In analogy to ω-logic, one defines M-logic for an arbitrary structure M (see [5],[6]). In M-logic only those structures are considered in which a special part, determined by a fixed unary predicate, is isomorphic to M. Let L be the similarity type of M and T its complete theory. We say that M-logic is κ-compact if it satisfies the compactness theorem for sets of < κ sentences. In this paper we introduce the related notion of compactness for expandability: a model M is κ-compactly expandable if for every extension T′ ⊇ T of cardinality < κ, if every finite subset of T′ can be satisfied in an expansion of M, then T′ can also be satisfied in an expansion of M. Moreover, M is compactly expandable if it is ∥M∥+-compactly expandable. It turns out that M-logic is κ-compact iff M is κ-compactly expandable.Whereas for first-order logic consistency and finite satisfiability are the same, consistency with T and finite satisfiability in M are, in general, no longer the same thing. We call the model Mκ-expandable if every consistent extension T′ ⊇ T of cardinality < κ can be satisfied in an expansion of M. We say that M is expandable if it is ∥M∥+-expandable. Here we study the relationship between saturation, expandability and compactness for expandability. There is a close parallelism between our results about compactly expandable models and some theorems of S. Shelah about expandable models, which are in fact expressed in terms of categoricity of PC-classes (see [7, Th. VI.5.3, VI.5.4 and VI.5.5]). Our results could be obtained directly from these theorems of Shelah if expandability and compactness for expandability were the same notion.

This does not solve, however, the problem of whether such extensions exist which are also closed under relativization of formulas.

Abstract (sommario):
For a smooth bivariate function defined on a general domain with arbitrary shape, it is difficult to do Fourier approximation or wavelet approximation. In order to solve these problems, in this paper, we give an extension of the bivariate function on a general domain with arbitrary shape to a smooth, periodic function in the whole space or to a smooth, compactly supported function in the whole space. These smooth extensions have simple and clear representations which are determined by this bivariate function and some polynomials. After that, we expand the smooth, periodic function into a Fourier series or a periodic wavelet series or we expand the smooth, compactly supported function into a wavelet series. Since our extensions are smooth, the obtained Fourier coefficients or wavelet coefficients decay very fast. Since our extension tools are polynomials, the moment theorem shows that a lot of wavelet coefficients vanish. From this, with the help of well-known approximation theorems, using our extension methods, the Fourier approximation and the wavelet approximation of the bivariate function on the general domain with small error are obtained.

We propose an extension of Aczel's constructive set theory CZF by an axiom for inductive types and a choice principle, and show that this extension has the following properties: it is interpretable in Martin-Löf's type theory (hence acceptable from a constructive and generalized-predicative standpoint). In addition, it is strong enough to prove the Set Compactness theorem and the results in formal topology which make use of this theorem. Moreover, it is stable under the standard constructions from algebraic set theory, namely exact completion, realizability models, forcing as well as more general sheaf extensions. As a result, methods from our earlier work can be applied to show that this extension satisfies various derived rules, such as a derived compactness rule for Cantor space and a derived continuity rule for Baire space. Finally, we show that this extension is robust in the sense that it is also reflected by the model constructions from algebraic set theory just mentioned.

An attempt to answer the following question gave rise to the results of the present paper. Let be an arbitrary model of set theory. Does there exist an elementary extension of satisfying the two requirements: (1) contains an ordinal exceeding all the ordinals of ; (2) does not enlarge any (hyper) integer of ? Note that a trivial application of the ordinary compactness theorem produces a model satisfying condition (1); and an internal ultrapower modulo an internal ultrafilter produces a model satisfying condition (2) (but not (1), because of the axiom of replacement). Also, such a satisfying both conditions (1) and (2) exists if the external cofinality of the ordinals of is countable, since by [KM], would then have an elementary end extension.Using a class of models constructed by M. Rubin using in [RS], and already employed in [E1], we prove that our question in general has a negative answer (see Theorem 2.3). This result generalizes the results of M. Kaufmann and the author (appearing respectively in [Ka] and [E1]) concerning models of set theory with no elementary end extensions.In the course of the proof it was necessary to establish that all conservative extensions (see Definition 2.1) of models of ZF must be cofinal. This is in direct contrast with the case of Peano arithmetic where all conservative extensions are end extensional (as observed by Phillips in [Ph1]). This led the author to introduce two useful weakenings of the notion of a conservative end extension which, as shown by the “completeness” theorems in §3, can exist.

