Abstract (sommario):
Based on observations on the theological issues that occur at then current writer mendiskripsi is it some thing as background writing this work, including the following: first, the interpretation of the difference resulting from the use of the original language of the Bible is well seen from outside parties i.e. the view of the Islamic religion and views the Jewish religion, as well as from Parties within the IE view of Christianity itself, Second, more specifically the views of Islamic religious figures who say that the Bible is corrupted. K etiga, from among the Christian religion itself there is the memasalahkan process of translation and the translation of results from the original language texts are taken from the existing texts, translations and consider which one is superior (the original script approach) than others. For example there is one book called "The KJV (King James Version)-NIV (New International Version) the Debate" by Jeffrey Khoo of Far Eastern Bible College, Singapore. In addition, the Jehovah's witnesses also issued a statement that there is ' 50,000 errors in the Gospel ' from the magazine Awake (Awake) volume 38 No. 17 September 8, 1957, and much material delivered through another edition. And the program used by the Islamic religious figures, one of them Late. Ahmed Deedat in his book 'Is the Bible God's Word?' who use the resources of the Jehovah's witnesses in his book, even in other books as well. The writing of history sources: written sources. Written materials are usually the most important source for historians to reconstruct history. This resource is divided into two categories: (1) history written in passing or official, and (2) the history of written carefully according to the rules of writing of history (based on the library). History written in passing include the ' raw data ' of history, from the records produced by all levels of society, starting with an individual level to the international level. In doing research there are some which are used to examine cases that are in the books that will be examined. Because covered are comparing the two texts are actually related, so the methods that used a combination of several methods. Moreover, comparing the texts of Scripture, so keep in mind the previous method used, i.e. as follows: form criticism, Literary Criticism and critique texts. Criticism of the Bible can be divided into two parts; i.e. High Criticism and critique. This type of study could be applied to the Bible, because it is named after the biblical research. Christian Encyclopedia defines: "science to achieve a satisfactory knowledge of the origin, history, and circumstances of the original text of the Bible." I need to know the history of high criticism and criticism of low as well as its development, namely as follows: the term "criticism" always refers to a negative connotation. Though not always have to be so. The sense of the term principal criticism was the examination or testing of an issue, or a problem with the intention of determining the keotentikannya, the keterandalannya, or its significance. " Criticism of the term basically means an opinion, or an act of judgment; derived from the verb in the language of Greece (... [crino]) means of judging, or testing, or forward tudingan or charges against, or sets, a row of the meaning of the above meaning. If used in the fields of literature, he suggests thinking – not an attempt at finding errors – but with a fair and properly assess the goodness and evil things openly and objectively. In other words, is an impartial appraisal, or anything similar to that for example it anything that could be considered by certain critics. " Both methods above criticism in a high Criticism that is form criticism and criticism of literature. While the Text Criticism is Criticism.

Abstract (sommario):
Through an analysis of the development of social organisations in Singapore since 1819, this thesis investigates the ebb and flow of associational activity through both the colonial and post-Independence periods in order to establish its nature and form and determinants thereof. This will be done using a four part structure that provides a framework for such analysis. The structure distinguishes between associational life, rudimentary civil society, conditional civil society and comprehensive civil society. Although considerable work has been done on the analysis of contemporary civil society in Singapore, the thesis is the first dedicated historical study of civil society in Singapore. It adopts an understanding of civil society that accords with post-Marxist definitions of civil society that argue that organisations need to play a political role in order to be considered as part of civil society. This contrasts with a more inclusive liberal notion of civil society emphasising the range and extent of social organisations constituting civil society, including those outside either the formal or informal political spheres. The post-Marxist definition of civil society chosen as a basis for the discussion contains many elements. Primarily, though, it requires the presence of a range of voluntary, autonomous organisations that have the capacity to promote their interests through political means within a competitive political sphere. The pivotal dimension for the emergence of civil society is the presence of a competitive political sphere. It is often the crucial missing element that prevents a comprehensive civil society from emerging. The study reveals that a rudimentary civil society had developed by the introduction of colonial rule in 1867. Between 1819 and 1867, the merchants used a selection of formal and informal methods to influence public policy. Although many of the key elements of a comprehensive civil society were missing, this rudimentary form of civil society was both vigorous and effective. This effective form of civil society continued to grow and develop into the colonial period because the associations continued to actively pursue their interests through whatever means were possible, and their participation in public policy debate was both tolerated and encouraged by the colonial regime. Although a range of well organised associations emerged, the absence of a competitive formal political sphere meant that associational activity was limited. In the absence of such a sphere, the colonial regime was able to disempower organisations that threatened British power in the region. Associational activity represented a conditional civil society throughout the remainder of the pre-war period, and it ebbed and flowed in response to British internal and external policies. Driven by the forces of nationalism, an active conditional civil society re-emerged at the end of the Japanese Occupation. In the immediate postwar period, the British made a serious commitment to self-government for Singapore. In line with that commitment, the first postwar constitution represented a significant step towards self government. The new constitution created a political environment that provided extensive opportunities for political competition, and the conditional form of civil society entered a transition period towards a comprehensive civil society. This transformation was halted by the introduction of the Emergency Regulations in 1948. However, by 1955, the rapid approach of self-government and the introduction of a new constitution created a political sphere that was competitive. This stimulated the formation of a range of political parties that pursued the interests of their constituents, and a comprehensive civil society emerged. By 1975, the ruling PAP party had emasculated the vigorous associations that it had inherited from the British and had created a dominant one party state. Associational activities were directed through government controlled grassroots organisations and the once powerful trade unions and student groups were co-opted by the state. Between 1960-1985, organised communal activity had no political role and represented associational life. In 1985, independent interest groups began to re-emerge as a result of massive social and economic change. Although the political sphere became slightly more competitive after 1981 due to the presence of opposition representatives in Parliament and some political accommodation of the growing middle class, it remains restricted. In the absence of this key dimension, contemporary civil society takes a conditional form, and the regime is free to disempower any organisations that it perceives as a threat. This thesis will argue that civil society can exist in many forms. These forms accommodate to varying degrees the ideal definition adopted here. The factors that help explain what forms predominate include the strength and determination of the associations' leaders to pursue their interests, external factors such as the growth of nationalism, and the level of social, political and economic needs to be addressed. Most importantly, the nature and role of the state has played an important part, and state power was used to both promote and obstruct civil society. In particular, the level of tolerance and accommodation towards organisational activity shown by the state has proved to be a major explanatory variable for the emergence of a comprehensive civil society.

