Abstract (sommario):
This study delved into the enteric protozoa of swine, their importance in swine production and as zoonoses. The lack of knowledge about them is a major problem facing pig production, mostly in backyard conditions associated with a low socio-cultural and sanitary level, the easy transmission between conspecifics and also to humans, producing economic losses and compromising human health in favorable hygienic conditions for the development of diseases. Searches were made in Scopus, Web of Science, Redalyc, EBSCO, Scielo and Google Scholar databases. A combination of search terms such as ("Protozoa" OR "gastrointestinal" OR "Zoonosis") AND ("Swine") AND ("Importance") and descriptors such as "Incidence" "Prevalence", "Pathogenesis", "Transmission" were used. The bibliography consulted showed that Balantidiosis and Cryptosporidiosis are among the most common gastrointestinal diseases produced by protozoa in pigs, causing infections at this level and transmission to humans through the consumption of contaminated food or water, direct contact with infected pigs and environmental contamination. The bibliography consulted showed that Balantidiosis and Cryptosporidiosis are among the most common gastrointestinal diseases caused by protozoa in pigs, causing infections at this level and transmission to humans through the consumption of contaminated food or water, direct contact with infected pigs and environmental contamination. The research reflected the wide worldwide distribution given in good measure by the resistance of these protozoa to adverse environmental conditions, direct and indirect transmission, vulnerability in immunologically and socioeconomically sensitive human populations, as well as economic losses in the swine industry. The paper concludes by reflecting on the impact of gastrointestinal protozoa on swine and public health, with the need to raise human awareness on hygienic sanitary measures and safe food and water consumption

Abstract (sommario):
Background. Smoking is given by the tobacco consumption. Thus all smoking economic benefits are based on this fact. Some economic sectors are benefited from the smoking economic impact over the health services demand. The magnitude of these economic benefits is given by the relevancy from the effective demand of health services attributable to smoking. Objective. To describe the main economic benefits attributable to smoking. Materials and methods. As theoric methods were used the historic – logic the inductive – deductive and the comparative. As empiric method it used the bibliographic research. Results. The financial resources able to access to the health services may be limited by the same reason that motive the health service demand: the smoking. One of the more singular economic benefits from smoking is given by the smoker earlier death. The smoker over-mortality carries to reduce the demand of Social Security services to retired people agree to life expectation reduction. Much times the unquestionable health valued isn´t sufficiently considered by fiscal authorities who consider more important at short time the practice value from the smoking economic benefits. That’s why it isn´t sufficient with the understanding and acknowledge from the smoking impact over the life quality and life expectation. Conclusion. The social and the human development may not be supported in the existence of a risk factor that reduces the life value reducing the health quality and life expectative at same time, which raise the living cost and favor to a reduced people number across the addiction to the nicotine.

Agriculture and farming created special traditions which have transformed into popular costums and believes during centuries and changing nations' cultural consumption remarkably. The change and spread of our culture itself and culture consumption is not only an ethnical and sociological question but also an economic one. This is the reason why I think it is important to define the culture in the aspect of the economy as due to it we can form different culture consuming groups. I denominate three of the most important directions and dimensions according to the bibliography processed until now. These are the following: traditional, autonomous and heteronomous cultural dimensions. The first step of my research is to expound the possible consumers of these dimensions mentioned above, the permeability between dimensions or their exclusivity if there is any. At the end of the day I would like to show the new challenges and possible solutions of culture marketing considering the categories defined by me in the meantime.

Abstract (sommario):
This work focuses on a very important and current problem in the gas field: gas losses in natural gas distribution networks and their impact on the environment, as well as on the company operating the network. The paper starts with a bibliographic study and aims to identify the sources leading to losses, estimate loss volumes, reduce these losses by replacing high-risk pipeline sections, as well as trace the economic, environmental, and social impact. The calculation methodologies used in various countries in estimating these consumptions are very diverse. Romania uses a very dense methodology that can prompt very broad variations in the values obtained for technological consumption calculations using Order 18/2014, due to the multitude of parameters that must be estimated. To reduce some of the uncertainties in estimating these parameters, a study was proposed and carried out on the ill-fittings in the natural gas distribution systems. The article presents the experimental stand, the analysis of the experimental data, the methodology for calculating gas losses in the natural gas distribution system through leaking equipment, as well as the results obtained and the conclusions. Moreover, an application was made for a dynamic area check of the gas balance. Based on the correlations between the annual values in M&R stations, AMR, the volume for small consumers, technological consumption, linepack, and the equipment and materials used in the network, useful data were obtained in the diagnosis of problem areas. The end of the paper shows an economic calculation regarding the replacement of problematic pipeline sections in natural gas distribution networks. The difference between the volume of investments and the income from loss reduction is very large, but the aspect of protecting the environment and eliminating technological risks intervenes, thus increasing social security and health.

