El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar posibles diferencias en satisfacción con la vida, ánimo depresivo, autoconcepto y comunicación familiar entre adolescentes no implicados en violencia de pareja, agresores, víctimas, implicados en el rol de agresor-víctima de forma ocasional e implicados en este rol frecuentemente. Participaron 672 adolescentes españoles (325 chicas, 347 chicos), entre 12 y 19 años (M = 14.45; DT = 1.62). Los resultados muestran un perfil psicosocial más negativo en las chicas víctimas de violencia de pareja y en los chicos implicados frecuentemente en el rol de agresor-víctima. En las chicas con mayor implicación en violencia de pareja se observan también mayores dificultades en la comunicación familiar. Estos resultados muestran la existencia de perfiles psicosociales diferentes en chicos y chicas, que desempeñan diferentes roles en violencia de pareja, y la utilidad de considerar estos perfiles en el desarrollo de programas de intervención.

Las redes sociales se han convertido en un contexto de gran influencia en la socialización, el aprendizaje y la formación de la personalidad de infantes y adolescentes. El presente trabajo parte de dos objetivos. Por un lado, conocer la prevalencia de uso de redes sociales en una muestra de preadolescentes españoles, analizando qué redes sociales usan más y posibles diferencias en función del género. Por otro lado, conocer a quién siguen y qué tipo de contenidos ven en las redes sociales, analizando también posibles diferencias entre ellos y ellas. Para ello, se aplicó un cuestionario de autoinforme sobre uso de redes sociales a 548 estudiantes (49.7% chicas) de 6º de Educación Primaria (10-13 años). Los resultados obtenidos muestran un uso generalizado de las redes sociales en estas edades. Principalmente se usan aplicaciones que permiten compartir y ver vídeos, así como aplicaciones de mensajería instantánea. El patrón de uso muestra resultados congruentes con los roles de género tradicionales. Los chicos siguen más que las chicas publicaciones sobre deporte o videojuegos. Las chicas siguen más que los chicos publicaciones sobre música, moda, salud/belleza, política, arte y famosos. Las chicas siguen a través de redes sociales a familiares, en mayor medida que los chicos. Se discuten las principales implicaciones educativas de estos resultados.

Este artículo describe los resultados y las conclusiones de una investigación sobre el valor de la lectura en los niños, el hábito lector y su estilo de vida en el tiempo de ocio. La muestra de estudio está formada por 1.669 estudiantes de educación Primaria (847 chicos y 822 chicas). Los instrumentos empleados incluyen cuestionarios específicos de lectura y psicológicos. Los resultados muestran que el valor de la lectura varía en función del comportamiento lector y de los hábitos de lectura. Las chicas informan de niveles más altos de lectura que los chicos. En ambos casos, en chicos y chicas, sus hábitos lectores se correlacionan con los hábitos lectores de los padres. Los resultados son discutidos en relación con la relevancia que tiene el contexto escolar y los maestros en la educación lectora.

Se estudió la imagen corporal y las diferencias en la misma según actividad física e IMC, en 2942 adolescentes lituanos (1405 chicos y 1537 chicas), de 11 a 19 años. La imagen corporal se midió mediante el cuestionario HBSC, la actividad física mediante el cuestionario PACE y el IMC con la fórmula peso/altura2, clasificando a la población en Sobrepeso/Obesidad según el IOTF. Las chicas se veían más gordas que los chicos (t2935.50= 11.37; p=0.000; d=0.420). Los sujetos que realizaban menos actividad física (t2012.21= 2.57; p=0.010; d=0.115) y aquellos con sobrepeso/obesidad (t392.04= 14.86; p=0.000; d=1.501) tuvieron peor imagen corporal. Se recomienda implementar programas de actividad física y programas psicológicos para mejorar la imagen corporal y la composición corporal de los adolescentes lituanos, prestando especial atención a las chicas, a aquellos que realizan menos actividad física y a aquellos con sobrepeso/obesidad.

