Li, Lei. "Hydrogen supply chain design". Thesis, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020UBFCA005.
Testo completoThis thesis contributes to the deployment of the hydrogen infrastructures by proposing new strategies based on optimization approaches. A state of the art on the design of the hydrogen supply chain has been previously carried out, and allows to identify in the literature two research perspectives. The first one concerns the coverage of the entire supply chain, on the one hand upstream at the level of the location of raw material suppliers and the supply of production centres (transport aspect), and on the other hand downstream at the level of the location of distribution points (refueling stations) and their supply (transport). To integrate these components, a new planning model is developed. It merges the classical models, more precisely an HSCND (Hydrogen Supply Chain Network Design) model at the central level, i.e. at the level of production and storage, and an HSRP (Hydrogen Refueling Station Planning) model at the end of the chain, which considers distribution. This new model also integrates the consideration of supply sources. It is expressed as a mixed number integer linear program, with the objective of minimizing the least cost of hydrogen (LCOH). Its interest is validated by a case study representing Franche-Comté in France. The second research area explored is the integration of the strategic and tactical decision-making levels. The aim is to simultaneously optimize the location of refueling stations and the routes to supply these stations, by considering as actuated the decisions previously taken from the supply sources to the hydrogen production centers. The objective is to maximize the refueling demand flow captured, while minimizing the total daily cost. Two metaheuristic algorithms are developed to solve this problem, one based on an adaptive large neighbourhood search, the other on a genetic algorithm. The proposed model and algorithms are applied to the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in France

Testo completoThis thesis aims to investigate guanxi’s impact on supply chain management. As a first step, we historically review guanxi’s evolution and discuss its impacts on business performance. Next, by using data from qualitative interviews and a quantitative survey collected from Chinese buyers in France, this thesis creates a guanxi measurement scale for Sino-Franco buyer-supplier relationship, and reveals that guanxi’s positive impact on supply chain performance is mediated by supply chain collaboration. Furthermore, through draw on the survey data of 200 Chinese manufacturers with overseas business, this thesis demonstrates that the mediated relationship between guanxi and supply chain performance is moderated by individual culture. Our research results not only empirically prove guanxi’s importance in the international market, but also uncover that the effectiveness of different types of guanxi that depends on the partner’s cultural orientation

Testo completoBased on a triple observation, namely the importance of Supply Chain Management approach in the management, the necessary taking into account of the culture for the implementation of this approach and a first impression of the accordance between the Chinese culture and the SCM, our research aims to analyze the SCM implementation in the Chinese cultural context. The first part of this resarch is designed for a litterature review which allows defining behavioral conditions for SCM implementation, analyzing the concept of culture as well as Chinese cultural elements, and then putting forward theoretical propositions and constructing a conceptual model. The second part intends developping the methodology of Management Science and explaining our choices of research methods mobilized in empirical analysis. After that, we realize the fieldwork through a qualitative analysis of dates collected from semi-directive interviews and a long period observation.Based on these analyses, we conclude that Chinese cultural elements positively correlate with conditions for SCM and the Chinese culture is a favorable context for SCM implementation

Testo completoWe address three different allocation problems for which the literature tends to ignore the complex nature of their objective. The problems under study fall under two different contexts of non-profit and commercial operations. The first part of the dissertation investigate the allocation of scarce resources in humanitarian organizations, given the marginally decreasing contribution of investment on the beneficiaries welfare. The main objective in this part is to maximize the well-being of people. Chapter 2 studies the decision making in a humanitarian organization regarding the procurement and utilization of operational assets in a dynamic setting, to minimize people’s suffering. Chapter 3 investigates the budgeting decisions by an international humanitarian organization in order to maximize the overall utility from their operations around the globe. The second part of the dissertation, studies the Modular Hub Location Problem, for which the objective concerns minimization of the transportation cost. We propose two different approaches to overcome the complex nature of the problem in order to achieve solutions of higher quality. Chapter 4 proposes a modeling simplification by replacing the stepwise cost function with a best-fit linear approximation, which allows to solve larger instances using exact solution approaches. Chapter 5, on the other hand, develops an efficient heuristic that can solve large problem instances with small optimality gaps in a short period of time

Testo completoSupply chain management involves a wide range of activities. Among most of them, uncertainty exists inherently and always brings some consequence not expected. However, uncertainty is not considered much in conventional supply chain management. In the case where availability of resources is not what we expect, complexity of supply chain management increases. Taking constraints of uncertainty and availability into account, we aim to discuss supply chain management from different aspects. This thesis is an attempt of systematic and complete research from this point and we would like to offer some references to researchers and managers in supply chain. We focus on three classic sources of uncertainty: demand, manufacturing and distribution. For each source of uncertainty, we analyze its cause and its impact to the performance of the supply chain. Uncertainty is specified into concrete classic problem and an approach is proposed to solve it. Furthermore, bi-level newsboy problem as a miniature of supply chain, is focused under double uncertain environment. Treating uncertain variables is actually a treatment on operational level. The methods used offer good demonstration in treating uncertain variables in decision problems

