Abstract (sommario):
The aim of this research was to examine the effect of light intensity on the growth of Shorea balangeran (Korth.) Burck seedling. This research was carried out at the nursery. The experiment was arranged in Randomized Complete Design with four treatments and three replications. Light intensity was rated using single, double and triple layers of black sarlon on top of the seedlings and natural shading. The result of the research showed that the increased in light intensity significantly decreased the growth of height, diameter, leaves area and total dry weight, but not the number of leaves. The highest growth of S. balangeran seedlings occurred in the natural shading treatment. The storage of S. balangeran seedlings in the nursery can be done by reducing the intensity of the light while still maintains its quality

Abstract (sommario):
Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) is a way of using information technology to record a violation of traffic. This ETLE was developed to support security, order, and safety in traffic. Some cities or districts in Indonesia have started to apply this ETLE in several locations, which usually have traffic lights and frequent violations at these locations. In this paper, one of the elements in ETLE is tested, which is a traffic light signal detector, which will be used as a basis for whether a vehicle violates a traffic light or not. This detector uses a CCTV camera mounted on the location. It then analyzed the intensity of several image areas on the traffic lights in red, yellow, and green. From the test results, this method can determine the conditions of the traffic lights with 100% accuracy

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: In today’s era of illuminating devices, there are a wide variety of devices available in aesthetics but the none with variable intensity of light. Using the basic principle of polarization of light using a Polaroid filter or polarizer, the designing of a light intensity control was done. The polarizing angle of the filter decides the intensity of the light that would pass through the filters. According to the principle of propagation of light, the electric and magnetic vibrations of a light wave occur perpendicularly to each other. A light wave that is vibrating in more than one plane is known as unpolarized light. The light emitted by the sun, by a lamp or a tube light are all unpolarized light sources. The other kind of wave is a polarized wave. A Plane polarized light vibrates on only one plane. The process of transforming unpolarized light into the polarized light is known as polarization. Using the same principle and with the use of a LDR (light dependent resister) as a sensor to sense the intensity of the surrounding light and then rotate the polaroid filter sheets accordingly using a stepper motor for the required change in intensity. The sensing and sending of feedback and subsequent rotation of the Polaroid filter sheets would be automated by ATMEGA32 microcontroller and L293D. Abstract (sommario):
A stationary lift net requires an effective fishing light attractor. The intensity and distribution of light are important factors to increase the effectiveness of fishing light attractors. This study aimed to probe the distribution of light intensity and its effect on the effectiveness of fishing light attractors. This research employed a descriptive-comparative method by comparing the effectiveness of LED lights with kerosene lights. The results showed that the concentration of fish school in LED lights was at a depth of 4–10 m with a light intensity of 1x10-8– 10x10-8 W/cm2, while the kerosene lights was deeper than LED lights at a depth of 8–12 meters with a light intensity of 1x10-8– 10x10-8 W/cm2. The distribution of fish schools from LED lights tends to be concentrated and form larger schools than kerosene lights. The optimum light intensity of LED and kerosene lights was almost the same, in the range of 1x10-8– 10x10-8 W/cm2, with concentrations of fish schools reaching 65% and 64%, respectively. The total catch of LED lights fish during eight fishing trips was 168.5 kg or an average of 21.06±2.32 kg/trip, while the total catch of kerosene lights was 139.6 or an average of 17.5±1.98 kg/trip.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between the intensity of light hitting the LDR to the resistance and the flame of the light. The research created an automatic lighting system, in which the lighting system was designed to turn on or off lights by light intensity. This research created automatic light controls using LDR light sensor. The LDR light sensor set is used as a switch that turns on or off a light automatically based on the recieved of intensity of light. By using the LDR components, it can design a series of light sensors for such items as outdoor light sensors, sleeping lights, garden lights, road lights that turn on at night and go out during the day automatically. The equipment used of the research were 2 test lamps, and done with 2 lighting sources, a natural source of lighting and an artificial source of lighting. From the research, it showed that the large light intensity affects the light flame by using LDR light sensor. It could be concluded that the greater of the light hitting intensity from the LDR surface was smaller than the value of the resistance and the flickering of the light. In contrast, the less light that affects the LDR, was the greater value of LDR resistance and lighter the light.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract - This tool is made to facilitate human work in controlling the intensity of light on the lamp using PID control. To adjust the light in a room requires a control of light intensity which will adjust the light intensity and conditions in the room. So one method is to use PID control using a light sensor. The intensity control system emitted by lights with a light sensor will adjust to the conditions of the room. With the addition of PID control on the light sensor so that it can speed up the response of the system. To design the light intensity control, this study was conducted. Where the value of set (set point) as a value that will be a reference of the control system commonly called Set Value (SV). Then the controller that will become the control system is the PID control system. Then go to the MOSFET driver to convert it from the microcontroller block to the actuator. After that, proceed to the plant system section where there is an actuator in the form of a DC light and its light intensity is measured with an LDR that functions as feedback in the form of a digital light sensor. The digital signal from the sensor output will then be entered into the controller PV). Interference will be given to the actuator in the form of external light such as incoming sunlight, or, can be the addition of light and / or reduction of light with lights. Abstract (sommario):
Emerging lighting technologies provide opportunities for reducing carbon footprints, and for biodiversity conservation. In addition to installing light-emitting diode street lights, many local authorities are also dimming street lights. This might benefit light-averse bat species by creating dark refuges for these bats to forage and commute in human-dominated habitats. We conducted a field experiment to determine how light intensity affects the activity of the light-opportunistic Pipistrellus pipistrellus and light-averse bats in the genus Myotis. We used four lighting levels controlled under a central management system at existing street lights in a suburban environment (0, 25, 50 and 100% of the original output). Higher light intensities (50 and 100% of original output) increased the activity of light-opportunistic species but reduced the activity of light-averse bats. Compared to the unlit treatment, the 25% lighting level did not significantly affect either P. pipistrellus or Myotis spp. Our results suggest that it is possible to achieve a light intensity that provides both economic and ecological benefits by providing sufficient light for human requirements while not deterring light-averse bats.

