Abstract (sommario):
Deficiency that cannot be reformed in the eye is the blindness. This research aims to investigate the potential benefits and limitations of incorporating electronic sensors and assistive technologies into traditional blind sticks to create a smart blind stick. A smart blind stick is a wearable device that provides additional functionality and features to help visually impaired individuals navigate their surroundings more safely and independently. A smart stick is planned with impediment identification module and object detection. A stick is made in a way that it can sense obstacles and staircases by using sensors. It also intimates the presence of water and manhole. Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to locate the visually impaired person as it is incorporated in the stick used. Global system for Mobile Communication (GSM) is also used. Status of the blind person will be notified to the guardian with the image and location. Overall, this research contributes to the development and improvement of assistive technologies for visually impaired individuals and provide insights for researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers on how to better support individuals with visual impairments.

Abstract (sommario):
In today's technologically advanced world, it's imperative to ensure that everyone, including visually impaired individuals, can navigate their surroundings safely and independently. In this paper, we present a novel solution: a Smart Blind Stick equipped with GPS tracking, a 2G GSM module, and ultrasonic sensors. This groundbreaking device is designed to improve the movement and safety of people with visual impairments by offering features such as live location monitoring, obstacle sensing, and communication functionalities. A smart blind stick is designed to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings safely. The length of a smart blind stick can vary, but it typically ranges from around 100 to 150 centimetres (3.3 to 4.9 feet). This length allows the user to detect obstacles on the ground and in their immediate vicinity. The weight of a smart blind stick is usually kept lightweight for easy handling and portability. It typically ranges from 200 to 500 grams (7 to 17.5 ounces), although this can vary depending on the materials used in its construction The integration of these features empowers users to navigate with confidence, enabling them to overcome barriers and explore the world around them more freely.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractThis paper focuses on the materialistic account of the blending and the way it shapes an original organism model. I aim to shed light on the threads of connections we can gather between the Presocratic and the Stoic views on the physical krasis of the body. The Stoics share with Parmenides and Empedocles the idea of a single material cosmic continuum in which thought and perception depend on the various blendings of the physical constituents of the body. Both of these naturalistic traditions are committed to the view that substance is continuous and undergoes constant and qualitative change. My point is to underline how this view of a sympathetic cosmos presupposes a model of the individuality that is radically open. Thus, by taking off the notion of the krasis, the Stoics take off a problem – namely, that of the organism – that is first fleshed out by the Presocratics – Parmenides and Empedocles in particular – philosophers. In this respect, the Stoic view of relational identity indebts to the Presocratic account, beyond and against the Aristotelian one.

Abstract: There are many aged people in our surrounding. They can’t walk without the help of other people of the society. One has to ask guidance to reach their destination. They have to face more struggles in their daily life. Today technology is growing to a greater extent, however there is no cost-effective device for aged people. The history of walking stick can be traced far back when the simple wooden stick was used by human for support. James Biggs of Bristol claims to have invented the walking stick in the year 1921. For an aged person it becomes difficult to do his/her day-to-day activities, therefore Smart walking stick can help people in moving and allowing them to perform their work easily, during walking in the street, which makes it very dangerous. GPS is used which tells the user about his current location. Keywords: Fall detector, Stick, GPS, GSM Module, LDR sensor, Torch.

Abstract (sommario):
The selling price is determined by the size of the cost, this aims to influence sales volume, but production volume is directly affected by sales, and costs are affected by sales volume where everything is interrelated with one another. The manager of the stick snack business is required to be able to make a decision to support the progress and goals set by the company. So that in the early stages of production this will determine the smooth running of the business so as not to suffer losses or at least return modale. This can show the success of a business from year to year whether it is progressing, fixed or declining. Return Points will be obtained when producing or selling 170 units of this product, and the total Renenue is IDR 17,000,000, then the target must be greater than 170 units, because if the target is below module 170 units, the company will incur a loss, if it is targeted to producing 230 units, the Total Revenue is IDR 23,000,000, the fixed costs are IDR 5,100,000, and the variable costs are IDR 16,100,000. The planned price/unit is IDR 100,000, so the company will modale return if it produces 170 units or sales IDR 17,000,000, and the company will get a profit of IDR 1,800,000 per month by selling 230 units of product in one month.

