Abstract (sommario):
The mobile game industry has been growing rapidly in both the number of games and revenues. Choosing the right interactions for a game has become a major challenge for developers. Some developers use inappropriate interactions in their games which causes them to be less fun than they should be. This research focuses on gathering and defining possible mobile game interactions so as to guide and enable designers and developers to choose the right interactions for their games. The researchers have extensively reviewed and explored various mobile game interactions both through research studies and through existing mobile games. Subsequent to observations, mobile game interactions were then categorized as follows: 1) Touch interaction 2) Motion/Movement interaction 3) Video interaction 4) Sound interaction 5) Special purpose interaction 6) Location interaction 7) Electroencep-halography (EEG) interaction 8) Date/Time interaction 9) Weather interaction 10) Light interaction 11) Proximity interaction 12) Network interaction 13) Social interaction and 14) Bioinformatics interaction. These 14 interactions can be used to support gameplay, ideas, and innovation of mobile games.

Abstract (sommario):
The uniform distribution of colours as additives in a majority of the food systems is a reliable indication that one or more components of foods are able to bind with colour molecules and act as their carriers. However, the food components acting as the colour carriers have not been identified. The present paper describes the binding capacity of Carmoisine with a variety of food proteins, our results have shown that the intensity, staining, and sharpness of the stained protein bands were excellent as compared to Coomassie Brilliant Blue-R-250, which is an established staining agent for visualising electrophoretically resolved proteins. The data illustrates that Carmoisine is a fast reacting dye forming colour-complexes with all types of food proteins including curry leaves proteins. The protein bands are visualised within an hour which is useful for the initial immediate protein identifications. The experiments related to the staining of the resolved proteins with Carmoisine have shown that the dye is highly sensitive, rapid, and lasting. The food-dye can provide a quick protein assay as often desired in research works, the results may be later confirmed by using Coomassie if so required. In view of its strong binding with almost all proteins, it was thought that human proteases present in the digestive tract may not hydrolyse the bound proteins completely and may restrict the proteolytic digestion. However, the experiments based on the tryptic digestibility in vitro revealed that colour binding has no adverse effect on hydrolysis of peptide bonds by the intestinal proteases.

Abstract (sommario):
Interactions between multiple ecosystem stressors are expected to jeopardize biological processes, functions and biodiversity. The scientific community has declared stressor interactions—notably synergies—a key issue for conservation and management. Here, we review ecological literature over the past four decades to evaluate trends in the reporting of ecological interactions (synergies, antagonisms and additive effects) and highlight the implications and importance to conservation. Despite increasing popularity, and ever-finer terminologies, we find that synergies are (still) not the most prevalent type of interaction, and that conservation practitioners need to appreciate and manage for all interaction outcomes, including antagonistic and additive effects. However, it will not be possible to identify the effect of every interaction on every organism's physiology and every ecosystem function because the number of stressors, and their potential interactions, are growing rapidly. Predicting the type of interactions may be possible in the near-future, using meta-analyses, conservation-oriented experiments and adaptive monitoring. Pending a general framework for predicting interactions, conservation management should enact interventions that are robust to uncertainty in interaction type and that continue to bolster biological resilience in a stressful world.

Abstract (sommario):
Smart technologies are rapidly transforming frontline employee-customer interactions. However, little academic research has tackled urgent, relevant questions regarding such technology-empowered frontline interactions. The current study conceptualizes (1) smart technology use in frontline employee-customer interactions, (2) smart technology–mediated learning mechanisms that elevate service effectiveness and efficiency performance to empower frontline interactions, and (3) stakeholder interaction goals as antecedents of smart technology–mediated learning. We propose that emerging smart technologies, which can substitute for or complement frontline employees’ (FLEs) efforts to deliver customized service over time, may help resolve the long-standing tension between service efficiency and effectiveness because they can learn or enable learning from and across customers, FLEs, and interactions. Drawing from pragmatic and deliberate learning theories, the authors conceptualize stakeholder learning mechanisms that mediate the effects of frontline interaction goals on FLEs’ and customers’ effectiveness and efficiency outcomes. This study concludes with implications for research and practice.

