Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the feat of 57 fighters of the defenders of Stalingrad in the second half of October 1942. As part of eight Siberian divisions that took an active part in the defensive period of the Battle of Stalingrad, rifle division No. 112, formed in late 1941 - early 1942, distinguished itself. in the city of Tatarsk, Novosibirsk region. In July-August 1942, the 112th Rifle Division fought defensive battles in the Don area as part of the 64th and then the 62nd armies of the Stalingrad Front. During the formation of the 112th Rifle Division, Lieutenant Alexei Ochkin was appointed commander of the tank destroyer unit. For the battles in the bend of the Don, the lieutenant was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. By the end of August 1942, the 112th Rifle Division received reinforcements and on September 19-20, 1942, participated in the assault on Mamaev Kurgan, in which Aleksey Ochkin and his fighters bravely fought. On October 14, 1942, Hitler launched the third assault on Stalingrad by the troops of the Paulus army in order to throw the 62nd Army into the Volga and completely capture the territory of the city. The blow was struck on the northern flank of the 62nd Army, centered in the area of the Stalingrad Tractor Plant, which was defended by the 112th Rifle Division, the 95th Rifle Division, and the 37th Guards Rifle Division. After heavy fighting, the 37th Rifle Division was defeated, the 95th Rifle Division, drained of blood, retreated south to a neighboring factory, the remnants of the 112th Rifle Division were divided into separate resistance groups. Lieutenant Alexei Ochkin gathered the remaining fighters from different units, about 60 people in total, and took command of the group. For about a week they kept the defense on the banks of the Volga. When the replenishment approached, only 6 people remained from the detachment. The feat of this group went unnoticed. The author of the article is trying to understand why this happened and what was the fate of the remaining fighters from the "57 Immortals".

Abstract (sommario):
The rabies virus, which mostly originates from the bite of a sick dog or cat and spreads, kills tens of thousands of people each year, and it is super lethal, with almost no one surviving the infection, s so, everyone is afraid of it. The main body of the rabies virus is bullet-shaped, and each combination of proteins in it is an innate destroyer. From the destruction of cells by the G and M proteins to the transcription of the P and L proteins in concert with each other, the precision, and division of labor of the rabies virus are obvious. Of these, the L protein is the key to the operation of everything, and this paper will explore the destruction of each protein, thereby stopping the spread of RABV. In particular, the possibility that the L protein, unlike rabies vaccines currently on the market, might be a future drug design idea by destroying the structure of RABV after the virus enters the cell. Keywords: Rabies, RABV, Protein Matching, L protein.

Abstract (sommario):
AbstractComparing the Liao, the Chinggisid and the Qing successive incorporations of Inner Asia, this article is prepared to argue that the hereditary divisional system that these Inner Asian empires employed to incorporate and administer their nomadic population was the engine that generated what scholars see either as ‘tribes’ or ‘aristocratic order’. This divisional system, because of its hereditary membership and rulership, invariably tended to produce autonomous lordships with distinct names and identities unless the central government took measures to curb the tendency. Whenever the central power waned, these divisions emerged as independent powers in themselves and their lords as contenders for the central power. The Chinggisid power structure did not destroy any tribal order; instead, it destroyed and incorporated a variety of former Liao politico-administrative divisions into its own decimally organized minqans and transformed the former Liao divisions into quasi-political named categories of populace, the irgens, stripping them of their own politico-administrative structures. In turn, the Qing, in incorporating Mongolia, divided the remains of the Chinggisid divisions, the tümens and otogs, into khoshuu and transformed them into quasi-political ayimaqs. Thus, it was the logic of the imperial incorporation and the hereditary divisional system that produced multiple politico-administrative divisions and quasi-political identity categories.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This paper develops out of a specific event. In 2020, the town of Münsingen in the Swabian Alps commissioned its authors to write a historical report on the Italian Fascist Monterosa Division, focusing on its function and role in the German occupation of Italy from 1944 to 1945. The issue to be clarified was the extent to which the division was involved in war crimes during this period. The background to the request was a monument erected in 1986 in the Ehrenhain, Münsingen’s „grove of honour“, by the division’s veterans’ association (Associazione degli appartenenti alla divisione Monterosa). This monument has since led to repeated controversy and heated debate over its Fascist symbolism and the division’s involvement in anti-partisan warfare in Italy. Our paper focuses on the experience of officers in the Fascist regime, the division’s operations against partisans and at the front, its crimes, and the attempts of the veterans’ association in the post-war period to gain official recognition in both Germany and Italy. The Monterosa Mountain Division was created in 1943/1944 by Benito Mussolini’s Repubblica sociale italiana (RSI) as one of four military divisions to join front-line combat with the German Army in Italy. Largely composed of young conscripts from Northern Italy, its older non-commissioned officers had extensive war experience from the Italian occupation of Greece and the Balkans, and from the Eastern Front. Its commander, General Mario Carloni, was a hardliner, an energetic, ruthless, and politicised Fascist officer who after the collapse of the Italian state in 1943 chose to continue fighting for Mussolini’s side and to support the German occupation of Italy. German instructors trained the Monterosa Division in Münsingen. In late August 1944, it was sent to Italy and assigned to coastal defense duties on the east coast of Liguria, an area almost completely controlled by partisans. The division thus became involved in anti-partisan actions and began to take hostages, shoot civilians and prisoners of war, and destroy village houses. In 1951, a division association was founded, with former General Carloni as its honorary president. Until 2001, it tried in vain to gain recognition from the Associazione Nazionale Alpini (ANA), the most important veterans’ and reservists’ association of Italian mountain troops. In Germany, on the other hand, the former Monterosa soldiers found faster access to veterans’ associations. The first visit by former division members to Münsingen took place as early as 1952. In the 1970s, these visits became increasingly regular and were given official sanction. During the 1980s, the division association’s connections further expanded and ultimately resulted in the erection of a memorial to the fallen. In Germany, of all places, the RSI veterans received the recognition that was so difficult for them to obtain in their home country.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In the literature, the information structure of the hold-up problem is typically assumed to be exogenous. In this paper, we introduce an additional stage at which the head office may grant individual divisions access to an information system before they undertake their specific investments. Although more information ceteris paribus enhances each divisions’ profits, more information can reduce divisions’ investments and destroy synergies for the other division that would have been generated by the investments. If this negative effect dominates, then information can be harmful for the entire company. Hence, information control can be a subtle force to deal with the hold-up problem to a certain extent. In this paper we analyze those conditions under which information is either harmful or beneficial for central management.

