Abstract (sommario):

Citizenship, rather than ethnicity, determined the treatment of immigrants during Canada’s first national internment operations (1914–20). Italians were concurrently treated as friends and enemies. Those born in Italy were “friendly” aliens. Those born in Austria (Trentino, Tyrol, and Trieste) were declared “enemy” aliens and subjected to monitoring, arrest, and internment. Personal narratives are constructed for most of the fifty-one interned Italians. Many of them rebuilt their lives in Canada. The goals of this article are to (1) establish the identities and narratives of internees, (2) determine why and where they were interned, (3) relate their experiences during and after internment, and (4) determine whether any organizations intervened on their behalf. Thematic headings include (1) pre-1914 immigration and settlement of Italians from Austria, (2) wartime predicament of Italians, (3) initiatives of diplomats and ethnic organizations, (4) internee narratives, and (5) aftermath of internment.

Internship is a phase of training wherein a medical graduate is expected to conduct actual practice of medical and health care and acquire skills under supervision so that he/she may become capable of functioning independently. It was a recommendation of Bhore Committee that there should be three months training of medical undergraduates in preventive and social medicine to prepare â€œsocial physiciansâ€ during their internship training.(1)There is two months training for internee doctors in community medicine; one month in Rural Health Training centre and urban health training centre each. The focus of this training duration is to orient the internee doctors at community located either at rural or urban area, so that they can be prepared of dealing with community at large after successful completion of internship. This article is an attempt to help the officials to plan or direct the internee doctors for various activities in field during their posting in community medicine department.

Abstract (sommario):

James Mace Ward framed his argument as a case of “legitimate collaboration, based on administrative documents and individual memoirs. As a survivor of the Santo Tomás Internment Camp (January 1942–February 3, 1945), Irene Hecht suggests that the concept of collaboration distracts from an understanding of the camp's realities. She distinguishes four stages in the evolution of the internee experience: denial; “lemonade from lemons”; making do; and struggle for survival. Survival was always the issue, but how it was defined and framed changed over time. Hecht suggests that the internees' experience should be seen as a history of a community's survival in which their sociopolitical heritage was a crucial factor in ensuring the survival of most of the inmates.

During World War II the Japanese Imperial Army concentrated several thousand Allied civilians at the Santo Tomáás Internment Camp in Manila, the Philippines. Internee and Japanese administrators subsequently collaborated extensively to run the camp. Since its liberation in 1945, however, the camp's English-language historians have tended to tell the camp experience as a resistance story. This article explores both the history of the camp and its historiography through archival and published sources. It argues that the tendency to recast collaboration into resistance stems from an understanding of collaboration as inherently illegitimate. By conceiving of collaboration as a behavioral category within which lies a spectrum of moral and political legitimacy, the historian can work against this inclination to misunderstand the past.

Introduction: In this modern era the number of new HIV infections has dropped; but Pakistan remains among few regional countries witnessing an increase in cases. On the other hand most, Pakistani people have inadequate knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS. In a study conducted in Pakistan concluded that it is a mutual misconception in overall population or society is that being Muslim, HIV cannot be contracted.Objective: To assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice about HIV/AIDS among post-graduate medical Doctor of Medicine Working in the tertiary care Hospitals of Karachi.Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study was done at three randomly selected tertiary care hospitals of Karachi. All the postgraduates’ medicine’s trainee of three hospitals were approached for data collection. The data was collected by the principal investigator through structured questionnaire based on 31 questions regarding knowledge, attitude, practice and management of HIV/AIDS patients by the participants. The study duration was 6 months. SPSS version 24 was used to analyze data.Results: The study showed that the one third of participants (35.3%) had adequate knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS, whereas large number of internees had adequate attitude (69.7%) towards HIV Patients, and almost one fourth participants had adequate practice and management (26.1%) approach towards HIV/AIDS cases.Conclusion: The Postgraduate internee has sufficient attitude, while poor knowledge and practices towards HIV/AIDS cases. To improve HIV/AIDS management strategy, it is highly recommended to create awareness among health care provider as well as general population through emphasis on all components of KAP.Keywords: KAP, HIV, AIDS, tertiary care hospital.

