The electric vehicle industry involves various technological cooperative innovations, meaning that electric vehicle companies must not only cooperate and innovate with similar enterprises in the same industry, but also collaborate with enterprises across the industry and research institutions (RIs). This paper empirically analyzed the structure and evolution characteristics of cooperative innovation networks, based on the patent application data in the field of electric vehicles from 2006 to 2021. It was found that the firm–firm intra-industry and inter-industry cooperative innovation networks, and firm–RI cooperative innovation networks have the characteristics of phased evolution in structure, and the network structure in the evolution process has similarities and differences. Furthermore, during the industrial formation period, inter-industry cooperative innovation focuses on the cooperation between the midstream and downstream industries of the industrial chain; but in the industrial growth period, inter-industry cooperative innovation has been widely extended to multiple industries in the upper, middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain. While the scale of intra-industry and industry–research institution cooperative innovation continues to expand with the development of the industry, the collaboration is concentrated in the five industries in the middle and downstream of the industrial chain. The research conclusion can provide a reference for different cooperative innovation partners of electric vehicles and other emerging industries to formulate differentiated policies.

With the diversified development of coal enterprises in China, the industries related to coal, including coal chemical, electric power, transportation, and building materials, have witnessed rapid development. There is a collaboration relation between the coal industries and most of the aforementioned industries. Based on the synergy theory and the theory of industrial cooperation, the collaboration among coal industries is assessed in this research. Examining China Coal Energy Company as an example, this research divides the compound enterprise system into subsystems such as coal-electric, coal-chemical, and coal-equipment. Next, collaboration indices, including market, scale, and management, are created for each subsystem. Then, the overall collaboration degree of the China Coal Energy Company since it was listed was calculated by standardizing data and estimating the order degree of order parameters and subsystems. Thus, a model measuring the industrial collaboration degree of coal enterprises was established to quantitatively reflect the collaboration degree between various industries. At the same time, the factors influencing the collaboration effect between various industries were analyzed so as to improve this effect, which then can provide a decision basis for enterprises.

The electric power and electric industries are basic and strategic emerging industries in China’s national economy. Based on the data of listed companies in China’s electric power and electric industries from 2015 to 2019, this paper empirically studies the impact of research and development (R & D) attention on corporate profitability. The results show that attention to R & D by listed companies in electric power and electric industries will significantly improve enterprise’s profit performance, and this kind of effect has yearly heterogeneity. From 2015 to 2017, R & D attention gradually improved the profit performance of enterprises, but the profit spillover effect of R & D investment in recent years needs to be further strengthened. Further study found that R & D attention has a significant effect on corporate profitability in the private enterprise group, the R & D attention of state-owned enterprises and R & D structure adjustment should be paid more attention; R & D investment can significantly improve the profitability of the electrical industry, but the promotion effect was relatively slow in recent years, and R & D investment has a significant effect on the profitability of listed companies in the electric power industry. Although the promotion effect is not obvious, it shows a steady improvement trend. After variable and model replacement, the empirical regression conclusion of this paper is still robust. The results of this paper help to deepen the understanding of the stage characteristics of the impact of R & D attention on profit performance, and it is of great significance to optimize the efficiency of R & D investment and pay attention to the adjustment of R & D structure in the electric power and electrical industries.

The protracted commercialization of battery electric passenger vehicles is often ascribed to the failure of the automobile industry to embrace the latest power sources. In this article, I argue that the pace of progress in this context was instead dictated largely by the ways researchers constructed metrics of power source performance. Such processes can in turn be seen as issuing from the conflicting agendas of academic, industrial, and state research. Knowledge of advanced power sources historically tended to be generated not in the automobile industry but in the research laboratories of allied industries and especially in state-funded academic networks. Notable in this regard was materials science and engineering, which exerted an important epistemic influence on advanced power source and electric vehicle research and development. Materials researchers tended to select compounds for reactivity rather than safety and durability, giving rise to the idea of a super battery and leading them and others to treat power sources as essentially materials rather than parts of complex technological systems. This way of thinking prevented technologists from appreciating the physical limits of power sources in real-world applications, setting up crises of expectation at later stages of electric automobile research and development. In the gap between basic research and the exigencies of industrial technoscience, the imagined super-battery electric vehicle came to be mobilized for ends consonant with multiple entrenched interests.

