Abstract (sommario):
CERN Windows server infrastructure consists of about 650 servers. The management and maintenance is often a challenging task as the data to be monitored is disparate and has to be collected from various sources. Currently, alarms are collected from the Microsoft System Center Operation Manager (SCOM) and many administrative actions are triggered through e-mails sent by various systems or scripts. The objective of the Chopin Management System project is to maximize automation and facilitate the management of the infrastructure. The current status of the infrastructure, including essential health checks, is centralized and presented through a dashboard. The system collects information necessary for managing the infrastructure in the real-time, such as hardware configuration or Windows updates, and reacts to any change or failure instantly. As part of the system design, big data streaming technologies are employed in order to assure the scalability and fault-tolerance of the service, should the number of servers drastically grow. Server events are aggregated and processed in real-time through the use of these technologies, ensuring quick response to possible failures. This paper presents details of the architecture and design decisions taken in order to achieve a modern, maintainable and extensible system for Windows Server Infrastructure management at CERN.

Abstract (sommario):
The results of research funded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KyTC) to develop a new method for determining of construction contract time for its highway construction contracts are reported. The current system in Kentucky was analyzed to determine how a new system could provide better-estimated durations. Current methods of other departments of transportation were analyzed to provide insight for a new system. It was predetermined that a computer system was best suited; however, the development of the system needed input from KyTC engineers with construction experience. A task force of the study advisory committee worked with Kentucky Transportation Center research engineers to develop the basis for the new contract time determination system, called the Kentucky Contract Time Determination System (KY-CTDS). The KY-CTDS program was developed to provide a conceptual estimating tool for prediction of construction contract time for the Kentucky Department of Highways. It makes use of predetermined project classifications and lists major activities that are believed to control the project schedule. Production rates and activity relationships have also been determined and are embedded in the program. Experienced KyTC engineers can make final adjustments using the model. This program uses Microsoft Project 98 and Microsoft Excel, version 7.0, software and operates on a personal computer. It outputs a graphical bar chart schedule to be used only for estimation of contract time for bidding purposes. Program output should also help in resolving construction disputes. The program is not suitable for detailed scheduling of construction operations.

Abstract (sommario):
The article analyzes the management accounting of responsibility centers that form specific objects of cost accounting, namely budget responsibility centers. The presented system of management post-operational cost accounting, meets the requirements of budgeting and becomes a necessary condition for monitoring the level of compliance with standards and provides a reasonable formation of production costs for technological redistribution at oil and fat enterprises. The information basis of the budgeting process is management accounting. Moreover, management accounting provides the necessary information for budget planning, control and analysis of budget execution, and is one of the components of the budgeting process. Assessment of responsibility centers is useful for understanding the cycles of economic activity, economic processes and structural units in the framework of budgeting. The operations-based management accounting system mainly meets the requirements of budgeting, which becomes a necessary condition for control over the standard conditions of accounting. In order to obtain more detailed information for analysis and control, it is proposed to organize cost accounting by operations-functions of technological processes, which allows analysts to find bottlenecks in technology by identifying redundant technological functions and operations and strengthen control over compliance with proven budgets for each «responsibility center». Accounting for responsibility centers aims to evaluate the management activities of a particular responsibility center and to provide a responsibility report and an information report for the evaluation of senior management. It is a method of management accounting that measures the results of each responsibility center, which allows each manager to realize the responsibility in their field of cost accounting and budgeting.

Abstract (sommario):
The main feature of the 5G network is Network slicing. This concept enables network resource efficiency, deployment flexibility, and support for rapid growth in over the top (OTT) applications and services. Network Slicing involves splitting the 5G physical architecture into multiple virtual networks or layers. Each network layer (slice) includes control layer functions, user traffic level functions, and a radio access network. Slice isolation is an important requirement that allows the basic concept of Network slicing to be applied to the simultaneous coexistence of multiple fragments in a single infrastructure. This property is achieved by the fact that the performance of each slice should not affect the performance of the other. The architecture of network fragments expands in two main aspects: slice protection (cyber attacks or malfunctions affect only the target slice and have a limited impact on the life cycle of other existing ones) and slice privacy (private information about each slice, such as user statistics) does not exchange between other slices). In 5G, the interaction of the user's equipment with the data networks is established using PDU sessions. Multiple PDU sessions can be active at the same time to connect to different networks. In this case, different sessions can be created using different network functions following the concept of Network Slicing. The concept of "network architecture", which is developed on hardware solutions, is losing its relevance. It will be more appropriate to call 5G a system, or a platform because it is implemented using software solutions. 5G functions are implemented in VNF virtual software functions running in the network virtualization infrastructure, which, in turn, is implemented in the physical infrastructure of data centers, based on standard commercial COTS equipment, which includes only three types of standard devices - server, switch and a storage system. For the correct operation of a network, it is necessary to provide constant monitoring of parameters which are described above. Monitoring is a specially organized, periodic observation of the state of objects, phenomena, processes for their assessment, control, or forecasting. The monitoring system collects and processes information that can be used to improve the work process, as well as to inform about the presence of deviations. There is a lot of network monitoring software available today, but given that 5G is implemented on virtual elements, it is advisable to use the System Center Operations Manager component to monitor network settings and performance and to resolve deviations on time. The Operations Manager reports which objects are out of order sends alerts when problems are detected and provides information to help determine the cause of the problem and possible solutions. So, for the 5G network, it is extremely important to constantly monitor its parameters for the timely elimination of deviations, as it can impair the performance and interaction of smart devices, as well as the quality of communication and services provided. System Center Operations Manager provides many opportunities for this. The purpose and objectives of the work. The work aims to analyze the main mechanisms of cybersecurity in 5G cellular networks

