Abstract (sommario):
The Philippine State is committed to promoting people’s well-being by treating and preventing mental health conditions in a timely, affordable, high-quality, and culturally appropriate manner, as stated in the Mental Health Act [1]. The act aims to integrate strategies for promoting mental health in educational institutions, workplaces, and communities. When managing school discipline, some challenges may arise while implementing and adhering to specific systems. These challenges may negatively impact the school’s inclusivity and require some reforms. That’s why the school’s administrators and the relationships between students and adults hold a significant role in promoting better management of disciplinary cases. Adopting a positive approach that factors in their emotional and social competencies is imperative to manage disciplinary matters with students effectively. A group of 16 Student Discipline Investigating Discipline Officers (IDOs) participated in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss how they handle students with disciplinary issues, including those with special needs. The study investigated how cases involving students with mental health issues are managed. It identified factors, gaps, strengths, and areas for improvement. It has been determined that establishing a protocol for students with mental health issues is vital, and the service provider (SDFO) will play a critical role in this process.

Abstract (sommario):
The increased level of information and psychological pressure recently has greatly influenced the mental culture of medical management and has caused a need for coverage of issues related to the discipline of systemic thinking. It turned out that teaching a person to think in a disciplined and systematic way is very difficult. Cliched mental models impede the spread of innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies. The success of any medical organization is impossible without a mental culture based on the discipline of thinking of stakeholders. The use of socionic typology allows the systematic management of production activities, starting from the natural forms of thinking of their infotypes. At the center of the mental culture of medical management should be the idea of socionically verified systemic thinking, disciplining it on the basis of reflective mechanisms.

Abstract (sommario):
Traditionally, philosophy has been regarded as operating at a level above practical application. However, the discipline can offer mental health policy and practice some valuable aid. First, its logical rigour can help to clarify concepts and expose inconsistency and prejudice; second, its wealth of theory about morality can enrich the concepts that guide mental health practice. By avoiding simplistic solutions (such as reliance on the ‘four principles’ of biomedical ethics) those who turn to the discipline of philosophy may learn how to be more critical of accepted policies and practices.

Abstract (sommario):
Psychology like other progressive scientific disciplines endures constant transformation, with one scientific revolution replacing or superseding another. The nascent field of community psychology represents a paradigm shift, and indeed a mental health revolution in psychology. The paper seeks to illuminate the themes, values, and methods of community psychology. Effort will be made to underscore how the discipline does not attempt to hide behind a "scientific" value free cloak but rather highlight the critical role values play in shaping and informing praxis in psychology and community psychology in particular. The paper also seeks to emphasise that the discipline is relevant in African cultural contexts given the synchronicity between its core values and African cultural values. Finally, an endeavour will be made to examine community psychology in the Zimbabwean context.

Abstract (sommario):
That's right, sicker. At least insofar as sick is a social construct (more on that later). I'm speaking specifically about declining mental health, and for this short essay I focus on our most emergent of theatre and performance-studies scholars: our graduate students. Few of us would disagree that there has always been a significant amount of depression and anxiety among our masters and doctoral students. Recent studies, however, find that more grad students are reporting significant mental health issues today than in any past generation. Perhaps these higher numbers are simply a matter of different and better diagnosing. More likely, those entering graduate programs today have more stressors outside academia: family responsibilities, financial concerns, and culture-related anxiety (more minorities and other historically disenfranchised groups and international students are entering graduate programs than ever before). Moreover, the increase in treatments in the past decades has enabled more students with a history of mental health issues to make it to higher education. It's not the purpose of this short piece to suss out the kinds of student in our programs more likely to be mentally and emotionally distressed. Instead, I look at what we should be doing not to make it worse for the students we have in the years ahead, actions that will benefit the field as a whole and all of us individually.

