L’objet de la recherche est d’analyser, au cours des interactions lors d’audiences pénales en matière de violences intrafamiliales, la mobilisation de catégories genrées, structurant le raisonnement juridique et la prise de décision. Les parties à l’audience fournissent en effet des comptes rendus sélectifs des faits afin de les faire correspondre à une catégorie juridique abstraite, voire à une peine. La mobilisation des catégories genrées intervient dans la négociation de la narration de ces faits, de manière à les adosser à la norme pénale pertinente. Ces catégories fonctionnent de manière binaire et antagoniste. L’obligation pour les justiciables et leurs représentant·es légaux·ales de se positionner vis-à-vis de ces catégories – de s’en défendre ou d’y répondre – contribue à la (re)production de catégories genrées stéréotypées au cours de l’audience pénale. À travers l’analyse de deux cas d’étude, cette recherche est donc une contribution empirique à une analyse féministe du droit.

"Some peculiarities of genre interaction are considered (based on the symphonic creativity of a modern Ukrainian composer – Yevhen Petrychenko). It was found out that the symphony genre is open to various interactions, resulting in complex genre hybrids that allow the symphony to realize all its potential and extend the “life” of the genre. It has been proved that the awareness of the peculiarities of the genre hybrid is possible only at the level of seperate works and is situational. Two types of interactions that characterize genre hybrids are identified. This is an equal combination of genres, which is reflected in the genre name and the superiority of one genre with the scattered manifestation of the characteristics of other genres. It was revealed that Symphony No.1 “Requiem” by Petrychenko demonstrates the first type of genre interaction, because it combines genre features of symphony, suite, requiem and quartet, in which the dominant genre role is played by symphony, features of other genres are sporadic and subordinate to laws of symphony genre. The first chamber symphony also belongs to the first type of genre interaction, but shows minimal influence of other genres, due to the complexity of the chamber symphony genre. At the same time, in the Symphony “Antitheses” the genres of symphony, cantata and vocal cycle interact, which is reflected in the genre denotation (vocal symphony), principles of development, form and drama of the work. The prospects of research of genre hybrid forms open ways to the comprehension of features of modern academic music. This article analyzes a rhetorical genre ecology emerging in the aftermath of a natural disaster in Ghana. Drawing on news articles and opinion pieces, a presidential speech, a government post-disaster assessment summary, and a World Bank Group action report, I argue that in their operation within the contingent environment of public spheres, genre uptakes may be highly unpredictable, but also serve multiple, varied functions that together respond to the multiplicity of exigences presented by the diffused contexts of publics. The analysis explains how diffused contexts of genre interaction shape social action, and how these interactions, in turn, enact publics.

In the development process and social movements, the literary genres do not exist independently but have interaction with each other. Novels are capable of performing genres interaction because “the novel allows to put into it many different genres, including artistic genres (short stories, lyric poems, epics, speech plays...) and non-artistic genres (literature in daily life, rhetoric, science, religion...)”[1]. Novels with traditional writing style about contemporary Vietnamese history (prominent writers such as Nguyen Xuan Khanh, Vo Thi Hao, Nguyen Mong Giac...), the interaction among literary genres is considered as the most common form. Typical forms of genre interaction in novels with historical themes are the interaction between short stories and novels, poetry and novels... Genre interaction expresses the writer’s sense of creativity and experience in the innovation requirement of literary life practice.

The study of interactive features of language has been a very productive source of insights into written discourse in recent years, revealing the ways that writers engage with readers to successfully persuade them of a particular viewpoint in a range of different genres and contexts. While a variety of approaches have illuminated our understanding of these features, the concept of interactional metadiscourse has been particularly valuable in revealing how writers project themselves into their discourse to signal their understandings of their material and their audience. In this paper we draw on Hyland’s (2005a) model of metadiscourse to explore some of the ways that interaction contributes to the success of two journalistic genres: popular science and opinion articles. Examining 200 popular science and 200 opinion texts, we show that despite the broadly similar audience and sources of these genres, authors structure their interactions very differently, contributing to the rhetorical distinctiveness of these genres. The paper not only offers a detailed account of interactional metadiscourse in these genres, but illustrates how interpersonal connections are accomplished for particular persuasive purposes in everyday public texts.