With the popularity of 5G technology and electric vehicles, many countries around the world have adopted 5G technology to build sustainable smart city systems, and intelligent transportation is an important part of smart cities. From the perspective of 5G technology innovation bringing changes to traditional industries, in this paper, we analyze the mechanism by which 5G technology drives the transformation and upgrading of the electric vehicle industry. Based on the changes brought by 5G technology to the three industries of agriculture, industry and services, we analyzed the transformation of business models brought about by 5G with respect to electric vehicle operation. Furthermore, we analyzed the data of a 5G real-time system of electric vehicle and traffic operating in Nanjing, China, for a month in 2021, with a total of 10,610 electric vehicles and 1,048,575 cases to model the modes of electric vehicle operation associated with the platform. Based on the frequency density method, we identified three typical operating modes of urban electric vehicles: private electric vehicle use instead of walking accounts for 24.8%, passenger vehicles (Uber/Didi and taxi) account for 64.4% and logistic distribution electric vehicles account for 10.8%. We developed a method to automatically identify the operating mode of electric vehicles using data from a 5G real-time electric vehicle traffic platform, which provide a reference for the operation of electric vehicles associated with the platform. This work also provides data that can be used to support the establishment of models for the commercial operation of charging points.

The paper aims to summarize and analyze the statistical data on the generation structure and price behavior in the Russian electric power industry and, based on the analysis, make a statistical contribution to the discussion on the outcomes of the electricity reform in Russia. A brief review of this topic is provided. The study states that the electric power industry should be regarded as a combination of four sub-industries when regulation, market design, and industrial organization problems are discussed. These four sub-industries are generation, transmission, distribution, and sales because of different regulations applied to these businesses. The main trends in the retail price index and some other indexes in the four sub-industries are observed from 2009 to 2018. The trends in electricity consumption and generation structure are discussed as essential components of economic processes in the industry. The findings suggest that the four sub-industries make different contributions to the overall growth of the electricity supply costs for end consumers. Most growth was determined by regulated government-granted monopolies in network businesses (transmission and distribution companies). The sales business is represented in the research by suppliers of last resort.

Many important issues in modern Chinese history are crucially affected by the magnitude and pattern of economic growth up to 1937. Despite the work of John Key Chang and more recently Thomas Rawski, however, we still know all too little about the quantitative aspects of that growth. All scholars of the period are greatly indebtedto Chang's pioneering and indispensame work on industrial production but, as he himself points out, his index remains tentative and exploratory. Although the compilation of a definitive new index will eventually depend on work by scholars in China, to my knowledge this has not yet got under way. Wherever compiled, any index of industrial output as a whole, or even of national income, will have to be based on better series for individual industries. In such a context, this research note builds on Chang's work by offering a revision of the output series for one very important and rapidly growing industry in pre-1937 China, the electric power industry.

The purpose of this work is to discover and experimentally study the characteristics that affect the use of thermal and electric energy by ventilation systems and air heating in the industry, as well as to create solutions that allow to achieve a decrease in the consumption of fuel and energy resources for these systems. The relevance of the work is to reduce the cost of manufactured products and increase their own competitiveness by saving consumed energy resources. In this regard, the development of completely new solutions focused on the economic efficiency of electrical and thermal energy in ventilation and heating systems in various industries, with a simultaneous increase in sanitary hygienic efficiency, today is an urgent task of solving the problem and has economic national importance.

Combustion engines are increasingly being regarded as unsustainable in the long-term, because of their negative impact on the environment (e.g. pollution, green-house gas production, and global warming). This has generated worldwide interest in propulsion systems based on renewable alternative energy sources for the future. Fuel cell technology is a promising alternative power source because of their high specific energy, efficiency, and reliability. Hydrogen proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) in particular produces zero carbon emissions by having only water vapor as the exhaust. Although there has been much research by automotive industries in developing fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEV), fuel cell research for aircraft application is relatively new. Therefore, there is a pressing need for research related to development of aircraft fuel cell electric propulsion systems. Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is conducting static experiments on different configurations of fuel cell electric propulsion systems. The objective of this study is to understand the behavior of a PEMFC propulsion system under a ground-based static test. A 1 kW PEMFC was used as the main power source for a brushless DC motor electric propulsion system. The electrical characteristics, rotational speed, and thrust data were presented for two different electrical propellers. Analyses of the results were used to characterize the effectiveness of the fuel cell system and its balance of plant. The results were beneficial as a predictive method on defining the optimum electric propulsion system performance needed for future actual flight development.