Abstract (sommario):
e14633 Background: Genomic segments of oncogenic viruses, when found inside healthy cell nuclei, can induce changes in the cell’s own genome during division, creating a transmittable change of genetic information. The new malignant cells thus created are recognized as foreign and destroyed by cellular immunity Thymuslymphocytes. Otherwise, unrecognised by the immune system and allowed to breed abnormally, such cells result in a malignant tumour mass, diagnosed as cancer. Based on this original theoretical explanation, we achieved the successful synthetization of a human heterologous anticancer Bi-Vaccine, further successfully confirming its prophylactic and curative abilities through the laboratory and clinic treatment of voluntary patients. Methods: Thymuslymphocytes, prepared though in indoor in vitro cultures and equipped with new and selective genetic information, acquire the ability to recognize cancerous cells as foreign cells, destroying them anywhere in the human body. The Bi-vaccine has been produced as the union of two vaccines: 1.the antitoxin, anti-tumour vaccine which destroys free toxins in the blood stream and in the pertinent cancerous cells; and 2.the thymus lymphocytic vaccine, equipped with new selective genetic information to destroy malignant tumour cells. Results: Thus the Bi-vaccine cures cancer until complete healing and protects subjects of all ages against the uncontrolled growth of malignant cells. The Bi-vaccine is produced in its live and dry state. Results: Over the years, there are treated and cured hundreds of voluntary patients with various forms of cancer. Successful healing in casses with advanced cancer (incurable casses). The Bi-vaccine is patented by European patents office-EP 1523991B1 as an anti-cancer vaccine "Human Heterologous Anti-Cancer Bi-Vaccine”. Conclusions: After more studies of several decades of all cases with different forms of cancer, treated with the “Bi-vaccine”has confirmed a complete success in various forms of cancer. Abstract (sommario):
Fertilization of clam oocytes initiates a series of cell divisions, of which the first three--meiosis I, meiosis II, and the first mitotic division--are highly synchronous. After fertilization, protein synthesis is required for the successful completion of every division except meiosis I. When protein synthesis is inhibited, entry into meiosis I and the maintenance of M phase for the normal duration of meiosis occur normally, but the chromosomes fail to interact correctly with the spindle in meiosis II metaphase. By contrast, inhibition of protein synthesis immediately after completion of meiosis or mitosis stops cells entering the next mitosis. We describe the behavior of cyclins A and B in relation to these "points of no return." The cyclins are synthesized continuously and are rapidly destroyed shortly before the metaphase-anaphase transition of the mitotic cell cycles, with cyclin A being degraded in advance of cyclin B. Cyclin destruction normally occurs during a 5-min window in mitosis, but in the monopolar mitosis that occurs after parthenogenetic activation of clam oocytes, or when colchicine is added to fertilized eggs about to enter first mitosis, the destruction of cyclin B is strongly delayed, whereas proteolysis of cyclin A is maintained in an activated state for the duration of metaphase arrest. Under either of these abnormal conditions, inhibition of protein synthesis causes a premature return to interphase that correlates with the time when cyclin B disappears.

Abstract (sommario):
The paper investigates the existing mathematical models of insulation destruction. It has been determined that most of the models for assessing the residual life of insulation are based on models of thermal and thermo-oxidative destruction of insulation materials. Currently, solid dielectrics are gaining popularity, including crosslinked polyethylene, PVC, ethylene-propylene rubber, and others. In such dielectrics, it is possible to estimate the residual life in the short term. This possibility and necessity is due to the possibility of growth of tree defects under the influence of partial discharges. The article describes the proposed mathematical model for assessing the residual resource of insulation by modeling the growth of a defect. To take into account the influence of random variables, the model uses the Weibull distribution. The model assumes the division of the insulation thickness into some areas, each of which is destroyed independently of the others. The destruction of these areas occurs when partial discharges occur with certain energy sufficient to destroy the material. Insulation failure is predicted using the least squares method. The results obtained can be useful in assessing the residual life of insulating materials and in conducting research in this area

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract: As recognized among the textual witnesses, the first word in Isa 15:5aβ, [inline-graphic 01i], has multiple meanings. The form can mean “her gate bars,” which coheres with the preceding verses concerning Moab’s destroyed cities (Isa 15:1–5a), or “her refugees,” which coheres with verses concerning the flight of Moab’s refugees (Isa 15:5b–9). Despite the polysemy evinced among the textual witnesses, [inline-graphic 01i] is generally translated as “her refugees” in modern scholarship. Moreover, some scholars have observed a unit division between vv. 4 and 5, further distancing the possibility of reading [inline-graphic 01i] in the context of vv. 1–4 and thus appreciating the polysemy of the word. Through the use of delimitation criticism, I argue that the ancient witnesses did not observe a unit division between vv. 4 and 5. Moreover, the double meanings of [inline-graphic 01i] hinge the chapter together, both reflecting on Moab’s destroyed cities (vv. 1–4) and anticipating the flight of her refugees (vv. 5–9).

Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT The milk-ejection reflex was studied in anaesthetized, lactating Wistar rats in order to evaluate the contribution of the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) to the patterning of milk ejection and the facilitatory action of centrally administered oxytocin. In the first series of experiments, radiofrequency lesions were performed and centred: (1) antero-dorsal to the PVN, damaging parts of the medial septum and anterior hypothalamus; (2) in the PVN, such that much of the parvocellular division was destroyed, but parts of the magnocellular division remained intact; or (3) in the PVN, destroying both parvocellular and magnocellular divisions. Suckling tests performed before and after lesioning showed that the milk-ejection interval was significantly increased (decreased frequency) after lesioning in groups 2 and 3, but that milk-ejection amplitude was significantly decreased only in group 3. These results suggest that damage to the parvocellular division of the PVN affects milk-ejection frequency, but that damage to the magnocellular PVN only affects amplitude. Subsequent tests on rats injected into the PVN with the neurotoxin N-methyl-d,l-aspartate revealed a fall in the amplitude and frequency of milk ejection, similar to that after complete radiofrequency lesions of the PVN. In the second series of experiments, the facilitatory action of centrally administered oxytocin (1 mU, 2.2 ng) was examined in animals bearing either sham or complete PVN lesions. In both groups, intracerebroventricular injection of oxytocin was able to increase the frequency of milk ejections, although the incidence of milk ejection was lower in the pre- and post-injection period in the PVN-lesioned animals. In conclusion, the parvocellular component of the PVN may be an important site for regulating milk-ejection frequency, possibly mediated by its centrally projecting oxytocin neurones. However, the PVN does not appear to be the principle target site by which central oxytocin exerts its facilitatory effect on the frequency of milk ejection. Abstract (sommario):
Our society is developing and growing fast in all aspects like civilization, scientific knowledge and economy. But it is a fact that a particular division of people in the society is still suffering and they are not able to come out from their dejected situation of life considered as the underclass people. A compass in the ship is a device which helps the sailor to show the directions and guides him to reach the shore safely when he is in the mid of the sea. Likewise, literature is a device which guides the good path to the people who lives in this universe. Literature is like a glass which reflects on the society. and it is also called as the treasury vault for our civlized culture. In Tamil literature, the novels register the congregation’s history. Most of the novels throws a light on the happenings of realism. but the novels majorly focus on the overall biological life of the underclass people by detailing their cultural positions, social existence, habituation, relationship status, professional system and their problems. this research paper or essay analyses on the life of the cremators, whose entries are very rarely unseen and updated among this novel.

Abstract (sommario):
According to surveys conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation, over the 10 years from 2012 to 2022, the social acceptability of divorces in Russia has increased. Residents of the country have become more likely to recognize as valid all the reasons for divorce provided in the questionnaires of both surveys. When a husband or wife demands a divorce because of the inappropriate behavior of the other spouse (adultery, drunkenness, physical violence, etc.), the reason for the divorce is objective. If someone demands to terminate the marriage due to the fact that he does not love a spouse who has not violated the rules of family life, then the reason is subjective. Divorces for objective reasons destroy many families, but the social institution of the family is destroyed only when society also recognizes the subjective reasons for divorce as valid. After that, people no longer believe that the strength of marriage depends on their behavior in the family. This leads to a decrease in the number of marriages and the birth rate. To increase the effectiveness of measures to increase the birth rate, it is necessary to influence public opinion about the reasons for which a marriage can be dissolved. In addition, the divorce laws need to be changed. In cases of a dispute between former spouses about the division of property or about which of them will have children, the courts should take into account the guilt of the husband or wife in the divorce.

Abstract (sommario):
In some areas of Britain landscape reorganization in the post-Roman period has not destroyed earlier systems of land division, which have instead been preserved in modern arrangements. Topographic analysis of landscapes on the heavier soils of East Anglia reveals sometimes very extensive co-axial field systems of probable later prehistoric origin. Other such systems, however, are probably of later date. Co-axial planning may be not a continuous tradition of landscape organization, but rather a recurringly adopted solution to the problem of competing claims to large areas of open land.

Abstract (sommario):
The Marine Pollution Program of NOAA/NESDIS's Satellite Analysis Branch (SAB) consists of manual detection and mapping of oil slicks through the use of available moderate to high resolution visible imagery such as MODIS (NASA), Landsat-7 (USGS) and SPOT-5 (CNES). Prior to 2012, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery from ENVISAT (ESA) was acquired in addition to visible imagery for satellite-based oil spill detection. Frequently oil spills are small in size and short in duration, but there have been times when events have continued to persist for weeks, months and even years. Located approximately 10 miles southeast of the Mississippi River Delta in the Gulf of Mexico resides the former location of the now destroyed Taylor Energy oil rig. This platform was damaged in 2004 during the passage of Hurricane Ivan and since then small surface oil slicks and sheens have been observed in satellite imagery originated from the site. Surface slicks or sheens associated with this source are frequently detected in satellite imagery analysis (>110 images since August 2010). Slicks are typically aligned along the isobaths (southwest to northeast) with typical dimensions of 0.5–2 km by 10–30 km varying with wind conditions (i.e. longer slicks tend to be more visible in satellite under winds generally <10 kts). The distribution of slick detection has two peaks, one in May with secondary maxima in September. This is primarily due to the advantage of having sun-glint, which enhances the ability for surface slick detection during the months from April to October in the Gulf of Mexico. On several occasions overflight reports have confirmed the presence of oil sheens at this location, matching very well with satellite analyzed maps. Geographic Information System (GIS) shapefiles and Keyhole Markup Language (KML) files depicting the location of the observed oil from satellites are disseminated to NOAA's National Ocean Service (NOS) Emergency Response Division (ERD), U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and several local and state agencies. NOS/ERD uses these analyses in their surface oil trajectory models in an effort to improve the model's performance.

