The primary challenge in project management is to achieve all of the defined project goals and objectives while adhering to typical constraints which are usually scope, quality, time, and budget. Often, the basic flaw in project planning and design is the complete neglect or minimal consideration of environmental and social costs and dependence only on economic analysis for project preparation and investment. A failure to understand and internalize adverse or negative impacts on environment during project preparation could lead to several undesirable consequences, which may ultimately jeopardize the very objectives of growth and development for which the project was proposed. In this paper, the author stresses upon the need for environmental management for successful project completion and discusses the challenges of addressing the key environmental issues. Environmental management is not just about the ‘trees and bees’ but also about health, safety, profits, quality assurance, reduced risks to reputation, and increased global competitiveness, states the author. Overall, it is about efficiency and reducing environmental and legal liabilities. It is argued that sound environment management reduces the unforeseen obstacles and bottlenecks that may otherwise hamper the delivery of project objectives while helping to improve the environmental performance of project operations. The key environmental issues resulting from agricultural, mining, manufacturing, and urban operations include: severe degradation of air quality due to industrial and vehicular pollution contamination of land and water resources due to pesticides, fertilizers, and dumping of hazardous wastes depletion of raw material reserves contamination of surface and ground water sources due to discharge of sewage and industrial effluents deforestation. Environmental impact assessment (EIA) study is suggested as a tool for formulating an environment management plan. EIA should, however, not be treated just as a tool for regulatory compliance but as an instrument for improving project management per se with proper expertise, time, and budget allocations made for the purpose. In environmental management, the moot question is: How to get started? The author's advice is to start small and simple and gradually turn them into action plans for a worksite and subsequently up-scale them for the entire company. It is ultimately the actions taken at personal or community level or as a project manager that matters the most when it comes to environmental sustainability. Policies and plans merely show the way. It is becoming increasingly important to make environmental management an economic driver that would serve to minimize environmental damages and promote resource efficiency and cost savings to businesses.

Experience of the leading port industrial complexes indicated high socio-economic performance indicators. However, not every port becomes a basis for formation of a port industrial complex. In different countries, formation happens differently. According to the functional problems, Russian port industrial territories have a lack of development of managerial approaches to its formation and development. Overview of the development of Russian port industrial complexes shows that shortage of research on strategical management, including investment and institutional aspects, leads to an absence of methodological basis for engineering industrial port zones, as well as its strategical development. This requires detection of typical problems of the development of Russian and foreign port industrial complexes, definition of influencing factors, and systematization of managerial experience. During research process, methodology for system economic theory, which is best suited for a complicated territorial facility, was used. Such methodology considers interrelations among environmental, process, project, and object aspects. Namely, the problems of formation and development of port industrial complexes, as well as factors contributing to its growing potential, were identified and systematized in comparative order.

This paper firstly reviews the microbiological aspects of the accumulation of xenobiotic and non-xenobiotic substances from industrial and domestic waste water treatments, with particular reference to hydrocarbons, pesticides and inorganic plant nutrients. The paper goes on to argue that if water bodies are to be used to establish recreational fisheries as well as for water supply and effluent disposal, then the management aim may need to be one of controlled eutrophy. Ramifications of this proposal are considered. The biological aspects of the impact of other recreational and amenity uses of water bodies on water and environmental quality is briefly described. The paper concludes by discussing the training required by potential water managers.

At present, waste reduction or elimination has become a serious environmental concern for most countries and a priority for companies. Waste is not only an environmental problem but also an economic loss. A prerequisite for flourishing economic activity is the efficient management of waste and other resources. The recovery of waste resources has become an industrial reality due to technological innovations in the era of raw materials shortage. Sustainable materials management goes further than ecological waste management and focuses on the efficient use of available materials. The article aims to research the waste management process, shed light on the place of waste management in promoting the circular economy, and outline positive experiences in this area by highlighting the potential benefits and economic costs of applying these practices. That could serve as an incentive to accelerate efficient waste management processes in the Republic of Moldova. Waste management benefits the environment but also increases the number of companies and jobs. The presented article discusses waste management issues and shows some current issues related to them. The paper the authors wrote within the frame of the state project 20.80009.0807.22. - Developing a mechanism for the circular economy creation in the Republic of Moldova.