The qualitative study presented here shows how a secondary school history teacher in the United Kingdom transformed her lesson planning and classroom interactions with students following professional development in the genre-based Reading to Learn pedagogy grounded in Systemic Functional Linguistics. The teacher undertook Reading to Learn while teaching a history class preparing for the General Certificate of Secondary Education. The professional development enabled her to analyse the genres and linguistic features of history texts in order to support the development of subject knowledge via the implementation of the teaching strategies designed to support student reading and writing of the texts required by the examination curriculum. The study reporting on the teacher planning and classroom practices includes examples of teacher-student interaction that demonstrate how the teacher was able to approach her disciplinary texts through the lens of genre, thus identifying the existing gap between the reading of informative genres in textbooks and the requirement to write in less familiar evaluative genres in exams. Moreover, the careful planning of strategies to support reading and the annotation of texts, had a positive impact on the joint construction of the less familiar argumentative genre required.

This paper explores the use of chat in Teletandem (TTD) activities (Telles; Vassallo, 2006) on the UNESP-SJRP campus from 2006 to 2020, focusing on possible genres materialized in chats, in English <> Portuguese partnerships. Two main questions guided the study: firstly, to identify the genres materialized in chats; and secondly, to examine how the use of chat has evolved along with synchronous communication tools. The research adopted a qualitative and longitudinal approach (Wagner et. al, 2018; Dörnyei, 2007) and investigated whether textual genres (Bazerman, 1994, 2006; Miller 2012a, 2012b, 2016, 2017; Miller; Shepherd, 2009) emerged in chat interactions. Through this analysis, the use of chats over the period was verified. The data was collected from publications related to TTD, including master's dissertations and doctoral theses, and from MulTeC (Lopes, 2019; Aranha; Lopes, 2019). Once collected, the data was integrated into the technical, ontological and epistemological dimensions (Ferro, 2021). The analysis was conducted based on predefined thematic axes, considering the particularities of the textual genres identified and based on the quantitative results obtained by analyzing the data in the Voyant Tools® tool. The final analysis revealed evidence of the materialization of the Initial Teletandem Oral Session (iSOT) genre (Rampazzo, 2017) in the initial period, which did not carry over into the second period due to advances in synchronous communication tools. However, this possible genre persisted in another form within the tool, indicating potential survival in the new environment. In addition, there was a change in the use of chat from being the main locus of interaction to a supporting role for oral interaction, in line with the evolution of synchronous communication tools over time. Despite these findings, limitations were found, including insufficient data from the initial period. Future avenues of research could explore additional genres within the TTD genre system, investigate the possible migration of genres and analyze the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic consequences of the materialization of genres in chat and vice versa. These new investigations may offer valuable insights for further research into TTD and related linguistic issues.

Building on the seminal work on grammar and frames (e.g. Fillmore 1982), in addition to recent studies that apply a construction grammar approach to the description of genres (Antonopoulou & Nikiforidou 2011; Nikiforidou 2010b; Östman 2005) and spoken discourse (Fischer 2011; Fried & Östman 2005), this paper highlights the importance of extending the analytical boundary of grammar to include interactional frames, e.g. genres and social interactions. Using as an illustrative case the stand-alone noun-modifying construction in Japanese, a grammatical construction that is genre-sensitive, this paper suggests that grammatical constructions and interactional frames are in partnership in the construction of meaning. It is argued that this partnership is mediated by the proficient language users’ knowledge, which is socially and culturally inculcated and fostered, and therefore it is important to keep the theoretical model flexible enough to acknowledge fluidity in grammatical understanding.

Genre theories determine that texts no longer belong to a single genre but can be included into various genres. As the borders of genres become more indistinct, interaction between genres are observed to increase. The presence of common discursive codes of genres helps authors be freed of the limits of a single genre, which enables the same texts to be read within the scope of various genres. In addition, genre differentiations with traditional strict rules are replaced with discursive genres that can change with new invented ones according to each text. The determination of usage values of genres or literary works makes the genre to which they belong increasingly more significant. Within this context, reading literary works as dynamic structures including discursive features of different genres rather than belonging to a single genre enables these works to be understood better. It also contributes to test the validity of the extent to which genre theories has reached so far. The present article reads the novel Yeşil Elmalar, which is regarded as an unadmired detective fiction, as a novel reflecting the characteristics of both crime/detective and mystery fiction. The aforementioned novel is examined under the light of characteristics taken from both detective and mystery literature, and its repetitive codes especially as weird and eerie are stressed over the examples taken from the text.