In the current period of the globalization processes of the XXI century it is important to be aware of the exter- nal orientations and national priorities of Ukraine in the world scene. That presents a significant challenge, which depends on the state’s ability to implement its national, cultural, ethnic interests and needs, which are its motive power, and to pre- serve a set of values, symbols and customs to guarantee peace and safety and contribute to development and improvement as well as to be prepared for holding out against threats of external in internal confrontation, separation, identity crisis, political and religious instability. Therefore it is topical to study the works which help gain an understanding of historical truth and get to know the national ethnogenepool of Ukrainians better, which is the basis of their socio-political experience. Applying that approach to the little-known travelogue “Ukrainians in Egypt” by a Ukrainian political emigrant Hryts Bozhok the author of the article has developed a literary critical, historical and cultural understanding of the work concern- ing travels to the Near Eat which have not been thoroughly studied yet in Ukrainian humanistic sciences. The means of psy- chologism (the author’s characterization, diary notes, self-esteem, duality, portrait, detail, language, memories, scenery) are considered in the article. They show the psychophysiology of the character of a military internee who had to stay in a closed foreign place and who was worried about those times’ issues of a nation creation as well as general spiritual ones. In the essay the controversial topic of a political emigration in the history of Ukrainian society at the beginning of the XX century is raised. The subject of artistic generalization of belles non-fiction is the historical time of that period which was perceived by the character during forced travels when Ukraine was a fighting platform of different political forces: Denikins, Petliuras, Makhnos, Red Army men. Unordinary events were reflected in the character’s existence, in his memory. The mem- ory is a basis of the national identity and national consciousness, therefore such works by emigrants are a part of Ukrainian ethnic literary tradition and help understand its historical course through the prism of modern times. This information also contributes to better understanding of the process of the recent historical experience in Ukrainian state creation.

In this article, the authors present the teachings of nêhiyaw (Cree) Emerging Elder and Knowledge Keeper Joseph Naytowhow. In a celebrated nêhiyaw (Cree) fashion, storytelling and language are used as examples of a non-linear and sometimes complicated journey back to self, culture, nature and healing. Against the background of being kidnapped, imprisoned in a religious institution, and robbed of all-things nêhiyaw (Cree), this article offers a sense of Joseph Naytowhow’s journey back to intimacy, love, and affection which aids in one’s search for emotional safety. Joseph utilizes nêhiyawîhtwâwin (Cree worldview and culture) knowledge tools such as dreaming to aid in his journey back to nêhiyawîhtwâwin (Cree culture) and nêhiyawêwin (Cree language). From a residential school internee to a leader and emerging Elder, he notes the importance of mentors in a relational approach to healing. This article provides an invitation through “the sunrise song” to “Wake up!” and create a more respectful and reciprocal world of internal wholeness.

In 1949, French intellectual David Rousset publicly called on Nazi camp survivors to bear witness to the existence of a “concentration camp universe” in the Soviet Union. Rousset, a former Buchenwald internee and an influential author, demanded that his fellow survivors identify in unqualified terms with the suffering of Soviet prisoners. Even as he colluded with Cold War governmental agencies, Rousset claimed that the imperative to oppose concentration camps existed “beyond” political or ideological commitments. This essay analyzes the arguments about suffering, politics, and memory made by Rousset and his contemporary critics, notably Jean-Paul Sartre. It responds to Rousset's admirers who have overlooked distinctive aspects of his project: his rhetoric of apoliticism, his demand for complete identification with victims, his exclusive interest in limit-case abjection as opposed to injustice in general, his interpretation of the Nazi camps that centered on forced labor rather than on genocide, and his avoidance of the language of human rights.