Competent management of the production and consumption of waste is the foundation for ensuring a favorable environment in cities and comfortable living conditions for the population. Laws and regulations play a key role in this process since they determine measures aimed at creating conditions for safe waste management, an effective management system in the field of environmental protection from waste pollution. In the cities of many developing countries, including Russia, despite the efforts being made, there is an increase in the volume of municipal solid waste. Solving the problems of waste management has been set as a national task. The article analyzes the current condition of solid waste management systems in developed and developing countries and identifies the features and prospects of waste management, including the one in Russia. It is established that the existing set of organizational, sanitary, and legal measures, and legal regulation of relations and law enforcement practices in the field of solid municipal waste management in many developing countries is still in the forming stage. The positive experiences of countries in implementing sustainable systems of safe waste management and the positions of judicial bodies on controversial issues of waste management in cities can be used as the basis for an environmental policy of safe waste management at all levels of public authority, as well as improving legislation in the field of waste management.

In recent years, the urgency of finding new forms, methods and organizational and economic mechanisms to improve personnel management in large industrial enterprises has increased. The article substantiates the theoretical principles of personnel management in large industrial enterprises in order to improve the mechanism of ensuring its efficiency. The study found that personnel management is to comprehensively assess the relations in the workforce, which are related to the hiring and supply of labour, its pay, staff turnover, trends and prospects. The purpose of personnel management is to provide employees with the necessary quantitative and qualitative parameters and the organization of their effective work. It is transformed into more specific goals, which are determined by the goals of the enterprise. It is revealed that it is expedient to apply an integrated approach to personnel management, the essence of which is to combine and interact process, system, situational and strategic approaches. The article clarifies the list of functions and tasks of personnel management in a large industrial enterprise, the difference of which is that it includes the entire list of management functions (forecasting, planning, organization, control, analysis, accounting, regulation) a single interconnected set of processes in management staff. On the basis of generalization of scientific developments and results of current practice of functioning of large industrial enterprises the priority directions of improvement of personnel management are offered: maintenance of conditions of professional development of personnel; improving the system of rationing and remuneration; improving working conditions, safety and security; development of social and labour relations and organizational culture in the digital economy; ensuring social protection in the postcoronavirus period; improving the efficiency of work with youth.

This research study aims to examine the effect of implementing environmental management accounting in increasing firm value in Tangerang Raya. This research uses a population of 2,579 manufacturing industrial companies in Banten province spread across Cilegon City, Serang Regency and City, Pandeglang City, Lebak City and Tangerang Raya. The samples were selected using predetermined criteria with quantitative methods. Based on the multiple linear regression testing that has been carried out, the following results are obtained: there is a significant positive effect between the material input aspect and the environmental complaint mechanism aspect on firm value. Furthermore, the results of non-output aspects of products and aspects of compliance have a significant negative effect on firm value. However, there are three aspects of the proxy for the application of environmental management accounting which consist of transportation aspects, other aspects, and supplier assessment aspects that have a positive and insignificant effect on firm value. Simultaneously, the effect of the application of environmental management accounting proxied through material input, environmental complaint mechanism, non-product output, compliance, transportation, supplier assessment and others have a significant effect on firm value.

Identifying linked environmental aspects and evaluating related impacts is a crucial requirement of any environmental management system for industrial facilities. Industrial sites should guarantee that a complete procedure for aspect identification and impact assessment is in place to fulfil international environmental protection and preservation requirements. The goal of this research was to develop a new procedure. Determine which environmental aspects of industrial sites (actions, products, and services) have or can have substantial consequences, and review and monitor their control regularly. Professional judgment will play an essential part in determining how to address significance in many cases, and this can be aided by collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The study's conclusion was creating a new environmental aspect evaluation system based on newly developed aspects and impacts rating matrix. Industrial sites could use this approach to identify and manage the environmental aspects of their operations.

One of the main sources of non-ferrous and precious metals is sulfide ores. This paper presents a review of the existing literature on the electrochemical properties of some of the most common industrial sulfides, such as pentlandite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, pyrrhotite, pyrite, etc. The study results of the surface redox transformations of minerals, galvanic effect, cathodic oxygen reduction reaction on the surface of sulfides are presented. The electrochemical properties of sulfide minerals are manifested both in the industrial processes of flotation and hydrometallurgy and in the natural geological setting or during the storage of sulfide-containing mining, mineral processing, and metallurgical industry waste.

Annually, increasing volumes of industrial and municipal waste generation and disposal, leading to increasing anthropogenic environmental and sanitary-epidemiological pressure on the environment and, as a consequence, significant environmental damage and associated economic damage to natural ecosystems, represent one of the main threats to environmental safety territories, life and health of the population. At the same time, numerous valuable components extracted from processed production and consumption wastes can be an important source of reserve for the development of industries and sectors of the economy, entrepreneurial activities in the use of secondary resources for production, services, works and energy. This factor dictates the need to search for new sound management, economic, organizational and technical approaches and solutions to lawmaking, planning and forecasting the cost-effective organization of the system of separate collection, processing, disposal, disposal of production and consumption waste, the development of an appropriate industrial, scientific and technological infrastructure, increasing the share of secondary material and energy resources extracted from waste, the development of instruments of state oh support and economic incentives for this activity.