<p>Technology has been given relatively little attention in genre theory, but this article argues that material technologies can be important components in genre development. The argument is based on a historically informed analysis of digital games, with special attention paid to home console video games and recent genre developments within this domain commonly referred to as motion gaming. The main point is that digital game genres imply structured embodied activity. A constitutive element of digital game mediation is a control interface geared to player embodiment, and I propose the concept of ‘interaction modes’ to describe the coupling of technology and player embodiment and show how this can be integrated with genre theory. The resulting framework allows for increased attention to continuity and change in game and communication genres, material and digital technologies, and the related interaction modes.</p>

Cette thèse doctorale adopte une approche spatiale pour examiner comment les interactions genrées de rue affectent la structure, l’accès à et la perception des espaces publics urbains à Medellín. Elle s’intéresse notamment aux interpellations de rue masculines adressées aux femmes dans les espaces publics, souvent comprises comme du « harcèlement de rue » mais communément appelées « compliments de rue » au niveau local. L’enquête mobilise une approche intersectionnelle pour examiner comment l’usage, la régulation et la contestation de ces interactions sont modulées par des structures de pouvoir interconnectées liées au genre, à la classe sociale, et à la race. J’analyse comment les interactions genrées dans les espaces publics participent à la reproduction des hiérarchies raciales et de classe sociale enracinées dans l’histoire coloniale à travers la maintenance des polarités genrées. Ces interactions contribuent à distinguer les femmes « respectables » des femmes « repréhensibles », une classification implicite aux catégories de caste en vigueur à l’époque coloniale. J’explore également le rôle de ces interactions dans la maintenance d’une polarité masculine correspondante entre hommes protecteurs et hommes agresseurs. La recherche s’appuie sur un travail ethnographique immersif de sept mois qui comporte l’observation des espaces publics et plus que 70 entretiens semi-directifs ainsi que des méthodologies innovatrices telles que des entretiens mobiles et la cartographie sensible. Elle a été menée en 2018 et 2019, un moment où la Colombie venait d’entrer dans un état de post-conflit avec la signature d’un accord de paix en 2016 entre le gouvernement et le groupe Farc (Forces armées révolutionnaires de Colombie). Medellín a été particulièrement touché par le conflit armé mais a récemment réussi à se réinventer comme ville moderne et innovante. C’est dans ce contexte que s’inscrit un des principaux axes d’analyse de ma thèse, à savoir la façon dont des forces d’ordres à la fois légales (comme le gouvernement municipal) et illégales (comme les groupes paramilitaires) cherchent à protéger ou à harceler les femmes dans les espaces publics de manière à consolider leur contrôle des territoires et à maintenir certains ordres sociaux et économiques
This doctoral dissertation adopts a spatial perspective to explore how gendered street interactions affect the experience of and access to Medellín’s urban public spaces. It is particularly concerned with comments men direct at women in public places (many of which are commonly understood to be “street harassment” and locally referred to as “street compliments”), mobilizing an intersectional approach to analyze how their use, contestation, and regulation are affected by entwined power structures related to gender, class, and race. I examine how these interactions perpetuate racial and class hierarchies rooted in colonial history by upholding gendered polarities that distinguish between “respectable” and “dishonourable” women, a distinction implicit to caste categories in place under colonial rule. I similarly examine the role these interactions play in upholding a corresponding masculine polarity between “protectors” and “aggressors.” The research is based on seven months of immersive ethnographic fieldwork, which included observations of public