Abstract (sommario):
The k-means algorithm of the partitioning clustering method is used to analyze cloud migration strategies in this study. The extent of assistance required to be provided to organizations while working on migration strategies was investigated for each cloud service model and concrete clusters were formed. This investigation is intended to aid cloud consumers in selecting their required cloud migration strategy. It is not easy for businessmen to select the most appropriate cloud migration strategy, and therefore, we proposed a suitable model to solve this problem. This model comprises a web of migration strategies, which provides an unambiguous visualization of the selected migration strategy. The cloud migration strategy targets the technical aspects linked with cloud facilities and measures the critical realization factors for cloud acceptance. Based on similar features, a correlation among the migration strategies is suggested, and three main clusters are formed accordingly. This helps to link the cloud migration strategies across the cloud service models (software as a service, platform as a service, and infrastructure as a service). This correlation was justified using the digital logic approach. This study is useful for the academia and industry as the proposed migration strategy selection process aids cloud consumers in efficiently selecting a cloud migration strategy for their legacy applications.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: Cloud computing rules in the new digital transformation world and gets wide acceptance in the field of business. The cloud can solve many problems like scalability of the business, flexibility of the business, cost and performance that may come across while running an enterprise. In fact, by digital transformation, fixed costs may get reduced, a more flexible allocation of resources is possible, faster development of the enterprise is resulted, worldwide reach is through the cloud highly appreciable, a safer change control process, and faster time-to-market with objectively better products. Even though it promises many benefits, it is not an easy task to migrate to cloud platform from a current conventional business platform. Cloud migration introduces its own issues. While looking for migrating business from on-premises to cloud, many challenges should be kept in mind for successful migration. Keywords: Cloud migration, digital transformation

Abstract (sommario):
Cloud computing has been widely used in various industries in recent years. However, when migrating enterprise applications into the cloud, enterprise users face a problem with minimizing migration time and cloud resource providers face a dilemma of resource allocation problem, with the objective of maximizing the migration utility of enterprise users while minimizing the cost of cloud resource providers. In order to achieve them, this paper considered cloud migration objectives including cloud migration time, cloud migration utility, and cloud data center cost, and proposed a resource allocation model for enterprise applications migration into the cloud. The model is divided into two stages: the bandwidth allocation for enterprise applications migration to the cloud and the physical resource allocation of cloud resource providers for enterprise applications deployment into the cloud. In the first stage, we aim to minimize the cloud migration time for enterprise applications, and propose a scheme of bandwidth allocation for each component of applications. In the second stage, we present the resource allocation of cloud resource providers and propose a gradient-based algorithm which can achieve optimal resource allocation. Finally, we give some numerical simulation results to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract (sommario):
Cloud data migration is the process of moving data, localhost applications, services, and data to the distributed cloud processing framework. The success of this data migration measure is relying upon a few viewpoints like planning and impact analysis of existing enterprise systems. Quite possibly the most widely recognized process is moving locally stored data in a public cloud computing environment. Cloud migration comes along with both challenges and advantages, so there are different academic research and technical applications on data migration to the cloud that will be discussed throughout this paper. By breaking down the research achievement and application status, we divide the existing migration techniques into three strategies as indicated by the cloud service models essentially. Various processes should be considered for different migration techniques, and various tasks will be included accordingly. The similarities and differences between the migration strategies are examined, and the challenges and future work about data migration to the cloud are proposed. This paper, through a research survey, recognizes the key benefits and challenges of migrating data into the cloud. There are different cloud migration procedures and models recommended to assess the presentation, identifying security requirements, choosing a cloud provider, calculating the expense, and making any essential organizational changes. The results of this research paper can give a roadmap for data migration and can help decision-makers towards a secure and productive migration to a cloud computing environment.