This research aims at analyzing how sustainability is being incorporated by industrial focal companies on supply chain practices within Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. An exploratory qualitative research was performed using a multiple case study strategy where four focal companies were investigated. These focal companies actuate with their supply chains in the electric-electronic, energy and footwear industries. Findings concluded that the economic pillar is still the most important for the investigated companies. It was also noted that the environmental pillar is becoming even more relevant, and the social one is still incipient within the practices of the industrial focal companies of the supply chains investigated.

The shifting trend of conventional to the electric drivetrain in automotive industries makes batteries become the most favorable energy storage. There are three types of battery cells that are commonly used for electric vehicles i.e., cylindrical cells, pouch cells, and prismatic cells. The use of active material such as lithium-ion in the battery of electric vehicles could bring some issues related to the safety field. For that reason, comprehensive research on battery failure analysis needs to be conducted. This paper reviews the recent progress of the use of battery cells in electric vehicles and some challenges which must be considered to assure their safety. There are a lot of studies on battery failure analysis, which mainly focuses on the appearance of a short circuit as the main cause of the thermal runaway event. Several proposals on predicting short circuits in the battery due to various loading are comprehensively discussed. Those research results can be considered to establish regulations in designing battery protectors.

Stocks and bonds issued by industrial companies listed and traded on the stock exchange belong to industrial stocks. For example: electric power, steel, automobile, food, beverage, wine, textile, pharmaceutical, and other enterprises engaged in product manufacturing stocks, bonds and other securities. In the United States, industrial stocks make up a large proportion of the economy. In the process, investors can make a lot of profits. Despite more than a century of growth in such industries, there is still a lot of potential. Industrial stocks are among the areas with the longest shelf life in the United States and the world. This paper analyses the selected three companies in industrial sector the three aspects of risk, profitability and market ratio to predict basic trend in this area. Three companies are Canadian National Railway Company (CNI), Caterpillar Inc. (CAT), FedEx Corporation (FDX). The results show Canadian National Railway Company is less risky and FedEx Corporation is least profitable. The findings in this paper may benefit the different investors in financial markets on investment decisions.

The digital disruption is to transform all industries, leading to new business models based on the new technologies. In manufacturing, one model for digital disruption is Industrie 4.0. Proposals for Industrie 4.0 involve the virtualization and vertical and horizontal integration of the value chain, digital services, the digital transformation of products, the digital transformation of production equipment, the digital transformation of factories and the digital transformation of supply chains. The former two are already in place today. This article and its follow-up builds an overview of the pillars of Industrie 4.0 as addressed by the proponents of the model, by consultancy companies, by journal research, and by the customer proposition of Siemens. CapGemeni rate General Electric as a key player in the Industrial Internet in the Digital Revolution, and Siemens is its contestant. This article builds a detailed analysis of Siemens' strategy which covers the steps already made and the steps to be made in the future as a follow-up. The digital twin strategy leads the way to the next stage.

In this paper I question the likely development trajectory of electric vehicle (EV) manufacture and related advanced-transportation systems in Southern California. The large base of labor skills, technical expertise, and research and development organizations that are found in the region in the aerospace, electronics, and metalworking industries provide a solid foundation for the EV industry. These sectors also provide a legacy of industrial organization that is oriented more towards flexible production than mass production. The technological immaturity of the EV and the uncertain market it faces, combined with the existing industrial atmosphere in Southern California, suggest that early production of EVs will be organized flexibly in an industrial district uniting firms and technologies in the production of components for an advanced ground-transportation industry.

Abstract After the “3060” carbon peak and neutrality strategic goal was put forward, various industries actively responded to find new ways for energy conservation and emission reduction. In the field of automobile manufacturing, the transition from traditional fuel vehicles to electric vehicles is an inevitable trend. This paper builds a mathematical model that uses the three major indicators of carbon emissions per 100 kilometers, energy-saving emission reduction coefficients, and annual carbon emissions as parameters to measure carbon emissions benefits, and combines survey data to conduct empirical analysis to explore the advantages of electric vehicles in energy saving and emission reduction compared with traditional fuel vehicles under different power supply structures. At the same time, based on the existing data and conclusions, the research is extended to the analysis of carbon emissions prospects in decades, and the possible contribution of future electric vehicles in energy utilization and environmental protection is predicted, to explore its role in promoting the achievement of the double-carbon goal, and put forward corresponding recommendations based on the research results.