Abstract (sommario):
Similar to the orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system, the carrier frequency offset (CFO) is a challenging problem in the single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system, which can destroy the orthogonality among the subcarriers. As a consequence, multi-access interference (MAI) along with serious performance degradation will be induced. In this paper, a zero forcing (ZF)-based MAI cancellation scheme is proposed. Compared with other cancellation schemes, the proposed one mitigates the interferences in the time domain instead of the frequency domain. Simulation results show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the degradation and enhance the Bit Error Ratio (BER) performance.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper investigates the history, color photos, and illustrations of the paper notes printed by the Military Consumption Society under the Caucasian Shooting Division for the first time in early 1924. Considering that there has not been sufficient research on this area and the uniqueness of the materials, the authors obtained new scientific findings by providing detailed notaphilic information. In the initial section, the paper presents the history of the First Iron Shooting Regiment named after 26 Baku Commissars and the Third Caucasian Shooting Regiment, pertaining to the Azerbaijan Shooting Division, as well as discusses the role of the Military Consumption Society in providing financial support to the staff members of the division. It also includes photos of personalities distinguished by their activities and services. In the following sections of the paper, the issuers, denominations, characteristics, and various aspects of the main factual material of the research are covered. Materials added to these sections are the crest stamp of the First Iron Shooting Regiment Model Unit on loan checks printed in early 1924, additional stamps, and illustrations of the check of the Third Caucasian Shooting Regiment under the Azerbaijan Shooting Division. The paper catalogues, which has never been done before, the banknotes belonging to the Military Consumption Society of the Azerbaijan Shooting Division. Paper money tokens consumed by the Military Consumption Society of the Azerbaijan Shooting Division in 1924 are rare and unique facts. In modern collection circulation, such materials and copies are few, and those in complete condition are rare (especially checks of the Third Caucasian Shooting Regiment). They were in circulation for a short period of time, and at a later stage, they were taken out of use and completely destroyed.

Abstract (sommario):
Analysis of armed conflicts in recent years shows the widespread use of highly maneuverable firearms, which are characterized by rapid movement during hostilities, frequent changes of position after the fire mission. The effectiveness of defeating a highly maneuverable target and performing a fire task depends on the correct choice and priority in assigning a particular artillery firing task. The main factors influencing the effectiveness of fire damage to highly maneuverable targets are: timeliness, accuracy, suddenness, obtaining complete and accurate data on the position, size and nature of targets, the correct choice of means of hitting the target, the purpose of the fire task and method of firing targets. The primary task of artillery units is to defeat highly maneuverable targets while they are in firing positions. This time is called the effective time to complete the fire task. The timeliness of hitting highly maneuverable targets can be assessed by the ratio of reaction time required to use the artillery unit in combination with additional reconnaissance means allocated for counterbattery combat, to hit the target with the set ammunition consumption and the probable time of target targeting after reconnaissance. The time spent by highly maneuverable targets at the position after their detection by reconnaissance means is random, distributed according to the law of equal probability and depends on the tactical and technical characteristics of weapons, time of fire task, terrain, season, time of day, etc., as well as at what point the target was identified. Fire on the target can be timely only if it is detected and the coordinates are transmitted to the fire units by the time it leaves its positions. When determining the degree of damage to highly maneuverable targets, it is necessary to take into account the probability of timely fire, ie all shells intended to hit the target, spent until the target left the position (out of range). To destroy the battery (platoon) of self-propelled armored guns at the firing position and the platoon of self-propelled armored SAM at the position, the task of firing is to prohibit action, even with the use of two artillery divisions. To defeat the battery (platoon) of MLRS and the battery (platoon) of self-propelled unarmored guns in the firing position, the task of one division is to suppress, and when two divisions are involved in firing on the battery (platoon) of MLRS – destruction. To defeat a platoon of self-propelled armored ATGMs at the deployment line, firing one division, firing task is a ban on action, and if at least two divisions are involved - there may be suppression. Keywords: firing tasks, highly maneuverable targets, effective time, effectiveness of fire damage.

Abstract (sommario):
Conflict exists everywhere. People experience conflicts in their jobs, families, schools and even in the church. Conflict can neither be avoided nor ignored. Conflict that is not managed correctly diminishes happiness and has the potential to destroy people, it leaves them broken and burnt out. Marital conflict is a part of everyday life and how couples handle conflict in their relationship affects the strength and type of relationship a couple may have. Conflict may have the power to destroy or build a marriage. The study on marital conflict management among couples in Ainamoi Division was conducted through randomly interviewing forty married individuals in Ainamoi Division of Kericho County. The researchers employed a descriptive approach to analyse the data which was displayed through tables, charts, and graphs. The research has shown the following factors causing conflict in marriage in their order of priority: communication problems, financial management conflicts, issues surrounding children, in-laws, sexual issues, and finally, behaviour problems. Therefore, there is a need to counsel and teach married couples skills such as communication, financial management and relational skills in order for them to know how to manage marital conflict. This study concludes that marital counselling is in dire need in the society, and so counsellors, pastors and church leaders should come out and make awareness of it in the society

Abstract (sommario):
A momentous event in our modern history was the victorious crown of the British machination to promote and foster imperial interest and it was the division of the subcontinent into two separate sovereign nations India and Pakistan. The Machiavellian thirst to grab power, the indiscretion of politically biased leaders, and unrelenting clamour by the aggressive communal groups ensued towards the division of the sub-continent. The birth and transfer of power and people to two sovereign newly carved nations in the subcontinent besmear both the nations into ghastliness of communal frenzy before realizing the euphoria of independence. The cruellest and most gruesome violence that accompanied the decision to divide the subcontinent into two separate nations was the culmination of the British machination and manoeuvre. The gory of violence accompanied by partition shattered all modes of decency, nobility, and liberal humanistic values and ideals brutally and trampled all possibilities of amity, sanity, and peace forever. The cardinal features of Indian civilization i.e., peace, mutual tolerance, syncretism, socio-cultural amity, and universal brotherhood were destroyed forever.

