Abstract (sommario):
Finding a good match in the C-Suite is critical for maximizing business value and capitalizing on competitive advantages. This study analyzes the roles of controllers in organizational descriptions and executives’ profiles, as they both define the position and craft the profession. This paper proposes a framework to describe and classify the existing controller types based on an extended review and description of the available literature. Then, using a clustering method based on the semisupervised k-means, we mapped a sample of 45 controllers to their dominant profile and contrasted individuals’ characteristics against the companies’ definitions of the role. This study reveals that the understanding of the types of controllers, which is usually presented as a dichotomy, may lead to mismatches between what is needed and what is performed. The clustering analysis reveals a significant mismatch between individuals and the organizations defining the role. The framework and clustering method could be used for multiple purposes, such as evaluating what type of controller an individual is or a company needs, which would improve recruitment processes to achieve better matches. The framework expands the identification of controllers from a dichotomy to a gradual classification and describes four controller profiles. This perspective further describes the role and validates the framework using data mining tools.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose To explain and analyze two Enforcement Advisories that set forth the factors the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission Division of Enforcement may consider in assessing cooperation by companies and individuals in the context of CFTC enforcement proceedings. Design/methodology/approach Explains the background, including the 2007 Enforcement Advisory for Companies. Explains the 2017 Enforcement Advisory for Companies and the parallel Enforcement Advisory for Individuals, including policy-based considerations and factors such as the materiality, timeliness, nature, and quality of a company’s cooperation; the value of a company’s cooperation to the Commission’s broader law enforcement interests; and the company’s culpability, culture and other relevant factors. Provides examples of uncooperative conduct. Discusses a broader trend among enforcement authorities in the US and abroad of setting higher cooperation standards. Findings The new Advisories make clear that merely complying with requests for information from the CFTC staff will not be sufficient; a company or individual seeking cooperation credit as part of a resolution with the CFTC must go above and beyond its legal obligations in order to qualify for such credit. Originality/value Practical guidance from experienced white collar defense, regulatory enforcement, civil litigation and arbitration lawyers.

Abstract (sommario):
We analyze the distribution of income and income tax of individuals in Japan for the fiscal year 1998. From the rank-size plots, we find that the accumulated probability distribution of both data obey a power law with a Pareto exponent very close to -2. We also present an analysis of the distribution of the debts owed by bankrupt companies from 1997 to March 2000, which is consistent with a power law behavior with a Pareto exponent equal to -1. This power law is the same as that of the income distribution of companies. Possible implications of these findings for model building are discussed.

Abstract (sommario):
The COVID-19 pandemic has had serious health, social and economic consequences. In this difficult context, companies are called upon to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to support society and the weakest individuals. This study examines how Spanish companies have supported society and vulnerable individuals through partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). In this regard, a multiple case study analysis based on 14 companies listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange that have created collaborations with different NGOs was conducted. The results show that these partnerships are mainly aimed at providing food, health, social and technological support to society and vulnerable individuals. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that examines the support provided by companies to society during the COVID-19 pandemic in the European context.

Abstract (sommario):
The US Corporate Transparency Act ("the CTA") will affect Canadian individuals who control or invest in US companies that are reporting companies under the CTA, including with respect to investments made, or control exercised, indirectly or through blocker corporations. Such individuals may be required to provide their personal information to the US company, and their information would be reported to the US government under the CTA. Moreover, US blocker corporations are likely to be reporting companies under the CTA even if the US companies in which they invest are not reporting companies. The CTA will also require many Canadian companies that register to do business in a US state to report the personal information of their individual beneficial owners and individual control persons. Companies formed or registered prior to 2024 will be required to report by January 1, 2025, and companies formed or registered after 2023 will be required to report within 30 days of formation or registration.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand consumer reactions to security breaches and the best approach for companies to minimize the reputational damage that is done. Design/methodology/approach The authors assessed trust in a company following a data breach as well as perceptions of individual and corporate responsibility for data security and also measured individual personality. Findings The authors found that individuals held companies more responsible for protecting private data and held companies even more responsible following a data breach. Further, perception of responsibility for a data breach significantly affected individuals’ response to a company’s attempt to rebuild trust. Finally, participant personality impacted perceptions of responsibility and trust in a company after a data breach. Research limitations/implications Companies are held more responsible for protecting private data than are individuals. Thus, violation of this expectation insofar as a data breach may result in a psychological contract breach which explains reductions in trust in a company which has experienced a data breach. Further, the effect of company’s responses to a data breach depends on individuals’ perception of responsibility and personality. Thus, the best course of action following a data breach may vary across customers. Practical implications Companies should consider differences in customer perceptions when responding to a data breach. Social implications Individuals differ in how responsible they feel a company is for data security. Further, those differences impact reactions to data breach responses from companies. Originality/value This paper explored personality as it impacts perceptions of corporate responsibility in data security. Further, the authors explore the role of perception of responsibility to determine the role of psychological contract breach in reduced trust after data breach.