Abstract (sommario):
Deforestation transforms habitats, displacing vertebrates and the other dimensions of biodiversity they support through their interactions. Few empirical studies have quantified the effect deforestation has on vertebrate–pollinator interaction networks. Here we quantify how hummingbird–plant networks change in relation to hummingbird diversity across a deforestation gradient. We found that, overall, hummingbird–plant interactions were significantly more specialized in forests and specialized interactions decayed rapidly with the loss of tree cover at small spatial scales. Hummingbird species interaction specialization was also higher in forest habitats compared to coffee plantations, but we found no support for a morphological hummingbird trait that predicted interaction specialization or forest dependence. Finally, we developed spatially explicit models for quantifying impacts of land-use decisions on hummingbird species and the biodiversity they support. These tools can be used to identify and prioritize important habitats for conservation activities, like creating new protected areas and improving agricultural lands for biodiversity.

Abstract (sommario):
With new technologies rapidly developing and the growing relevance of communicative competence in language education, Virtual Exchanges (VEs) are receiving increased attention in research within the framework of the Interaction Hypothesis. One of the intrinsic elements of interaction is Negotiation of Meaning (NoM), a process in which students attempt to solve communicative issues. Nevertheless, few studies have scrutinised how students solve these breakdowns in VE interaction. The purpose of this paper is to identify the most employed resolution strategies in three online audio-visual interactions. The participants are university students from Japan and Spain who carried out one-hour Zoom interactions. Methodology-wise, Clavel-Arroitia’s categorisation was adapted to the purposes of this study in order to identify the strategies in the corpus. The results illustrate how certain factors (language proficiency, cultural background, and communicative dynamics, among others) condition the strategies employed, emphasising the complexity of foreign language learners’ interaction.

Abstract (sommario):
Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is a powerful technique for monitoring the affinity and selectivity of biomolecular interactions. SPR allows for analysis of association and dissociation rate constants and modeling of biomolecular interaction kinetics, as well as for equilibrium binding analysis and ligand specificity studies. SPR has received much use and improved precision in classifying protein–protein interactions, as well as in studying small-molecule ligand binding to receptors; however, lipid–protein interactions have been underserved in this regard. With the field of lipids perhaps the next frontier in cellular research, SPR is a highly advantageous technique for cell biologists, as newly identified proteins that associate with cellular membranes can be screened rapidly and robustly for lipid specificity and membrane affinity. This technical perspective discusses the conditions needed to achieve success with lipid–protein interactions and highlights the unique lipid–protein interaction mechanisms that have been elucidated using SPR. It is intended to provide the reader a framework for quantitative and confident conclusions from SPR analysis of lipid–protein interactions.

Abstract (sommario):
During mRNA transcription, diverse RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are recruited to RNA polymerase II (RNAP II) transcription machinery. These RBPs bind to distinct sites of nascent RNA to co-transcriptionally operate mRNA processing. Recent studies have revealed a close relationship between transcription and co-transcriptional RNA processing, where one affects the other’s activity, indicating an essential role of protein–RNA interactions for the fine-tuning of mRNA production. Owing to their limited amount in cells, the detection of protein–RNA interactions specifically assembled on the transcribing RNAP II machinery still remains challenging. Currently, cross-linking and immunoprecipitation (CLIP) has become a standard method to detect in vivo protein–RNA interactions, although it requires a large amount of input materials. Several improved methods, such as infrared-CLIP (irCLIP), enhanced CLIP (eCLIP), and target RNA immunoprecipitation (tRIP), have shown remarkable enhancements in the detection efficiency. Furthermore, the utilization of an RNA editing mechanism or proximity labeling strategy has achieved the detection of faint protein–RNA interactions in cells without depending on crosslinking. This review aims to explore various methods being developed to detect endogenous protein–RNA interaction sites and discusses how they may be applied to the analysis of co-transcriptional RNA processing.