Abstract (sommario):
Purpose: The aim of this study is to explain the trends of published research on Caring Economics and their implications for the development of future research. Theoritical Framework: Caring Economics is a novel approach to considering human prosperity. According to conventional economics, prosperity is determined by consumption, income, and wealth. Caring Economics, in contrast, conceives of prosperity in terms of more fundamental causes of long-term human wellbeing. From this perspective, individuals are prosperous when their lives are going well. This feeling of success is not limited primarily to the satisfaction of materialistic demands and desires. Moreover, it contains an interpersonal component. Design/methodology/approach: This research method is a bibliographic analysis using data from the Google Scholar database, the most popular indexer in Indonesia. To collect data, Harzing Publish or Perish was used with the central database of Google Scholar. VosViewer is also used as a tool to get a map of the relationship between authors and between searched keywords. Furthermore, Microsoft Excel is used to process the data and tree mapping from the data obtained. Findings: This research is essential to drive the development of a sustainable caring economics paradigm in realizing collective economic prosperity. The results of this study indicate that the type of research with the theme of Caring economics is not widely published, namely 32 publications of research results and conceptual scientific ideas. Focused and Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies is the most influential journal in Caring Economics research, namely H-index 4. The most cited Caring Economics researcher from 2015 to 2022 is Indra Darmawan, with 4 citations. Silvia Hedenigg followed in second place with 4 citations and Mit Witjaksono with 2 citations. After being traced, Indra Darmawan and Mit Witjaksono came from the State University of Malang. Researcher Silvia Hedenigg comes from Friedensau Adventist University institution. Research, Practical & Social implications: The results and findings indicate that caring economics research has not been widely studied in economics, economic education, community economics, health, and services related to humans and the economy. Empirically, problems related to concerns in economics, financial education, community economics, health, and services related to humans and the economy must be investigated to solve the issues faced. It is essential to implement caring economics to build the Indonesian economy towards social justice for all Indonesians by realizing a prosperous Indonesia as a whole. Originality/value: This finding has implications for efforts to encourage academics and researchers in Indonesia to discover caring economics to revitalize the economy from the micro to macro level so that Indonesia's economic fundamentals are getting stronger. In addition, it is recommended for collaborative research between institutions to enrich scientific wealth and develop a more comprehensive research study on Caring Economics.

Abstract (sommario):
The Brazilian electricity sector currently needs a technological and sustainable reform to boost the country development. At the same time, restructuring has been taking place around the world through the insertion of alternative energy sources, new tariffs systems, the adaptation of new technologies and habits changes that have an impact on energy consumption. The consumer attitude towards the electric power consumption is a fundamental factor against the economic, social and environmental perspectives, praising the importance of having a population engaged and aware about their consumption acts impacts. Starting from the point that access to information and knowledge is the way to achieve significant changes, this study presents the development of a system for load characterization in white, conventional or horo-seasonal tariff modalities - according to consumer classification - in order to obtain comparison parameters that aid in the decision making as to the adhesion to the most appropriate tariff modality. The research techniques used were the bibliography and case study based on energy loads from a supermarket in the city of Vitoria, ES. In this way, after receiving the input parameters, load configuration and consumption schedules, the system generates the values associated to the tariffs rates and tariff calculations. Furthermore, the system presents the monthly load curve and the electric consumption profile of an installation from the survey of equipment possessions and use habits. The system developed based on the loads in a supermarket and proved successful in processing the demand curves. Keywords: Demand Curve. Tariff Modalities. Consumption Management

Abstract (sommario):
The process of the linear exploration production, production, usage and waste generation has been taking humanity to the planetary boundaries. The transition to circular economy models dissociates the economic growth from the natural resource depletion and from the environmental degradation. The opportunity to make changes and to find vital solutions to the planet's sustainability emerge in the cities, due to its relevance on population growth, production and consumption. The objective of this research is promoting the understanding of the transition from linear production to the circular economy applied to the sustainable development of cities. The methodology is based on the qualitative approach and the applied technique follows the stages of the bibliographic research. The objectives classify this research as an exploratory, descriptive study with explanatory slant. The bibliographic sources are mostly selected from 2015, when the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement were signed, until 2020. The search of the existing circular models provides, even in transition from the linear process, valuable contributions to the resource protection, promotion of the production and sustainable consumption, as well as the generation of new income opportunities, of market and of social integration. The results of the analyzes of the selected studies indicate that the sustainable urban development can be enabled by the implementation of circular systems on a holistic and inclusive approach..

Abstract (sommario):
The sustainability of the supply of electrical energy at favorable levels for growing and sustainable human development in the current context is in question due to the accelerated depletion of fossil fuels for electrical generation. Therefore, it is pertinent from the country's senior management to develop a global strategy that favors the gradual replacement of the consumption of fossil fuels for electricity generation with technologies that use solar energy as a basis for electricity generation. Describe some of the most significant economic conditions associated with the greater use of solar energy in Cuba for human development. A descriptive observational study was carried out of some of the main conditions existing in Cuba for the greater use of photovoltaic solar energy for electrical consumption. For this, scientific observation and bibliographic review were used as scientific methods. The strategy of emigration from electricity generation with fossil fuel to generation with photovoltaic panels in Cuba must be thought, planned, planned and executed from the convergence of national and foreign economic interests. Committing to the greater use of photovoltaic solar panels does not mean giving up conventional sources for electricity generation, but rather diversifying the national energy matrix in pursuit of greater economic, political and social benefits. To this end, the ingenuity of human resources to adapt to any scenario, together with the motivational benefits for domestic and foreign capital, can constitute the most complete formula to stimulate the greatest possible participation in electricity generation with photovoltaic solar panels in Cuba.

