Artykuł poświęcony jest oryginalnej postaci księdza marianina, Krzysztofa Szwermickiego (1814-1894), zesłańca na Sybir z połowy XIX wieku, następnie wieloletniego proboszcza w Irkucku, tam zmarłego. Na bazie nowych materiałów – ksiąg parafialnych parafii Dauksze (dziś na terenie Litwy) – przechowywanych w Archiwum Historycznym Litwy w Wilnie autor ustala wiele faktów, prostuje zadomowione w literaturze błędy w biografii księdza Szwermickiego, jednej z najciekawszych, wyjątkowo pozytywnych postaci Kościoła katolickiego w Rosji. Co najistotniejsze w ustaleniach to m.in.: że urodził się 6 września 1814 roku w rodzinie włościańskiej, z ojca Adama i Katarzyny, we wsi Warnupiany, w parafii Dauksze w okolicach Mariampola, 8 września został ochrzczony imieniem Krzysztof; nosił nazwisko rodowe Szwirmicki, które z czasem zmienił na Szwermicki, choć znano go, opisywano także jako Szwernicki. Zmarł w Irkucku 31 października (według kalendarza juliańskiego) 1894 roku, a pochowano go 3 listopada na cmentarzu Jerozolimskim (mogiła nie istnieje). W literaturze historycznej zapisywano go częściej: Szwernicki; autor tekstu dowodzi, że powinno się go pisać: Krzysztof Szwermicki, a pełniej – Krzysztof Szwermicki (Szwernicki).

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wprowadzenie do tekstu Dominique’a Pestre’a, który został wygłoszony na konferencji „Parmi les hommes, les objets et les signes / Among humans, objects and signs. Hommage à Krzysztof Pomian”. Wydarzenie to zostało zorganizowane z okazji 85. rocznicy urodzin prof. Pomiana, jednego z najwybitniejszych żyjących polskich naukowców, od 1973 r. mieszkającego i pracującego głównie we Francji. Konferencja odbyła się w Paryżu w dniach 4–6 kwietnia 2019 r. Jej uczestnikami byli współpracownicy, uczniowie i przyjaciele Krzysztofa Pomiana z Polski, Francji, Belgii, Holandii, Wielkiej Brytanii, Niemiec i Izraela. W artykule został krótko opisany każdy z trzech dni konferencji ze szczególnym podkreśleniem znaczenia prac Krzysztofa Pomiana w takich dziedzinach, jak historia kolekcji i muzeów, historiografia, historia Europy. Wystąpienie Dominique’a Pestre’a zostało umiejscowione w kontekście zainteresowań badawczych Krzysztofa Pomiana oraz rozwoju historii nauki we Francji od lat 80. do dzisiaj. Na koniec zwrócono uwagę na istotne znaczenie sieci relacji przyjacielskich i intelektualnych w rozwoju nauki.

Teza. Kunstkamera Jana Švankmajera to projekt o skomplikowanym układzie znaczeń, którego nie można jednoznacznie przyporządkować do jednej kategorii w kontekście teorii Krzysztofa Pomiana o semioforach. Omówione koncepcje. Artykuł opisuje artystyczny projekt kunstkamery czeskiego surrealisty Jana Švankmajera w kontekście teorii semioforów Krzysztofa Pomiana oraz porównuje ją do jej tradycyjnych i historycznych odpowiedników odwołując się do koncepcji mikro- i makrokosmosu, teatru świata, hermetyzmu i alchemii. Wyniki i wnioski. Kunstkamerę Jana Švankmajera powinno analizować się w kontekście nie tylko społecznym, ale przede wszystkim indywidualnym i subiektywnym. Oryginalność/wartość poznawcza podejścia. Krzysztof Pomian opisywał różne przykłady tradycyjnych kunstkamer, tymczasem istnieje kilka współczesnych przykładów tego typu kolekcji, wcześniej nieopisanych w publikacjach w języku polskim.

