Abstract The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been used for molecular research to amplify DNA fragments, especially from a small amount of genetic material. PCR has been applied for numerous researches, including for plant molecular identification. A good PCR product is dependent on good amplification of the DNA segment in optimum condition. This research was conducted to optimize the primer combination, and the annealing temperature for DNA barcoding application of Balinese rare medicinal plant (Euchresta horsfieldii (Lesch.) Benn.) collected from Bedugul. COI is a suitable primer to identify unknown species to higher taxa levels and species with high phenotypic plasticity. The range of annealing temperatures was tested to amplify the combination of five COI primers: GWSF and GWSF5 for forwarding primers and GWSR, GWSR3, and GWSR5 for reverse primers. The annealing temperature was 52, 54, 56, 58, 60°C for 30 seconds. The result showed that GWSF-GWSR, GWSF-GWSR5, GWSF5-GWSR, GWSF5-GWSR5, and GWSF5-GWSR3 produced multiple bands, the double band that cannot be cut, multiple bands, faint amplification band for GWSF5-GWSR5 and GWSF5-GWSR3, respectively. Primer combination of GWSF-GWSR3 with an annealing temperature of 52°Cproduced double bands that were available to have proceeded for sequencing. In conclusion, the combination of GWSF-GWSR3 that is annealed at 52°C produced the best amplification band. The primer combinations and conditions can be used for further identification of Purnajiwa collected from Bedugul.

Background: Purnajiwa is one of the medicinal plants in Bali. Species information regarding this plant is still unconfirmed. Currently, this plant is considered rare and endangered. Molecular identification supports authentication at the species level, which will also support conservation efforts. Method: Molecular identification using DNA Barcoding was carried out on purnajiwa from three sampling locations in Bali (Jimbaran, Mambal, and Bedugul) using rbcL primers (rbcLaF and rbcLaR). Data analysis was performed using BLAST with species on GenBank. Pairwise and similarity values ​​were used to measure the three samples' proximity to the Gen Bank species. Result: The phylogenetic tree was constructed with the Maximum Likelihood and Tamura-3-parameter model. The analysis results show a close relationship between the purnajiwa from Jimbaran and Mambal with the species Kopsia arborea (KP095079). Meanwhile, the Purnajiwa from Bedugul showed a difference from the other two purnajiwa and was closely related to Euchresta horsfieldii (U74225). Conclusion: It can be concluded that the Purnajiwa from Jimbaran and Mambal is a species of Kopsia arborea while the Purnajiwa from Bedugul is a species of Euchresta horsfieldii.

