Abstract (sommario):
AbstractOnline arbitration is one of the mechanisms to settle business disputes. Using online arbitration in Indonesia is challenging because the Indonesian arbitration law (Law No.30 of 1999 concerning Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution) does not specifcally deal with online arbitration. This research provides arguments and evidences that the relevant Indonesian national laws support the use of online arbitration. It adopts a normative legal research with a qualitative approach. It is concluded that business people should not be doubtful to use online arbitration to settle their business disputes since it is valid and its awards are enforceable in Indonesia.

Abstract (sommario):
The progress of the times accompanied by increasingly sophisticated technology, opens new opportunities in the national economic development sector. New opportunities, namely business opportunities, are expected to encourage the macroeconomic sector to become more advanced so as to be able to improve the level of welfare of the people of Indonesia, with an increase in business opportunities in the modern world, so goods and services as the main commodity will certainly develop as well. However, goods and services as an element in these economic transactions open up opportunities for the emergence of possible losses suffered by consumers as part of fraud, negligence, or intentional business actors. This condition raises an understanding of the need for protection of consumers as parties who are often harmed by the actions of these 'naughty' business actors. In fact, an institution has been formed which aims to bring consumers to defend their rights as consumers, namely the Indonesian Consumers Foundation, but consumers are still reluctant to go through the judiciary for themselves so that they are more resigned to what they experience.

Abstract. Advances in information and communication technology have caused two major changes in the business world. Firstly, they have caused a wave of new companies emerge that base their business models on the internet. Secondly, they have given rise to the birth of a new group of buyers, known as Generation-Z, who level of expectation and response to consumption are different. Both of these changes -- in business model and in consumption behaviour -- have broad impacts on how companies connect with their business partners and customers. The main purpose of this study is to investigate Generation-Z’s buying behaviour and how this knowledge helps to bring new opportunities for retail business. Abstract (sommario):
This research was conducted for the purpose of ascertaining law enforcements for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) business actors in Indonesia based on Law Number 55 of 1999 concerning Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition. It also analyzes the role of government in providing enforcements to small and Medium Enterprises. In this study, normative legal research was used. It found that the legal protection of small businesses competition in Indonesia is a manifestation of the implementation of economic democracy that contains the principles of justice and togetherness to encourage creating opportunities for every businessman in a healthy competition environment. It also found that healthy competition aims to avoid a monopoly of certain business actors only, but it could provide business opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises business actors to enlarge their business.

Abstract (sommario):
This study aims to examine the development of dairy farming in Indonesia by using the online interview method as a method of data collection, which is then quantified based on the results of the interview. We conducted online interviews with 120 cattle breeders in Indonesia by random sampling and then quantified them for analysis using the narrative quantitative method with the ordinary least square model to perform data regression. This research focuses on looking at the growth of the dairy business which is reflected in the monthly average farmer income calculated from 2000 to 2019, the number of cows, the number of employees and the welfare of employees. We find that the development of the dairy business is influenced by the number of dairy cows, the number of employees and the welfare of the employees which is a reflection of the level of employee job satisfaction.

The purpose of this research is to determine whether Indonesian business practices and culture inhibit the competitiveness of Australian small to medium enterprises in Indonesia. Prior to the current economic demise of the Indonesian economy, Australia's trade relations with its closest Asian neighbour were not as significant as trade with countries far removed from Australia's shores. Previous research has identified that cultural problems and inadequate communication contribute towards the lack of competitiveness of international small to medium enterprises. However there has been no rigorous and comprehensive research specially related to Australian entrepreneurs and the problems they encounter in Indonesia.Several key themes emerged from this study which indicated that thorough planning and market research are more important than a comprehensive understanding of business practices and culture. What the research brings to extant literature is a rigorous and methodological analysis of Indonesian business practices from an Australian entrepreneur's perspective. This provides a structured link between the parent disciple of cross cultural communications, the plethora of information on Asian business practices, and the reality of Australian small to medium enterprises attempting to enter the Indonesian market

Abstract (sommario):
During the last decades, the circular economy has enabled a new kind of business model that is challenging the traditional linear way of doing business. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how an international social enterprise work towards a circular business model, as well as the challenges and opportunities that comes with operating in an emerging market. Previous research on the subject is limited which leaves a research gap in existing literature. Indonesia is an emerging country that is struggling with a weak recycling infrastructure and   lack of waste management, which has resulted in an ocean plastic pollution problem.   In the theoretical framework, relevant aspects of the circular economy, social enterprises and opportunities and challenges with operating in an emerging market are presented. A conceptual framework concludes the literature review by illustrating how the concepts ties together. In order to answer the research questions, a qualitative research method has been followed throughout this single case study, combined with an abductive approach. The data has been collected through semi-structured interviews presented together with secondary data, in order to get a deeper understanding of the case. By examining an international social enterprise with operations in an emerging market, findings on what opportunities and challenges this social enterprise encounter in Indonesia are presented together with how they work towards a circular business model. This study indicates that the international social enterprise challenges the linear way of doing business and can be set as an example for other companies that has a social mission and wants to do business in a sustainable way.   The analysis discusses the relation between the theoretical concepts and the empirical findings, together with observations from the authors. The analysis is followed by the concluding chapter where the contributions are stated, and the research questions are answered, followed by implications, limitations and suggestions for future research. The findings showed that international social enterprises can find opportunities in infrastructure- and institutional gaps in emerging markets. In addition, the findings indicate that a strong social mission can reduce the challenges of operating in an emerging market. The findings have contributed to introducing the social enterprise phenomenon into the international business research field, as well as international social enterprises operating in emerging markets. The authors also provide their definition of the concept ‘social enterprise’.