Se evalúan las orientaciones de meta en Educación Física de estudiantes mexicanos, así como las diferencias según sexo, edad, implicación en actividad físico-deportiva y nivel de práctica habitual. Se administró un cuestionario por autorreporte a 1.083 estudiantes mexicanos regiomontanos de secundaria (12-16 años; error ± 3 %, IC = 95.5 %), por muestreo polietápico estratificado por afijación proporcional y conglomerados. El análisis factorial confirmatorio apoyó el modelo teórico hipotetizado de dos factores para TEOSQ-12EF, mostrando excelente bondad de ajuste del modelo original. Tanto chicos como chicas tienen, principalmente, una orientación a la tarea, estando los chicos más orientados al ego que las chicas. Según aumenta el nivel de actividad física, incrementa la orientación al ego y a la tarea.

Se ha realizado un estudio de detección de trastornos alimentarios en adolescentes, estudiando su posible relación con los hábitos alimentarios en los colegios. Han participado 3145 alumnos/as (49.7% chicas y 50.3% chicos) de 16 colegios de secundaria, con edades entre 13 y 17 años (media de 14.4 años). Los datos se recopilaron entre 2013 a 2017. Se han registrado distintas variables sociodemográficas, el IMC y los cuestionarios EAT-40 y BSQ. También se registró el tipo de ingesta en el desayuno y en el recreo de todos los alumnos/as el día de la evaluación. En los resultados aparecen diferencias significativas en el EAT-40 y BSQ, donde siempre hay mayor proporción de chicas que superan el punto de corte. Respecto al IMC, un 17.7% tiene peso insuficiente, un 20.3% con sobrepeso y un 7.0% con obesidad, y también con diferencias entre chicos y chicas, pues estas presentan un IMC mayor. A partir de todos los datos, podría considerarse que hay un porcentaje de 5.6% de participantes con posibles trastornos de conducta alimentaria, en mayor proporción en mujeres (9.6%) que en hombres (1.8%), porcentajes que han ido descendiendo a lo largo de los años. No hay correlación con los hábitos alimentarios, pero hay mayor proporción de chicas que toman menos comidas y bebidas durante el desayuno y el recreo. Un dato alarmante es que un 5.6% de las chicas y un 2.5% de los chicos no desayunan absolutamente nada durante toda la mañana escolar.

La violencia filio-parental (VFP) ha suscitado un enorme interés académico. Pese a ello, pocos estudios comparan los factores de riesgo de chicos y chicas implicados en estas agresiones a sus progenitores. El presente trabajo compara 56 chicos y 35 chicas agresores evaluados con la Guía para la Valoración del Riesgo de Violencia Filio-Parental (RVFP). Las chicas provenían de forma significativa de contextos más problemáticos (con bidireccionalidad de la violencia, violencia entre los progenitores, problemas de convivencia y problemas en los progenitores) y tenían significativamente menos autoestima. Los chicos presentaron significativamente más historial de problemas de abusos de sustancias y mayor escalada en la violencia. En conjunto, ambos sexos presentaban prevalencias similares en la mayoría de las variables, su violencia era comparable (aunque las lesiones a los padres fueron exclusivas de los chicos) y las familias eran más problemáticas en ellas. La predicción de las lesiones a la madre con la puntuación del RVFP fue significativa en el caso de los varones (AUC = ,842) pero no en el caso de ellas (AUC = ,660). Los resultados justifican el uso de tratamientos y herramientas comunes en chicos y chicas implicados en VFP, aunque se discuten desarrollos aún necesarios en la materia. Child-to-parent violence (CPV) has attracted enormous academic interest. Despite this, few studies compare the risk factors between female and male perpetrators of this abuse toward parents. This paper compares 56 male and 35 female CPV offenders, evaluated with the Child-to-Parent Violence Risk assessment tool (CPVR). Results show that girls came from significantly more problematic contexts (with bidirectionality of violence, violence between parents, cohabitation problems and personal problems of parents, and had significantly lower self-esteem. Boys had significantly more histories of substance abuse issues and greater rates of escalation of violence. Overall, both sexes had similar prevalence rates for most variables, the type of violence committed was comparable (although injuries toward fathers were only perpetrated by boys), and female perpetrators had more problematic families than their male counterparts. CPVR scores significantly predicted injuries toward the mother for male offenders (AUC = .842), but not for female offenders (AUC = .660). These results support the use of common treatments and tools for female and male CPV offenders. Future steps and developments in the field are also discussed.