Abstract (sommario):
Acute myeloid leukaemia is defined by the expansion of a mutated haematopoietic stem cell clone, with the inhibition of surrounding normal clones. Haematopoiesis can be seen as an evolutionary tree, starting with one cell that undergoes several divisions during the expansion phase, afterwards losing functional cells during the aging-related contraction phase. During divisions, offspring cells acquire ‘variations’, which can be either normal or abnormal. If an abnormal variation is present in more than 25% of the final cells, a monoclonal, leukemic pattern occurs. Such a pattern develops if: (A1) The abnormal variation occurs early, during the first or second divisions; (A2) The variation confers exceptional proliferative capacity; (B) A sizable proportion of the normal clones are destroyed and a previously non-significant abnormal clone gains relative dominance over a depleted environment; (C) The abnormal variation confers relative ‘immortality’, rendering it significant during the contraction phase. Combinations of these pathways further enhance the leukemic risk of the system. A simple mathematical model is used in order to characterize normal and leukemic states and to explain the above cellular processes generating monoclonal leukemic patterns.

Before its demise, the Stubbs earthwork, or effigy, as it was more commonly called, was the subject of more than a century of often acrimonious debate concerning its original configuration. No one disagreed that the embankment was of prehistoric creation, but there was a sharp division between those arguing that it was a serpent effigy and those claiming it to be a simpler and non-representational earthwork. The various viewpoints are herein presented and examined and heretofore unpublished fieldnotes on the site's original excavation by young archaeologist, Harlan Smith, brought to light.

SUMMARYThis article is a study of the Owenite community established in Co. Clare, Ireland from November 1831 to November 1833. It examines the role of economic crisis in Ireland in stimulating interest in Owenite solutions. It analyses the differing motivations of the various actors (landowner, Owenite reformer, the peasantry) in joining the venture. It examines the sources of the community's stability – economic, sociological, and cultural. It argues that the community was destroyed by the contradictory roles of its founder, Vandeleur, who was both owner and President. In the process a detailed description of the community is provided, covering matters such as institutional arrangements, the division of labour, wages and benefits, gender relationships, and religion.

Abstract (sommario):
Cities divided by a state border constitute an extremely interdisciplinary issue. Research on them in various scientific disciplines emphasises the complex nature of the phenomenon and the multitude of problems that concern it and require attention. Most often they are the subject of political, economic or sociological studies, primarily involving the analysis of borders and their variability over time, economic cooperation, border movement and European integration. Spatial research is much less often undertaken, despite the fact that this dimension is one of the first to experience the consequences of the ‘division’. The tearing apart of an urban structure by a state border destroys the existing spatial cohesion of the urban organism and the network of functional connections it has created in the historical period of development. The aim of the study is therefore to discuss the spatial and functional effects of such a division and to formulate some general conclusions in this field based on the analysis of possibly different (for example, in terms of the origin and conditions of division, size and importance of centres in the settlement network) examples of divided cities, namely Jerusalem, Berlin, Nicosia and Gubin.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Background & orientation: The existence of silo mentality has direct effect on the business model used by any ITC company. Its contribution slows service delivery whilst increasing customer’s despondency. However mitigation could help overcome barriers within divisions, improve customer experience and increase productivity. But when different units as components of a company fail to integrate, collaborate and work together to achieve a common objective goal, not only are performances affected but also operations at all levels. A business model canvas can help determine how a company intends to create value for customers whilst it makes money. Thus deliverance of an effective value proposition for efficient customer needs, can be affected through silos. Purpose: This study explore the effects of silo mentality within an ITC company (at organisational level) using the 9 elements of the business model canvas as framework. Methodology and research questions: As an exploratory study qualitative methods were used where in-depth interview questions looked at how silo mentality within the organisation affects the core business model elements and why. Twelve participants were selected from an enterprise business unit through a convenience sampling method. Content analysis helped with the development of core themes that looked at the how silos affect each element (process) and why (meaning). Findings: Silo mentality affects not only the individuals but team, products, value proposition, relations with partners, customers, stakeholders. Thus undermines internal capabilities and key resources. Absence of teamwork within the divisions leads to conflicts which delays achievements of common goals. Bottlenecks affect inter-divisional progress and relations, customer output and relations and compromise the quality of service. Implications: Silo mentality is a bottleneck that not only weakens firms’ capabilities and growth potential but destroys any value created by the firm.

Abstract (sommario):
Reproductive conflicts are common in insect societies where helping castes retain reproductive potential. One of the mechanisms regulating these conflicts is policing, a coercive behaviour that reduces direct reproduction by other individuals. In eusocial Hymenoptera (ants, bees and wasps), workers or the queen act aggressively towards fertile workers, or destroy their eggs. In many termite species (order Blattodea), upon the death of the primary queen and king, workers and nymphs can differentiate into neotenic reproductives and inherit the breeding position. During this process, competition among neotenics is inevitable, but how this conflict is resolved remains unclear. Here, we report a policing behaviour that regulates reproductive division of labour in the eastern subterranean termite, Reticulitermes flavipes . Our results demonstrate that the policing behaviour is a cooperative effort performed sequentially by successful neotenics and workers. A neotenic reproductive initiates the attack of the fellow neotenic by biting and displays alarm behaviour. Workers are then recruited to cannibalize the injured neotenic. Furthermore, the initiation of policing is age-dependent, with older reproductives attacking younger ones, thereby inheriting the reproductive position. This study provides empirical evidence of policing behaviour in termites, which represents a convergent trait shared between eusocial Hymenoptera and Blattodea.

