Abstract (sommario):
Traditional architecture is an element of culture that grows and develops in tandem with the growth of a tribe and nation in an area. The BSI building in the city of Lhokseumawe is a public building whose main function is as a center for administrative and financial services for the community in the area. This building was previously known as the Mandiri bank in Lhokseumawe city and was acquired by Bank BSI due to regulations that applied to the Aceh region. The reason behind the appointment of the Lhokseumawe city BSI bank as a case study is because in physical appearance it can be identified that in its application of its form it adopts traditional Acehnese architecture, which generally commercial buildings such as banks have modern architectural forms. This study aims to determine the façade forming factors and the application of traditional Aceh architectural concepts to buildings and the adaptations that occur in buildings. This type of research is qualitative with data analysis using descriptive in its presentation. The method of data collection is carried out in stages, using observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate the influence of Acehnese traditional architecture or rumoh Aceh on the BSI building in Lhokseumawe city as a façade forming factor. Many elements are applied to the building as the application of local culture to the building.

Abstract (sommario):
With the rise of energy prices, the need for saving energy have increased. The existing buildings are poorly insulated, so it seems enough to insulate building envelope additionally and in such a way to save about 50% of annual energy consumption for heating. But there are some problems here. With new constructions everything is clear—the insulating materials do not enlarge the overall cost of building too much. But the situation becomes much more complicated with the existing poorly insulated buildings. The profitability of energy savings in dwelling buildings depends on the relationship between the prices of energy, building materials and workmanship, the market lowest interest rate and partly on average earnings of the inhabitants. The paper submits the data of Lithuania's dwelling stock—thermal conditions of enclosures, dwelling areas, annual average heat losses before and after insulation of enclosures according to the requirements of the building code RSN-143-92 “Thermal Technique of Buildings”. We have also calculated the limit investments into additional insulation of enclosures, depending on duration of a bank loan, a bank interest rate, present price of heating and expected probable relative energy price increase in Lithuania. The paying back energy conservation measures and priorities of realization of those measures are suggested under Lithuanian conditions too.

Abstract (sommario):
Global warming and climate change are hot topics of environmentalists globally. The World Bank’s ‘Climate Change Action Plan’ for 2021 to 2025 explains the policies and programs to be implemented by banks and financial institutions to combat climate change. The UN and World Bank have taken actions towards achieving minimal carbon emissions that in turn reduce global warming. In India, national-level financial institutions such as RBI, NABARD, SIDBI and Exim Bank took the lead in formulating policies to achieve the goal of greening the banking system. SBI granted financial assistance for windmills and kick-started green financing activity, followed by all other banks. Financial assistance at the concessional interest rate to renewable energy and energy-efficient projects and buildings, electric vehicles, start-ups, trading green bonds and issues of green mutual funds are introduced by various banks. Additionally, within the bank, a sea change in the form green ATMs, digitalization of banking, issue of electronic bank statements and e-mail communication are started. Various other changes, such as green bank building, purchasing electric equipment conforming to green standards, changing LED lighting systems, conducting conferences and meetings electronically, etc., are implemented in the banks. Thus, both the internal changes within the bank and external changes address the issue of climate change. The study reveals that even though banks have taken the green initiatives a decade back, it is not widely popularized among customers and common people for a nationwide speedy adoption of green banking.

Abstract (sommario):
With the number of bank consolidations increasing around the world since the 1990s, several studies have examined what factors drive banks to consolidate, and some argue that bank managers who have a motive of empire buildings choose mergers. In this study, we deal with mergers among Japanese small mutual banks (credit associations or Shinkin banks) during the period 1996 to 2005. Japanese credit associations have been experiencing an unprecedented wave of consolidation, with their number decreasing from 410 (March 1996) to 292 (April 2006). Interestingly, unlike stock companies, mutual companies are often expected to be weak in terms of disciplining managers. If so, mutual banks tend to choose inefficient mergers at the expense of other stakeholders. Here, we use the stochastic frontier approach (SFA) to obtain “cost efficiency” proxy. We find that while the efficiency of acquiring credit associations decreases during the merger period, mergers do ultimately improve efficiency. Based on our results we find that raising efficiency, not for building empires, is an important goal for such credit association mergers.