La participación en conductas antisociales en la adolescencia es un tema controvertido que causa preocupación social y tiene implicaciones en los propios adolescentes. Este artículo trabaja con los datos del estudio Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) de 2014 y tiene como objetivos conocer la prevalencia de conducta antisocial de baja gravedad en adolescentes entre 11 y 16 años, y estudiar la relación entre la conducta antisocial y la salud global percibida. La muestra fue de 9775 adolescentes escolarizados en España (50,95% chicas). Los chicos y chicas presentaron prevalencias de conducta antisocial similares en todas las categorías, excepto en la categoría “destrozo”, más prevalente en chicos. Sin embargo, se encontraron discrepancias en la prevalencia de la participación en conducta antisocial en función de la edad, con una mayor prevalencia en los grupos de mayor edad. Se encontró que cometer actos antisociales de baja gravedad se relaciona con una peor puntuación en salud en todas las edades independientemente del sexo, justificando la necesidad de realizar intervenciones preventivas y atajar las circunstancias que promueven la conducta antisocial.

Cet article prend en considération la contribution de l’environnement non humain au bien-être psychologique dans le cadre des dynamiques relationnelles. Nous vivons en contact avec la nature et adoptons à son égard une attitude ambivalente : nous sommes pris par le désir de connexion et d’union totale, mais aussi par la crainte de perdre notre statut humain. Nous pouvons nous sentir faire partie de la nature et en même temps nous illusionner en pensant que nous en sommes séparés par des caractéristiques humaines spécifiques ; ceci nous conduit à rechercher un équilibre entre deux pôles – fusion et séparation – difficile à intégrer. En abordant ce sujet qui traverse le cycle de vie, nous nous référons à la relation avec les chiens et à leur présence au sein de la famille humaine et nous illustrerons notre propos à l’aide de cas cliniques.

El desarrollo de variables como la creatividad o las habilidades sociales puede favorecer el incremento de las conductas prosociales en el alumnado adolescente. Este tipo de competencias pueden verse alteradas según el sexo de los jóvenes. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es examinar si existen diferencias significativas en creatividad, habilidades sociales y conductas prosociales entre los chicos y chicas adolescentes. Un total de 743 estudiantes de entre 14 y 19 años pertenecientes a distintos centros educativos han participado en este estudio. Los instrumentos utilizados han sido el Cuestionario de Creatividad de Turtle (CCT), el Cuestionario de Habilidades Sociales (CHASO) y el Cuestionario de Conducta Prosocial (CCP). Los resultados obtenidos indican que no existen diferencias relacionadas con la creatividad entre ambos grupos de adolescentes, pero sí se encuentran dichas diferencias en las variables de habilidades sociales y conductas prosociales. Las chicas adolescentes puntúan más alto en las dimensiones referidas a las habilidades sociales de expresar sentimientos positivos, afrontar las críticas y pedir disculpas, mientras que los chicos tienen mayor nivel en habilidades sociales total y sus dimensiones de interactuar con las personas que me atraen, mantener la calma ante las críticas, hablar en público / interactuar con superiores y afrontar situaciones de hacer el ridículo. En cuanto a las conductas prosociales, las chicas destacan en empatía y respeto, mientras que los chicos se encuentran más implicados en las relaciones sociales. En definitiva, esta investigación muestra las diferencias según el sexo en variables que ayudan a los adolescentes a desarrollarse de manera positiva.

La thèse a pour but de documenter les répercussions de l'utilisation du chien-guide pour les personnes fonctionnellement non-voyantes (PFNV) dans les 3 sphères du modèle conceptuel de processus de production du handicap (CQCIDIH, 1995), à savoir les facteurs personnels, facteurs environnementaux et habitudes de vie . Comparés aux utilisateurs de canne blanche, les utilisateurs de chiens-guides reçoivent significativement plus d'approches aimables de la part d'étrangers, ce qui suggère un apport positif sur les facteurs environnementaux. Au cours de l'année qui suit l'obtention d'un premier chien-guide, les PFNV voient leur participation sociale augmentée de façon significative et leur niveau de bien-être psychologique amélioré de façon non significative, suggérant ainsi une contribution positive du chien-guide au plan des habitudes de vie, mais pas au niveau des facteurs personnels. Ces résultats sont discutés en lien avec la documentation relative aux bénéfices pouvant être tirés des relations avec les animaux, ainsi qu'à la question du bien-être et de l'intégration sociale des PFNV.

