Abstract (sommario):
South Asian region has made a glorious history of mathematics. This area is considered as fer- tile land for the birth of pioneer mathematicians who developed various mathematical ideas and creations. Among them, three innovative personalities are Bhaskaracarya, Gopal Pande and Bharati Krishna Tirthaji and their specific methods to find cube root are mainly focused on this study. The article is trying to explore the comparative study among the procedures they adopt. Gopal Pande disagrees with the Bhaskaracarya's verse. He used the unitary method against that method mentioned in Bhaskaracarya's famous book Lilavati to prove his procedures. However, the Vedic method by Tirthaji was not influenced by the other two except for minor cases. In the case of practicality and simplicity, the Vedic method is more practical and simpler to understand for all mathematical learners and teachers in comparison to the other two methods.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract In this study, we define vedic cube as the layout of each digital root in a three-dimensional multiplication table. In order to discover the geometric patterns in vedic cube, we adopt two methods to analyze the digital root in a three-dimensional space. The first method is floor method, which divides vedic cube into several X-Y planes according to different Z values (floors) to analyze the geometric characteristics on each floor. The second method is symmetric plane method, which decomposes vedic cube by its main and secondary symmetric planes.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper proposes a valid bootstrap‐based distributional approximation for M‐estimators exhibiting a Chernoff (1964)‐type limiting distribution. For estimators of this kind, the standard nonparametric bootstrap is inconsistent. The method proposed herein is based on the nonparametric bootstrap, but restores consistency by altering the shape of the criterion function defining the estimator whose distribution we seek to approximate. This modification leads to a generic and easy‐to‐implement resampling method for inference that is conceptually distinct from other available distributional approximations. We illustrate the applicability of our results with four examples in econometrics and machine learning.

Abstract (sommario):
The purpose of this study is to discuss the testing using the Mann-Whitney method and the Wilcoxon signaled level for learning perfect cube and cube root. This research is a quantitative study, while the method used is experimental. The quantitative approach used includes the Mann-Whitney test and Wilcoxon's signed rank test. The conclusions of this study are that: 1) for the Mann-Whitney test on the pretest value of the control group and the experimental group it is concluded that before the treatment of two groups, namely control and experiment, had the same ability in mastering the material to the third power and the cube root; 2) For the Mann-Whitney test on the post-test scores of the control group and the experimental group, it is concluded that after the treatment of two groups, namely the control and the experimental group, they have different abilities in mastery of the material in the third power and the cube root; whereas 3) for the Wilcoxon-signed level test on the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group, it was concluded that there was a difference between the conditions before and after being given treatments on the mastery of the material to the third power and the perfect cube root.

Abstract If Pegasus existed, he would indeed be in space and time, but only because the word ‘Pegasus’ has spatio-temporal connotations, and not because ‘exists’ has spatio-temporal connotations. If spatio-temporal reference is lacking when we affirm the existence of the cube root of 27, that is simply because a cube root is not a spatio-temporal kind of thing.

Abstract (sommario):
We develop a bit manipulation technique for single precision floating point numbers which leads to new algorithms for fast computation of the cube root and inverse cube root. It uses the modified iterative Newton–Raphson method (the first order of convergence) and Householder method (the second order of convergence) to increase the accuracy of the results. The proposed algorithms demonstrate high efficiency and reduce error several times in the first iteration in comparison with known algorithms. After two iterations 22.84 correct bits were obtained for single precision. Experimental tests showed that our novel algorithm is faster and more accurate than library functions for microcontrollers.

Abstract (sommario):
Several fungicides, including benomyl, flutolanil, iprodione, metalaxyl, and a mixture of metalaxyl and benomyl that control rhizoctonia stem rot (Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn) of poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherriman Willd. ex Kl.) were evaluated for inhibition of poinsettia root initials and suppression of root elongation. Fungicides were applied as either foliar sprays to poinsettia cuttings in rooting cubes or as soaks of rooting cubes before sticking of cuttings. Rooting cube soaks of iprodione and benomyl and fungicide sprays of iprodione, benomyl, and chlorothalonil inhibited root initiation as measured by root counts 28 days after sticking cuttings. However, root elongation as measured by root rating was similar for all fungicides and the untreated control at 28 days. Plant height of rooted poinsettia cuttings transplanted to 400-cm3 pots was significantly less (P = 0.05) only for cuttings sprayed initially with iprodione, but not for rooting cubes soaked in iprodione 58 days after transplanting. The inhibitory effect of other fungicides on root initiation did not appear to affect plant growth once plants were transplanted. Chemical names used: methyl 1-(butyl-carbamoyl)-2-benzimidazolecarbamate (benomyl); tetrachloroisophthalonitrile (chlorothalonil); N -[3-(methylethoxy)phenyl]-2-(trifluoromethyl)benzamide (flutolanil); 3-(3,5dichlorophenyl)N -(lmethylethyl)-2,4-dioxo-l-imidazolidinecarboxamide (iprodione); N -(2,6-dimethylphyenyl)N -(methoxyacetyl) alanine methyl ester (metalaxyl).