Abstract (sommario):
The building sector is a key contributor to climate change, accounting for 40% of global energy consumption and 39% of CO2 emissions. Presently, green buildings have been viewed as crucial strategies to reduce the negative effects of the construction sector. Yet green building research is often carried out in developed countries, while relatively little is known in sub-Saharan African countries. Therefore, this study attempts to investigate the extent of adoption of green building concepts and technologies in Ethiopian buildings, with particular reference to the Wegagen Bank Headquarters building. The study employed an interview, which was underpinned by observation. The quantitative data were analyzed through descriptive statistics while the qualitative data were analyzed through content and context analysis. Results revealed that while the building provides convenient access to transportation; it lacks designated open spaces. Based on the findings, the widely used technologies were energy-saving lighting, highly efficient plumbing fixtures, and external solar shading system. Lack of awareness, lack of policy, insufficient professional skills, the perception that green buildings are expensive, and lack of green building materials hindered the adoption of the concepts. Therefore, the study suggests developing green building policy and rating systems, professional capacity building, and awareness creation as important measures.

Abstract (sommario):
With the development of economy, more and more buildings are constructed on both sides of rivers. The rapid drawdown of water level may induce the change of groundwater seepage in the river bank, thus affecting the stability of buildings on the bank. In this study, the right bank of Qinhuai river with its ancillary building from the Dinghuai Gate to the Qingliang Gate in Nanjing City is analyzed to reveal the failure mechanism and coupled failure mode of slope and building adjacent to water. The soil-water coupled SPH program considering the interaction between soil and structure has been proposed. Then this model is used to study the evolutionary deformation mechanism of slope and building under the rapid drawdown of water level. The results indicate that the potential slip surface of slope and the asymmetrical distribution of plastic zone in the foundation of building become more obvious under the rapid drawdown of water level. Besides, the differential settlement of building induced by the rapid drawdown causes the building tilt. When the sliding surface of the slope passes the building, the differential settlement will become larger. This study is conducive to reveal the coupled failure mechanism of slope and building and also to provide scientific basis for the prevention of such disasters.

Abstract (sommario):
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Zagreb witnessed the appearance of a new building typology meant to accommodate various sorts of monetary institutions: banks, savings banks, insurance companies and stock exchanges. This paper presents one important early example of that type – the seat of the Croatian Escompte Bank in Zagreb. It was designed in 1898-1899 by the Vienna-based studio Fellner and Helmer for a prominent location at 3 Ilica Street and it heralded the defining features of the new building type, such as the union of diverse facilities within a single structure, imposing architectural features and overall grand appearance, and a highly prominent role in the urban fabric of the city. In particular, it contributed to the definition of a spatial and formal scheme for commercial corner buildings, as the most exposed and attractive segments of downtown city blocks. In that sense it served as a productive model for a number of corner buildings intended for business purposes that were to follow.

Abstract (sommario):
INTRODUCTION The revitalization of downtown Richmond, Virginia, in the 21st century has been a slow process, beginning in the financial center near the State Capitol Building and migrating slowly westward along Broad Street, the traditional retail avenue of the City. One by one over the course of the past several years, large, iconic buildings have been rehabilitated for new and exciting uses. These buildings have long been associated with the history of the City itself: the Miller & Rhoads Department Store, the John Marshall Hotel, the First National Bank Building, and the Hotel Richmond among others. The Central National Bank (CNB) Building was built at the dawn of the Great Depression and eventually became one of the last Art Deco style skyscrapers remaining in downtown Richmond. Its location in the neglected western fringe area of Broad Street made it the next logical target for rehabilitation. When Douglas Development purchased the vacant building in 2005, they were buying the crowning piece of architecture that they hoped would become the linchpin project to spur the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood. That lofty goal was not without challenges, of course, and it took 8 years to put the project together and start the building's renovation. The complications inherent in the rehabilitation of any iconic 75-year old building listed on the National Register of Historic Places to suit continued use for contemporary life also clearly came into play.