This study examines how an ethnic minority group copes under conditions of adversity. It follows in the tradition of a wide body of qualitative work that has investigated racial minorities and their everyday experiences. Much of the existing work, however, focuses on merely describing thematically and/or conceptually what goes on. The current study aims to construct an integrated conceptual understanding of how a minority group engages in the coping process. More specifically, this study seeks to develop a substantive theory that can explain and predict human behaviour. Grounded theory methodology was used in aid of the theory development process (see Glaser and Strauss, 1967). Lorsqu’ils s’adressent à leur chien beaucoup de propriétaires ont une modalité vocale particulière : le discours adressé à l’animal de compagnie. Ce registre de communication ressemble beaucoup à celui utilisé par les parents lorsqu’ils s’adressent à leurs nourrissons. Ce qui suggère des soubassements communs. Ces deux registres partagent des caractéristiques qui les distinguent du discours adressé à l’adulte, comme une fréquence fondamentale plus élevée et une modulation plus importante. Une série d’expériences réalisées à l’Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort, nous a permis d’étudier comment le discours adressé à l’animal de compagnie intervient dans l’interaction homme-chien. Le premier chapitre montre que les caractéristiques acoustiques et verbales du discours adressé à l’animal de compagnie varient en fonction du contexte de l’interaction. Le deuxième chapitre s’intéresse à la manière dont le chien traite l’information vocale humaine, nos résultats suggèrent de manière générale un biais en faveur de l’hémisphère droit. Le troisième chapitre indique que le discours adressé à l’animal de compagnie augmente significativement l’attention du chien. Ce phénomène n’est pas perçu par les observateurs humains comme le montre le quatrième chapitre. A travers l’ensemble de ces études, essentiellement centrées sur le discours adressé à l’animal de compagnie, nous mettons en lumière la complexité de la communication homme-chien
When addressing their dogs, owners often use a special speech register called pet-directed-speech. This communication modality is very similar to infant-directed-speech used by parents when speaking to young children, which suggests common bases. These two types of speech share characteristics that differ from those of adult-directed-speech, such as a higher fundamental frequency and greater modulations. A series of experiments carried out at the National Veterinary School of Alfort allowed us to explore how pet-directed-speech occurs in the human-dog interaction. The first chapter shows that acoustic and verbal features of pet-directed-speech vary according to the interaction context. The second chapter aims to highlight how dogs process human vocal information; overall, our results reveal a right hemispheric advantage. The third chapter indicates that pet-directed-speech increases significantly dogs’ attentional state. This phenomenon is not perceived by human observers, as it is shown in chapter four. Together, these studies which mainly focused on pet-directed-speech bring to light the complexity of the human-dog communication