The aim of the article is to examine whether there is a difference in the utilization of education among university educated employees in private companies on the one hand and public institutions on the other. The target population of the research was based on a random sample drawn from the National Population Register by the National Survey of the Social Science Research Institute of the University of Iceland from 9 March to 9 April 2016. The survey included 2,001 individuals, aged 18 or above, from all over the country. A total of 1,210 persons responded to the survey. This research only involved those participants in the sample who had completed a university education and were salaried employees in Iceland. After data cleansing, 374 participants remained, 178 males and 196 females. The initial results of the research indicated that 20.3% of participants were over-educated for their jobs. The majority of females work in public companies, while the majority of males work in private companies. Individuals with under-education are most likely to be found within public companies, at the same time as over-educated individuals are most likely to be found in private companies (the difference lies in the under- and over-education of females). Those working in public companies come primarily from educational and health sicences, while engineers and natural sicentists work primarily at private companies. Incomes are higher in private companies.

Abstract (sommario):
Over the past few decades technology has become ubiquitous, with technology companies gaining increasing insight into the lives of individuals. This paper explores how technology companies use these insights to influence the ability to exercise free and independent decision-making. Through a critical analysis of social nudging, I establish the subtle but significant ways in which individuals can be susceptible to manipulation. Through this lens, I highlight some notable examples of how big tech companies have manipulated individual decision-making and the impact this may have on our democracy.

Abstract (sommario):
IKEA is a multinational home furnishing retailer from Sweden. IKEA's brands are found all over the world. However, with introduction of a sustainability strategy developed by the United Nations, IKEA began to integrate its business with a sustainability strategy. However, there are some problems in implementing the sustainability plan: using illegal trees, furniture containing ultra-high levels of formaldehyde emissions, and racist advertising. Selecting the problems in IKEA's sustainability and how to optimize countermeasures can help individuals and companies better understand sustainability while continuously learning from it so that more companies and individuals can comply with sustainability. This paper analyzes IKEA's contribution to sustainability based on case studies and some literature. This analysis will help individuals better understand what this paper is about and align it with sustainability goals. Only by conforming to the sustainable development of society can we better help companies not to be eliminated in sustainable development. In order to help companies better achieve sustainable development, it is important first to make them understand sustainable development.

Abstract (sommario):
Based on the theory of planned behaviour, the present study aims to understand the entrepreneurial intention of individuals linked to companies’ incubators and to observe the influence of the economic context, the individual entrepreneurial orientation, and the incubator’s actions over their entrepreneurial attitude. This work has a quantitative and descriptive approach, with data collected from a structured questionnaire with a 7-point Likert scale. Structural equation modelling was used to test the hypotheses using the SmartPLS software for data analysis. The practical implications point to using concrete correlation evidence among the constructs to explain the intention and the action of individuals linked to companies’ incubators. Therefore, the statistical results proved that the conceptual model adopted was adequate.

Abstract (sommario):
Nowadays, all sources in the reproduction process are easily substituted, thus the most important factors in reaching a competitive advantage are human resources. Talent management is the process oriented to enrich higher the ability of employers to increase their quality and productivity. Globalization has changed the structure of the companies in Slovakia, depending on the size of the company. This paper compares how the size of the company influences the main phases of the talent management process (strategy, identification, assessment, development, retaining). A scaled questionnaire was applied as a tool for data collection in 381 companies operating business in Slovakia. Questionnaire reliability was verified by Cronbach’s alpha. To verify the existence of statistically significant differences between individual groups of respondents, ANOVA was used. We found that the main differences between small and large companies were identified in the phases of talent identification and talent development. In bigger companies, management is more focused on HR plans that include talent identification and acquisition and have more possibilities to develop talented individuals. On the other side we could see that small companies were more successful in the process of retaining the talents. Talented people in small companies are more loyal to the employers and stay in the company for longer periods than talented individuals in large companies.