Abstract (sommario):
As appointed to represent the Indonesian government for managing entire upstream oil and gas business and operations throughout Indonesia, the Special Task Force For Upstream Oil and the Gas Business Activities Republic of Indonesia or known as SKK Migas, have established a vision to integrate monitoring all Production Sharing Contract (PSC) operators in Indonesia, transforming the conventional-manual approach—which was previously less effective and efficient, into an online integrated monitoring system. It is motivated by the digital transformation trend in the industrial world, which brings a new wave of opportunities to raise effectiveness and efficiency. However, the challenges are not easy. Despite the fact that Indonesia’s oil and gas industry has been operating for a long time ago, various technologies, some of which have used old technology, are the actual conditions that must be handled. Therefore, a systematical strategy is required. Step by step approach, by integrating real-time connections of plant information management systems are proposed to incorporate the major production systems, which are responsible for producing more than 80% of 6.600 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 700 thousand barrels of oil per day, from major oil and gas companies in Indonesia. The system was successfully built, which provides integrated real-time monitoring dashboards of major upstream operations in Indonesia and connected online with automatic reporting systems and early warning systems. The system’s dashboards and notifications give flexibility in connection, which can be accessed anytime and anywhere if an internet connection is available. During the pandemic COVID-19, which restricts inspection activities to the fields, the system is proven effective in monitoring points of view without losing supervision over the operational aspects, which assurances the achievement of the executed programs. In conclusion, the contribution of the presented work is the digital transformation in the oil and gas sector in Indonesia in terms of operational supervision, which successfully creates a collaborative working environment in managing the oil and gas production target achievement. It changes the interaction between government and PSC operator companies regarding data capture and process monitoring, bringing a new era in supporting the decision-making process.

This is sought to help improve and improve the community’s economy by opening employment opportunities and developing areas that have the potential as tourism hotspots, one of which is the Komodo National Park in Labuan Bajo. However, due to the outbreak of the SARS- COVID-19 virus, the government came up with a policy to stop economic activity in the tourism sector to prevent the spread of the virus by implementing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). This paper aims to propose a tourism marketing strategy during the COVID-19 period by using Virtual Reality (VR) technology as a market research requirement for the TelkomGroup. This paper used a mix of methods to collect and test the data to prove the hypothesis including an External Analysis (PESTEL and Consumer Analysis) and Internal Analysis (STP or Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning and 4P Marketing Mix). The formulation of the business strategy used in this study was the Lean Canvas Business Model. Qualitative data was obtained from quantitative data analysis, which was in turn obtained by conducting interviews and collecting data surveys from a total of 360 respondents. The research resulted in a proposed marketing strategy for tourism for the COVID -19 period and beyond in the form of an STP and marketing mix, as well as its implementation through the introduction of VR. Therefore, by providing this recommendation, it is hoped that it can be a point of reference to promote and increase the interest of tourists again to support the “Pesona Indonesia” programme.

Abstract (sommario):
Business environment reform (BER) targets inadequate business regulations. It is intended to remove constraints to business investment, enabling growth and job creation, and create opportunities for international business to contribute to and benefit from this growth. However, there is a lack of detailed knowledge of the impact of BER on gender and inclusion (G&I). While a review of existing literature suggests that in general, there is no direct link between BER and G&I, indirect links are likely through the influence of BER on firm performance. Outcomes will be influenced by the differential ways in which women-led firms experience the business environment when compared to their male counterparts, with disparities based on how they are treated under the law, as well as structural and sociocultural factors. The fact that in many countries, female-led firms are fewer and smaller than those of their male counterparts, and may operate in different sectors, also affects these dynamics. This research offers new insights through an in-depth analysis of the impact of the Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (PTSP) or one-stop shop business licensing reform in 2009 on firm performance in Indonesia, and how these impacts vary based on the gender of firm leadership. The results find that on average, firms benefited from improved business performance (sales), as a direct or indirect effect of this reform, as well as an increase in the number of medium and large-scale firms. Outside Jakarta (Bali, Banten, Lampung), women-led firms experienced a small but significant benefit relative to male-led firms, related to both sales and the number of medium and large-scale firms they run. In Jakarta, women-led firms continued to lag behind men and there were no significant effects on employment, and this held across province and gender. These findings are based on an analysis of the PTSP reform using data from the World Bank Enterprise Survey (WBES), a survey of small, medium and large firms (i.e. with more than four employees) which took place in Indonesia between 2009 and 2015.
