Abstract (sommario):
Abstract We have studied physical mine rescue training programs and health-related and rescue-related fitness tasks during a mine rescue competition, made in China and Australia and on these basis we have design our own pre physical training method. We have stored the heart rate measured in bites per minute (bpm) during the 2012 year periodical training for 21 mine rescuers. We have designed a physical training procedure based on six training models: Body Building, Method of isometric efforts, Method of Interval Training, Volume variation method, Structured method for basic grip and release and Specific work method. Then we measured again during the 2014 year periodical training, the heart rate for the same mine rescuer having the physical training procedure performed before. We have notice that the trained person have now lower bpm, during the tests that could represent better performances during the rescue actions. Our research were made in the Laboratory for Risk-Rescue Operations of the INCD INSEMEX Petroşani, Romania.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractThe Quick-Erect Stopping System (QESS) offers a new way of reducing the radon exposures of miners in Germany, especially during remediation work in old mines. The QESS is a light-weight, modular, and reusable construction kit of interlocking telescopic aluminum tubes, radon-proof foil, and expanding foam. It is designed to seal off radon-rich parts of galleries within only a few minutes. Originally, the QESS was developed to protect miners against radon exposures. Then, the QESS found the attention of several mine rescue teams at a German mining conference. The Student Mine Rescue of the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg and the Wismut Mine Rescue carried out first mine rescue drills in Freiberg and Schlema. Additionally, a mine rescue drill was carried out by the Front Range Mine Rescue in the Edgar Experimental Mine of the Colorado School of Mines. These drills helped to improve the system and highlighted its potential for mine rescue operations. Now, the QESS is well-suited for small-scale mining. The QESS can be used to seal off galleries in only a few minutes to both protect miners from radon exposures and to support mine rescue operations. Moreover, the QESS was also successfully used in ventilation experiments.

Methodology. Analysis of literary sources, technical documentation and the practice of using mining rescue equipment in the conditions of underground mining. Results. The analysis of the physical (energy) losses of rescuers during reconnaissance, emergency rescue operations, liquidation of the consequences of accidents, and the conducted research have allowed us to determine the technical characteristics of mobile means for delivering mine rescue equipment to the accident site and evacuating the victims of the accident through horizontal and vertical mine workings. The performed works have made it possible significantly increase the level of emergency protection of mining enterprises and occupational safety of miners, facilitate the work of personnel and, ultimately, the improve efficiency and reliability of the entire mining rescue service. Scientific novelty. The article proves that only a comprehensive approach to the development of mobile mining rescue equipment can provide an effective technological solution in the development of such equipment. Practical significance. Special vehicles developed for mining rescue units are suitable for operation in underground mining conditions. New technical solutions make it possible to transport rescue equipment in horizontal and vertical mines, which saves time and the health of mine rescuers. Developed and tested emergency and rescue technical means intended for mechanization during emergency and rescue operations in vertical shafts of mines, as well as during the performance by mine rescuers of technological works related to the inspection of the condition, for example, of ventilation shafts of mines that are not equipped with mechanized lifts. The reception commission confirmed the functionality of the developed equipment, its compliance with its intended purpose, and recommended the developed equipment for mass implementation both at enterprises and in units of the paramilitary mining and rescue service.

Abstract (sommario):
The coal mine environment is complex and dangerous after gas accident; then a timely and effective rescue and relief work is necessary. Hence prediction of gas concentration in front of coal mine rescue robot is an important significance to ensure that the coal mine rescue robot carries out the exploration and search and rescue mission. In this paper, a gray neural network is proposed to predict the gas concentration 10 meters in front of the coal mine rescue robot based on the gas concentration, temperature, and wind speed of the current position and 1 meter in front. Subsequently the quantum genetic algorithm optimization gray neural network parameters of the gas concentration prediction method are proposed to get more accurate prediction of the gas concentration in the roadway. Experimental results show that a gray neural network optimized by the quantum genetic algorithm is more accurate for predicting the gas concentration. The overall prediction error is 9.12%, and the largest forecasting error is 11.36%; compared with gray neural network, the gas concentration prediction error increases by 55.23%. This means that the proposed method can better allow the coal mine rescue robot to accurately predict the gas concentration in the coal mine roadway.