Butkov, the Soviet Union Hero; his dossier being deposited inside the collection of Soviet Union Heroes (the Central State Archives of Moscow, F. P-8682). If the autobiography is an extremely formalized text, the memoirs mentioning the author’s hatred towards the Nazi invaders are written in easy language, reflecting the impressions of those ordinary fighters who, to a large extent, won the Great Patriotic War. The title of the Soviet Union Hero was awarded to the company commander of the 164th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 55th Guards Rifle Division of the 56th Guards Army senior lieutenant L.A. Butkov on May 16, 1944, for his distinction in the Kerch-Eltigen military operation. The company was the first to land on the shore occupied by the enemy and managed to hold the bridgehead, ensuring the successful landing of the entire division. During the battle, the company commander personally destroyed the machine gun with the gunners and 11 more enemy soldiers. The documentary collection, which holds L.A. Abstract (sommario):
The highly conserved Cdc6 protein is required for initiation of eukaryotic DNA replication and, in yeast and Xenopus, for the coupling of DNA replication to mitosis. Herein, we show that human Cdc6 is rapidly destroyed by a p53-independent, proteasome-, and ubiquitin-dependent pathway during early stages of programmed cell death induced by the DNA-damaging drug adozelesin, or by a separate caspase-dependent pathway in cells undergoing apoptosis through an extrinsic pathway induced by tumor necrosis factor-α and cycloheximide. The proteasome-dependent pathway induced by adozelesin is conserved in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The destruction of Cdc6 may be a primordial programmed death response that uncouples DNA replication from the cell division cycle, which is reinforced in metazoans by the evolution of caspases and p53.

Abstract (sommario):
Parthenogenetically reproducing aphids give birth to males in response to low temperatures and short photoperiods. Since female aphids are XX and males are XO, the apomictic production of male eggs requires the elimination of one of the X chromosomes. Our previous experiments had suggested that male eggs were produced when the concentration of juvenile hormone was low; we now confirm this by showing that the juvenile hormone analogue kinoprene prevents ovulation of male eggs in aphids whose corpus allatum has been destroyed by precocene. Juvenile hormone concentration thus influences the behaviour of the X chromosomes during the maturation division of the eggs, a high titre resulting in the retention of both X chromosomes and a low titre in the elimination of one of them. Key words: sex determination, aphids, juvenile hormone, precocene, parthenogenesis.

Abstract (sommario):
Cytostasis is the most salient manifestation of the potent antimicrobial activity of nitric oxide (NO), yet the mechanism by which NO disrupts bacterial cell division is unknown. Here, we show that in respiring Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Bacillus subtilis, NO arrests the first step in division, namely, the GTP-dependent assembly of the bacterial tubulin homolog FtsZ into a cytokinetic ring. FtsZ assembly fails in respiring cells because NO inactivates inosine 5′-monophosphate dehydrogenase in de novo purine nucleotide biosynthesis and quinol oxidases in the electron transport chain, leading to drastic depletion of nucleoside triphosphates, including the GTP needed for the polymerization of FtsZ. Despite inhibiting respiration and dissipating proton motive force, NO does not destroy Z ring formation and only modestly decreases nucleoside triphosphates in glycolytic cells, which obtain much of their ATP by substrate-level phosphorylation and overexpress inosine 5′-monophosphate dehydrogenase. Purine metabolism dictates the susceptibility of early morphogenic steps in cytokinesis to NO toxicity.

Abstract (sommario):
Such modern cities as Breslau and Smyrna have suffered widespread destruction and demographic transformation in the wake of armed invasion. The neighbouring Punjabi cities of Lahore and Amritsar shared this experience, at the time of the 1947 division of the Indian subcontinent. Almost 40 per cent of Amritsar's houses were destroyed or damaged and its Muslim population fell from 49 per cent of the population on the eve of partition to just 00.52 per cent in 1951. Six thousand houses were damaged in Lahore and its Hindu and Sikh population who formed over a third of the population departed for India. The Luftwaffe had destroyed some 4185 houses in Coventry in an air raid for ever associated with the concept of concentrated bombing. The greater damage in peacetime Lahore and Amritsar was a result of disturbances surrounding the end of British rule. The cities lay at the heart of the region which bore the brunt of the 1947 upheaval. Ten million Punjabis were uprooted. In all around 13 million people were displaced by partition. This was the largest migration in a century whose wars and ethnic conflicts rendered millions of people homeless. The cities' proximity to the border (see map.) meant that they received large numbers of refugees. There were a million in Lahore alone in April 1948, two fifths of whom were housed in camps.

