Abstract (sommario):
Abstract (sommario):
The space of homomorphisms between a projective object and a Verma module in category $\mathcal O$ inherits an induced filtration from the Jantzen filtration on the Verma module. On the other hand there is the Andersen filtration on the space of homomorphisms between a Verma module and a tilting module. Arkhipov's tilting functor, a contravariant self-equivalence of a certain subcategory of $\mathcal O$, which maps projective to tilting modules induces an isomorphism of these kinds of Hom-spaces. We show that this equivalence identifies both filtrations.

Abstract (sommario):
We consider filtrations of objects in an abelian category [Formula: see text] induced by a tilting object T of homological dimension at most two. We define three extension closed subcategories [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] with [Formula: see text] for j > i, such that each object in [Formula: see text] has a unique filtration with factors in these categories. In dimension one, this filtration coincides with the classical two-step filtration induced by the torsion pair. We also give a refined filtration, using the derived equivalence between the derived categories of [Formula: see text] and the module category of [Formula: see text].

Abstract (sommario):
Let G G be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field F \mathbb {F} of characteristic p ≥ h p \geq h , the Coxeter number of G G . We observe an easy ‘recursion formula’ for computing the Jantzen sum formula of a Weyl module with p p -regular highest weight. We also discuss a ‘duality formula’ that relates the Jantzen sum formula to Andersen’s sum formula for tilting filtrations and we give two different representation theoretic explanations of the recursion formula. As a corollary, we also obtain an upper bound on the length of the Jantzen filtration of a Weyl module with p p -regular highest weight in terms of the length of the Jantzen filtration of a Weyl module with highest weight in an adjacent alcove.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper is primarily concerned with the integral and asymptotic closure operations on a multiplicative lattice relative to the greatest element of a lattice module having the ascending chain condition. We show that a cancellation law holds for the asymptotic closure of elements of the multiplicative lattice and we ultimately show, by means of multiplicative filtrations and filtration transforms, that the asymptotic closure of an element in a multiplicative lattice relative to the greatest element of a lattice module, coincides with its integral closure relative to this element in the lattice module.

Abstract (sommario):

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractGiven a locally finite $$X \subseteq {{{\mathbb {R}}}}^d$$ X ⊆ R d and a radius $$r \ge 0$$ r ≥ 0 , the k-fold cover of X and r consists of all points in $${{{\mathbb {R}}}}^d$$ R d that have k or more points of X within distance r. We consider two filtrations—one in scale obtained by fixing k and increasing r, and the other in depth obtained by fixing r and decreasing k—and we compute the persistence diagrams of both. While standard methods suffice for the filtration in scale, we need novel geometric and topological concepts for the filtration in depth. In particular, we introduce a rhomboid tiling in $${{{\mathbb {R}}}}^{d+1}$$ R d + 1 whose horizontal integer slices are the order-k Delaunay mosaics of X, and construct a zigzag module of Delaunay mosaics that is isomorphic to the persistence module of the multi-covers.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractWe provide ℕ-filtrations on the negative part Uq($\mathfrak{n}$−) of the quantum group associated to a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, such that the associated graded algebra is a skew-polynomial algebra on $\mathfrak{n}$−. The filtration is obtained by assigning degrees to Lusztig's quantum PBW root vectors. The possible degrees can be described as lattice points in certain polyhedral cones. In the classical limit, such a degree induces an ℕ-filtration on any finite-dimensional simple $\mathfrak{g}$-module. We prove for type An, Cn, B3, D4 and G2 that a degree can be chosen such that the associated graded modules are defined by monomial ideals, and conjecture that this is true for any $\mathfrak{g}$.

Abstract (sommario):
The glass ball inserted membrane module presented in this study is designed to enhance filtration in a flat sheet membrane. Three different modes of filtration experiments were conducted and compared to demonstrate flux enhancement due to the presence of glass balls: a normal dead-end filtration, a vortex flow filtration, and an enhanced vortex flow filtration using glass balls. In the case of enhanced vortex flow filtration the permeate flux was found to be three times as large as that of the dead-end filtration, and two times larger compared with the vortex flow filtration. In addition, the flux decline was observed to be relatively low. The effect of the amount of glass balls on the permeate flux was also investigated by changing the values of glass ball volume fraction from 0.059 to 0.356. It has been observed that the permeate flux shows a maximum value of the volume fraction of 0.119. For the glass ball inserted membrane module, the permeate flux tends to increase with the feed flow rate.