Abstract (sommario):
To ensure the structural safety and reliability of coal mine rescue capsule in disastrous surroundings after gas explosion, in this paper, the thermomechanical coupling effect on a certain structure subjected to gas explosion was analyzed, and then a novel rescue capsule with a combination of radius and square features was designed according to the underground surroundings and relevant regulations on mine rescue devices. Foremost, the coupling mechanism of thermal-fluid-solid interaction between gas explosion shock wave and rescue capsule and the thermal dynamic response of the capsule subjected to explosion load of gas/air mixture was investigated and revealed by employing LS-DYNA. The variation laws and characteristics of stress field, displacement field, and temperature field of the capsule were analyzed based on the simulation results. Results show that the structural safety, tightness, and reliability of the capsule meet the requirements of the national safety regulations. The design method presented in this work provides a new thought for design of coal mine rescue capsule.

Abstract (sommario):
High variation of efforts in the rescue activity entails very difficult demands in nature or intensity, but however limited they may be in the work process, they have an impact on the whole body. The predominance of body functions that are engaged in a professional activity, imprints the characteristics of work capacity. Thus, in the work capacity of underground personnel, whose activity requires a predominant physical effort, a main role is played by the locomotor apparatus and the kinaesthetic analyser and only secondarily by the visual and optical analysers. In the activity of rescue in toxic/explosive/flammable environments, physical and neuro-psychological demands intertwine and combine in an infinite number of variants. The paper will present the work capacity of the rescuers which is determined by a large number of factors: physiological factors, psychological factors, work environment and socio-economic factors.

Crippa, Simona. "Marguerite Duras : la tentation du théorique". Thesis, Paris 3, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA030102.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
For sure Marguerite Duras always thought about literature by comparing herself to the rest of literature and the artistic production of her time. Indeed, literature, cinema and theater are the reflexive centers of a constant thinking which shows how much theory is a main issue for the writer herself. Her apparent and negative odds against theory in general are all because of the wanderings of the dogmatic way of the theoretical spirit. Being an active member of the French Communist Party (PCF), sharing its ideological point of view and then quitting it made way for a severe criticism and gave to her literary works a doctrinal trial. Others theoretical and political commitments may decidedly show in contrast her intellectual attraction of the writer for her age which, between the 1960s and the 1980s, made theory and literary modernity look forward. This essay will show how theory is always on Duras’s Mind as it is for her such a temptation that she never totally succumbs to, and that came back as an obsession to haunt and question her works. This temptation marks at first place her life that went through a harsh political generation that also dealt with criticism and thinking. This temptation would also be an important part of her creativity process and made her way unto literary and artistic technicals. The Theoretical temptation she dealt with went on two different ways. She went on a public adventure but without never belonging to the chorus of her times or explicitly belonging to the New Novel too. She stood as a solitary voice, a voice of her that expressed herself as a intimate confidence. This voice whispered in her writings her personal and conceptual thoughts that escorted modernity in literature. Her voice made of theoretical temptation would mingle at last with her poetical voice which reveals, through a reflexive game, the productive strengh of her writing. Vowed to a never-ending movment unto the last word, beyond the walls of all genres, the tremendous creativity of Marguerite Duras will give birth to a mesmerizing landscape in her works that goes unto the modern writing