Abstract (sommario):
Most viruses have small genomes that encode proteins needed to perform essential enzymatic functions. Across virus families, primary enzyme functions are under functional constraint; however, secondary functions mediated by exposed protein surfaces that promote interactions with the host proteins may be less constrained. Viruses often form transient interactions with host proteins through conformationally flexible interfaces. Exposed flexible amino acid residues are known to evolve rapidly suggesting that secondary functions may generate diverse interaction potentials between viruses within the same viral family. One mechanism of interaction is viral mimicry through short linear motifs (SLiMs) that act as functional signatures in host proteins. Viral SLiMs display specific patterns of adjacent amino acids that resemble their host SLiMs and may occur by chance numerous times in viral proteins due to mutational and selective processes. Through mimicry of SLiMs in the host cell proteome, viruses can interfere with the protein interaction network of the host and utilize the host-cell machinery to their benefit. The overlap between rapidly evolving protein regions and the location of functionally critical SLiMs suggest that these motifs and their functional potential may be rapidly rewired causing variation in pathogenicity, infectivity, and virulence of related viruses. The following review provides an overview of known viral SLiMs with select examples of their role in the life cycle of a virus, and a discussion of the structural properties of experimentally validated SLiMs highlighting that a large portion of known viral SLiMs are devoid of predicted intrinsic disorder based on the viral SLiMs from the ELM database.

Abstract (sommario):
Dynamic observation of dislocation generation and/or motion in the transmission electron microscope is possible for a variety of experimental conditions. In situ straining and heating experiments are traditional methods for observing dislocation interactions caused by deformation, phase transformations, and large differences in thermal expansion coefficients (e.g. metal matrix composites). In addition to external stimuli, the electron beam can also influence defect formation and movement. High voltage electron irradiation has become a standard technique to simulate radiation damage, and for the special case of CdTe, electron beam induced heating has been used to record movement of partial dislocations at lattice resolution. In the current study, the interaction of 200 kV electrons with Ce rich precipitates has been observed to induce dislocation generation and movement in Ti-4wt%Ce alloys. The microstructural condition required for this observation has only been achieved by rapid solidification of an undercooled liquid.

Abstract (sommario):
Using the depths of shower maxima, as measured by Fly's Eye experiment,we study the energy dissipation of hadronic showers resulting from cosmic interactions at energies between 3×1017 eV and 1019 eV. We place, based on Fly's Eye data, a set of constraints on the expected depths of shower maxima for proton-initiated showers, disentangling the hadronic interaction features from the cosmic ray composition. It is shown that in the energy region substantially above collider energies, only Monte Carlo simulations using hadronic interaction models characterized by a strong energy dissipation predict the depths of shower maxima that are consistent with this set of constraints. Between the two equally good fitsof the energy dependences of cross-section and multiplicity at collider energies — the power law and log-square law, we find that the cosmic ray data favor the power law above collider energies. The Feynman scaling in the fragmentation region above collider energies is valid only if the cross-section for inelastic hadron–air–nucleus interactions increases much more rapidly than the trend established at accelerator energies. The multiple nucleon interaction picture appears to be plausible for hadron–nucleus interactions.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Advances in DNA sequencing and proteomics mean that researchers must now regularly interrogate thousands of positional gene/protein changes in order to find those relevant for potential clinical application or biological insights. The abundance of already known information on protein interactions, mechanism, and tertiary structure provides the possible means to understand these changes rapidly, though a careful and systematic integration of these diverse datasets is first needed. For this purpose, we developed Mechnetor, a tool that allows users to quickly explore and visualize integrated mechanistic data for proteins or interactions of interest. Central to the system is a careful cataloguing of diverse sources of protein interaction mechanism, and an efficient means to visualize interactions between relevant and/or known protein regions. The result is a finer resolution interaction network that provides more immediate clues as to points of intervention or mechanistic understanding. Users can import protein, interactions, genetic variants or post-translational modifications and see these data in the best known mechanistic context. We demonstrate the tool with topical examples in human genetic diseases and cancer genomics. The tool is freely available at: mechnetor.russelllab.org.