The main techniques for soil industrial wastes disposal, namely, landfarming and landfilling, profit from the extensive knowledge acquired, in past decades, in the field of water and air pollution control and must be analysed within a comprehensive system for hazardous waste management, with its legal and administrative aspects. This paper presents some general principles of a Hazardous Waste Management System, which are broadly applicable, regardless differences between States or Countries. Finally, it discusses the specific case of Hazardous Wastes Management in the State of Bahia, Brazil and makes some suggestions for its improvement.

Industrial activities pose significant challenges to environmental conservation due to the generation of large volumes of waste. Effectively managing industrial waste is essential for mitigating environmental impact and fostering sustainable development. This research proposes the utilization of Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) algorithms to optimize industrial waste management practices and enhance environmental conservation efforts. The study encompasses various aspects, including predictive modelling for waste generation, automated waste segregation and sorting, optimization of waste treatment processes, environmental impact assessment, resource recovery from waste streams, real-time monitoring and control systems, decision support systems for policy-making, data-driven compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. Overall, the advantages of ELM make it a powerful tool for various machine learning tasks, particularly in scenarios where efficiency, scalability, and simplicity are crucial. By integrating ELM algorithms with Internet of Things (IoT) devices and sensor networks, smart waste management systems can be developed for proactive intervention and pollution prevention. This research aims to contribute to the advancement of sustainable industrial practices and environmental conservation efforts through innovative applications of Extreme Learning Machine in waste management.

Abstract Many benefits resulting from the development of the heavy industry are, unfortunately, accompanied by many issues resulting from the process of generating the industrial waste. This manuscript is presenting the environmental consequences, resulting from long period of time of heavy industry production and exploring the possibilities to recycle some of the industrial waste generated during the period of more than one century of ore excavation and copper extraction in the region of Eastern Serbia, in the vicinity of city of Bor. First part of the manuscript is presenting the scope of environmental issues, resulting from the heavy industry in this region and the amounts and the structure of the industrial waste, generated in this area, as well as the influence of generated waste to the environment of the region. Second part of the manuscript is dealing with the potential to recycle and reuse some of this waste, analyzing technological, economic and environmental aspects at the same time. In the final segment of the paper, some practical examples will be addressed based on the research work conducted at both experimental and industrial level. Results presented in the manuscript are mostly collected during long term research of the project team from Technical faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade, in the field of environmental management. This way, this manuscript is based on review of the research papers authored or co-authored by the author of this work, dealing with water, soil and air pollution, published in leading international journals. Also, the manuscript is presenting the literature review of other international issues dealing with the environmental management issues in the vicinity of large industrial complexes. Parts of the research results, presented in this manuscript are financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development of Republic of Serbia, under the project TR34023.

The article is aimed at forming scientific and practical aspects of assessing the industrial enterprise management system in the context of innovative development. The research results show that creating an effective management system for the innovation-oriented development of industrial enterprises is aimed at stimulating them to become flexible and obtain long-term resilience to environmental factors for both the shorter and longer term. These features help industrial enterprises transform, face qualitative changes, and adapt to various external impulses. A method of assessing the industrial enterprise management system in the context of innovative development is suggested, which includes the following stages: preparatory stage; information stage; analytical stage; research stage; recommendation stage. The effective development of domestic industrial enterprises directly depends on the formation of a management system, which is assessed in the following areas: financial and economic support; long-term staffing; management and performance support; organizational and production support; information and analytical support. As a result of the study, integrated indices of the industrial enterprise management system for 2015–2019 were calculated. They showed that dynamic digitalization of the economy requires the industrial enterprises management to form innovative development guidelines in order to increase the competitiveness of industrial enterprises.

To preserve the ecological balance and health of the population of the African continent, it is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the surrounding rivers, lakes and ocean coasts. Oil production, transportation of oil and petroleum products inevitably lead to pollution of sea waters due to accidents on tankers, equipment breakdowns, and fires. Oceanic coasts are of great importance for the development of the tourism industry, which plays a significant role in the national economies of African countries. However, many coastal areas are contaminated with industrial and household waste, oil refining waste and sewage. As a result of the growth of cities, the increase in the number of urban residents and the development of industry, a huge number of substances that do not decompose naturally is discharged into water sources. Currently, domestic sewage in most coastal cities does not meet modern sanitary requirements, since the repair of old and the laying of new sewage treatment plants require large financial investments. In the interests of nature and human health, a number of international instruments has been adopted prohibiting the import of hazardous and radioactive waste, as well as the dumping or incineration of hazardous waste in the oceans and inland waters on the African continent. In some African countries, periodic clean-up activities are carried out on ocean and river coasts, but they are ad hoc and do not have a decisive impact on the state of contaminated areas. Experts of international environmental organizations have proposed a set of measures for the conservation and rational use of water resources: construction of wastewater treatment plants; mandatory environmental assessment of all major water management projects; development of measures to eliminate possible damage; control of new industrial installations and industrial waste disposal; design and operation of landfills based on reliable hydrogeological information and environmental expertise. However, these regulations are often violated, and solving the problem of coastal water pollution remains a distant prospect.