Abstract (sommario):
At the end of 2008, the European Commission reported to Spain that one of the rules of temporal attribution of incomes stated by its individuals’ income tax law could be qualified as a measure of exit taxation. The Commission invited Spain to amend this provision. As the Spanish authorities did not comply with it, the Commission has decided to refer Spain to the ECJ over restrictive exit tax provisions for individuals. At the same time, the Commission initiated the corresponding infringement proceedings against Sweden, Portugal, and Spain. In its opinion, certain provisions of their corporate income tax laws could be also considered as measures of exit taxation. In fact, the Commission has recently referred Spain to the ECJ for this provision.

Abstract (sommario):
How a company conducts business is often a consumer concern. Individuals have accused company after company of monopolistic behavior. These individuals have also criticized the Department of Justice for not stopping a monopoly from forming in a specific industry. An example is the corn seed industry, where stakeholders have accused companies of monopolistic behavior. Recent mergers and acquisitions in the corn seed industry have left fewer companies in control, and because of this consolidation, individuals are urging the government to act. This Comment argues that, while the corn seed industry is on the road to containing a monopoly, the industry does not yet contain enough characteristics to warrant a government response. However, when a monopoly does form, the government should, and likely will, act.

Abstract (sommario):
Introduction. The development of the information and communication technologies (ICT) market creates the conditions for further growth of other sectors of the economy. ICT companies provide companies, individuals and government with software, Internet, mobile and fixed communications, and so on. The purpose of the article is to study the current state of the ICT market in the world and in Ukraine, to identify major trends and threats for further development of the ICT market. Results. The ICT market is one of the largest dynamically developing markets in the world. Research conducted by leading consulting companies in the world shows that after 2020, the market can grow from 13 to 33 trillion and the blockchain market to 3.1 trillion $. International Data Corporation emphasizes that digital technologies and solutions can reach 60% of global GDP by the end of 2022. The world leader in the number of ICT corporations is the United States, with headquarters of the 65 world's largest companies, 20 in China, Taiwan - 17, Japan - 14, South Korea - 6, India - 5 companies. The IT services market accounts for 0,5% of the global IT services market. In Ukraine there are 125 registered self-employed individuals that are used by large companies to optimize their tax burden. Income of such American ICT companies such as Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft significantly exceeds the size of the state budget of Ukraine, and part of the revenues from the ICT market occupies only 4,5% of GDP, which is clearly insufficient and is evidence of an economic development lag. Conclusions. The imperfection of domestic legislation, the lack of incentives for ICT organizations, the possibility to monopolize the market, the insecurity of the interests of individuals and private companies do not stimulate foreign investments in this sector of the economy. In spite of this, Ukraine has a great potential for its growth, for which it is necessary to develop a national concept and model for the development of the ICT market, to restrain the departure of specialists abroad, to ensure the implementation of the business-state partnership strategy, etc. Keywords: telecommunications market, IT market, telecommunications market and IT services, marketing research, investments, ICT companies.

Many people would see social media as a widespread technique that helps them to relax and search for information. Still, not many would think that it would be a marketing strategy or political skill and would harm people’s mental health in a certain way. However, these are the adverse effects social media would bring to individuals and society without people realizing it. Social media would not only cause addiction, which is one of the few things that people recognize as the negative impact of social media, but it would also cause low self-esteem because people commonly try to find a feeling of importance on the internet, but when things go to a different direction, it will hurt their self-esteem in multiple ways. More uncommonly, advertising companies or politicians would usually use data collecting companies to help them manipulate people’s behavior and use it to make companies’ brand and politicians more influential and use strategies to make themselves seem more trustworthy on social media. This essay is aimed to show how social media is starting to impact individuals and society by using the way of literature review.