Abstract (sommario):
SUMMARY This study investigated the influence of battery charge levels on the stability of light-emitting diode (LED) curing-light intensity by measuring the intensity from fully charged through fully discharged batteries. The microhardness of resin composites polymerized by the light-curing units at various battery charge levels was measured. The light intensities of seven fully charged battery LED light-curing units—1) LY-A180, 2) Bluephase, 3) Woodpecker, 4) Demi Plus, 5) Saab II, 6) Elipar S10, and 7) MiniLED—were measured with a radiometer (Kerr) after every 10 uses (20 seconds per use) until the battery was discharged. Ten 2-mm-thick cylindrical specimens of A3 shade nanofilled resin composite (PREMISE, Kerr) were prepared per LED light-curing unit group. Each specimen was irradiated by the fully charged light-curing unit for 20 seconds. The LED light-curing units were then used until the battery charge fell to 50%. Specimens were prepared again as described above. This was repeated again when the light-curing units' battery charge fell to 25% and when the light intensity had decreased to 400 mW/cm2. The top/bottom surface Knoop hardness ratios of the specimens were determined. The microhardness data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance with Tukey test at a significance level of 0.05. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine significant correlations between surface hardness and light intensity. We found that the light intensities of the Bluephase, Demi Plus, and Elipar S10 units were stable. The intensity of the MiniLED unit decreased slightly; however, it remained above 400 mW/cm2. In contrast, the intensities of the LY-A180, Woodpecker, and Saab II units decreased below 400 mW/cm2. There was also a significant decrease in the surface microhardnesses of the resin composite specimens treated with MiniLED, LY-A180, Woodpecker, and Saab II. In conclusion, the light intensity of several LED light-curing units decreased as the battery was discharged, with a coincident reduction in the units' ability to polymerize resin composite. Therefore, the intensity of an LED light-curing unit should be evaluated during the life of its battery charge to ensure that sufficient light intensity is being generated.

