Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Marx, famously, ”placed Hegel on his feet” by arguing the primacy of economic and material processes over the spiritual and intellectual. In his analysis, the world advanced, dialectically, through growing contradictions between means of production and relations of production (property relations), mediated by recurrent class struggles. Although material scarcity is by no means absent from the contemporary world, an important scarce resource analysed well by Hegel and largely neglected by Marx, and which is essential today, is self-esteem, including the right to define oneself. Using examples from identity politics in a number of countries, I am trying to show that a democratisation of the means of communication may be a key to a less volatile world and an important dimension of a more equitable world society.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the issues of the global Internet system as a means of intercultural communication, definition of the general concept of web-mediated communication, its functions, features and types in the modern world, which have introduced new forms of dialogue and interaction into socium. Having stepped across national borders and uniting the world’s information resources into a single system, the Internet has become a means of intercultural communication with its own specific genres, defined conditions and factors of communication derived from technological multilinear communication means. Currently, online platforms represent a major means for communities to communicate globally, provide news coverage, exchange ideas, share data and knowledge, study and have fun. In this context, the research of web-mediated communication, its genre characteristics and peculiar features is of utmost relevance, as cultural practice and dialogue between diverse cultures are essential tools in promoting mutual understanding, intercultural learning and exchange. Since there are multiple approaches to defining genres of web-mediated communication, the focus of the article was on revealing their peculiar features and affect on intercultural communication. It is shown that genres in web-mediated communication are based on the technological factor, with their characteristic features being increased complexity and multi-dimensionality, creolization, responsiveness and interactivity as well as enormous user outreach, relevance, accessibility, autonomy and hypertextuality.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper seeks to examine the claim made by Raymond Williams that the means of communication are a means of production. While agreeing with the central claim by Williams, the paper argues that the model which Williams’ represents this claim with is insufficiently realized. By looking at the work of Marx and Althusser in relation to this claim, we suggest a new conceptual tool to actualize Williams’ claims.

Abstract (sommario):
The current study investigated the effect of distance on medium preferences in interpersonal communication. Five experiments showed that people’s preference for using pictures (vs. words) is increasingly higher when communicating with temporally, socially, or geographically proximal (vs. distal) others. In contrast, preference for words is increasingly higher when communicating with those who were distal. A sixth experiment showed that communication’s medium influences distance preferences, such that people’s preference for communicating a message to a distant (vs. proximal) target is greater for verbal compared with pictorial communications. A seventh experiment showed that recipients are more likely to heed a sender’s suggestions when the medium and distance are congruent. These findings reflect the suitability of pictures for communication with proximal others and words with distal others. Implications of these findings for construal-level theory, perspective taking, embodied cognition, the development of language, and social skills with children are discussed.

Abstract (sommario):
In this article, there was highlighted the appearance and formation of communication service in human history, especially, in Khorezm the history of development of communication system dates back to early ancient. Appearance, formation and development processes of it in Khorezm oasis covers several thousand years. In the early periods, the population of the oasis had to use various ways to satisfy their requirements of communicating and relating with each other. It is necessary to emphasize that the geographical location of the oasis also was of great importance in the appearance and peculiar development of communication service in ancient times, together with the ancient history of communications with nomadic tribes in indoor and outdoor territories and states. Because the needs of rulers for the information about the situation in dependent territories always increased after the formation of slave-owning society. The beginning of paying attention to the development of controlling the system of sending and receiving messages and organizing special systems is a process continuously connected with the emergence of writings and there appeared opportunities of sending messages and information in written form because of letters. One of the ancient communication objects, postal service was an object of sending decrees and messages and it was organized in the oasis as state system in the 5th and 4th centuries B.C.. As a result there was organized postal service along caravan roads. There was left information that news bearers and ambassadors of kings were provided with food and fast-running horses in special stops on the ways and they had their peculiar costume and order (payza) approving their profession and position. Those stops were the reason for the rise of communication to a new stage together with serving as a place where tar couriers rest and change their horses.