Abstract (sommario):
This study examines how Internaet domain names came to be governed by ICANN, a non-governmental, non-profit private international organization, and investigates how domain name disputes are dealt with by its newly adopted UDRP(Uniform Dispute Resolution System). The analysis examines UDRP policy and rules, and empirically assesses the relationship between decisions of the proceedings and the different factors involved. The findings show that UDRP operates in ways that maximize the commercial interests of existing, large companies at the expense of interests of individuals and small, new companies. The current regime, gives priority to preempting intellectual property-related disputes to protect intellectual property rights, rather than coordinating the use of domain names by individuals and companies. In this process, the commercial status quo of the Internet is reinforced, and the Internet is ironically placed under the most centralized control because the UDRP system is forces upon all gTLD domain names. This paper concludes excluding government and relying on private ordering and self-governance for rule making and the procedures of alternative dispute resolution, may be dangerous to individual interests, especially when the role of government is excluded and individuals' participation remains low.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractIn this article we examine the correlation between characteristics of individuals, companies, and industries involved in low-wage labour in Germany and the risks workers face of earning hourly wages that are below the minimum-wage or low-wage thresholds. To identify these characteristics, we use the Structure of Earnings Survey (SES) 2014. The SES is a mandatory survey of companies which provides information on wages and working hours from about 1 million jobs and nearly 70,000 companies from all industries. This data allows us to present the first systematic analysis of the interaction of individual-, company-, and industry-level factors on minimum- and low-wage working in Germany. Using a descriptive analysis, we first give an overview of typical low-paying jobs, companies, and industries. Second, we use random intercept-only models to estimate the explanatory power of the individual, company, and industry levels. One main finding is that the influence of individual characteristics on wage levels is often overstated: Less than 25 % of the differences in the employment situation regarding being employed in minimum-wage or low-wage jobs can be attributed to the individual level. Third, we performed logistic and linear regression estimations to assess the risks of having a minimum- or low-wage job and the distance between a worker’s actual earnings and the minimum- or low-wage thresholds. Our findings allow us to conclude that several determinants related to individuals appear to suggest a high low-wage incidence, but in fact lose their explanatory power once controls are added for factors relating to the companies or industries that employ these individuals.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Background This phase 3b, open label, controlled, multi-center, extension study (NCT02446743) assessed the persistence of bactericidal activity at 4 years post-primary vaccination with a recombinant, 4-component, meningococcal serogroup B vaccine (4CMenB) in adolescents who participated in the parent study NCT01423084 and their response to a booster dose, compared with that in vaccine-naïve healthy controls. Methods Adolescents and young adults previously primed with 4CMenB (2 doses; following a 0,1-month schedule) in study NCT01423084 (group 3B) and vaccine-naïve 15–22 year olds (group B0_1) were enrolled. Group 3B received a booster dose of 4CMenB at 4 years post-primary vaccination; group B0_1 received 2 catch-up doses of 4CMenB (following a 0,1-month schedule). Antibody persistence (primary objective) was evaluated at 4 years post-primary vaccination (in group 3B) vs. baseline (in group B0_1) using human serum bactericidal assay (hSBA), in terms of geometric mean titer (GMT) and percentage (%) of individuals with hSBA titer at least 4. Immune responses at 1 month after booster dose (in group 3B) vs. those at 1 month after first dose (in group B0_1) were also assessed. Results In group 3B, antibody levels declined from 1 month to 4 years post-primary vaccination against all antigens except NHBA, but were higher than in group B0_1 at baseline (Table), with a GMT ratio ≥1.3 and a difference in % of individuals with hSBA titer at least 4 of ≥9%. After one dose of 4CMenB (booster in 3B or first dose in B0_1), GMTs increased (≥4.6-fold in group 3B; ≥2.3-fold in group B0_1), and ≥94% of participants in group 3B and ≥41% of participants in group B0_1 had hSBA titer at least 4 (Table). Conclusion Antibody levels in adolescents and young adults primed with 4CMenB waned over time but were higher at 4 years post-primary vaccination than for vaccine-naïve individuals at baseline. A booster dose of 4CMenB in vaccine-primed individuals elicited higher immune responses than one dose of 4CMenB in vaccine-naïve individuals. Obtaining information about your genes can be as easy as swabbing your cheek for DNA testing. Companies that offer direct-to-consumer genetic testing with saliva have the authority to collect and share personal data as well as test results from their clients. However, patients want their personal information to be protected and although these companies ask for consent before sharing information with third-party sources, companies have the right to use client data to initiate research or improve their business. Genetic testing companies need to respect their clients and understand that they are paying for a service which deals with sensitive information that individuals may not want collected and stored.