Gene Oishi’s autobiographical and episodic novel Fox Drum Bebop (2014) will likely be one of the final novels published by someone who was an internee in the detention camps in which the US government imprisoned Japanese Americans during the Second World War. As such, it presents complicated questions about temporality, rep- resentation, and the processes of trauma. Through focusing on the protagonist Hiroshi Kono (largely, though not restrictively, based on Oishi’s own life experience) and his siblings who have distinct ideological reactions to their ethnic identity and their wartime experience, Oishi explores how internment at once lasted for a determinate period but continues to extend in space and dilate in time for as long as the memories of it endure. The novel uses the musical aesthetics of jazz as a correlate for this discontinuous process- ing of experience. Oishi’s narrative asks if those who suffer oppression and trauma can ever find peace, and how, if at all, having a long life and reflecting upon the past can alter one’s sense of what happened.

The lagoa Salgada is situated on the north coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro, between the districts of Campos dos Goytacazes and São João da Barra, at 41º00'30'' W and 21º54'10''S. In the margins of the lagoon the presence of recent stromatolitic constructions was verified. The stromatolite may be defined as lithified biosedimentary structure, growing through the increase of sediment blade trapping by the carbonate precipitation as result of microbian organism activity. The objective of this study was to describe and to determine the internal morphology of domal type stromatolite of the lagoa Salgada. Through cutting, three different stages were observed: the first (base) is present as a thrombolitic stage with spread blade; the second (intermediary) is a thrombolitic-stromatolitic stage with spread and continuous blade; the third (top) is stromatolitic and the most recent stage of the structure, presenting continuous blade and with interruptions rare. Besides the presence of cyanobacteria and mollusk shells, were observed also internee palinomorphs inside the domal stromatolite. It was possible to observe that filament cyanobacteria contributed to the formation of blade of domal stromatolite and the microgastropod contributed for the destruction of the blade.

Dr Henry Shimizu was a dedicated Canadian plastic surgeon with Japanese roots who spent his career practicing in Edmonton at the University of Alberta Hospital. He relished the opportunity to share his expertise by training residents and medical students. Dr Shimizu completed his plastic surgery training in the United States and was central to establishing the plastic surgery training program in Edmonton. Beyond clinical practice, Dr Shimizu was a prominent advocate in his community, serving as the Chairman of the Redress committee for Japanese internment. As a talented painter, he had produced magnificent oil paintings based on childhood recollections as an internee in the Slocan Valley. Dr Shimizu has made significant contributions to Canadian plastic surgery serving as president of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons in 1978. His clinic work and dedication to the community at large were recognized with the Order of Canada in 2004 and more recently an honorary degree from the University of Victoria. Dr Shimizu continues to golf, paint, and travel in his retirement. He is happily married to his wife Joan and is the proud father of 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

The article analyses the last period of life and activity of the head of the Separate Corps of Border Guards General O. Pylkevych during the internment of the Army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in camps in Poland (1921–1922). Being in various command positions, O. Pylkevych always remained true to himself and his own principles – in relation to subordinates he was consistently demanding and unyielding, while adhering to the requirements of military statutes. O. Pylkevych believed that one of the basic requirements during military service is the discipline of officers and Cossacks, their observance of subordination, their conscientious execution of all orders of direct commanders and senior military commanders. It is necessary to emphasize the sincere patriotism of O. Pylkevych and his complete devotion to the ideas of the UPR – he made every effort to unite the nationally conscious core of the Ukrainian army, supporting the idea of creating a community of officers as an additional tool to influence the demoralized part of the camp. The general also took care of the development of public centres designed to intensify cultural and educational work in the ranks of the interned troops of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. But the general did not always have enough tact and diplomacy in communicating with certain representatives of the Polish military authorities in the camps, and his excessive categoricalness sometimes caused disapproval among some of the top officials of the UPR Army. As a result of O. Pylkevych’s inability to build business relations with the Polish camp authorities, he was twice removed from the post of head of the internee groups in Lancut. At the same time, it is necessary to emphasize the expressive patriotism of O. Pylkevych – he made every effort to unite the nationally conscious core of the Ukrainian army in the camps, supporting the idea of creating a community of officers as an additional tool to influence the demoralized part of the camp. The general also took care of the development of public centres designed to intensify cultural and educational work in the ranks of the interned troops of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. Throughout his stay in the camps, O. Pylkevych was an example of conscientious performance of military duty, subordinating his life to the interests of the interned Ukrainian army.