The actuality of enterprises’ operating plans adaptation under the points of transformational economic changes caused by military actions in Ukraine has been interpreted. The advantages of in-depth informatization of economic activity organization of national producers under the influence of European Union (EU) rules have been presented. The essence of current export planning under the demands of foreign market entering has been given. In order to highlight the practical questions of managerial process of enterprise’s production by export plan indicators, it was interrelated two core stages of export manufacturing in accordance of main functions of management. In the context of conceptualization and evaluating stage it was listed and interpreted general information that needs to be in export plan and includes characteristics of market, competiveness, enterprise’s values, financial possibilities and costs. In the context of stage of realization there were listed main production units that concerns capacities, volumes and staff, underlined prospective parts that deals with financial, analytical and modeling views of profitability measurement. In accordance of presented stages the justification of structural components of industrial producer’s export plan formation has been proposed. The meaning of informative completeness management of general, cost, production and prospective parts of export plan is underlined. The factors and determinants that determine the profitability of export-oriented enterprise, destabilize the economic balance and can affect the cost items of its production processes have been emphasized. The organization structure of information completeness of industrial enterprise export plan has been proposed and built, where interrelation between administrative staff and main performers has been singled out.

Aim. The purpose of this study is a geographical analysis of the anthropogenic transformation of the landscape mosaic of the Volyn region as a result of uncontrolled land reclamation works. The article was a continuation of a series of publications devoted to the study of the processes and consequences of the transformation of the components of the natural environment in the context of the course of administrative and territorial reform in Ukraine. Method. In the scientific work, to take into account the influence of qualitative indicators on the process of transformation of landscapes of the Volyn region under the influence of drainage reclamation, the methodology of P. G. Shishchenko was used. A number of additions were made to the methodology in order to determine the coefficient of anthropogenic transformation of landscapes for calculating the coefficient of transformation of terrain and soils. Forests, meadows and pastures, and arable land in drained areas with an index of the depth of anthropogenic transformation were allocated to separate groups. For eroded lands, the index of the depth of anthropogenic transformation was taken as the same as for lands of industrial use. The results. Ukraine is characterized by a very high level of agricultural development of the territory, however, at the administrative-territorial level - by oblasts, districts, and even territorial communities, there are some differences in this regard. Determining the depth and condition of lands transformed in the process of drainage reclamation provides an opportunity to understand the consequences of the influence of a group of factors on the land fund and encourages the scientific study of various components of the environment. The types of land in the Volyn region, where agricultural land occupies 53% of the total territory and is unevenly distributed, have a colorful palette - it is arable land, and perennial plantations, and hayfields and pastures, etc. One of the consequences of drainage reclamation is the intensive mineralization of the organic part of the soil, so the results obtained using the adjusted method allow for a more differentiated assessment of the state of transformation of the landscapes of the Volyn region. The results are adequate, because there is a connection with the industrial development of territories and the level of use of land resources. The scientific novelty consists in the structural and geographical analysis of the impact of drainage reclamation on the territory of the Volyn region on various types of environment, in particular, relief and soils. The study was conducted for the newly formed administrative districts of the Volyn region in the course of the administrative and territorial reform in Ukraine. Practical significance. The results of the research can be used in the educational process of the Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, the National University of Water Management and Nature Management, the Rivne Professional Technical College of the National University of Water Management and Nature Management and other educational institutions in the teaching of geographic, economic and tourism disciplines. The results will find their application in the legislative and executive work of local self-government bodies when developing programs for the socio-economic development of territorial communities. Research materials will contribute to the rational use of natural and anthropogenically transformed resources of the Volyn region, which will allow to qualitatively influence the course of administrative and territorial reform. A number of provisions can be used in similar studies of other regions of Ukraine.