Abstract (sommario):
Visual impairment burdens the people heavily in today’s fast-moving culture. Although there are several measures for this impairment, many people skip such chances in fear of their economic condition. In view of helping those people, a sophisticated stick is designed using sensors like ultrasonic sensor, IR sensor and Arduino ICs. Electronically designed walking stick helps to trace the locations using GPS module and to avoid collisions through detection of objects at a certain range of distance from the person in all directions. Sensor placed beneath the bottom of the stick enables the identification of pits/hindrances on the ground. The visually impaired person will be alerted with a voice message generated using the voice recorder which records the response of all the sensors operating in different tracks. In this paper, GSM and sensors together have initiated the role of smart walking stick in the life of several human kinds.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: In the world, millions of visually impaired or blind people are living. They are always dependent on other people or trained pets to move through an unknown environment. A typical walking stick cannot meet the safety monitoring and guidance requirement of blind people. This paper focuses on designing and developing a smart cane capable of sensing and signaling the environmental features around visually impaired people. The proposed smart cane has two ultrasonic sensors for measuring the distance between the smart cane to the stationary and hanging objects found to be an obstacle. Alert signal is provided by the actuator when the obstacle is falling inside a threshold level of 2 meters. The design integrates a camera module ESP-32 to capture the moving object/people's image in addition to the obstacle detection. The camera module gets enable signal from the PIR sensor to capture the image of the moving object/person and save processor time. It also provides information about the situation around the blind person and their relatives in case of an emergency. It provides the implementation cost and power requirement of the smart cane to develop a camera-enabled stick .

Abstract (sommario):
Generally, blind people use a traditional cane (known as white cane) for moving from one place to another. Although, white cane is the international symbol of blindness, it could not help them to detect place and to avoid obstacles. In this paper, we represent a model of walking stick for blind people. It consists of GPS module, GPS Antenna, Arduino, ultrasonic sensor and buzzer. This stick can detect place and obstacles. Position detection part is done with GPS module and GPS antenna. Ultrasonic sensor is used for detecting obstacles. Here, the buzzer produces two types of sound. When the blind reaches to his destination, buzzer buzzes continuously. When the blind faces any obstacles, buzzer buzzes with interruption. By discovering these two types of sound, blind can be confirmed about his destination and also can avoid obstacles in front of him. The whole system is designed to be small, light and is used in conjunction with the white cane so that it could ensure safety of the blind.

Abstract (sommario):
One of the major issue faced by blind people are moving from one place to another. Also they get stress while walking along bad conditions of the road. All the time, they are alerted by others to avoid obstacles, staircases and wet terrain. This paper addresses the above issues of blind people with the intervention of technology. Also proffer the development of an electronic stick for blind person to assist them gain self-sufficiency. In the proposed model, an electronic stick was consolidated with an ultrasonic transducer, water circuit and RF transmitter and receiver module. The ultrasonic sensor will sense the obstacle within the span and notify the blind person with the help of buzzer. The water circuit when acquire with the water, it get short circuited and make buzzer to sound. Also, provides a way to find the misplaced stick in indoor. When the person presses the button in the remote, the stick will notify the blind person to realize the stick. Since this is simple, economical and not substantial, one can hold it easily. The prototype model was implemented and the entire setup functions were controlled by using the Arduino ATMEGA 328-PU microcontroller.

Abstract (sommario):
It is estimated that globally, 285 million people in the world are visually impaired, while 39 million are completely blind. Visual impairment may cause difficulties for people to do their daily activities. There is a need for innovative, ambient, or active assisted living (IAAL) solution(s) to be designed, developed, and deployed for the visually impaired individuals. This paper presents a design of a smart stick for visually impaired individuals as an IAAL solution. The smart stick comprises ultrasonic sensors to detect objects and obstacles, a camera to capture the objects, a GPS module for location update and navigation, and a Raspberry Pi 3B+ which acts as a central unit for the whole system. The smart stick was tested in different environments and backgrounds. The image classification and object detection accuracy of the smart stick system was within the range of 59 per cent to 89 per cent (minimum and maximum range). The smart stick helped the visually impaired individuals to manage walking around their environment. The proposed system will improve the life of visually impaired people since it managed to accurately identify and detect objects with a 89 per cent accuracy level at a one meter distance.

