Resumo: O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi observar como coletivos feministas no Brasil estão (ou não) se apropriando e usando as novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TICs) e como as questões sobre gênero estão circulando nesses novos meios. Principalmente no período pós Segunda Guerra Mundial escolas distintas (como a Escola de Frankfurt e a Escola de Toronto de Comunicação, entre outras) tiveram como objetivo entender o lugar das TICs na sociedade, alternando abordagens mais tecnofóbicas ou tecnofílicas. Uma das preocupações desta pesquisa foi mostrar a relação entre as teorizações sobre comunicação e mídia e os coletivos feministas, observando se as abordagens acima mencionadas se fazem (ou não) presentes nas publicações online de grupos de defesa da mulher quando estas tratam das questões de gênero. Após apresentar um panorama da relação entre as feministas brasileiras e a mídia a partir, principalmente, de periódicos (desde o século XIX até o século XXI), esta dissertação traz como corpus de análise o material produzido e publicado no formato e-zine (eletronic fanzine) pelo Grupo de Ação Feminista (GAFe), de Florianópolis (SC). Dentre os quesitos ponderados na escolha desse material estão o período de sua produção, a constante publicação de novos tópicos e o contato entre esse grupo e outros movimentos sociais. A abordagem metodológica adotada foi híbrida - análise de conteúdo e pesquisa interpretativa - e objetivou a saturação dos dados. Os resultados apontam que o coletivo promove uma profunda crítica à subordinação feminina ao aparelho genital e à perpetuação da dualidade de gênero, sendo temas como violência, aborto e direitos da mulher os mais debatidos. As considerações finais mostram que apesar do GAFe se auto identificar como um coletivo de mulheres e homens que buscam o fim da dualidade de gênero e de afirmarem que o feminismo não é o contrário do machismo, o seu material no geral apresenta uma preocupação maior com questões femininas e delegam ao homem geralmente a figura de opressor. Com relação ao seu posicionamento frente à comunicação e à mídia, tanto momentos tecnofóbicos quanto tecnofílicos são observados
Abstract: The aim of this research was to observe how feminist groups in Brazil are (or are not) taking control and using new information and communication technology (ICT) and how gender issues are moving through these new media. Mainly after the World War II different schools (as Frankfurt School and Toronto School, among others) had as their goal to understand which place the ICTs had in our society, switching more technophobic and technophilic approaches. This research was concerned about showing the relation between communication and media theories and the feminist groups, observing if the approaches mentioned before can (or cannot) be found in online publications of women defense groups when they talk about gender issues. After showing a brief view of the relation between Brazilian feminism and the media, mainly through newspapers (since the 19th century until the 21st century), this dissertation has as its corpus the material produced and published in an electronic fanzine format by Grupo de Ação Feminista (GAFe), from Florianopolis (Santa Catarina State). Among the aspects considered to choose that specific material are (a) how long its production lasted, (b) the frequency of new publications and (c) the contact the group had with other social movements. The methodological approach was hybrid - content analysis and interpretative research - and it aimed the data saturation. The results demonstrate the group has a heavy criticism about women subordination to the female reproductive system and about the gender dualism, and themes as violence, abortion and women's rights as the most debated ones. The Final Considerations show that although considering itself as a group of men and women who search for the end of the gender dualism and stating the feminism is not the opposite of sexism, the material produced by GAFe presents, in general, more debates about women's issues and men have the role of the oppressor. Esta pesquisa se desenha entre o universo das cartas e dos zines a partir da anÃlise de correspondÃncias de zineiros endereÃadas ao zine-catÃlogo Esputinique, produzido em Fortaleza entre 2002 e 2005. Interessa-nos entender os modos de subjetivaÃÃo construÃdos entre um grupo de correspondentes-zineiros que se organizavam em torno de encontros permeando a escrita das cartas com elementos de construÃÃo literÃria, afetiva e artÃstica. Tais cartas se referem aos encontros, ao sentido de pertenÃa à rede, à criaÃÃo, Ãs experiÃncias enquanto estas acontecem e podem ser lidas como um diÃrio de campo coletivo e compartilhado, construÃdo aos poucos e de forma bastante fragmentada. SÃo registros fÃsicos da existÃncia da rede, alÃm de uma das formas atravÃs das quais a rede à tecida. Buscar entrelaÃamentos entre os dois universos à deparar-se com zonas hÃbridas entre pÃblico e privado, modos de criaÃÃo, diferentes temporalidades, arte e comunicaÃÃo.