Abstract (sommario):
Background. The problems of specifics and transformations of social communication are updated in the modern conditions of the contradictory development of the multimedia communication system, which actively affects the processes of socialization. In modern reality, Internet tools often play a more significant role in socialization processes than traditional social agents. The Internet expands the possibilities for revealing the personality, but at the same time gives rise to the risks of socialization of young people. The authors of the article turn to a critical understanding of the concept of GM. McLuhan (1911-1980), Canadian communication technology theorist. The main works of G.M. McLuhan came out in the 60s. XX century, however, the ideas expressed in them are still in demand in world science. Purpose. The authors critically analyze the theory of communications by M. McLuhan, which gives grounds for conclusions about its modern research capabilities and, at the same time, about the gaps left by it, in understanding the processes of socialization of a person in continuous and diverse flows of communication. Methods. In the study, the authors rely on a philosophical and cultural approach, including techniques and methods of sociological analysis of communication, as well as an interdisciplinary approach. Results. As G.M. McLuhan rightly believed, communication processes are the necessary basis for the formation, maintenance and transformation of cultural phenomena and the person himself. The communication theory of G.M. McLuhan demonstrates the influence of technology on changing a person’s thinking, his consciousness, ability to perceive, mentality, lifestyle. Technical means of communication creating new languages of communication fulfill a revolutionary role in sociocultural dynamics in general and in the processes of socialization in particular, creating a universal environment for the formation of personality. At the same time, based on the analysis of the works of G.M. McLuhan, the limitations of a media-oriented approach are shown. The authors of the article demonstrate the advantage of philosophical, cultural and interdisciplinary approaches in domestic communicativism, based not on a technocratic, but on a humanistic dominant. Scope of results. The results obtained can be applied in the study of socio-cultural transformations and communication in the context of global challenges of our time, in the formation of research approaches to understanding the specifics and functions of modern socialization and communication processes.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper examines communication means between Samhan and Chinese dynasties, especially commandery such as Lelang and Daifang. Communication between people and groups using different languages is done through vocal language and write language. After Samhan was established, Chinese character-culture began to spread, especially with the installation of Lelang. However, it is not believed that the Samhan people communicated with the Chinese dynasties or commanderies using Chinese characters well. Communication through the vocal language was the mainstream, accompanied by translation. Translation is generally thought to have been handled by marginal man-like beings such as merchants and diasporas who crossed the border. In the case of communication through write language, it seems that it was one-sided that the document could be received, but the document could not be prepared and sent directly. When receiving the document, it was accompanied by reading and translation, but if Samhan's intention is to be documented, it is highly likely that a Chinese official wrote the document instead through an translation.

Abstract (sommario):
The article examines the impact of business ethics on the formation and maintenance of the company’s reputation in market conditions, which is an important competitive advantage and promotes further development. The purpose of the scientific publication is to study ethics as a regulatory factor in the implementation of effective business communications and their impact on the formation and maintenance of the company's reputation. Attention is paid to the essence of reputation and its dependence on the quality and ethical level of business communications. The nature of the concept of communication is considered historically and the difference between the mechanistic and activity paradigm of communications is given. It has been established that business communications can be considered as a process of ensuring the transfer of information from one entity to another through feedback with a focus on achieving goals. The typology of business communications by environment (external and internal) and by the direction of information flow (vertical and horizontal) is considered. It has been proven that ethics is a regulatory factor that generally determines the possibility of bringing business communications to the desired result, which may vary depending on the field. The modern attitude to communication and tasks of business communication which are directed on establishment of useful long-term business relations for the purpose of achievement of the strategic purposes of activity of business are considered. Any communication, explicitly or implicitly, includes a moral aspect, because the participants in communication interaction are people with their own goals and desires, motivation, and moral attitudes. It has been established that compliance with business ethics has a positive effect on maintaining the reputation of business, which promotes the interest of partners and customers in further cooperation, increases economic attractiveness for investors, creates opportunities for profitability, productivity, and motivation. Keywords: ethics, business communications, management, information support, financial and economic sphere, reputation.

The informational component has been inherent in wars since ancient times, but its intensity, forms and methods were determined by the development of mass communication tools, which took place on the basis of scientific and technological progress. Originating as rumors spread by word of mouth in the enemy’s camp, information methods of warfare were transformed into printed propaganda materials with the advent of printing. However, they reached their greatest flowering with the advent of audiovisual media and communication. During the First World War, documentary films were used for propaganda purposes, but mainly for the mobilization of the own population. Radio, having drastically broken the barriers of information dissemination, significantly strengthened the role of an information factor in the Second World War and, later, in the Cold War. The advent of satellite television relegated radio to the background, as visual illustrations of information diversions made them accessible to the mass consciousness. But the greatest opportunity for the use of mass communication in war came with the advent of the Internet, because it is less censored than other media; it can be used through various electronic devices, informational influence with its help can be carried out covertly. The development of technical means of information transmission does not mean that more advanced means completely supplant less advanced ones. The matter lies only in the priorities of their use. The spread of the information factor in the conducting of wars has led to the appearance of such a variety of them as hybrid wars, in which the information factor plays a leading role in their preparation and an overriding role in their conduct.