The article examines the results of the analysis of socio-cultural and ecological components, defines the main features of these components of sustainable development of the studied industrial enterprises as a whole. A study of the main indicators that determine and reflect the socio-cultural component of the implementation of the germinal development of industrial enterprises of the Ternopil Region was carried out. The negative dynamics of the decrease in the share of profit oriented towards the social needs of both the workers of industrial enterprises and the community they represent are highlighted. An increase in labor productivity was noted at all the investigated enterprises. An analysis of the ecological component was carried out. The criteria that must be used when developing a strategy for the sustainable development of an industrial enterprise are described, and this will allow preserving the environment for future generations, and will not worsen the environmental conditions around the enterprise itself. It was determined that the basis of the current germinative development of industrial enterprises should be the protection and rational treatment of the environment. It was emphasized that it is necessary to solve the most painful problems, namely: pollution of air, water, and soil. The world experience of industrial entrepreneurship, which offers the basis of ways in the field of solid household waste management, is described. Having studied the socio-cultural and ecological components, it should be noted that the main threats in the future may be: an increase in the level of inflation, a decrease in wages for employees of an industrial enterprise, the destruction of socio-cultural infrastructure and environmental pollution due to the military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. In general, negative trends require the implementation of the concept of strategizing actions focused on strengthening the main components of the German development of these industrial enterprises.

The author emphasizes the need to revise the concept of regional industrial policy during the transition period to the innovative stage of economic development. Analyzing the different scientific approaches to the theoretical foundation of this policy demonstrated its value in ajudent combination of innovative ideas with effective management decisions, and in injecting a reasonable degree of conservatism into the process of change. The article examines the essence of industrial policy and suggests interpreting it through the lens of harmonious interaction between economic entities at all levels of the socio-economic system, from the macro to the nano level. The emphasis on regional policy is on consistency, strategic focus, selective approach to determining content and selection of policy instruments, as well as the unification of industrial, innovation, investment and social policies. A strong emphasis is being placed on maintaining a balance between the interests of the state and other parties involved in the political process, while also providing systematic monitoring of the processes and results of the implementation of regional policy.

The study focuses on the aspects of environmental protection practices in the Russian Federation primarily with regard to industrial and household waste management. Waste now occupies significant areas and causes pollution of the adjacent territories and specifically underground waters that further mix with, and significantly spoil, ground waters. The study addresses the technologies of interaction and methods of economic stimulation to improve waste management going further both at the regional and national level. Almost no progress has been achieved in this direction in the Russian Federation over the past ten years – the main technological mechanism adopted in major cities and other major infrastructure facilities consisted in waste removal to a landfill without any specific treatment. More recently, urban and technological development has intensified environmental problems. The paper outlines waste management practices employed in Russia and other countries and provides an efficiency assessment. The basic economic mechanisms, such as tariff regulation, environmental levy and environmental impact fees, are described and assessed in terms of their stimulating effects on waste management improvement in the Russian Federation. Aspects of waste removal under a single regional operator are discussed and a model of public-private partnership in waste management is proposed and detailed.

Aim. The presented study aims to consider the relevance of research on green innovation in industrial companies using quantitative methods.Tasks. The authors systematize major approaches to the definition of the concept of green innovation; consider the correlation between modern theories of innovation and innovative deve lopment and the concept of green innovation; analyze scientific papers on green innovation in the field of economics, management, and business.Methods. This study uses the methods of literature analysis, quantitative data analysis, comparison, and classification.Results. Approaches to the understanding of green innovation are summarized. In particular, the authors propose their own interpretation of environmental, value, technological, and ESG approaches. A logical diagram of the relationship between ESG factors and the implementation of green innovation is presented along with the authors’ definition of this phenomenon, the distinctive feature of which is that it takes into account the revealed relationship.Conclusions. Quantitative assessment methods prove the high relevance of research on green innovation in the international community. At the same time, it is indicated that this interest is just beginning to emerge in Russian science. In conclusion, recommendations are proposed for increasing the scale of green innovation in Russian industry.