This research is outlined between the zines and letters universes, starting from the analysis of the zinesters correspondence sent to the zine-catalogue Esputinique, made in Fortaleza from 2002 to 2005. We are interested in understanding the modes of being constructed among a group of zinesters-correspondents which organized themselves around meetings permeating the writing of letters with artistic, affective and literary construction elements. Such letters referred to the meetings, to the sense of belonging to the net, to creation, to experiences while they happen and can be read as a collective and shared field diary, slowly built and in a very fragmented way. They are physical registers of the existence of the net, and beyond, one of the ways through which it is weaved. To look for entanglements between these two universes is to face hybrid zones between public and private, ways of creation, multiple temporalities, art and communication.

La bicicleta sirve para pensar, es una buena terapia introspectiva, para ordenar nuestro mundo interno y que con otras actividades es difícil de hacer. La bicicleta permite este auto análisis, de hecho uno se despeja, se desbloquea. Cambia el animo, se va el stress, y el malhumor esta actividad otorga mucha libertad, es fácil darse cuenta (para quien es ciclista) cuando alguien anda en bicicleta y cuando no lo hace, hay una “mentalidad” diferente, una visión distinta, una forma de relacionarse con otros también diferente, se valoran otras cosas, las necesidades también son distintas. Dentro del mundo ciclista que nos rodea existen grupos dentro de los cuales están los ciclistas urbanos , este grupo de ciclistas (que será determinado con mayor profundidad dentro de los contenidos de esta memoria), no se identifica con agrupaciones o movimientos. Es un personaje que se preocupa de vivir la ciudad de manera optimista, a pesar de los problemas que esta urbe pueda presentarle. Sin embargo esta visión, a pesar de lo optimista no es conocida y la sociedad santiaguina tiende a asociar al ciclista como un invasor o un personaje raro dentro de la urbe, se le separa de esta, a tal punto que hasta hace poco no tenia lugares definidos, por donde transitar. Esta mentalidad está cambiando y la actitud de los ciclistas hacia su entorno también, este cambio de origen social radica en las influencias provenientes del extranjero respecto a cultura ciclista y a como el ciclista está siendo cada vez mas aceptado como un habitante de la ciudad dicho fenómeno es el que da origen a este proyecto, siendo el objetivo el presentar este nuevo enfoque del ciclismo urbano..

Atualmente, cerca de 18 compostos são utilizados como biocidas de reforço (metálicos) em tintas anti-incrustantes, como por exemplo Piritionato de Zinco (Zn(PT)2), Zineb e Ziram. É relevante o desenvolvimento de um método analítico para determinação das concentrações ambientais de biocidas metálicos. O presente estudo teve como objetivos i)desenvolver uma metodologia de extração em fase sólida (SPE) e cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência acoplada (HPLC) ao espectrômetro de massas com plasma acoplado indutivamente (ICP-MS) para determinação de Zn(PT)2, Zineb e Ziram e ii) quantificar, in lab, a fração lábil total do Piritionato de Zinco, Zineb e Ziram e in situ, a fração lábil total do zinco, utilizando a técnica de difusão em filmes finos por gradiente de concentração (DGT) em solução padrão e água estuarina, respectivamente. Na técnica de SPE foi utilizado o sorbente de sílica funcionalizado com fenil apresentando excelente retenção para Zn(PT)2, Zineb e Ziram (94 ± 0,1%, 85 ± 0,04% e 93 ± 0,1%, respectivamente) e recuperações entre 85% e 110%. Na determinação dos biocidas de zinco utilizando o acoplamento HPLC-VGroove-ICP-MS com diluição pós coluna cromatográfica, a fase móvel composta por metanol e 0,006 mol L-1 de acetato de amônio (50:50, v v-1) apresentou o melhor desempenho na separação do Zn(PT)2, Zineb, Ziram. A curva analítica obtida para o Zn(PT)2 apresentou coeficiente de correlação, LD e LQ satisfatórios para os isótopos 64Zn (0,98, 0,575 mg L-1, 1,916 mg L-1), 66Zn(0,99, 0,480 mg L-1 , 1,600 mg L-1), 68Zn(0,98, 0,602 mg L-1, 2,007 mg L-1). Na técnica DGT foi utilizado o agente ligante resina Chelex® 100 para avaliar a labilidade do Zn(PT)2, Zineb e Ziram em água estuarina. Os resultados demonstraram que a fração lábil total do Zn ficou em torno de 100% para o Zineb (111%) e Ziram (109%), ou seja, estes biocidas formaram espécies totalmente lábeis na amostra de água estuarina e para Zn(PT)2 foi de 75% indicando espécies parcialmente lábeis. Os resultados obtidos na técnica SPE, no acoplamento HPLC-VGroove-ICP-MS e DGT demonstraram que os métodos apresentam desempenho satisfatório para a determinação de Piritionato de Zinco, Zineb e Ziram.