Abstract (sommario):
ObjectivePremenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a very common disorder worldwide which carries an important economic burden. We conducted a systematic review and a meta-analysis to assess the role of alcohol in the occurrence of PMS.MethodsWe searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, the five regional bibliographic databases of the WHO, the Proceedings database and the Open Access Thesis and Dissertations (OATD) from inception to May 2017. We also reviewed the references of every article retrieved and established personal contact with researchers to trace further publications or reports. We did not include any language limitations. Studies were included if: (1) they presented original data from cohort, case-control or cross-sectional studies, (2) PMS was clearly defined as the outcome of interest, (3) one of the exposure factors was alcohol consumption, (4) they provided estimates of odds ratios, relative risks, or any other effect measure and their confidence intervals, or enough data to calculate them.ResultsWe identified 39 studies of which 19 were eligible. Intake of alcohol was associated with a moderate increase in the risk of PMS (OR=1.45, 95% CI: 1.17 to 1.79). Heavy drinking yielded a larger increase in the risk than any drinking (OR=1.79, 95% CI: 1.39 to 2.32).DiscussionOur results suggest that alcohol intake presents a moderate association with PMS risk. Future studies should avoid cross-sectional designs and focus on determining whether there is a threshold of alcohol intake under which the harmful effect on PMS is non-existent.

Abstract (sommario):
While globalization promotes the homogenization of consumption, it is possible to observe during the last years a change in consumers' behavior towards a valorization of local products produced traditionally. In this context are the Geographical Indications (GIs), responsible for identifying the origin of a given product or service when its place of origin has become known for its production or when certain product quality is linked to its demographic origin. The GIs also preserve local traditions and the natural environment, as well as foster farmers’ market access, which makes these labels be seen as a development tool. Therefore, this work verifies the potential of GIs to contribute to the dimensions of sustainable development (SD), which are economic, social, and environmental. A bibliographic literature review was carried out. Results show that a GI can contribute to the three dimensions of sustainability, which are social, economic, and environmental.

Abstract (sommario):
This research proposes to analyze the incidence in the micro-business sector of the economic and health crisis in Ecuador from its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment and the gradual increase in poverty. Sales due to a drastic decrease in generalized demand during confinement, coupled with the lack of resources, caused the fiscal coffers to have lower income, consumption to decrease, as well as income and liquidity. A chronological documentary, bibliographic and qualitative review was carried out, which will verify the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in this sector that moves 90% of the national economy. The results show that the figures for the economic crisis have been accentuated in the months of the state of emergency. The economy decreased by -2.4% with respect to the period of 2019. From the micro-business sector and government policies, no concrete solutions have been found to mitigate the problems of recession. However, microenterprises have become a means to boost the country's socioeconomic growth.

Abstract (sommario):
Fish and fish products are considered a fundamental part of the human diet due to their high nutritional value. Food-borne diseases are considered a major public health challenge worldwide due to their incidence, associated mortality, and negative economic repercussions. Food safety is the guarantee that foods will not cause harm to the health of those who consume them, and it is a fundamental property of food quality. Food safety can be at risk of being lost at any stage of the food chain if the food is contaminated by pathogenic microorganisms. Many diverse bacteria are present in the environment and as part of the microbiota of food that can be transmitted to humans during the handling and consumption of food. Plesiomonas shigelloides has been mainly associated with outbreaks of gastrointestinal diseases due to the consumption of fish. This bacterium inhabits the environment and aquatic animals and is associated with the microbiota of fish such as tilapia, a fish of importance in fishing, aquaculture, commercialization, and consumption worldwide. The purpose of this document is to provide, through a bibliographic review of databases (Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, among others), a general informative perspective on food-borne diseases and, in particular, the consumption of fish and tilapia. Diseases derived from contamination by Plesiomonas shigelloides are included, and control and prevention actions and sanitary regulations for fishery products established in several countries around the world are discussed to promote the safety of foods of aquatic origin intended for human consumption and to protect public health.

Abstract (sommario):
There is considerable scientific evidence revealing a decrease in pollinating insects in different ecosystems around the world. In this context, agricultural intensification and the use of phytosanitary products are likely the main causes. This problem is common to many pollinators but of particular ecosystemic, economic and bromatological significance for honey bees (Apis mellifera) since their presence in these landscapes is mainly due to the proximity of apiaries for human food production and because they are the most important biotic pollinators of agricultural crops. In this review, we present a synthesis of the results of several years of research on this topic, as well as potential solutions referenced in the bibliography that might help alleviate the effects of contamination on honey bees and their products. Additionally, we expose the possible limits of the real implementation of such solutions and conclude on the need to implement land-use planning strategies for agricultural systems. Without mitigating actions in the short term, the sustainability of agricultural ecosystems as bee-friendly habitats and the production of foods suitable for human consumption are uncertain.

Abstract (sommario):
Reducing the environmental pressure along the products life cycle, increasing efficiency in the consumption of resources and use of renewable raw materials, and shifting the economic system toward a circular and a climate-neutral model represent the heart of the current macro-trends of the European Union (EU) policy agendas. The circular economy and bioeconomy concepts introduced in the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan and the Bioeconomy Strategy support innovation in rethinking economic systems focusing on market uptaking of greener solutions based on less-intensive resource consumption. In recent decades, industrial research has devoted enormous investments to demonstrate sustainable circular bio-based business models capable of overcoming the “Valley of Death” through alternative strategic orientations of “technological-push” and “market-pull”. The study highlights industrial research’s evolution on bio-based circular business model validation, trends, and topics with particular attention to the empowering capacity of start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to close the loops in renewable biological use and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The research methodology involves a bibliographic search based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) approach and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator Data Hub investigation to understand SMEs’ key success factors and start-ups of the circular bioeconomy sector. Eco and bio-based materials, nutraceuticals, and microalgae represent the most sustainable industry applications, leading to circular bioeconomy business models’ future perspective.

