Our research is embedded into the scope of studies on the linguistics of verbal exchanges in business. This research allows us to fully understand the functioning of verbal exchanges in business negotiations and particulary in terms of the use of various linguistic and strategic elements used by the participants in the four sessions of a Chinese and French corpus. The interaction analysis of the corpus allowed us to work in different dimensions : linguistic, business and cultural. The inter-cultural researches permitted us to show the differences in behavior between Chinese and French businessmen : the different ways of using strategic argumentation as well as the politeness. Bases on crossed studies of the verbal interactions and the business negotiation, some didactic conclusions are raised. These are incorporated into the course of the FLE in China, entitled : "business negotiations"

The post sale man constitutes an interface between a lot of complex systems (costumer, organizational) that have an influence on the construction of his trade and his identity. We postulate that this trade is in a continuous evolution, particularly in the services activities Indeed, the sale force activity depends on events and sale man's role in the information management. The sale force's position analysis proves that different actors (costumer, firm, sale force), participate in the construction of the service. This "making together" exercises an influence on the evolution of the sale man's function. It seems that it is not the recruiting process that determines function. It is rather the question of vigilance with regard to the trade evolution and men's abilities in order to grow their efficiency

The experimental origins of subliminal suggestion go back to 1917 with the work of freud and poetzl, even if leibniz, as early as the 18th century, was among the first to identify subliminal stimuli in their natural form, giving them the name of "minor perceptions". Yet, despite half a century of tests. Science is still unable either to confirm or refute conclusively the existence of such an impact. Our research hypothesis is as follows: we think that we are in a position to note a minimum clinical modification of 20% between decision-making behaviour of individuals not submitted to subliminal suggestion (i. E. The control group) and those of the two test groups exposed to subliminal stimuli. Statistically, the object of our experimenting is to use the test hypothesis of khi-square in order to arrive at a quantified verification of elements initially identified theoretically. According to our post-experiment results (i. E. Part two), there appears to be no doubt that the impact of subliminal suggestion on decision-making behaviour is substantial; in fact, we shall show that our research hypothesis was insufficiently ambitious, the optimal hypothesis settling down, according to our algorithm, at 30%. Finally, before envisaging further research perspectives, we propose an extension to the behavioural model of engel, kollat & blackwell which seems to us to help it better integrate with our variable (i. E. Part two). Our conclusions presuppose that our theoretical demonstration (i. E. Part one) is empirically verifiable: subliminal suggestion is a tangible communication tool in terms of orientation and modification of consumer motivation, one that business must accept as being at the heart of worldwide competition

Attitude and behavior change issues lie at the heart of much communication research. In recent years, in the context of commercial communication or communication for societal utility services, offline, researchers have been using the paradigm of binding communication often for scientific purposes, sometimes for the purposes of intervention. While these researches have led to a better understanding of the effects of binding communication on actual behavior and attitudes, little research has examined the reception and effect of binding communication in a digital environment. Using a mixed methodology (qualitative and experimental), with an essentially explanatory aim, our multidisciplinary research studies the effects of binding communication, associated with the theory of identification of action, as well as the psychosocial processes involved in reception and effects

The purpose of this research is to establish factors for commercial performance in the professional training sector, the case of the N.T.C. (Neo Trainer Consultant). Empirical observation: The author has trained job seekers (more than 450) for over 10 years. Through this experience providing lessons, a suspicion arose regarding the origin of the difficulties (N.T.C.) concerning the factors for commercial performance in professional training.Research work plan: The start point is a group of five randomly selected N.T.C. to confirm the suspicion. Then the state of the art bring the definitions, the development of concepts, and the literature review, research the works that already exist in the field in France and in English-speaking countries. The concepts of expertise and confidence are highlighted. The hypotheses are defined by the Delphi group (20 experts and 4 rounds of expressed opinions) and validated by the quantitative study (301 responses). Result: This method offers 2 factors of success: demonstration of the expertise and establishment of the confidence ascribed to the 4 principal parameters influencing 2 factors of success : comprehension of the client's problem (95%), involvement (91%), realisation of similar actions (86%) and demonstration of the methods employed (77%).Managerial recommendations enlightend by the group of experts who suggest to the N.T.C to develop their charisma and authoritativeness by mastering their grasp of rhetoric. If the work creates a conflict between this notion and talent, the N.T.C. will see factors for commercial performance transform his experience into expertise and his expertise into income