Zusammenfassung. Dieser Beitrag dokumentiert Unterschiede in der Durchführung zwischen internen und externen Assessment Centern (AC) an einer Stichprobe von N = 281 deutschen, schweizerischen und österreichischen Organisationen. Der Vergleich der Maßnahmen interner und externer AC zeigt, dass interne AC mit einem höheren Aufwand betrieben werden als externe AC (z. B. Mehraufwand bei der Entwicklung und Aktualisierung des AC, höhere Übungs- und Beobachteranzahl). Da diese Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung unterschiedlicher Testgütekriterien beitragen, sind Unternehmen offenbar speziell im Falle interner AC an einer Qualitätssicherung interessiert. Dies wiederum hängt nach unserer Interpretation mit der unterschiedlichen Ausgangslage (u. a. bereits getätigte Investitionen in Humankapital, geringere Reversibilität der Personalentscheidungen bei internen AC) interner und externer AC zusammen.

W artykule opisano kulturowo-artystyczny element codziennego życia obozowego internowanych żołnierzy Armii URL w Strzałkowie w okresie od lipca 1921 do sierpnia 1922 r. W tym czasie w obozie działało kilka zespołów dramatycznych artystów amatorów, chór pod dyrekcją D. Kotki, dwie improwizowane orkiestry (instrumenty smyczkowe i dęta). Dzięki tym grupom artystycznym uwięzieni mieli okazję uczestniczyć w przedstawieniach teatralnych, występach chórzystów, koncertach muzyki instrumentalnej. Ponadto ich wspólnym wysiłkiem regularnie przygotowywano różne wydarzenia artystyczne („koncerty”) dla internowanych, które były połączeniem różnych przedstawień teatralnych, chóralnych i muzycznych. Wspólny wysiłek obozowych artystów, chórzystów i muzyków znacząco przyczynił się do przezwyciężenia groźnej tendencji do degradacji i rozproszenia internowanego wojska ukraińskiego. Cultural and Artistic Life of the Ukrainian Internee Soldiers of the Army in Strzałkowo Internment Camp (July 1921-August 1922) In the submitted article not only the cultural but also artistic part of the daily life in internment camp was written. The everyday life of soldiers was also mantioned. The work describes the period from July 1921 to August 1922. It was the time when in the internment camp the dramatic groups was very active. The actos who take part in the theaters groups were the amateur artist. People were active in a waried field of study or art such as: the choir, the orchestra (string and wind instruments). Thanks to those artistic groups people in the internment camp had the chance and possibility to take part in theatre performances or choir concerts or the instrumental concerts too. Moreover theirs shared effort allow to organise in a regular way many artistic perfomances and events. The artistic events were the compilation of the wariety of arts sphere. The common effort of the cams artists, choir’s singers, musicans was the key to find a solution of the problems. That was the factor which significantly contributed to overcoming the dangerous tendency to degradation and dispersion of the interned Ukrainian Army.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is poised to revolutionise the way we live and communicate, and the manner in which we engage with our social and natural world. In the IoT, objects such as household items, vending machines and cars have the ability to sense and share data with other things, via wireless, Bluetooth, or Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology. "Smart things" have the capability to control their performance, as well as our experiences and decisions. In this exploratory paper, we overview recent developments in the IoT technology, and their relevance for criminology. Our aim is to partially fill the gap in the literature, by flagging emerging issues criminologists and social scientists ought to engage with in the future. The focus is exclusively on the IoT while other advances, such as facial recognition technology, are only lightly touched upon. This paper, thus, serves as a starting point in the conversation, as we invite scholars to join us in forecasting-if not preventing-the unwanted consequences of the "future Internet".