Under support from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) is going to develop two new integrated classroom buildings, which consist of not only classrooms, but also seminar rooms, laboratories, lecturer’s rooms, educational studios, and auditoria. As an approach to make the buildings gaining the green building certificate, the rating tools are selected from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). One of the parameters used in the rating tools are how the buildings manage its water resources, as rated from water conservation methods and techniques. The purpose of the research is to analyse the design of the new buildings, particularly the methods in water conservation to be rated in greenship for new building design. The data are obtained from all detailed engineering design documents of the buildings, which include working drawings, detailed specifications, and bill of quantity. By using parameters stated in the GBCI’s rating tools, methods of water conservation are analysed to gain the targeted score for fulfilling the specific level of greenship.

Abstract (sommario):
The need for a quick and radical green transition gives a key role to the financial system as the main source to fund the change. This debate also involves the development of banking regulation tools able to serve the transition. Building on previous works, we propose a method to weight banks’ assets that combines conventional financial risks and environmental risks to calculate prudential capital requirements, and we apply it to the EU Taxonomy’s technical screening criteria to build an environmental risk indicator based on the buildings’ energy consumptions. We show how to calculate the tool endogenously for the taxonomy sections related to buildings (new construction, purchase of building, renovation), thus proving its immediate enforceability, using data from the Lombardy’s housing stocks. Finally, we conduct a stress test for the Italian banking system showing that our proposal would be an effective incentive for the banks to fund the green transition of the construction sector. Abstract (sommario):
Abstract The 2022 Q4 data published by the Real Estate Information Platform of the Ministry of the Interior stated that 4.62 million buildings were more than 30 years old, accounting for approximately 51% of the total number of buildings in Taiwan. Since Taiwan is located in a high seismic zone and old buildings have a low seismic resistance. With the emergence of an aging society, where many old buildings are occupied by older people or even older people living alone. Furthermore, old buildings need elevators, making house sales and mortgages difficult. To encourage people to participate in the reconstruction of old buildings, the Ministry of the Interior announced the implementation of the Statute for Reconstruction of Urban Unsafe and Old Buildings on May 10, 2017. Buildings owners who met the Statute for Reconstruction of Urban Unsafe and Old Buildings requirements were expected to value and participate in the program. This study focused on Kaohsiung City and included in-depth interviews with ten people, including experienced architects, banks, willing applicants, and real estate agencies. Using the MAXQDA result analysis, this study discovered that the interviewees paid attention to the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings 299 times in total: execution of reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings (90 times, 39.30%), policy on the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings (61 times, 26.64%), incentives for the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings (47 times, 20.52%), and subsidies for the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings (31 times, 13.54%). Therefore, when promoting the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings in the future, the Kaohsiung City government should first address “execution” issues, such as difficulties in executing the reconstruction program and obtaining bank loans; developing a feasible financial plan for the reconstruction of unsafe and old buildings; and assisting willing applicants in successfully securing bank loans.