spaces and over 70 semi-structured interviews in addition to innovative methodologies such as mobile interviews and social cartography. It was conducted in 2018 and 2019, shortly after the signing of peace accords between the Colombian government and the FARC [The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia] in 2016. Medellín was particularly affected by Colombia’s armed conflict but has recently rebranded as a modern and innovative city on the international stage. This context gives rise to one of the central lines of inquiry in my thesis, which looks at the ways in which both legal and illegal forces of order (Medellín’s municipal government and local paramilitary groups, respectively), alternately condemn or engage in the harassment of women in public spaces as a means to consolidate control over territories and uphold particular economic and social orders
Esta tesis doctoral adopta una perspectiva espacial para explorar cómo las interacciones generizadas en los espacios públicos afectan la estructura, el acceso y la percepción de estos espacios en la ciudad de Medellín. Focaliza particularmente los comentarios masculinos dirigidos hacia mujeres desconocidas en lugares públicos (que son ampliamente comprendidos como “acoso callejero” pero habitualmente llamados “piropos callejeros” a nivel local), adoptando un enfoque interseccional para examinar cómo su utilización, regulación y cuestionamiento son modulados por estructuras de poder interconectadas que están relacionadas con el género, la clase social, y la raza. Examina cómo estas interacciones participan de la reproducción de jerarquías de raza y de clase social arraigadas en la historia colonial a través del mantenimiento de polaridades de género que distinguen entre mujeres “respetables” y “deshonrosas,” una clasificación implícita en las categorías de casta vigentes en la época colonial. También indaga el papel de estas interacciones a la hora de mantener la correspondiente polaridad masculina entre hombres “protectores” y “agresores”. La investigación está basada en siete meses de trabajo de campo etnográfico e inmersivo que incluyó la observación de espacios públicos y más de 70 entrevistas semiestructuradas, además de metodologías innovadoras como entrevistas móviles y cartografía sensible. El trabajo de campo se realizó en 2018 y 2019, poco tiempo después de la firma de los acuerdos de paz entre el gobierno colombiano y el grupo FARC (Fuerzas armadas revolucionarias de Colombia) en 2016. Medellín se vio particularmente afectada por el conflicto armado pero recientemente ha logrado reinventarse como ciudad moderna e innovadora en la escena internacional. Le genre de plantes carnivores à Nepenthes comporte au moins 120 espèces, réparties dans le sud est asiatique avec les iles de Bornéo et de Sumatra comme centres d'endémisme et de diversité. Ce sont des lianes, dont les feuilles modifiées en urnes comportent un faisceau d'adaptations physicochimiques et morphologiques qui concourent à l'attraction, la capture et la digestion d'arthropodes. La très grande diversité morphologique du genre est couplé e à une diversité fonctionnelle : les mécanismes de rétention sont variables d'une espèce à l'autre. A côté de cette diversité interspécifique, certaines espèces voient la morphologie et le fonctionnement de leurs urnes se modifier au cours de leur ontogénie. Cette thèse fait le lien entre les mécanismes du piégeage et l'écologie de quelques espèces et l'histoire évolutive et de la diversification du genre
The carnivorous genus encompasses at least 120 species mainly distributed in SE Asia with Borneo and Sumatra recognized as endemism and diversity centers. They are vines whose leaves modified as pitchers exhibit an array of morphological and physicochemical adaptations that compete to the attraction, the capture and the digestion of arthropods. Besides the great morphological diversity the genus comprises a functional diversity exists: retentive mechanisms vary between species and in some species pitcher morphologies and functioning can also change throughout ontogeny. This thesis attempts to describe the trapping mechanisms and the ecology of some species to the evolutionary history of the diversification of the genus