We introduce definitions of fuzzy inverse compactness, fuzzy inverse countable compactness, and fuzzy inverse Lindelöfness on arbitrary -fuzzy sets in -fuzzy topological spaces. We prove that the proposed definitions are good extensions of the corresponding concepts in ordinary topology and obtain different characterizations of fuzzy inverse compactness.

Dans cette thèse, nous explorons les structures possibles des systèmes dynamiques de la forme $\bfX :=(X, \A, \mu, T)$ et leurs tribus facteur $\B \subset \A$. Les deux premiers chapitres étudient les différentes façons dont une tribu facteur $\B$ peut s'inclure dans un système dynamique $\bfX :=(X, \A, \mu, T)$, c'est-à-dire que nous étudions certaines structures possibles de l'\emph{extension} $\A \arr \B$. Dans le premier chapitre, nous considérons les concepts de \emph{super-innovations} et de \emph{standardité} des extensions, inspirés de la théorie des filtrations. Un point important est l'introduction de la notion d'\emph{extensions confinées}, qui nous intéressent parce qu'elles n'ont pas de super-innovation. Nous donnons plusieurs exemples et étudions des propriétés supplémentaires de ces extensions, y compris des résultats de relèvement. Ensuite, nous montrons notre résultat principal : l'existence d'extensions non-standard. Enfin, ce résultat trouve une application dans l'étude des filtrations dynamiques, qui sont les filtrations de la forme $(\F_n)_{n \leq 0}$ telles que chaque $\F_n$ est une tribu facteur. Nous montrons qu'il existe des \emph{filtrations dynamiques I-confortables non standard}.Le deuxième chapitre approfondit l'étude des extensions confinées en trouvant un nouveau type de telles extensions, dans le cadre des suspensions de Poisson : nous prenons un système dynamique $(X, \mu, T)$ en mesure $\s$-finie infinie et une extension compacte $(X \times G, \mu \otimes m_G, T_\phi)$, puis nous considérons l'extension de Poisson correspondante $((X \times G)^*, (\mu \otimes m_G)^*, (T_\phi)_*) \to (X^*, \mu^*, T_*)$. Nous donnons des conditions sous lesquelles cette extension est confinée et construisons un exemple qui correspond à ces conditions.Enfin, le troisième chapitre se concentre sur une famille de filtrations dynamiques : les \emph{filtrations de Pinsker faible}. L'existence de ces filtrations sur tout système ergodique provient d'un résultat récent d'Austin \cite{austin}, et elles se présentent comme un outil potentiel pour décrire les systèmes à entropie positive. Nous explorons les liens entre la structure asymptotique des filtrations de Pinsker faible et les propriétés du système dynamique sous-jacent. Naturellement, nous demandons aussi si, sur un système donné, la structure des filtrations de Pinsker faible est unique à isomorphisme près. Nous donnons une réponse partielle, dans le cas où le système sous-jacent est un schéma de Bernoulli. Nous concluons notre travail en donnant deux exemples explicites de filtrations de Pinsker faible
In this thesis, we explore the possible structures of measure preserving dynamical systems of the form $\bfX :=(X, \A, \mu, T)$ and their factor $\s$-algebras $\B \subset \A$. The first two chapters investigate various ways in which a factor $\s$-algebra $\B$ can sit in a dynamical system $\bfX :=(X, \A, \mu, T)$, i.e. we study some possible structures of the \emph{extension} $\A \arr \B$. In the first chapter, we consider the concepts of \emph{super-innovations} and \emph{standardness} of extensions, which are inspired from the theory of filtrations. An important focus of our work is the introduction of the notion of \emph{confined extensions}, which first interested us because they have no super-innovation. We give several examples and study additional properties of confined extensions, including several lifting results. Then, we show our main result: the existence of non-standard extensions. Finally, this result finds an application to the study of dynamical filtrations, i.e. filtrations of the form $(\F_n)_{n \leq 0}$ such that each $\F_n$ is a factor $\s$-algebra. We show that there exist \emph{non-standard I-cosy dynamical filtrations}.The second chapter furthers the study of confined extensions by finding a new kind of such extensions, in the setup of Poisson suspensions: we take an infinite $\s$-finite measure-preserving dynamical system $(X, \mu, T)$ and a compact extension $(X \times G, \mu \otimes m_G, T_\phi)$, then we consider the corresponding Poisson extension $((X \times G)^*, (\mu \otimes m_G)^*, (T_\phi)_*) \to (X^*, \mu^*, T_*)$. We give conditions under which that extension is confined and build an example which fits those conditions.Lastly, the third chapter focuses on a family of dynamical filtrations: \emph{weak Pinsker filtrations}. The existence of those filtrations on any ergodic system comes from a recent result by Austin \cite{austin}, and they present themselves as a potential tool to describe positive entropy systems. We explore the links between the asymptotic structure of weak Pinsker filtrations and the properties of the underlying dynamical system. Naturally, we also ask whether, on a given system, the structure of weak Pinsker filtrations is unique up to isomorphism. We give a partial answer, in the case where the underlying system is Bernoulli. We conclude our work by giving two explicit examples of weak Pinsker filtrations