Abstract (sommario):
The innovative LED light source (Sun Box) with irradiation spectrum close to the sun spectrum in the wavelength range 440-660 nm was used in experiment for study the influence of light intensity (75, 135, 230 and 382 μmol/s*m2) on the growth and development of plants. Standard fluorescent lighting was used as a control. The experiments were carried out on plantlets ofStevia rebaudianaandSolanum tuberosum, cvs. Snegir, Rozhdestvenskiy and Kamchatskii)in vitro. The illumination intensity of 75 and 230 μmol/s*m2promoted development ofS. rebaudianaplantlets with optimal values of morphometric parameters and well developed roots, which is important for plantlet adaptation to soil conditions. ForS. tuberosumplantlets (Snegir and Rozhdestvenskiy cultivars), radiation intensity of 135 μmol/s*m2was optimal for micropropagation. The illumination intensity of 230 μmol/s*m2led to a formation of plantlets with the largest total fresh mass among experimental groups. Sun Box light with intensity of 75 μmol/s*m2could be applicated for micropropagation of these cultivars: plantlets were the highest with the largest internodes number. Thus, the plant response to different light intensity was species-spesific, and – in case of potato plantlets – cultivar-spesific. The use of artificial light sources with distinct PPFD level could be preferable forS. tuberosumandS. rebaudianaplantlet micropropagationin vitro, as it could shorten the cultivation time, accelerate cultivation time, and reduce the cost of electricity.

Abstract (sommario):
Background: Although moderate intensity maternal exercise is recommended during pregnancy, most women do not achieve this level. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effects of supervised maternal light-intensity exercise on fetal cardiovascular measures in the 3rd trimester. Materials and Methods: We compared women participating in light-intensity (LI) stretching/breathing or no exercise (CON) across 24+ weeks of pregnancy Women with singleton pregnancies (<16 weeks), between 18-40 years, 18.5-34.99 kg/m2 BMI, and having no chronic health conditions were eligible. LI did 150 minutes light-intensity weekly exercise; CON did normal daily activities, but no exercise. Maternal measures included resting heart rate (HR) and blood pressure (BP). Fetal measures included estimated fetal weight (EFW), ponderal index (PI), HR, along with right and left ventricular measures (e.g., stroke volume, cardiac output, ejection fraction) at 36 weeks’ gestation. T-tests compared differences between groups; partial spearman rank correlations and regressions were performed to find relationships and predict fetal echocardiographic outcomes, controlling for fetal activity state. Results: Of 50 pregnant women (n=26 in LI, n=24 in CON), we found maternal exercise intensity influences fetal left ventricular heart flow, while maternal exercise duration influences fetal right ventricular outcomes. There were no differences (p>0.05) in fetal cardiac anatomical measures. Lastly, light intensity exercise and duration of exercise lower maternal blood pressure in late pregnancy. Conclusions:Light-intensity exercise is associated with improved fetal cardiac measures. Women benefit from light intensity exercise during pregnancy. Cardiovascular benefits from exercise for mother and child are dose dependent.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Objective: To compare the microleakage of the enamel-adhesive-bracket complex at the occlusal and gingival margins of brackets bonded with high-intensity light curing lights and conventional halogen lights. Materials and Methods: Forty-five freshly extracted human maxillary premolar teeth were randomly separated into three groups of 15 teeth each. Stainless steel brackets were bonded in all groups according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Specimens (15 per group) were cured for 40 seconds with a conventional halogen light, 20 seconds with light-emitting diode (LED), and 6 seconds with plasma arc curing light (PAC). After curing, the specimens were further sealed with nail varnish, stained with 0.5% basic-fuchsine for 24 hours, sectioned and examined under a stereomicroscope, and scored for microleakage for the enamel-adhesive and bracket-adhesive interfaces from both the occlusal and gingival margins. Statistical analyses were performed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U-tests with a Bonferroni correction. Results: The type of light curing unit did not significantly affect the amount of microleakage at the gingival or occlusal margins of investigated interfaces (P >.05). The gingival sides in the LED and PAC groups exhibited higher microleakage scores compared with those observed on occlusal sides for the enamel-adhesive and adhesive-bracket interfaces. The halogen light source showed similar microleakage at the gingival and occlusal sides between both adhesive interfaces. Conclusions: High-intensity curing units did not cause more microleakage than conventional halogen lights. This supports the use of all these curing units in routine orthodontic practice.