Abstract (sommario):
Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources. Most technology industries are moving to the cloud. Cloud structures can be costly for users. Virtualization is used in cloud computing that helps the cloud at a low cost. Migrating virtual machines (VMs) helps to manage computation. Migration of virtual machines is a core feature of virtualization. The technique of migrating a running virtual machine from one physical host to another with minimal downtime is called "live virtual machine migration." This paper discusses the migration technique, i.e., migration before and after copying, and also issues related to live migration. This paper presents a better approach to the VM migration method and future challenges by differentiating from the previous live VM migration method.

Abstract (sommario):
The increase in the number of cloud data centers is due to an increase in the number of companies migrating to cloud computing. There are many advantages that companies get when migrating to the cloud, but there are also many disadvantages. Multitenancy security and privacy are important challenges for cloud migration users. This study proposes a way to assess the risks that may arise in the cloud migration process for logistics business applications. The research method used is semi-quantitative with a 3-phase approach, namely before migration, during migration, and after migration by considering the criteria for risk aspects and environmental aspects that will have an impact on the company, so that companies can make risk mitigation plans. The results of this study identified 11 (eleven) threats in the cloud that occupy the top ranking and identify as many as 17 (seventeen) indicators obtained from the identification of indicators in the previous model or framework used to assess risks in logistics business applications that will be implemented. migrated to the cloud. Based on the experimental results in this study, the application risk value during migration and after migration has a higher value than before migration, and the risk value during migration are higher than the risk value after migration.

Abstract (sommario):
Maintaining IT infrastructure is a major challenge for multi-campus universities. The difficulties they face include inflexibility, inefficiency, outdated technology, and redundant resources, all of which negatively impact the quality of services provided to students, faculty, and researchers. Consequently, there is a growing need for a more agile, efficient, and cost-effective solution that can cater to the everchanging IT service demands of these institutions. Universities can boost their agility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness while enhancing service quality by utilizing cloud services. Cloud computing enables universities to quickly and easily access computing resources that can be scaled up or down as per their IT requirements, providing them with the necessary flexibility to meet dynamic demands. Private cloud migration further offers universities complete control over their internal security and SLA obligations, allowing them to guarantee a high level of service delivery. This paper contends that private cloud migration is an effective solution that can help multi-campus universities surmount their IT infrastructure challenges and enhance their IT service delivery capabilities. This paper presents a case study analysis of the University of the Aegean's migration to a private cloud and offers insights into the factors that influence successful private cloud migration in multi-campus universities. The paper argues that private cloud migration and cloud computing are effective solutions for resolving IT infrastructure issues and improving service delivery in higher education institutions. The paper provides recommendations for universities considering private cloud migration, offering a roadmap for successful migration. Additionally, the study identifies critical success factors that can help universities achieve a successful migration. In future work, this study could be expanded to include more universities and explore the challenges and benefits of private cloud migration in a broader context. Furthermore, it would be interesting to investigate the impact of private cloud migration on student outcomes, faculty satisfaction, and institutional performance.

Abstract (sommario):
The demands of migrating on-premises complex enterprise applications to cloud dramatically increase with the wide adoption of cloud computing. A recent research validates the possibility of combining multiple proprietary migration services offered by different vendors together to complete cloud migration. Pattern based service composition has been proven as an appealing approach to accelerate the service composition and ensure the qualities in the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) domain and can be applied to the cloud migration service composition theoretically. However, current pattern discovery approaches are not applicable for the cloud migration due to lack of either existing cloud migration business process knowledge or execution logs. This paper proposes a novel approach to discover cloud migration patterns from a set of service composition solutions. The authors formalize the pattern discovery as a special graph similarity matching problem and present an algorithm to calculate the similarities of these service composition solutions. Patterns are chosen out of the solutions by similarity under designed criteria. The benchmark results and quantitative analysis show that our proposed approach is effective and efficient in pattern discovery for cloud migration service composition.