Exploring the possibility of using agricultural waste as a substrate for the synthesis of cellulase enzymes for fuel and renewable energy is the main goal of this study, which is in line with the notions of sustainable development and environmental stewardship. The product of delignification of cocoa peel can be used as a substrate for cellulase enzymes producing by yeast isolated from Balinese palm wine. Cellulase enzymes made from yeast from Balinese palm wine can be produced using the delignified cocoa peel as a substrate. This study aims to analyze the cellulase enzyme activity of yeast from Bali's palm wine on delignified cocoa bark substrates. The tests carried out were delignification of cocoa bark (solvent variations: HCl, H2SO4 and NaOH; concentrations: 1, 1.5 and 2 %; biomass 1:15 and 1:20 (w/v)); screening of cellulolytic yeast from Balinese palm wine; molecular identification and morphological characteristics of yeast; and cellulase enzyme activity (variation of yeast isolates and fermentation time of 48, 72 and 96 h). The results of delignification of cocoa shells showed that the use of 1.5 % NaOH solvent with cocoa shell powder biomass of 1:15 (9.59 ± 0.11) significantly differed from the value of reducing sugar content. Based on the screening results of 6 yeast isolates, 3 yeast isolates with the highest cellulolytic index values were selected, namely UNJCC Y-83 (0.29 ± 0.01 mm), UNJCC Y-123 (0.24 ± 0.01 mm) and UNJCC Y-84 (0.23 ± 0.01 mm). For testing cellulase enzyme activity. S. cerevisiae UNJCC Y-83 (4.11 ± 0.41 U/mL); S. cerevisiae UNJCC Y-84 (4.11 ± 0.33 U/mL) and P. manshurica UNJCC Y-123 (4.06 ± 0.12 U/mL) at 96 h of fermentation had significantly different cellulase enzyme activity. The results of identification of yeast rDNA in the D1/D2 region with NL1/NL4 primers obtained the identity of Saccharomyces cerevisiae UNJCC Y-83; Saccharomyces cerevisiae UNJCC Y-84 (99.66 % homology); and Pichia manshurica (100 % homology). Theobroma cocoa rind can be used as a yeast substrate to produce cellulase enzymes for fuel and renewable energy. HIGHLIGHTS Screening of 6 yeast isolates, 3 yeast isolates with the highest cellulolytic index values were selected, namely UNJCC Y-83 (0.29 ± 0.01 mm), UNJCC Y-123 (0.24 ± 0.01 mm) and UNJCC Y-84 (0.23 ± 0.01 mm) for testing molecular identification and cellulase enzyme activity The result of rDNA sequence analysis in the D1/D2 region showed that the yeast isolates UNJCC Y-83 and UNJCC Y-84 had a homology level of 99.66 % as Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a bootstrap value of 92 %. Curling symptom was found in pumpkin plants in Bali, and the PCR detection result using Begomovirus universal primers indicated Begomovirus infection. Further research was conducted to determine the distribution, molecular character of SLCV, and yield loss of the pumpkins. Sampling was carried out at pumpkin plantations in 9 districts in Bali. Detection and identification were carried out using PCR method, followed by cloning and DNA sequencing. DNA band with the measurement of 900 bp was successfully amplified from several pumpkin samples from Denpasar, Gianyar, and Buleleng. Homology analysis of nucleotide sequences using the database in GenBank of SLCV of Balinese isolates showed the highest homology and kinship of 97.3-98.4% and 98.4-99.3% respectively with East Timor isolates from pumpkin plants. The phylogeny analysis showed that SLCV Indonesian isolates were in the same group as Asian isolates. The result of this study is the first report on infection and molecular characterization of SLCV in pumpkin plants in Indonesia. The yield loss caused by curling disease on individual pumpkin plants was 56.3%, and the disease caused a decrease in the quality of harvest fruits. Yield loss estimation caused by the disease in fields with different levels of disease intensity ranged from 10.02 to 25.83%. It was equal to yield loss ranging from IDR 878,400.00 to IDR 10,826,400.00 depending on the disease intensity. It is found that the correlation between curling disease severity and yield loss was high.

This study uses a qualitative case study approach, which is a study that aims to describe a condition that is happening in the real world. The research procedure adopted the case study research procedure by Yin which includes (1) design the case study protocol; (2) Conduct the case study; (3) Analyze case study evidence: and (4) Develop conclusions, recommendations, and implications based on the evidence. The subjects of this study were elementary school teachers and students, and school documents were examined related to the maintenance of Balinese culture and language through local content carried out in schools. The data collection technique was carried out by structured interviews using interview guidelines related to maintaining Balinese language culture and Balinese local content. Observations were made with a participatory observation approach, and documentation studies were carried out by collecting documents related to the maintenance of Balinese culture and Balinese language in schools. Qualitative data analysis techniques began with grouping data based on primary data sources and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the application of local content in elementary schools is one of the contents that can be used in maintaining, preserving and preserving the Balinese language culture in schools. The results of surveys, observations and interviews at SD Buleleng indicate that the maintenance of Balinese culture and language has many weaknesses, seen from the use of local languages that are not used in communication and Balinese culture which is fading due to the influence of other cultures. This can be seen in the language used in schools not using Balinese in daily communication in the sense that many do not understand the meaning of the Balinese language used because SOR is Singgih Bahasa. The results of study have and important implication to the teaching learning contents of Balinese language in elementary school in Bali, Indoensia.

This study aimed at developing a model of learning Balinese vocabularies by implementing Natural Semantic Meta-language (NSM) and semantics field theory. This finding was expected to establish a natural atmosphere of Balinese learning based on semantics primes. Semantics primes development on the basis of semantic field can overcome abstractness meaning of certain words. To prove the truth of the theory construction, the researcher modified a research and development which refers to Borg and Gell models. Data were collected before and after the development of model with certain indicators: the rapid in understanding words meaning, skill in using the word in natural sentence structure, and students’ learning creativity. Significance was measured by using t-test formula for correlated samples. Based on statistical analysis, it was proved that the implementation of NSM and semantic field theory was very effective (significant) in learning Balinese vocabularies on students grade 1, 2, and 3. Effectiveness of learning was achieved because the materials adhering to the natural principle of language acquisition and the availability of direct meaning comparison between words were intuitively related. Direct comparison could overcome the cognitive limitations of students grade 1, 2, and 3 in primary school.

