurcation ratios; main channel length; drainage density; stream frequency; constant of channel maintenance; compactness coefficient; drainage texture; infiltration number; basin outlet height and the maximum height of basin, total basin relief, and ruggedness number. According to the results, the study concluded that the SRTM 1- arcsec data are more suitable for morphometric analysis, followed by ASTER GDEM data.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of the research carried out on the territory of the Middle Dnieper Region is to determine the degree of dynamics of block structures and tectonic zoning with manifestations of structural and tectonic elements consistent with cartographic materials of geological surveys and field observations. The terrain is genetically related to the geological history of the formation of tectonic structures. The main relief elements are valley thalwegs and watershed lines, the formation of which reflects the interaction of tectonic movements with denudation and accumulation. To study the latest tectogenesis of the Middle Dnieper Region, a set of methods was used, primarily geological and geomorphological studies and structural and morphometric analysis in combination with materials from remote sensing of the Earth and analytical systems, which made it possible to confirm the genetic connection between the processes of geomorphogenesis and tectogenesis, between the forms of the earth’s surface and the structures of the earth’s surface. The use of Earth remote sensing data provided a high-quality interpretation of geological and geomorphological data and made it possible to construct a number of models and reconstruct the tectonic evolution of the Middle Dnieper Region, at the latest and present stages. The constructed high-order maps of the differences in the base surfaces allowed us to identify tectonic blocks and determine their dynamics. The lattice structure of the river network, which is confined to linearly elongated tectonic structures – fracture zones, fault zones that were active in modern times were discovered, delimiting regional block structures, against which smaller structures (microblocks) stand out. The resulting maps identified the main tectonic zones with different directions and intensities of differentiated movements at a maximum depth of 50–70 m. For the first time in the Middle Dnieper Region, the structural-morphometric method has been used to determine the peculiarities of regional and local factors of neotectogenesis, to refine the tectonic zoning, and to identify small microblock structures with heterogeneous dynamics in each of them. In the Middle Dnieper Region, according to the data obtained, areas with the greatest neotectonic activity of ascending movements and block structures were identified. For the first time on the territory of the Middle Dnieper Region, the method of structural morphometry, the features of regional and local factors of new tectogenesis were taken, tectonic zoning and small structures (microblocks) with heterogeneous dynamics in each of them were distinguished. The results show high efficiency of involvement of structural morphometry in a complex of methods of geological study and mapping of complex regions and are important for the analysis of the development of dangerous geological processes within the Middle Dnieper Region.

Abstract (sommario):
The article describes the method developed by the authors for revealing Earth surface regional linear morphological features (morphographic lineaments) by morphometric analysis of a digital elevation model (DEM). It also presents the results of the method application on the territory of Armenia in the Araks river basin. The method is based on the experience of a large number of studies devoted to this issue and includes the following successively performed procedures: 1) revealing of Earth surface linear features by formal morphometric indices extracted from the DEM, mainly based on the analysis of slope and aspect maps; 2) geomorphological identification of the revealed linear elements or their definition as real linear landforms; 3) structural identification of the revealed linear landforms, i.e. proving their identity with morphostructures according to geological features – their coincidence with the spatial localization of the epicenters of the historical earthquakes, ore deposits, mineral water springs, as well as the consistency of the identified morphostructures with the data of previously published articles and maps.

Abstract (sommario):
Background. The tectonic evolution of the Middle Dnipro region in modern times is particularly complex. The presented studies were conducted within the right-bank part of the Middle Dnipro, since the maximum activation of neotectonic activity zones is observed in this region, with significant gradients of the latest tectonic movements and their impact on the formation of the modern relief, that require a comprehensive assessment of the impact of geological and geomorphological factors on their formation. Methods. Structural and morphometric studies within the Middle Dnipro region, using remote sensing methods and spatial-analytical modeling, allowed us to determine morphometric parameters related to the terraced levels of the Dnipro River, the processes of deep erosion, denudation and accumulation, as well as the nature of recent and modern tectonic movements. Results. Detailed interpretation of multi-genetic and multi-order structural and morphometric maps, as well as in-depth geological analysis, allowed us to identify morphostructures and block structures of the crystalline basement (regional blocks and local microblocks), which are distinguished by differentiated tectonic movements and peculiarities of tectonic development. Сonclusions. The neotectonic conditions of formation and development of the paleorelief of the Right Bank of the Middle Dnieper are reconstructed. The peculiarities of the development of terraced levels in the Neogene and Quaternary periods are established. The obtained data can serve as a basis for analyzing the influence of tectonic movements on the activation of hazardous geological processes within the Middle Dnieper region and forecasting their development in the future.