Artykuł dotyczy mało znanego, pierwszego etapu funkcjonowania pałacu Belweder w Warszawie (Ujazdów), który został wybudowany z drewna (1659–1663) przez Krzysztofa Zygmunta Pac, kanclerza Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego jako ekskluzywna podmiejska willa. Jej powstanie nawiązywało do tradycji otium, willi włoskich, ale też do znanego z czasów dynastii Wazów kreowana siedzib otoczonych ogrodami, które również spełniały funkcje reprezentacyjną. Fundując Belweder Pac stworzył ekskluzywną, choć drewnianą, siedzibę położoną na malowniczej skarpie Wisły, przy reprezentacyjnej trasie prowadzącej do Warszawy. Podarował ją swojej żonie, Klarze Isabelli de Mailly Lascaris, krewnej królowej Ludwiki Marii, spowinowaconej z najwybitniejszymi rodami francuskimi, a także z cesarzami bizantyjskimi. W ten sposób Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac nawiązał do tradycji miejsca, bowiem dobra Ujazdów były związane z Anną, księżniczką mazowiecką oraz Anną Jagiellonką. Dzięki wykorzystanym w artykule źródłom ikonograficznym i archiwalnym udało się zrekonstruować wygląd budynku i otaczających go ogrodów, a także przywołać wyposażenie pałacu z czasów Krzysztofa Zygmunta Paca. Parterowy pałac zbudowano na planie kwadratu, na wysokim cokole, z reprezentacyjną galerią otwierającą się na widok od strony Wisły. Projektantem budowli był najpewniej Tylman van Gameren. The Belvedere Palace of Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac and Klara Isabelle de Mailly The article deals with the little-known, first stage of the history of the Belvedere residence in Warsaw when it was constructed and arranged (1659–1663) by Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac, Chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Referring to a tradition, established in the times of the Vasa dynasty, of seats surrounded by gardens and of an antique otium and Italian villa, Pac created an exclusive seat, albeit made of wood, situated on a picturesque escarpment of the River Vistula, on the ceremonial route leading to Warsaw. He gave it to his wife, Klara Isabella de Mailly Lascari, a relative of Queen Marie Louise and a descendant of the most eminent French families, who at the same time was related to the Byzantine emperors. In this way Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac drew upon the tradition of the place, as Ujazdów had been connected with Anna, Princess of Mazovia as well as Anna Jagiellon. Thanks to iconographic and archival sources as yet not analysed, it was possible to reconstruct the outline of the building and at least partially map its furnishings. The villa was constructed on a square plan, erected on a high plinth as a ground-floor building with four sections, with a representative gallery opened wide onto the Vistula side. It appears from this that the palace was designed by Tylman van Gameren.

W artykule staram się dowieść, że fotografia artystyczna, za sprawą technologii wytwarzania „mieniących się, syntetycznych wizerunków” (K. Linker, On Artificiality), może stać się medium sztuki ze społecznością, tworzonej wraz z osobami systemowo pozbawianymi widoczności w sferze publicznej. Posługując się metodą analizy ikonograficznej, opisuję wybrane fotografie portretowe Krzysztofa Marchlaka prezentujące wizerunki osób należących do społeczności LGBTQ w Polsce. W konkluzji nawiązuję do wykonanej przez artystę wielkoformatowej fotograficznej panoramy Paradiso, którą interpretuję jako zaangażowany społecznie, „mieniący się, syntetyczny wizerunek” sztucznego raju dla wygnanych z królestwa binarnych opozycji płciowych. Artificial Paradises for the Expelled. Krzysztof Marchlak’s Art Photography as a Medium for Performing Queer Identities In the article, I try to demonstrate that artistic photography which involves the use of technology of creating “shimmering, synthetic appearances” (K. Linker, “On Artificiality”) can become a medium for community art projects developed with people who are systemically excluded from view in the public sphere. Applying the method of iconographic analysis, I describe selected portrait photographs by Krzysztof Marchlak that feature images of people who belong to the Polish LGBTQ community. I draw in conclusion upon the artist’s large-format photographic panorama Paradiso, which I interpret as a socially engaged, “shimmering, synthetic appearance” of an artificial paradise for people expelled from the kingdom of binary gender oppositions.