Abstract (sommario):
Activities in the digital economy driven by information technology have rapidly increased in scope and speed in the aftermath of COVID-19. Meanwhile, social isolation accelerated by quarantine measures has increased concerns about individuals’ mental health. However, little is known about the specific consequences of online interactions, especially when applied in online fan community-based relationships. Therefore, we examined the impact of loneliness in the context of COVID-19 on online interaction with other fans and parasocial relationships with celebrities on the Weverse platform. We also examined how these interactions influence mental well-being and the sense of virtual community. With 202 valid data samples acquired from global BTS fandom, this study conducted a partial least squares–structural equation modeling analysis. The empirical results demonstrate a significant positive relationship between loneliness and the extent of online interaction, while no significant impact on parasocial relationships was observed. Both online interaction and parasocial relationships were found to enhance both well-being and SOVC. However, these results were observed to differ between Weverse paid subscribers and free users.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractRapidly rotating stars are readily produced in binary systems. An accreting star in a binary system can be spun up by mass accretion and quickly approach the break-up limit. Mergers between two stars in a binary are expected to result in massive, fast rotating stars. These rapid rotators may appear as Be or Oe stars or at low metallicity they may be progenitors of long gamma-ray bursts.Given the high frequency of massive stars in close binaries it seems likely that a large fraction of rapidly rotating stars result from binary interaction. It is not straightforward to distinguish a a fast rotator that was born as a rapidly rotating single star from a fast rotator that resulted from some kind of binary interaction. Rapidly rotating stars resulting from binary interaction will often appear to be single because the companion tends to be a low mass, low luminosity star in a wide orbit. Alternatively, they became single stars after a merger or disruption of the binary system during the supernova explosion of the primary. The absence of evidence for a companion does not guarantee that the system did not experience binary interaction in the past. If binary interaction is one of the main causes of high stellar rotation rates, the binary fraction is expected to be smaller among fast rotators. How this prediction depend on uncertainties in the physics of the binary interactions requires further investigation.

Abstract (sommario):
High-throughput affinity-based technologies are rapidly growing in use as primary screening methods in drug discovery. In this review, their principles and applications are described and their impact on small-molecule drug discovery is evaluated. In general, these technologies can be divided into 2 groups: those that detect binding interactions by measuring changes to the protein target and those that detect bound compounds. Technologies detecting binding interactions by focusing on the protein have limited throughput but can reveal mechanistic information about the binding interaction; technologies detecting bound compounds have very high throughput, some even significantly higher than current high-throughput screening technologies, but offer limited information about the binding interaction. In addition, the appropriate use of affinity-based technologies is discussed. Finally, nanotechnology is predicted to generate a significant impact on the future of affinity-based technologies. There is a rapidly increasing range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems available for children who cannot communicate orally. Finding the best system for any one user is a challenge for the professionals and carers involved. As yet the use of portable, tablet forms of communication aid has been little researched, despite the rapid growth in their popularity. This article seeks to establish how a tablet form of AAC is exploited in day-to-day domestic interactions between a parent and a child where the child has a severe physical disability and complex communication needs. The study utilises conversation analysis (CA) as the methodology and looks in detail at sequential components of the interaction and the salience of certain interactional moves to both adult and child participants. The mother chose when and where the iPad or other forms of AAC were utilised within the day. Extracts were selected from the available data to exemplify the types of typical exchange that occurred and some key features of the iPad enhanced interaction. The analysis describes how turns are designed incorporating the iPad and discusses what is added to the communication toolkit. Asymmetries in this mother–child interaction are observed and discussed. The child typically remains a respondent to initiations by the caregiver, who in this scenario necessarily remains in control of the iPad symbol display. However, the child uses eye-gaze strategies to indicate interests that lie both within and external to those on offer on the iPad. The article reflects on the child’s agency in initiating a possible novel topic in this way.