Early perceptual learning capacity has been shown to correspond with the relative status of emergent sensory systems throughout prenatal and postnatal development. It has also been shown that young infants can learn perceptual information during perinatal development. However, the exact nature of the relationship between prenatal and postnatal perceptual development and the role of early experience on learning ability have yet to be examined. The present study examined how auditory learning capacity in bobwhite quail chicks is affected by the interrelationship between the developing auditory and visual systems in late prenatal/early postnatal development. Chicks were provided with auditory information during the period immediately prior to or the period following hatching. In addition, visual experience was either provided or attenuated during both the prenatal and postnatal periods. Findings revealed that chicks postnatally exposed to 10 min/hr of maternal auditory stimulation in lighted conditions required 72 hr exposure to the call in order to learn that bobwhite maternal call (Experiments 1A and 1B). Control chicks who experienced the prenatal egg-opening procedure demonstrated no naive preference for two individual variants of the bobwhite maternal assembly call (Experiment 2). However, embryos who received 10 min/hr of prenatal visual stimulation, or who were reared in prenatal darkness successfully learned a maternal call with only 24 hr of postnatal exposure (Experiments 3A and 3C). Embryos who received prenatal visual and postnatal darkened rearing conditions (a mismatch between prenatal and postnatal experience) showed deficits in postnatal auditory learning (Experiment 3B). Embryos who were exposed to 10 min/hr of prenatal maternal auditory stimulation and 10 min/hr of nonconcurrent visual stimulation remembered the maternal call into later ages of postnatal development than in previous studies when reared in lighted or darkened postnatal conditions (Experiments 4A and 4B). However, when all prenatal and postnatal visual experience were both removed from embryos' and chicks' environments, deficits in prenatal auditory learning and postnatal memory were observed (Experiment 4C). These results indicate that prenatal and postnatal learning in bobwhite quail occur differently, that mismatches in prenatal and postnatal experience interfere with postnatal auditory learning, and that prenatal learning and postnatal memory are affected by the amount of visual stimulation present within chicks' environmental milieu. Les personnes SDF et leurs chiens restent à la marge de la majorité des dispositifs sociaux et sont l’objet d’un contre-transfert social généralement négatif. L’objectif de ce travail est de comprendre pourquoi certaines personnes ont des chiens dans la rue. En s’appuyant sur un référentiel psychanalytique, cette recherche se fonde sur les discours d’acteurs rencontrés sur le terrain et sur des entretiens semi-directifs réalisés auprès de neuf SDF possédant au moins un chien, rencontrés au sein d’un CAARUD et d’un CHRS. Les entretiens ont été traités à l’aide de l’analyse de contenu (Bardin, 1977 ; Castarède, 1983) et d’une analyse clinique de cas (Castro, 2005 ; Pedinielli, 2005). Les résultats soulèvent un paradoxe. D’une part, le chien apparaît notamment comme un support d’étayage aux besoins du moi (Roussillon, 2008a); comme un objet de relation (Gimenez, 2002) et la relation à l’animal comme une voie d’accès à l’aire transitionnelle (Winnicott, 1971b) où œuvrent les processus d’identification projective normale et d’identification introjective (Bion, 1962, 1967). D’autre part, cette relation peut incarner une défense psychique contre une souffrance psychosociale et une stratégie de survie conduisant, paradoxalement, ces personnes à se suradapter à leurs conditions de vie délétères sans pouvoir le penser. Seules une véritable préoccupation sociétale et des prises en charges adaptées pourront soutenir le chien comme un moyen par lequel le sujet peut négocier sa souffrance psychique, son identité et développer sa subjectivité. Comprendre cette relation implique par ailleurs une approche en santé mentale, soucieuse des ressources du sujet et de son environnement
Homeless people and their dogs remain on the fringe of most social structures and are subject to a generally negative social counter-transference. This study aims at a better understanding of why some people living on the street have a dog. Within a psychoanalytical frame of reference, this research is based on speeches of actors encountered on the field and includes semi-directive interviews conducted on nine homeless people possessing at least one dog encountered in a CAARUD and a CHRS. A content analysis (Bardin, 1977; Castarède, 1983; Pedinielli, 2009) was conducted on all these interviews. The nine dog owners were each object of a clinical case study (Castro, 2005; Pedinielli, 2005; Schauder, 2012; Thurin, 2012). The results showed a paradox. On the one hand, the dog appeared as a way of supporting the needs of the ego (Roussillon, 2008a) and as an object of relation (Gimenez, 2002). Similarly the relationship with the animal appeared as a means of gaining access to the transitional area (Winnicott, 1971b) where processes of normal projective identification and introjective identification develop (Bion, 1962, 1967). On the other hand, this relationship may embody a psychic defense against psychosocial suffering and a survival strategy paradoxically leading these people to unconsciously over-adapt to their nefarious living conditions. Only real societal concern and appropriate care can support the dog as a way for the subject to become a real subject and for him a way to soothe the psychical pain and shore up his identity. Understanding this relationship also implies using a mental health approach, taking into account the resources of the subject and his environment