Abstract (sommario):
In the study, Porphyridium cruentum was cultured under laboratory conditions at 20±2°C, 16:8 (light:dark) photoperiod and continuous aeration to different salinity (20‰, 30‰, 40‰) and two different light intensities (37 µmol m-2s-1 photon and 110 µmol m-2s-1 photon) and growth was determined. Dry matter, optical density and chlorophyll a parameter were used to determine growth. The best growth was determined in culture with a salinity of 30‰ at 110 µmol m-2s-1 photon light intensity. In this group, the optical density (OD) was 1.504±0.003 and the dry matter amount was 1.327gl-1. In the case of 37µmol µmol m-2s-1 photon light intensity, the optical density values were found to be similar in groups with 30‰ and 50‰ salinity and were found to be 1.234±0.004 and 1.215±0.002, respectively. The amounts of dry matter were also similar; 1.168gl-1 and 1.159gl-1, respectively. While the lowest growth was in the culture at 37 µmol m-2s-1 photon light intensity and 20‰ salinity. The optical density obtained on the last day of this group was 1.165±0.004 and the dry matter amount was determined as 0.986gl-1. The amount of chlorophyll a was determined in the cultured groups at the best 37 µmol m-2s-1 photon light intensity.

Abstract (sommario):
Street light usually set to turn on at night based on fixed time setting. In rainy condition, it will be better that the street light turned on and the color of light is yellow instead of white for effectiveness of human sight. In this research, a system which could control the street light will be designed by considering environmental light intensity, rainy condition, and time setting. Fuzzy Mamdani method is used to adjust the level of the street light intensity. The experiment results show that the system work properly. The light intensity of the street lights can change automatically adapting the brightness of environmental light and rainy or non-rainy conditions through the fuzzy process with the highest light intensity about 248.93 (in 0-255 PWM range) with an average error between experiment results and simulation using Matlab about 0.05%. In rainy condition, the color of the street light will turn to yellow from default color (white).

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this study was to study the effect of various light colors and shape on light intensity and visual contentment levels. This research was experimental research consisting of two variables consisting of light colors with four colors: red, yellow, green, and blue, and three different lamp shapes: round, spiral, and essential. The lamp used for color variations had a power of 2.5 watts, while the lamp used for variations in shape had a power of 5 watts. The parameters studied in this study were the lighting and the light intensity produced. The data analysis technique used in this study contained the value of light intensity and the percentage of visual contentment levels obtained from the questionnaire results. The results showed that the yellow light had the highest light intensity of 40 CDs, this result was supported by a questionnaire that showed the contentment level of respondents in the bedroom using a yellow light was 70%. Round lights have the highest intensity because they did not produce a luminous effect, thus producing very little lamp energy waste.

Abstract (sommario):
Quartz-tungsten halogen light curing units (LCUs) have been the main source of light for the polymerization of resin based composites (RBCs) for several decades. Since the beginning of the 20th century, however, their use has been reduced due to the invention and improvement of LED LCUs. Various factors can cause a decrease in the light intensity of LED LCUs, one of which is diode aging. The aim of the present paper is to study the change in light intensity of LCUs after different periods of intensive use. For this purpose, the light intensity of 94 regularly used LED LCUs aged between 1 and 10 years was measured with a digital radiometer. The devices were used in conventional mode with maximum light intensity. It was found that regardless of the type and model of LCU, there is a direct relationship between the time of use and light intensity - the longer the operation period of a device is and the more used it is, the lower its intensity is. The decrease in light intensity as devices age is different for different models, as well as for different devices of the same model. In the studied LCUs with a 10-year period of use, 77.5% have light intensity lower than the required minimum of 400 mW/cm2, which makes them unusable. It can be concluded that dentists should regularly monitor and measure the light intensity of their LCUs, especially as they age, to ensure the longevity of their restorative procedures.

Abstract (sommario):
Healthy sleep lights that will be proposed for community service are the results of research in which the use of LED lights (Light Emitting Diode) is activated with a maximum power of 3 Watts, so that the power consumed is quite low. This healthy sleep lamp also has some uniqueness such as turning on and off with sound by utilizing applications installed on smartphones. This voice control application can also be used to vary the color of the light. This lamp can be turned on and off by touching the light nest by using a sensor system and also the color and brightness of the lamp can be adjusted using the RGB control application on the smartphone. Intensity test results for LED lights 112 - 996 (Weber / m2). The standard intensity limit for healthy bulbs based on H. Steve, H. Gaube and J. Winterhager is 3,000 (Weber / m2), so that meeting the intensity standard is an LED lamp. Our long-term goal is to develop research results into products that have economic value, facilitate students to develop creativity and innovation and create jobs by partnering with partners.