Abstract (sommario):
The aim of the study was to examine the changes in fruit market in the years 2010 and 2015. The analysis was based on data collected in the statistical publications of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, reports provided by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economy - National Research Institute, as well as other bibliographic items. It should be noted that, in the study period, there was a decrease in the fruit cultivation branch, which did not result with a drop in the harvest, but an increase. In the fruit harvest dominate apples, cherries, plums, strawberries, raspberries and currants. There was also a significant increase in the harvest of blueberries. It can be seen that there is a growing tendency among Polish people for the consumption of fruits and fruit products, especially processed products and juices. Important is the fact that the fruit harvest in particular years depends heavily on the atmospheric conditions.

Abstract (sommario):
Statistical data taken from the literature is reviewed to revisit and re-examine the impact of global humanity upon the biosphere and to provide a broad bibliography of issues relating to sustainability. The data shows the continuing decline of animal and plant populations and forest area, while at the same time human population, resource usage and pollution continue to increase. Analysis of forest area data shows that with the current human population growth rate and resource consumption, combined with increasing forest fires due to global warming, forests will be eradicated within 85 years. Using the same data, the carrying capacity of the planet is estimated to be 2.5 billion with current resource usage and 8 billion with one third of current resource usage. Plantation to rebuild forests, moderation of consumption, and family management to reduce and stabilize population, are identified as the main factors required for achieving sustainability. Views of what leads to prosperity is at the root of the sustainability crisis, and this is examined in relation to alternative values and economic models. The ideology of consumerism is discussed as accelerating the decline of natural resources. The teachings of Saint Francis of Assissi, the patron saint of the environment, and the ideals of indigenous cultures are considered as a source of values that can be adopted to transform the modern world into a more sustainable, eco-friendly world in which humans and the biosphere can thrive. Keywords: sustainability, environment, prosperity, economy, biosphere, population, morality

Abstract (sommario):
Among the existing experiences, the Companies B movement stands out, which meets an increasingly demanding and conscious consumer and investor demand when correlating the environmental issue and the impact on consumption, under the slogan “not being the best company in the world, but the best for the world”. The purpose of the research is to identify different ways in which a B-Corp can benefit the environment and the local community. For this, a methodology with a qualitative and exploratory approach was used, in which the bibliographic survey, the documentary research and the structured interview about the experience of the Hotel Evergreen Lodge Yosemite were used as technical procedures. Companies B constitute a pragmatic movement of paradigmatic transience between economies that on the one hand have a rationality of short-term economic gains, however with long-term socio-environmental losses, and on the other hand, a new economy, which reconciles ecosystem-economic gains, under construction, in the sense that the experiments are ongoing. Examples of how it is possible to conduct the management of a company in an economically responsible manner, defending principles of social and environmental ethics in relation to local development, understood as community, and its overlap with other spaces. Keywords: Ecodevelopment. Abstract (sommario):
Through a review of aquaponic techniques, the present work highlights the interest aroused by this practice in the world as well as different modes of exploitation. Aquaponics is defined as a coupling between a recirculated aquaculture compartment and an aboveground crop compartment. Since two decades, it has been the subject of a significant economic activity in Canada, the USA, Australia and induces numerous research activities. This system is subdivided into three (3) major techniques which are the culture techniques on bed of inert substrates, on nutritive film and that of rafts. Aquaponics is the subject of profitable industrial economic activity on both large and small scale in the USA and Canada. Given the benefits of low water consumption, then on-use of fertilizers and pesticides, aquaponics is unquestionably according to researchers and users, the system capable of revolutionizing livestock farming and agriculture around the world. Côte d'Ivoire is suffering not only from the consequences of climate change but also from rapid urbanization, with the consequent change in water resources. Aquaponics deserves to be mastered then popularized in this country, to help produce fish and plants of better quality while avoiding the waste of water caused by traditional livestock systems.

Abstract (sommario):
It is estimated that the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) increases annually due to planned obsolescence, technological changes and changes in people's lifestyles. The aim of the present study is to identify risks and opportunities related to WEEE from an environmental, social and economic point of view, considering the intensified use of technology, the generation and the need to treat this waste. The study consisted of a bibliographic research followed by three case studies with waste disposal companies. Therefore, a table was drawn up outlining the risks and opportunities of WEEE, considering different points of view. From the environmental point of view, there is a risk of increasing the consumption of this equipment to increase the illegal and incorrect disposal, but the extraction of non-renewable raw materials can be reduced by implementing reverse logistics. From the economic perspective, the costs involved in the reverse logistics of WEEE are not clearly known; however, there is an expanding market for WEEE management. From the social point of view, the risk is the increase of informal and insecure work, which can be minimized through investments from public and private powers, thus generating formal jobs.