Abstract (sommario):
The filtration characteristics of two different module configurations with coarse pore filter (non-woven fabric) were investigated for sludge floc separation in an activated sludge reactor for domestic wastewater reclamation. A polypropylene non-woven fabric filter (35 g/m2) was used for the two different module configurations, one flat and one tubular type, each with a filtration area of 0.052 m2. The different module types, submerged in the oxic compartment of A/O (anaerobic/oxic) type reactors, were operated simultaneously. The filtration fluxes were gradually increased from 0.5 to 1.2 and 1.73 m/d. The filtration pressures were more stably maintained for the tubular type module than the plate type. The tubular type module installed horizontally with two-side suction showed less filtration pressures than the tubular type module installed vertically with one-side suction. The solid separation was significantly high showing less than 5 mg/L effluent solids. The organic and T-N removal efficiencies were around 95 and 50%, respectively. The 85% removal of T-P was achieved with 20 mg/L injection of PAC (poly-aluminum chloride).

Abstract (sommario):
This work aimed to design, construct and operate a new laboratory scale water filtration system. This system was used to examine the efficiency of two ceramic filter discs as a medium for water filtration. These filters were made from two different ceramic mixtures of local red clay, sawdust, and water. The filtration system was designed with two rotating interfered modules of these filters. Rotating these modules generates shear force between water and the surfaces of filter discs of the filtration modules that works to reduce thickness of layer of rejected materials on the filters surfaces. Each module consists of seven filtration units and each unit consists of two ceramic filter discs. The average measured hydraulic conductivity of the first module was 13.7mm/day and that for the second module was 50mm/day. Results showed that the water filtration system can be operated continuously with a constant flow rate and the filtration process was controlled by a skin thin layer of rejected materials. The ceramic water filters of both filtration modules have high removal efficiency of total suspended solids up to 100% and of turbidity up to 99.94%.

Abstract (sommario):
The largest quantities of by-product of the dairy, namely whey comes from the cheese making. The whey proteins are used by the agriculture in animal nutrition, and by the human nutrition as well; dry soups, infant formulas and supplements. The aim of our experiments was the separation of the lipid fraction of whey. During the measurements 0.05 μm, 0.2 μm and 0.45 μm microfiltration membranes were used in vibrating membrane filtration equipment (VSEP) and in a laboratory tubular membrane module. During the microfiltration, analytical characteristics, the fouling and the retention values were examined. Using the VSEP and the tubular module made possible to compare the effect of vibration, the static mixer and/ the airflow on the separation parameters.

AbstractIn this paper the authors produce a projective indecomposable module for the Frobenius kernel of a simple algebraic group in characteristic p that is not the restriction of an indecomposable tilting module. This yields a counterexample to Donkin’s longstanding Tilting Module Conjecture. The authors also produce a Weyl module that does not admit a p-Weyl filtration. This answers an old question of Jantzen, and also provides a counterexample to the {(p,r)}-Filtration Conjecture.

Abstract (sommario):
This study is about the particle retention and filtration characteristics of fibre filter. Four laboratory scale fibre filters with different heights were used in parallel at various packing densities and filtration velocities. Of all of the operating parameters studied, filtration velocity had the most influence. Contrary to general theories, pressure drop increases slightly during the filtration in spite of the continuous retention of particles. This may have occurred because of large porosity of the packing (about 93%). This might be considered an advantage of the filter and something that makes it economic. The higher the filtration velocity, the larger the mass of particles retained in the filter. For filtration velocities of 20 and 40 m/h, particles smaller than 5 μm are retained as proven by the particle size distribution at the inlet and outlet.