Abstract (sommario):
Machine Learning (ML) techniques are now being used very successfully in predicting and supporting decisions in multiple areas such as environmental issues and land management. These techniques have also provided promising results in the field of natural hazard assessment and risk mapping. The aim of this work is to apply the Supervised ML technique to train a model able to classify a particular gravity-driven coastal hillslope geomorphic model (slope-over-wall) involving most of the soft rocks of Cilento (southern Italy). To train the model, only geometric data have been used, namely morphometric feature maps computed on a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) derived from Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data. Morphometric maps were computed using third-order polynomials, so as to obtain products that best describe landforms. Not all morphometric parameters from literature were used to train the model, the most significant ones were chosen by applying the Neighborhood Component Analysis (NCA) method. Different models were trained and the main indicators derived from the confusion matrices were compared. The best results were obtained using the Weighted k-NN model (accuracy score = 75%). Analysis of the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves also shows that the discriminating capacity of the test reached percentages higher than 95%. The model, resulting more accurate in the training area, will be extended to similar areas along the Tyrrhenian coastal land.

Abstract (sommario):
The administrative and economic structure of the territory of the Dnistrovskyi Regional Landscape Park (19,556 ha, 1993), located along the channel of the Dniestr river in the limits of Gorodenkivsky and Tlumatsky districts of Ivano-Frankivsk region, has been characterized. The literature and stock materials concerning geological structure and geomorphological features of the territory of the Dniester RLP were analyzed and the main features of its relief were presented. The park is located within the limits of six geomorphological sub-districts, united by two geomorphological regions: the Opil Structural-Deductive Wavy, the Highly Dissociated Heights, and the North Pokutsk Structural-Denductive Hollow-Wavy Heights of the Podolian structural-denudational high-rise geomorphological sub-districts. Using the ArcGis 10.2 functionality, based on the digitization of 1:50 000 topographic maps, a 3D model of relief and a series of morphometric maps (vertical and horizontal dismemberment of the terrain, the steepness of the earth’s surface, exposure of the slopes) are made, which describes the peculiarities of the relief of the nature conservation institution. Using the method of functional-morphometric assessment of the relief of the Bulgarian scientist H. Tishkov (1984), a functional recreational assessment of the RLP relief was carried out at the level of the geomorphological sub-regions and the areas designated for the development of various types of recreational activities were identified. The points obtained are included in the summary table, and the predominance of points determines the suitability of the territory for the respective type of recreational activity. According to the results of the evaluation, it is determined that the Bystritsko-Tlumatsky and Oleshansky subareas are most favorable for the development of sports tourism, Gorodenkivskyi – for leisure recreation and Burshtynskyi, Dnistersky and Chernelitsky subareas – for recreation. Abstract (sommario):
Morphometric analysis is used to understand the hydrological process and assessment of hydrological characteristics of surface water basin. In the present paper, an attempt has been made to study the detail morphometric characteristics of Kulbera and Daurighara river basin, which are tributaries of Subarnarekha River in Purulia district, West Bengal. For detailed study, SRTM data has been used for preparing digital elevation model (DEM), and Geographic Information System (GIS) has been used for the analysis of linear, areal, and relief aspects of the basins. Watershed boundary, flow accumulation, flow length, stream ordering have been prepared by using ILWIS 3.0. Different thematic maps i.e. elevation, geology, drainage density, slope and longitudinal profiles of river channels have been prepared by using QGIS 3.0 and MapInfo 10.0 GIS software. More than 58 morphometric parameters of all aspects of the basins have been computed. On the basis of morphometric analysis it has been argued that the erosional development has progressed well beyond maturity and that the drainage development is controlled by lithology. Besides,it can be concluded that this study will also be very useful for rain water harvesting planning and watershed management.