In the SPE technique, the silica sorbent functionalized with phenyl presented excellent retention for Zn(PT)2, Zineb and Ziram (94 ± 0.1%, 85 ± 0.04% and 93 ± 0.1%, respectively) and recoveries between 85% and 110%. In the determination of zinc using the HPLC-VGroove-ICP-MS coupling with post-column chromatographic dilution, the mobile phase composed of methanol and 0.006 mol L-1 of ammonium acetate (50:50, v v-1) of presented the best performance in the separation of Zn(PT)2, Zineb and Ziram. The analytical curve obtained for Zn(PT)2 presented satisfactory correlation coefficient, LD and LQ for the isotopes 64Zn (0.98, 0.575 mg L -1, 1.916 mg L-1), 66Zn (0.99, 0.480 mg L-1, 1.600 mg L-1), 68Zn (0.98, 0.602 mg L-1, 2.007 mg L-1). In the DGT technique, the Chelex® 100 resin binder was used to evaluate the lability of the zinc biocides Zn(PT)2, Zineb and Ziram in estuarine water. The results showed that the total labile fraction of Zn was around 100% for Zineb (111%) and Ziram (109%), that is, these biocides formed totally labile species in the estuarine water sample and for Zn(PT)2 was 75% indicating partially labile species. The results obtained in the SPE technique in the HPLC-VGroove-ICP-MS coupling and DGT demonstrated that the methods present satisfactory performance for the determination of Zn(PT)2, Zineb and Ziram.

This thesis analyzes submission-oriented Latina/o zines based in South Texas. Each publication circulates nationally and internationally, featuring artistic submissions from this network. Through three case studies, this thesis investigates zines’ roles in forming spaces, both discursive and physical, for feminist, queer, Latina/o identity-making. The three case studies of South Texas-based zines are: St. Sucia, founded by Isabel Ann Castro and Natasha I. Hernandez in San Antonio, Texas (2014), Muchacha Fanzine, founded by Daisy Salinas in San Antonio, Texas (2012), and ChingoZine, in Austin, Texas (2012). These collaborative zines challenge the celebrated individualism of the modern artist by privileging a collective platform over the individual voice. The editors of these zines weave together submitted multimedia works—written, photographed, painted, drawn—into a curated selection that exhibits an alternative artistic network. These zines exemplify key aspects of contemporary artistic production: they are collectively authored, privilege lived experience over artistic training, and foreground alternate personal narratives. These works thus reshape the art historical narrative of U.S. contemporary art away from largely white, largely male, New York-based artists working in a succession of trends (Minimalism, Conceptual Art, Neo Geo, Appropriation, etc.). Instead, these zines foreground queer, female, artists of color whose work brings historical Latina artistic and punk subcultures in dialogue with contemporary political commitments to revising art history. As objects of study, a zine-focused approach for an art historical analysis calls attention to the alternative approaches to artmaking and understanding of art. The creators, contributors, and readers of these works hold many roles, thus the zines themselves become avenues through which to understand the social role of artmaking. These zines disorder archival divisions to reinterpret contemporary art of the U.S. as already transnational, as already inflected by feminist thinking, and as overtly queer.