Nous étudions les groupes quantiques dans un cadre d'algèbres d'opérateurs : les espaces quantiques sous-jacents sont des C*-algèbres ou des algèbres de von Neumann. Nous donnons des exemples comme extensions de groupes par des duaux de groupes. Ceci fournit les premiers exemples de groupes quantiques non-semi-réguliers. Nous étudions les coactions extérieures sur des facteurs et plus particulièrement sur les facteurs d'Araki-Woods libres. Nous introduisons un invariant T pour les groupes quantiques et l'utilisons pour démontrer que certains groupes quantiques ne peuvent que coagir extérieurement sur des facteurs de type III.

Comme application de ce ris'esultat, nous montrons que la structure cr d'andreotti-rossi n'est pas plongeable dans l'espace projectif. Nous montrons aussi que les fonctions holomorphes (resp. Meromorphes) au voisinage d'une hypersurface ris'eelle $$m$$ de $$pn (iscc)$$ ($$n isgeq 2$$) admettent une extension holomorphe (resp. Mis'eromorphe) isa l'un des deux cotis'es de $$m$$. En collaboration avec t. C dinh, nous obtenons un this'eoriseme de wedge removability pour les ensemble de mesure de hausdorff de codimension deux nulle. Ce dernier this'eoriseme associis'e a un ris'esultat de marker-porten permet de montrer l'extension des fonctions cr-mis'eromorphes en codimension supis'erieure.

L'objectif de cette thèse consiste en l'étude du revêtement universel des variétés kählériennes compactes, de leurs systèmes pluricanoniques et des liens qui les unissent. Dans un premier temps, nous étudions la $\Gamma$-réduction d'une variété kählérienne compacte vue comme quotient de Remmert biméromorphe de son revêtement universel. La dimension de l'espace quotient est par définition la $\Gamma$-dimension d'une telle variété. Les grandes lignes de l'étude de cet invariant sont les suivantes : lien avec l'existence de formes holomorphes $L^2$ sur le revêtement universel, comportement de la $\Gamma$-dimension dans les fibrations, place de la $\Gamma$-réduction dans la théorie de la classification, structure des variétés de type $\pi_1$-général (au moins en petite dimension). La fin de cette première partie est consacrée à l'étude de l'invariance par déformation de la $\Gamma$-dimension en dimension 3. Cette propriété est établie dans diverses situations, par exemple dans les cas des familles de variétés kählériennes qui ne sont pas de type général. La deuxième partie porte sur la méthode One-Tower d'extension de formes pluricanoniques. Nous mettons en effet cette partie à profit pour montrer comment adapter cette méthode dans différentes situations. In this thesis, we study universal cover of Kähler compact manifolds, their pluricanonical systems and the different links between them. First, we introduce the G-reduction of a Kähler compact manifold as a rational Remmert reduction of its universal cover ; the G-dimension is defined to be the dimension of the base of this fibration. In this study we consider the following aspects : behaviour of the G-dimension in a fibration, relationship with L² holomorphic forms on the universal cover, comparison with the fibrations of the classification theory, G-reduction for manifolds of small dimension. At the end of this first part, we establish invariance of G-dimension for several families of Kähler threefolds (for instance for non general type). We then show statements of extension of pluricanonical forms in the spirit of the One-Tower method. After a brief review concerning positivity of line bundles and multiplier ideal sheaves, we apply this strategy in different situations : projective family (with a twisting pseudo-effective line bundle), hypersurface in a projective manifold, G-reduction for manifolds of general type and family of infinite covers

We prove an analogue of the Hodge cohomology theorem for a certain class of non-compact manifolds. Specifically, let M be a compact manifold with boundary OM, and let g be a metric on Int(M). Assume that there exists a collar neighborhood of the boundary ... We then describe doubly weighted Sobolev spaces on M. For elements of these spaces the harmonic parts of w1 and w2 lie in one Sobolev space, while the non-harmonic parts of w1 and w2 lie in a differently defined Sobolev space. We prove that ... is Fredholm on almost all of these doubly weighted spaces, except for a finite number of values of w. This gives us an analogue of the Hodge decomposition theorem and leads to the result. This work generalizes earlier theorems of Atiyah, Patodi and Singer for b-metrics (case a = b = 0) and of Melrose for scattering metrics (case a = b = 1).

