Testo completoShared reading, a play-based activity that involves interacting with a child around a book story and its illustrations, has been studied for many decades for its beneficial effects on language development. Research on typical children has shown that it enriches vocabulary and, possibly, promotes the learning of morphosyntactic structures. It could therefore be useful to promote this practice among children with language difficulties. This is particularly true for children with intellectual disabilities, who require regular and substantial language support to develop their lexical and morphosyntactic skills. However, research on the effectiveness of this activity is still in its beginning. In this thesis, we set out to address this question by implementing an interventional study. A randomized controlled trial was carried out with children aged 6 to 12 enrolled in instituts médico-éducatifs, which are special school for children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities. Various tests were administered to all participants during the pretest. They consisted of two cognitive tests, four lexical tests and four morphosyntactic tests. Each language component was evaluated from both receptive and expressive perspectives. The language tests consisted of a balance of standardized and experimental tests, constructed for the purposes of the study. These tests, containing items directly related to the vocabulary or morphosyntactic structures worked on during the intervention, were designed to provide a more sensitive assessment of the participants' language skills. A total of 108 children with mild to moderate intellectual disability were included in the study. They were divided into two groups. The first group ("VOCABULARY") benefited from dialogic reading sessions, a particularly interactive form of shared reading. These sessions focused on the learning of 30 target words. The second group ("MORPHOSYNTAX") took part in dialogic reading sessions too, focusing on the learning of 3 morphosyntactic structures. At the end of the sessions, the language tests were administered again. A comparison of the two groups' performances indicates that training the VOCABULARY group significantly improved participants' comprehension and production of target words. This result confirms the findings of previous research on typically developing children, and opens up interesting clinical perspectives and avenues for future research projects in the field of intellectual disability. On the other hand, the results obtained on the morphosyntax tests do not allow us to conclude that the dialogic reading sessions were effective in improving the skills of our participants, possibly because the number of sessions was too low and/or because the morphosyntactic component of language was less malleable. However, the data collected provide food for thoughts and suggestions for future interventional work aimed at fostering the development of morphosyntactic skills of children with intellectual disabilities

Testo completoThrough a developmental perspective and in the wake of previous works about the psychogenesis of writing, the research presented in this doctoral dissertation studies the early encounters between the child and the book, mediated by the reading aloud of the adult. The family practices regarding children’s books have been assessed from questionnaires filled out by parents for 165 children. The interactions have been observed for 67 child(ren)/parent(s) dyads on three separate occasions. 75 children have attended monthly reading workshops involving different modes of interaction with the adult reader, from neutral to participatory. The results thus obtained set the average advent of canonical book use around the child’s seventeenth month. The book’s canonical construction phase alters the book status in the eyes of the child, from an object to manipulate to one of support for shared reading. For the parents, the child’s canonical phase has no influence on the status they grant the book, as the majority of parents distinguish clearly reading from playing. The child adapts its mode of communication and its involvement in the activity based on the adult’s degree of participation, from neutral to participatory. Our observations and analyses during the early encounters with the book object have outlined three profiles of children and parents, based on their mode of communication, the status granted to the book, family practices and the involvement in the activity. Carried by the adult, the early encounters between the child and the book appear as necessary steps toward the psychogenesis of writing

Testo completoThe dissertation investigates both the effects of the idea and knowledge sharing forums and blogs, which foster the formation process of young readers’ literary competence, and the conditions which favor or limit these effects. This general problem has two complementary sides:- the existence of questioning about the reading skills manifested in social practices of the idea exchanging among readers but usually ignored to be implemented;- a question on skill maintenance through the reflection of the read texts by combining online work and face-to-face.To be able to form a sound opinion around these questions, we are examining a non-academic forum of teenagers as well as various hybrid teaching devices, designed and implemented by 10 high school teachers based in Île-de-France in socially varied institutions. The dissertation, taking into account the ethnomethodological approach that carefully examines the social and didactic contexts specific to each studied case, pursues three interdependent objectives. It is a question of specifying the processes by which the reader conducts an imaginarily and emotionally involved reading to distinguish the specifications of the different uses of the forums and reader blogs and to find out what maintains or inhibits the interpretative work under certain circumstances. We first propose a theoretical model of intelligibility of the output collected. Secondly, we analyze teenage readers’ idea exchanging forum to distinguish the specifications of this field and thus contributes to a better understanding of the transposition of social practices at school. Thirdly, we evaluate the effects of various school uses of forums and reader blogs on interpretive work.Three hypotheses were examined in the dissertation. On the non-academic forum of adolescent readers, we conjectured the expression of interpretative reading skills unknown or unnoticed in school context. Concerning hybrid teaching practices, on one hand we have been waiting for the maintenance of the involved and critical reading work in the digital spaces and on the other hand, in face-to-face feedbacks and on asynchronous writings. The strengths and limitations of the studied situations lead to recomendations for the implementation of hybrid approach and hereby for the training of teachers