This project is an examination of the communication and publishing implications of producing an e-zine delivered to readers via e-mail with print-magazine style presentation, and then supporting it with a website.Several communication issues are raised, such as the potential for reaching international audiences for little or no additional effort and cost. The very structure of the publishing environment is opened to question by this style of communicating and the model preferred by the publisher is constantly open to review - particularly when the potential to direct influence of the audience on the final product is taken into account.This project has indicated some avenues for maximising the potential for this style of web publishing down a number of paths, including that of becoming a true multi-media production. At the same time it has raised many questions on the future of publishing, the internet, and the world wide web, while highlighting the relative infancy of the sector.

The aim of the study was influence of the complex of two elements (zinc, selenium) and two vitamins (vit C, vit E) on the organism of pigs under heat stress. Twenty boars of the Duroc breed were included in the experiment. The boars were approximately the same age and weight, housed individually. They were divided into 2 groups. The control group (n = 6) was fed only to a basic feed mixture containing 0.02 mg Se; 21.5 mg Zn; 9.9 mg of vitamin E and 16.0 mg of vitamin C. In addition, 0.5 mg of selenomethionine, 70 mg of alpha-tocopherol, 70 mg of zinc oxide and 350 mg of ascorbic acid were added to the diet (n = 6). The experiment took place from June to September at the insemination station in Velké Meziříčí. The control group showed a slight increase in ejaculate volume (by 19 %), which is common in the summer months. At the same time, the sperm concentration was unstable, it increased by 15 % in August, but fell below the baseline by 3.5 % in September. Motility was around 69 % during the experiment. Statistically significant was an increase (by 15 %) of morphologically abnormal sperm in the ejaculate (P < 0.05). The experimental group had higher ejaculate from the beginning. However, the volume curve was almost identical to the experimental group. The sperm concentration increased by 23 % in the trial group after adding antioxidants. During the experiment the concentration only slightly decreased. Motility in the experimental group averaged 70 % and did not change significantly during the experiment. Even in the control group there was a statistically significant increase in morphologically abnormal sperm (by 12.3 %), (P <0.05). From the results it can be concluded that the increased amount of selected antioxidants did not have a demonstrable effect on the improvement of the ejaculate quality, but it can be assumed that this quantity has ensured the stability of the seed parameters.

A Internet mudou o mundo! Esta (r)evolução é de tal ordem que praticamente nenhum campo da actividade humana ficou imune. O mundo digital reformulou conceitos como velocidade, eficiência, abrangência ou personalização, inventou hábitos de consumo e implicou alterações dramáticas nas actividades comerciais. O marketing e a publicidade como elemento do Mix da comunicação são disso exemplos paradigmáticos. Este trabalho de investigação dedica-se ao estudo de um dos formatos de publicidade e marketing online mais populares: a newsletter. Esta, como ferramenta privilegiada de comunicação, quando eficientemente usada, é uma “arma” comercial poderosíssima, embora de muito difícil manipulação. O desenvolvimento deste estudo compreende então o necessário enquadramento teórico, analisa os seus diferentes elementos constituintes, preocupa-se com as suas particularidades de utilização, e estabelece o seu enquadramento numa campanha de e-mail marketing e num plano de e-marketing. Para evitar o carácter abstracto de uma reflexão apenas teórica, recorre-se a um estudo de caso da plataforma da E-goi, ilustrando assim o fenómeno em Portugal. A parte empírica, recorrendo a entrevistas e questionários, procura verificar as hipóteses apresentadas na parte teórica, as quais complementam ou actualizam o panorama no domínio nacional. O objectivo principal é a análise das características das campanhas de e-mail marketing e a relação com a sua eficácia. As conclusões valorizam entre outras características: a relevância dos conteúdos, a introdução de incentivos; a personalização da mensagem; a preocupação com a privacidade; a preferência por uma periodicidade de contacto adequada, a verificação da mensagem contra filtros de spam e a adopção do formato HTML como formato de envio.