Abstract (sommario):
The article discusses the features of the application by the Russian Federation and the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Republics of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, mechanisms of tax incentives for the development of the domestic IT industry. Tax incentives, a simplified taxation system and the taxation regime in the territory of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ), High-Tech Park (HTP) are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the consideration of the procedure for access and accreditation of companies for the opportunity to work in the territory of the SEZ or HTP with the use of a preferential tax regime. The article concludes that states as a whole apply all tax incentive mechanisms in a complex: tax incentives, a simplified taxation system, SEZ, HTP, however, there are differences in their use, which ultimately affects the level of stimulation of domestic IT industries. Russia uses a selective and differentiated approach, that is why most companies in the field are cut off from the preferential tax regime. The EAEU countries have developed more positive experience in this matter due to the simplification of the registration procedure required to enter the preferential zones, both for domestic and foreign IT companies and the admission to the HTP and SEZ of individuals specialists. The access of foreign companies from friendly countries as residents in the territory of the Russian SEZ will facilitate the introduction of new information technologies and the exchange of experience with domestic companies. The thesis is also substantiated that for a holistic and systematic stimulation of the development of the domestic IT industry, it seems inappropriate to differentiate companies into Software Company (companies specializing in high technologies) and companies not specializing in such technologies. Special attention is drawn to the need to expand the list of types of IT-activities that provide access to domestic companies to the mechanism of preferential taxation. The article notes that the experience of tax incentives for the IT industry in the EAEU countries shows that the approach used makes it possible to unite the majority of domestic companies and specialists — individuals in the territory of a separate free economic zone or HTP, that is beneficial both for the companies themselves and individuals from — for preferential taxation, and to the state, which keeps them records and records of their IT products and discoveries. In the Russian Federation IT companies, unless they are included in the SEZ, are fragmented and more difficult to control in this sense. In general, it is concluded that in Russia it is necessary to ensure the uniform application of tax incentives for the domestic IT industry throughout the territory, which will contribute to its development and growth of competitiveness in the international market.

Abstract (sommario):
Trust in social media information is gaining in importance and relevance for both companies and individuals as nowadays contemporary society is confronted with a wave of fake news about daily life situations, brands, organizations, etc. As it becomes more difficult to accurately assess social media information and to determine its origin or source, as well as to be able to double-check information spread across different Social Networking Sites (SNS), businesses must understand how individuals’ perceived control, concentration, and time distortion enhances the social media usage, thus allowing them to correctly assess online information. Therefore, the scope of the paper is to assess, based on a conceptual model, the antecedents of trust in online information about companies by considering users’ perceived control, concentration, and time distortion, while browsing social media networks and sharing fake news about companies in SNS. With the help of an online survey, data was collected from social media users, later being analysed with SmartPLS. The findings suggest that social media usage and sharing of fake news mediate the relationship between users’ perceived control, concentration, and time distortion (i.e., flow characteristics) and trust in online information about companies.

Abstract (sommario):
A data breach is the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive personal data, and it impacts millions of individuals annually in the United States, as reported by Privacy Rights Clearinghouse. These breaches jeopardize the physical safety of the individuals whose data are exposed and result in substantial economic losses for the affected companies. To diminish the frequency and severity of data breaches in the future, it is imperative to research their causes and explore preventive measures. In pursuit of this goal, this study considers a dataset of data breach incidents affecting companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. This dataset has been augmented with additional information regarding the targeted company. This paper employs statistical visualizations of the data to clarify these incidents and assess their consequences on the affected companies and individuals whose data were compromised. We then propose mitigation controls based on established frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Additionally, this paper reviews the compliance scenario by examining the relevant laws and regulations applicable to each case, including SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, and PCI-DSS, and evaluates the impacts of data breaches on stock market prices. We also review guidelines for appropriately responding to data leaks in the U.S., for compliance achievement and cost reduction. By conducting this analysis, this work aims to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of data breaches and empower organizations to safeguard against them proactively, improving the technical quality of their basic services. To our knowledge, this is the first paper to address compliance with data protection regulations, security controls as countermeasures, financial impacts on stock prices, and incident response strategies. Although the discussion is focused on publicly traded companies in the United States, it may also apply to public and private companies worldwide.