AbstractWe study effects of the strange quark mass,ms, and of the QCD interactions, calculated to lowest order inαc, on the rapid rotation of strange stars (SS). The influence of rotation on global parameters of SS is greater than in the case of the neutron stars (NS). We show that independently ofmsandαcthe ratio of the rotational kinetic energy to the absolute value of the gravitational potential energyT/Wfor a rotating SS is significantly higher than for an ordinary NS. This might indicate that rapidly rotating SS could be important sources of gravitational waves.

Abstract (sommario):
The development of tourism in Bali with strong socio-cultural influences has inspired Balinese writers to create literary works about the interaction between Balinese people (hosts) and tourists (guests), both in Indonesian and Balinese language. This study examines how Balinese authors maintain Balinese identity in host-guest interactions featured in short stories by Balinese writers. The main object of research is the anthology of Balinese short stories Mekel Paris (Madame Paris, 2012) by IBW Keniten because all short stories in this anthology contain stories of interactions between Balinese and foreigners. Data from the short stories and interviews with authors were analyzed qualitatively using a tourism literary approach, an approach that uses anthropological tourism theory of host-guest contact introduced by Valene Smith. The results showed that there are various forms of host-guest interaction expressed in the Mekel Paris anthology, namely harmonious, conflict, mutualistic, and transactional interactions. Although there are various forms of interaction, all of them have one goal, which is to convey the message so that the Balinese people are not carried away by foreign influences, but are firm in maintaining Balinese identity. In addition to enriching the discussion on how Balinese people maintain their identity, this article also contributes to the development of the study of tourism literature that is growing rapidly in Indonesia.

Abstract (sommario):
Optical field ionization is the earliest and fastest plasma-generating process during the interaction of intense laser light with matter. By using short and rapidly rising laser pulses, the free electron density may turn from being transparent for an incoming laser pulse to reflective in less than half a laser cycle, that is, on a subfemtosecond timescale. Extremely nonlinear optical effects arise as a consequence of this. In this article, the basics of optical field ionization that are relevant in analytical or numerical studies of intense laser–matter interactions are reviewed. Several macroscopic effects of field ionization in the interaction of intense laser pulses with solid targets are briefly surveyed.

Abstract (sommario):
The interactions between poly(vinyl alcohol) and the surfactant sodium dodecyl sulphate in aqueous solutions have been investigated by means of static and dynamic fluorescence measurements. By static fluorescence measurements the onset of interaction, the critical aggregation concentration, is determined to be 6.5 mM at 20 °C and 7.0 mM at 40 °C. By dynamic fluorescence measurements without added quencher the influence on the lifetime of the fluorescent probe, pyrene, by the presence of the polymer is investigated. From measurements with an added quencher, dimethylbenzophenone, the surfactant aggregation numbers of the micellar aggregates formed upon interaction between the surfactant and the polymer and the quenching rate constant are obtained. At the two polymer concentrations, i.e., 0.2% and 2.0%, the surfactant aggregation numbers at low surfactant concentration are very small, but increase rapidly with increasing surfactant concentration. Comparisons are made with results from a system where poly(ethylene oxide) instead of poly(vinyl alcohol) is the polymer. Key words: dynamic fluorescence quenching, polymer–surfactant interactions, aggregation numbers.

Abstract (sommario):
Communication technology develops so rapidly that it changes the forms of interaction between people. Digital interaction that brings humans together in a virtual world seems to replace face-to-face interaction that has been a human habit since ancient times. However, digital interaction through media turns out to have many shortcomings and reduce the values that characterize a society. Even so, innovation in communication technology cannot be stopped, and now there is a metaverse. A digital platform that allows man to interact in the virtual world three-dimensional. Although this technology cannot be accessed and enjoyed by all levels of society, it is possible that in the next few decades social interactions in the metaverse will dominate interactions among people. Before that happens, in-depth analysis of all sectors is needed so that humans are not immersed in a virtual world that can actually threaten their existence. This research is a phenomenological research using a philosophical perspective that focuses on the possible use of the metaverse in education. In this study, it was concluded that the use of the metaverse is currently considered unnecessary because there is no urgent reason for the use of this technology, while face-to-face learning is still the best learning method, at least until today.