Abstract (sommario):
A research report submitted to the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Engineering, 2017
In the mining industry, communications systems are important for ensuring personnel safety and optimizing the mining processes underground. Achieving robust and reliable through-the-air (TTA) communication systems has always been a challenge in the underground mining environment due to harsh and dynamic conditions. TTA requires radio channel characterization for efficient designing and deploying of the communications systems. The literature covers the statistical radio propagation of a room and pillar coal mine, a longwall coal mine, CANMET Gold mine, Camborne School of Mines hard rock mine tunnel, MUZ Coal mine, an iron-ore mine and a lead-zinc mine with linearly polarized antennas at different frequencies. Abstract (sommario):
AbstractThis study represents results of first archaeo-geophysical prospection at the area of Kremenchuk Magnetic Anomaly (Poltava region, Ukraine). Pre-excavation magnetometer survey, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) measurements were performed on archaeological sites which are planned to be destroyed in near future due to development of iron ore quarries and construction of mine sites. Investigated archaeological monuments comprise settlements and burial mounds—kurgans—dated to Bronze and Early Iron Age occupying relatively high terrains in the floodplain of the Dnieper River. Based on prospection results of 18 sites and excavation of 6 ones, we evaluate the advantages and limitations of geophysical methods in confirming conclusions of visual archaeological inspection and targeting subsequent archaeological work. The recognised restrictions for geophysical methods are caused by high-gradient geomagnetic field, airborne magnetic pollution of soils and variable subsoil substrate—loess and sands. The magnetometer survey revealed an anomaly related to the remains of a large mound (the Bondari kurgan) against a background of high-gradient geomagnetic field. Large depression near the kurgan suggested its dating to the Bronze Age proved by subsequent archaeological excavations. The magnetic topsoil masks weak anomalies related to subsurface archaeological features and produces bright plough effects visible on the results of the magnetometer surveys. This is why, no anomalies sourced by mound of kurgan were recognised using this geophysical technique at the east from Gorishn’oplavnivskyi quarry. However, circular ditches and collapsed catacomb burials proved to cause detectable disturbance in the magnetic field. GPR measurements aided to identify the real diameter of kurgans by tracing the reflection associated with the mound-submound interface at sandy soil area. ERT results helped to clarify the structure of the large Novoselivska Mohyla kurgan. Two stages of construction were suggested from the two interpreted mounds of different resistivity. Smaller high resistivity anomalies are associated to primary and inserted burials. Magnetic anomalies caused by dwellings were found on the Bronze Age settlements as well as magnetic trace of shallow feature that was not identified during the archaeological excavations. The obtained results aid a proper understanding of the appearance of archaeo-geophysical anomalies and facilitate applying geophysical methods for archaeological needs in the region.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Dispensationalist and Keswick teachings were two sides of the same movement; yet it is important to bear in mind that the movement had more than two sides. Arthur T. Pierson, prominent in both sub-movements, made this clear in Forward Movements of the Last Half Century, his end-of-century review of evangelical progress. Pierson gave special prominence to the holiness revival, especially of the Keswick variety, and ended with a brief account of premillennialism. But in between he devoted hundreds of pages to a wide variety of “philanthropic, missionary and spiritual movements” including rescue missions, city evangelization, orphanage work, student and young peoples’ movements, women’s work, Bible schools, missions of all kinds, evangelism among the specially needy, efforts for church unity, medical missions, “divine healing,” and increased prayer and spiritual life.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract There are many recent introductory books on the philosophy of mind. Several give a more or less comprehensive survey of the main positions and arguments currently in the field. Some, indeed, are written with great clarity, rigor, intelligence, and scholarship. What then is my excuse for adding another book to this glut? Well, of course, any philosopher who has worked hard on a subject is unlikely to be completely satisfied with somebody else’s writings on that same subject, and I suppose that I am a typical philosopher in this respect. But in addition to the usual desire for wanting to state my disagreements, there is an overriding reason for my wanting to write a general introduction to the philosophy of mind. Almost all of the works that I have read accept the same set of historically inherited categories for describing mental phenomena, especially consciousness, and with these categories a certain set of assumptions about how consciousness and other mental phenomena relate to each other and to the rest of the world. It is this set of categories, and the assumptions that the categories carry like heavy baggage, that is completely unchallenged and that keeps the discussion going. The different positions then are all taken within a set of mistaken assumptions. The result is that the philosophy of mind is unique among contemporary philosophical subjects, in that all of the most famous and influential theories are false. By such theories I mean just about anything that has “ism” in its name. I am thinking of dualism, both property dualism and substance dualism, materialism, physicalism, computationalism, functionalism, behaviorism, epiphenomenalism, cognitivism, eliminativism, pan psychism, dual-aspect theory, and emergentism, as it is standardly conceived. To make the whole subject even more poignant, many of these theories, especially dualism and materialism, are trying to say something true. One of my many aims is to try to rescue the truth from the overwhelming urge to falsehood. I have attempted some of this task in other works, especially The Rediscovery of the Mind,1 but this is my only attempt at a comprehensive introduction to the entire subject of the philosophy of mind.