The man. Harald Weinrich, an honorary member of the modern language association since 1996, may be the quintessential interdisciplinary humanist. Having mastered French as a young internee in France at the end of World War II, he began his academic career as a Romance philologist in the tradition of Erich Auerbach and Ernst Robert Curtius, with professorships successively at the universities of Kiel and Cologne. In a second career he became a professor of linguistics at the new University of Bielefeld (which he helped to found and where he served as director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research); then he established in Munich the first program for the teaching of German as a foreign language. Following his compulsory retirement, he received the honor (extraordinary for a foreigner) of an appointment as professor of Romance studies at the prestigious Collège de France, from which he is now also retired. He has published writing of great scholarly and public resonance in all these areas. Among his voluminous output (translated into many languages) are Tempus, a wide-ranging and meticulously nuanced study of tense use in the major literatures of Western Europe; a prizewinning short book of cultural linguistics entitled Linguistik der Lüge (Linguistics of Lying); “text grammars” of French and of German that aim to record not just morphology and syntax but also the usage problems that confront speakers and writers of all foreign languages; Lethe: Kunst und Kritik des Vergessens (Lethe: The Art and Critique of Forgetting, his first book to appear in English) and much other work on cultural topics, including memory and politeness; and dozens of essays on the teaching and learning of languages and on problems of intercultural understanding.

RÉSUMÉCet article cherche à préciser le schéma diglossique de description du français envisagé dans Zribi-Hertz (2011a), qui propose de représenter la compétence linguistique d'un francophone par deux grammaires internes en intersection, respectivement étiquetées Grammaire Standard et Grammaire Dialectale. Quel est le statut de la Grammaire Standard dans ce schéma ? S'agit-il bien d'une grammaire interne, au sens où l'entend la grammaire générative ? Ou seulement d'une grammaire externe incarnant une norme imposée aux locuteurs par des grammairiens ? L'hypothèse ici défendue est que les deux grammaires sécantes du schéma diglossique doivent bien être des grammaires internes, mais que la Grammaire Standard interne, régie en tant que telle par le Principe de Cohérence présidant à toute grammaire interne, est à distinguer de la Norme Académique fixée de façon institutionnelle sur la base d'écrits attestés produits par des auteurs divers, et qui échappe de ce fait au Principe de Cohérence. L'argumentation de cet article s'appuie sur une étude de cas: les syntagmes nominaux sans nom lexical (DPSN) en français hexagonal moderne, dont les propriétés attestées ne sont pas prédites par la grammaire énoncée par la Norme Académique. Da der Mitarbeiter eine Grenzposition zwischen Organisation und Kunden einnimmt, wird angenommen, dass Kundenorientierung von Mitarbeitern entscheidend zur Kundenzufriedenheit beiträgt. Die Kundenorientierung des Mitarbeiters wiederum wird Schneider, Ehrhart, Mayer, Saltz, und Niles-Jolly, (2005) zufolge maßgeblich vom internen Dienstleistungsklima beeinflusst, das mit zwei bedeutenden Faktoren im sozialen Gefüge von Organisationen zusammenhängen sollte: Der Einstellung von Vorgesetzten zur Kundenorientierung und dem affektiven organisationalen Commitment von Mitarbeitern. Zur Überprüfung wurden Ärzte und Therapeuten niedergelassener Praxen und Kliniken sowie ihre Kunden (die Patienten) befragt. Es wurden 681 Kunden 166 Mitarbeitern sowie 30 Vorgesetzte 116 Mitarbeitern zugeordnet. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung stützen die Hypothesen: Personale Kundenorientierung von Mitarbeitern korreliert mit Kundenzufriedenheit, internes Dienstleistungsklima korreliert mit personaler Kundenorientierung von Mitarbeitern. Der stärkste Zusammenhang zum internen Dienstleistungsklima zeigt die Kundenorientierung des Vorgesetzten. Weiterhin mediiert das interne Dienstleistungsklima partiell den Zusammenhang zwischen der Kundenorientierung von Vorgesetzten und Kundenzufriedenheit sowie den Zusammenhang zwischen Commitment und Kundenzufriedenheit.