The processes of grinding dry and wet dispersed materials are common in alcohol, beer, sugar, meat, bakery, feed, chemical and a number of other industries, as well as in construction. Relevant for these processes, especially recently, in connection with the rise in the cost of energy resources, is the problem of reducing energy costs during their implementation, subject to high productivity, sufficient degree and uniformity of grinding and moderate cost of equipment for the process. The article proposes scientifically substantiated dependencies for calculating the minimum required electrical power of an experimental industrial grinder, which is considered as a replacement for hammer crushers, when used to grind wet grain of wheat, rye or corn and ensure the specified performance, taking into account the daily volume of raw materials processed at the enterprise. as well as the permissible degree of its refinement. In particular, equations were obtained to determine the power consumption for bringing the raw material in the grinder into rotary motion, for the friction between the grains of the raw material and the grinder discs, as well as the internal surfaces of its working chamber, for the friction between the grains themselves, the power required for grinding. The electric power of the grinder, the effective efficiency (41%) and the total efficiency (14%), by which it is superior to hammer crushers, have been calculated. In this work, based on the theory of contactless hydraulic seals, the analysis of possible trajectories of the particles of the processed raw materials in the working chamber of the grinder (grains of wheat, rye or corn moistened with water) is carried out, the forces acting on the particles of the raw material in the process of their movement from the axis of the grinder to the periphery of the working chamber are determined, as well as the analysis of the interaction of particles during their grinding, based on the theoretical provisions of the mechanics of quasi-solid and quasi-liquid bodies.

During pandemic, people’s lives are affected dramatically—more than 20 million people have been affected, and most companies have been affected by such virus. However, people may always consider that some industries with inelastic demands such as touring industries and new energy vehicles industries will not be affected by such crisis. By analyzing the data from specific companies, I found the difficulties and opportunities for these industries. For example, touring industry related companies can use several strategies such as promotional strategy and corporate with high-tech companies to tackle with the catastrophe. Besides, electric car industry related companies may set up their technical barriers to boost their sales. From my research, there is no real-inelastic demands for any industries, and the only method for them to survive at any time is always researching new technology and meet customers’ demands.

The research aims to evaluate the suppliers at Diyala general electric industries company conducted in an environment of uncertainty and fuzzy where there is no particular system followed by the company, and also aims to use the problem of traveling salesman problem in the process of transporting raw materials from suppliers to the company in a fuzzy environment. Therefore, a system based on mathematical methods and quantity was developed to evaluate the suppliers. Fuzzy inference system (FIS) and fuzzy set theory were used to solve this problem through (Matlab) and the problem of the traveling salesman in two stages was also solved by the first stage of eliminating the fuzzing of the environment using the rank function method, while the second stage used the method of the nearest neighbor to solve the traveling salesman problem (TSP) by drawing a path that facilitates the process of transporting raw materials in the least time where the programming (Winqsb) was used. The most important thing that was reached is the mechanism of evaluating the suppliers by giving a percentage to each supplier and also their ranking where the supplier (Japanese company) got the first place and it was (87.3) ... etc. The raw materials process was used in the least time and obtained at the lowest time of the transfer, which is 292 minutes

Infrared radiometric long-waved systems are widely used in various industries as well as in research and development. This long-waved system is the perfect tool for quick diagnosis of the state of the equipment, easy defect detection, which is reflected by higher temperatures due to increased friction and wear. Infrared radiometric long-waved systems are used especially in civil engineering, electrical engineering, metallurgy and many other industries. They are also used to optimize and improve of the production processes. The series of measurements using the infrared radiometric long-waved system in steel plant were carried out due to prepared research project. Images of temperature fields of ladles with liquid steel, cooled exhaust knee of electric arc furnace and ingot mould were obtained during solidification of steel ingot. Information about the state of wear of the refractory lining of the ladle, exhaust knee can be gained from obtained images. The obtained results can be used for more accurate numerical simulations of the process of casting and solidification of steel ingots.

Though new technologies have been applied in all industries, electric mobility technology using eco-friendly energy is drawing a great deal of attention. This research focuses on a personal electric mobility system for urban tourism. Some tourism sites such as Gyeongju, Korea, have broad spaces for tourists to walk around, but the public transportation system has been insufficiently developed due to economic reasons. Therefore, personal mobility technology such as electric scooters can be regarded as efficient alternatives. For the operation of electric scooters, a charging infrastructure is necessary. Generally, scooters can be charged via wires, but this research suggests an advanced electric personal mobility system based on wireless electric charging technology that can accommodate user convenience. A mathematical model-based optimization was adopted to derive an efficient design for a wireless charging infrastructure while minimizing total investment costs. By considering the type of tourists and their tour features, optimal locations and lengths of the static and dynamic wireless charging infrastructure are derived. By referring to this research, urban tourism can handle transportation issues from a sustainable point of view. Moreover, urban tourism will have a better chance of attracting tourists by conserving heritage sites and by facilitating outdoor activities with electric personal mobility.