Abstract (sommario):
The state of cloud security is evolving. Many organizations are migrating their on-premises data centers to cloud networks at a rapid pace due to the benefits like cost-effectiveness, scalability, reliability, and flexibility. Yet, cloud environments also raise certain security concerns that may hinder their adoption. Cloud security threats may include data breaches/leaks, data loss, access management, insecure APIs, and misconfigured cloud storage. The security challenges associated with cloud computing have been widely studied in previous literature and different research groups. This paper conducted a systematic literature review and examined the research studies published between 2010 and 2023 within popular digital libraries. The paper then proposes a comprehensive Secure Cloud Migration Strategy (SCMS) that organizations can adopt to secure their cloud environment. The proposed SCMS consists of three main repeatable phases/processes, which are preparation; readiness and adoption; and testing. Among these phases, the author addresses tasks/projects from the different perspectives of the three cybersecurity teams, which are the blue team (defenders), the red team (attackers), and the yellow team (developers). This can be used by the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) as a checklist that covers defending the cloud; attacking and abusing the cloud; and applying the security shift left concepts. In addition to that, the paper addresses the necessary cloud security documents/runbooks that should be developed and automated such as incident response runbook, disaster recovery planning, risk assessment methodology, and cloud security controls. Future research venues and open cloud security problems/issues were addressed throughout the paper. The ultimate goal is to support the development of a proper security system to an efficient cloud computing system to help harden organizations’ cloud infrastructures and increase the cloud security awareness level, which is significant to national security. Furthermore, practitioners and researchers can use the proposed solutions to replicate and/or extend the proposed work.

Abstract (sommario):
By leveraging cloud services, organizations can arrange their software systems over a pool of resources. However, organizations heavily depend on their business-critical systems, which have been developed more than long period. These inheritance applications are usually deployed on-premise. In recent years, research in cloud migration has been carried out. However, there is no derivative study to consolidate this research. This paper aims to identify, taxonomically catalog and methodically compare existing research on cloud migration. By analyzing the research achievements, we split the presented migration methods into three strategies according to the cloud service models integrally. Unusual processes need to be painstaking for different migration strategies, and different tasks will be implicated accordingly. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) of 23 selected studies, published from 2010 to 2013. We classify and compare the selected studies based on a characterization framework that we also introduce in this paper. The research blend results in a facts base of current solutions. This review also identifies research gaps and commands for future research. This review reveals that cloud migration research is still in premature stages, but is advancing. It identifies the requirements for a migration framework to help improving the maturity level and consequently trust into cloud migration. This review shows a need of tool support to computerize migration tasks. This study also identifies needs for architectural version and self-adaptive cloud-enabled systems.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: A cloud environment is the popular shareable computing environments where large number of clients/users are connected to the common cloud computing environment to access the resources and the services. The presented work is focused on the concept of effective resource allocation, de-allocation and reallocation in a cloud environment. To present the concept, we have taken a cloud environment with multiple clouds along with multiple virtual machines. All the machines are homogenous. These all clouds are assigned by a specific priority. Now as the user request arrive, it performs the request to the priority cloud under its requirements in terms of memory & processor capabilities. When the client stops the task then the service allocated to the client is released & same can be reallocated to another client in the waiting. We can also some migration work so that if a cloud is under utilize then its services are migrated to nearest cloud having sufficient utilization. Hence the work provides efficient allocation, de-allocation and reallocation of cloud services with minimum need for migration of service from one cloud to another. Keywords: Resource Allocation, Resource Scheduling, Resource Migration

Abstract (sommario):
Cloud acts as a data storage and also used for data transfer from one cloud to other. Here data exchange takes place among cloud centers of organizations. At each cloud center huge amount of data was stored, which interns hard to store and retrieve information from it. While migrating the data there are some issues like low data transfer rate, end to end latency issues and data storage issues will occur. As data was distributed among so many cloud centers from single source, will reduces the speed of migration. In distributed cloud computing it is very difficult to transfer the data fast and securely. This paper explores MapReduce within the distributed cloud architecture where MapReduce assists at each cloud. It strengthens the data migration process with the help of HDFS. Compared to existing cloud migration approach the proposed approach gives accurate results interns of speed, time and efficiency.