Abstract - The city district known as Senen forms one of the historical parts of Jakarta where there are many buildings to be found in the Dutch East Indies Empire style as architectural relics of the Dutch Colonial Era, and the majority of these buildings are still there, up to the present. Many of these relics of the past have not been properly maintained and have suffered damage. One of these happens to be the Heritage Bank Indonesia building situated at Jalan Prapatan No.42 in Jakarta. After its conservation and re-use, a functional change has taken place that is quite drastic when considered from its establishment until the present. This research study can be categorized as qualitative. The research method consists of the descriptive method along with the analytical and interpretative methods. The data have been analyzed by drawing a comparison between the building in its initial state and its current condition, which was subsequently processed based on the conservation principles issued by the regional authorities called Perda. The data collection technique was employed with the observational method, interviews, taking measurements, and by way of studying the relevant background literature. The conclusion of this research study is that the building of the Heritage Bank Indonesia is nothing but a piece of sculpture after its conservation because it has become isolated or alienated from its surroundings, and as such it is no longer in keeping with its environmental context, which is situated in the Learning center complex of Bank Indonesia. Abstract (sommario):
Entering Brisbane's South Bank from the Victoria Bridge, we walk past the concrete 1980s Queensland Performing Arts Complex, the brick Queensland Conservatorium and the modern, glass-fronted ABC Broadcasting buildings, then past assorted cafes and pseudo-beaches until reaching the Ship Inn. Here, we enter an enclave of mid- to late-nineteenth-century architectural gems, surrounding and focusing on the small but tranquil South Brisbane Memorial Park (1923). Opposite the Ship Inn (1865), Cumbooquepa (1891) and South Brisbane Town Hall (1891–92), and adjoining the Maritime Museum (1881), at the eastern edge of South Bank Parklands stands a magnificent old building now known as the Griffith Film School. This building has been the cultural hub of South Brisbane for 130 years, and provides a stylish, heritage ‘bookend’ to today's South Bank Cultural and Educational Precinct.

Abstract (sommario):
Background:The indoor built environment has the potential to influence levels of physical activity. However, the extent to which architectural design in commercial buildings can influence the percentage of people choosing to use the stairs versus elevators is unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine if buildings with centrally located, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing staircases result in a greater percentage of people taking the stairs. Methods:Direct observations of stair and elevator use were conducted in 3 buildings on a university campus. One of the buildings had a bank of 4 centrally located elevators and a fire escape stairwell behind a steel door. The other 2 buildings had centrally located staircases and out-of-the-way elevators. Results:The percentage of people who ascended the stairs was 8.1% in the elevator-centric building, compared with 72.8% and 81.1% in the 2 stair-centric buildings (P < .001). In addition, the percentage of people who descended the stairs was 10.8% in the first building, compared with 89.5% and 93.7% in the stair-centric buildings (P < .001).Conclusions:The results of the current study suggest that if buildings are constructed with centrally located, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing staircases, a greater percentage of people will choose to take the stairs.

Abstract (sommario):
Under the support from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) is going to build two-identical nine storey integrated classroom buildings. The buildings were designed to have green building certificate by proposing and fulfilling the requirements from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) rating system. For design recognition (DR) phase, the system requires efforts and measures in energy efficiency. The paper analyses all design aspects and criteria included in the working drawings, technical specifications, and bill of quantities as provided in the buildings detailed-engineering-design (DED). The analysis covers the calculation of overall thermal transfer value (OTTV), artificial lighting, vertical transportation, and air conditioning system. By using energy modelling software, the OTTV for Building A and Building B, with 19,445.13 m2 of total floor area using VRF-AC system, are 31.78 W/m2 and 33.48 W/m2 respectively. The proposed annual energy use is 3510.90 MWh with the index of energy consumption is 180.55 kWh/m2 per-year. The results showed that by achieving 32.58% of energy efficiency, the DR of UM’s two classroom buildings is affordable to attain 11 points in the rating system.