Due to the changes in consumer demand and generational transformations, Kyoto’s traditional craft industry has suffered substantial revenue losses in recent years. This research aimed to characterize Kyoto’s traditional craft industry by analyzing the supplier-customer network involving individual firms within the Kyoto region. In the process, we clarify the community structure, key firms, network topological characteristics, bow-tie structure, robustness, the vulnerability of the supplier-customer network as crucial factors for sustainable growth. The community and bow-tie structure analysis became clear that the traditional craft industry continues to occupy an important position in Kyoto’s industrial network. Furthermore, we clarify the relationship between modern and traditional craft industries’ network characteristics and their relative profitability and productivity. It became evident that the traditional craft industry has a different network structure from the modern consumer games and electric machinery industries. The modern industries have the strongly coupled component, and the attendant firms there create high value-added and play a significant role in driving the entire industry, while more traditional craft industries, such as the Nishijin silk fabrics and Kyoto doll industries, do not have this strongly coupled component. Moreover, the traditional crafts industry does not have a central firm or a dense network for integrating information, which is presumed to be a factor in the decline of the traditional craft industry.

Purpose of the study: The research aims to examine the impact of factors related to the spatial distribution of industries and determine their importance in controlling the economic activity of Mahmoudiyah City to determine the direction of the industry compass on the level of this district. There are different industry types in this city, including hand or small industry, such as spinning, knitting, and fancywork industry. As well as light industry, for example, woven, cane, building materials, wooden and metallic industry.
Methodology: This research is of theoretical type, and the research method is descriptive-analytical, and the method of data collection is a library and has been done by referring to documents, books, and articles.
Results: The results showed that more of these industries mentioned above are found in Al-mahmodiya center and Al-latefiya because found labor market and its nearly of consumed as well as increase of population with different skills hands lead to the stable economic and social case. There is a challenge in the provided modern machine and discontinue of electric current, leading to decreased production.
Application: This study can be useful in the Studies of Industrial Geography.
Novelty: This field study indicates that the industrial craft is affected by choosing the suitable place for industrial plants to reduce the pollution and noise ratio in the known industrial regions and describes one of the major problems that still exists is the return of land ownership.

The COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly changed people’s lives, especially technological advancements. Most service industries have opted to adopt online payments since the pandemic happened. Electric utility companies are one of the major industries that utilize online payments as an alternative mode of payment to traditional cash payments to minimize person-to-person contact. The current study aimed to assess electric utility companies’ service quality and customer satisfaction to improve the payment system. The study was conducted in Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. (OMECO), which utilized an online payment system due to COVID-19-protocol. The research model comprises 60 questionnaires with ten sections developed from the literature and distributed to 400 participants. The data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling and path analysis technique. The results showed that Online Payment Security had the most positive effect on service quality, thus affecting customer satisfaction. Moreover, tangibility, reliability, online payment method, and COVID-19-protocol positively affected service quality. While reliability, assurance, and empathy had a negative effect on the service quality of OMECO. Aligning with the result, OMECO was poorly evaluated by the participants in terms of empathy, assurance, responsiveness, and reliability. Moreover, the result of the study can be used by major electric companies to improve their service in terms of online payment. Finally, the current research is one of the first studies that integrate service quality and customer satisfaction while utilizing the structural modeling approach.

The paper presents the results of amber extraction, which was subjected to high-voltage electric pulse treatment in order to intensify the extraction of target components. This method of processing made possible to achieve a high degree of grinding of the material and the appearance of additional micro- and macropores, which increased a total contact area of the phases required for an effective process of extracting raw materials. The processing was carried out in chambers of a high-voltage pulse-periodic generator with the storage capacities of 0.25 and 1.0 μF, an output voltage of 50 kV, and different number of pulses for the corresponding capacitor capacitance. For research, amber stones with an average size of 8.2 mm were selected. The process was carried out in an alcoholic medium with different electrical characteristics. As a result, the dependences of changes in the dry matter content, total mineralization, content of organic acids, active acidity pH, and optical density in the extract on a number of discharges at different pulse energies were obtained. The density of amber before and after processing was determined, which shows the ability of electric spark discharges to create additional porosity of the material necessary to ensure effective internal mass transfer. The results of the work can be used for the industrial implementation of electrospark processing of amber in order to obtain extracts with a complex of useful substances applicable in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.

