Abstract (sommario):
This article reports on how the introduction of patient-generated health data affects the nurses’ and patients’ data work and unpacks how new forms of data collection trigger shifts in the work with data through translation work. The article is based on a 2.5-year case study examining data work of nurses and patients at a cancer rehabilitation clinic at a Swedish Hospital in which patient-generated health data are gathered by patients and then used outside and within clinical practice for decision-making. The article reports on how data are prepared and translated, that is, made useful by the nurses and patients. Using patient-generated health data alters the data work and how the translation of data is performed. The shift in work has three components: (1) a shift in question tactics, (2) a shift in decision-making, and (3) a shift in distribution. The data become mobile, and the data work becomes distributed when using patient-generated health data as an active part of care.

Abstract (sommario):
The numerical methods of step-by-step and combined shifts are proposed for correction and reconstruction the experimental data convolved with different blur kernels. Methods use a shift technique for the direct deconvolution of experimental data, they are fast and effective for data reconstruction, especially, in the case of discrete measurements. The comparative analysis of proposed methods is presented, inaccuracies of reconstruction with different blur kernels, different volumes of data and noise levels are estimated. There are presented the examples of using the shift methods in processing the statistical data of TOF neutron spectrometers and in planning the proton therapy treatment. The multi-dimensional data processing using shift methods is considered. The examples of renewal the 2D images blurred by uniform motion and distorted with the Gaussian-like blur kernels are presented.

Abstract (sommario):
English noun phrases can be categorized into simple and complex noun phrases. Whether or not a noun phrase is complex, it can be seen from the structure of a noun phrase that has a pre-modification, head, and post-modification or its complementation. However, when it is translated into Indonesian, the shifts happen. In translations, there are two types of shifts. They are level shifts and category shifts. This research is aimed at finding out the complex noun phrases in a novel entitled Ugly Love and their category shifts of translation in Indonesian. A descriptive qualitative method was applied in this research. Based on the findings, there are 41 Complex Noun Phrases found. However, there are six (6) Complex Noun Phrases that are translated using category shifts. Two (2) data are translated using structure shift and unit shift. One (1) data is translated using unit shift. One (1) data is translated using unit shift and class shift. Two (2) data are translated using structure shift, class shift, and unit shift. It reveals that the most dominant used of category shift is unit shift, followed by structure shift. Furthermore, the least used of category shift is class shift. In addition, intra-system shift was not found because the nouns mentioned in the data findings are all singular nouns.

Abstract (sommario):
In taxi management, taxi-driver shift behaviors play a key role in arranging the operation of taxis, which affect the balance between the demand and supply of taxis and the parking spaces. At the same time, these behaviors influence the daily travel of citizens. An analysis of the distribution of taxi-driver shifts, therefore, contributes to transportation management. Compared to the previous research using the real shift records, this study focuses on the spatiotemporal analysis of taxi-driver shifts using big trace data. A two-step strategy is proposed to automatically identify taxi-driver shifts from big trace data without the information of drivers’ identities. The first step is to pick out the frequent spatiotemporal sequential patterns from all parking events based on the spatiotemporal sequence analysis. The second step is to construct a Gaussian mixture model based on prior knowledge for further identifying taxi-driver shifts from all frequent spatiotemporal sequential patterns. The spatiotemporal distribution of taxi-driver shifts is analyzed based on two indicators, namely regional taxi coverage intensity and taxi density. Taking the city of Wuhan as an example, the experimental results show that the identification precision and recall rate of taxi-driver shift events based on the proposed method can achieve about 95% and 90%, respectively, by using big taxi trace data. The occurrence time of taxi-driver shifts in Wuhan mainly has two high peak periods: 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Although taxi-driver shift behaviors are prohibited during the evening peak hour based on the regulation issued by Wuhan traffic administration, experimental results show that there are still some drivers in violation of this regulation. By analyzing the spatial distribution of taxi-driver shifts, we find that most taxi-driver shifts distribute in central urban areas such as Wuchang and Jianghan district.