Abstract (sommario):
The article describes in detail the methods of extracting square and cube roots in the binary number system. The method for extracting the square root of a binary number is similar to the corresponding method for decimal numbers, which is called the "column method". As for decimal numbers, when choosing the next digit of the root, twice the current value of the root, represented in the binary system, is used. When extracting the cube root (also "column"), there are two differences from the decimal system. The first is that instead of 300 (the product of 3 and 100), the binary number 1100 is used (that is, the product of the binary equivalents of the numbers 3 and 4). The second difference is that instead of the number 30 (the product of 3 and 10), the binary number 110 is used (that is, the product of binary analogs numbers 3 and 2). To facilitate the selection of the next root digit (0 or 1), a number of standard values have been calculated, depending on the current root value. Assignments for independent work of students are offered.

Abstract (sommario):
It is considered the possibility of optimizing the use of the power capabilities of the cube-sat platform included in the "distributed satellite" to improve the performance of its payload. To optimize the use of energy capabilities, it was proposed to disconnect the onboard equipment of the command-and-telemetric radio link in the mode of regular operation of cube-sat in the "distributed satellite". To measure the current navigation parameters of cube-satellite in the conditions of group flight in the "distributed satellite" it is proposed to use the coordinates of the cube-satellite in the satellite coordinate system of the "distributed satellite" root satellite and the relative cube-relative velocity vector relative to the root satellite as the initial data. It is proposed to use a technique based on measurements of the distances between satellites in a "distributed satellite" and the projections of the vector of relative velocity for these distances to determine the coordinates of cube-sat in the satellite coordinate system. The features of the WiMAX broadband access protocol IEEE 802.16 protocols are examined to determine whether it is possible to perform mutual position measurements of satellites as part of a "distributed satellite" in one channel with information transmission. It pointed that the use of built-in means of measuring the range and access of mobile stations to the mobile WiMAX network makes it possible to perform measurements of the distance from the root satellite to the final satellite - cube-sat in the "distributed satellite". To perform the operations of measuring distances between the final satellites in the "distributed satellite", it is proposed to use the "competitive access zone" of the uplink sub-frame in the WiMAX network. A procedure for measuring the range between terminal satellites is proposed, based on measuring the propagation time of the distance measurement test signal between the assigned terminal satellites. It proposed a procedure for transmitting a test signal, taking into account the features of multiple access with orthogonal carrier separation (OFDMA). The proposed procedure can be implemented in a variant of the IEEE 802.16 standard network for application in a "distributed satellite"

We consider the oriented binary tree and the oriented hypercube. The tree edges are oriented from the root to the leaves, while the orientation of the cube edges is induced by the direction from 0 to 1 in the coordinatewise form. The problem is to embed such a tree with l levels into the oriented n-cube as an oriented subgraph, for minimal possible n. A new approach to such problems is presented, which improves the known upper bound n/l ≤ 3/2 given by Havel [1] to n/l ≤ 4/3 + o(1) as l → ∞.

Abstract (sommario):
The tree interconnection network lends itself to several suitably structured applications. However, the low connectivity at each node, traffic congestion and single point of failure at the root node reduce reliability and availability. Both the hypertree and X-tree are fault-tolerant variants of the basic tree network and have been the focus of more recent implementation and research interest. In this paper, we consider a recently proposed family of interconnection networks known as the Josephus Cubes and show how hypertrees, X-trees and ringed X-trees of arbitrary height can be near-optimally embedded in this novel interconnection network.

Abstract (sommario):
We consider the ways in which a 4-tangle T inside a unit cube can be extended outside the cube into a knot or link L. We present two links n(T) and d(T) such that the greatest common divisor of the determinants of these two links always divides the determinant of the link L. In order to prove this result we give a two-integer invariant of 4-tangles. Calculations are facilitated by viewing the determinant as the Kauffman bracket at a fourth root of -1, which sets the loop factor to zero. For rational tangles, our invariant coincides with the value of the associated continued fraction.