Purpose. This study case shows the influence of the use of electric furnace slag as an aggregate with a high positive impact on the properties of poured asphalt (AC). Research results regarding the skid resistance, depth of surface texture, resistance to erosion, water absorption, pressure solidity, and pellets of clay have argued the fact that adding this slag to mixing eruptive aggregate indicates improvements of mechanical characteristics of poured asphalt and its surface layer. Methodology. Preliminary preparation of the poured asphalt blend preliminary mixture, sampling and examination of the properties are developed in accordance with standard methods: EN 12697-27:2000, SK EN 12697-36:2003, EN 12697-2:2002+A1:2007, EN 12697-8:2003, EN 12697-34:2004+A1:2007, (Marshall Test), EN 12697-6:2004, and SIST EN 12697-2:2004. Findings.The metallurgical industries for years have been using all their by-products, including slag, as valuable resources for the industry and especially in the construction materials industry. The use of this process by-product in the construction industry, mostly in road construction, is among the key factors in saving natural resources and preventing environmental pollution. Originality. For the preparation of the preliminary recipe for three types of poured asphalt (AC 0/11, 0/8 and 0/5 mm), electric furnace slag and the eruptive sand with grain size from 0 to 11 mm, 0 to 8 mm and 0 to 4 mm were used. Practical value. The use of this type of slag as an aggregate of this bituminous mixture will not only show improvement of the physical-mechanical properties of AC, but will also show high economic and environmental effects.

The paper presents the short review of the Union formation, the prospects of development and studies the possibility to converge national types of economic activity into a general mechanism. The aim of the research is to analyze operating conditions of national electric power complexes and to reveal the factors interfering the formation of common power market of the Eurasian Economic Union. The research was carried out on the basis of historical, economic, statistical, comparative, logical, factorial, and system analysis methods, which has made it possible to reveal the main obstacles impacted on the formation of the common market. As a result of the analysis, the potential of national economies, the volumes of development and consumption of electric energy, the structure of generating capacities, the cost of electric power of the states and the principles of functioning of the national power markets were presented. In course of the research it has been established that the formation of common electric power market will face the following challenges: the scale of separate national industries in relation to other national electric power complexes; divergent national industry structures influencing the final cost of electric energy tariffs; lack of technical capacity to converge national electric power complexes into a common electric power market, etc. The paper presents the mechanisms for the solution of the specified problems.

To tackle China’s rapidly aging population, a policy was framed by using overlapping generations (OLG) model and computable general equilibrium (CGE) model; the main objective was to successfully implement “second-child policy” and “delayed retirement age” for female or male workers. The 2012 census data was obtained from National Bureau of Statistics of China. Our research findings suggest that the economy can be improved in the short-term by delaying retirement age; however, Chinese economy would improve tremendously in the long run by implementing second-child policy. Compared to delayed retirement age, second-child policy would be more effective in improving the economy in China. In terms of industrial output, the three policies have a greater influence on labor-intensive industries, such as agriculture, light industry, finance, and service sector; the impact is less significant on construction and heavy industry. In terms of industrial import and export, these three policies have greatly influenced following industries: finance, electric power, and fossil energy. From a monetary perspective, these three policies can significantly improve household income; these three policies did not significantly impact both government and corporate incomes.

Fused magnesia is an essential basic material for metal making and construction industries. Fused magnesia is usually produced with mineral arc furnace. In China, 1600 kVA arc furnaces are widely used as fused magnesia production facility. The unit power consumption for magnesia production is about 3000 kWh/t, higher than that in developed countries. In this research, a 3000 kVA new arc furnace was used to produce fused magnesia, and the unit consumption decreased to 2560kWh/t. The experimental results showed that the new furnace has good energy saving effect and market prospects.

Object and purpose of research. Weather factor is relevant for almost all branches of economy. In electric power industry, the demand for energy becomes higher in autumn and winter because houses need heating. In the last decades, the topic of climate change and its implications for various industries has evolved from a theoretical question to one of the most important factors in global agenda. This paper will discuss climatic risks and their implications for the activities of FGC UES. Subject matter and methods. The organizational part of this work analyses and classifies climatic risks and discusses their contribution. Data analysis and development of analytical relationships were based on the calculation principles for technical parameters and integrated reliability indicators. Main results. The analysis of climatic effects upon electric power industry delineates the mechanism for finding the events that ensure trouble-free operation of power grid components. Climatic risks are tackled not only as hazards but also as opportunities. Conclusion. The analysis of climatic risks enables the adjustment of FGC UES power saving strategy, as well as adaptation of its power generation assets to consumer demands.