Abstract (sommario):
This research aimed to analyze Category shifts; Structure-shift, Class-shift, Unit shift, and Intra-system by Catford (1965) in female-lead utterances in To All The Boys: Always and Forever (2021) movie subtitles, to identify the most dominant shift and the quality of translation used quality assessment of translation theory by Nababan (2012). The descriptive-qualitative method is applied to analyze the data. The data was obtained by the English and Indonesian subtitles. The analysis identified 317 shifts in the data which were then divided according to 4 types of Category shifts. The results showed all of the Category shits were found in the data with the unit shift as the most dominant category shift with a total of 165 data (52%), structure shift with 64 data (20%), intra-system shift with 51 (16%), and the less dominant data is class shift with 37 data (12%). The quality assessment of translations pointed out that 7 data were scored as less accurate. and 1 data each for inaccurate, inacceptable, and unreadable. The data remains were high-scale accuracy, acceptancy, and readability. These results indicated that the occurrence of category shifts is important to achieve naturalness in translation.

Abstract (sommario):
ObjectivesStudies concerning the association between shift work and drinking problems showed inconsistent results. We used data from a large occupational cohort to examine the association between shift work and different types of drinking behaviour.MethodsA total of 93 121 non-abstinent workers from the Finnish Public Sector Study were enrolled in the study. Six waves of survey data were collected between 2000 and 2017. Work schedules were categorised as regular day, non-night shift and night shift work, and shift intensities were calculated from registered working hour data. Two indicators of adverse drinking behaviour were measured: at-risk drinking (>7 and >14 drinks per week in women and men, respectively) and high-intensity drinking (measured as pass-out experience). Intraindividual analysis was conducted using fixed-effects regression to examine the association between shift work and drinking behaviours.ResultsCompared with regular day work, night shift work was associated with an increased risk of high-intensity drinking (OR 1.28, 95% CI 1.07 to 1.52) but a lower risk of at-risk drinking (OR 0.85, 95% CI 0.74 to 0.99). Shift workers who worked long shifts had a lower risk of at-risk drinking compared with those who rarely worked long shifts (OR 0.58, 95% CI 0.37 to 0.93).ConclusionsAssociations between shift work and alcohol use vary according to drinking patterns. Workers engaged in high-intensity drinking more often during night shift schedules compared with day work, but did not drink averagely higher volume.

Abstract (sommario):
Mean shift is a simple interactive procedure that gradually shifts data points towards the mode which denotes the highest density of data points in the region. Mean shift algorithms have been effectively used for data denoising, mode seeking, and finding the number of clusters in a dataset in an automated fashion. However, the merits of mean shift quickly fade away as the data dimensions increase and only a handful of features contain useful information about the cluster structure of the data. We propose a simple yet elegant feature-weighted variant of mean shift to efficiently learn the feature importance and thus, extending the merits of mean shift to high-dimensional data. The resulting algorithm not only outperforms the conventional mean shift clustering procedure but also preserves its computational simplicity. In addition, the proposed method comes with rigorous theoretical convergence guarantees and a convergence rate of at least a cubic order. The efficacy of our proposal is thoroughly assessed through experimental comparison against baseline and state-of-the-art clustering methods on synthetic as well as real-world datasets.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Introduction Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD) is a circadian rhythm sleep disorder affecting individuals who work nontraditional hours, such as night shifts. The complexity of SWSD arises from the altered interactions between thousands of genes, making it challenging to prioritize disease mechanism, biomarkers, and drug targets. This study aims to identify the patterns of pathways and upstream regulators involved in SWSD using a transcriptome from isolated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of hospital nurses. Method We conducted bioinformatic analyses on the GSE122541 dataset, which includes RNA samples from PBMCs collected from night-shift and day-shift nurses under controlled laboratory conditions. Total RNA was obtained from isolated PBMCs every three hours. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified by comparing the night-shift condition to the day-shift condition. These DEGs were subjected to pathway and biomarker analyses using bioinformatic tools. Results A total of 773 DEGs were identified when comparing night-shift to day-shift conditions. These DEGs were analyzed using ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA). The pathway analysis revealed several significantly decreased pathways, including interferon alpha/beta signaling, interferon signaling, and OAS antiviral response. The upstream regulator analysis included predicted inhibited upstream regulators, such as IFNA2 and IFNL1, supporting the inhibited pathways. The one of top diseases associated with the night-shift condition included cancer with highest score. Conclusion Despite the identification of numerous DEGs, the bioinformatic analysis highlighted significant inhibited pathways and upstream regulators between night-shift and day-shift conditions. Combining pathway analyses of microarray data with bioinformatic tools can provide insights into the pathogenic relevance of SWSD.