Testo completoThis thesis contributes to the debate on how uncertainty and concepts of sustainable development can be put into modern supply chain network and focuses on issues associated with the design of multi-criteria supply chain network under uncertainty. First, we study the literature review , which is a review of the current state of the art of Supply Chain Network Design approaches and resolution methods. Second, we propose a new methodology for multi-criteria Supply Chain Network Design (SCND) as well as its application to real Supply Chain Network (SCN), in order to satisfy the customers demand and respect the environmental, social, legislative, and economical requirements. The methodology consists of two different steps. In the first step, we use Geographic Information System (GIS) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to buildthe model. Then, in the second step, we establish the optimal supply chain network using Mixed Integer Linear Programming model (MILP). Third, we extend the MILP to a multi-objective optimization model that captures a compromisebetween the total cost and the environment influence. We use Goal Programming approach seeking to reach the goals placed by Decision Maker. After that, we develop a novel heuristic solution method based on decomposition technique, to solve large scale supply chain network design problems that we failed to solve using exact methods. The heuristic method is tested on real case instances and numerical comparisons show that our heuristic yield high quality solutions in very limited CPU time. Finally, again, we extend the MILP model presented before where we assume that the costumer demands are uncertain. We use two-stage stochastic programming approach to model the supply chain network under demand uncertainty. Then, we address uncertainty in all SC parameters: opening costs, production costs, storage costs and customers demands. We use possibilistic linear programming approach to model the problem and we validate both approaches in a large application case

Testo completoThe purpose of the present research is to find out the conditions which enable a logistics service provider to act as a middleman in a supply chain in the context of sustainable development. Face with regulation pressures concerning electric and electronic equipment waste and the various reactions of the actors responsible for recycling, the research develops two phases : the first, in Norway, provides a reading guide of the general context ; the second, in France, consists in a typical case study which involves many interacting actors and emphasizes the intermediary role of the provider. The results depend on the mobilization of skills in the field of thinking, organizing and relating to one another, and also imply the smooth implication of the stakeholders. These results should demonstrate that the logistics service provider who offers help in the field of global responsability can actually act as an intermediary in the context of sustainable development. Provided he or she takes into account all the parties involved and brings together the required abilities for coordinate management of the supply chain

Testo completoThe Humanitarian supply Chain is a key element to enhance a performing response to humanitarian crisis. Because of the internal and external pressure, Humanitarian Organizations (HO) has done efforts during last decades to improve the crisis response in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. However, the performance is challenged by the increasing gap between funding and needs. The main donors ask for more transparency and accountability. Moreover, the pressure from the international community is pushing HO to integrate Sustainability challenges on a near future. Is in this context, and field research results, that the difficulties to consider sustainability on HSC decision-making. The lack of Decision Support Systems and a sustainability culture specific to the HSC have been identified as break to improve the planning of sustainable humanitarian operations. This research work seeks to introduce the sustainability notion to the management of the HSC. The approach followed is the development of a decision support system based on performance, to plan the HSC operations. Three research directions have been explored: (a) How to gather an exhaustive knowledge of a HSC, for both field research and development of DSS? The proposed contribution is a Meta-Model of the HSC, for field research porpoise and for developing adequate Decision Support Systems. (b) What sustainability means in HSC context? Based on a literature review and field research, a framework is established to define the HSC sustainable performance. (c) How to make sustainable decisions during humanitarian response? This contribution is based on an Operational Research Algorithm, which permits to integrate the sustainable performance on decision making with an interactive approach. The thesis illustrates the three contributions with use cases based on the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC)

Testo completoThis research in doctorate degree rely on the law N°94/01 of 20th January 1994 bringing the forests regime, which compel the enterprises of exploitations of forests in Cameroon to realize henceforth, the first level of transformation of woods locally. The signature of passage to the industry in sector of the Xylo-industry imposes then, a structural changing of the initial channel of transformation of tropical woods going out from Cameroon. This structural changing causes a logistical problem which retains the attention of researchers. The circulation of the flows between the industries of the first localized transformation in Cameroon and the second industrials transformation localized in the developed countries should have intensified and the logistics demands will become stronger. How does one succeed the integration of channel between the enterprises of a developening country and that of developed countries? The objective of this research is to understand the functioning of the xylo-industry in Cameroon to reach at the actionable propositions centered on the logistics and the SMC. To reach it, a diagnosis of difficulties was realized by the three categories of actors which have been identified. It has been rely on a study of unique case. A literature review around the logistic of SMC and the Global value chains was judicious for better comprehension of our research. The propositions of elaborated research from the literature have been putting into test the facts towards the enterprises of the first industrial transformation in Cameroon by a questionnaire. In conclusion, an amelioration of logistic management in the enterprises of the industry of the first transformation of woods in Cameroon is an indispensable condition of their integration in the global value chains