Abstract (sommario):
The individual's sense of “work self” is a complex phenomenon. The cumulative effect of work experiences and academic experiences along with one's personal interpretation of them is felt strongly in the sense of work self. There is recognition of the importance of people's sense of work self in career choices and in career success. The important role students' academic identity plays in post-secondary study success is well recognized, but the importance of the development of work identity in post-secondary education has received little attention. In this chapter, the crucial role work identity plays in career path and success is acknowledged. The author suggests that resume writing, typically viewed merely as a work history, can be used as a powerful tool for creative, critical reflection through which students critically re-examine their previous experiences and ultimately challenge the habits of mind and work self, which has previously defined, and often constrained, them.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Mitchell’s experimental reSE>arch work at Cambridge, although productive, was relatively undistinguished. Of rather greater interest were his initial theoretical writings, but even theSf’ might be lightly passtcd over if they were not seen in the light of his later achievements. The Cambridge period was not one of academic success for Mitchell; it was, rather, a time when ideas began to take root in his mind, ideas whose great potential he himself could scarcely have foreseen at that time. But for the brilliance of the Edinburgh and early Glynn periods, much of his work such as his first thesis might be passed off as of a dilettante nature. lndeed, the first thesis for his Ph.D. was referred (rejected but could be resubmitted after revision). But the Cambridge research period is of great interest because it sowed seeds for his later creativity. Mitchell’s promise does SE>em to have been appreciated by some of his contemporaries, particularly Marjory Stephenson and also David Keilin. CE’ftainly some regarded him as a very clever scientist, but othE’fs were less CE’ftain. In the end, the department did not offer him a pe’rmanent position.

Abstract Shortly after the foundation of Glynn, Mitchell had a brass plate fixed outside the front door with the inscription “Founded to Promote Fundanwntal Giological Rese>arch for the &>nefit of Humanity. “ ln the late 198! S a new panel was mounted in the entrance hall of Glynn. lt carried the heading, which he afterward referred to as the institute’s motto, “Science for Humanity. “ It expressed one of his major concerns of later life that the purpose of science is for the good of humanity. Mitchell explained: In that motto the word Humanity has two meanings. On the one Jund it means ht1111ankind, and on the other hand it refers to that special quality of sympathy and undE’fstanding that we associate with people’s love for OllE’ anothE’f and for other creatures with whom we share the natural world.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Sage and Eileen were a politically active couple during their London years, but when they returned to Cambridge in the autumn of 1927, Eileen could not easily resume her Labour Party work and Sage’s first priority was to organize his new department. Although most of his political comrades from undergraduate days such as Dickinson, Hutt and Montagu had moved to start careers in other places, Maurice Dobb was an economics don at Trinity College and poised to become the most influential communist in the University. While Sage may have let his CPGB membership lapse, his affiliation was never in doubt or concealed. One can speculate that having renounced the Catholic Church, which once offered him such comfort, Bernal was eager for any alternative system of beliefs that would bring a comparable level of certainty to his life. In Microcosm, Bernal recognized the integrative nature of his own mind, and it is not surprising that all-encompassing philosophies like Freudianism and Marxism appealed to him. The combination of the two isms, each with its closed ideology irrefutable by discordant facts and each undermining the bourgeoisie, was fashionable in intellectual circles of the day.

Abstract (sommario):
Copyright is not infringed in instances where the defendant’s activity falls outside the scope of exclusive rights. This is likely to be the case when the factual background of an alleged infringement does not meet the statutory prerequisites of a restricted act, for instance, when taking from an original work has not been such to amount to an act reserved by copyright, and hence falls beyond the scope of exclusive rights. As the Court of Justice of the European Union has affirmed in numerous cases, copyright protection is not absolute and exclusive rights are subject to a variety of internal limits that can serve as the basis of defensive claims in a practical sense. For instance, the court has indicated that exclusive rights are subject to internal scope limitations, some of which are relevant in the context of new technological uses. Hyperlinks, for example, do not infringe copyright when they are not addressed to a ‘new’ public, namely an audience that the rightsholders did not have in mind while making the work available online. Another example is the exhaustion principle, according to which the first authorized sale of content exhausts the authorial entitlement to further distributions. This principle is available in the online context only in relation to the resale of software, and this hinders innovative activity through the creation of electronic marketplaces for digital goods. Subject to examination in this chapter are the statutory and doctrinal limitations that inherently limit the scope of rights and remain outside the spectrum of proprietary entitlements.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract As Henry held Grace close that awful morning, the reality of separation from her was palpable. A part of him wanted to hide. But where could he possibly go? He sensed that he would have to be unconscious not to notice that Grace was no longer with him. Those who would advise him to “keep busy” or to “put your mind on other things” would mean well. But, to him, the hurt that Grace’s absence aroused seemed inescapable-he could not pretend otherwise. The road ahead looked endless. The feelings seemed at times unbearably heavy. He vowed to himself to stay the course, not run away. In the weeks that followed, Henry’s soul ached in every corner of his home. Though he knew he never would, it was still as if he expected to meet Grace there: at the now silent breakfast table. By the sink brushing her teeth. Searching the closet. At the door as he left for work. In the hall where they deposited the residue of the day’s business. Beside him as they watched the evening news. Strolling through the neighborhood at twilight. Reading in her favorite chair by the fire. Humming along as familiar music came from the stereo. In their bed at day’s end and at the sound of the alarm. Henry only knew how to live in his home with Grace.