The article provides an overview of scientific research by scientists from around the world on the formation and implementation of the principles of a circular economy. Attention is also paid to the historical aspect of the formation of the stages of economic development. The characteristics of the agrarian, industrial and post-industrial economies are given. It is shown that the problem of limited resources and the use of consumption and production wastes has always existed. But these problems were solved in different ways in different historical periods. The solution to the accumulated problems is the transition to a circular economy model. Introduction of more advanced technologies allows not only to reduce the negative impact on the environment of current production activities, but also to reduce the volume of accumulated waste over the previous periods of production activities. When studying the Russian experience in the transition to a circular economy model, attention is paid to Russian legislation. The practical application of circular economy principles is shown on the example of a Russian industrial enterprise. The ecological program “Clean City”, which was developed at Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, is considered. It should be implemented in stages until 2025. The ongoing programs require significant financial resources and cannot be implemented in the short term. The graphs show the result of the ongoing program: reduction of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, into water bodies, comparative data on specific emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO2) kg/ton of steel at the leading metallurgical plants in the world (2017). The environmental safety of the production processes of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is ensured not only by advanced technologies, but also by modern methods of environmental management. The enterprise has implemented an environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001, which is confirmed by a certificate issued to the enterprise. The independent appraisal of the enterprise in 2018 was carried out by the Living Planet TV channel and the Modern Media Institute (MOMRI); energy rating agency Interfax-Era; World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Sustainable business practices are those that allow companies to increase their profit while still considering the triple bottom line of sustainability, which involves economic, environmental, and social aspects. There are a lot of studies exploring various aspects of supply chain practices. However, there remains a gap for the proposal of a complete framework concerning various industries. This research fills this gap by studying existing empirical and review studies. Based on a content analysis of 86 studies, 789 practices are derived and categorized, leading to a comprehensive classification of sustainable practices in supply chains. Moreover, the employed methods to analyze the data are investigated. The practices are cross-checked versus the studied industries showing the current sustainable industries. The details of the studied papers are presented in a comprehensive table. The sustainable framework showing the industrial solutions toward sustainable supply chains is divided into 38 minor practices classified into 11 main categories. This paper provides a novel interpretation of the sustainable solutions addressed by different industries and presents a new and updated classification of the literature identifying future directions. This offers many advantages for practitioners and researchers to transform a supply chain into an improved version in the bigger picture.

Industrial growth is one of the consequences of national development. Industrialization certainly has both positive and negative impacts. Environmental concerns, especially environmental damage that occurs due to industrialization, are currently still massive in Sukoharjo Regency. The case of environmental pollution in Sukoharjo has caused serious attention from policy makers to create environmentally based policies such as the application of the concept of environmental governance. This research will discuss the application of robust principles in environmental governance which consists of four aspects, namely Legitimate, Connected, Nested and Polycentric in Sukoharjo Regency Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2023 concerning environmental protection and management. The research method is normative legal research with a descriptive presentation and using a statutory approach. The results of this research show that the Sukoharjo Regency Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2023 concerning environmental protection and management has met the three aspects of the Robust Principle, namely the Legitimate, Connected and Polycentric aspects and has not fulfilled the Nested element.

We conducted a comprehensive review of air emissions resulting from burning wood residues in industrial boilers and potential methods to control these emissions. This report compares average emissions with similar data published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the burning of fossil fuels coal, oil, and natural gas in industrial boilers. As compared with coal or oil combustion, wood combustion in boilers generally leads to lower emissions of trace metals, hydrochloric acid, sulfur dioxide (SO2), and nitrogen oxides (NOx); higher emissions of carbon monoxide, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, and total volatile organic compounds; and comparable emissions of particulate matter and polychlorinated dibenzo-dioxins and -furans (PCDDs/Fs) (both of which are highly dependent on the efficiency of the ultimate particulate matter control device). Most importantly, wood combustion is carbon dioxide-neutral, a distinct advantage over fossil fuel combustion. Firing wood in stoker units with sulfur-containing fuels, such as coal and oil, leads to a reduction in expected SO2 emissions because of the high carbon and alkali content of most wood ash, and cofiring wood with coal also has some benefits for NOx reduction. This report also discusses the generation and types of combustion ashes resulting from wood burning in mostly combination boilers in the United States and Canada, and provides an overview of ash management practices and the salient characteristics of such ashes relative to their trace metal, organic, and PCDD/F contents.