Testo completoThis thesis focuses on the development of a mathematical model and optimization algorithms for the design of a supply chain integrating financial dimensions. We propose a capacitated, multi-period, single-echelon, single-product model. The objective function to be maximized is the firm's value, represented by its Adjusted Present Value (APV). The decision binary variables are related to the location of logistics facilities; the continuous variables concern product flows and debt planning. The mathematical model is first evaluated by solving a set of generated instances using a state-of-the-art solver. We propose a sequential approach, consisting in optimizing the logistic variables first, then the financial variables. Then, we propose an optimization procedure based on the Large Neighborhood Search (LNS) metaheuristic to solve larger instances. Finally, consider the logistic and financial dimensions as two independent objectives. The multi-directional local search (MDLS) is employed to solve the bi-objective model by embedding the LNS into that framework. Extensive numerical experiments assess the relevance of our model and compare the performance of our algorithms to those of the solver

Testo completoIn this thesis, we acknoledge that the performance of emergency patients flow could be highered. We propose to explore an original function of management tools. Indeed particularly in the public sector, management tools are mainly used to conform the organizations to the representation of a central deciding actor, disconnected from the field, which leads to a low degree of freedom of local workers. We use tools from lean and supply-chain managements respectively in a stroke care chain and a local emergency care chain to prove that management tools can "generate" more performing alternative organizations. This thesis proposes two kinds of findings. Firstly on the opening of the functions of management tools. Secondly on emergency healtcare supply chains, for which specificities compared to classical healthcare supply chains imply original management rules and functions

Sustainability has been getting increasingly more attention in our current society. Even though it's often reduced to its environmental dimension, sustainability must be taken into account in its social and financial dimensions. In companies, this theme it's becoming more and more important, wether it's to become more efficient or to get a better reputation for the company. Supply chain it's a critical part of firms being able to introduce sustainable practices, since these practices have relevant repercussions and effects in every part of the company. These effects and repercussions are felt by all the parties interested in the company - the stakeholders. These parties have expectations as to how companies are going to act and they are going to exert pressure on the companies. Stakeholder's interest in sustainability and its intervention in supply chain matters has been widely discussed by several authors. Stakeholders can exert pressure on companies so that they can adopt sustainable practices in supply chain management. The purpose of this study is to make an analysis on the existing literature through content analysis methodology and comprehend if sustainable supply chain management is important to company's stakeholders.

Pezeshki, Yahya. "Coordination mechanisms in supply chain by contracts". Thesis, Lyon, INSA, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013ISAL0026.
Testo completoIn decentralized Supply Chains, each member decides based on his own interests. Conflict of interests results in suboptimal decisions and poor performance for entire supply chains, as well seriously harms credibly information sharing across them. In this thesis, coordination of decisions in supply chains in the context of Capacity Procurement problem are studied in different situations in form of three models. In first model, a dyadic supply chain with stochastic demand and exogenous price is investigated by taking various costs into account. PARD and RCRS contracts are designed and proposed in order for coordination of decisions respectively in full and partial information updating situations. It is mathematically shown that coordination is achieved by using each contract in its corresponding situation. In second model, endogenous price is assumed. That is, demand is modeled as sum of a decreasing linear function of price and a stochastic parameter. The model is first examined in a dyadic structure, and RSRP contract is proposed for coordinating of price, production time and production rate decisions. It is proved that coordination is achieved by RSRP contract in the dyadic structure. The application of RSRP contract is then extended to be employed in a divergent supply chain with multiple retailers, and shown that the supply chain performs considerably better than the same supply chain with a wholesale contract. In third model, a divergent supply chain comprising a supplier and multiple retailers is studied where retailers face stochastic and price-dependent demand. Since main decision makers in supply chain interactions are human, paying attention to human decision making process and their biases from theoretical predictions are important in designing coordination mechanisms. One of the non-pecuniary factors which cause deviations in human-decisions is Trust. In this model, the retailers have more accurate demand forecast information due to their proximity to market. In order to secure availability of products during the selling season, the retailers have incentives to inflate their private forecast information. A coordination mechanism is proposed, which consists of an optimization model, a scoring system and a rewarding-punishing system, in order to coordinate the supply chain. Using simulation approach, performance of the mechanism is then compared to those of two other mechanisms, namely Without Trust an Asymmetric mechanism. According to the results, employing the mechanism in situations with any demand variability is advised. More accurately, in situations with high demand variability, the mechanism achieves a proper profit improvement and moderate capability for identifying deceptive agents, while in situations with low demand variability, the mechanism shows insignificant profit improvement and considerable ability in identifying deceptive agents