La definition du cahier des charges des protheses articulaires necessite une connaissance approfondie de la biomecanique de l'articulation consideree tant en ce qui concerne ses mouvements, leurs directions, leurs amplitudes, qu'en ce qui concerne les forces qui s'y exercent, leurs directions, leurs intensites. Les biomateriaux mis en uvre, choisis en fonction de leur biocompatibilite, devront permettre les deplacements articulaires et devront resister, avec le temps, aux forces auxquelles ils sont soumis ainsi qu'aux moments induits par les forces et les deplacements. Ce memoire traite ces deux aspects du cahier des charges des protheses articulaires. Celles-ci concernent aussi bien l'homme que l'animal. L'arthroplastie totale de hanche, en l'occurrence, est, depuis plusieurs decennies, pratiquee relativement frequemment chez le chien. La partie relative a la biomecanique articulaire presente une etude realisee sur le membre pelvien du chien de race berger allemand a l'aide de systemes d'analyse du mouvement et d'une plate-forme dynamometrique. Apres demonstration de la faisabilite, un protocole d'analyse a la fois cinematique et cinetique a ete mis au point et sa validation a ete amorcee a partir d'essais menes chez sept chiens sains et un chien dysplasique. Il s'agit la d'une etude preliminaire dont la poursuite permettra de connaitre les conditions de fonctionnement physiologique et dynamique des articulations du membre pelvien. L'amelioration des biomateriaux par implantation ionique en azote interesse la surface forttante des protheses. La seconde partie de ce memoire concerne l'alliage ti-6al-4v implante en ions azote et son frottement contre le polyethylene a haute densite. L'implantation ionique en azote de l'alliage ti-6al-4v ameliore sa resistance a l'usure et ses qualites tribologiques dans le couple de frottement considere. Cette implantation ionique doit etre parfaitement maitrisee. Si tel est le cas pour des surfaces planes, il n'en va pas de meme pour des geometries spheriques comme les tetes femorales de protheses de hanche. Aussi les conditions d'implantation de telles tetes en ti-6al-4v ont-elles ete etudiees afin d'obtenir une repartition des ions azote la plus homogene possible. Les surfaces et sous-surfaces implantees ont ete analysees, essentiellement par xps (xray photoelectron spectroscopy), de maniere a connaitre leur composition et a apprehender leurs qualites tribologiques. Dans ce memoire, l'aspect biomecanique relatif au fonctionnement de l'articulation et celui des biomateriaux focalise sur l'amelioration des surfaces frottantes ont ete analyses dans une meme etude pluridisciplinaire, mettant en evidence les specificites des problemes relatifs aux implants articulaires

In geopolitics, the concepts of geography and territory are reduced to the fundamental aspects of relations between States, they serve as a basic method of interpreting the past, they act as the main factors of human existence, organizing all other aspects of existence around them. It is in this perspective that the article examines the attitude to Baikal in the history of the mutually linked foreign policy of Russia and China. It is noted that the Mongols and Manchus, who once conquered China, not only found themselves largely assimilated by the defeated society, but over time, a large part of their ancestral territories began to be perceived as native Chinese. Far from being justified, this also applied to Baikal, although the Yakut etymology of its name, associated with the ethnic ancestors of the Yakuts — the Huns, has been clearly traced since ancient times. Since ancient times, Buryats and Evenks who voluntarily became part of Russia have lived around Baikal. Modern development is characterized by the “penetration” of the Chinese into the business of Asian Russia. In the Baikal region, this focus has basically three goals: forest, clean water, and ownership of land and other natural resources. In a special row, it is necessary to put projects for supplying the population of some Chinese territories with Baikal water, which is planned to be transported both in bottled form and in the future through pipes.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of politeness on verbal aggression in the different cultural contexts of Japan and China. Questionnaire research was administered to 195 Japanese university students and 255 Chinese university students. In the questionnaire, students were asked to recall an incident within a week or two in which they got angry. They were also asked to indicate (1) the intensity of their anger, (2) the hostility of the other party, (3) the degree of emotional regulation, (4) the action taken, (5) rational behavioral tendency, (6) social distance between self and the other party, (7) relative power of the other party, and (8) ranking of imposition. Participants' behavior in (4) was categorized into verbal aggression and other. Logistic regression analysis was conducted on the data from both countries, with verbal aggression and other categorized from (4) as the objective variables and the remaining variables from (1) through (8), excluding (4), as explanatory variables. The results showed that proximity to the other party increased verbal aggression for both Japanese and Chinese participants. Emotional variables – anger and emotion regulation-affected verbal aggression only among Chinese students.