The mental condition of adolescents and children in Indonesia is currently alarming. Adolescents are vulnerable to various problems at the stage of development such as mental and emotional problems related to emotional disturbances, depression, resistance and behavioral disorders. the behavior or actions that arise by each individual depends on the emotional and thought conditions that arise before they decide to do something. The research is a descriptive-analytic study with cross-sectional design aimed to determine the conditions that affect mental health in 80 teenage students of SMK Negeri 1 Sorong. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire. simple logistic regression analysis test results show that parenting style, motivation and discipline simultaneously have an effect on adolescent mental health with a significance value (0,000 <0.005). Discipline, learning motivation has an influence on adolescent mental health with a significance value (0,000 <0.005) but parenting does not affect adolescent mental health with a significance value (0.382> 0.005). Adolescents need support including the environment to prevent mental disorders because it has a close relationship with academic success.

Abstract (sommario):
Elderly residents of rural areas are at significant risk for mental health problems, yet have less access to mental health services. Thus, most mental health problems among rural elderly remain either undiagnosed or untreated. We describe two models of mental health outreach programs to rural elderly in Iowa and Virginia, serving demographically, culturally, and epidemiologically different populations in geographically and economically dissimilar regions. Programs are compared on the basis of initiation, community partnerships, target population, target region, clinical disciplines involved, coordinating discipline, referral sources, operational model, initial home assessment, care planning, sustainability, cost, patient demographics, and primary and secondary diagnoses. Outreach programs are argued to be effective models of delivering services to geographically and/or socially isolated elderly populations. The experiences of our programs, though limited to rural populations, may be of relevance to any outreach program attempting to serve elderly presenting with or at risk for mental health problems.

Abstract (sommario):
Objective: To provide an overview of specific aspects of historical and possible future trajectories of psychiatry. Conclusions: Psychiatric treatments alleviate suffering, promote physical health, and are associated with increased longevity. As the biological underpinnings of mental illnesses are slowly uncovered, they generally cease to be primarily part of psychiatry (e.g. epilepsy, anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis). If this process continues, the biological basis of all symptom-based ‘mental illnesses’ might be described, and psychiatry absorbed into neurology and other disciplines. This will be a positive development if it provides better treatment for mental illness and psychiatric symptoms in other conditions, which is psychiatry’s sole concern. Psychiatry’s own survival as a distinct discipline is irrelevant if other disciplines can do the job better, possibly in collaboration. Given the tiny impact of neuroscience on psychiatry to date, the disappearance of psychiatry is unlikely to occur anytime soon, if ever. It is possible that human psychological functioning and psychiatric suffering are sufficiently complex and changeable as to defy complete, fine-grained, neuroscientific explanation. This would leave a role for psychiatry indefinitely, treating the immensely disabling, biologically unexplained clusters of symptoms that we currently call ‘mental illnesses’, increasingly in collaboration with, or absorbed within, other disciplines in medicine.

Abstract (sommario):
The mental condition of adolescents and children in Indonesia is currently alarming. Adolescents are vulnerable to various problems at the stage of development such as mental and emotional problems related to emotional disturbances, depression, resistance and behavioral disorders. the behavior or actions that arise by each individual depends on the emotional and thought conditions that arise before they decide to do something. The research is a descriptive analytic study with cross-sectional design aimed to determine the conditions that affect mental health in 80 teenage students of SMK Negeri 1 Sorong.

The development of the concept of mental discipline can be understood from three clues, as a puritanical phenomenon, as a phenomenon rooted in the classics, and, on the other hand, as one rooted in faculty psychology. The aim of this research is to explore whether there has been a fracture in the evolution of the concept of mental discipline and explain how and why it evolved in three stages. Centered on three figures, Timothy Dwight, William Torrey Harris, and Irving Babbitt, it can be found that mental discipline evolved into three contexts during its development. Harris’s ideas, to a large extent, reflected his absorption of the ideas of Hegelianism and the transcendental philosophy of Kant, and they also included Unitarianism. Babbitt hoped to solve the problem of how the general will formed by the individual of modern society not only guaranteed the public interest but also avoided excessively eroded individual spiritual freedom. Babbitt’s issue horizon was similar to that of Harris, but they slightly differed. A brief overview of the research may imply that, using the perspective of intellectual history, mental discipline is no longer regarded as a static and continuous ideal but as a concept embedded in different contexts and facing different issue horizons.