After cardiovascular disease, cancer represents an important one of the causative agents leading to mortality. Therefore, it is considered as a world major problem in, cancer defined as a disease when cells have uncontrolled abnormal proliferation and division. This disease can overcome immune responses leading to destroy other cells. Different chemotherapies are used for treating cancer but only a few have satisfied results. Gene or protein delivering drugs are used to destroy the cancer cells. Concerning anti-cancer agents, fungi play an important role in producing these agents. Taxol, obtained from Taxomyces andreanae, is a typical example of the fungal anti-cancer drugs that it is used for treating cancers of the breast and ovaries. Other fungi can produce the anti-cancer compounds which are Alternaria tenuissima, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus oryzae, Fusarium fujikuroi, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium graminearum, Penicillium expansum, Pyrenophora triticirepentis, Rhizoctonia solani, and Trichophyton rubrum. Abstract (sommario):
ABSTRACT The ftsL gene is required for the initiation of cell division in a broad range of bacteria. Bacillus subtilis ftsL encodes a 13-kDa protein with a membrane-spanning domain near its N terminus. The external C-terminal domain has features of an α-helical leucine zipper, which is likely to be involved in the heterodimerization with another division protein, DivIC. To determine what residues are important for FtsL function, we used both random and site-directed mutagenesis. Unexpectedly, all chemically induced mutations fell into two clear classes, those either weakening the ribosome-binding site or producing a stop codon. It appears that the random mutagenesis was efficient, so many missense mutations must have been generated but with no phenotypic effect. Substitutions affecting hydrophobic residues in the putative coiled-coil domain, introduced by site-directed mutagenesis, also gave no observable phenotype except for insertion of a helix-breaking proline residue, which destroyed FtsL function. ftsL homologues cloned from three diverseBacillus species, Bacillus licheniformis,Bacillus badius, and Bacillus circulans, could complement an ftsL null mutation in B. subtilis, even though up to 66% of the amino acid residues of the predicted proteins were different from B. subtilisFtsL. However, the ftsL gene from Staphylococcus aureus (whose product has 73% of its amino acids different from those of the B. subtilis ftsL product) was not functional. We conclude that FtsL is a highly malleable protein that can accommodate a large number of sequence changes without loss of function.

Abstract (sommario):
Cancer is characterized by the development of cells that are unlike normal cells and they divide rapidly and also corrupt and destroy normal tissues in the body. Cancer cells possess the ability to spread through the body and cause damage. Cancer is caused by the mutation of DNA. The estimate of cancer cases worldwide as of 202 has risen to 19.3 million and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Cancer has several meanswith which it sustains its growth. Cancerous action in the body involves unchecked, uncontrolled cell division and metastisis which is characterized by incading of other cells and tissues in the body. This is caused by a series of mutation in the genes of proteins that regulate the cell cycle and some other processes in the cell. These mutations suppress the ability of the cell to stop the cell cycle and promote cell division which causes continuous and uncontrolled division of cells. Bioactive compounds can be derived from plants, animals, or other sources and they have a wide range of biological and functional activities like anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, and antidiabetic activities; with the plant sources widely researched into for anticancer activities. Bioactive compounds have in recent years gained popularity in their role against cancer. This current study aims to review the mechanisms of action of anticancer activity of some of these bioactive compounds. Keywords: anticancer, bioactive compounds, cancer, genistein, mechanism

Abstract (sommario):
Naegleria amoebae contain cytopathogenic material (NACM). The morphological response of cultured cells to this material follows a number of characteristics in common with those resulting from infectious agents. The cytopathologic changes varied depending on the strain of the cultured cells. Among those from 17 different vertebrate sources, both primary and continuous cell lines, some were destroyed completely by dilutions of NACM up to 10(−8) while others appeared unaffected by NACM at any concentration. The response had no apparent relationship to species, organ source, or passage level of the cells. The reaction was typified by a long latent period (4-10 days) during which the number of cells in the culture increased up to 10-fold, followed abruptly by a short period (less than 24 h) during which all of the cells were destroyed. The latent period was prolonged when the culture conditions were adverse, or when the amount of NACM in the inoculum was minimal. A high multiplicity of NACM in the inoculum lysed the entire culture, while dilutions near the end-point caused generalized or only focal changes of rounded cytopathic cells. The cytopathic effect could be maintained in cultured cells by serial passage, such that the total activity greatly exceeded what could be attributed to the original inoculum. These findings are consistent with the concept that NACM has properties of an infectious agent and that its quantity is enhanced and spread through the culture by cell-to-cell contact and by cell division.

Abstract (sommario):
The article publishes for the first time the draft «Regulations on military censorship», prepared in 1912 by a special interdepartmental commission. Compared to the draft of 1910, this version has undergone significant content and stylistic changes, but its basis has remained the same. First of all, the introduction of military censorship was supposed throughout the entire territory of the Russian Empire, without division into «full» and «partial», as in the final version of 1914. Military censorship, according to the project, was supposed to apply only to military topics and not interfere in public and political discussions. However, both the «Temporary Regulations on Military Censorship» of 1914 and the practice of war from the first day destroyed these boundaries between «military» and «non-military» topics. In this sense, the 1912 draft became an intermediate stage on the way to granting the military censorship exclusive rights that were poorly regulated by law.

Abstract (sommario):
Christianity in Africa owes its massive growth of the last 50 years to the Independent and Pentecostal/ charismatic churches. The relationships between these churches and the older mission-founded churches are strained. Ethnic and social factors contribute to the divisions. Christian unity in Africa will require conversion to Christ. The strong African tradition of communal life is destroyed by external forces and inter-African conflicts in which members of the same churches have fought one another. Healing is only possible through reconciliation, which calls for conversion from the sin of breaking the community and neglecting the sanctity of human life. The Global Christian Forum offers a new model of working towards Christian unity, which may be particularly meaningful for Africa.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract. Hydrological time series (HTS) are the key basis of water conservancy project planning and construction. However, under the influence of climate change, human activities and other factors, the consistency of HTS has been destroyed and cannot meet the requirements of mathematical statistics. Series division and wavelet transform are effective methods to reuse and analyse HTS. However, they are limited by the change-point detection and mother wavelet (MWT) selection and are difficult to apply and promote in practice. To address these issues, we constructed a potential change-point set based on a cumulative anomaly method, the Mann–Kendall test and wavelet change-point detection. Then, the degree of change before and after the potential change point was calculated with the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test, and the change-point detection criteria were proposed. Finally, the optimization framework was proposed according to the detection accuracy of MWT, and continuous wavelet transform was used to analyse HTS evolution. We used Pingshan station and Yichang station on the Yangtze River as study cases. The results show that (1) change-point detection criteria can quickly locate potential change points, determine the change trajectory and complete the division of HTS and that (2) MWT optimal framework can select the MWT that conforms to HTS characteristics and ensure the accuracy and uniqueness of the transformation. This study analyses the HTS evolution and provides a better basis for hydrological and hydraulic calculation, which will improve design flood estimation and operation scheme preparation.