Research on bicultural couples has mainly been conducted in the USA and is primarily focused on interracial couples. The main challenge for biracial couples according literature on the subject is dealing with racism (Batson et al., 2006; Bischoff, 2005; Bratter & King, 2008; Firmin & Firebaugh, 2008; Hibbler & Shinew, 2002; Jacobson & Heaton, 2008; Kalmijn & van Tubergen, 2006; Killian, 2003; Thompson & Collier, 2006; Yancey, 2007). Few studies address cultural differences (Rodríguez García, 2006), including dating/cohabiting bicultural couples (Firmin & Firebaugh, 2008; Yancey, 2007). In China, the bicultural couple rate is increasing along with the immigrant flow. Unfortunately the divorce rate among the bicultural couples is similarly rising (De- Hart & Zhang, 2010; Li, 2004). Although the non-Chinese members of the bicultural relationship in China can come from various nations, very few empirical studies have been conducted in English on this group. Results from the literature suggest that individuals entering bicultural relationships are often motivated by factors such as physical or sexual attraction (Blakely, 1999), curiosity (Morgan, 2007), or to complement or avoid negative same-culture traits (Constable, 2003; Morgan). For the Chinese partner, in addition, avoiding a controlling Chinese mother in-law has been listed as a motivation factor (Lim, 2011). Furthermore, a common Western assumption is that Asians mainly show an interest in forming romantic bicultural relationships in order to acquire a foreign passport and financial benefits, whereas there is a Western notion of Western males forming relationships with Asian women in order to find submissive females (Constable). Pan (2000), however discovered a new trend whereby, as a result of China’s economic growth, Chinese males are growing in popularity and are now regarded as financially resourceful. Same-culture couples have in previous studies been found to have the greatest satisfaction level (Fu, Tora & Kendall, 2001). Complications addressed as some of the main reasons to avoid bicultural relationships are associated with cultural differences (Morgan, 2007) and language barriers (Constable, 2003; Morgan, 2008). Additional factors impacting the bicultural couples include: culturally defined variances in gender roles (Kalmijn & van Tubergen, 2007; Morgan, 2008, Qian, 1997; Rodríguez García, 2006), geographical location (South and town area) (Johnson & Jacobson, 2005; Killian, 2003),

The present research focused on investigating the effectiveness of two treatments to enhance academic self-concept among low-achieving junior middle school students, who continue their learning in the secondary vocational education (SVE) system of China. The results demonstrated that the intervention delivered in natural classroom settings significantly enhanced English self-concept, the targeted facet of the academic self-concept. Moreover, the intervention did not change Chinese and Mathematics self-concepts (two control facets of academic self-concept) significantly, lending support to the multidimensional conceptualization of self-concept. It should be noted that the improvement in English achievement among the two experimental classes was statistically significant as well, providing more empirical evidence for the effectiveness of feedback intervention. Future use of the two treatments to enhance academic self-concepts in natural classroom settings is discussed.