Abstract (sommario):
Resilience is an essential psychological trait for rescuers, as their work involves responding to emergencies and disasters in challenging and often dangerous environments. In the case of rescuers, resilience enables them to remain calm and focused under pressure, cope with the physical and emotional demands of their job, and recover from the traumatic experiences they may encounter in the course of their work. Rescuers often face a range of stressful and challenging situations, such as working in confined spaces, dealing with hazardous materials, and navigating complex rescue scenarios and may also be exposed to traumatic events. In these situations, resilience can help rescuers to maintain their composure, remain focused on their task, and make effective decisions. Overall, the resilience of rescuers is a critical factor in their ability to perform their jobs safely and effectively, and to cope with the physical and emotional demands of their work. By developing resilience and receiving support as needed, rescuers can continue to provide lifesaving services in the challenging and often hazardous environment of a mine. The current paper aims to underline the importance of resilience and to provide strategies to enhance it in the case of intervention and rescue personnel.

Abstract (sommario):
In order to meet the requirement of coal mine flooding emergency rescue, a high power, high head and small volume high-speed wet submersible pump is designed. The high speed rescue pump applies the wet motor and pump integrated structure to achieve the best effect . When high speed rescue pump works, the temperature rise of the motor is high, which may cause the damage of the whole unit if the heat which produced by motor can not be taken away fully. The design of the cooling circuit is critical for the performance of the high speed rescue pump. This paper gives two design methods of the cooling circuit of high speed rescue pump. The design performance parameters: Capacity Q = 200m3/h, Head H = 50m, Rotate speed n = 6000r/min, Power P = 600kW. Two cooling circuits contains the normal and reverse one, which are based on theoretical deduction, numerical simulation and experimental verification. First and foremost, two theoretical models of cooling circuit are established by the theory of convective heat transfer .The heat balance and distribution are calculated by theoretical derivation. Then, both three-dimensional models of the circuit are built by CREO and simulated by ANSYS. The method of flow-heat coupling is used to simulate the whole inner flow field of the high speed rescue pump at different running conditions by considering the transformation of thermal performance parameter of cryogenic fluid caused by temperature change. In the simulation ,the information , such as temperature , flow field, pressure distribution of the whole cooling circuit together with temperature and velocity in the gas gap where temperature changed greatly, the convective heat transfer between fluid and motor ,and the flow rate of the cooling fluid are also gained. The analysis results show that: from the comparison of the pressure distribution of the two cooling forms, under the same inlet and outlet liquid condition ,the minimum and maximum pressure value of the reverse circuit are much higher than the corresponding value ,which means the reverse cooling method is better than the normal method as the aspect of cavitation performance. The temperature rise of reverse cooling circuit with the value 1.5K is smaller than the value of the normal cooling circuit. As the key part of the cooling circuit, the motor gas gap has a significant influence on the performance of the circuit. The velocity and temperature distribution is given to study the law of the flow and thermal field in the gap which can supply an intuitive understanding of the key part. At last, an experiment of a model pump is carried out on the test table validated the reliability of the reverse cooling circuit. It can be also concluded that the cooling circuit can satisfy with mode demand of the working condition of the high speed rescue pump.

Abstract (sommario):
In the work, the distribution of the sprinkling intensity for a selected nozzle with the trade name Turbomatic was tested and analysed. The device meets Polish legal requirements, has a CNBOP approval certificate and is classified as a TURBO type nozzle. The research was aimed at extending the knowledge about spray jets generated by nozzles, in particular analysing the impact of water flow rate on selected parameters of the sprinkling surface. These dependencies can in practice save water and more effectively extinguish during rescue and firefighting operations. The tests were carried out in the laboratory of the Rescue and Fire-Fighting Equipment of the Main School of Fire Service partly in field conditions. Two different water flow rates of 200 and 400 dm3/min were assumed at a set operating pressure at the nozzle outlet of 0.4 MPa. The position and methodology of conducted research was discussed. Selected results were presented in tabular and graphical form. Their analysis was carried out and conclusions were made based on it. They shows that the flow rate of the nozzle has a significant impact on sprinkling surface parameters such as: its size and shape, range projection, maximum value of sprinkling intensity, location of maximum, etc.