L'objectif de cette thèse est d'étudier l'histoire évolutive de deux groupes d'angiospermes : les pensées (sect. Melanium, genre Viola, Violaceae) et les passiflores (genre Passiflora, Passifloraceae). Sur la base de la reconstruction phylogénétique de chaque groupe, nous avons examiné quelques mécanismes susceptibles d'avoir joué un rôle dans l'évolution et la diversification de ces deux groupes. La première partie de ce travail a porté sur l'étude des pensées. Une évolution réticulée impliquant des événements d'hybridation entre espèces semble être à l'origine de la diversification de ce groupe, comme le suggèrent la variabilité des nombres chromosomiques, la présence d'hybrides, l'hétéromorphisme pollinique répandu et la faible diversité génétique estimée par le séquençage de la région nucléaire ITS. L'utilisation de marqueurs du type ISSR a permis d'obtenir une idée des relations de parenté entre les pensées. La reconstruction de l'évolution du nombre chromosomique suggère que les nombres de base probables sont x = 7 ou x = 11. La reconstruction de l'évolution du type apertural montre que la forme de pollen majoritaire chez les pensées présente quatre apertures, accompagnée de formes minoritaires à trois ou cinq apertures. La deuxième partie de cette étude a concerné les passiflores. La phylogénie basée sur la région nucléaire du gène nucléaire de la glutamine synthétase s'exprimant dans le chloroplaste (ncpGS) et la région chloropiastique du gène maturase K (matK) montre que le genre se divise en trois clades. Cette phylogénie est soutenue par la distribution du nombre chromosomique et de différents caractères morphologiques. La phylogénie a servi de base à l'étude de mécanismes évolutifs tels que la distribution géographique et les interactions plante-pollinisateur et plante-herbivore. Au moyen de méthodes comparatives, l'adaptation des fleurs des passiflores à un type de pollinisateur ainsi que l'influence de la couleur des fleurs et du nombre d'herbivores sur la répartition géographique ont été confirmées. Nous avons aussi montré l'absence d'un patron de co-spéciation entre les passiflores et leurs herbivores, les papillons de la tribu Heliconiine. Une adaptation des larves aux métabolites secondaires des passiflores a toutefois été soulignée
The aim of this thesis was to study the evolutionary history of two groups of angiosperms: pansies (section Melanium, genus Viola, Violaceae) and passionflowers (genus Passiflora, Passifloraceae), Phylogenetic relationships within groups were established using molecular markers. The resulting trees were used for examining some characters or mechanisms potentially involved in the evolution and diversification of both groups. The first part of this work was focused on pansies. The very low genetic diversity revealed by ITS, the highly variable chromosome number, the occurrence of natural hybrids and the widespread pollen heteromorphism suggest that this section might have undergone a reticulate evolution. Relationships among pansies were estimated using ISSR markers. The reconstruction of chromosome number evolution on the phylogeny suggests x = 7 or x = 9 as probable base chromosome numbers for the section. The reconstruction of aperture type shows that the most common pollen type in pansies is 4-aperturate, always found associated with 3- or 5-aperturate pollen grains, whereas the 3-aperturate type is predominant in the rest of the genus Viola. The second part of this work was devoted to passionflowers. Phylogenetic relationships within the genus Passiflora were established using nuclear and chloroplast markers: a region of the glutamine synthetase nuclear gene chloroplast-expressed (ncpGS) and a region of the chloroplast maturase K gene (matK). The genus appears split into three main clades, each supported chromosome numbers and several morphological characters. The phylogeny was used for examining the evolution plant-herbivore and plant-pollinator interactions and also the evolution of geographical distribution. A comparative analysis confirmed the morphological adaptation of Passiflora flowers to specific types of pollinators. No co-speciation pattern was detected between passionflowers and their herbivores, larvae of Heliconiine butterflies, although adaptation of the larvae to the secondary metabolites produced by the plants seems to have occurred. A correlation between geographic distribution and flower colour on the one hand and number of herbivores on the other hand was found