The paper examines the views of Internet users concerning the protection of their rights on the Internet. The Web survey, conducted by the snowball sampling, included 783 Internet users who expressed their views regarding the ways the state (Serbia) and private agents (Facebook and Google) relate to the right of freedom of expression and privacy on the Internet. Also, the survey was used to examine the individual responsibility of users when it comes to the use of Internet services. Several hypotheses suggested that Internet users in Serbia do not have confidence in the country and private actors on the issue of protecting their rights. However, users also do not demonstrate a satisfactory level of individual responsibility. The most important findings indicate that: 1) only one-sixth of the respondents consider that the Government of the Republic of Serbia does not violate the privacy of Internet users; 2) almost half of the respondents do not feel free to express their views criticizing the government; 3) almost 90% of users are not satisfied how Facebook protects their privacy, while it is 1% lower in the case of Google; 4) a third of respondents answered positively to the question whether they had read terms of use of the analyzed companies, but half of them did not give a correct answer to the main questions; 5) only 8.9% of respondents who claimed to have read terms of use are aware of the fact that Facebook shares their data with third parties.

This study emphasizes the importance of practical implementation of internal audit in companies with respect to the legal sector, which will contribute to the attitudes, interpretations of the law, to use the total funds available to companies in an economical, efficient and effective manner. In addition, one of the goals of top management in any case is that the system they lead provides better services that are integrated, customer-oriented and result-oriented, which requires that the entire system be focused on measuring performance. The authors point out that such an integrated system will result in a more efficient and effective implementation of the basic guidelines set by top management, as well as more efficient management of the total available funds of the system.

BACKGROUND Internet becomes an indispensable means for basic and optimal survival along with career advancement in present context and at the same time this widely used tool has addictive property; this property may, further, lead to many psychosocial problems in health. This study intended to evaluate the relationship and the risk of Internet addiction and their psychosocial wellbeing among medical students in Manipur. METHODS This is a cross-sectional study conducted among medical students and internees in JNIMS. The study duration was from 8th September 2014 to 5th October 2014. There was universal coverage of the students and internees. The tools used in the study were self-administered questionnaires including demographic profiles, Internet addiction test and DASS-42 (Depression, Anxiety and Stress). Data entry and analysis were done with SPSS version 22; A P-value of < 0.05 was considered to be significant. RESULTS The response rate was 83.89 %; as the Internet addiction scores increased among the students there was increase in prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress in them. The relationships were found to be highly significant (P = 0.000). CONCLUSIONS There was a significant association between Internet use and psychosocial problem among the medical students in JNIMS. The study couldn’t comment on the causality of the depression, anxiety and stress against Internet addiction among the students and internees. Therefore, a further study is recommended for finding out the temporal association. KEYWORDS Internet Addiction, Reliability, Validity and Depression

Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara, Mardin illerini kapsamaktadır. Örneklemini ise belirlenen illerdeki 987 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Çalışma betimsel tarama modeli niteliğindedir. Çalışmada anket (survey) tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan ölçek formu araştırmanın yazarları tarafından geliştirilmiş ve hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS 18.0 yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca analiz kapsamında, betimleyici istatistikler, güvenilirlik analizi, bağımsız örneklem t-testi, Anova analizi ve Faktör analizlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Tüm istatistik analizleri 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde test edilmiştir. Bulgular ve sonuç: Çalışma sonunda internete yönelik eğilim faktörleri, internet çocuk ve eğitim, internetin çocuklar üzerindeki güven duygusu, internet aile ve çevre ve bireysel internet kullanımı ve internet algısı boyutlarının günlük internet kullanımı, cep telefonu kullanımı, internette yapılan aktiviteler, internet için kullanılan cihaz ve internet için kullanılan yöntemden bağımsız olduğu, genel internet kullanımının ise İnternet aile ve çevre boyutu ile Bireysel internet kullanımı ve internet algısı boyutlarından bağımsız olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