Abstract (sommario):
The thesis aims to suggest directions towards a defensible conception of citizenship and approach to citizenship education in Singapore. In recent years, citizenship in Singapore has centred around the themes of identity and participation. Among educationists in general, there is a recognition that citizens need to be prepared for involvement in the political process. In plural societies, however, there is no one set of values which can guide deliberation and resolve differences. Consequently, there are questions as to the values which could be advocated in citizenship education. The approach in this thesis is to analyse the concept of citizenship, with due consideration given to the values and assumptions of Singapore society, and its social, political and economic circumstances. This analysis is carried out in the light of the research and theorising on citizenship and citizenship education in England and Wales. Controversial issues exist on which there is no agreement on which society is divided. The neutral approach, which is sometimes suggested as being appropriate for handling such issues, is examined. The larger question of state neutrality is also discussed, and a case is made for state perfectionism. In addition, it is argued that there are legitimate variations in moral judgement, and an account is presented of the nature of moral thinking that admits of such variations. It is suggested that a common culture is important in a plural society because this provides the grounds for policy decisions, particularly where state perfectionism is espoused; it also allows for the development of a national identity. Developing this common culture requires public deliberation in exploring the values and issues concerning a society. Finally, the arguments that have been presented are related to citizenship and citizenship education in Singapore, and recommendations made.

Abstract (sommario):
This thesis discusses some aspects of the exhibition designer's role in state museums and galleries. It draws on the author's experiences in Singapore and his observations as a student living in Sydney. Museum exhibition designers are servants of the state. They help create public culture and promote a version of history. But if one is to understand the ways in which designers create meaning (and serve their employer's interests) we need to identify the 'vocabulary' and 'grammar' that they have at their disposal. To this end, the thesis outlines the variables that they work with and argues that they need to understand their employer's ideologies and history. The design vocabulary and grammar that the exhibition designer works with to create meaning in bridging understanding needs to be commensurate with the knowledge of history and the primary ideologies of the state which he/she serves. Singapore's recent interest in arts and heritage museums as part of a larger desire for regional economic and cultural survival and pre-eminence needs to be identified with the evolution, interconnectedness and ambitions of Singapore's arts and cultural organisations. In conjunction, some of the implications of Singapore's Arts and Heritage Policy need to be unpacked. A brief but concise comparative history of Sydney, Australia is made for the arts, cultural and museum comparison between Australia and Singapore. The exhibition designer's vocabulary and grammar can then be used to evaluate four exhibitions in Sydney and Singapore. This dissertation addresses the issues of 'Asian-ness' , modernisation without westernisation and the state's desire to meet the challenges which global communication systems place upon Singapore citizen's welfare. The dissertation is very art focused. It discusses all display objects as though they were paintings and works of fine art

Abstract (sommario):
The article discusses the prerequisites for creating translations of the Bible into Norwegian and the history of its first translation into landsmål. The authors describe the evolution of the Bible translation and incorporation in the translation of Norwegian words and expressions, and show the influence of society in changing the biblical text. Particular attention is given to the impact of the Bible translation on the spread of New Norwegian as a cultural language in present-day Norway. The paper compares excerpts from translations of the Gospel of Mark into Norwegian riksmål (1904) and landsmål (1921) language varieties. The authors demonstrate the difference between formal and functional equivalence approaches to translating biblical texts and show that translators into landsmål, while trying to stick to the original source, considered it much more important to convey the poetry of the biblical language and to make it understandable to recipients. In conclusion, it is noted that Norwegian society accepted the new translation of the Bible, which in turn opened the way for the acceptance of nynorsk (the New Norwegian) as the language of the church.