Abstract (sommario):
The mission of the Transmutation Research Program (TRP) at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is to establish a nuclear engineering test bed that can carry out effective transmutation and advanced reactor research and development effort. Chemical Engineering Division, Argonne National Laboratories (ANL) is in charge the design, modeling, and demonstration of countercurrent solvent-extraction process for treating high-level liquid waste, such as U and Tc. The Nevada Center for Advanced Computational Methods (NCACM) at UNLV is developing a systems engineering model that provides process optimization through the automatic adjustment on input parameters, such as feed compositions, stages, flow rates, etc., based on the extraction efficiency of components and concerned output factors. An object-oriented programming (OOP) is considered. Previously designed Microsoft (MS) Excel macro-based program, Argonne Model for Universal Solvent Extraction (AMUSE) code, based on firm understanding of the chemistry and thermodynamics, is the core module for Uranium Extraction process (UREX). Currently AMUSE is the only available module. The Transmutation Research Program System Engineering Model Project (TRPSEMPro) consists of task manager, task integration and solution/monitor modules. A MS SQL server database is implemented for managing large data flow from optimization processing. Task manager coordinates and interacts with other two modules. Task integration module works as a flowsheet constructor that builds task hierarchy, input parameter values and constrains. Task solution/monitor component presents both final and in-progress outputs in tabular and graphical formats. The package also provides a multiple-run process that executes a design matrix without invoking the optimization module. Experimental reports can be generated through database query and formatting.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In every industrial plant and in particular in a Giant Brownfield Oil Plant, asset integrity management plays a crucial role both in day-by-day activities and in future operations, and it helps to maximize the company value. This paper presents an innovative digital tool to monitor, track and manage the Process and Maintenance Override Switch (POS and MOS). It includes email alert, historian tracking and it is the basis of the Management of Change (MOC) process of a giant brown oilfield. This new digital tool relies on the increasing data availability and on the huge opportunity that data democracy enables to production engineers, operators, and plant manager. It combines DCS raw data, event and alarm list, signal condition and inhibits with a storage data tool and the Digital Oilfiled (DOF) to create an Integrated Operation Center (IOC) with a section focusing on barrier panel and asset integrity. Focusing about the POS and MOS system, the tool read the real time data from the Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) and store them in the IOC where the data are accessible to all the production, maintenance and HSE personnel. These data are rearranged in order to focus the attention on risks, safety barriers and related mitigation through the entire plant. The IOC will automatically send alert email one hour before the shift ending. Control room supervisor together with the Central Control Room (CCR) operators can check all the POS and MOS tracked during the shift and remove the inhibits that are no necessary to the operations. Thanks to IOC, plant manager and control room supervisor can track new inhibits and report them to the maintenance team or to the production engineers to confirm the proper risk analysis and mitigations actions and initiate the MOC procedure, if needed. MOC are needed to meet the brownfield plant evolution and operating/safety requirements according to internal operations Procedure Instruction (OPI), local and national regulations and international standards. The IOC and the DOF integrate also the alarm list, in order to improve Alarm Management System and Alarm Rationalization/Reduction activities. It highlights the most frequent alarms and create a collaborative environment in which production, maintenance and automation team can work together to reduce the alarm number and frequency. This new digital management tool gives a strong contribution to production engineers, plant manager, CCR supervisor and maintenance team to maximize transparency and safety for people, environment and asset. Focus the attention on the process overrides highlights every moment the barrier status panel of the plant and supports the management of change process in a Giant Brownfield Oil Plant creating a collaborative environment based on data availability and data democracy.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract A novel and alternate field-wide well integrity management system is presented that uses historical wireline acquired well integrity data along with relevant static and dynamic data to generate visually interactive and customizable well integrity maps, reports, and plots that could facilitate field development planning and reduce surveillance and well intervention efforts and costs. The initial system has been designed using two commonly acquired types of well integrity data, namely corrosion and cement evaluation data. However, the proposed solution can be extended to incorporate any type of cased hole or open-hole data. The key components of this novel system are a centralized database for all related data, customizable corrosion and cement quality maps, field characterization maps, candidate ranking lists, and a centralized repository for all historical processed logs and reports. To ensure the accuracy of the data visualization and data analytics, all the acquired wireline logs are first quality-checked, processed, and interpreted on a processing and interpretation platform such as Techlog (SLB software). The results are then organized and stored on an Oil Field Manager (OFM, SENSIA Software) compatible database such as Microsoft (MS) Access. Finally, the results are pushed to a visualization platform, such as OFM for subsequent data visualization and analytics. This management system aims to address the challenges associated with well integrity data. This data comes from many sources, uses different technologies, is acquired by different vendors, and as a result is stored in different formats. This makes it cumbersome for operators to extract actionable information from this data efficiently and accurately. The deployment of the proposed management system provides operators with a high-level view of the present well integrity status of the field, contains information on the well integrity history of the field, as well as has the potential to predict future well integrity related issues. Integration of relevant static and dynamic data also facilitates a deeper understanding of the field-wide well integrity by facilitating correlations between different well-level parameters. Based on all the data inputs and subsequent outputs, a candidate ranking system is generated which ranks the wells based on the prevalence and seriousness of well integrity issues, thereby alerting operators to take appropriate action. A future use-case of these maps is linkage with dynamic databases, which will enable continuous data flow through surface sensors and gauges. This will provide operators with a live, integrated snapshot of the production and well integrity performance of their assets. This novel well integrity management system is conceptualized to shift operators' focus from data gathering to data analytics by leveraging and integrating multiple sources of massive data and providing operators with a high-level snapshot of the well integrity status of the entire field. This system is envisioned to improve efficiency, optimize workovers, and greatly reduce the carbon footprint associated with well intervention operations. Eventually, through enhanced data analytics, operators can exercise greater control over the well integrity of their fields.