We consider Livsic regularity for Lie group valued cocycles over: a class of piecewise expanding maps of the interval, namely Lasota-Yorke maps; uniformly hyperbolic toral maps with singularities and a class of nonuniformly expanding interval maps. As applications of the results we prove stable ergodicity theorems for compact Lie group extension of Lasota-Yorke maps and uniformly hyperbolic toral maps with singularities. Additionally we consider conditions for the ergodicity and weak-mixing of finite group extensions of hyperbolic basic sets given in terms of periodic data and cohomological equations. We also consider stable ergodicity results for a class of nonconnected compact Lie group extensions of hyperbolic basic sets.

In 1969, humans set foot on the lunar surface for the first time. The space race of the cold war era was at its peak with Moon 1.0. Almost four decades later, there is renewed interest in returning to the Moon and going beyond. This time, the extension of the human presence into outer space is meant to be permanent and sustainable. Space exploration is to be brought into the economic sphere with Moon 2.0. The activities of the public sector mainly represented in the Global Exploration Strategy and those of the private sector, which have been highlighted by the Google Lunar X PRIZE are surveyed and contrasted against the core international legal framework. Arguing that the private sector can play a unique role in reconciling inclusive social interests for the benefit of mankind with their current exclusive economic priorities, the United Nations Global Compact is offered as a suitable gateway.
C'est en 1969 que l'homme a mis pieds sur la lune pour la première fois. La course vers l'espace à l'époque de la guerre froide était a son apogée avec Lune 1.0. Près de quatre décades plus tard, l'intérêt de retourner vers la lune et d'aller même encore plus loin est de nouveau réveillé. Cette fois-ci, on a l'intention d'assurer l'extension de la présence humaine dans l'espace de façon permanente et durable. L'exploration spatiale doit gagner une dimension économique avec Lune 2.0. Les activités du secteur public représentées surtout par la Stratégie mondiale d'exploration et celles secteur privé qui ont été mises en évidence par le concours Google Lunar X PRIZE, sont examinées et comparées au principes fondamentales du droit international. Invoquant l'argument que le secteur privé peut jouer un rôle unique en conciliant les intérêts sociaux pour le bienfait de l'humanité et les priorités économiques actuelles excluantes, le Pacte Mondial des Nations Unies est proposé comme moyen d'accès approprié.

Las áreas urbanas articuladas por ciudades medias han experimentado los crecimientos más intensos del sistema urbano español durante las últimas cuatro décadas. La expansión de estas ciudades hacia sus periferias se ha intensificado en una etapa de fuertes cambios, con el máximo exponente de los crecimientos acontecidos durante la década prodigiosa del boom inmobiliario, entre 1997 y 2007. Como norma general, durante este período las ciudades medias han incrementado leve o moderadamente su población, pero han multiplicado exponencialmente su parque inmobiliario y su superficie urbanizada. Ello ha supuesto la alteración de sus tradicionales estructuras, en general relativamente compactas y densas hasta el momento, abriendo el debate sobre la configuración de espacios urbanos dispersos y fragmentados. En la última década, los crecimientos se han ralentizado y se ha planteado la aparición de un urbanismo más contenido, que reconsidere la pauta de la clasificación masiva de nuevos suelos urbanizables. Sin embargo, el análisis del planeamiento municipal reciente plantea una contradicción en el modelo, ya que parece persistir la expectativa urbanizadora. De hecho, la estrategia urbanística en ciudades medias parece seguir centrada en propuestas de extensión.

The sum-product network (SPN) has been extended to model sequence data with the recurrent SPN (RSPN), and to decision-making problems with sum-product-max networks (SPMN). In this paper, we build on the concepts introduced by these extensions and present state-based recurrent SPMNs (S-RSPMNs) as a generalization of SPMNs to sequential decision-making problems where the state may not be perfectly observed. As with recurrent SPNs, S-RSPMNs utilize a repeatable template network to model sequences of arbitrary lengths. We present an algorithm for learning compact template structures by identifying unique belief states and the transitions between them through a state matching process that utilizes augmented data. In our knowledge, this is the first data-driven approach that learns graphical models for planning under partial observability, which can be solved efficiently. S-RSPMNs retain the linear solution complexity of SPMNs, and we demonstrate significant improvements in compactness of representation and the run time of structure learning and inference in sequential domains.