Due to the systematical difference of every language, the occurrence of the translation shift is unavoidable in order to make the translation result natural. Translation shift and meaning equivalent are two core elements in translation that are correlated and inseparable, this study is conducted to find out the types of translation shifts and their implication towards the meaning equivalents found in the short story “A Scandal in Bohemia”. The data was taken from a short story entitled “A Scandal of Bohemia” using documentation and note-taking technique. In addition, the data was analyzed qualitatively and comparatively. It was classified based on the types of shifts and the analysis of its implication towards the meaning equivalent under the theory of Translation Shift proposed by Catford (1965) about translation shift and Theory of Meaning-Based Translation proposed by Larson (1998).This study revealed that the occurrence of the translation shift can be classified into four types of shift namely structure shift, class shift, unit shift and intra-system shift in which all of them belong to the category shift. None of the data shown level shift occurrence. This study also revelaed that as what Catford (1965) has stated in his theory that the most frequent shift is the structure shift, meanwhile the least one is the class shift. Multiple shifts are also occurred in some of the NPs, there are a few pairs namely unit and class shifts, class and intra-system shifts, unit and intra-system shifts and structure and intra-system shifts are occurred. Furthermore the implication of translation shift towards the meaning equivalent is also the core aspect in this study; it is shown that the occurrence of the shift is obligatory in order to make an equivalent and natural translation which the meaning that is carried from the SL to the TL is held constant and relevant to the feature of substance.

Abstract (sommario):
BACKGROUND: Efficient allocation of healthcare resources is essential for meeting the increasing demand for healthcare services. This study aimed at exploring the performance of both one- and two-shift Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCCs) and examining the efficiency of healthcare centers to discover how efficiency is affected by the levels of resource allocation and staffing. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was conducted at 31 PHCCs assigned to cover extended hours, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM during May-October 2023. Study employed a quantitative approach and the data envelopment analysis technique to assess the efficiency of PHCCs, specifically focusing on night shift performance. Data were collected through interviews and surveys with primary healthcare staff including 99 doctors, 119 nurses, and 139 support staff using structured questionnaire. The DEA technique was utilized to measure the relative efficiency of the PHCCs by comparing the inputs and outputs. RESULTS: Out of 31 PHCCs, 45.2% run two shifts. Over the reported period, a total of 126,619 patient visits were recorded; 81.7% came to the two-shift PHCCs and 18.3% to the one-shift PHCCs. On average, each two-shift PHCC received approximately 161 visits/ shift, and the one-shift received 123 visits. Upper respiratory tract infections accounted for 30% of morbidities and chronic diseases for more than 20%. The performance of the two-shifts PHCCs revealed varying levels of efficiency with a score of 1.00 for the most efficient PHCC and 0.31 for the least efficient PHCC. CONCLUSION: This study underscores the importance of data-driven decision-making for healthcare administrators. Ongoing assessments and benchmarking are essential for continuously improving the quality of healthcare service and optimizing utilization of resources. Future research in this field can further explore the factors that contribute to healthcare efficiency and provide deeper insights into healthcare resource management and optimization of service delivery.