Abstract (sommario):
Floods are the main natural disasters in Brazil, causing loss of life and socioeconomic damage. This work proposes a model for the remote detection of areas that are naturally flood-prone due to the morphometric characteristics of their relief and drainage networks in the Alto Sapucaí River in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The morphometric parameters used were the drainage density, river density, relief ratio, roughness index, maintenance coefficient, form factor and stream surface length. The risk areas had a compactness coefficient of 0.75 and a form factor of 0.56, and both were considered a high risk for floods. The obtained results allowed the identification of a significant predictive equation that suggested a cutoff value of 3.82 for the discriminant function; areas with values under this cutoff were considered naturally more vulnerable to floods occurrences. These areas were corroborated with the emergency maps of the municipalities. The map obtained by the proposed model was compared with the Civil Defense map, and its accuracy, according to the Kappa coefficient, was 0.83, indicating strong similarity between the two maps.

Abstract (sommario):
The three major Valley systems of Bengaluru namely Vrishabhavathi Valley, Hebbal Valley and Kormangala-Challaghatta Valley houses many lakes and play a very important role in its hydrological processes. The morphometric analysis helps us to learn about the characteristics of the underlying rock type, pervious nature of soil, slope gradients, runoff behavior and water retention potential within the Valley systems. Morphometric analysis was carried out for Linear, areal and relief aspects. The Survey of India topographical maps and Digital Elevation Model data were used to prepare the base map and the drainage maps with the help of GIS software. The Strahler system of stream ranking was adopted. Among the three Valleys, Vrishabhavathi Valley is observed to be the largest Valley in terms of area and perimeter. Vrishabhavathi Valley basin has sixth order stream as the highest stream order where as the other two Valleys have fifth order stream as the highest order. The drainage pattern formed within the Valley systems was observed to be dendritic. The watershed shape factor showed that the Vrishabhavathi Valley is elongated in shape where as the K-C Valley and the Hebbal Valleys are less elongated in shape comparatively. The drainage density of the three Valleys revealed that they fall under coarse drainage density classification. The relief aspects of the three Valleys exhibit low reliefs indicating a flat surface. This helps in designing a sustainable management plan for the three major Valley systems in terms of their conservation and also ensure sustainable soil and water usage within the Valley systems.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in the morphometric characterization of a basin located in a transitional region between the São Francisco Plateau, São Francisco Depression and Espinhaço Range reliefs. For the study, four DEMs were generated by interpolation of the SRTM data and topographic maps, using the Topo To Raster interpolator with and without mapped hydrography support, available in ArcGIS® 9.3 software. Another DEM was obtained from the SRTM original data. From the generated DEMs, the morphometric characteristics of the basin were determined and compared to those obtained from topographic maps, denominated reference (REF), by means of percentage errors. The evaluation was also performed in a qualitative way, comparing the drainage and the basin delineations. In general, the DEMs obtained with the support of the mapped hydrography (SRTM-TRH and CT-TRH) provided the best results, with small errors, mainly for the main morphometric characteristics of the basin, drainage area and main river length, which ranged from 0.38 to 1.12% and 5.28 to 7.07%, respectively. On the other hand, the DEMs generated without the support of the mapped hydrography (SRTM-O, SRTM-TR and CT-TR) presented major errors mainly in determining the drainage area and length of the main river, which varied from 18.1 to 26.6% and 26.7 to 34.4%, respectively. These occurred due to a deviation of the main river in the São Franciscana Depression region, which allows us to conclude on the necessity and importance of evaluating DEMs before their use.