An existential clause is a clause that shows a proposition about the existence or an event. This paper aims to describe the structure of existential clauses, the types of existential clauses, and the constraints of noun phrases that fill the existence elements in Balinese. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data used are primary data taken from five Balinese language teachers. The Balinese language teachers elicited the data made by the first teacher. Written data from Balinese stories are also used to assist the oral data. The data analysis technique chosen is comparison, omission, and replacement. Some research results are found in this paper. The core structure of Balinese existential clauses is verb ada + existence, and the extended structure of Balinese existential clauses is verb ada + existence + extension. There are two types of existential clauses in Balinese: bare and extended existential clauses. The definiteness of a noun phrase filling the existence element determines the choice of existential or non-existential clauses. This paper is helpful as a reference for Balinese grammar, which concerns the existential clauses of Balinese.

The objective of this study is to analyse the affectivity of satua (Balinese folklore)-based character education in the instructions of civic education in primary schools in Buleleng Regency, Bali. This study used the experimental design in testing the affectivity of folklore-based instructions in the competency and character of primary school students. The instruments used to collect data in this study were questionnaires, test of learning outcomes, score inventory and self-evaluation. The questionnaire was designed to find out the feasibility of folklore-based instructions. The test on learning outcomes was used to find out their scores. The data analysis used the multivariate analysis of variance. The results of the study indicated that a) learning using Balinese folklore is better than conventional learning in students’ civic knowledge, b) learning using Balinese folklore is better than conventional learning in students’ attitude and c) learning using Balinese folklore is better than conventional learning in students’ skills. The existence of local languages in Indonesia, including Balinese language is often related to marginalization issue. Some previous research revealed that Balinese language is rarely used in public spaces. The local government implements Governor Regulation Number 80 of 2018 to officially protect the language, including its existence in public spaces. This research explores the existence of Balinese language and script on the lingual street signs in Singaraja, North Bali. Further, the distribution of the lingual street signs is also investigated to reveal the government's primary and secondary target areas in language protection. The subjects of the study are 151 street signs that are placed by the department of transportation of Buleleng regency. The data are obtained through photograph taking and observation. The research reveals that the presence of Indonesian language marginalizes Balinese language. The regulation only successfully improves the use of Balinese script instead of the use of Balinese language. In terms of the sign distribution, the government focuses on signs with Balinese script at the center of the town due to the intense language contact in the area. AbstrakKeberadaan bahasa daerah di Indonesia, termasuk bahasa Bali sering dihubungkan dengan isu marginalisasi. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya mengungkapkan bahwa bahasa Bali jarang digunakan di ruang publik. Pemerintah daerah Bali telah menerapkan Peraturan Gubernur Nomor 80 Tahun 2018 untuk secara resmi melindungi bahasa dan aksara Bali, termasuk keberadaannya di ruang publik. Sehubungan dengan itu, penelitian ini menggali keberadaan bahasa dan aksara Bali pada rambu-rambu jalan lingual di Singaraja, Bali Utara. Selanjutnya, sebaran rambu-rambu jalan lingual juga diselidiki untuk mengungkap wilayah sasaran primer dan sekunder pemerintah dalam perlindungan bahasa Bali. Subyek penelitian adalah 151 rambu jalan yang dipasang oleh Dinas Perhubungan Kabupaten Buleleng. Data diperoleh melalui pengambilan foto dan observasi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa bahasa Bali terpinggirkan dengan kehadiran bahasa Indonesia. Peraturan gubernur tersebut hanya berhasil meningkatkan penggunaan aksara Bali ketimbang penggunaan bahasa Bali. Dalam hal distribusi tanda, pemerintah memfokuskan penggunaan tanda dengan aksara Bali di pusat kota karena kontak bahasa yang intens terjadi di daerah tersebut.