L'étude en réception s'est intéressée à la reconnaissance des ces grands contrats puis a interrogé la reconnaissance des dimensions pragmatiques et discursives dominantes, ainsi que la reconnaissance des genres par un exercice d'association. This study aims to investigate the formation of children's oral discourse, analyzing how the oral genres can be organized into a system of genres. Our study adopts the perspective of Socio interactionism in Language Acquisition, taking into account the theories of Bruner ( 1975, 1977, 1985) and Tomasello (2005 ), who state that language development occurs in interaction, in which the child is inserted into action activities and joint attention, from which the roles of the subjects are constructed. Beside this, our research also discusses textual genres, from Bakhtin (1997) to Bazerman s (2006, 2007) perspective, for whom genre is conceived as a situated practice, that is, it is sociorethoric activity, which takes into account the roles that speakers assume in the interaction, the objectives and the situation in which texts are produced and received. Furthermore, according to Bazerman (2006), the textual genres function within a group which is part of a system of genres. Thus, we seek to understand how oral genres produced by a group of 14 children and the teacher of a classroom make up a system, which founds the activities related to that specific context. For the study, we made the record of 8 shooting sessions with children aged 4 years, the same group of a classroom of kindergarten, in a private school. Our analyzes show that the textual genre found in group interactions are articulated in a dynamic system, in which the genres spontaneous conversation and ruled conversation can be considered as base genre while other genres, such as the report, the exposure and the storytelling figure as subsequent genre. Moreover, we found that oral base genres support the use of relatively new genres for children, showing that the genre system consists of an apparatus for language development.
O presente trabalho tem como objetivo investigar a constituição do discurso oral da criança, analisando como os gêneros textuais orais podem se organizar em um sistema de gêneros. Nosso estudo se insere na perspectiva do Sociointeracionismo na Aquisição da Linguagem, levando em conta as teorias de Bruner (1975; 1977; 1985) e Tomasello (2005), que partilham a ideia de que o desenvolvimento da linguagem ocorre na interação, em que a criança é inserida em atividades de ação e atenção conjuntas, nas quais os papéis dos sujeitos são construídos. Ao lado disso, nossa pesquisa também se situa no campo dos gêneros textuais, partindo de Bakhtin (1997) e, em especial, de Bazerman (2006; 2007), para quem o gênero é concebido como uma prática situada, isto é, uma atividade sociorretórica, que leva em conta os papéis que os falantes assumem na interação e os objetivos postos em jogo e a situação na qual os textos são produzidos e recebidos. Além disso, segundo a teoria de Bazerman (2006), os gêneros funcionam dentro de um conjunto que, por sua vez, integra um sistema de gêneros. Pensando nisso, buscamos compreender como os gêneros orais produzidos por um grupo de 14 crianças e pela professora da turma compõem um sistema, que embasa as atividades relacionadas a esse contexto específico. Para a realização do estudo, fizemos o registro de 8 sessões em filmagens, com crianças na faixa etária de 4 anos, pertencentes ao mesmo grupo de uma sala de aula da Educação Infantil, em uma escola da rede privada. Nossas análises demonstram que os gêneros encontrados nas interações do grupo se articulam em um sistema dinâmico, em que os gêneros conversa espontânea e conversa regrada podem ser considerados como gêneros de base enquanto outros gêneros, como o relato, a exposição e a contação de histórias figuram como subsequentes. Ainda na perspectiva do sistema, verificamos que os gêneros orais de base dão suporte para o uso dos gêneros relativamente novos para as crianças, evidenciando que o sistema de gêneros consiste em um espaço de desenvolvimento da língua.

Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo estudar o gênero discursivo propaganda televisiva e as interações verbais aí presentes sob a perspectiva bakhtiniana. O corpus principal da pesquisa compõe-se de dados retirados de algumas propagandas televisivas, tendo sido gravadas e transcritas 11 propagandas da empresa FIAT Automóveis do Brasil, produzidas no período de 2000 a 2003. A análise das propagandas televisivas foi realizada com base nos pressupostos da teoria de Bakhtin (1981, 1992 e 1997), considerando-se conceitos de gênero, interação verbal, dialogismo, vozes discursivas, intertextualidade e ironia. A partir dos resultados da análise, propomos a classificação do gênero propaganda televisiva como um gênero intersemiótico complexo. A análise dos dados permitiu também caracterizar a propaganda televisiva como um gênero em que há a fusão do próprio gênero propaganda com o seu veículo de suporte, a televisão. O estudo das interações verbais mostrou que este gênero reflete aspectos histórico- sociais, valores e estereótipos, por meio das vozes ideológicas da sociedade, que permeiam o discurso. Este trabalho nos possibilita confirmar que a língua é um fenômeno social, histórico e ideológico e que o contexto é muito importante para a compreensão do que é dito ou do que se quer dizer em uma propaganda televisiva, que se constitui como um enunciado social (Bakhtin, 1981, 124).
The purpose of this research is to study the genre television advertisements and verbal interactions under Bakhtin`s perspective. The main corpus of the study is composed of data from TV ads, having been recorded and transcribed 11 samples of Brazilian car advertisements of FIAT Automobile Company, produced from 2000 to 2003. The analysis of the ads was based on theoretical concepts extracted from Bakhtin`s language theory (1981, 1992 and 1997), considering genre, verbal interaction, dialogism, discursive voices, intertextuality and irony. Based on the results of the analysis, the classification of television advertisements as a complex intersemiotic genre is proposed. Data analysis also led into the characterization of TV ads as a fusion of the advertisement genre itself together with its supporting medium, the television. The analysis of verbal interactions indicates that this genre reflects socio-historical aspects, values and stereotypes of a particular period of time through ideological voices, which are intertwined in discourse. This research confirms that language is a social, historical and ideological phenomenon and that context is very important for the understanding of what is said or of what one wants to say in a television advertisement, which is itself a social utterance (Bakhtin, 1981, 124).