Environmental risk management differs significantly from other types of risk management due to the fact that its particular characteristics reflecting the complexity of the environmentEnvironmental risk management is an integral part of the overall management system. Establishing detailed integration or interaction management system risk management system or environmental management systems implemented by the organization must not lead to increase resources needed for this process.Safety and environmental issues top the agenda remains in the oil and gas companies when it comes to risk management. The essential understanding of production logistics as a separate section of general logistics, which refers to managing material flows within the limits of production activity: from the primary source of raw materials to the final consumer, is generalized. Reserves for increasing the production volume of innovative products have been identified, which are based on a scientifically based methodology for developing measures for their mobilization. The directions of growth of production volumes due to the identified reserves of reducing the cost of production of innovatively active industrial enterprises have been determined. The recommendations for improving the production structure of innovatively active industrial enterprises are substantiated. The main principles of the rational organization of production processes, which should be followed by innovatively active industrial enterprises when planning their production program, are defined and described. It has been proven that innovative and energetic industrial enterprises should focus on increasing the production volume of innovative products and forming the most optimal production program. For this purpose, it is necessary to use such reserves for increasing the volume of production of innovative products, such as improving its quality, reducing costs for the production and sale of products, saving and rational use of funds for the payment of labor and management personnel, implementation of achievements of scientific and technical progress, because of which productivity increases labors. The evolution of ecological-economic relations is reflected by manifestation of instability, lack of equilibrium and imbalance, formality of legal-regulatory acts and other factors of social development. In fact, factors of management of ecological-economic relations aggregate on transformation of social economic development on global (international), national and regional levels. Purpose. To investigate economic and legal aspect of institutional provision of management of ecological-economic relations and, on this basis, to develop the ground for improvement of balanced ecological-economic development of national economy. Methodology. In the process of solving the set tasks the following research methods were used: the dialectical method as a general method of cognition during the research on transformational processes in society, ecological-economic and human development to reveal the tendencies of interaction between man, economy and nature during economic development; theoretical generalisation and comparison; statistical and economic analysis. Findings. The construction of the management process of ecological-economic relations should correspond to both tactical and long-term prospects of economic and social development of the state, taking into account the conditions of transformation of the national economy. To effectively manage ecological-economic relations, it is necessary to take into account a number of prerequisites: first, the needs and interests of consumers; second, the resource potential of the enterprise; third, to follow the development of global technical innovations or technologies in the field of ecological production, and others. The indicated necessitates changes in the management of environmental-economic relations in a rapidly changing external environment, which is represented by the developed scheme of the management process of environmental-economic relations in the conditions of transformation of the national economy. The important factors of the institutional provision of environmental-economic relations management are promotion of mutually beneficial partnership and cooperation, development of social dialogue, introduction of environmental norms and values in accordance with the current regulations. Originality. The essence, internal contradictions and types of ecological-economic relations management are determined; a step-by-step presentation of the strategy for the implementation of environmental and economic relations with the consolidation of efforts in balancing environmental and economic goals is suggested; it is proved that it is essential to cascade environmental-economic relations in the formation of public policy at both horizontal and vertical levels; the focus of environmental-economic relations management is defined, where the coordination of environmental interests with economic interests is the dominant one. Practical value. The results of the study can be used by public authorities, academics and practitioners to develop scenarios for economic development of the national economy and increase the level of economic and environmental efficiency in the management process.

In order to determine the optimal final destination of municipal solid waste, it is necessary to consider both monetary costs and environmental externalities, as well as the local availability of waste-processing industrial infrastructure. The paper examines the results obtained from a technical, economic, and environmental comparison between different scenarios for waste management: in particular, the solutions of gasification and pyrolysis were studied and, afterwards, were compared with direct combustion in incineration plant (from the point of view of the thermal treatment) and final disposal in landfill. In order to perform this analysis, 19 plants operating on full scale were analyzed. The comparison took into account environmental, energy, and economic aspects. From the environmental and energetical point of view, the tool of mass and energy balance was used to address some key environmental aspects. In particular, some indexes were defined in order to perform a comparison among the different analyzed solutions. As concerns the economic point of view, conventional economic criteria were considered. The analysis showed advantages for the examined thermal treatment solutions. The comparison methodology that has been defined can establish a more general useful approach in order to help the definition of the best solution for waste management planning.

The basic terms used in the project are defined and the international and Romanian standards are explained. The results obtained consist in identifying, introducing and describing the processes related to innovation and establishing the interaction of these processes with the other processes of the management system, establishing the policy and objectives related to innovation, reviewing the system procedures and the quality, environmental and occupational health, and safety management manual to include the innovation processes and elaborating the occupational procedures to keep these processes under control. The paper shows the main benefits of the innovation management system and the impact of this system for NRDI ECOIND in several aspects: technical, technological, economic, social, and environmental.

This paper contributes to our understanding of industrial change by developing a crucial area of interface—industrial restructuring and the management of labour. Until recently, labour management has been underrecognised in geographical studies of industrial development and change, yet management decisionmaking and strategic choice permeate all aspects of capital—labour relations. Similarly, spatial dimensions have rarely been acknowledged as an element in labour research. The author adopts a ‘restructuring framework’ which integrates spatial insights from industrial geography with the agency of capitalist management and an investment approach to employment relations. After the study has been situated within the vast literature on coal, the strengths of this joint conceptual approach are demonstrated in the context of the Australian coal industry.