Testo completoOur research addresses the problem of designing a multi-level supply chain, while taking into consideration the product life cycle. By product life cycle, we mean the succession of the four marketing stages that a product goes through since its introduction to the market and until it will be removed from. All products have a life cycle which can be classified into four discrete stages: introduction, growth, maturity and decline.Depending on the product life cycle phases, and based on a thorough analysis of the different supply chain potential actors, this study aims to establish mathematical models to design an efficient supply chain network. Three main models have been developed in this thesis. The first proposed model aims to design a product-driven supply chain with a minimal total cost, taking into consideration the evaluation of the different potential actors effectiveness, according to several criteria (cost, quality, innovation, quality service, timely delivery, ...).A second model was developed to design of a sustainable supply chain network, taking into account the product life cycle. In this model, three different objectives at the time were considered, namely, an economic objective, an environmental objective and a social objective. In the two previous models, we have assumed that the product has a classical life cycle. However, in the reality this is not always the case. Indeed, some products have very atypical life cycles, whose curves are very different from the classical one. To tackle this problem, in the third part of this thesis, we propose a stochastic model to design a robust supply chain network, taking into account the different product life cycle scenarios

Testo completoIrrespective of significant performance achieved, today’s logistics networks are overwhelmingly dedicated to an actor and therefore poorly interconnected. This fragmentation exhibits inevitable inefficiency and needs to be changed in respond to today’s new arising challenges in efficiency and resilience. To solve this antagonism, an innovative concept - Physical Internet (PI) - has been proposed which is a fully interconnected, open, dynamic logistics system. In such a system, the facilities and means of transportation can be dynamically organized and allocated in the short-term or long-term according to the economic environment. As a result, decisions can be made dynamically, agilely, and thus optimally. This thesis studies the perspectives of the PI to inventory management and transportation regarding the challenges in efficiency and resilience. As the efficiency of the PI to transportation has been carried out in literature, the first objective of this thesis is to explore the potentials of the PI to inventory management. To this end, we firstly qualitatively examine the new practices brought by the PI and conclude three main characteristics: 1) Distributed stocks near end customers; 2) Transshipment of inventories; and 3) multiple dynamic source options. Corresponding inventory models and solutions are proposed and evaluated with numerical experiments in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). This part of study gives a guideline for the vendors applying the PI to make inventory decisions in such an open logistic system. The second objective is to analyze the resilience of the proposed PI enabled inventory and transportation model confronted to disruptions. The proposed inventory and transportation model are extended with different disruptions at facilities including plants and hubs. Different disruption strategies are developed. Numerical studies in FMCG are carried out.In a word, this research investigates the inventory management in the PI and the resilience of PI enabled logistics models. It is the first time such a work is done and it should be upfront. From the results of studies, there is no doubt that the PI changes today’s supply chains design and improve the performance of supply chain management both in efficiency, effectiveness and resilience

Testo completoS&OP is often seen as a process for alignment between supply and demand in simple, linear supply chains with one market and one factory. Multinational firms today have more complex supply chain configurations that have specialized factories serving multiple markets. This research explores how multinational companies configure their S&OP governance linking factories and markets and the influence this governance bas on their ability to obtain alignment between supply, demand and financial plans. Through company interviews, a typology for observed S&OP governance models is developed., and suggests that an S&OP governance type exerting authority simultaneously into both factories and markets leads to more successful S&OP outcomes. A link is also drawn between S&OP effectiveness and forma! policies for alignment with financial planning. From this, elements of Management Control are deployed as a framework to furthering S&OP conceptualization by recognizing the influence of accounting on S&OP governance in achieving transparency and multi-functional engagement in multinational supply chain contexts. The result is four normative rules for successful S&OP governance and alignment within a multinational supply chain configuration context

Testo completoNowadays, a highly competitive environment makes of the service level impact a fundamental element for formerly production oriented companies. Global supply chain thinking gives a new impetus to transversal missions such as logistics management. This thesis is nothing but an illustration of this new philosophy within the Saint-Gobain group, which has decided to create an operations research group to identify and solve high potential optimization problems. After a brief overview of our approach, we discover in chapter 1 a synthesis of the Saint-Gobain Glass business -producing, adding value and delivering at glass- and the various decisions that make the supply chain management a very complex task. Following chapters present optimization problems that we identified as key ones. First of all, we define in chapter 2 a model to handle the yearly standard product determination, based on the economic trade-off between the glass loss along the vertically integrated supply chain and the management cost of various references. Other chapters aim at introducing an original global method for modelling complex industrial supply chains, fully presented in chapter 6. To do so, we study successively the definition and localization of facilities in chapter 3 and the modelling ofproduction processes: chapter 4 introduces our production planning model and illustrates it on the at glass production, whereas chapter 5 presents the complementary work required to apply it to transformation lines. Finally, chapter 6 deals with the synthesis of all these works into a unique mixed integer linear program. Our research is the result of a successful collaboration between academics and industrials