Abstract (sommario):
Future Artificial Intelligence (AI) teammates will need to take on more teaming and collaborative responsibilities in human-agent teams to advance those teams' capacities and improve performance. To do so, an AI will require artificial social intelligence (ASI) in order to effectively anticipate, predict, and respond to humans in ways that take into account factors related to context, individual cognition, team structures as well as the social, interpersonal team space. Theory of Mind is a core socio-cognitive process that is fundamental to supporting these social abilities in humans, and it must be developed for agents as Artificial Theory of Mind (AToM) that can support social behavior. An agent utilizing AToM models would be able to observe and infer human behavior and update their internal models to more effectively engage with human teammates based on the context of the interaction, like humans do naturally. The research reported here explores the interactions between AI imbued with Artificial Theory of Mind and teams of human participants completing simulated Urban Search and Rescue missions. The focus of our explorations are the relationships between the advisory interventions delivered by artificial, socially intelligent agents and the mission outcomes of the teams with which they worked. The gamified Urban Search and Rescue task employed for this research consisted of two missions per team during which participants searched for, triaged, and evacuated victims of a building collapse. Each three-person team was assigned an ASI agent who interacted with them during both missions. Critically, the agents were not given omniscient knowledge of the task, such as specific locations for task-related objectives, so the advice that they delivered to teams was based entirely on their artificial theory of mind and not rote problem solving. Of primary interest to this work is the nature of the advisory interventions delivered by the agents while assisting with the rescue missions. In this paper, we focus on exploring the interventions with attention to the nature of the content and delivery, and a particular interest in the interventions associated with team communication. The results of these analyses suggest that, overall, interventions were generally associated with positive outcomes rather than negative ones. Specifically, interventions advising teams to engage in information sharing and externalizing communication tended to relate positively to outcomes. That finding indicates that even early forms of artificial social intelligence have the potential to serve as teammates as opposed to be utilized as tools, and that artificial teammates can improve team performance. Further, the correlations between communication intervention types and mission performance reflect on how artificial social intelligence can support teams to more effectively engage in teaming activities, such as communication, which can benefit team performance outcomes. These findings are an important step towards investigating the impact of agents actively engaging in teaming behaviors, demonstrating an agent’s potential benefit to teamwork by supporting team communication and, additionally, identifying what factors may have negatively impacted performance and should be avoided to improve team effectiveness.

Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT Underground coal gasification (UCG) technology integrates three processes: well construction, coal mining and gasification. It not only overcomes the safety problems of existing mine coal mining, but also avoids the pollution of waste gas, waste water and waste residue in the process of surface coal gasification of traditional coal mining. It has the advantages of low gas production cost, high safety and good environmental benefits. However, effective temperature control technology of production wellbore still needs to be developed. Based on the annulus spray method and the combination of insulated oil pipe and spray device, a set of high-temperature gas spray cooling scheme is developed by using NASA variable specific heat calculation formula, considering the variation of specific heat value of main components of high-temperature mixture with temperature, and the finite element model of production wellbore is established by using commercial software (CFX), The temperature field and pressure field of production wellbore are simulated and analyzed. The analysis results show that the developed spray cooling scheme can effectively control the production wellbore temperature, achieve the design goals of slightly lower than 350 °C when the high-temperature gas is output to the ground and no gasification of annulus cooling water. The research methods and results have important practical significance for promoting the development of underground coal gasification process and even engineering application. Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) is a chemical mining method, which conducts controlled in-situ combustion and gasification of underground coal (Gregg D W and Edgar T F, 1978; Shafirovich E et al., 2009; Khan et al., 2015). A series of chemical reactions produce combustible gases such as H2, CO and CH4 (Perkins and Sahajwalla, 2006; Takyi Shadrack Adjei et al., 2023). UCG technology integrates three processes of well construction, coal mining and gasification. It belongs to a special coal mining method and is an important supplement to traditional physical coal mining technology (Lanhe Yang, 2003; Karol Kostúr et al., 2015). It replaces the huge and bulky underground coal mining equipment and ground coal gasification equipment, changes the traditional physical coal mining to chemical coal mining, realizes underground unmanned production, and avoids personal injury and mine accidents. It can not only recover coal resources abandoned in the mine, but also be used to mine thin coal seams, deep coal seams, "three lower" coal seams, and high-sulfur, high-ash, and high-gas coal seams that are difficult for underground workers to mine or are less economical and safe to mine. Moreover, dust pollution caused by coal mining and transportation is avoided, and the gasified gangue and ash remain underground (Rajesh P. Barnwal et al., 2017; Kariznovi, M et al., 2013), which reduces the environmental impact caused by the accumulation of surface solid waste, and prevents surface subsidence to a certain extent (Peng Pei et al., 2016). In a word, it overcomes the safety problems of existing mine coal mining, and also avoids the pollution of waste gas, waste water, waste residue, etc. in the surface coal gasification process of traditional coal mining, and has the advantages of low gas production cost, high safety and environmental protection. Good benefits. UCG technology is suitable for in-situ mining and transformation of difficult-to-mine coal seams, low-grade coal seams, especially deep coal seams, which improves resource utilization and drives the development of traditional industries such as coal, electric power, and chemical industry (Hossein Nourozieh et al., 2010). Therefore, UCG is a new technology of high-carbon resources and low-carbon development of clean energy, and it is also a green coal mining technology that coordinates resources and environment.