Abstract (sommario):
Six buildings in the Wellington region and the upper South Island, instrumented as part of the GeoNet Building Instrumentation Programme, recorded strong motion data during the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake. The response of two of these buildings: the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) Harbour Quays, and Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE) buildings, are examined in detail. Their acceleration and displacement response was reconstructed from the recorded data, and their vibrational characteristics were examined by computing their frequency response functions. The location of the BNZ building in the CentrePort region on the Wellington waterfront, which experienced significant ground motion amplification in the 1–2 s period range due to site effects, resulted in the imposition of especially large demands on the building. The computed response of the two buildings are compared to the intensity of ground motions they experienced and the structural and nonstructural damage they suffered, in an effort to motivate the use of structural response data in the validation of performance objectives of building codes, structural modelling techniques, and fragility functions. Finally, the nature of challenges typically encountered in the interpretation of structural response data are highlighted.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the architecture of European banking institutions in Guangzhou, built on the territory of Shamyan island in the late 19th – early 20th century. A brief historical excursion into the history of the formation of the British and French concessions is given. This publication examines the stylistic and compositional features of the architecture of such banking institutions as: Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation; The Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China; International banking corporation (City Bank); Bank of Taiwan; Commercial Corporation of Mitsubishi; Yokogama Specie Bank; The E.D.Sassoon & Co.Ltd. и D. Sassoon Sons Co. Ltd; Bank of Indochina; China & France Industry Bank. A composite and stylistic analysis was conducted, an iconographic description of the buildings of the main banks located within the boundaries of the former European concessions on Shamyan Island is given The study reveals the general principles of the development of the architecture of banking institutions in Guangzhou. The materials and results of the research carried out by the authors of this article allowed us to formulate the following conclusions: 1. The territorial isolation of the Shamyan island from the Chinese part of Guangzhou, as well as the operation within the concessions of British and French laws, contributed to the fact that the development of the architectural ensemble of the island as a whole was carried out in line with the advanced West European architectural and urban trends. 2. Most of the banking buildings here are built in the eclectic style with the predominance of neoclassicism features, of course, this fact is connected with the desire of the owners of bank corporations to demonstrate to the clients and competitors the financial strength of their organizations. 3. In the architecture of the considered banking institutions there is an active use of tectonics and elements of the order system, colonnades, arcades, the allocation of the first floor in the form of a rustic plinth. The motifs of Renaissance architecture, Baroque and Art Nouveau are also traced. 4. The formation of the appearance of banking buildings in Shamyan was strongly influenced by local conditions. The hot and humid subtropical climate of the south of China contributed to the spread in the architecture of the structures of this type of order colonnades, forming deep open verandas, as well as the use of X-shaped creaks-elements to ensure the natural ventilation of buildings, which, in addition, became an expressive element of the facade decoration

Abstract (sommario):
Due to effect of reservoir water, the deformation mechanism of reservoir bank slope has a great of influence to the buildings which locate on the bank slope. Considering the changes of permeability coefficient of ground, the deformation characteristics of bank slope ground and pile are analyzed based on the method of pile-soil interaction under the condition that the reservoir water level changing speed is invariable. The results revealed that the larger horizontal displacement of the ground and piles happened when the ground has a smaller permeability coefficient, and the larger settlement of the ground and pile happened, especially the pile which has greater differential settlement when the permeability coefficient of ground is larger. The results have certain reference significance on the safety evaluation and design of buildings which locate on reservoir bank slope.

Abstract (sommario):
Based on the perspective of game theory, this paper studies the land reserve competition behaviour of developers in assembled buildings development. This paper studies in detail the land price decision in the unilateral equilibrium model of land market, the lending strategy of commercial bank executives under the banking supervision system, the bank credit demand of developers hoarding land, and the bilateral equilibrium model of credit-land market under the loan game of bank executives. The results show that the equilibrium price of land is positively correlated with the number of developers, the total amount of bank loans available to developers and the basic price of land. There is a positive "vicious" circular transmission mechanism between land price, marginal private interest of bank executives' lending and bank financial support.

Abstract (sommario):
Energy management is a critical component of intelligent, low-energy buildings. Demand-side management may benefit more from energy management. It could allow the system to use less energy while still meeting its demand for the available resources. According to recent research, buildings may reduce their energy use by up to 30% via improved operations, which are often based on effective energy management using the load priority algorithm. As a result, there is still room for energy savings in buildings via improved and effective operation. Smart grids provide electricity systems with suitable infrastructure for enhancing building energy efficiency. The secret to creating energy-efficient processes is creating rules based on energy consumption priority algorithms. When an energy bank is limited and an energy supply to a system is needed for a specific time, the priority algorithm is frequently used. In this study, a priority algorithm is put forward and put to the test in a real-world setting of a low-energy building.