Abstract (sommario):
Civilizations are large energy consumers, so the more civilized a people, the greater their energy consumption. However, studies have shown that the way energy is produced is polluting and focused on finite resources. This study aimed to take stock of the scientific literature on renewable energies, identifying their advantages and disadvantages. The conceptual bibliographic method was used in its four stages: formulation of guiding questions, collection and organization of data, and presentation of responses generated by handling data obtained from Google Scholar and Periódico Capes. The results showed that a) renewable energy comes from a natural cyclothymic source, b) the advantages of renewable energy are almost all of an environmental nature, and c) the disadvantages are of an economic-financial nature. The conclusion shows that the time has come for a decision to be made between paying the high price of environmental sustainability or continuing with the lower costs of compromising the continuity of life on the planet.

Abstract (sommario):
The dam is a reservoir that stores about 450,000,000 cubic meters of water, has multiple purposes allowing flood control, produces irrigation water, for human consumption and shrimp farming in the area center of the province of Manabí. The first studies for the construction of the dam were carried out in the years 1970 to 1975 as a result of the hydrological/economic feasibility plan of the Province of Manabí, and of the integral hydro-agricultural area of the Carrizal Chone Basin. After several preliminary studies with different international firms and with changes of designs in 1992, the Dragados and Constructions SA Company was in charge of the construction of what is now the Manabí water project. It is located in the parish of Quiroga approximately 12 kilometers from the cantonal canton of Bolívar Canton, Calceta, with an extension of 2,500 hectares, with a construction area of 120 hectares and will allow irrigation of 17,000 hectares of the central area of Manabí. The objective of the work is to make an analysis of the construction of the La Esperanza dam. For this, the logical historical method was used, as well as the bibliography search to know the historical construction of the dam, as well as the observation method.

Abstract (sommario):
Tourism is an economic activity that is characterized by the consumption of space. The visible portion of the geographical space - the landscape - is very important for this economic activity. The landscape is the first contact the tourist has with a destination, hence the importance of the landscape for the location visited. We could say that the landscape is a tourism heritage, as it is a visual synthesis of natural and human elements in a territory, elements that are transformed, through their original and unique values, into tourism resources. However, the landscape as a support for the development of tourism activities must be understood and analyzed if it is to support the practice of tourism, based on its urban uniqueness as a tourist attraction. The method used in this study is predominantly qualitative, and the data collection and analysis tools were developed based on a bibliographic, documentary and iconographic review. After collecting the data, they were selected and arranged, favoring in the analysis, the descriptive method of interpretation and explanation of the potential of the urban landscape in the town. Based on the results, which indicate that the landscape is an attraction for the practice of tourism, this study analyzes the urban landscape of the town of Dourados-MS as a potential aspect for tourism development.

Abstract (sommario):
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a double role in the strife for sustainable development goals, as both an enabler of green solutions and a cause of excessive consumption. While the primary focus of sustainability-related research is on the hardware aspect of ICT, its software aspect also deserves attention. In order for the notion of green and sustainable software to become widespread among practitioners, models are needed, both to be used as a reference on how to develop sustainable software, and to check whether given software or its development process is sustainable. In this paper, we present the results of a scoping review of literature on sustainable software models, based on 41 works extracted from an initial set of 178 query results from four bibliographic data providers. The relevant literature is mapped using five categories (model scope, purpose, covered sustainability aspects, verification or validation, and the economic category of the country of research), allowing us to identify recent trends and research gaps, which can be addressed in future work.

Abstract (sommario):
Cities and buildings represent the core of human life, the nexus of economic activity, culture, and growth. Although cities cover less than 10% of the global land area, they are notorious for their substantial energy consumption and consequential carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. These emissions significantly contribute to reducing the carbon budget available to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change. In this context, the designers’ role is crucial to the technical and social response to climate change, and providing a new generation of tools and instruments is paramount to guide their decisions towards sustainable buildings and cities. In this regard, data-informed digital tools are a viable solution. These tools efficiently utilise available resources to estimate the energy consumption in buildings, thereby facilitating the formulation of effective urban policies and design optimisation. Furthermore, these data-driven digital tools enhance the application of algorithms across the building industry, empowering designers to make informed decisions, particularly in the early stages of design. This paper presents a comprehensive literature review on artificial intelligence-based tools that support performance-driven design. An exhaustive keyword-driven exploration across diverse bibliographic databases yielded a consolidated dataset used for automated analysis for discerning the prevalent themes, correlations, and structural nuances within the body of literature. The primary findings indicate an increasing emphasis on master plans and neighbourhood-scale simulations. However, it is observed that there is a lack of a streamlined framework integrating these data-driven tools into the design process.

Abstract (sommario):
A lot of autonomous power systems have been designed and operated with different power levels and with special requirements for climatic conditions, availability, operation/maintenance cost, fuel consumption, environmental impacts, etc. In this paper a novel design of an autonomous power system with photovoltaic panels and electrochemical batteries for a shoreline electrode station is analyzed. This station will be constructed on the small island of Stachtoroi for the new high voltage direct current (HVDC) link of Attica–Crete in Greece. The general guidelines of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) and of the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) for the power system of lighting and auxiliary loads for these HVDC stations are supplied from the medium voltage or the low voltage distribution network, whereas they do not take into account the criticality of this interconnection, which will practically be the unique power facility of Crete island. The significance of Crete power system interconnection demands an increased reliability level for the power sources, similar to military installations and hospital surgeries. In this research a basic electrical installation design methodology is presented. First, the autonomous photovoltaic power system with the energy storage system (ESS) consisting of electrochemical batteries is preliminary designed according to the relative bibliography. The station power and energy consumption are analytically determined taking into consideration the daily temperature variation annually. Afterwards, a techno-economic optimization process based on a sensitivity analysis is formed modifying the size/power of photovoltaic panels (PVs), the type and the energy capacity of the batteries taking into consideration the operation cycle of PVs—batteries charge and discharge and the battery ageing based on the relationship between battery cycles—the depth of discharge, the daily solar variation per month, the installation cost of PVs and batteries, the respective maintenance cost, etc., while the reliability criteria of expected loss of load power and of load energy are satisfied. Using the proposed methodology the respective results are significantly improved in comparison with the preliminary autonomous power system design or the connection with the distribution power system.