The mechanism of inhibitory effects of microsilica impurities on microsilica dissolution was discovered. The relevance of the work is due to the demand for liquid glass in the enterprises of Central Russia and the lower cost of raw materials, namely sodium silicate, compared with analogues. Waste disposal helps to solve the problems of resource conservation and environmental management. Microslica was studied by differential thermal analysis using a TGA 2 in the temperature range of 20...800 °C with a heating rate of 20 °C/min in air. Modification of microsilica was carried out by mixing with sodium hydroxide with a concentration of 15...25 wt.% at a temperature 20...50 °C with stirring at 600 rpm. The mechanism of formation of by-products with the basis of the obtained data was determined. The greatest contribution to the inhibitory effect on the process of producing liquid glass is made by aluminum ions. The resulting byproduct, hydroalumination sodium is formed in several stages and is catalyzed by sodium silicate. The reduction in the rate of mass transfer and temperature in the modification process of the microsilica reduces the amount of produced byproducts. The mechanism of inhibition of the process of dissolution of microsilica, a byproduct of the production of aluminum fluoride, was determined. The mechanism of the formation byproducts was proposed. The activation energy of the polymerization reaction was obtained. The value of the activation energy is 7.73 kJ/mol, indicates that the synthesis process takes place in the diffuse region. The optimal parameters of physical and chemical modification are determined. Microilica is treated with sodium hydroxide with a concentration of 25 % at a temperature of 20 °C at a speed of 600 rpm.

Under the requirements of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, the value added of Chinese industrial enterprises may face pressure, especially for those with high carbon emissions, where the constraints are more apparent. It is urgent to explore a long-term development path for enterprises to achieve value addition while managing environmental responsibilities effectively. This study conducts an empirical analysis using the unbalanced panel data of 3137 Chinese A-share listed industrial enterprises from 2008 to 2023. It constructs a comprehensive index covering 7 dimensions and 22 indicators to evaluate corporate environmental management capabilities based on three aspects: government policy requirements, corporate management needs, and public social demands. In this study, a dynamic panel differential generalised moment estimation model (dif-GMM) is established to investigate the impact of environmental management capabilities on economic value added. By categorising industrial enterprises into heavily polluting industries and non-heavily polluting industries, the study further investigates the differences in impact. The results show a significant positive correlation between environmental management capabilities and the amount of economic value added, with a stronger correlation for enterprises in heavily polluting industries. The article provides suggestions from government, enterprises, and societal perspectives to promote a virtuous cycle of enhanced environmental management capabilities and value addition, jointly advancing carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

Chernihiv is a large city in the north of Ukraine, which has been the center of socio-cultural and political life of Ukrainians since the times of Kyivan Rus’. Today, it is an industrial and cultural center, an important transport hub. In recent years, positive changes have been observed in the socio-economic development of Chernihiv. The article reveals the main features of urban development. Its tasks and main elements are described. The situation related to the state of air pollution, water resources, including in Chernihiv, was analyzed. The main sources of environmental pollution are described. The problem of solid waste management in the city is considered. Urban noise has been described as a factor in air pollution that adversely affects human health. The effect of insolation within the city is characterized, the consequences and requirements for its consideration in the planning of cities, districts or neighborhoods are indicated. The analysis of the aeration regime of the city territory as a factor influencing the comfort of living in the city is carried out. The role of green plantations is determined, which is an important element of the natural environment and improvement of urban space. Three types of comfort in the city (ecological, social and urban) are described and their main features are pointed out. Our vision of a comfortable city, which should be compact, convenient and polycentric, to provide equal access to benefits to different segments of society, is proposed. The industrial complex and the reasons for the decline in the pace and volume of industrial production in some previously leading industries are described. The main enterprises of Chernihiv that implement modern technological solutions are identified. The transport complex of the city and tendencies of its further development are considered. An analysis of health, education, culture and recreation facilities, as well as the situation in the social sphere of Chernihiv. An analysis of a sociological survey among the city’s residents on the improvement problems which concern residents the most has been carried out. This study showed that the most pressing issues for citizens are garbage removal and household waste management, the problem of heat supply and public transport. An analysis of respondents’ responses revealed that they support positive trends in the creation of new sports and children’s playgrounds, but want these facilities to be within walking distance of their place of residence. Most citizens are satisfied with the work of the city authorities to address the issues of improvement and comfort of Chernihiv, hoping for further positive changes. The paper identifies the priority areas of development of Chernihiv for the coming years. Among them: improving the living standards of the population, improving the environment, further economic growth, increasing employment in the city, updating and creating new quality infrastructure, supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

The results of feasibility analysis on the business plan of herb medicines at Ginsanjaya Pharmacy were such as: (1) The feasibility analysis of industry and market such as : market and marketing aspects were feasible, industrial environment aspects were feasible, economical – social – legal – environmental aspects were feasible, therefore the industrial and market aspects were feasible. Therefore the final conclusion of study was that feasibility analysis on the business plan of herb medicines at Ginsanjaya Pharmacy was passed, was feasible to be realized and operated.