By developing the biographical genre though a “translocal micro-history” approach, the research aims to study the figure of Eric J. Hobsbawm focusing on his elective affinity with Italy. It examines the ways in which the encounter of the English historian with this country took place and was renewed from the fifties until the new Millennium. First, it analyzes the relationships networks which Hobsbawm created in Italy or with Italians worldwide; secondly, it considers the results that these interactions provoked at the level of scientific production and political reflection, trying to capture at the same time the transformations that his political identity underwent in contact with the Italian Communist Party. Moreover it try to explore the features that his reputation reached in Italy, discussing the influences his production exerted on Italian historiographical context and on Italian public opinion.

In Genres of Listening Xochitl Marsilli-Vargas explores a unique culture of listening and communicating in Buenos Aires. She traces how psychoanalytic listening circulates beyond the clinical setting to become a central element of social interaction and cultural production in the city that has the highest number of practicing psychologists and psychoanalysts in the world. Marsilli-Vargas develops the concept of genres of listening to demonstrate that hearers listen differently, depending on where, how, and to whom they are listening. In particular, she focuses on psychoanalytic listening as a specific genre. Porteños (citizens of Buenos Aires) have developed a “psychoanalytic ear” that emerges during conversational encounters in everyday interactions in which participants offer different interpretations of the hidden meaning the words carry. Marsilli-Vargas does not analyze these interpretations as impositions or interruptions but as productive exchanges. By outlining how psychoanalytic listening operates as a genre, Marsilli-Vargas opens up ways to imagine other modes of listening and forms of social interaction.

Edwards shows how Seneca co-opts this particular aspect of the genre’s ideology, not least to further his educational programme and his self-conscious aspiration to a broad and enduring readership. Specifically, she argues that Seneca posits important parallels between the relationship amongst absent friends on the one hand and the relationship of philosophically minded students to earlier thinkers and practitioners of philosophy on the other, as both invite (indeed require) dialogic interactions mediated by writing and reading. This conversation with the dead in turn anticipates the mode of interaction between Seneca and future generations (including contemporary audiences).

The book interrogates interaction that crosses the genres of theatre, music, film, art, and stand-up, emphasising creative influence and artistic cooperation between performers from the Maghrib, with a focus on Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and diaspora communities, notably in France. The plays, songs, films, images, and comedy sketches analysed are multilingual, mixing not only with the former colonial language French, but also the rich diversity of indigenous Amazigh and Arabic languages. The first section examines accents, affiliations, and exchange, with an emphasis on aesthetics, familiarity, changing social roles, and cultural entrepreneurship. The second section shifts to consider departure and lingering presence through spectres and taboos, in its exploration of absence, influence, and elision. The volume concludes with an autobiographical afterword, which reflects on memories and legacies of Jewish–Muslim interactions across the Mediterranean.

AbstractYouTube hosts a vast number of videos featuring zoo animals and humans actively reacting to each other. These videos can be seen as a popular genre of online entertainment, but also as a significant visual artefact of our relations with animals in the age of humans. In this chapter we focus on two viral videos featuring captive orangutans interacting with zoo visitors. The interpretations of ape-human interactions arising from the extensive number of comments posted to the videos are ambivalent in how they see the animals and their assumed capabilities. We argue that the YouTube Zoo could figure as a snapshot of human-animal relations in late modern times: mediating artificial conditions of animals suspended between the wild and the domestic, while offering a screened account of a deeply surprising interaction. The chapter shows the potential of close interactions between humans and animals to destabilise or reinforce the neat divisions between the human and the animal. It also shows the ethical potential of these interactions to either reinforce or question common practices of dealing with wild animals.