O uso de aparelhos eletrônicos por adolescentes é tema de investigação. Este estudoinvestigou a relação entre a dependência em internet e variáveis individuais em 73adolescentes do Ensino Médio em período de pandemia. Os resultados revelaram que 60%da amostra apresentou média dependência de internet (DI) e mais da metade usam acimade cinco horas por dia. Verificou-se correlação significativa entre dependência de internete gasto de tempo durante o intervalo escolar. Ressalta-se a dependência de internet emperíodo de isolamento social dos jovens demonstrando a necessidade de intervenção emnível micro e macrossocial.

Contexte : La simulation en santé est un outil pédagogique incontournable en formation initiale. But : Rapporter notre expérience d’implantation d’un dispositif de type Objective structured assessment of technical skills (OSATS) pour mesurer les habiletés techniques des internes de chirurgie en phase socle de notre faculté, en évaluer les qualités psychométriques préliminaires et recueillir les opinions des internes sur ce dispositif. Méthodes : Un OSATS composé de quatre puis cinq et six stations de 10 minutes chacune a été administré successivement à trois cohortes d’internes. Chaque station avait pour objectif la réalisation d’une habileté technique de base. La performance des candidats était évaluée par un observateur à l’aide d’une grille préétablie. Les moyennes des scores obtenus aux stations et la cohérence interne des scores (coefficient alpha) ont été analysées. Les besoins ressentis des internes, la validité apparente et de contenu de l’examen ont été évalués par questionnaire. Résultats : Soixante-dix neufs internes ont été évalués sur trois ans. Les performances n’étaient pas corrélées au rang aux épreuves classantes nationales [0.13 (IC95% :−0,11 ; +0,36)]. Les indices de cohérence interne se situaient entre 0,61 et 0,87. Les habiletés pour le sondage urinaire masculin et la suture cutanée étaient acquises très tôt. Les internes ont estimé que les gestes proposés à chaque station étaient réalistes. Pour 93% d’entre eux, l’enseignement par la simulation est indispensable à leur formation. Conclusion : L’implantation d’un OSATS est faisable et fournit d’importants renseignements sur les habiletés techniques des internes en chirurgie. Le développement de ce type d’outil renforcerait la place de la simulation dans la formation chirurgicale.

Internet addiction is an important problem especially for the younger generation in today's technology. This study is to investigate internet addiction among vocational students in Çanakkale. Without using the sample selection, 266 students, who were at school at the time of the study and agreed to participate in the study, were included in the study. The data were collected by using the Form of Socio-Demographic Characteristics and Internet Addiction Test. 68.8% of the students connected to the internet via their mobile phones. 69.6% of them use the internet every day. Örneklem seçimine gidilmeden, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 266 öğrenci çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında sosyo-demografik özellikler formu ve internet bağımlılık ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin %68,8’i internete cep telefonlarından bağlanmaktadırlar. Öğrencilerin %69,6'sının interneti her gün kullandığı görülmektedir. Günde ortalama 8,2±7,2 saat internet kullanmaktadırlar. Öğrencilerin %54,5'inin normal internet kullanıcısı, %42.1'inin riskli internet kullanıcısı, %3.4 ünün ise bağımlı internet kullanıcısı olduğu saptanmıştır.