Abstract (sommario):
The paper proposes Maximum Residue (MR) as a notion to evaluate the strength of a symmetry breaking method. We give a proof to improve the best known DoubleLex MR upper bound from m!n! - (m!+n!) to min(m!,n!) for an m x n matrix model. Our result implies that DoubleLex works well on matrix models where min(m, n) is relatively small. We further study the MR bounds of SwapNext and SwapAny, which are extensions to DoubleLex breaking further a small number of composition symmetries. Such theoretical comparisons suggest general principles on selecting Lex-based symmetry breaking methods based on the dimensions of the matrix models. Our experiments confirm the theoretical predictions as well as efficiency of these methods.

Abstract (sommario):
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells that reside in the bone marrow and differentiate into connective cell lines, such as adipocytes and osteoblasts [1]. An appropriate balance of MSC differentiation toward adipocytes and osteoblasts is vital to bone homeostasis [6]. In vitro work demonstrates that differentiation of MSCs is influenced by mechanical stimuli [2, 3]. In a mouse model, the ratio of adipocytes to MSCs in the marrow was 19% lower compared to controls following treatment by low magnitude mechanical signals (LMMS) [4]. In mice, LMMS increased MSC number by 46% and the differentiation capacity of MSCs was biased towards osteoblastic compared to adipogenic differentiation [5]. Thus, mechanobiological stimuli may play an important role in maintaining balanced MSC differentiation.