In my dissertation essay I am trying to analyse the relationship between a documentary and a feature film in the works of Krzysztof Kieślowski, their mutual interconnection and merger which intensively occurred in the early period of his creation. A progress from director - documentarist to the director of feature film. The advancement from recording reality to later efforts for its closest possible reconstruction in a fictional story. The reality which will become an important thought and inspiring material for the director but also a binding burden. His sensitive reception of the role of author - director in relation to his own works and mainly to the moral and ethical side of both professional and private life. These are the aspects of Kieślowski´s works I aimed to demonstrate on his particular films.

La recherche a pour theme krzysztof penderecki : style et materiaux. Elle s'organise et se presente sous trois angles d'approche correspondant aux trois parties respectivement intitulees : "histoire", "analyse", "concept". Dans la premiere, on se propose de donner quelques precisions sur la vie musicale en pologne apres la deuxieme guerre mondiale et sur l'evolution de la composition contemporaine de la musique dite savante. Dans la seconde partie, on procedera a l'analyse des elements du langage, du "sonorisme" et des rapports qu'entretient la partie musicale avec son equivalent litteraire. Enfin la troisieme partie destinee au concept de l'espace sonore va s'interesser a la dialectique du continu et du discontinu du discours sonore et aux relations qu'entretiennent la forme ecrite et la forme vecue de l'oeuvre de penderecki. La recherche, dont la methode est analytique, pour davantage de clarte dans l'evolution stylistique de penderecki, suit l'ordre chronologique de la publication des oeuvres
The theme of this research is k. Penderecki, his style and materials. Its organisation appears according to three different approaches corresponding to three different chapters. History analysis concept the first part intends to present a few pieces of information about musical life in poland after world war ii. It will also explain how the contemporaneous composition of the so-called scholarly music has evolved so far. A second part will carry out an analysis of the elements of language and of "sonorism" as well as of the relationship between the musical element and its litterary equivalent. In the end, the third part, intended for the idea of sound space will be the matter of the dialectif of continuum and discontinuity of sound expression and for the relationship between written representation and real life representation ofpenderecki's works. To make penderecki's stylistic evolution lighter, this research, with its analytic method, follows the chronology of his works publication

Cette étude a pour thème le rôle social et politique de l'art contemporain. Pour appréhender ce sujet, nous avons décidé de nous pencher sur la manière dont Krzysztof Wodiczko conçoit l'art, qu'il définit comme une pratique socio-esthétique agissant au sein de la culture dans le but de la transformer. Ainsi, nous avons porté notre attention sur une de ses prestations esthétiques : "le Porte-parole" (1994). Pour l'artiste, cet Instrument destiné aux immigrés leur permet de prendre la parole dans l'espace public et de s'opposer à leur exclusion. Mais que peut signifier l'utilisation d'un objet esthétique? Comment se manifest-t-elle? A quelles "techniques de désaliénation" K. Wodiczko a-t-il recours? Quelles peuvent-être les conséquences de ce travail sur l'espace démocratique? En retraçant l'histoire de ce projet, nous nous attachons à décrire le mode d'apparition du Porte-parole, nous observons étape par étape (à partir notamment d'entretiens réalisés auprès des "performeurs/immigrés") les conditions de son utilisation et les effets qu'il produit sur ses utilisateurs. L'analyse des composantes et de la structure du signe, l'emploi des notions d'in situ, de performance, de fiction, l'usage de concepts appartenant aux champs de la psychanalyse, de la sociologie, de la linguistique, nous permettent de participer à la réflexion sur le rôle cognitif de l'art
This study takes as its theme the social and political role of contemporary art. In approaching this subject, we have decided to direct our attention to the way in Krzysztof Wodiczko which conceptualises art, which he defines as a social-aesthetic practice operating within the heart of culture with the idea of transforming it. We have thus focussed upon one of this artistic performances : the "Mouthpiece" (1994). For the artist, this Instrument made for immigrants allows them to speak out in the public domain and to opose their exclusion from it. But what could the use of such an aesthetic object signify? How will it present and reveal itself? To which techniques of de-alienation does Krzysztof Wodiczko have access? What could the consequences of this work be in a democratic arena? In retracing the history of the project, we commit ourselves to describing the way in which Mouthpiece presents itself we observe stage by stage (working, in particular, from the interviews that resulted from working closely with "performers/immigrants") the conditions of their use and the effects which they produce on their users. The analysis of the components and structure of the sign, the deployment of notions of the in-situ (site contextuality), performance and fiction, the use of concepts pertaining to the fields of psychoanalysis, sociology, linguistics, enable us to participate in the reflection upon the cognitive role of art