Abstract (sommario):
Internet communication and its genres are one of the most relevant issues of modern linguistics. Genres of Internet communication are in constant development. Internet chats started as a platform of phatic communication that provided leisure activities. These days, group chats serve a lot of purposes. For instance, commercial group chats are aimed at online buying and selling. This research focused on two Viber commercial chats that united women-customers and sellers from the city of Saratov (2021–2023). The discursive analysis revealed conflict-free environment, which is not typical of phatic chats, where anonymity usually contributes to the violation of communication and ethical standards. The authors identified the means of harmonizing communication that communicants resorted to for effective interaction. The participants created a benevolent atmosphere by using hypocoristic proper names, emoticons, complementarity, etc. Etiquette genres of greetings, gratitude, compliments, congratulations, and wishes resulted in a balanced communication. Tactics of conflict prevention included solidarity, mitigation, e.g., diminutives, reminders, concern for the addressee, assessment, courtesy, humor, etc. The resulting communicative attraction contributed to effective communication between sellers and buyers. The positive communication experience in such chats may improve the real communication.

Abstract (sommario):
Eukaryotic cells are complicated factories that need ensure productivity and functionality on the cellular level as well as being able to communicate with their environment. In order to do so cells developed intracellular communication systems. For a long time, research focused mainly on the secretory/biosynthetic and endocytic routes for communication, leaving the communication with other organelles apart. In the last decade, this view has changed dramatically and a more holistic view of intracellular communication is emerging. We are still at the tip of the iceberg, but a common theme of touching, kissing, fusing is emerging as general principles of communication.

Abstract (sommario):
The information scope of the last decade has been realized in the integration of various ways of communication into interactive information networks. Combining texts, images, symbols and sounds in one system in a global network and providing accessible and inexpensive access, dramatically changes the nature of social communication. The history of journalism has its stages of development: from ancient to modern forms, from signs to modern information technologies. If the previous centuries are properly described and analyzed by the researchers, the new means of communication require more study. The proposed study attempts to analyze blogs as new means in modern communication. Blogging is somewhat different from journalism in its predominant communicative function, which in traditional media is only available live on radio and television, but information is often censored by a moderator, an editor, who determines who to broadcast and when to do it. The study focuses on whether a blog is a form of new journalism or a new journalistic genre that has entered mass communication. The article as an applied aspect considers ten most popular Ukrainian bloggers on Instagram based on the results of the analysis of online publications. It is concluded that the blogs are powerful producers of information and, as a consequence, correlators of network information flows. Blogging and journalism are two types of mass information and communication activities, between which there are common and different, but both types have a moral responsibility for the content. The websites and social networks systematically provide rankings of the most popular blogs. In such cases, the authors, their age, number of subscribers, topics and a short history of the author are shown, and details of the private life of bloggers are usually displayed. It attracts the attention of the consumer of information.

Abstract (sommario):
This article attempts to analyze means of communication such as euphemisms and dysphemisms in a political cartoon. Free expression of personal and public opinion, political humor and political cartoon became an important part of the information sphere. This makes the genre of political cartoon more relevant than ever. The cartoon consists of verbal and visual components, which make the choice of communication tools in the text especially difficult. This determined the problem of our study. We have analyzed political cartoons published in the American media. Using the method of content analysis, we selected 174 euphemisms and dysphemisms, which we divided into lexical-semantic categories. As a result, euphemisms are used frequently in political cartoon than dysphemisms, which, is caused by the genre specificity, thus, the ironical effect is achieved by the contrast between the verbal and visual components.

Abstract (sommario):
Translation is considered to be the most economical type of intercultural communication. This idea is announced by Monica Năstase, a Romanian researcher who investigated the difficulty of translating realia words from Romanian into English. Realia are words and expressions for culture-specific items. As realia carry a very local overtone, they often represent a challenge for translators. They are born in popular culture, and are increasingly found in very diverse kinds of texts. In this paper we discuss the translation variants of such realia words as “colac”, “ie”, “mămăligă”, “horă” and “dor” from Romanian into English as they represent translatable lacunas and the interpreter has to be very accurate in transposing them into another language. At the same time we concentrate on the ways of rendering word combinations containing „privacy” lexeme in English, a value which is typical to the English and American cultures, and analyse variants of these realia words translated into Romanian.