Abstract (sommario):
The relationship between urban greenspaces and the benefits to psychological, social, and physical aspects of human wellbeing are important to study, particularly in rapidly urbanizing areas and underrepresented communities. This interaction was theorized, analyzed, and measured in this paper through the transactional paradigm and operationalized through the use of a volunteer geographic information questionnaire, SoftGIS, which activated the urban greenspace–human wellbeing interaction through its map-based data collection. Over 450 unique place-based relationships were statistically analyzed within the Greater Glasgow Urban Region of Paisley, Scotland, a vulnerable community. This study revealed that multiple components of human wellbeing are supported through interactions with urban greenspaces. The Paisley region’s respondents visited greenspaces, generally, and most often to receive psychological benefits such as reduction of stress and mental relaxation through interactions which included sitting and relaxing in quiet spaces, enjoying natural surroundings, and viewing nature and wildlife. The physical and social wellbeing benefits were not as frequent in these urban greenspace interactions but were distinctly present. The results imply pathways towards management and multifunctional greenspace design responses in urbanizing regions and indicate strategies for public policy, human health, and urban planning, which deliver wellbeing benefits to communities.

Abstract (sommario):
BackgroundInherited neuropathies are genetic conditions affecting the peripheral motor and sensory nerves. The number of causative genes are continuing to expand. As more genes are being discovered, more phenotypes are attributed. Despite our rapidly growing knowledge, inherited neuropathies remain incurable diseases. With the wealth of information now available, bioinformatic platforms are available to visualise functional enrichment of genes and gene-phenotype annotations to enhance our understanding of the mechanism of disease and support hypothesis-driven research.MethodsThe interactors of inherited neuropathy genes were explored using the Search Tool for Recurring Incidences of Neighbouring Genes (STRING) database. Drug-phenotype interactions were assessed using PhenogramViz, human phenotype ontology terms (HPO). We used the Drug Gene Interaction Database (DGIdb) to find drug-gene interactions then used DoGSiteScorer to view potential drug binding pockets.ResultsInherited neuropathy genes were associated with gene ontology terms related to axonal transport. A total of 380 HPO terms were annotated to the genes which shared a phenotypic spectrum with neurodegenerative disorders. We identified 221 drug-gene interactions.ConclusionBioinformatic platforms are available to rapidly visualise and explore large gene-sets. Platforms to annotate drug-gene interactions need to be developed to assist drug discovery and identify potential agents that can be repurposed.

Abstract (sommario):
Nucleocytoplasmic transport is mediated by the interaction of transport factors (TFs) with disordered phenylalanine-glycine (FG) repeats that fill the central channel of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). However, the mechanism by which TFs rapidly diffuse through multiple FG repeats without compromising NPC selectivity is not yet fully understood. In this study, we build on our recent NMR investigations showing that FG repeats are highly dynamic, flexible, and rapidly exchanging among TF interaction sites. We use unbiased long timescale all-atom simulations on the Anton supercomputer, combined with extensive enhanced sampling simulations and NMR experiments, to characterize the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of FG repeats and their interaction with a model transport factor. Both the simulations and experimental data indicate that FG repeats are highly dynamic random coils, lack intrachain interactions, and exhibit significant entropically driven resistance to spatial confinement. We show that the FG motifs reversibly slide in and out of multiple TF interaction sites, transitioning rapidly between a strongly interacting state and a weakly interacting state, rather than undergoing a much slower transition between strongly interacting and completely noninteracting (unbound) states. In the weakly interacting state, FG motifs can be more easily displaced by other competing FG motifs, providing a simple mechanism for rapid exchange of TF/FG motif contacts during transport. This slide-and-exchange mechanism highlights the direct role of the disorder within FG repeats in nucleocytoplasmic transport, and resolves the apparent conflict between the selectivity and speed of transport.

Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT We use SDSS-DR14 to construct a sample of galaxy systems consisting of a central object and two satellites. We adopt projected distance and radial velocity difference criteria and impose an isolation criterion to avoid membership in larger structures. We also classify the interaction between the members of each system through a visual inspection of galaxy images, finding ${\sim}80{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ of the systems lack evidence of interactions whilst the remaining ${\sim}20{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ involve some kind of interaction, as inferred from their observed distorted morphology. We have considered separately, samples of satellites and central galaxies, and each of these samples were tested against suitable control sets to analyse the results. We find that central galaxies showing signs of interactions present evidence of enhanced star formation activity and younger stellar populations. As a counterpart, satellite samples show these galaxies presenting older stellar populations with a lower star formation rate than the control sample. The observed trends correlate with the stellar mass content of the galaxies and with the projected distance between the members involved in the interaction. The most massive systems are less affected since they show no star formation excess, possibly due to their more evolved stage and less gas available to form new stars. Our results suggest that it is arguably a transfer of material during interactions, with satellites acting as donors to the central galaxy. As a consequence of the interactions, satellite stellar population ages rapidly and new bursts of star formation may frequently occur in the central galaxy.

Abstract (sommario):
The article analyses the methodological aspects of the relationship between the West and Islam as well as between supporters and opponents of globalisation. It presumes that the processes taking place in the collective unconscious play an important role in cultural interactions and conflict. If the lives of individuals are shaped by their conscious efforts or the specifics of the individual unconscious, the evolution of nations, cultures and civilisations is influenced and frequently determined by certain autonomous mental combinations contained in the collective unconscious (i.e. collective complexes). Sometimes these complexes coexist amicably, supplement or support each other. Sometimes a vicious conflict between them or fight to the death occurs. Social or political conflict is the reflection or, more specifically, the result of such conflict. In the article, the conflict between the West and Islam is treated as a conflict between traditional and modern cultures. In the view of modern cultural apologists, traditional cultures are intolerant and backward while modern Western culture is being degraded. The existing differences between these cultures have mainly been determined by the historical and psychological features of their formation. In Islamic religion and culture, the fundamental structures of the unconscious were shaped by faith while in modern Western culture the main contributor was the reason. Other important aspects of the expression of the collective unconscious are the complexes of globalisation and nationalism. In some European countries, a rapidly consolidating globalisation complex superseded or replaced the specific national structures of the unconscious and their residents tend to happily accept European integration or, at least, obediently acquiesce to it. The situation in Lithuania is different. Firstly, the spirit of resistance nurtured over hundreds of years and hardened in labour camps and in exile over the decades is still very much alive. Secondly, the Lithuanian national complex will disappear before it has fully formed. And this is where the zest, passion and even fierceness of people influenced by it stems from.

Abstract (sommario):
This study describes two complementary methods that use network-based and sequence similarity tools to identify drug repurposing opportunities predicted to modulate viral proteins. This approach could be rapidly adapted to new and emerging viruses. The first method built and studied a virus–host–physical interaction network; a three-layer multimodal network of drug target proteins, human protein–protein interactions, and viral–host protein–protein interactions. The second method evaluated sequence similarity between viral proteins and other proteins, visualized by constructing a virus–host–similarity interaction network. Methods were validated on the human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and human papillomavirus, then deployed on SARS-CoV-2. Comparison of virus–host–physical interaction predictions to known antiviral drugs had AUCs of 0.69, 0.59, 0.78, and 0.67, respectively, reflecting that the scores are predictive of effective drugs. For SARS-CoV-2, 569 candidate drugs were predicted, of which 37 had been included in clinical trials for SARS-CoV-2 (AUC = 0.75, P-value 3.21 × 10−3). As further validation, top-ranked candidate antiviral drugs were analyzed for binding to protein targets in silico; binding scores generated by BindScope indicated a 70% success rate.