Testo completoThis thesis addresses the topic of supply chain agility. Our work is carried out with professionals of the Supply Chain Management Chair of Centralesupelec that includes four industrial groups (Sanofi, Safran LVMH And Carrefour). We propose qualitative and quantitative approaches allowing to evaluate and improve agility, in the context of an end-to-end supply chain. First, we identify different situations that may affect the supply chain activity and that need to be treated rapidly (i.e. situations needing agility: SNA) as well as tools and methods allowing to respond to such situations (i.e. agility levers). We end up with two lists of situations needing agility and agility levers. Using the two lists, we build an agility matrix that allows to evaluate qualitatively the agility of a supply chain. Secondly, aiming to evaluate quantitatively supply chain agility, we define two new metrics that allow to assess the agility of a supply chain facing an SNA.To calculate these metrics, we propose a supply chain model that integrates parameters related to the physical and information flows such as production and transportation capacities and lead times, frozen planning horizons, safety stocks, etc. As another contribution, we develop an optimization model, implemented using CPLEX, that optimizes supply chain agility, taking into account financial constraints. Finally, we present a process for the evaluation and improvement of supply chain agility that is based on the different tools developed. The process includes eight steps going from the identification of a critical situation needing agility, to the validation of the actions to put in place to improve the agility of the supply chain facing it. Various theoretical and real cases studies are presented in the manuscript allowing to illustrate models and tools developed in this work

Testo completoThis research proposes a strategic analysis of the proximity heuristic in the specific context of the French aeronautical supply chain. From the theoretical perspective, this study enriches the knowledge on theories that integrate the physical space as a strategic element in a firms’ business model. Therefore, proximity strategies are based on a network principle, whereas proximities are considered as an accessible resource that facilitates the relation. Considering that, these proximities should be measured, monitored and managed. This thesis investigates from an empirical perspective, tier 2 and lower suppliers in the « Auvergne » aeronautical supply chain. The study branches into two methodologies: the first utilizes the qualitative methodology of content analysis to: (1) identify proximities and what they represent to the participants, (2) observe the effects of proximities, (3) measure frequency of proximities occurence. The second utilizes the Partial Least Square (PLS) quantitative methodology to (4) adapt, test and validate a measurement scale of proximity in the context of the French aeronautical supply chain, (5) convey that strategies of proximities differ in relation to the nature of the relationship. This research highlights that management of proximities depends on the intent of the decision-maker and their role in the supply chain

The conceptual model is built on the transaction cost theory and the ressource-based view. It is tested empirically on the Eurocopter group, using a quantitative monography of this aeronautics firm. Five inter-organizational control modes are then identified through a cluster analysis ; they range from social control to formal control. Dimensions of transactions, trust and types of intégration appear to be explanatory variables of these control modes

In an increasingly more changeable and unpredictable business environemt, where competition assumes global scales, companies needs to look for new ideas, new tools and new methods, with the objective to perfect the management process and to continuously improve it´s performance. Supply chain management seeks to enhance competitive performance by closely integrating company internal functions and linking them with external operations of suppliers and customers. This scenario demands reviewing concepts such as performance measurement, a base element of the mangement process. So the search for mechanisms to evaluate activities and operations in an objective way in the actual and future context of the supply chain becomes fundamental. It is in this context, that key performance indicators become eficient tools of measurement. The purpose of this dissertation is, on one hand, the understanding of the model and on the other to assimilite the concept of performance in the supply chain. Allowing the understandig of Performance Measurement models associated with Supply Chain Management. This work presents a literature review on the fields of Supply chain management and on Performance Measurement Systems. Through a case study in a business environement, an approach of the suitable metrics to evaluate supply chain is analysed, in order to carachterize the actual state of performance in the company studied and to develop a framework of metrics, based on the literature research and presented in this work. Nevertheless the implementation of this framework is not a goal of this work, but instead this should be a qualitative and strategic study.