Abstract (sommario):
Naval ships, or more generically naval systems, rarely operate as a single asset, most often they operate in small or large task-groups. Individual ships are thus part of a larger complex interacting system-of-systems performing a variety of tasks and missions in support of national and international naval operations. In such a system-of-systems composition naval systems are mutually supportive. For example, a replenishment ship is there to support task-group combatants, while the combatants in turn protect the replenishment ship which typically has few self-defence measures. Timely insight into system interactions and trade-offs driving the performance, effectiveness and affordability of these system-of-systems is crucial in achieving balanced designs which work and operate effectively in naval operations. A NATO Research Task Group (RTG) was initiated to investigate how systems-of-systems technical, operational and cost modelling can help in identifying and understanding such insights aiding requirements elucidation. In support of this RTG, the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organization has worked on a test-case to demonstrate the benefits and possibilities of assessing alternative naval ship designs, and their individual technical requirements, in a system-of-systems modelling approach. In this test-case, a small task-group performing two consecutive naval operations, mine clearance and a non-combatant evacuation, was modelled with the purpose of investigating the influence of ship design requirements on the overall mission effectiveness. Specifically, the interactions of varying requirements on ship signatures and mine clearance sonar performance were investigated. Also, the difference between a single large or two smaller amphibious assault ships was included. This was done to investigate the trade-off between a single large ship with concentrated but possibly vulnerable landing capacity versus two smaller ships with distributed and less vulnerable landing capacity. Each system-of-systems alternative was evaluated in terms of the overall mission effectiveness, which is defined as the number of evacuees rescued, and total acquisition cost. The results of the test-case indicate that indeed a significant trade-off in mission effectiveness and cost exists between investing in mine clearance sonar performance versus reducing the vulnerability of the task-group ships, either by distributing the landing capacity over two assault ships, or by reducing the ship signatures. The cost-benefit results clearly show these distinct trade-offs giving the supporting information for setting the task-group ships requirements. In conclusion, the applied system-of-systems modelling approach has made it possible to identify and quantify important interactions in the test-case. Traditional single ship, single operation modelling and simulation would not have captured these essential insights. Hence, designing effective and affordable (war) ships requires a broadening of scope from a single ship and single operation perspective to a system-of-systems performing multiple (consecutive) operations.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This work aims to reveal the highly efficient performance of eco-friendly polyurethane (PU) composites with natural palm fibers in the removal and recovery of oil spills. In addition, it is shown that this composite allows oil recovery and reuse, and still the composite material reusability. The study was done from the composite material and mini sorption barriers, up to real scale barriers. The eco-friendly polyurethane-natural palm fibers residue composite foams were obtained by the partial replacement of petrochemical monomers with polyols derived from vegetable oils, and the addition of natural palm fiber residues. The initial tests were carried out in the laboratory using the composite material and mini sorption barriers with 0.3 m. The oil sorption capacity and the sorption efficiency in oil and water were studied using crude and used oils. Also, the oil recovery and the material reusability were tested. Additionally, the oil spill sorption and containment performance of real scale barriers, 3 m long, were tested at a swimming pool and at wave bay and river flow scenarios, respectively. The study showed that composite material exhibited higher efficient oil sorption capacity and recovery efficiency in water, reaching values of 20-26 g.g-1 and 85-99 %, respectively. This material still allows the sorption of the dissolved oil, been possible to observe the oily water clarification by the demulsification. Besides, it was possible to recover about 60 % of the oil and material reuse or recycling of at least 7 cycles. Also, efficient results were obtained for the mini sorption barriers. In the case of the bigger barriers, the tests also reveal high oil absorption capacity and that barriers are effective in the adsorption of oil spills. It was observed that the barriers absorbed almost 100% of the oil and maintained its buoyancy. The buoyancy remains greater than 46% after oil sorption. Then, we can conclude that the developed and patented eco-friendly polyurethane - natural palm fibers residue composite foams are excellent materials to be applied in sorption barriers, and these barriers are highly efficient in the removal and recovery of oil spills, also allowing the recovery of oil and the barrier reusability. The novelty is the introduction of efficient eco-friendly composite materials used in sorption barriers. This composite material was tested at the Centre of Documentation, Research, and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution (CEDRE), in France, certifying their efficiency and that the material can be recommended for use as a floating sorbent for oil pollution.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In order to stabilize the supply of gas to its domestic market, China Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Taiwan, the sole natural gas supplier, has established an integrated gas distribution network in the western part of Taiwan with an inland transmission trunk line, offshore transmission trunk line and regional transmission loops. CPC’s gas pipeline planning is based on the concept of forming a ring-shaped gas transmission network along the island. The 36-inch diameter Yung-An to Tung-Hsiao offshore pipeline (Figure 1) is the largest and longest transmission pipeline in the entire network, delivering gas from southern Taiwan to northern Taiwan, where the dominant gas market is located. It was discovered that the emergency shutdown valves (ESDV) at both the Yung-An LNG terminal and the Tung-Hsiao gas transfer station, which are connected by a 237.7-km (147.7-mi), 36-inch offshore pipeline, required replacement or maintenance so that CPC could resume operational pigging of the pipeline and carry out regular in-line inspection (ILI), as required by regulations. For this project, CPC decided to apply advanced isolation technology known as SmartPlug® in-line isolation and hot tapping and STOPPLE® isolation technology to isolate the pipeline pressure at 60 bar (870 psi) before executing the repair work. This allowed the company to avoid having to remove the contents of the entire 237.7-km (147.7-mile) gas line, which would have significantly extended the shutdown period. The chosen isolation method helped CPC secure the “fastest and most efficient” method to resume gas supply to northern Taiwan and increased confidence in the use of this method for inline pipeline inspection in the future. The project only allowed seven days for the work during the 2019 Chinese New Year holidays, when energy consumption in Taiwan is lower than usual. The company also conducted an in-depth risk study and several workshops to assure the risk management of this project before execution. While the 36-inch pipeline was isolated, CPC also took the opportunity to replace other leaking valves at the launching and receiving ends of the pipeline. The isolation enabled the operator to avoid depressurizing and purging their entire gas export pipeline while mitigating safety concerns associated with defective ESDVs and corroded components. This paper describes the steps taken from planning to site visit and engineering, to safely and successfully executing the isolation.