Abstract (sommario):
This study evaluates the awareness of green buildings in the West Bank, Palestine, and the importance of applying the green building concept to the public. Green building practices are a significant role in attaining sustainability, particularly in the construction industry. This practice is constructed for minimizing impacts on the environment as well as decreasing building effects on occupants. The key issue is the establishment of a solid knowledge foundation for Palestine that will equip the public, professionals, development agencies and governments with accurate and relevant knowledge generated within the framework of the state’s social needs, its cultures, and its biophysical environment to guide their decisions and actions towards establishing a sustainable built environment. The hypothesis tested was that the implementation of green technology will be beneficial in terms of cost and benefit for the improvement of the environment in West Bank, Palestine. The validity and reliability of data were considered to increase the quality of the data. The results show that there is a positive significant relationship between awareness level and the efficiency of building green practices in West Bank, Palestine. Therefore, motivation and government support are crucial to increase the awareness level of the importance of green building development in West Bank, Palestine. The survey conducted revealed that although the fieldwork professionals are aware of the green building concept, the general public is not aware of this concept as there was only minor efforts are developed in implementing it. A lot more work is necessarily needed to enhance public awareness of the application of green building and further stimulate measures and strategies towards a sustainable built environment.

Abstract (sommario):
The tropical region is often considered as a region where the sun shines intensely and the temperature varies at certain times of the year. In the case of Congo, the average weather condition is considered cool, however, there have been cases where the temperature reached up to 43° C. It is therefore imperative for buildings in this region to take into account the temperature variation while considering the comfort of the users. During the design and construction of the Bank of Belgian Congo, the availability of data to assist the architect Maurice Houyoux in meeting the challenge of the region was unavailable. The architect had to be creative in planning and overcoming the challenges posed by the environment. This paper seeks to examine the issues confronted by Maurice Houyoux and the design solutions he provided to ensure that the building was functional and responded to the tropical challenges. In undertaking this study, a historical approach was adopted through the review of relevant literature on the building and designs within the period of the development of the bank. An observation method was also deployed to verify some of the information found in the literature. The findings are presented using pictures and sketches to explain some of the key issues relevant to the design of the bank. The findings showed that despite the reduced number of published data for designing in such a region, the architect was able to examine the existing buildings and discuss with users of other constructions to obtain relevant data. The findings also showed that the building was able to respond to peculiar requirements to be functional. The paper concludes that the local building materials and traditional builders can be used to achieve a contemporary building that fits into the context towards sustainable architecture.

Abstract (sommario):
The article is devoted to the publication of a number of Yurta-shaped dwellings of the X-XII centuries, discovered during excavations at the Samosdelka hillfort in the Volga Delta and at Left-Bank Samosdelka settlement, adjacent to the mentioned hillfort. The hillfort is known as the place of the supposed localization of the medieval cities of Saqsin (XI-XIV centuries) and Itil (IX-X centuries). The article briefly describes the planigraphy of the archaeological monument and the conditions of four circular dwellings discovering. Three of them belong to the X century and date back to the Khazar era. One dwelling has a more complex structure and belongs to the heyday of the city of Saqsin (XI-XII centuries). The design features of dwellings are analyzed, and archaeological and ethnographic analogies are given to both dwellings as a whole and to their individual elements. Two early circular buildings had no traces of a fireplace inside, so we can consider them not as dwellings, but yurta-shaped structures for household purposes. There were fireplaces in one building of the X century, found on the periphery of the Left-Bank settlement, as well as in the construction of the XI-XII centuries in the Central part of the hillfort. We can rightfully call these structures yurta-shaped dwellings. The last building has the most complex design, it is made using burnt square-shaped bricks for lining the edge of the laying bench and the walls in the basement. Bricks were also used as supports for poles and pillars. The presence of bricks indicates the time of the appearance of this dwelling after dismantling the hillfort citadel walls for getting building materials out of them. The discovered dwelling is a confirmation of the words of Abu Hamid al-Garnati, who wrote that in the city of Saqsin, the noble Oguzes had large “tents” like domes that can accommodate a large number of people. We can find direct analogies to such dwellings in the construction of Kazakh yurta-shaped buildings of the XIX - early XX centuries.