Abstract (sommario):
Background. To accurately evaluate sports social discipline’s academic influence in China, a model of academic influence evaluation of sports social discipline in China based on bibliometrics is proposed. Objective. A statistical model of the academic influence of sports social discipline is constructed, the word frequency statistics method is used to measure the literature, and the semantic characteristic quantity of the sports social discipline academic influence is extracted, using the literature method and logical analysis method to analyze sports’ social value in the Internet era from healthy sports. The combination of sports and medical treatment can comprehensively promote physical and mental health. Methods. The dual semantic feature decomposition method is used to analyze sports social discipline’s academic influence. The statistical analysis model of sports social discipline academic influence is established. The principles of fuzzy pattern recognition include the principle of maximum membership degree and proximity degree. Results. The comprehensive relative closeness of the distribution of literature statistics on sports and social disciplines’ academic influence is constructed. The linear programming analysis of literature statistics is carried out using the standardized grid computing method. Conclusions. The combination of association rule feature extraction and semantic feature extraction is used to realize the quantitative calculation of literature statistics and academic influence. The simulation results show that the statistical analysis of the academic influence of sports and social discipline by this method is accurate, and the level of confidence is high.

Abstract (sommario):
The main assertion in this paper is that psychache (mental pain) has a life of its own and is separate from the study of the brain, the organ that cradles the processes of the mind. No amount of biologicizing or medicalizing suicide can gainsay the fact that the human impulse of self‐destruction is a decision of mind to put an end to the flow of its own unbearable conscious contents, to stop the psychache. The explanations for suicidal actions lie in the Oxford English Dictionary, not in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Unless suicidology asserts and maintains the position that suicide is essentially psychachical, that the main focus of suicidal action is in the mind (as opposed to the mind's somatic abode, the brain), it will lose its identity and its usefulness. This is not just a quarrel over professional territory, money, or power; it is a philosophic war, a fight for the very soul of suicidology–and of the mind.

Abstract (sommario):
Within New Zealand there is a definite confusion between the role identity of social workers and support workers within community mental health services. Currently there appears to be a degree of confusion as to the distinguishing features of these two roles. The objective of this preliminary investigation was to identify the similarities and differences within the two discipline areas. The themes identified through the thematic analysis indicated marked similarities between the two roles examined. The fundamental differences identified were the level of qualification, competencies, clinical work and experience of the workers. Scopes of practice are considered as a means of offering individual identities for both disciplines.

Abstract (sommario):
SummaryQuality and safety in healthcare, as an academic discipline, has made significant progress over recent decades, and there is now an active and established community of researchers and practitioners. However, work has predominantly focused on physical health, despite broader controversy regarding the attention paid to, and significance attributed to, mental health. Work from both communities is required in order to ensure that quality and safety is actively embedded within mental health research and practice and that the academic discipline of quality and safety accurately represents the scientific knowledge that has been accumulated within the mental health community.

Abstract (sommario):
This article puts forward a conceptual model for understanding the influence of the learning organization's five disciplines on knowledge management processes. It proposes that the learning process should be measured as a multi-disciplinary construct consisting of personal mastery, mental models, team learning, shared vision, and systems thinking. Potential implications of learning organisation disciplines for the acquisition, sharing, and application of knowledge are illustrated. A number of possible relationships between learning organization disciplines, and knowledge management processes were employed to propose such relationships. This article develops a measure that shows the connection between the learning organization's disciplines and knowledge management processes. Through a conceptualization of the relationships between the learning organization discipline and knowledge management processes the study provides practical guidance for practitioners during the implementation of knowledge management processes.