The purpose of this study is to find out 1) the types of category shifts that occur in the English-Indonesian subtitled Green Book film, and 2) the reasons for the translation shift in the English-Indonesian subtitled Green Book film. The data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The source of data in this research from subtitle english-indonesian subtitle of green book movie. The instrument for collecting data in this research is a documentary technique. the instrument of collecting data are used recorder and analyzed based on theory by Catford (1965). The results of the study show that 1) There are 303 data category shifts in the English-Indonesian subtitled Green Book film according to the results of the study. In total, there are four types of shifts: structure shift (24.8%), class shift (5.9%), unit shift (45.5%), and intra-system shift (which makes up the rest) (23.8%). The reason why the translation shift occurs in the green book movie subtitle is because of the textual equivalent. In translation shift, the shift occurs at the grammatical and lexical levels. Textual equivalent is a translation utterance between the source language and the target language. Some translations have no formal correspondence between the two language code systems. Shift the translation to achieve a good equivalence so that it can produce good and natural translation quality.

Abstract (sommario):
Translation is important for people who don't know a foreign language. Translators face challenges, but use of techniques like translation shifts can make translations sound more natural and effectively communicate the original meaning to the target audience. This research aims to identify the types of translation shifts used in the Indonesian subtitle of Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant movie and to identify the possible reasons the translators used translation shifts in this movie. The research applied the theory of translation shift proposed by Catford to analyze the data. It used descriptive qualitative methods and the data is from the movie subtitle of Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant. The researcher used the Oxford Dictionary and Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) applications as instruments for analyzing the data, and to ensure the analysis results. The analysis found that the Indonesian subtitles for Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant movie included all types of shifts as proposed by Catford's theory. The shifts identified in the Indonesian subtitles included level shifts and category shifts (including structure shift, unit shift, class shift, and intra-system shift). However, among these shifts, category shifts especially unit shifts, were the most dominant. The translator probably used these translation shifts due to cultural and linguistic differences, time constraints, and creative translation choices.

Abstract (sommario):
We explored the possibility that quantitative analysis of the relationship between sucrose concentration and sham intake differentiated how various treatments affected the intake of sweet solutions. Rats were sham fed sucrose solutions varying in concentration from 0.03125 to 1.5 M. Under different treatment conditions, intake concentration functions were generated that plotted amount sham fed against sucrose concentration. Sucrose concentration that yielded 50% maximal sham intake were calculated to indicate the position of the concentration-intake function on the x-axis. Quinine adulteration of sucrose solutions and injection of 0.5 mg/kg i.p. of the dopamine antagonist pimozide reduced sham intake and shifted the concentration-intake function to the right. Lithium chloride (60 mg/kg i.p.) injected 30 min before sham feeding, a reduction of food deprivation from 18 to 6 h before sham feeding, and 6 micrograms/kg cholecystokinin octapeptide reduced sham intake equivalent amounts but did not shift the concentration-intake functions along the x-axis. The data indicate that of several factors that reduce sham feeding, only some also shift the position of concentration-intake curves, and these curve shifts may identify intake changes mediated by alterations in the processing of the taste input.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Ecological studies require quality data to describe the nature of ecological processes and to advance understanding of ecosystem change. Increasing access to big data has magnified both the burden and the complexity of ensuring quality data. The costs of errors in ecology include low use of data, increased time spent cleaning data, and poor reproducibility that can result in a misunderstanding of ecosystem processes and dynamics, all of which can erode the efficacy of and trust in ecological research. Although conceptual and technological advances have improved ecological data access and management, a cultural shift is needed to embed data quality as a cultural practice. We present a comprehensive data quality framework to evoke this cultural shift. The data quality framework flexibly supports different collaboration models, supports all types of ecological data, and can be used to describe data quality within both short- and long-term ecological studies.