Abstract (sommario):
In order to achieve an efficient and economical advanced drinking water system, the relationship between operating conditions, membrane filtration flux and water qualities was examined by using a pilot plant consisting of ozonation facility, ozone resistant microfiltration (MF) module and granular activated carbon (GAC) tower. It was found that keeping residual ozone of more than 0.3 mg/L on the membrane surface is necessary in order to obtain a high membrane filtration flux. Withy ozone dosage of 3 mg/L by ejector and filtration by dead-end mode, this new system provided a high membrane filtration flux of more than 5 m3/m2/day. Quality of the produced water from the GAC tower was meeting the drinking water standard.

Abstract (sommario):
With biofilm reactor and continuous membrane filtration as the core, this paper proposes to establish biochemical module and membrane processing module, which can from the biofilm - membrane filtration process. In the part of biochemical module, diverse processing function can be realized by adjusting the operation conditions of the pumps and fans. Meanwhile, the number and operation condition of biochemical module could be changed flexibly according to the actual processing needs. Thereby, the standardization and generalization of biochemical module can be achieved. And in the part of membrane processing module, the processing capacity can also be expanded through frequency converting control and increasing the number of membrane module. An engineering project of decentralized sewage reuse is built, and the outlet water quality can reach the expected standard, which suggests that the modular design concept has good feasibility.

Abstract (sommario):
To any orientable 3-manifold one can associate a module, called the (2, ∞)-skein module, which is essentially a generalization of the Jones polynomial of links in S3. For an uncountable collection of open contractible 3-manifolds, each constructed in a fashion similar to the classic Whitehead manifold, we prove that their (2, ∞)-skein modules are infinitely generated, torsion free, but not free. These examples stand in stark contrast to [Formula: see text], whose (2, ∞)-skein module is free on one generator. To each of these manifolds we associate a subgroup G of the rationals which may be interpreted via wrapping numbers. We show that the skein module of M has a natural filtration by modules indexed by G. For the specific case of the Whitehead manifold, we describe its (2, ∞)-skein module and associated filtration in greater detail.

Abstract (sommario):
We have developed a novel ozone resistant microfiltration (MF) module using an organic hollow fiber membrane made of polyvinylidenefluoride (PVDF). A new filtration system using this MF module together with ozone dose provided three to four times higher permeate flux compared with the filtration without ozone. The reaction of ozone with organic materials in feed water was necessary to occur on the surface of the membrane to have higher permeate flux.

Abstract (sommario):
The in-line coagulation/ultrafiltration (UF) combined process has been studied in order to improve membrane performance for the treatment of surface water with high organic content. Ultrafiltration experiments were performed using cellulose derivative hollow-fibre membranes with ferric chloride as coagulant. The efficacy of adding coagulant just before the membrane module depends on the filtration mode, the process configuration and the module design. In dead-end mode, permeation flux of 70 l/hm2 can be maintained, but high backwash frequency (low recovery) is necessary to prevent plugging. Cross-flow filtration was effective in reducing fouling and allows operation at higher permeation flux. In cross-flow filtration, the feed-and-bleed configuration (single stage continuous process) appears promising to reduce backwash frequencies: for a recovery of 95% and at a permeation flux of 120 l/h.m2, quasi-steady transmembrane pressure can be maintained with a low fouling rate (10 kPa in 400 min.). In cross-flow filtration, the use of curved modules with Dean vortices reduces the fouling rate by a factor of 2 compared with a conventional straight module.

Next, generalizing the simple modules occurring in the associated graded ring grLn, we give some explicit constructions of weight multiplicity-free irreducible representations of gl(n).

Abstract (sommario):
Spacer-induced flow shadows and limited mechanical stability due to module construction and geometry are the main obstacles to improving the filtration performance and cleanability of microfiltration spiral-wound membranes (SWMs), applied to milk protein fractionation in this study. The goal of this study was first to improve filtration performance and cleanability by utilising pulsed flow in a modified pilot-scale filtration plant. The second goal was to enhance membrane stability against module deformation by flow-induced friction in the axial direction (“membrane telescoping”). This was accomplished by stabilising membrane layers, including spacers, at the membrane inlet by glue connections. Pulsed flow characteristics similar to those reported in previous lab-scale studies could be achieved by establishing an on/off bypass around the membrane module, thus enabling a high-frequency flow variation. Pulsed flow significantly increased filtration performance (target protein mass flow into the permeate increased by 26%) and cleaning success (protein removal increased by 28%). Furthermore, adding feed-side glue connections increased the mechanical membrane stability in terms of allowed volume throughput by ≥100% compared to unmodified modules, thus allowing operation with higher axial pressure drops, flow velocities and pulsation amplitudes.