Abstract (sommario):
Visually challenged people (VCPs) face many difficulties in their routine life. Usually, in many cases, they need to depend upon others, which makes them unconfident in an unfamiliar environment. Thus, in this paper, we present an aid that helps in detecting obstacles and water puddles in their way. This system comprises a walking stick and Android-based applications (APPs). The walking stick is embedded with Raspberry Pi and programmable interface controller (PIC) as a control kernel, sensors, a global position system (GPS) module, and alert-providing components. Sensors help to detect obstacles, and the VCP is informed through vibrations or a buzzer according to the obstacle detected. The GPS module receives the coordinates of the VCP’s location, and the location can be tracked by parents using an APP. Another important APP is used, called an emergency APP, by which the VCP can communicate with parents or friends immediately by just shaking his/her cell phone or pushing the power button four times in 5 s in panic situations. We used fewer components to make the device simple, lighter, and cozy with very good features. This device will help VCPs to live an independent life up to some extent (with security), which ultimately will increase their confidence level in an unknown environment.

Abstract (sommario):
All types of sports are potential application scenarios for automatic and real-time visual object and event detection. In rink hockey, the popular roller skate variant of team hockey, it is of great interest to automatically track player movements, positions, and sticks, and also to make other judgments, such as being able to locate the ball. In this work, we present a real-time pipeline consisting of an object detection model specifically designed for rink hockey games, followed by a knowledge-based event detection module. Even in the presence of occlusions and fast movements, our deep learning object detection model effectively identifies and tracks important visual elements in real time, such as: ball, players, sticks, referees, crowd, goalkeeper, and goal. Using a curated dataset consisting of a collection of rink hockey videos containing 2525 annotated frames, we trained and evaluated the algorithm’s performance and compared it to state-of-the-art object detection techniques. Our object detection model, based on YOLOv7, presents a global accuracy of 80% and, according to our results, good performance in terms of accuracy and speed, making it a good choice for rink hockey applications. In our initial tests, the event detection module successfully detected an important event type in rink hockey games, namely, the occurrence of penalties.

Abstract (sommario):
India has an estimated 12 million visually impaired people and is home to the world’s largest number in any country. Smart walking stick devices use various technologies including machine vision and different sensors for improving the safe movement of visually impaired persons. In machine vision, accurately recognizing an object that is near to them is still a challenging task. This paper provides a system to enable safe navigation and guidance for visually impaired people by implementing an object recognition module in the smart walking stick that uses a local feature extraction method to recognize an object under different image transformations. To provide stability and robustness, the Weighted Guided Harris Corner Feature Detector (WGHCFD) method is proposed to extract feature points from the image. WGHCFD discriminates image features competently and is suitable for different real-world conditions. The WGHCFD method evaluates the most popular Oxford benchmark datasets, and it achieves greater repeatability and matching score than existing feature detectors. In addition, the proposed WGHCFD method is tested with a smart stick and achieves 99.8% recognition rate under different transformation conditions for the safe navigation of visually impaired people.

Abstract (sommario):
The research is presented a kind of cooling device for a vehicles brake cooling system, which comprises a thermoelectric cooling (TEC) chip and a heat exchange system. The disc-brake and drum-brake systems are discussed in the research. After inputting electric power, the TEC chip provides one cooling surface which is stick on the brake system and absorbs the heat from the brake pads or shoes. The other surface releases heat which is absorbed by a recycle water-cooling system to discharge the heat by water-cooled radiator to the surrounding. It decreased the working temperature of the brake system about 30% at most after using this cooling device and increased the braking force about 30% at least. There is a temperature control device for the device which can start the TEC chip when the temperature of the brake pads or shoes exceeded 50, which is the lowest temperature that the brake pads or shoes can maintain the most performance of the braking force. The device can efficiently keep the braking force when the driver uses the brake to reduce the vehicles speed for a long time and provide the safety for the driver.