Abstract (sommario):
A nonparametric unsupervised method for analyzing changes in complex datasets is proposed. It is based on the mean shift clustering algorithm. Mean shift is used to cluster the old and new datasets and compare the results in a nonparametric manner. Each point from the new dataset naturally belongs to a cluster of points from its dataset. The method is also able to find to which cluster the point belongs in the old dataset and use this information to report qualitative differences between that dataset and the new one. Changes in local cluster distribution are also reported. The report can then be used to try to understand the underlying reasons which caused the changes in the distributions. On the basis of this method, a transductive transfer learning method for automatically labeling data from the new dataset is also proposed. This labeled data is used, in addition to the old training set, to train a classifier better suited to the new dataset. The algorithm has been implemented and tested on simulated and real (a stereo image pair) datasets. Its performance was also compared with several state-of-the-art methods.

Abstract (sommario):
Balinese and English have different grammatical structure and English does not have speech level like Balinese. The condition may cause both linguistic and cultural shifts to make the translation equivalent. This difference becomes a challenge for translators in finding the closest natural equivalent of Balinese terms of address in English or vice versa. This study analyzed types of shifts in translation occurred in the translation of the terms of address from Balinese into English in puppet shadow script ‘Lubdaka’. This study belonged to qualitative study approach and used descriptive method. The primary data is the translation of terms of address from Balinese into English directly taken from puppet shadow script and its translation into English of the Lubdaka story in the book The Invisible Mirror of Siwaratri Kalpa (2008). Shifts in translation in the data occurred in grammatical (transposition) and in point of view (modulation). There are four types of shifts that belong to the grammatical: structure shift, class shift, unit shift, and intra-system shift. Meanwhile, there are three types of shifts found that belongs to the shift in point of view: lexical dense shift, lexical loose shift, and emphasizing on 2nd person.

Abstract (sommario):
The objective of this study was to determine the use of translation shift of preposition phrase in the Kopkamtib Operation Chapter VIII and IX. The translation shift that occurred in the data collected by the researcher was a category shift consisting of unit shift, intersystem shift, class shift and also structure shift. The researcher conducted a comprehensive analysis of Chapters VIII and IX in this book to find the occurrence of translation shifts. The research method used by the researcher is a qualitative method with a content analysis approach. The results of this study indicate that there are 18 shift of preposition phrase data found by researchers randomly. Translation Shift that occur are there are 8 data belonged to structure shift, 4 data belonged to intersystem shift, 3 data belonged to class shift and 3 data belonged to unit shift. This study concludes that a translation shift is something that must happen and cannot be avoided in the process of translating a text. But, although there were translation shift and semantic transition that happened in this book, it didn’t make so many problems in the quality and quantity of the text.

Abstract (sommario):
The research focuses on the analysis of category shift in the movie of Joker (2019). This study has two aims, namely (1) to identify the types of category shifts that appear in the English-Indonesian translation of Joker (2019) movie and (2) to describe the use of category shifts of Joker (2019) movie texts on transferring messages from the source language into the target language. Descriptive qualitative method was used in study to analyze the data. In this study, Catford's (1965) theory of translation shifts was applied. The data source of this study was the Joker (2019) movie by Todd Phillips in English with Indonesian subtitles. Observation and documentation method were applied in collecting the data. The subtitle of the film was the object of the observation. The results showed that all types of category shifts presented by Catford were found in the translation. The structure shift occurred in the highest occurrence, consisting of 46 data (43,40%) out of the 106 data. It appeared because there were different classes and functions of the word between English into Indonesian. The fewest occurrence was class shift consisting of 17 data (16,03%). The majority of the class shifts discovered in this study is shifts from noun to a verb. Unit shift occurred 24 cases (22,65%). Most of the unit shifts found in the source language were transferred from words to phrases in the target language and intra-system shift occurred 19 data (17,92%) from the total of 106 data found. This shift was represented by the plural forms in English that were mostly translated into singular forms in Indonesian because, as it can be seen in the translation, the markers of plural quantifier were followed by the singular noun in Indonesian. The plural forms were shown by the use of them in the noun phrases.