Abstract (sommario):
Social media platforms have rapidly gained popularity due to features such as personalized recommendations and real-time push notifications, attracting a large number of creators to produce content. However, with the explosive growth of content and information overload, readers’ expectations for content and interaction quality have increased, making it increasingly difficult to engage them deeply. This poses management challenges to the platform’s ecosystem, such as high visitor volume but low retention rates. This study, leveraging the latest GPT technology, provides a more scientific approach to content metrics and a detailed exploration of interaction categories to examine the impact of information, authors, and interactions on reader engagement behavior. It particularly considers the effects of internal and external layers of social-generated content and different levels of reader engagement. Combining real community data, it is found that the impact of content information is the most crucial, with this impact being distributed across content and interaction aspects. It is suggested that social media platforms should strive to balance vivacity and informativeness when producing content. Additionally, the role of content, authors, and interactions varies across different product categories, so differentiated strategies should be employed accordingly.

Abstract (sommario):
With robotics rapidly advancing, more effective human-robot interaction is increasingly needed to realize the full potential of robots for society. While spoken language must be part of the solution, our ability to provide spoken language interaction capabilities is still limited. Voice communication with robots has the potential to greatly improve human-robot interactions and enable a wide range of new applications. However, there are still many challenges that need to be overcome in order to fully realize this potential, and further research and development is needed in areas such as noise reduction and dialogue management. This paper explores the current state of the technology, including the challenges and limitations that still need to be overcome.

Abstract (sommario):
The numerical investigations of interactions between a flame bubble with an incident shock wave (IW) and its focusing wave (FW) in a reactive CH4—O2—N2 mixture are presented. The time-dependent, two-dimensional axisymmetric, reactive Navier—Stokes equations, with detailed chemical mechanisms, are employed to simulate the multiple shock—flame interactions process. The effects of the IW Mach number and chemical reactivity of mixture on flame structure and evolution are examined. The results of simulations show that the initial flame bubble can interact with IW, bow wave (BW), reflected BW, and FW in sequence. For the weak IW case, the repeated shock—flame interactions produce multiple Richtmyer—Meshkov (RM) instabilities that lead to the convolved flame with vortex structures, and the chemical heat release does not play a major role. While for the strong IW case, the multiple RM instabilities lead to the highly distorted flame with the complex vortices structures of large magnitude. With the lower reactive mixture, the instability process is the major mechanism for shock—flame interaction, while the chemistry only plays a minor role. However, with the higher reactive mixture, the distorted flame expands rapidly and finally forms the large-scale combustion through the interaction with FW. Both instability and chemical heat release play the important mechanisms in this case. The combustion acceleration in the highly reactive mixture can produce the stronger overpressure and the higher propagation speed of complex FW because of the chemi-acoustic interaction effect.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In this work, we report the discovery of the rapidly evolving high-amplitude δ Scuti star KIC 6382916 (J19480292+4146558), which is crossing the Hertzsprung gap. According to the analysis of the archival data, we find three independent pulsation modes, whose amplitudes and frequencies vary distinctly in 4 yr. The linear period variation rates of the first two modes are about 3–4 times larger than the best seismic model constructed by the standard evolution theory, while that of the third one is about 8 times larger than the first two modes. What is more interesting is that almost all the combinations of the third mode have frequency peaks 0.0815 c day−1 away from them in the frequency domain. A framework is proposed to interpret the markedly large frequency and amplitude variation rates of the third mode, in which we employ a new pulsation mode (resonating integration mode) generated by the resonance between a radial p-mode and a nonradial mixed mode. Moreover, global analysis of the interactions between the three independent pulsation modes and their harmonics/combinations is performed based on the interaction diagrams of their amplitudes and phases, which would be a useful tool for future asteroseismology research.