Abstract (sommario):
Halal food consumption and the halal market economy in Europe have been steadily growing among both Muslim and non-Muslim populations. This growth has been propelled by the rising number of Muslim immigrants in European countries. The purpose of the present study was to systematically review and synthesize a multitude of existing scholarly findings extracted from peer-reviewed research and reliable web-based sources on the role of Muslim immigrants in the acculturation of halal food in European countries. An electronic database search in the available literature was conducted to identify and select data from cognate studies. The collected data were examined and analyzed employing a systematic review methodology. The combined findings of Muslim immigrants’ role and contributions to halal food acculturation in Europe are discussed. A systematic search of major electronic bibliographic databases, printed books, verified fact-based newspaper articles, and credible web-based sources was conducted. A cross section of a total of sixty-four data sources was included in this review. Findings suggest that the acculturation of the halal food process in European countries has been effective and facilitated by waves of Muslim immigrants, centuries of colonization of Muslim countries by many former European colonizers, adhering to religious requirements to consuming halal food, cultural and peer influences on halal food consumption, perceived control over consuming halal meat, developing a bicultural identity in the host country, as well as the increasing acceptance of the non-Muslim European consumer to consuming halal food as a healthier alternative to fast food and processed food products. There is a need for further research to better understand the economic and socio-cultural impact of the acculturation of halal food on the behavior of non-Muslim European consumers. This might serve as a paradigm for future research to better understand what influences halal food product consumption in non-Muslim European countries and globally.

Abstract (sommario):
Urban planning, as well as the type of city in which it takes place and is promoted, has changed a lot in Spanish cities since the return to democratically elected municipal governments in 1979. This work seeks to characterise the transformation that urban planning has undergone over the last 40 years. It sets out to do this by studying the cases of two medium-sized Catalan cities, their underlying city models, and the ways in which planning has been defined and managed in Catalonia. All of this was undertaken through a bibliographic and documentary analysis of the approved planning documents, which was accompanied by a study of the population dynamics and building cycles. In Spain, urban planning has been one of the instruments used to catalyse expectations for economic growth based on land consumption through urbanisation. Within this context, planning has progressed from fulfilling an initial requirement to regulate activities and urban growth (1979–1991) to facilitating urban development through a clearly expansive and speculative form of neoliberal urbanism (1993–2007) and, finally, to assuming a form in which these previous tendencies coexist with certain new orientations.

Abstract (sommario):
One characteristic that can be observed in family farming is the diversity of activities that are carried out concurrently on the property, providing and guaranteeing products for personal consumption or sale over the course of the year. Fish farming, an activity destined for fish production, is often one of these activities developed by family farmers and contributes to the access to quality protein for rural families and to increase income. Furthermore, the techniques used for fish production in family farming can foment a sustainable form of production. However, the lack of incentives regarding extension projects, marketing barriers, the lack of integration of traditional communities in decision making, and the absence of adequate technical information for the reality of rural properties make this activity limited and even ineffective in some regions. The encouragement of this activity could provide family farmers with improved economic conditions and food security and, consequently, the reduction of poverty in rural areas. The present study originated from a bibliographic review that addresses the activity of fish production and its impacts on the development of rural family activities, food security, and public and social policies for the maintenance, regularity, and quality of the final product.

Abstract (sommario):
Cities are critical to a sustainable future for our planet; still, the construction and operation of cities rely on intensive resource and energy use and transformation, leading to the generation of waste, effluents, and pollution, representing negative externalities outside and inside the city. Within every process, transformation implies the use of energy and the increase of entropy. In an urban system, the transformation of energy and materials will trigger the creation of entropic landscapes, mainly in the informal city and in unguarded natural landscapes, even hundreds of kilometers away, which generates substantial economic, social, and environmental impacts. In this sense, cities are significant contributors to the environmental crisis. Upstream, degradation of landscapes and ecosystems is frequent. Cities’ externalities and exogenous consumptions are directly linked with entropy and entropic landscapes, which are recognized as pollution (in the air, water, and land) or waste and in the degradation of natural ecosystems and communities. Through a systematic review of existing literature, this paper first outlines briefly how entropy has been applied in different disciplines and then focuses on presenting recent developments of how entropy has been defined, used, and characterized in urban studies concerning sustainability in cities and architecture, and presents a definition of the concept in relation to urban systems and key aspects to consider.