Abstract (sommario):
This report outlines the results from the research project Food for Urban Life and Localities (FULL) funded by Formas (2020-02864). The research set out to learn how COVID-19 response strategies in six cities (Stockholm, London, Wuhan, Singapore, Sydney, and Seoul) have facilitated access to food for vulnerable groups and how new food supply solutions have emerged through social and technological innovations. This report presents the case of each city in turn and pauses on the role of community-based organisations, ad- hoc community initiatives and municipalities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The report provides a detailed discussion of local or community-level responses in cities that aim to provide access to food through social and/or technological innovations. The lessons learned are important for the Swedish context in the case of similar events that challenge local access to food. The research collected data through qualitative and quantitative methods, and also made use of the breadth of online data sources in response to COVID-19 restrictions on free movement and travelling. The overall finding is that in situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, local access to food is extremely challenging and cannot be addressed by existing welfare or state arrangements only;civil society organisations and voluntary community organizations (VCOs) step in to fill the gap in public provision; and the stricter the lockdown, the more dependent on civil society response urban areas and communities were.

Abstract (sommario):
In this bibliometric study, we analyze the six battery research subfields identified in the BATTERY 2030+ roadmap: Battery Interface Genome, Materials Acceleration Platform, Recyclability, Smart functionalities: Self-healing, Smart functionalities: Sensing, and Manufacturability. In addition, we analyze the entire research field related to BATTERY 2030+ as a whole, using two operationalizations. We (a) evaluate the European standing in the subfields/the BATTERY 2030+ field in comparison to the rest of the world, and (b) identify strongholds of the subfields/the BATTERY 2030+ field across Europe. For each subfield and the field as a whole, we used seed articles, i.e. articles listed in the BATTERY 2030+ roadmap or cited by such articles, in order to generate additional, similar articles located in an algorithmically obtained classification system. The output of the analysis is publication volumes, field normalized citation impact values with comparisons between country/country aggregates and between organizations, co-publishing networks between countries and organizations, and keyword co-occurrence networks. For the results related to (a), the performance of EU & associated (countries) is similar to China and the aggregate Japan-South Korea-Singapore and well below North America regarding citation impact and with respect to the field as a whole. Exceptions are, however, the subfields Battery Interface Genome and Recyclability. For the results related to (b), there is a large variability in the EU & associated organizations regarding volume in the different subfields. For citation impact, examples of high-performing EU & associated organizations are ETH Zurich and Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science.

Abstract (sommario):
When considering countries of phenomenal economic development and growth, Korea is among the top tiers. While there are other economies with similar economic growth, including those of Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, the economic growth of Korea is exceptional considering that the country lacked basic economic foundation in the past. R. Lucas Jr. (1993), a Nobel Laureate in economics and also a renowned scholar of the respective field, praised the country's economic success, by stating that "I do not think it is in any way an exaggeration to refer to this continuing transformation of Korean society as a miracle". As an evidence for his argument, he asserted "Never before have the lives of so many people undergone so rapid an improvement over so long a period, nor is there any sign that this progress is near its end". Yet, the history of Korea is more than just its outcome; it is the history of continuous national ordeal, a series of challenges and crisis that required people to toil night and day to overcome the situation. If it were not for today's splendid economic success, it would have been more appropriate to describe the history of Korea as that of wretchedness and misery. The fact that South Korea became one of the leading nations in the world is nothing less than a miracle, considering that it underwent many hardships after its independence such as fratricidal Korean War, a long period of dictatorship, 4.19 revolution as a reactionary to the dictatorship, 5.16 military coup, the engagement in the Vietnam War, two oil crises, another military coup afterwards, civil revolutions, a foreign exchange crisis, and the global economic crisis. Economic growth means value-added increase in a certain period of time. To boost this value-added increase, the elements of production such as labor, capital, and land must be both accumulated and invested. Furthermore, it requires the effective use of these elements by combining them when necessary, so that the best value can be drawn out. In other words, the vital factor in economic growth is raising productivity. Then, given similar situations, how come some countries show different performance in factor accumulation or productivity improvement? The accumulation of resources and increase of productivity depend on economic incentive. Proper institution in an economy that provides incentives for economic agents enables factors to flow and to be accumulated where productivity is high. It also gives motivation for innovation and improvement of productivity. Competition in product markets and acquisition of resources and raw materials with low cost through an open-door policy can induce the accumulation of elements and improvement of technology, where in a broader perspective, open-door policy can also be considered as a part of institution. The growth of the Korean economy is unique since only a few economies could demonstrate compatibly high growth rates for a long period. However, at the same time, Korea's case is never unique as its success story is based on factor accumulation, productivity enhancement and, most of all, a fundamental called institution. Its growth was possible due to the fact that there was a proper functioning of market backed by the establishment of proper institutions. The Korean government indeed worked favorably towards the establishment of institution and running of economy in a market-friendly manner. Some features of its growth pattern are worthwhile to be illustrated as there are still a large number of developing countries and high income countries with unstable institutions worldwide, which could gain from a part of Korea's story, at least, and collect substantial knowledge for their future growth.