Abstract: The milk supply chain is made up of products that integrate the supply chain from the raw material to the final distribution of the product to the end customer. This organization has an economic and social building base for the country or region. Thus, a strategy option is not only an advantage for the producer, such as the increase of profitability, market competitiveness, management performance of companies, but also the managerial impact on society, such as the generation of new jobs. This paper aims to analyze what are the main bottlenecks of the milk and milk industry of small farmers in the Tupã / SP region. Therefore, is necessary It is necessary to explore the impacts suffered by the producers, the lack of support and guidance for them to be able to conduct and efficiently manage their property. The study presents the applied method in the search fields, descriptive, with a qualitative approach, on the survey form, of general studies predominated closed to use the scale of Likert. The result of the collection was presented through the correspondence analysis. These results demonstrated bottlenecks in the supply chain, based on the eight pillars of the LSCM approach, namely: Information Technology Management, Input Supplier Management, Waste Disposal, Production, Customer Relationship Management, Logistics Management, Owners Commitment, and Continuous Improvement. Testo completoThis thesis develops optimization methods for Supply Chain Management and is focused on the flexibility defined as the ability to deliver a service or a product to a costumer in an uncertain environment. The research was conducted throughout a partnership between Argon Consulting, which is an independent consulting firm in Supply Chain Operations and the École des Ponts ParisTech. In this thesis, we explore three topics that are encountered by Argon Consulting and its clients and that correspond to three different levels of decision (long-term, mid-term and short-term).When companies expand their product portfolio, they must decide in which plants to produce each item. This is a long-term decision since once it is decided, it cannot be easily changed. More than a assignment problem where one item is produced by a single plant, this problem consists in deciding if some items should be produced on several plants and by which plants. This is motivated by a highly uncertain demand. So, in order to satisfy the demand, the assignment must be able to balance the workload between plants. We call this problem the multi-sourcing of production. Since it is not a repeated problem, it is essential to take into account the risk when making the multi-sourcing decision. We propose a generic model that includes the technical constraints of the assignment and a risk-averse constraint based on risk measures from financial theory. We develop an algorithm and a heuristic based on standard tools from Operations Research and Stochastic Optimization to solve the multi-sourcing problem and we test their efficiency on real datasets. Before planning the production, some macroscopic indicators must be decided at mid-term level such as the quantity of raw materials to order or the size of produced lots. Continuous-time inventory models are used by some companies but these models often rely on a trade-off between holding costs and setups costs. These latters are fixed costs paid when production is launched and are hard to estimate in practice. On the other hand, at mid-term level, flexibility of the means of production is already fixed and companies easily estimate the maximal number of setups. Motivated by this observation, we propose extensions of some classical continuous-time inventory models with no setup costs and with a bound on the number of setups. We used standard tools from Continuous Optimization to compute the optimal macroscopic indicators. Finally, planning the production is a short-term decision consisting in deciding which items must be produced by the assembly line during the current period. This problem belongs to the well-studied class of Lot-Sizing Problems. As for mid-term decisions, these problems often rely on a trade-off between holding and setup costs. Basing our model on industrial considerations, we keep the same point of view (no setup cost and a bound on the number of setups) and propose a new model. Although these are short-term decisions, production decisions must take future demand into account, which remains uncertain. We solve our production planning problem using standard tools from Operations Research and Stochastic Optimization, test the efficiency on real datasets, and compare it to heuristics used by Argon Consulting's clients

Testo completoSupply Chain Management (SCM) has been a theme in evidence in the present day in seeking competitive advantages, which are being sought not within the limits of companies, but in the supply chain (SC) scope, through intercompany initiatives, that extend from controls and inventory replenishment to a collaborative SCM. One of the major challenges in SCM is to develop a Supply Chain Coordination (SCC) that in addition to meeting the desired service levels with inventory levels controlled should also be able to handle the variables, increasingly complex, seeking a resource reduction, products and process improvement and also deal with possible threats to the Supply Chain Vulnerability (SCV). The overall objective of this thesis is to propose a SCC model that includes improvement activities in SC (SCI) and SCV, so as to help improve the SC performance. In order to achieve the overall goal, specific objectives have been proposed, corresponding to the four articles that make up this thesis. The first paper aimed to perform a systematic literature review in order to identify the most widespread collaborative methods, their characteristics and implementation challenges. The second paper also held a systematic literature review, but directed in identifying the optimisation and improvement methods currently implemented, how and why they are implemented. The third paper conducted a theoretical study on SCV, understanding of its components and other related elements and analyzed the contribution of collaborative methods to mitigate it. The fourth article brings a resume of the findings in the three previous papers and consolidates them as conceptual basis for the SCC model proposition that includes SCI and SCV activities. The main thesis results began to show that the SC collaborative methods have features purely as CCS and CPFR was found as most comprehensive and further discussed collaborative methods in the literature, which its operating structure was used as a framework for the proposed SCC model. The literature showed the SCI currently focusing on continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing. Another result of the thesis was to create a SCV framework in which it was possible to understand the SCV, in its entirety and find that it can be mitigated through the use of collaborative methods. The final results of the thesis presented a SCC method that includes SCI and SCV activities, which generated discussions and showed the relevance and necessity of these activities to increase the SC competitive performance. The pointed competitive performance increase is towards increasing its operating reliability, rationalize resources and improve restrictive points, linked to priorities stated during SCC process. This fact may interact with other isolated activities of risk management or improvements in the CS.

Testo completoThe objective of this research is to develop conceptual, analytical, and managerial models and insights by analyzing a portion of the supply chain made up of a retailer dealing with two suppliers in an uncertain environment. In the first part of this thesis, we consider a single high-end (or perishable) product, single period, variable unit price, variable unit production cost, variable unit shortage cost, variable unit salvagevalue, stochastic demand problem. In a second part of the thesis, we consider settings inspired by the case of large international companies sourcing some of their products from low cost countries. This structure is as follows: two products (one sourced locally and the other sourced abroad), a three-period, two-stages, two capacitated suppliers, and a single capacitated retailer. Both analytical and numerical results are provided. Important theoretical results and insights are developed for these types of settings. These models can be used as decision-making aid tools in such environments