Abstract (sommario):
In many parts of the world, the concerns with the supply of electricity and the consequences regarding environmental issues related with greenhouse gas emissions have arouse the adoption of governmental policies which encourage a foreseen increase of renewable energy sources. As a result, renewable energy sources have shown a fast growth in production of electricity, by 2,8% a year between 2010 and 2040. After the renewable generation, Natural Gas and Nuclear Energy will be sources of fast growth. Once electric systems are always subject to possible contingents, it is of pivotal importance that they are capable of operating in a way of providing the highest reliability level desired by consumers of electricity. Within this context, the aim of this work is to present the regulatory structure and accession technical to the white fare. Bibliographic research and case study techniques were used to simulate consumer load curves classified in group B, subgroup B1, B2 and B3 with the exception of the low income and SMC category. The research establishes the comparison of white fare and conventional tariffs, seeking to situate the feasibility of choosing the current tariffs. Finally, the work presents the energy consumption behavior of each subgroup of group B, the consumer modulation capacity and the application of the tariff to residential and commercial consumers, in order to get the economic comparative analyzes already exposed. In a more in-depth analysis of the results, it appears that if consumers practiced really effective load modulation, only the discounts offered are not enough to choose their daily routine. Keywords – Tariff Flags. Energy consumption. Energy efficiency.

Abstract (sommario):
The design of steel structures has evolved thanks to the increased ability to model the behavior of more complex structures. However, further constraints arise from the need for a transition toward more sustainable production and consumption systems. In particular, the assessment of the economic benefits and efficiency of existing production systems should be integrated with assessment of environmental, economic and social sustainability. In the case of steel, and limited to the environmental dimension, the literature covers various study areas, ranging from the analysis of resource flows to the assessment of steel’s environmental impacts. However, an integrated view of existing peer-reviewed studies is currently missing. The purpose of this work is to overcome this shortcoming with a review that considers and integrates research on the steel life cycle from various perspectives: analysis of material flows; quantification of emissions; environmental monitoring and indicators; and circular economy aspects, including reuse and recycling. This study is based on a deep bibliometric and bibliographical analysis of the above-cited aspects, including the key topics, authors and journals, to single out some potential research directions that have previously been neglected. The results of the analyses indicate that, even though discussed in the literature, the redesign of products is still lacking adequate consideration. The same gap was also evidenced when it came to studies on the management of waste materials and recommissioning. There is also still a lack of knowledge on the possible meaningful indicators of environmental sustainability in the case of steel. Moreover, while digital technologies that enable sustainability are being intensely developed and widely implemented, the design, testing and application of sensors for the environmental monitoring of steel production is under-studied and the interaction of environmental factors with steel structures is poorly addressed. Finally, this work evidenced poor attention with respect to water and soil pollution generated in different phases of the steel life cycle. All these aspects should be considered in future research, which would also have a beneficial effect in the implementation of informed policies for a transition toward a circular and sustainable steel life cycle.

Abstract (sommario):
Environmental problems, by the nature, character and its implications, increasingly proves to be a global problem. The environment and its protection claims becoming more consistent management, a variety of intervention tools and ongoing communication with socio-economic actors, in order to minimize the phenomena of pollution and use of resources natural. Aware that the intensity of human activity is increasing the pressure on the environment, either by uncontrolled consumption of resources and space, either by producing waste that nature can not absorb without suffering, prompted the international community to move to initiate and support concrete actions to prevent, counteract and eliminate disturbing factors repercussions of ecological balance. Environmental issues can be made from multiple angles: legal, institutional, economic, technological, etc. This paper aims to address environmental responsibility that should be considered permanent so all economic agents and civil society. This scientific communication includes the results of extensive fundamental research on environmental protection, based on the study of numerous bibliographic sources printed and on-line. Also been studied and reports from international events made this topic, and studies published by international institutions. Ensuring a balance between economic growth and environmental protection in order to meet social development and perspectives, is the new concept, under which the governments of many countries rethink their economic strategies, concept called sustainable development and first presented in 1987 in Brundtland Report - "Our Common Future". Economic policy developed in unifying and generalizing vision of eco-development, organic content in all decision documents at all levels, the ecological criteria for "sustainable development". The environment is a public good because it answers three features that distinguish it from any other private public good: even when consumed by one, it remains available for others; one can not exclude someone from consuming a public good, while in the case of a public good, private, producer exclude all those who can not pay his price; the consumer can not exclude himself from using a public good. As economic development occurs within ecological systems over the years began to speak increasingly eco-development as a complex relationship between economic development and the natural environment. Characteristic of management at the beginning of XXI century is placing eco-economic relationship - the goals that I return man interrelated with the natural environment.

Abstract (sommario):
The article defines features of macroeconomic stability, its factors and approaches to assessment. This is the state of the national economy, in which aggregate demand and supply are balanced, production and consumption are balanced. The main goal of the article is to evaluate the integral indicator of macroeconomic stability as a general indicator of the state's economic development based on the financial statements of 35 European countries in 2010, 2015 and 2020. Solving the specified task contributes to the identification of the leading countries and their main socio-economic and anti-crisis policies, which can serve as guidelines for the adoption of balanced strategic decisions by other states. It was determined that the integral indicator of macroeconomic stability is a versatile assessment of the effectiveness of the national economy on the world market. The main indicators of the state's economic development are an increase in the volume of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Gross National Income (GNI), a decrease in the level of inflation and unemployment, the stability of the national monetary unit, the Gini index close to 0, etc. In the conditions of globalization, the list of indicators is constantly expanding. The following research tools were used in the article: methods of analysis and synthesis, grouping, bibliographic analysis, comparison method, factor analysis, calculation of the integral indicator, graphic method, etc. The use of the method of principal components confirmed the hypothesis that the first factor includes those indicators that exert a stronger influence on macroeconomic stability. Based on the visualization of the integral indicator of macroeconomic stability, the leading country – Switzerland – was determined. The socio-economic features and anti-crisis measures of the specified state can be a reference point for other countries. Among these characteristics, the following are highlighted: creation of compensation programs for companies in the post-crisis period; creation a flexible labour market; allocation of funds for research and development (in Switzerland – 3 % of GDP); combination of digitization processes with investment policy. The results of research can be useful for state bodies when developing elements of national economic policy.