Abstract (sommario):
In watershed mountain basins, affected in the last decades by strong rainfall events, the role of debris-flow and debris flood processes was investigated. Morphometric parameters have proven to be useful first-approximation indicators in discriminating those processes, especially in large areas of investigation. Computation of morphometric parameters in 19 watershed mountain basins of the western side valley of the Vallo di Diano intermontane basin (southern Italy) was carried out. This procedure was integrated by a semi-automatic elaboration of the potential susceptibility to debris flows, using Flow-R modelling. This software, providing an empirical model of the preliminary susceptibility assessment at a regional scale, was applied in many countries of the world. The implementation of Flow-R modelling requires a GIS application and some thematic base maps extracted using DEMs analysis. A 5-meter-resolution DEM has been used in order to produce the susceptibility maps of the whole study area, and the results are compared and discussed with the real debris flow/flood events that occurred in 1993, 2005, 2010, and 2017 in the studied area. The results have provided a good reliability of Flow-R modelling within small catchment mountain basins.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to a detailed morphogenetic analysis of erosion topography of the right Volga river bank (Volgograd region, Russia). The estimation of the factors in the development of erosion processes: lithological, geomorphological, climatic, biotic. It is established that the general trends of the development and the propagation of gully systems depend on the zonal conditions, and their specificity from structural-lithological and geomorphological features of the area. The actual basis for the work, based on data from field observations, interpretation of satellite imagery, morphometric processing of topographic maps. The obtained results were used for compiling maps, morphometric characteristics of the relief and zoning of the right bank of the Volgograd city according to the intensity of erosion processes. It was established that the studied area is among the most erosion-affected territories in the European part of Russia with the average erosion density of the network from 0.10.3 up to 34 km/km2. Comparison of factors determining the intensity of the evolution and morphology of gully systems led to the conclusion that modern intensification of erosion is the result of economic activities.

Abstract (sommario):
This study is focused on the detection of circular features with different sizes, origins, and state of erosion as well as on their surrounding tectonic pattern based on different satellite images of Southern Algeria, Northern Mali and Northern Niger. Sentinel 2- and Landsat 8/9-images and Sentinel 1- and ALOS L-band Phased Array Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR)-radar data help to identify larger ring structures and smaller circular features, most of them related to magmatic intrusions into the subsurface, but also to cosmic impacts, with varying ages and state of erosion. Some of them seem to be unknown so far as they are partly covered by aeolian sediments and become only visible on radar images. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data and the DEM derived morphometric maps support these investigations in a GeoInformation System (GIS) embedded environment. Some of the ring structures are only visible on morphometric maps, traced by circular arrangements of slope gradients or concentric drainage patterns. The large, circular structures and the smaller circular features such as volcanic features (cinder cones, calderas, maars, impact craters) were digitized and merged in a GIS with available geologic information.

Abstract (sommario):
Palavras - chave: Neotectônica; Morfometria; Drenagem assimétrica; Rio Guruji Influence Neotectonics Identified by Means of Morphometric Data and Cartographic Products in the Guruji River Watershed (PB), Brazil ABSTRACTThis study aims to point out evidence of neotectonics in Guruji’s river watershed through morphometric analysis and cartographic products. The study area is located on the south coast of Paraiba State, Northeast Brazil; and the watershed in question has asymmetric drainage with tributaries more advantageous in the south portion. The methodology used for detection of neotectonic influences consist in the analysis and interpretation of numerical data obtained in the topographic maps and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and its derivatives (Slope map and 3D terrain model). The calculation used for the morphometric analysis neotectonic was Valley Floor-Valley Height (Vf) and the Hack Method – Slope Vs. Length (SL); and to investigate the slope of all mountain slope that make up the watershed was made the Slope map, which allowed a more comprehensive and accurate regressive erosion of drainage, incising fluvial and unevenness of tectonic origin. Keywords: Neotectonics; Morphometric; Drainage asymmetric; Guruji River

Abstract (sommario):
The article presents the results of nature-based and geodetic query of two neighbouring endorheic borrow pits, i.e., Bagry Wielkie and Staw Płaszowski (Bagry Małe), situated almost in the centre of the Krakow city. The movements of water tables in 2016–2023 were observed (from the moment of ecological disaster in the Staw Płaszowski, in February 2016) and bathymetric maps were presented. Based on geodetic measurements carried out in 2016–2022 and direct observations of nature, documenting biodiversity of both reservoirs in 2019–2022, the authors reviewed the state of biosphere in this location. Surveying, observations and interviews allowed parameterization of both water bodies (morphometric data and bathymetric maps) and creating up-to-date database (location on maps, qualitative and quantitative elements of flora and fauna). The material makes base for further studies with the application of more advanced photogrammetric technologies and UAV technologies, which can make data contained in this publication more accurate.