Abstract (sommario):
Let $L$ be a complete discrete valuation field of prime characteristic $p$ with finite residue field. Denote by $\Gamma_{L}^{(v)}$ the ramification subgroups of $\Gamma_{L}=\operatorname{Gal}(L^{\mathrm{sep}}/L)$. We consider the category $\operatorname{M\Gamma}_{L}^{\mathrm{Lie}}$ of finite $\mathbb{Z}_p[\Gamma_{L}]$-modules $H$, satisfying some additional (Lie)-condition on the image of $\Gamma_L$ in $\operatorname{Aut}_{\mathbb{Z}_p}H$. In the paper it is proved that all information about the images of the groups $\Gamma_L^{(v)}$ in $\operatorname{Aut}_{\mathbb{Z}_p}H$ can be explicitly extracted from some differential forms $\widetilde{\Omega} [N]$ on the Fontaine etale $\phi $-module $M(H)$ associated with $H$. The forms $\widetilde{\Omega}[N]$ are completely determined by a canonical connection $\nabla $ on $M(H)$. In the case of fields $L$ of mixed characteristic, which contain a primitive $p$th root of unity, we show that a similar problem for $\mathbb{F}_p[\Gamma_L]$-modules also admits a solution. In this case we use the field-of-norms functor to construct the corresponding $\phi $-module together with the action of the Galois group of a cyclic extension $L_1$ of $L$ of degree $p$. Then our solution involves the characteristic $p$ part (provided by the field-of-norms functor) and the condition for a "good" lift of a generator of $\operatorname{Gal}(L_1/L)$. Apart from the above differential forms the statement of this condition uses the power series coming from the $p$-adic period of the formal group $\mathbb{G}_m$.

Abstract (sommario):
Flux decline and clogging mechanism in hollow fiber bundle by activated sludge and kaolin clay suspensions were investigated experimentally. Filtration characteristics of hollow fiber bundles consisting of 10 fiber threads but different in packing density were observed. The main reason for severe flux decline was due to the accumulation of particles at the space in between fibers. The results showed that there was no particle accumulation when fiber packing density β was lower than a critical value βa. Maximum filtration flux and maximum membrane productivity Q/Vr,which is defined as the filtration rate per unit volume of bundle, were obtained below and at this point, respectively. When fiber packing density β was increased, accumulation of particles happened and flux declined rapidly to a minimum, then increased to a maximum and then decreased when surface clogging predominated in the case of activated sludge filtration, but remained almost constant for the case of kaolin clay suspensions. The critical point where accumulation of particles started was related to cross flow velocity. The higher the cross flow velocity, the higher the value of βa obtained.

Abstract (sommario):
The provision of clean water for all Indonesians is one of the objectives of the government that is still constrained by the limitations of the existing water supply infrastructure. Some areas, especially rural or remote areas, are still hard to reach by the clean water facilities of the Regional Water Company. Whereas the groundwater resources in this region are abundant but can't be explored optimally to meet the needs of clean water and proper consumption for the surrounding community. The availability of water is not balanced with its quality, especially as qualified water for consumption. Some other characteristics of rural areas such as poor sanitation and the presence of agricultural waste pollutants, result in groundwater quality being further away from the standard of consumption. Although there are some commercial water filtration technologies available, they are generally expensive, with limited capacity, and not intended for mass use. For that reason, a new breakthrough, by designing proper technology, which is not only affordable but also easy to use and have sufficient capacity to meet the needs of the community. This research used Quality Function Deployment followed by Functional Analysis Systems Technique to get the character of the user and design requirement of groundwater filtration technology which suitable with the community needs and water quality condition in rural areas. The result is a design of filtration technology consists of five main modules, namely filtration module, information module high voltage module, reactor module, and rack module. This design is expected to be the basis for developing clean water technologies for people in rural areas or others that are difficult to reach by the Regional Water Company infrastructure.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractFor a ∇-module M over the ring K[[x]]0 of bounded functions over a p-adic local field K we define the notion of special and generic log-growth filtrations on the base of the power series development of the solutions and horizontal sections. Moreover, if M also admits a Frobenius structure then it is endowed with generic and special Frobenius slope filtrations. We will show that in the case of M a ϕ–∇-module of rank 2, the Frobenius polygon for M and the log-growth polygon for its dual, Mv, coincide, this is proved by showing explicit relationships between the filtrations. This will lead us to formulate some conjectural links between the behaviours of the filtrations arising from the log-growth and Frobenius structures of the differential module. This coincidence between the two polygons was only known for the hypergeometric cases by Dwork.