Abstract (sommario):
The objective is to calculate the value of the green industrial PIB of a foundry in the territory of Santa Catarina and to contextualize its importance as a new methodological tool. To legitimize the objective of this study, the green GDP equation is equal to the Gross Sales Revenue (Industrial GDP) - (Depletion of Water Resources + Cost of Environmental Degradation). In this context, the depletion of natural resources corresponds to the total value of the extraction of water resources, and the cost of sectoral environmental degradation is given through the proxies of the methodology of the Industrial Pollution Projection System (IPPS) applied directly to the industrial product sector. estimate of the cost of the industrial sector studied here. Methodologically, it is an exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, bibliographic, documentary and ex post facto study. As a result, the green GDP of the foundry was lower than the industrial GDP in all the surveyed years. It is noticed that the industrial economic activity of the foundry, within these parameters of analysis, signals a loss of future sustainability, taking into account the years investigated. Therefore, in order for this particular industry to reverse this scenario, investments in technologies are necessary, in order to minimize the consumption of natural resources and consequently maximize its green GDP.

Abstract (sommario):
The excessive use of energy from fossil fuels, which corresponds to population, industrialisation, and unsustainable economic growth, is the cause of carbon dioxide production and climate change. The Water–Energy–Food (WEF) nexus is an applicable conceptual framework that helps manage the balance between human development and natural resource constraints, and it becomes a valuable tool to address the challenges of resource depletion and clean energy. This article aims to analyse the relationship between the WEF nexus and clean energy through a statistical analysis and a systematic review of knowledge on energy sustainability. The methodology involves the selection of bibliographic information databases such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), a statistical analysis, specifically the Scientometrics applied to the information obtained, and the identification of 179 scientific publications related to the study variables through a screening process called Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The interaction of green energy and sustainability with the WEF nexus has been approached mainly by developed countries such as China (10%), the United States (9.49%), India (7.26%), and Brazil (5.02%). The review of 55 scientific papers identified strategies that balance economic growth and environmental impact, applying clean energy systems (e.g., solar and wind), and the importance of adaptation to the subsystems of the WEF nexus. This study also highlights adaptability to climate change in rural and urban communities. Therefore, it is consistent with the four pillars of sustainable development (Economic: 7 papers, Environmental: 22, Social: 18, and Cultural: 8). This study highlights the following: (a) the importance of the use of renewable energy either in mixed systems and consumption, energy storage, and seeking energy efficiency in systems adapted to diverse environments and (b) the relevance of community participation in the decision-making process for the use of clean energy, such as a strategy for climate change adaptation.

Abstract (sommario):
The agro-industrial systems comprise activities which transform raw materials of agricultural, aquacultural, livestock and forestry industries from primary production stages to consumption. Pig farming stands out in national and international markets for agro-industrial processes such as slaughtering and meat processing. Although this sector positively contributes to the economies of several countries, the high flow of waste resulting from implementing integrated production systems has led to serious environmental consequences (e.g., polluted water bodies and Greenhouse Gases - GHGs emissions). Among the treatment methods, anaerobic digestion reduces the organic load of biomass in the absence of oxygen, generating biogas and organic fertilizer. However, there are limitations associated with high CH4 variability and low yield, resulting a minimal and slow implementation in Brazil. Some research has reported the use of mineral additives to optimize the digestion process. This study comprises a bibliographic review of pig farming systems and production models, followed by an analysis on a global scale and environmental consequences. It is also discussed the use of additive minerals which have been applied in anaerobic digestion of swine manure as well as some prospects for global advances with opportunities to mitigate GHGs and bottlenecks. Despite being a promising technology, detailed evaluations of the use of these additives and their implementation in treatment plants must still be carried out in such a way to understand the optimization of such process.

Abstract (sommario):
The objective of this bibliographic synthesis is to reveal the work already done on the food habits of the rural populations of Cote dIvoire and to deduce in perspective what is to be studied in a context of climate change. It is based on secondary data sources such as: published or edited books, scientific journal articles, websites, magazines and annual reports. The eating habits of rural Ivorian people are influenced by several factors, including cultural identities, nutrition criteria, ways of preparing and consuming food, but also by disasters, crises (economic, war, etc.), climate change, etc. The food habits of rural people in Cote dIvoire are based on several foods, mostly local. Tubers (yam, taro), roots (cassava), plantain, cereals (rice, maize, millet, sorghum) are used as main dishes, prepared under various recipes (foutou, attieke, toh, placali, etc.). These main courses are accompanied by sauces made of vegetables and fruits (okra, eggplant, peanuts, palm seeds, chili peppers, tomatoes...), vegetable leaves, meat, game, fish, insects... However, these peoples have many totems, taboos and food prohibitions of animal and vegetable origin which are likely to affect their nutritional state and even their health. All these researches did not provide details on food consumption frequencies nor on resilience or adaptation measures in the context of climate change affecting agricultural yields and related commodities.