Abstract (sommario):
It is no different that commercial work was at its beginning a simple work done by individuals (natural persons), then it increased in expansion in size and territory until merchants were able to introduce the denominations system, and with the beginnings of the emergence of commercial companies, the commercial law focused on small projects for private individuals, under the influence of the general provisions of the law The civil (individuals law) where the state extracted from them the organization of large projects for fear of the tyranny of large merchants over the systems of government, so the joint stock companies were organized as they require huge sums in the form of decrees, and perhaps this influence still exists although it has become less severe in our time. The Committee on International Trade Law of the United Nations has called on more than one occasion to pay attention to small traders through the approach of "thinking on a small scale first" and called on developing countries in particular to include, recognize and support them in the various legal texts regulating them. It goes without saying that the Algerian commercial law is the regulator of the principles and rules of trade with all its actors: merchants, their obligations, commercial activities, etc. However, these principles and texts are often general without specification (registration in the commercial registry, commercial and accounting bookkeeping...) as they apply to all Merchants without specifying, and the special legal texts regulating commercial life have recently known accelerating rates. Or is it not fair to reconsider this generality by adopting legal texts for small traders, individuals or companies, with regard to obligations? With an explanation of how? Is this legislative richness or is it a place of contradiction and contradiction of provisions? Accordingly, the researcher suggests the need to reconsider the provisions of the Algerian commercial law by granting privacy to this category in terms of activity, incorporation, reduction or exemption from obligations and the proposed alternatives? As well as the privileges thatmay be enjoyed by small traders, individuals and companies,to develop their activity in support of the national economy, and to call on the Algerian legislator to recognize the individual small trader and strengthen the position of the small trader as a legal person, while ensuring that the texts governing small and emerging commercial companies meet the principles of governance

Abstract (sommario):
In recent years, online direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical companies have been created as an alternative method for individuals to get prescription medications. While these companies have noble aims to provide easier, more cost-effective access to medication, the fact that these companies both issue prescriptions (via entirely online medical reviews that can have no direct contact between physician and patient) as well as distribute and ship medications creates multiple ethical concerns. This paper aims to explore two in particular. First, this model creates conflicts of interest for the physicians hired by these companies to write prescriptions. Second, the lack of direct contact from physicians may be harmful to prospective patients. After analysing these issues, this paper argues that there ought to be further consideration for regulation and oversight for these companies.

Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT The passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Dodd-Frank Acts created a unique environment for whistleblowing at public companies. SOX requires public companies to establish anonymous reporting channels, and Dodd-Frank outlines substantial monetary incentives for reporting securities law violations directly to the SEC. In response to these provisions, this study examines whether the type of securities law violation (fraudulent financial reporting versus insider trading), individuals' psychological assessments of the wrongdoing, and individuals' monetary attitude influence intentions to report to an internal hotline and to the SEC. We find internal reporting is driven by increased perceptions of responsibility to report a wrongful act, whereas external reporting to the SEC is driven by increased perceptions of seriousness regarding the wrongful act. Finally, we find that individuals' attitude toward money explains reporting intentions; however, we do not find any evidence that monetary attitude leads to increased reporting to the SEC. Abstract (sommario):
The phenomenon of the data deluge is a reality and the volume of data produced by people and companies is much greater than what can be handled and analyzed. Data play a crucial role in guiding the efficient utilization of technological resources for companies, aiding them in product and service management. Moreover, individuals who have become adept data producers and consumers are increasingly orienting their lives toward data. To address this evolving trend, there is a growing imperative to educate Computing professionals. These professionals are required to design technology solutions that facilitate the synergy between individuals and data, a phenomenon known as Human-Data Interaction (HDI). This paper introduces a suggested minimum syllabus for HDI courses, with the aim of addressing the key themes associated with the interaction between individuals and data. The complexity and depth of HDI topics justify a dedicated course, preventing the risk of essential content being fragmented or inadequately covered if dispersed across different courses.