This research project belongs to the thematic of the analysis and diagnosis for the banking industry and follows the creation of meaning in banking practices, by targeting mainly the next three areas: information, bank document and communication. The object of the research consists in the banking practice (formal or non-formal) engaged either internally and externally. This project aims to mobilize tools, lessons and interdisciplinary perspectives offered by the information and communication science (ICS) and to converge also the achievements of research fields such as philosophy, languages, economy or sociology sciences. My observations, based on the participative research methodology, are structured for a double purpose. First, the research targets to join the previous efforts to emphasize the communication’s role, by focusing on the meaning’s creation. The second objective is to reveal the innovative information and communication practice that banks have implemented to meet customer’s needs and to adapt to the new economic pressures

The thesis presents an historical analysis of the birth and evolution of free radios in Italy and France between the beginning of ‘70s (seventies) and the end of ‘80s (eighties) of the 20th century. The comparative character of the study highlights the similarities and divergences of both the historical-social processes and the various political systems which determined the emergence and transformation of such from-the-ground means of communication, out of the central monopoly of the State as well as their insertion in the proper frame of national media. The study finds its place in the historical context of the two countries. The route of free radios shows how one passed from the original claim of ‘taking-the-word’, of off-centred communication, of realization of democratic media, to the affirmation in the Eighties of the model of commercial radio, influenced by the centrality of the television and the commercials. The evolution of free radios contributes to redefine the audio-visual landscape of the two countries, causing the end of the public monopoly of the radio and TV broadcast. Free radios, expressing the point-of-new of political, cultural and religious groups of local communities, represented a moment of opening and democratization of the media sector and of widening of spaces of the public sphere. Although these objectives in the Eighties, thanks also to a changed political, social and economic frame, were substituted by the affirmation of the music radios, communitary radios, which favored non-profit forms of communication of proximity, constituted the direct heir of free radios. Despite they occupied a reduced space in the media system of the two countries, they proved the social importance of alternative and local means of communication, with respect to the radiophonic contents and the organization, partially anticipating certain features of interactivity which will be recovered years later with the rise of the web-radios

This research contributes to several fields of knowledge. It studies the ambiguous effects that the Internet has on the transaction costs structure in the case of retailing. Next, it presents an empirical study of the determinants of worldwide Internet and cellular phone penetration levels since 1980. It is shown that cross-country differences in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) are to a considerable extent due to differences in investment climate, which determines the incentives to adopt technologies based on site-specific assets. Finally, this thesis develops and tests a theory regarding the effect that electoral formats and government configurations have on the degree of property rights protection. A formal model is presented, which establishes a negative relationship between the number of institutions of consensual collective decision-making and the degree of property rights protection.

This research evaluates the IEEE 802.16 standards and technologies that are currently being developed in the commercial sector. The robust capability of this standard lends itself potentially to numerous military applications. This research explores how this technology might address the shortcomings of existing military radio and data systems; specifically, with respect to the issues surrounding the Ship to Objective Maneuver (STOM) communications. The intent of this research is to provide recommendations on the necessary 'adapt from COTS' changes for this technology to address STOM networking requirements. This research includes discussions on the military requirements for an IEEE 802.16 adapted waveform. The requirements are for the IEEE 802.16 'adapt from COTS' are derived from researched on the Concept of Employment for STOM operations and the specification of the Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW). These discussions offer an illustration of the complex networking demands the COTS adapted systems would need to address. Through detailed exploration of the current IEEE 802.16 standards and implementation testing with pre-standard IEEE 802.16a equipment, we were able to make recommendations on the COTS adaptations necessary to make IEEE 802.16 suitable as a complimentary technology within the STOM scenario.

This thesis will research the availability and applicability of using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) cellular software, running on a smartphone hardware platform to address communication requirements as identified in a 1st Marine Division, Universal Needs Statement (UNS). Having only conducted introductory research in to this topic, preliminary results have shown that the majority of the research conducted in the past have centered on either COTS cellular software specific to an application, or on the utility of tactical communication devices as they are currently being employed. The intent of this research is to discover if a bridge is possible and available for cellular COTS software running on a COTS smartphone device to be leveraged, thus satisfying communication requirements of small-unit leaders in a tactical environment. Our hypothesis is that COTS technology can provide a number of viable options to address tactical communication shortfalls based on the fact that the communication shortfalls identified, are capabilities that the commercial industry currently exercise on a daily basis, (e.g., text, chat, voice, position location information, imagery and map viewing, streaming video, web browsing and e-mail). All of these identified communication capabilities are available in military command and control systems however, they reside primarily at the higher headquarter levels, requiring large communication assets to establish those services. Furthermore, due to technology shortfalls and asset limitations, only a few of these capabilities are currently being extended down to the small unit level. Many small-unit leaders are experiencing that these limitations in communication capabilities are needlessly placing risks on their mission and their personnel. With COTS smartphone technology and the advancements made in the commercial cellular industry, this research intends to advance the study towards discovery of a viable COTS solution that can satisfy tactical communication requirements for the small-unit leader.

