This research is part of the field of social psychology of work and organizations which is interested in professional socialization and psychosocial transition among female workers. The first part presents the socio-economic context that underlies and signifies the living conditions of new working mothers and the evolution of maternity rights in Vietnam. The 2nd part, summarizes the theories which make it possible to base the model of analysis of the research, which interprets the conduct of return to work as a process of professional / organizational (re)socialization and psychosocial transition. The 3rd part presents our main methodological tools: the interview and the Alceste analysis. In the 4th part, we expose the results of our research and their analysis. From a corpus of life stories of 36 Vietnamese women in the process of maternity, the discursive analysis by Alceste distinguishes four salient themes. The first (47.23% of the statements) relates to women's previous and current work activities in their institutional, organizational and legal contexts. The 2nd theme (i.e. 9.97%) presents the baby's choice of food and the mode of breastfeeding after returning to work. The sources of family support and the feelings of women during thematernity period are brought together in the 3rd theme (i.e. 30.38%). The 4th theme (14.42%) concerns methods of baby care and maternal care. Then, the tri-cross analyzes distinguish the types of return to work behaviors of working mothers according to the characteristics of the subjects, especially the regional characteristic and the status of their organization. Four case studies are presented to illustrate and clarify the procedures for returning to work. The last part is devoted to a theoretical discussion of our results and to a general conclusion with regard to the proposed analysis model
Benhaïm, Michèle. "L'ambivalence de la mère : étude psychanalytique sur la position maternelle". Paris 13, 1996. http://www.theses.fr/1996PA131024.
Maternal ambivalence is not an accident in the mother-child relationship but a structuring necessity, which, if lacking, causes a pathology that can evolve towards other pathologies. The purpose of clinical therapy is not to "eliminate" this ambivalence but to gain a certain recognition of it, to develop a certain "transmissible" understanding about it and to propose mechanisms of dealing with it that are structuring for both the mother and the child. Some "vital" hatred may necessarily be structuring for any maternal love so that the mother can continue to be subject to desire and that the child can progress in the subjectivation process. Clinical practice demonstrates that the lack of symbolic hatred has a more or less pathological impact on the evolution of maternal love, potentially caused by no separation, too great a separation or poor separation. Since such a separation is then based on denegation, rejection or the contrary, exacerbation of imaginary or destructive hatred, there may be effects of displacing aggressiveness into violence with outbursts in acts of murder. Clinical practice and theory bear each other out in demonstrating that as a symbolic operation the paternal function is the only one capable of tempering what begins as unrestrained maternal pleasure and transforming the mother's desire into "caprice"

Background and objectives: The occupational activity rate of women is steadily increasing since the 1970s, and women are more and more often in employment when they are in childbearing age. The main purpose of this work is to describe and understand the links between occupational activity and pregnancy. First, by comparing employment rates according to whether women are pregnant or belong to the female general population. In a second step, by observing how their occupational group and status is linked to the timing of prenatal leave. Finally, the third part analyzes the impact of the social position, defined by the employment status of women and taking into account their couple status and the employment of the partner, on the antenatal care and perinatal outcomes. Methods and population: The data were extracted from the French National Perinatal Surveys of 1972, 1981, 1995, 1998, 2003, 2010 and 2016 and the Census. A comparison of the employment rate of pregnant women and the general population of women in continental France, by age and level of education, was carried out. A modelization of the employment rate of women during pregnancy was realized according to the socio-demographic characteristics, the survey period from 1972 to 2016, and the birth generation. An analysis of women working during pregnancy in 2010 and 2016 was conducted to determine the time of prenatal leave, according to the medical situation and the social position of women, focused on early leave, before 24 weeks of gestation (WG), and late leave, after 36 WG. For the period 1995 to 2016, prenatal care and perinatal outcomes were analyzed according to the employment status of women, taking into account their couple situation and partner’s employment. Results: As in the general population, rate of occupational activity of pregnant women shown a steadily increasing, between 1972 and 2016, from 53% to 74%. In 2016, 32% of women working during pregnancy leave their job before 24 WG, and 2% after 37 WG. Social inequalities exists around maternity leave: women with the most unfavorable social situations stop early, while self-employed women and those with more favorable social and occupational situations leave late, even after stratification for the medical situation. From 1995 to 2016, the differences in antenatal care and perinatal outcomes according to the social position of pregnant women are always observed despite a reduction. Conclusion: The major changes in the relationship to women's occupational activity in recent decades may change the practices of caregivers for pregnant women. A majority of pregnant women had a paid job and the date of prenatal leave should be discussed in relation to the medical situation but also considering the social and occupational status. Special attention should be given to the most disadvantaged women, either unemployed or without a legal job, or having a precarious occupational situation, since these women have a later initiation of care and more unfavorable perinatal outcomes
Rodrigues, Coelho Bruno André. "Essays on female labour supply and fertility". Thesis, Strasbourg, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018STRAB012/document.
This thesis focuses on the labour supply and fertility decisions of women in France. In Chapter 2, I estimate a hierarchical model using French and German micro-data. The aim is to see how the French and German regions differ, once you control for individual variables. Chapter 3 examines the impact of first, second and third births on the labour supply and wages of women and men. The question here is to see to what extent these births have a negative impact, and perhaps even a positive one in the case of men. Chapter 4 examines how long a mother spends out of work after the birth of her first child, and how she decides to return to work. A competing risks model is used for this. Chapter 5 presents version control software. This type of software greatly simplifies scientific production
