The goal of this thesis is to give an effective construction of a cofibrant resolution of the Balteanu-Fiedorowicz-Schwänzl-Vogt operads M_n, which govern iterated monoidal categories. In a first part of the thesis, we study thoroughly the definition of monoidal structures in 2-categories, and the definition of operads in monoidal 2-categories, with the 2-category of categories as a main motivating example. Then we prove that the category of operads in the category of small categories inherits a model structure by transfer of the folk model structure on the category of small categories. We introduce a notion of polygraphic presentation of operads in the category of small categories in order to define operads with generators and relations in both the operadic direction and the categorical direction at the morphism level. We revisit the definition of the operads M_n in terms of polygraphic presentations, and we gives a presentation of an operad M_1^infinity that provides a cofibrant resolution of the operad M_1 in the folk modelstructure. Eventually, we study a generalization of the Boardman-Vogt tensor product in the context of operads in the category of small categories. We use this construction to provide a cofibrant resolution M_n^infinity of the operad M_n from the resolution M_1^infinity of M_1, and hence, to address the initial question of the thesis

The main focus of this thesis is the theoretical study of strongly interacting quantum mixtures confined in one dimension and subjected to a harmonic external potential. Such strongly correlated systems can be realized and tested in ultracold atoms experiments. Their non-trivial permutational symmetry properties are investigated, as well as their interplay with correlations. Exploiting an exact solution at strong interactions, we extract general correlation properties encoded in the one-body density matrix and in the associated momentum distributions, in fermionic and Bose-Fermi mixtures. In particular, we obtain substantial results about the short-range behavior, and therefore the high-momentum tails, which display typical k^−4 laws. The weights of these tails, denoted as Tan’s contacts, are related to numerous thermodynamic properties of the systems such as the two-body correlations, the derivative of the energy with respect to the one-dimensional scattering length, or the static structure factor. We show that these universal Tan’s contacts also allow to characterize the spatial symmetry of the systems, and therefore is a deep connection between correlations and symmetries. Besides, the exchange symmetry is extracted using a group theory method, namely the class-sum method, which comes originally from nuclear physics. Moreover, we show that these systems follow a generalized version of the famous Lieb-Mattistheorem. Wishing to make our results as experimentally relevant as possible, we derive scaling laws for Tan’s contact as a function of the interaction, temperature and transverse confinement. These laws. A Multimodal Hub is a complex transportation system which has the role to interconnect several public and private transportation modes in order to promote intermodality practice. Because of many observed problems (such as recurrent congestion phenomena inside stations, high transfer times, long queues in front of services, etc. ) which contribute to deteriorate the image of public transport in general, it becomes more and more important for transit authorities to be able to perform many performance measures for identifying the causes of these problems and trying to find solutions. The main goal of the PhD thesis is to propose a simulation model for evaluating the main performance factors of multimodal transportation hubs. Among the most important quantitative factors, we can mention occupancy rates, queue lengths, mean service times, evacuation times, and measures related to intermodality practice such as connection times and waiting times. The suggested simulation model is based on Batches Petri nets which are an extension of Hybrid Petri nets. This paradigm is suitable for our study because it offers a multiscale modular modeling approach which allows mastering the complexity of the studied system. Besides, it offers formal analysis techniques for checking and design (control) purposes. This simulation model can be successfully used for (i) evaluating existing multimodal hubs, (ii) validating design projects of new multimodal hubs, and (iii) assisting designers during sizing and planning procedures

We are interested in the homogenization of heat transfer in periodic porous media modelling the geometry of a gas cooled nuclear reactor. This geometry is made of a solid media perfora- ted by several long thin parallel cylinders, the diameter of which is of the same order than the period. The heat is transported by conduction in the solid part of the domain and by conduc- tion, convection and radiative transfer in the fluid part (the cylinders). A non-local boundary condition models the radiative heat transfer on the cylinder walls. It is a stationary analysis corresponding to a nominal performance of the reactor core, and also non-stationary corres- ponding to a normal shut-down of the core. To obtain the homogenized problem we first use a formal two-scale asymptotic expansion method. The mathematical justification of our re- sults is based on the notion of two-scale convergence. One feature of this work in dimension 3 is that it combines homogenization with a 3D to 2D asymptotic analysis since the radiative transfer in the limit cell problem is purely two-dimensional. A second feature of this work is the study of this heat transfer when it contains an oscillating thermal source at the mi- croscopic level and a thermal exchange with the perforations. In this context, our numerical analysis shows a non-negligible contribution of the second order corrector which helps us to model the gradients appearing between the source area and the perforations

This thesis deals with voluntary disclosure of information during takeover bids. It consists of three articles that are concerned with a different step of the disclosure process in this context. The first article aims at explaining the voluntary disclosure decision of target companies by studying factors influencing disclosure during such transactions. The results highlight that this decision is mainly explained by the influence of contextual factors. The second article identifies, through a lexical analysis of voluntary press releases, the discourse strategies adopted by both bidding and target companies and the underlying motivations. Finally, in the third article, an experiment is conducted to investigate the influence of disclosure and impression management strategies of the targets of hostile bids on shareholders. It turns out that these strategies modify their perception of the bid and ultimately their decision to accept or reject the bid

In a traditional supply chain, production, inventory and distribution operations are treated separately due to the complexity of jointly planning these operations and the lack of information shared among stakeholders. Today, in order to face the fierce competition in the global market, companies are forced to jointly plan these activities in order to benefit from the economic and environmental benefits generated by this integration. Among the optimization problems existing in the literature, the integrated planning problem which jointly optimizes production, inventory management, distribution and vehicle routes decisions, has recently received considerable attention, despite its NP-hardiness. Indeed, its benefits in terms of synchronization between processes, cost reduction and improved service level can be significant. In addition, the optimization of this problem in the context of closed-loop supply chains with End-of-Life Product (EOL) management leads to the development of increasingly sustainable supply chains. Furthermore, growing concerns about environmental issues linked to industrial activities have led to the emergence of policies to control carbon emissions. Taking these regulations into account can have a positive impact on the company's environmental responsibility. To meet these challenges, the objective of this thesis is to design models and develop optimization approaches to solve an integrated planning problem of production, remanufacturing, storage and direct-reverse distribution operations. We considered a closed-loop supply chain consisting of a production line for new products, a remanufacturing line for returned EOL products, two types of inventories for reusable products and EOL ones to be remanufactured, as well as customers with dynamic demands for delivery and pickups. The goal is to determine the optimal amounts to produce, remanufacture and store, as well as the order of visiting customers in order to meet their requests simultaneously for delivery and pickup, while minimizing the total cost due to the involved operations. First, a linear integer model is proposed to optimize the supply chain system by considering one or more vehicles with limited capacity. The second part of the thesis concerns the development of a two-phase decomposition heuristic to solve the extended integrated model. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the integration of carbon dioxide emissions into production, remanufacturing, inventory and distribution decisions and to study the behavior of carbon emission levels in the context of cap-and-trade policy. Numerical experiments make it possible to demonstrate the applicability and the limits of our approaches