In recent years, interesting research results on fault diagnosis for electric motors have been documented. Deep learning in the fault detection of electric equipment has shown comparatively better results than traditional approaches because of its more powerful and sophisticated feature extraction capabilities. This paper covers four traditional types of deep learning models: deep belief networks (DBN), autoencoders (AE), convolutional neural networks (CNN), and recurrent neural networks (RNN), and highlights their use in detecting faults of electric motors. Finally, the issues and obstacles that deep learning encounters in the fault detection mechanism as well as the prospects are discussed and summarized.

The purpose of the article is to build a model for estimating the relative premium in mergers and acquisitions of electric power companies, based on four groups of factors: the company's operating and financial results, the country affiliation, the industry affiliation, the debt market conjuncture. The research methodology is based on a comparative business valuation method. The empirical base of the research includes data on 6504 deals that occurred throughout the world from 1997 to 2018. The research database includes data on both public and non-public companies for which the amount paid in the deal is known, as well as the value of total assets. The scientific novelty consists in clarifying the conceptual apparatus (the concept of relative premium in a deal has been introduced); the selection and grouping of factors affecting the size of the relative premium; identifying and quantifying the influence of variables included in each group of factors. The article proposed the author's approach to the grouping of countries and industries, based on the equality of premium coefficients in the regression and obtained groups of countries and industries with equal premiums. It is shown that the grouping of industries, obtained by the mathematical algorithm, almost completely corresponds to the industry structure of the electric power industry. The coefficient of determination of the final econometric model is more than 20 per cent, which can be estimated as a high-quality assessment. That is because the relative premium, not the amount paid in the deal, is predicted which is in close correlation with the value of the company's assets. The practical significance of the research study consists in the possibility of predicting the value of a business, as well as determining the value paid in a deal in cases where such information is not available in available sources.

This paper analyses the scrap-based steel slag from the electric arc furnace and secondary metallurgy and proposes a framework for valorising its value chain. Toward this aim, the role of slag features, technological advancements for the treatment of slag, applications, legislation, and their value chain in the circular economy and industrial symbiosis opportunities are discussed within the proposed framework. By interviewing a group of Italian steelmakers, accounting for around 30% of Italian scrap-based steel volume, we analyse various value chain key factors, namely, technology, legislation, production volume, and economic aspects. Consequently, we assess the as-is situation of the sector and elaborate on the challenges and expectations for the future in terms of collaboration frameworks. The results show how vertical (by internal treatment) and horizontal integrations (by collaborating with other potential industries) support decisions on material flow and facilitate circularity in sharing this kind of material. The most influential enabler in a vertical integration is the economic aspect, while in the horizontal integration the enablers are the market and technology. In this article, we present a new descriptive model for industrial flexibility with respect to power consumption. The advancing digitization in the energy sector opens up new possibilities for utilizing and automatizing the marketing of flexibility potentials and therefore facilitates a more advanced energy management. This requires a standardized description and modeling of power-related flexibility. The data model in this work has been developed in close collaboration with several partners from different industries in the context of a major German research project. A suitable set of key figures allows for also describing complex production processes that exhibit interdependencies and storage-like properties. The data model can be applied to other areas as well, e.g., power plants, plug-in electric vehicles, or power-related flexibility of households.

To protect energy resources and alleviate environmental pollution, many countries attach great importance to the transformation of traditional industries into clean energy industries. In this paper, fuel vehicles (FVs), hybrid vehicles (HVs), and electric vehicles (EVs) are included in the research. Then, based on the aging chain and coflow theory of SDs, we construct a dynamic matching model of the auto industry upgrade process and its energy consumption attributes. The simulation results of China’s auto industry show that (1) the upgrading of the auto industry is an evolutionary process from high energy consumption and high pollution to low energy consumption and no pollution and the transition from FVs and HVs to EVs will undergo two adjustments; (2) simply reducing energy supply does not have the expected impact on vehicle size and vehicle energy consumption intensity and only by adjusting the energy supply and upgrade ratios together, energy utilization efficiency can be improved; (3) market screening time has an impact on auto industry upgrade speed by affecting vehicle market share and dwell time; (4) China’s auto industry upgrade process should adhere to “problem-oriented” and strengthen consumer guidance, technology innovation, and infrastructure construction. The conclusions can provide references for industrial policy adjustment and industrial structure optimization.