Abstract (sommario):
Voronoi and Delaunay (Delone) cells of the root and weight lattices of the Coxeter–Weyl groupsW(An) andW(Dn) are constructed. The face-centred cubic (f.c.c.) and body-centred cubic (b.c.c.) lattices are obtained in this context. Basic definitions are introduced such as parallelotope, fundamental simplex, contact polytope, root polytope, Voronoi cell, Delone cell,n-simplex,n-octahedron (cross polytope),n-cube andn-hemicube and their volumes are calculated. The Voronoi cell of the root lattice is constructed as the dual of the root polytope which turns out to be the union of Delone cells. It is shown that the Delone cells centred at the origin of the root latticeAnare the polytopes of the fundamental weights ω1, ω2,…, ωnand the Delone cells of the root latticeDnare the polytopes obtained from the weights ω1, ωn−1and ωn. A simple mechanism explains the tessellation of the root lattice by Delone cells. It is proved that the (n−1)-facet of the Voronoi cell of the root latticeAnis an (n−1)-dimensional rhombohedron and similarly the (n−1)-facet of the Voronoi cell of the root latticeDnis a dipyramid with a base of an (n−2)-cube. The volume of the Voronoi cell is calculatedviaits (n−1)-facet which in turn can be obtained from the fundamental simplex. Tessellations of the root lattice with the Voronoi and Delone cells are explained by giving examples from lower dimensions. Similar considerations are also worked out for the weight latticesAn* andDn*. It is pointed out that the projection of the higher-dimensional root and weight lattices on the Coxeter plane leads to theh-fold aperiodic tiling, wherehis the Coxeter number of the Coxeter–Weyl group. Tiles of the Coxeter plane can be obtained by projection of the two-dimensional faces of the Voronoi or Delone cells. Examples are given such as the Penrose-like fivefold symmetric tessellation by theA4root lattice and the eightfold symmetric tessellation by theD5root lattice.

Abstract (sommario):
This paper attempts to find one of Sunan Abi Dawud's scholarly books: "Bazdl Al-Majhud Fi Halli Aby Dawud". After a brief review of this book in various aspects it turns out that the book is a complete study of Sunan Abi Dawud than the previous books of science. This book is very important because it contains many legends of hadiths related to the law. In addition, the book of Abi Dawud is included in the group of classics of the hadith (cube cube) so there is an expression "if there is no other hadith book, the Abi Dawud is sufficient to understand the religion".

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract A modified liquid chromatographic (LC) procedure, including an improved extraction, has been developed to analyze rotenone in root powders of derris and cube. The procedure is also applicable to formulations. Samples are sonicated for 5 min in chloroform or a mixed solvent of tetrahydrofuran-acetonitrile-water-glacial acetic acid, followed by liquid chromatography. Rotenone content of 4 lots of root powder samples showed good agreement between the new extraction and the AOAC official extraction; coefficients of variation ranged from 5 to 1.2%. Five formulations were also analyzed and showed good agreement with results for methanol extraction. Coefficients of variation were 4.5% or less. Purity of the rotenone peaks was tested by using a photodiode array detector in the spectrum and UV ratio modes. It is recommended that the new method be tested collaboratively.

Abstract (sommario):
The existence as well as the computation of roots appears in number theory, algebra, numerical analysis and other areas. The present study illustrate the contributions of several authors towards the extraction of different order roots of real number. Different methods with several approaches are studied to extract the roots of real number. Some of the methods described earlier are equivalent as observed in the present study. Heron developed a general iteration formula to determine the cube root of a real number N i.e. $\displaystyle\sqrt[3]{N}=a+\frac{bd}{bd+aD}(b-a)$, where $a^3<N<b^3$, $d=N-a^3$ and $D=b^3-N$ . Although the direct proof of the above method is not available in literature, some authors have proved the same with the help of conjectures. In the present investigation, the proof of Heron's method is explained and is generalized for any odd order roots. Thereafter it is observed that Heron's method is a particular case of the generalized method.

Abstract (sommario):
Number sense requires, at least, an ability to assess magnitude information represented by number symbols. Most educated adults are able to assess magnitude information of rational numbers fairly quickly, including whole numbers and fractions. It is to date unclear whether educated adults without training are able to assess magnitudes of irrational numbers, such as the cube root of 41. In a computerized experiment, we asked mathematically skilled adults to repeatedly choose the larger of two irrational numbers as quickly as possible. Participants were highly accurate on problems in which reasoning about the exact or approximate value of the irrational numbers’ whole number components (e.g., 3 and 41 in the cube root of 41) yielded the correct response. However, they performed at random chance level when these strategies were invalid and the problem required reasoning about the irrational number magnitudes as a whole. Response times suggested that participants hardly even tried to assess magnitudes of the irrational numbers as a whole, and if they did, were largely unsuccessful. We conclude that even mathematically skilled adults struggle with quickly assessing magnitudes of irrational numbers in their symbolic notation. Without practice, number sense seems to be restricted to rational numbers.

Abstract (sommario):
Firstly, a genetic algorithm (GA) and simulated annealing (SA) optimized fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm (FCM) was proposed in this paper, which was developed to allow for a clustering analysis of the massive concrete cube specimen compression test data. Then, using an optimized error correction time series estimation method based on the wavelet neural network (WNN), a concrete cube specimen compressive strength test data estimation model was constructed. Taking the results of cluster analysis as data samples, the short-term accurate estimation of concrete quality was carried out. It was found that the mean absolute percentage error, e1, and the root mean square error, e2, for the samples were 6.03385% and 3.3682KN, indicating that the proposed method had higher estimation accuracy and was suitable for concrete compressive test data short-term quality estimations.