Sawani, Youssef Mohammad. "Justice, Reconciliation, and State-Building in Post-Gaddafi Libya". Contemporary Arab Affairs 15, n. 2 (1 giugno 2022): 3–24. http://dx.doi.org/10.1525/caa.2022.15.2.3.

Abstract (sommario):
This article argues that the transitional justice (TJ) approach in post-Gaddafi Libya has failed because it lacked national reconciliation. Libya’s transition experience did not include reconciliation and agreement on a new social contract, and this not only perpetuated conflict, exclusion, and division, but also frustrated the pursuit of a peace, and made democratic transition a remote possibility. Taking stock from local and relevant comparative international experiences, the main argument is that the nexus between TJ and peacebuilding should be replaced, or at least coupled, with an inclusive national reconciliation process that yields an agreement on a new social contract. This implies the urgent need to go beyond the often externally promoted TJ and narrow state-centric processes in a country where the state itself has been destroyed and its future form remains highly contested with some actors such as Islamists with illiberal notions contesting the nation-state and its legitimacy, authority, and the issue of human rights.

Abstract (sommario):
The Caucasus region has been called the “Mountain of Tongues”. History writers from Herodotus, 2,500 years ago, until present time have given different numbers of languages, e.g. the Greek geographer and historian Strabo (64 BCE- 21 CE) claimed more than 70 tribes speaking different languages, Pliny stated that the Romans used 130 interpreters when trading. At present more than 50 languages are spoken in the Caucasus (Catford 1977: 283). Hebrew is the ancient original language for all the twelve tribes of Israel, also after the division of the Land of Israel in 927 BCE into the Northern Kingdom, Israel, with ten of the tribes and the Southern Kingdom, Juda, with two tribes. The Israelites got exiled by the Assyrian Kings, e.g. Shalmaneser in 722 BCE. These ten tribes soon lost their language and identity. The southern tribes, Juda, got exiled by the Babylonian Nebuchadnezzar, between 606-586 BCE, who destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem (586 BCE).

Abstract (sommario):
<p>Jerusalem is a holy city for three celestial religions involved in Arab-Israeli conflict, which has lasted for approximately 70 years. Due to its strategic geographical conditions, Jerusalem is taken into account in politic, economy, and security affairs. Since 1967, the status of Jerusalem has been de facto occupied and controlled by Israel, not clearly de jure. The UN established the UN General Assembly Resolution 181 on the division of Palestinian territory. However, Israel did not comply with that. Such tension became further heated after the US President, Donald Trump, in his statement on December 2017, formally recognized Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel. This decision evoked discontent from leaders across the world as it threatened the stability across region and destroyed the prospect of achieving peacefulness between Israel and Palestine. Although this statement is a form of recognition of sovereignty, it is considered against the principle of estoppel.</p>

Abstract (sommario):
Cyclin A2 is a crucial mitotic Cdk regulatory partner that coordinates entry into mitosis and is then destroyed in prometaphase within minutes of nuclear envelope breakdown. The role of cyclin A2 in female meiosis and its dynamics during the transition from meiosis I (MI) to meiosis II (MII) remain unclear. We found that cyclin A2 decreases in prometaphase I but recovers after the first meiotic division and persists, uniquely for metaphase, in MII-arrested oocytes. Conditional deletion of cyclin A2 from mouse oocytes has no discernible effect on MI but leads to disrupted MII spindles and increased merotelic attachments. On stimulation of exit from MII, there is a dramatic increase in lagging chromosomes and an inhibition of cytokinesis. These defects are associated with an increase in microtubule stability in MII spindles, suggesting that cyclin A2 mediates the fidelity of MII by maintaining microtubule dynamics during the rapid formation of the MII spindle.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to assess records management components, such as record scheduled, records appraisal, destroyed/disposed, retained, training of staff on the management of the student affairs records (SARs), provided access, the challenges associated with efficient management of SARs and strategies for effective management of SARs, to determine the extent the Student Affairs Department (SAD) complies with the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) records management policy. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses qualitative methodology of a triangulation of data collection and this included interviews, document analysis and observation. Findings The literature review, as well as the interview, revealed that findings on the UMP records management policy are multi-layered. A number of participants mentioned lack of records centre, records retention and appraisal of records, records management training and managing access to information as a challenge to the management of SARs. Research limitations/implications The research was only limited to the UMP, Student Affairs Division, with a population of 15 staff members even though the findings can be applied to all the universities in South Africa. Practical implications SAD has a unique contribution to make to ensure that records created within their division are managed in terms of the UMP records management policy by ensuring that components such as records storage retention and appraisal of records management training and managing access to information are adhered to. Social implications Failure to comply with the UMP records management policy by the Student Affairs Division will contribute to the loss of institutional memories, non-compliance with legislations such as Promotion of Access to Information Act 2000, National Archives and Records Services Act 46 of 1996 and the Protection of Personal Information Act No 4. Of 2013. Originality/value The research appears to be the first of its kind, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, to assess SARs at the UMP, South Africa.