Testo completoAll specialists in logistics agree that this sector has known huge changes since the 1980's. It turned from a logistics that exclusively managed goods flows to the concept of supply chain, which not only manages these flows, but also controls information flows corresponding to every step of the goods way, from the supply of raw material to the delivery to the final customer. Logistics protagonists working in this chain (carriers, logistics providers, suppliers, producers, distributors...) are part of the same organizational process. It supposes a specific management of the different logistic operations and a working organization which corresponds with the supply chain structure. The study, based on about fifty interviews in several logistics, carriage, production and distribution firms, leads to analyze logistics rationalization provoked by its adaptation to the expectations of other industrial and commercial sectors, already rationalized, particularly in terms of costs reduction. Therefore, the study analyzes the causes and tendancies of this rationalization at the strategic, organizational and technical levels

Testo completoThis research aim to determine the influence of downstream supply chain risk management on performance of agro-industrial firms. It adopts an international comparative investigation between developing economy (Cameroon) and developed economy (France) to examine the concepts actually improved upstream of the supply chain. Based on scientific realism, the second post-positivist paradigm, it combines theory with field investigation to understand unobservable constructs. Using a combination of qualitative data obtained through semi-direct interviews with supply chain managers, and quantitative data obtained through the survey of agro-industrial companies’ sample, it examines the possible links between Constructs. This is done through the lexical analysis and by the Structural Equation Modeling using the Partial Least Square method (PLS). Results show that strategic risks management positively and significantly influences the performance of agro-industrial firms. This link is both direct and indirect through customer relations. On the other hand, the operational risks management negatively (but not significantly) affects performance. Similarly, the customer relationship negatively affects firm performance, the contrary of theoretical predictions. But the management of strategic risks and part of the operational risks (forecasts) significantly influence the company's customer relationship. This relationship is moderated by the implementation of effective information systems. Sales promotions do not affect the relationship between customer and performance, but are antecedent of the customer relationship of foods companies These results propose another theoretical perspective of transaction costs and agency theories through the positive impact of outsourcing management on performance. Similarly, research suggests to not isolating certain constructs when considering a research on supply chain theory. From managerial implications, managers must divest themselves of activities where they do not possess key competences such as transport activities through the development of partnerships with LSPs. They must also privilege the implementation of effective information systems as a guarantee of success in the customer orientation of the company. Subsequent research may focus on integrating aspects of trust, competitive advantage, and product quality into the model, in order to better measure their impact on the financial and non-financial performance of CRM

Testo completoThe digital world with constantly evolution gives rise to the precious concept , "data" that is known as the black gold. In accordance with this evolution, database management systems, which play an important role in data valuation, are becoming an essential element of information systems and decision- making processes. With respect to the digital revolution, data is generated every second in a huge volume, by multiple sources and with different formats.Despite the fact that managing large and dispersed data is a problematic issue , we could not neglect the precious value that could potentially be gained through raw data exploration. This heterogeneity translates into the need for an integrated system to efficiently store, process and analyze the huge amount of scattered data. The phenomenon of huge data, known as big data, requires a decision-making system with an appropriate architecture that stores the heterogeneous data and supports the main characteristics of the big data environment, such as the data volume, the veracity, velocity and veracity. The data lake, which is a centralized storage system, is a good answer to these arising problems to receive raw data on a large scale in their native formats. Concerning this goal, it is clear that the infrastructure and architecture of the data lake have a significant impact on the profitability and functionality of the overall system. In this regard, the design and management of the data lake structure requires practical and innovative methods in order to achieve an integrated and optimal centralized repository. By considering the systematic structure of the data lake as well as the hierarchical architecture of the systems, a logistical vision could lead us to the defined objectives. The supply chain is a good example of logistics systems where hierarchical participants are coordi- nated within an integrated network in order to prepare a product or render services to targeted consumers. The logistics structure as well as the supply chain management strategies could be an innovative source of inspiration to design, manage and optimize a data management system based on a logistics vision. For this reason, the implementation of the analog method between systematic structures clarifies to what extent one could take advantage of management strategies derived from the supply chain to develop the architecture and performance of the data lake.In this thesis, we hypothesize that it is possible to describe a data lake and its functionality by comparing it to the logistical structure of a supply chain. On the basis of these objectives:First, we are interested in relying on several data lake architectures and verifying the effectiveness of these architectures on the performance of the data lake, in particular in relation to data governance and the quality of services. In a second step, we introduce the supply chain, supply chain management and the methods that are used frequently to optimize the supply chain. Furthermore we compare all the elements of this data lake logistics system and focus on their similar points in order to use the data lake supply chain management methods.Thirdly, we propose a new architecture for data lake based on supply chain definition thanks to the evolutionary process of modeling the structures of data lakes. We finish this work by optimizing the proposed data lake architecture with supply chain network design strategies and propose the methods to solve the defined mathematical optimization model