In the era of globalization, manufacturing industries are facing intense pressure to prevent unexpected breakdowns, reduce maintenance cost and increase plant availability. Induction motors are the most sought-after prime movers in modern-day industries due to their robustness. Recently, research has picked up a fervent pace in the area of fault diagnosis of electrical machines. This paper presents the application of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based system to diagnose the vibration and Instantaneous Power (IP)-based responses of rolling element bearings and broken rotor bars in an induction motor. The dimensionality of the extracted features was reduced using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and thereafter the selected features were ranked in order of relevance using the Sequential Floating Forward Selection (SFFS) method for reducing the size of input features and finding the most optimal feature set. A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of SVM and ANN is carried out using statistical parameters extracted from vibration and IP signals. The highest accuracy of 92.5% and 98.2% was achieved for vibration and IP signatures, respectively, using the proposed SFFS-based feature selection technique and ANN classification method. The results reveal that ANN has better performance than SVM and the proposed strategy can be used for automatic recognition of machine faults. The use of this type of intelligent system helps in avoiding unwanted and unplanned system shutdowns due to the failure of the motor.

Battery reuse and recycling are becoming urgent worldwide priorities to protect the environment and address the increasing need for critical metals. As a review article, this paper reveals the current global battery market and global battery waste status from which the main battery chemistry types and their management, including reuse and recycling status, are discussed. This review then presents details of the challenges, opportunities, and arguments on battery second-life and recycling. The recent research and industrial activities in the battery reuse domain are summarized to provide a landscape picture and valuable insight into battery reuse and recycling for industries, scientific research, and waste management.

In modern dynamic digital conditions of interaction with external stakeholders, the future success of companies directly depends on their innovative activity, effective implementation into business processes of research and development results in the field of new technologies. The rapid development of technologies in recent years accelerates the spread of innovations, which leads to increased competition, so the organization’s ability to implement process innovations to increase its own competitiveness will determine its effectiveness and efficiency in the future. The article explores the main global technological trends by fixating on the technological spheres with the maximum number of published patent applications, as well as the average increase in the number of applications for a ten-year period in the context of technological industries. A comparison of business areas, whose representatives hold the highest rating positions in the annual world researches of innovation and success (brand value) of companies, is carried out. According to the results of the research, the most patentable technological industries are identified, which included, speaking of electrical engineering, the following: electric machines, devices, energy; digital communication and computer technologies. Among chemical technologies, the largest number of published applications was recorded in such sectors as: pharmaceuticals; chemistry of basic materials, chemical engineering. In the field of machine building, the largest number of applications was published in the transport industry sector and in relation to other special machines. The highest values of the average growth of the mentioned indicator are observed in such areas as IT methods in management, food chemistry, ecological technologies, chemical machine building, other special machines and machine-tool building. The regional aspect of technology patenting is also specified, which consists in shifting innovation activity in the emerging technological spheres towards Asian countries. The most active companies in patenting were State Grid Corp of China, Mitsubishi Electric Corp, Toyota Jidosha KK, IBM, Huawei Technologies, Samsung Electronics.

The global population has rapidly expanded in the last few decades and is continuing to increase at a rapid pace. To meet this growing food demand fish is considered a balanced food source due to their high nutritious value and low cost. Fish are rich in well-balanced nutrients, a good source of polyunsaturated fatty acids and impose various health benefits. Furthermore, the most commonly used preservation technologies including cooling, freezing, super-chilling and chemical preservatives are discussed, which could prolong the shelf life. Non-thermal technologies such as pulsed electric field (PEF), fluorescence spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging technique (HSI) and high-pressure processing (HPP) are used over thermal techniques in marine food industries for processing of most economical fish products in such a way as to meet consumer demands with minimal quality damage. Many by-products are produced as a result of processing techniques, which have caused serious environmental pollution. Therefore, highly advanced technologies to utilize these by-products for high-value-added product preparation for various applications are required. This review provides updated information on the nutritional value of fish, focusing on their preservation technologies to inhibit spoilage, improve shelf life, retard microbial and oxidative degradation while extending the new applications of non-thermal technologies, as well as reconsidering the values of by-products to obtain bioactive compounds that can be used as functional ingredients in pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food processing industries.