Abstract (sommario):
Membrane filtration processes have become widely used for low turbidity water sources that require particle removal and disinfection. In cases where the feed water contains high turbidity levels or high fouling tendencies, pre-treatment has been required to allow the membranes to operate efficiently. Submersion membranes have allowed direct treatment on many of these water supplies but operate under vacuum. This presents limitations on operating flux and design conditions for incorporating into existing facilities. The treatment unit designs are also very expensive to implement for small water treatment applications. A recently developed pressure driven ultrafiltration (UF) membrane is being tested on several different water sources and has demonstrated exceptional operation on high turbidity feed water sources. The module design includes a single potted end with the membrane fibers looped on the bottom to allow draining of solids from the module. The UF membrane filters outside to inside and has been operated on feed water turbidity levels up to 200 ntu. The availability of a pressure driven hollow fiber membrane that can efficiently filter high suspended solids water sources can provide a cost effective solution for many small to medium sized water supplies. Conditioning the feed water with a coagulant or direct filtration of high turbidity feed water can be used depending on the organic material present without settling or other clarification process. This eliminates the need for additional structural pretreatment and reduces overall system cost and size. Current limitations include the module size that makes this cost prohibitive for very large systems. Larger membrane systems where high-suspended solids are present in the feed water have been utilizing immersion membrane technologies more and more over the past few years. These systems typically operate under a vacuum and can be used for large water treatment plants as their design allows large filtration modules such as Memcor's CMFS filter block at 880 m3/hr. This allows significant capital cost reductions and allows membrane filtration to be competitive to conventional filtration technologies for virtually all filtration applications. This paper will review the economics and performance of both pressure driven and immersion membrane systems for small to large water supply systems on feed water containing high-suspended solid levels. Actual testing data for the new pressure driven hollow fiber UF membrane and immersion membrane systems will be provided on different water supplies including unconditioned surface water, filter backwash water and coagulated surface water.

Abstract (sommario):
Let G be a connected reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field k of prime characteristic p, and 𝔤 = Lie (G). In this paper, we study representations of the reductive Lie algebra 𝔤 with p-character χ of standard Levi form associated with an index subset I of simple roots. With aid of the support variety theory, we prove that a Uχ(𝔤)-module is projective if and only if it is a strong "tilting" module, i.e., admitting both [Formula: see text]- and [Formula: see text]-filtrations. Then by an analogy of the arguments in [2] for G1T-modules, we construct so-called Andersen–Kaneda filtrations associated with each projective 𝔤-module of p-character χ, and finally obtain sum formulas from those filtrations.

Abstract (sommario):
In the present study, an orthogonal array design was adopted to investigate effects of operational parameters including aeration intensity, membrane configuration and fiber length on membrane fouling in a lab scale. Mean membrane permeability decrease rate over the operation time was used to evaluate membrane fouling rate (MFR). In a constant pressure filtration mode of 15kPa, fiber length and aeration intensity were found to have a negative influence on MFR,and membrane configuration also had an obvious influence on MFR. The three factors in influencing MFR is in the order of fiber length>module configuration>aeration intensity. The experiments results also showed that the mean specific permeability displayed a slightly rise in the range of 60-100cm and the modules of two permeate outlet attain the best mean specific permeability in all the modules. According to this work, it show that membrane module design have a significance on membrane optimization.