Testo completoThe difficulties of small farmers go back a long time. Several studies have been developed to solve their main problems. These include small-scale production, obtaining the market for these products, managing their small 'business', acquiring a financial return. The purpose of our thesis is not to transform small farmers to large, this mistake has already been made previously by various public policies in developing countries. Our goal is to provide a way in which they can, even if small, ensuring their quality to improve its product life cycle from production to sale in the market. However, we know that for a small farmer is not easy to enter into the world market individually. The consumer market needs continuous production, in quality and quantity. So, they need to develop collective actions that can insert them into this global supply chain. Why are we talking about the introduction of producers into the world market and not their introduction into local markets? Well, our context is based on small farmers in underdevelopment regions which do Not have the economic capacity to buy their products in the way to ensure the sustainability of their business, so the challenge is; insert farmers into global circuits. In this case, farmers will have a more equitable payment for their production and be able to 'fly on their own', from a capabilities approach, they should look for a form of organization that allows production with characteristics and quality similar, ensuring the packaging and transportation process, in addition to having financial and management potential to conduct negotiations with customers and suppliers. At that moment, we are wondering what is the apropriate legal form “Cooperative” or not. From several case studies we analyze two territories in the Northewest region of Brazil, one (Piauí) and the other (Ceará). We are clear that the management of SCM, support for beekeepers and quality control department are, among others, those that are at the origin of the success of the central cooperative of Piauí

Testo completoThis research looks at the problems of creation and process improvement for the management of know-how. In response, we are advancing the concept of "hinged intelligences" which is based on four dominant principles. The first of these is based on an adaptation of "agile methods1", the second part declines the concepts of the "intervention research", the third uses computer techniques in transposing those "business intelligence" and the fourth takes into account the acceptability of the players face the changes. The proposed "approach" is so noticeable as a double vector management and support in the conduct of change. In this study, the managerial dimension is addressed in a pragmatic way, and positioned the dissemination of information as a central element. Indeed, by strengthening communication and transparency through the use of pilotage and simulatiod tools, we seek to enhance the performance of managers. These elements are applied to the case of the "Supply Chain Management" in the industrial sector. For the conduct of our work, we are building on the principles of the "intervention research" which prove appropriate to the development of this type of project. Conduct research is organized according to the following path, first presentation of the conceptual framework which is at the origin of the approach. Then we discuss the description of the land of experimentation with the development of two case studies. The first concerns the design of a human resource allocation tool. This allows to assign staff in the context of the actual. The second focuses on the redesign of a logistics organization in a workshop industrial with the implementation of a "Milkrun2" for the management of physical flows of the production site. At the end of the presentation of these cases, we propose a discussion with a formalization of the concepts around the themes studied. The research then recommends the elements of implementation of the "approach" for the management of improvement projects that values collaborative dimension and the emergence of the know-how

Testo completoSupply chain management is subject of particular interest to professionals and researchers especially in management science. It revolves around the sharing of resources and expertise between supply chain members, and the synergy that exists between them to collectively create value that is more than the sum of the values created separately by each member. This alliance, which requires collective cooperation in the creation and the equitable sharing of the value, is characterized by opportunistic behaviors that lead to failure, as illustrated by the Bullwhip effect. Thus, our objective is to analyze these behaviors in an attempt to understand their dynamics within the supply chain. In this regard, we rely on the perspective of social dilemmas to propose two mechanisms: a motivational mechanism (sharing the identity of the supply chain) and a structural mechanism (investment in relational resources) to discourage and reduce opportunism. To support our reasoning, these mechanisms are articulated to create social capital, facilitating supply chain management, in turn improving supply chain performance. This leads to the design of an integrative model of supply chain social dynamics. This was validated with a sample of 130 respondents (supply chain heads, logistics managers, etc.). The collected data were analyzed first by univariate analysis followed by principal component analysis to refine our scale. Second, we used PLS-PM (partial least squares regression) structural equation models to estimate, on one hand, the convergent and the discriminant validity of the measurement scales validity, and on the other hand, validate our research hypotheses on the antecedents and the consequences of social capital in the supply chain. The results of these analyses have allowed us to validate all the assumptions that the two mechanisms for resolving social dilemma help develop social capital within the supply chain, and act to lubricate inter-organizational relations, allowing improved supply chain performance

Testo completoThe aim of this thesis is to assess the Supply Chain Management Practices impact (PSCM) on business performance. The focus is to study two types of performance: financial performance, which integrates short and long term indicators and shareholder value, and non-financial performance, that covers various aspects including delivery, responsiveness and service. We have developed a conceptual model based on a relational approach and various other approaches for evaluating performance in a supply chain context. This model is tested with 91 purchasing and supply managers and directors of manufacturing companies in France. Data collected are processed through a factorial analysis followed by a regression analysis. The results shows that long-term strategic partnership and customer relationship management has a direct positive impact on financial performance and shareholder value, and, that two practices coupled with and information management reduce delivery times improve responsiveness and increase the level of service. Finally, our results also demonstrate the mediating role of non-financial performance in PSCM on a financial performance relationship