1 BackgroundBased on the current structural shortage of labor force and serious shortage of caregivers in China's elderly and medical services [1], the future demand for elderly care services for the elderly population is also increasingly strong [2]. At present, the proportion of Chinese elderly people living in elderly care institutions is 0.73%, which reflects that there are still some obstacles to the general acceptance of elderly care institutions by Chinese elderly people. Combined with the theory of environmental psychology, it can be seen that the environment can have an impact on behavior, psychology and other aspects, so the scientific shaping of space is inextricably linked to the enhancement of the user's spatial acceptance. Based on this, this study discusses the development history, development status and future development trend of nursing home design in China, and explores the innovative development path of nursing home design in the future. It aims to improve the acceptance and willingness to use nursing homes by the elderly and their families through optimization at the design level, so as to alleviate the current aging problem in China and the world.2 MethodDesign form language, is a kind of abstract language that can cover the design concept, design strategy, is a logical combination of structure, color, material and other figurative language in design. The change of design form language is often closely related to the change of user needs, the development of the industry now, etc. Citespace can present the structure of knowledge, the situation of information in the form of graphical distribution [3], and combined with the resulting graphs to analyze the disciplinary structure of the field of study related to the discipline structure, the hot frontier and other laws [4]. In view of the fact that the keyword maps that can be directly generated by importing literature data in Citespace cannot accurately represent the design form language explored in this study, this study organizes the design form language of each piece of literature in the valid title data for the titles, keywords, and abstracts of the 253 pieces of literature in the CNKI database, respectively.3 ResultThis study combines the data processing results of the design form language to produce three results related to the development of nursing home design in China. First, the development history of nursing home design in China is divided into three stages: the "starting period", the "high speed development period" and the "innovation enlightenment period", and there is still much room for development. Secondly, from the current development status of Chinese nursing home design, the concentration of current research is high, which also proves that the innovation of Chinese nursing home design is low at this stage. In addition, the research hotspots are mainly "people-oriented" and "integration of medical and nursing care", which reflects the current Chinese nursing home design's emphasis on the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly, and conforms to the current Chinese government's guidelines for nursing homes. Thirdly, "multi-dimensional consideration of user needs", "optimization of nursing home living mode through spatial design", and "exploration of cutting-edge fields" are proposed, The four suggestions on the direction of future development of nursing home design in China are "multi-dimensional consideration of users' needs", "optimization of living mode through spatial design", "exploration of frontier fields", and "in-depth combination of theory and practice".4 ConclusionThis study applies Citespace to analyze the literature about design form language visualization mapping in the field of Chinese nursing home design in the past 15 years, and according to the changing law of design form language, we have launched a study on the development history, development status, and future development trend of China's nursing home design, and obtained four directions of the future of China's nursing home design that are worth developing and studying in depth, which provides a directional guideline for the research of China's nursing home design.References[1] Zuo Meiyun. Researchers have long studied parenting practices, and have recently paid increasing attention to cross-cultural differences. Unfortunately, most of the research has only examined self-report data; studies including both self-report and observational data are still very rare. This study examined the disciplinary methods of mothers (of 5- to 7-year-old children) in a cross-cultural sample (<em>N</em> = 89: 30 Chinese in Taiwan, 30 Chinese immigrants in the UK, and 29 non-immigrant white English in the UK) using both questionnaires and observational data. Cultural differences were found between groups both in reported, as well as observed parenting. The Taiwanese mothers reported greater use of Chinese-specific parenting methods as well as physical coercion and were observed to use more (gentle and assertive) physical intervention than the Chinese immigrant and English mothers. The Chinese immigrant mothers reported a higher degree of granting child autonomy than the Taiwanese and English mothers. These findings provided valuable insights into parenting in different cultural contexts, underscoring the importance of examining both reported and observed behaviour, in order to understand human development from a holistic perspective.

Culture shapes how people express and feel emotions in specific situations and certain aspects of emotions vary across cultures. Body expressions are as powerful as facial expressions in conveying emotions, with North Americans tending to exhibit more exaggerated emotional body language (EBL) than East Asians (Scherer et al., 2018). Our study used two experiments to explore whether individuals' emotion recognition of EBL was affected by cultural background information. Experiment 1 recruited fifty Chinese participants to explored whether individual recognition of emotions was affected by the cultural background of the expresser. We found that participants were more likely to perceive the expresser as an American for high-arousal emotions and to perceive the expresser as a Chinese for low-arousal emotions. Thiry-eight Chinese participants were recruited in Experiment 2a and Experiment 2b respectively. The results (2a) showed that when the expressers were contextualized within an American cultural environment, participants demonstrated faster reaction times and higher accuracy in recognizing happiness, anger, and fear EBL as opposed to a Chinese cultural environment. However, when the identity of the expressers was ‘American’ or ‘Chinese’, there were no significant difference in the participants' recognition of the expressers's emotions (2b). In conclusion, cultural background information plays a significant role in emotion recognition and cross-cultural communication.
