Abstract (sommario):
A G-KKM type theorem is obtained on G-convex spaces. As application, a generalization of Ky Fan's minimax inequality to non-compact sets on G-convex spaces is first obtained. As special cases of this minimax inequality, some new minimax inequalites are obtained. Four fixed point theorems and four equivalent formulations of the second minimax inequality are also obtained.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This article evaluates the relationship between inequality in cognitive test scores across countries and income inequality. By meta-analyzing the standard deviations in PISA results from 2000 to 2018, the authors construct a measure of intelligence inequalities across countries. They then test this measure to investigate if it has any association with income inequality as measured by the gini index. Across all models and subsamples, the authors do not find a positive association between intelligence inequality and income inequality. In models where the coefficient is statistically significant, the direction is unexpectedly negative, implying greater intelligence inequality is associated with lower income inequality. This is contrary to theoretical predictions of a positive association between these variables. Finally, the authors also find some evidence that greater mean intelligence is associated with lower levels of income inequality.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this study was to determine the level of regional development inequality in the regency/City of southeast Sulawesi Province. The analytical tool used is quantitative in the from of descriptive data analysis and secondry data with the Williamson Indeks analysis method, which is to compare the level of per capita income and population during 2016-2020. Based on the result of calculations using the Development Inequalty Analysis, it fluctuates and decreases, in 2016 it has an inequality of 0.99 while in 2020 it has decreased by o.88. however, if the data are averenged, the regional development inequality level of the regency/city of southeast Sulawesi Provinceis in the range of the high development inequality level category From year to year. And the factor that cause inequality are the increasing number of people who are increasing but the available business fields are still inadequate so that the low level of community income will affect the inequality of development. In addition, the management of natural resource content, demographic conditions, smooth mobility of goods and services, developing all the potensials in each sector and so on can be a solution to reduce development inequality in the disctricts/cities of southeast Sulawesi Province.

Abstract (sommario):
Inequality often appears in linked pairs of variables. Examples include schooling and income, income and consumption, and wealth and happiness. Consider the famous words of Veblen: “wealth confers honor.” Understanding inequality requires understanding input inequality, outcome inequality, and the relation between the two—in both inequality between persons and inequality between subgroups. This article contributes to the methodological toolkit for studying inequality by developing a framework that makes explicit both input inequality and outcome inequality and by addressing three main associated questions: (1) How do the mechanisms for generating and altering inequality differ across inputs and outcomes? (2) Which have more inequality—inputs or outcomes? (3) Under what conditions, and by what mechanisms, does input inequality affect outcome inequality? Results include the following: First, under specified conditions, distinctive mechanisms govern inequality in inputs and inequality in outcomes. Second, input inequality and outcome inequality can be the same or different; if different, whether inequality is greater among inputs or outcomes depends on the configuration of outcome function, types of inputs, distributional form of and inequality in cardinal inputs, and number of and associations among inputs. Third, the link between input inequality and outcome inequality is multiform; it can be nonexistent, linear, or nonlinear, and if nonlinear, it can be concave or convex. More deeply, this work signals the formidable empirical challenges in studying inequality, but also the fast growing toolbox. For example, even if the outcome distribution is difficult to derive, fundamental theorems on the variance make it possible to analyze the input–outcome inequality connection. Similarly, within specified distributions, the general inequality parameter makes it possible to express results in terms of both measures of overall inequality and measures of subgroup inequality.

Abstract (sommario):
We revisit to what extent the increase in income inequality since 1980 was mirrored by consumption inequality. We do so by constructing an alternative measure of consumption expenditure using a demand system to correct for systematic measurement error in the Consumer Expenditure Survey. Our estimation exploits the relative expenditure of high- and low-income households on luxuries versus necessities. This double differencing corrects for measurement error that can vary over time by good and income. We find consumption inequality tracked income inequality much more closely than estimated by direct responses on expenditures. (JEL D31, D63, E21)

Abstract (sommario):
We introduce a new distinction between inequality in initial endowments (e.g., ability, inherited wealth) and inequality of what one can obtain as rewards (e.g., prestigious positions, money). We show that, when society allocates resources via tournaments, these two types of inequality have opposing effects on equilibrium behavior and well-being. Greater inequality of rewards hurts most people—both the middle class and the poor—who are forced into greater effort. Conversely, greater inequality of endowments benefits the middle class. Thus, the correctness of our intuitions about the implications of inequality is hugely affected by the type of inequality considered. (JEL D63, D82)

Abstract (sommario):
This quantitative study examines the complex relationship between economic inequality and social inequities, focusing on educational attainment. The study examines how Gini coefficient-measured economic disparity affects educational attainment in hypothetical countries. This study uses a linear regression model to examine how economic inequality affects social outcomes. A statistically substantial positive correlation exists between the Gini coefficient and educational attainment discrepancy. Educational attainment disparity increases by 2.5 years per unit rise in the Gini coefficient, according to the calculated coefficient. This supports the idea that economic inequality increases education gaps, prolonging cycles of disadvantage for vulnerable populations. The study underlines the intricacy of these processes by conceding that regression analysis cannot prove causation. Economic inequality affects educational attainment disparity through policy frameworks, institutional structures, and cultural norms. This highlights the necessity for extensive policy responses to address these issues. The policy ramifications of this study are significant. The findings emphasize the need for fair access to quality education, especially for disadvantaged communities. Targeted actions are needed to reduce economic inequality's impact on education and promote inclusivity. This study examined educational attainment, but its approach and findings are important. The association between economic inequality and social differences is multifaceted, begging for further study. This study adds to the debate between economic inequality and social inequality. This study emphasizes the need for educated and context-sensitive strategies to reduce gaps, enhance social mobility, and create more equitable society as societies face inequality.

Abstract (sommario):
Some selected Ostrowski type inequalities and a connection with numerical integration are studied in this survey paper, which is dedicated to the memory of Professor D. S. Mitrinovic, who left us 25 years ago. His significant inuence to the development of the theory of inequalities is briefly given in the first section of this paper. Beside some basic facts on quadrature formulas and an approach for estimating the error term using Ostrowski type inequalities and Peano kernel techniques, we give several examples of selected quadrature formulas and the corresponding inequalities, including the basic Ostrowski's inequality (1938), inequality of Milovanovic and Pecaric (1976) and its modifications, inequality of Dragomir, Cerone and Roumeliotis (2000), symmetric inequality of Guessab and Schmeisser (2002) and asymmetric in-equality of Franjic (2009), as well as four point symmetric inequalites by Alomari (2012) and a variant with double internal nodes given by Liu and Park (2017).

Abstract (sommario):
The study of the relationship between education and income inequality is not a new topic, and scholars have been concerned with this issue for a long time. For the sake of social equity and poverty alleviation, governments should strengthen education for the poor. In recent years, with new advances in theories of economic growth and economic development and the emergence of new data, academic interest in the issue of income distribution has begun to grow again, focusing mainly on the determinants and dynamics of income distribution. Among them, the relationship between education and income inequality, which is an important form of human capital accumulation, has naturally become a hot issue in economics. This paper summarizes and reviews the recent studies on the relationship between education and income inequality from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.