The Internet has changed the world! This (r)evolution, is such that practically no field of human activity has been untouched. The digital world has reformulated concepts such as speed, efficiency, coverage or customization. It has invented consumption habits and implied dramatic changes in commercial activities. Marketing and Publicity, this one as part of the communication Mix, are paradigmatic examples of these changes. This research is dedicated to the study of the most popular form of publicity and marketing online: the newsletter. The newsletter is considered a privileged instrument of communication. When it is used efficiently, it can be a very powerful “weapon”, although it is considered a very difficult to manipulate. This investigation understands the necessary theoretical framing and analyses the different elements by which the newsletter is composed. This project is concerned in illustrating particularities of use and it establishes a framing related to e-mail, marketing and e-marketing. In order to avoid an abstract nature of the study with only a theoretical approach, I have resorted to a case study of the E-goi platform, which is a clear example of this phenomenon in Portugal. The empirical part, which includes interviews and questionnaires tries to verify the hypothesis shown in the theoretical part, which complement or update the outlook considering the national field. The main goal is to analyse the features of the e-mail and marketing campaigns and their relation to efficiency. The conclusions value, among other features, the importance of the content, the incentives included, the customization of the message, the concern with the privacy of others, the preference for an appropriate contact frequency, the control of the message against spam filters and the preference for a HTML format in the process of sending.

A imprensa de música extrema é uma área vasta que pode ser estuda transdisciplinarmente. Apesar das possibilidades académicas, há pouquíssimos trabalhos científicos em português. Esta dissertação almeja mudar um pouco o cenário, concentrando-se na media especializada em música extrema em Portugal, nos casos da revista Loud e Ultraje e, tendo como universo suplementar, as webzines Loudness Magazine, Metal Imperium, Portuguese Distortion, Songs for the Deaf Radio, e a revista digital World of Metal. Partindo-se da pergunta "como funciona a imprensa especializada em música extrema em Portugal?", pretendeu-se compreender de uma maneira holística de que forma se estrutura este nicho editorial, a longevidade e funções deste tipo de media em relação ao nicho que representa. Adicionalmente, procurou-se caracterizar a posição do fã dentro desta atividade e como este se relaciona com os agentes dentro cena. Para tal, numa fase inicial, estudaram-se os elementos definidores desta música, seguida de um enquadramento teórico da cena de música extrema portuguesa. Na segunda fase, examinou-se a história das revistas físicas e zines em Portugal e como a conjuntura evoluiu para a criação da Loud e da Ultraje, recorrendo-se à análise de conteúdo qualitativa e entrevistas exploratórias e semiestruturadas com os agentes que são fulcrais para este trabalho: os escritores das revistas e zines. Assim, concluiu-se que a aposta em conteúdos originais e na publicidade direcionada é essencial para a sustentação da imprensa que, dentro da cena, funciona com base rede de comunicação que opera paralelamente com o mercado adjacente onde há uma troca de informação-divulgação.
The extreme music press comprehends a vast area which can be studied transdisciplinary. Notwithstanding its academic possibilities, there are scarce scientific works in Portuguese. This dissertation aims to change the scenario, even if slightly, focusing on the specialized media in extreme music in Portugal, concretely the cases of Loud and Ultraje magazines, and as supplemental universe, the Loudness Magazine, Metal Imperium, Portuguese Distortion, SFTD Radio webzines and the digital publication World of Metal. Bearing in mind the research question "how does the specialized press in extreme music work in Portugal?", the author intends to understand in a holistic manner the way it is structured, its longevity and the functions this type of media has related to the niche it represents. Additionally, it seeks to characterize the fans positions inside this activity and how does it relate with its agents. To achieve these targets, the music defining elements were studied, followed by a theoretical framework of the Portuguese extreme music scene. Subsequently, it was examined how the history of magazines and zines in Portugal evolved to conjuncture which allowed the Loud and Ultraje creation, using qualitative content analysis and exploratory and semi-structured interviews with the agents – the magazines and zines writers - which are crucial for this dissertation. In conclusion, the investment in original contents and directed publicity are essential for the media sustainability which functions based on a communication network inside the scene. Likewise, it also operates parallelly with the adjacent market where there is a constant exchange of information-divulgation.