Abstract (sommario):
The horrendous events in September of last year, from airplane attacks on large buildings to bioterrorism in postal and other government facilities, raised awareness of the vulnerability many modern buildings to terrorist attack and the importance of designing safer buildings that impede terrorist activity and that can facilitate occupant egress at a time of crisis. This symposium will examine the role that Human Factors professionals can play in improving the design of Immune Buildings, designed to better protect occupants and minimize the risks of hostile activity. Four papers will be presented that will examine human factors contributions to new ways of thinking about buildings. The first paper by James Wise will describe approaches to de-opportunizing such undesirable behaviors and environmental design changes that can thwart vandalism, burglaries, bank robberies, physical and sexual assaults, and counterterrorist situations. The second paper by Jake Pauls will review opportunities for changing building designs to impede terrorist ingress and facilitate occupant egress in times of need. The third paper by Alan Hedge will review ways that building ventilation systems can be configured to minimize bioterrorist threats on indoor environments by implementing a concept of ‘smart furniture’. The fourth paper by Eric Neiderman will examine the contributions that human factors can make to improving airport security.

Abstract (sommario):
The priorities in the design of more sustainable buildings are quite dependent on the specific social context. In developing countries, the sustainability concept and priorities in the residential buildings sector are quite different from the ones of the developed countries, since there are still basic needs to answer. Therefore, this research is aimed at contributing to a better understanding of the concept of social sustainability in the residential building sector of the developing countries. A methodology to define and prioritise the social sustainability indicators is proposed and applied in the context of Palestine. The presented methodology is based on the sustainability indicators of international standards, on the most well know building sustainability assessment methods and in the analysis of their application to a specific context. It includes a methodology to prioritise the list of social indicators, by considering the expectations of two groups of building stakeholders: designers and building users. At the end, this research proposes a framework of social aspects to consider in the design of more sustainable residential buildings in West Bank, Palestine that is composed of twenty-one indicators, distributed among six sustainability categories and ranked according to their weight in the overall of sustainability level.

Abstract (sommario):
In the process of granting credit by the bank to the debtor, a careful analysis has been done, but in the implementation there are often many factors that can cause the debtor to become unable to repay the credit received. So as to guarantee repayment of credit given to the debtor, the bank asks for a guarantee from the debtor in the form of property or personal collateral. In accordance with the nature of the collateral, the collateral in the form of land and buildings is generally preferred by banks because the value tends to be stable in the long run. Thus, it is necessary to have a regulation governing the guarantee of assets in the form of land and buildings so that an ease and certainty is obtained for the bank in obtaining repayment of loans given to debtors if in the future the debtor is apparently unable to repay these obligations. It is necessary to create a strong guarantee institution and be able to provide legal certainty for all parties with an interest in providing credit by banks, the government has enacted and enforced it. to impose Mortgage Rights cannot be withdrawn or cannot be terminated by any reason except because it has been implemented or has expired. The provisions are intended so that the encumbrance of the Underwriting Right is actually implemented so as to provide legal certainty for the holder and the giver of the Underwriting Right.