Comencé a pensar en dedicar mi tesis a Krzysztof Kieslowski desde que supe debía elegir un tema, lo elegí porque me considero admiradora de su filosofía sobre cómo hacer cine haciéndolo un medio de comunicación, la forma en que nos cuenta sus historias, su arte, su manera de ver la vida y transmitirla. En el Capítulo 1 veremos el Cine de Posguerra en Polonia, dado que Kieslowski director y guionista era polaco, y su trabajo lo desarrolló posterior a la segunda Guerra Mundial, la privatización de los países socialistas y el impacto que generó en la comunidad éstos cambios, cosa que para Kiesloswki fue de alta relevancia, por ello es importante conocer dicha etapa para comprender los motivos del Director en “El Decálogo” (1988-89). Pretendo tener un background sobre el cine de los ochentas en Europa, para tener un contexto del director, ya que se encontraba en el centro de las convulsiones poscomunistas. En el Capitulo 2 conoceremos sobre la vida y obra de Krzysztof Kieslowski quien nació en Varsovia en una familia de clase modesta. Tras 2 intentos fallidos de ingresar a la escuela de cine de Lodz y graduarse, comenzó haciendo documentales, cortometrajes, después fue creador de largometrajes como “Personal”(1975), “La doble vida de Verónica”(1991), “Breve Historia sobre el amor”, “Breve Historia sobre la muerte”(éstos 2 últimos extraídos de “El Decálogo” 1988), más tarde fue acomodado a la industria francesa y legó una trilogía testamentaria inspirada en los colores de la bandera francesa (1991-94) Considerándose éstas como sus últimas películas. Posterior a su muerte aparecieron 3 textos filmicos realizados con su eterno guionista y colaborador Piesiewicz tilulados “Cielo, Infierno y Purgatorio”, actualmente ha sido llevada al cine la de “Cielo” por el director Tom Tykwer (2002) y la de “Infierno” de Danis Tanovic (2005).