Abstract Objective: Internet and online technologies as well as present opportunities that make easy the life, they could bring some negativity. This study was conducted to determine using internet statutes of university students at a Health College and stress levels that they perceived, as descriptive. Method: The study was conducted with 296 students in 2013-2014 education session by taking consent from the institute and students. Data was collected by Individual Information From and Perceived Stress Scale. Results: It is determined that of the students; 37.3% spent time with internet 4 hours and more daily, and of these students; 70.3% had got stress as moderate level, with increase in staying time at internet environment, moderate and high level stress increased (p<0.05). Also, academic success level decreased with increase in staying time at internet but there wasn’t any significant difference between them (p>0.05). Conclusion: It is seen that staying time at internet could affect the perceived stress level. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin %37.3’ünün, günlük 4 saat ve daha fazla süreyle internete bağlandığı, günlük 4 saat ve daha fazla süreyle internete bağlı kalan öğrencilerin %70.3’ünün orta stres düzeyinde olduğu, internette kalma süresi arttıkça öğrencilerin orta ve yüksek stres düzeyi oranlarında artış olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0.05). Ayrıca öğrencilerin internette kalma süreleri arttıkça akademik başarı oranlarının düştüğü ancak farkın önemli olmadığı bulunmuştur (p>0.05). Sonuç:İnternette kalma süresinin algılanan stres düzeyini etkileyebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilere; internet ve online teknolojileri daha bilinçli kullanma ve stresle etkin başedebilme yollarıyla ilgili eğitim ve danışmanlık verilmesi önerilmektedir.// // Annotate Highlight

Abstract (sommario):

Soziale Interaktionen sind vielschichtig und stellen häufige Auslöser für positive aber auch negative Emotionen im Alltag dar. Viele Psychopathologien sind zudem von gestörter Sozialinteraktion gekennzeichnet. Laborexperimentelle Ansätze, welche neurowissenschaftliche Untersuchungen ermöglichen, verwenden häufig Bilder von emotionalen Gesichtern, die präzise Präsentationsbedingungen ermöglichen und die interne Validität solcher Experimente maximieren. Allerdings wird dadurch die Reichhaltigkeit sozialer Interaktion und damit auch die externe Validität reduziert. In der vorliegenden Studie wird ein Kompromiss zwischen interner und externer Validität bei der Untersuchung sozialer Interaktion gesucht. Wir stellen das Video-Set «E.Vids» vor, in dem zehn Darsteller jeweils acht kurze, auf den Betrachter bezogene positive und negative sowie neutrale Aussagen machen (240 Videos). In einer Internet-basierten Validierungsstudie (N = 310) wurden die Videos sowohl auf dimensionalen (Valenz, Arousal) als auch auf diskreten Emotionskategorien untersucht. Es zeigte sich eine klare Unterscheidung der Aussagekategorien in Bezug auf Valenz und Arousal. Spezifisch wurden sozialrelevante emotionsbezogene Zustände wie Stolz, Anerkennung, Ablehnung und Peinlichkeit sowie Grundemotionen wie Ärger und Freude ausgelöst. Eine EEG-Studie (N = 23) zeigte negativere rechts-frontotemporale langsame Potentiale für die negativen Sätze im Vergleich zu neutralen Sätzen. E.Vids könnte die verhaltensbasierte und neurowissenschaftliche Erforschung sozialer Interaktion im deutschsprachigen Raum bereichern und zur Untersuchung sozialrelevanter emotionaler Defizite bei verschiedenen psychischen Störungen beitragen.

Access to the internet is fast becoming a basic right given the plethora of information available on the net these days. In the current scenario, the issue of internet shutdown has become an important concern in India. Internet shutdown affects people socially, psychologically and economically. On one hand, many democratic countries of the world are discussing about digital freedom and human rights, while on the other hand, some countries including India are continuously practicing Internet shutdowns in different parts of their countries. India has become the top country of the world in terms of the numbers of Internet shutdowns. The Internet has become such a prominent source of information for all of us that when Internet connectivity is suspended, many people are affected as they depend on the Internet services for various purposes. Internet shutdown is not only harmful to democracy and governance but also to the economy of the country. Internet shutdowns are direct violations of digital freedom and human rights. The main objective of this paper is to argue that access to internet is a basic right and highlight the problem of Internet shutdown in India and its adverse impact on the lives of Indians. In addition, this paper attempts to highlight a brief history of Internet shutdowns in India. The paper shows how frequent clampdowns on internet affects the economy, as has been the case of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir thereby highlighting the case for internet freedom for the survival of the economy especially in Digital India.