The crack extension in a compact tension specimen of hydrided irradiated Zr-2.5Nb material is investigated by a two-dimensional plane stress finite element analysis. The stress-strain relation of the Zr-2.5Nb material for the finite element analysis is obtained from fitting the experimental tensile stress-strain curve of the irradiated Zr-2.5Nb material without hydrides by a three-dimensional finite element analysis. The calibration of the cohesive zone model with a trapezoidal traction-separation law is based on fitting the load-displacement-crack extension experimental data of a compact tension specimen of hydrided irradiated Zr-2.5Nb material. The general trends of the load-displacement, crack extension-displacement, and load-crack extension curves obtained from the finite element analysis based on the calibrated cohesive zone model are in agreement with the experimental data.

En el Municipio de Córdoba, el mercado inmobiliario utiliza cinco modalidades para la construcción de vivienda y que representan la extensión de la mancha urbana: urbanizaciones residenciales especiales, urbanizaciones rurales, barrios cerrados, urbanizaciones sin plan de vivienda y urbanizaciones con plan de vivienda. Dentro de los estudios sobre producción residencial en Córdoba, se detecta cierto vacío en los abordajes desde la forma urbana y el diseño urbano-arquitectónico; por lo tanto, el aporte de artículo consiste en comenzar a incorporar la dimensión físico-espacial de estos grandes emprendimientos, buscando comprender la incidencia de los mismos en el crecimiento urbano. Este fenómeno oscila entre la aspiración a una ciudad compacta y aquellas prácticas que, por el contrario, promueven la ciudad extendida. Este estudio se sitúa dentro del debate teórico de morfología urbana sobre las tensiones entre la teoría del diseño urbano como idea y como práctica. In the Municipality of Córdoba, the housing market uses five different modalities for the construction of houses which represent the extension of the urban area: special residential developments, rural developments, gated neighborhoods, developments with housing plan, and developments without housing plan. Among the studies of the residential production in Córdoba, a certain gap is detected in urban form and urban-architectural design approaches. The contribution of this article is, therefore, to incorporate the physical-spatial dimension of these large-scale projects, seeking to understand their impact on urban growth. This phenomenon fluctuates between the desire for a compact city and those practices that, in contrast, promote the extended city. This study places itself within the urban morphology’s theoretical discussion of the tensions between urban design as an idea and as a practice.

La población urbana en México se duplicó entre 1980 y 2010, mientras que la extensión territorial (urban sprawl) de las ciudades se incrementó en promedio 10 veces (IMEPLAN, 2016). Este crecimiento poco sustentable se replica en el Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara (AMG), donde la población también se duplicó pero la extensión de su territorio se triplico. El crecimiento del territorio supone la generación de problemas medio ambientales, sociales, y económicos, al incrementar la dependencia del automóvil privado para funcionar eficientemente, en un modelo de desarrollo urbano disperso, fragmentado y de baja accesibilidad, dado el aumento de las distancias entre los lugares de residencia y los servicios elementales. En contraste, el municipio de Guadalajara ha perdido población en las últimas décadas (Inegi, 2015). Lo anterior contribuyó a una pérdida del 18% de su densidad poblacional. Mientras que la periferia metropolitana, por ejemplo, el municipio de Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, aumentó su población en el mismo periodo de tiempo. Entre las razones que explican la migración intra-municipal de Guadalajara a la periferia metropolitana, está el aumento del costo de la vivienda en Guadalajara (Sociedad Hipotecaria Federal, 2019) combinado con la baja del ingreso promedio de sus habitantes (Observatorio de Salarios, 2016). Y por otro lado, el aumento en la oferta de vivienda social en el municipio de Tlajomulco de Zúñiga. El presente artículo propone explorar una serie de políticas de vivienda social para que grupos de bajos ingresos accedan a vivienda asequible en la ciudad consolidada, con el propósito de evitar que el crecimiento del territorio del AMG continúe. Entre las alternativas de política de vivienda que se exploran destacan la vivienda en alquiler, la vivienda inclusiva, los fideicomisos/bancos de tierra y el derecho de tanteo y retracto. Estas políticas permitirían mitigar los efectos medio ambientales, económicos y sociales de una expansión territorial poco sustentable, al tiempo que facilitaría que grupos de bajos ingresos vivan en Guadalajara beneficiándose de la accesibilidad que ofrece la ciudad compacta. Además, contribuiría a elevar la cohesión social en el municipio, evitar la exclusión social de los tapatíos más pobres y atenuar la segregación social que con frecuencia sufren los grupos sociales de menor ingreso, al verse desplazados involuntariamente a la periferia urbana.