A number of researchers have dealt with laughter as a strategic device in broadcast interviews and press conferences. I consider how laughter works in a genre in which part of the purpose is to praise the interviewee – what I call epideictic interviews. These interviews have interactional problems around presenting and accepting praise. Laughter can be placed so that it acknowledges and mitigates these problems. Typically, interviewee laughter comes in response to interviewer praise, or in the performance of humorous material. Interviewer laughter often marks for the audience that material is to be taken as non-serious. Analysis of laughter tells us both about the peculiarities of interaction in this broadcast genre, and about the difficulties in performing and listening to praise.

In the poetry of the classic Kalmyk literature of the twentieth century. Mikhail Khoninov (1919-1981) folklore tradition of the genre of good wishes (yoryal) was embodied in a number of poems and poems. The poet's good wishes are created both in the aspect of ritual poetry (yoryal for a newborn, yoryal for the house, yoryal for food, etc.) and in the aspect of modern reality (yoryal for the party, yoryal for the new year, yoryal for study, etc.). The folklore tradition of well-wishing, characteristic of Kalmyk poetry of the last century, on the one hand, demonstrated a synthesis of genres, on the other, the interaction of oral folk art and literature with the preservation of the national system of versification.

In the process of evolution of the genre system of Russian musical folklore, the emergence of the city song was due to the interaction of various factors that determined the formation at the turn of the 17th-18th centuries of a new, europeanized type of culture — national and international, artistic-morphological and socio-historical. The article emphasizes the importance of the socio-cultural aspects of the formation and development of urban song folklore associated with a change in the mass consciousness of citizens, an increase in the level of urbanization, and, consequently, with the emergence of new cultural demands of the bulk of the city population. In the article is determined the system-forming role of the bourgeois subculture in the formation of various genres of the urban song: cant, romance (gypsy, salon, etc.), ditty, working (factory) and revolutionary song.

Abstract (sommario):
This research with a qualitative approach aims to analyze the contribution of musical language in literacy practices in a rural school in the municipality of Barreirinha-AM/Brazil. The field research was carried out in a public school located in the Terra Preta do Limão District, in the municipality of Barreirinha – AM, and data collection took place in two classes in the early years of Elementary School (literacy cycle) through participant observation and conversation wheel with educators. The results of the study reveal that music is a textual genre of the artistic-literary field, which has the most diverse meanings in cultural manifestations, that is why this language in the literacy/literacy processes of the rural school is essential, because it gives the literacy students an interest, concentration, perception, communication, memory activation, as the sound, rhythm, melody, harmony and lyrics of songs are important aspects for the cognitive, motor and linguistic development of students, it also contributes to valuing and articulating knowledge locations, socio-cultural experiences and social interaction of children in the countryside. The diversity of textual genres is essential in literacy processes, and it is considered necessary to elucidate the textual genre “music” in literacy practices in reading, interpretation, development of phonological and writing awareness.

Abstract (sommario):
The article states that with the development of new journalism, the author’s ability to characterize a phenomenon and identify a trend acquires special value. Representatives of Ukrainian new journalism, which is a relatively new genre, are already gradually implementing these tasks. They compose entire books from their reports, offering the reader a condensed version of versatile observations about a certain country, situation, or phenomenon. In contrast to ordinary reportage, fiction is a synthetic genre, in which it is not reported, but told. The authors of the article research Reporters which is the first magazine of new journalism in Ukraine. Their main task is to explain the phenomenon of “meaning between facts”. According to the authors, this phenomenon is simple and unique at the same time, because through people’s stories you can find depths that relate to historical, cultural and geopolitical life. The article analyzes the interaction of text and images, shows how to find meaningful messages in actual data using specific examples. The study singled out accents that relate to the interaction of text and images. Quite often, photography reproduces reality and helps the reader to paint reality in his imagination. Textual forms delve into the plot through human history and detail. In four printed issues of the magazine, the authors of the study analyzed the stories that are particularly relevant today. First of all, this concerns Russian aggression and the insubordination of Ukrainians. Key words: new journalism, non-fiction, text, images, dialog, photojournalism.