Am 17. Oktober 2003 verlieh die Fakultät Geschichte, Kunst- und Orientwissenschaften der Universität Leipzig Krzysztof Penderecki 'als einem Repräsentanten polnischer Kultur im Widerstand gegen den Kommunismus in Anerkennung seiner Verdienste um die Weiterentwicklung der Neuen Musik seit den 1950er-Jahren sowie die deutsch-polnischen Kulturbeziehungen und die Verständigung zwischen den beiden Ländern' die Ehrendoktorwürde. Aus diesem Anlass fand vom 17. bis 19. Oktober 2003 am Institut für Musikwissenschaft der Leipziger Universität eine internationalewissenschaftliche Konferenz statt.:Einleitung Krzysztof Penderecki: Rede anlässlich der Verleihung der Ehrendoktorwürde der Universität Leipzig am 17. Ryszard Parosa, Andrzej Brożyński, Piotr Grześkowiak, Krzysztof Kowalczyk, Marek Natoński, Piotr Ziętek and Janusz Żytkiewicz PROMIS-TECH Poland Keywords: microwave treatment, low pressure heating, microwave drying Uniquely favourable characteristics of biological product can be obtained through the use of the microwave method in vacuum heating process. Microwave-vacuum drying is superior to other methods in terms of dried products' structure, flavour, colour and biological active compounds contents. But applications of such a methods seems to be much wider: drying of fruits and vegetables for consumption, drying of herbs for extraction of valuable biological compounds, for modification of seed structure (sunflowers seeds, pumpkin seeds), for pasteurisation etc. A universal system was designed for testing such processes in laboratory scale and several industrial scale system have been developed. Process of thermal treatment can be carried out with plastic drum installed inside of multi-mode microwave cavity and cavity which is connected by microwave line with reflectometer and circulator - to microwave generator. In laboratory unit generator 2.45 GHz with controlled power (from 50W to 800W) was applied. System was equipped with vacuum pump with pressure control and is controlled by computer. Most important technical parameters, like: microwave power, time of treatment, pressure inside of drum, temperature of steam – are controlled and recorded. Laboratory scale unit is shown below. Basing on laboratory scale test several technologies in industrial scale was developed. Industrial scale unit equipped with 8 generators of 3 kW (2.45 GHz) was constructed and for last 8 years has been successfully used for “production” of crispy chips which are now popular in Polish marked. Exemplary industrial scale installation is shown in photo below. Multi – drum microwave drier. Two cavity microwave industrial drier Another system for modification od seed is now constructed – ordered by big industrial producer of batons and sweet snacks. Process will be carried our inside of dielectric drum in low pressure and reactor will be equipped with 8 generators of 3 kW (2.45 GHz). Treatment time will be reduced to 3-4 minutes and next material (seeds) will be cooled down. Last project which now realized is connected with drying of wood flour applied in composite material production. System will work continuously with two airlocks and with dielectric drum and will be connected with 4 microwave generators (3 kW, 2.45 GHz). In next step planed installation will be equipped with microwave high power generator ca. 60 kW with frequency 915 MHz.

The topic concerns the revitalization of a place by the introduction of a new building whose functionality and architectural uniqueness renew and/or develop the place. To put the problem in a broader perspective - the introduction of a building with a non-threatening function and an attractive form makes a declining or stagnant place suddenly appealing again. This applies to both, the built and natural environment. The restauration of both often requires similar revitalization activities and supporting elements.The presented issue is a part of a broader study that concerns architecture as the fine art of building, covering the topic of sustainability in architectural and urban design. The so-called “human factor” is an essential element for shaping a place. It is an element of urban and architectural design of new places. By creating new and different workplaces in declining or stagnant districts, also by introducing unusual architectural forms or materiality, a place can become attractive to users. Previously declining built or natural environment - suddenly become a desirable, growing place. Contemporary international research conducted by neuroscientists confirms the importance of the desire for beauty in ones surroundings. Thus, architectural beauty becomes a vital and economically significant factor in the shaping of the built and natural environment.Present processes of revitalization are usually supported by emphasising elements that make up the “human factor”. It involves balancing the functionality and beauty of an object as important in creating a PLACE in architecture.The topic is presented on the example of architecture of the following buildings:-Gymnasium and Cultural Center in Białołęka, 2006 is located on the edge between urban and landscape areas, on the right bank of the Vistula escarpment. The architectural form reflects the natural landscape. Traditional materiality blends with the context nearly perfectly. -The small buildings of the Cultural Center, 2013, on the outskirts of Warsaw, create a contrast of geometry and materiality to the high-rise blocks of flats. In its shape and material there is a longing for tradition expressed in a balanced, non-intrusive way.-The Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice, 2017. The university building for artistic education was tasked to create a PLACE in a declining district. It impresses with its simplicity and its materiality of the traditional material – brick that is presented in a new, changed form. - Stone Pavilion Golędzinow, 2020 is a small building that tells Warsaw residents about nature conservation. The buildings form was created in the image of a post-glacial fossil. It is an object which shape and materiality seems as if taken directly from the natural world. - Press Glass offices in Konopiska, 2021, built in an unexpected place for this type of building. It is located in a former wasteland which was turned into a golf course. The building is intended to promote the excellence of glass - it reflects the green surroundings, and its form builds the uniqueness and beauty of architecture.The co-author of this publication is the designer of the first and fifth example.