Testo completoThis Ph.D. thesis questions the evolution of literary figures when they overflow places « of their own » to which they are usually bound (art circles, literary program, classrooms, specialized websites), and invest highly standardized, non-literary devices. We seek to analyze the « space » dedicated to literature-related contents on three audiovisual platforms: YouTube, Instagram and Tumblr. We formulate the hypothesis of the homotopic nature of some contents (literary « challenges », reading « vlogs », « bookporn », etc.), which assume their willingness to adapt to the industrialized functioning of these platforms. This claimed homotopia is directly linked to the versatility of the devices, which are economically valued through the formulation of a « neutral » mediator status. Consequently, sharing literary contents is not assimilated to a subversive misappropriation by the uses, but to a simple possibility of specification among many others, anticipated by the interface. The representations of the reader (part one), the book (part two) and activity of reading (part three) are analyzed in the light of a socio-semiotic, diachronic and iconographic approach. The qualitative analysis of those « shared images » eventually reveals a regime of popularity that combines with, rather than replaces, the regime of singularity. By investing circulating forms, the standardized specificities of the reading experiences that are displayed re-mediatize a « social » function of literature, between collective symbolic systems, technical framing and commercial stakes
Saied, Mariem. "Automatic code generation and optimization of multi-dimensional stencil computations on distributed-memory architectures". Thesis, Strasbourg, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018STRAD036/document.
Testo completoIn this work, we present Dido, an implicitly parallel domain-specific language (DSL) that captures high-level stencil abstractions and automatically generates high-performance parallel stencil code for distributed-memory architectures. The generated code uses ORWL as a communication and synchronization backend. We show that Dido achieves a huge progress in terms of programmer productivity without sacrificing the performance. Dido supports a wide range of stencil computations and real-world stencil-based applications. We show that the well-structured code generated by Dido lends itself to different possible optimizations and study the performance of two of them. We also combine Dido's code generation technique with the polyhedral loop optimizer Pluto to increase data locality and improve intra-node data reuse. We present experiments that prove the efficiency and scalability of the generated code that outperforms both ORWL and MPI hand-crafted implementations

Testo completoData Handover is a library of functions adapted to large-scale distributed systems. It provides routines that allow acquiring resources in reading or writing in the ways that are coherent and transparent for users. We modelled the life cycle of Dho by a finite state automaton and through experiments; we have found that our approach produced an overlap between the calculation of the application and the control of the data. These experiments were conducted both in simulated mode and in real environment (Grid'5000). We exploited the GRAS library of the SimGrid toolkit. Several clients try to access the resource concurrently according the client-server paradigm. By the theory of queues, the stability of the model was demonstrated in a centralized environment. We improved, the distributed algorithm for mutual exclusion (of Naimi and Trehel), by introducing following features: (1) Allowing the mobility of processes (ADEMLE), (2) introducing shared locks (AEMLEP) and finally (3) merging both properties cited above into an algorithm summarising (ADEMLEP). We proved the properties, safety and liveliness, theoretically for all extended algorithms. The proposed peer-to-peer system combines our extended algorithms and original Data Handover model. Lock and resource managers operate and interact each other in an architecture based on three levels. Following the experimental study of the underlying system on Grid'5000, and the results obtained, we have proved the performance and stability of the model Dho over a multitude of parameters

Testo completoThe organisations of the innovative techniques, the products, the associated processes, the industrialisation and the territorialisation, have become the fundamentals of the creation of economic value. The partial market equilibrium approach does not allow for the complete understanding of this economic value. The actors in the dairy sector evolve strategically therefore the actors are gifted with intelligence which is not only logical. In the economic history of products, techniques and institutions, the agents have multiplied new forms of coalition themselves to better impose their new commercial arguments. This practice proceeds through organisation, service delegations and conventional rules. This posture allows us to lead a triangular analysis composed of the SCP model of industrial economy, the economy of conventions and the regional economy. The empirical and theorical stake is, if our arguments verify is that the dairy Sector allows mechanically, to appropriate the resources such as know-how, reputation, quality, included in the milk product or around the milk and externally of the markets. The organisation becomes a base of continuous creation of economic value and appropriates the distribution of this value between the sectors. In the dairy sector the branch representation by partial market equilibrium is approximate because our actors are capable of transforming their structure of market. This behaviour appears through price negotiations at the inter-professional level and through ambiguous compromises between the economic and industrial. The actors therefore invent new intentional values but in a framework of regional politics and conventional regulations. Disagreements between the stakeholder delegations are due to the creation of economic values and the contradictory interests of the sharing of these values. The free market regulation becomes problematical and the behaviour of the actors is more and more constrained by the codes, collective modes of evaluation of objects and operations can be found in the activity domains of milk production and transformation of dairy products