Abstract (sommario):
Based on a newly adopted “Rulebook on the records of identified changes on buildings in Serbia” (2020) that regulates the content, establishment, maintenance and use of records on identified changes on buildings, it is expected that the geodetic-cadastral information system will be extended with these records. The records contain data on determined changes of buildings in relation to the reference epoch of aerial or satellite imagery, namely data on buildings: (1) that are not registered in the real estate cadastre; (2) which are registered in the real estate cadastre, and have been changed in terms of the dimensions in relation to the data registered in the real estate cadastre; (3) which are registered in the real estate cadastre, but are removed on the ground. For this purpose, the LADM-based cadastral data model for Serbia is extended to include records on identified changes on buildings. In the year 2020, Republic Geodetic Authority commenced a new satellite acquisition for the purpose of restoration of official buildings registry, as part of a World Bank project for improving land administration in Serbia. Using this satellite imagery and existing cadastral data, we propose a method based on comparison of object-based and pixel-based image analysis approaches to automatically detect newly built, changed or demolished buildings and import these data into extended cadastral records. Our results, using only VHR images containing only RGB and NIR bands, showed object identification accuracy ranging from 84% to 88%, with kappa statistic from 89% to 96%. The accuracy of obtained results is satisfactory for the purpose of developing a register of changes on buildings to keep cadastral records up to date and to support activities related to legalization of illegal buildings, etc.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This article aims to present the diversity in the rates of fees for advertisements on selected bank buildings located in the right-of-way, as well as the manner of calculating them. The research covered fees, incurred by a selected bank brand, for advertisements placed on all outlets of the bank in the area of the entire country in terms of the location of the buildings, means of establishing fees, rate of the basic fee, as well as costs incurred by the bank for placing advertisements in the right-of-way according to the state at the end of 2014. Currently, one can distinguish a few means of right-of-way occupation for which fees are collected, including: for the purpose of carrying out construction works, locating technical infrastructure equipment or buildings unrelated to the needs of road or traffic management, and for placing advertisements (outdoor advertising). The basic rate of payments for occupying the right-of-way by advertising results directly from the ordinances regarding roads passed by local government units or thematic regulation pertaining to national roads. The maximum basic rate is specified by law. This paper makes it possible to determine the scale of financial burdens incurred by a bank resulting from marking the outlets, as well as the differences in determining and calculating fees for signboards occupying the areas of right-of-ways among the many local road authorities.

Abstract (sommario):
Abstract Achieving energy efficiency is a very important step of applying the concepts of sustainability, this will reduce the financial costs that coming from energy consumption for the purposes of operating HVAC system so this concept will give a great effect on the environment and the economic aspects. Bank buildings are represented of the financial strength of the country, as they have a strong and direct impact on the reality of society and urban reality, and these buildings often consume a large amount of energy for cooling and heating purposes in the hot and dry climate of Iraq, so the research problem is focus on the knowledge deficiency of the importance of the role of technologies of sustainability in advancing the banking work at the design and performance level. Therefore, the aim of research was to find the knowledge aspects of designing the external envelope of the banking building in a sustainable manner that contributes to achieving energy efficiency and reducing the negative impact of banking buildings on the environment, as a result technique of sustainability and technological developments have led to the change and innovation in designing an advanced environment in banking buildings, such as achieving communication in the work environment in addition to providing comfort to the occupants in it, and this will lead to improved performance and production.

Abstract (sommario):
The construction industry has a significant impact on the environment, and green buildings provide an effective means of reducing environmental impact. Green finance can facilitate industrial transformation and upgrading, reduce construction costs, attract investment, and promote green industry development. However, traditional financing models still dominate the financing of green building projects, even if they are not in line with the core principles of green building. To solve this problem, this paper establishes a three-party evolutionary game model, which, based on the assumption of finite rationality, considers three core stakeholders: bank and financial institutions, developers, and consumers. The conditions for evolutionary stable equilibrium are identified through an equilibrium analysis of the strategic behavior of each subject, followed by a replication dynamic analysis. Simulation analysis was used to study the effects of key parameters on cooperative behavior and evolution. The results of the study show that (1) The high initial willingness of bank and financial institutions and consumers has a significant driving effect on the market. (2) When the market willingness is high, the government can steer the market towards the desired goal at relatively low policy costs. (3) With the support of green finance, green buildings can still flourish even if the return is slightly lower than traditional building projects. The results of the study reveal cooperative behavior and its evolutionary patterns, which help stakeholders coordinate their goals and promote the development of the green building industry.