This paper investigates the feasibility of using commercial satellite constellations to relay telemetry data from flight test vehicles as part of a Global Test Range. The use of a commercial satellite constellation would provide an augmented capability to the test range, providing near real-time data to the data reduction site and test range control at reasonable cost. This includes an analysis of current and proposed commercial communication satellite constellations to determine if any of them would fulfill the needs of a telemetry test range. Preliminary assessment of the communication link between a flight vehicle and the satellite constellations is performed.

Today's complex implementations of integrated packet and circuit switched digital communications networks demand that the software used for controlling these systems be robust, fault tolerant, and capable of runtime recovery from all but the most severe of operational errors. The typical modern switched communications system includes the use of multiple circuit switches, each with potentially thousands of end-user interfaces. Further, these switches are often inter-connected to each other via high-capacity trunks. A single connection between two end-user interfaces often traverses a number of intermediate circuit switches in order to effect the end-to-end communications desired. In this complex, distributed environment, the establishment and dissolution of end-to-end user connections involve far more than simple binary connection states indicating the existence, or non-existence, of a link. More commonly, a single end-to-end connection requires multiple node links across multiple, heterogeneous interfaces. The command and control software used to establish, monitor, and dissolve these connections must be capable of dealing with errors which arise at any node along the way in a consistent and reliable manner. Most critically, the system software must be capable of maintaining an accurate, multi-level mapping of distributed resources' availability, allocation, and status. Further, the software must have the capability of "healing itself" during operational run-time when it can, and of accurately reporting the nature of inconsistencies caused by anomalous events that cannot be fixed on the fly. The Edwards Digital Switch (EDS), developed by CSTI, provides a case study of possible solutions, and potential pitfalls, that can arise in the design, development, and implementation of the controlling software in today's dynamic, distributed communications' system architectures.

The world of data communication and networking has grown rapidly over the last decade, and this growth has been accompanied by the development of standards that reflect and facilitate the need for commercial products that work together in a reliable, robust, and coherent fashion. To a great extent this commercialization, with its increasing performance and diminishing cost, has not been adapted to the data communication needs of satellites. As budgets and mission development and deployment timelines shrink, space exploration and science will require the development of standards and the use of increasing amounts of off-the-shelf hardware and software for integrated satellite ground systems. The Renaissance project at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center has engaged in rapid prototyping of ground systems using off-the-shelf hardware and software products to identify ways of implementing satellite ground systems "faster, better, cheaper". This paper presents various aspects of these activities, including issues related to the configuration and integration of current off-the-shelf products using telemetry databases for existing spacecraft, an analysis of issues related to the development of standard products for satellite communication, tradeoffs between hardware and software approaches to performing telemetry front-end processing functions, and proposals for future standards and development.
Sköld, Robin, e Magnus Nilsson. "Cell Phone Carriers, TV-Commercials & Branding : A study of cell phone carriers TV- commercials, branding and its affect on young people". Thesis, Jönköping University, JIBS, EMM (Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Management), 2009. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:hj:diva-9348.
Problem: As almost everyone has a cell phone today, keeping your customers is very important. An important group for cell phone carriers is young people. This is a group that uses cell phones more and more. However, attracting these people could be hard. One of the most common strategies to attract customers today is promotion through TV-commercials. Another strategy that has gained popularity is branding. We therefore asked ourselves how these strategies could affect each other and eventually young peoples’ choice of cell phone carrier.
Purpose: Our purpose is to investigate how branding and communication strategies are best used in cell phone carriers TV- commercials, and how they affect young peoples’ consumer behavioral processes.
Method: To solve the purpose of this thesis we have used an inductive approach. We have gathered both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data have been collected from a questionnaire filled out by students from Jönköpings University and qualitative data from a focus group we have held. The results were analyzed with help from theories about communication strategies and branding.
Conclusion: Branding has a strong influence on young peoples’ view on cell phone carriers TV- commercials. However cell phone carriers TV- commercials have no direct effect on young peoples’ choice of cell phone carrier. It just has an indirect effect since; TV- commercial can be considered a source of information or a way of forming attitudes.