This study aims to analyze the simultaneously and partially effect of age, reconciliation of gender roles, work ethic of Balinese women, husband's income and education on the decision of Balinese women to enter the labor market in West Denpasar District. Analyze the role of education in moderating effect of husband's income and to find out the variables that have a dominant effect on the decision of Balinese women to enter the job market in West Denpasar District. This research design uses quantitative methods with a total sample of 100 married women. This study uses primary data collected through observation, structured interviews and indepth interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out by logistic regression analysis, moderation, and dominant test. The results showed that age, gender role reconciliation, Balinese women's work ethic, husband's income and education simultaneously had a significant effect on the chances of Balinese women's deciding to enter the labor market. Partially, age, reconciliation of gender roles, Balinese women's work ethic, and education have a positive and significant effect on the chances of Balinese women's deciding to enter the labor market while, husband's income has no negative or insignificant effect of Balinese women's deciding to enter the labor market. The level of education as a moderating variable weakens the effect of husband's income on the chances of Balinese women's deciding to enter the labor market. Education has a dominant effect on the chances of Balinese women's deciding to enter the labor market.

<p class="p2">Balinese language has some unique color nomenclatures. How those colors are categorized into different nomenclatures becomes the first concern of this study. Then, why those nomenclatures are linguistically unique and exist culturally in different ways is the second question. NSM (Natural Semantic Metalanguage) is used both in theory and method. Since some Balinese terms are inexplicable through semantic primes of the NSM, linguistic relativity theory is used to dig descriptive meanings and concepts of those color nomenclatures in Balinese cultural linguistic realm. The study finds that there are four color nomenclatures in Balinese language, and those nomenclatures are different mainly because of religious and historical backgrounds.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

Abstrak Paribasa Bali adalah bahasa rinengga, yang dipakai sebagai alat untuk memperindah kata-kata dan pada saat berbicara atau melawak. Bahasa rinengga ini juga dapat dipakai sarana untuk mengeluarkan isi hati atau pikiran dengan perbandingan, sindiran mengenai keadaan dan tingkah laku manusia. Sementara yang dipakai untuk membandingkan adalah benda atau binatang. Beberapa istilah yang digunakan untuk menyebut peribahasa dalam bahasa Bali seperti: basita paribasa, basita parihasa, paribahasa Bali, dan pralambang bahasa Bali. Sedangkan dalam karya sastra, ungkapan tradisi Bali yang kemudian dikenal dengan Paribasa Bali merupakan salah satu aspek dari kesenian Bali yang mengadung nilai-nilai luhur serta berpengaruh bagi pandangan masyarakat penuturnya. Sumber data penelitian ini terdiri atas sumber data primer dan sumber data skunder. Sumber data primer diperoleh dari sejumlah penutur asli yang digunakan sebagai informan. Sumber data skunder diperoleh dari sumber data yang sudah ada, terutama sumber-sumber kajian pustaka sebagai perbandingan.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kepustakaan yakni mengumpulkan beberapa sumber yang terkait dengan papindan bahasa Bali. Metode ini dibantu sourcesdalam bahasa Bali. Papindan merupakan salah satu bentuk dari paribasa Bali. Ditinjau dari segi fungsi, papindan berguna dalam kehidupan berbahasa bagi masyarakat Bali. Di samping ditinjau dari segi bentuk dan fungsi, papindan juga dapat dikatakan mempunyai ciri-ciri yang spesifik. Abstract Paribasa Bali is a rinengga language, used as a tool beautify words in general conversation as well as in jest. Rinengga is also used as a means to realize one’s heart’s content or thoughts for comparison, as well as express satire concerning the state and the behavior of mankind. At the same time, it is used to compare objects and animals. A number of terms are used to describe proverbs in Balinese language, such as: basita paribasa, basita parihasa, paribasa bali, and pralambang bahasa bali. Within literature, tradisional Balinese phrases, known as Paribasa Bali, make up one aspect of Balinese art containing noble values, which influence the view of society’s speakers.tive speakers as informant.The secondary data sources are taken from the existing data sources, especially in literature review sources as comparison. The data collection is done from library method which is collecting several sources related to Balinese papindan.This method is helped bynote taking techniques which is collecting data belonging to the form and fuction of papindan in Balinese. The data source of this research consists of primary data sources and secondary data sources are taken from the numbers of na. Papindan constitutes a forms of Balinese proverb. Reviewed from a functional perspective, papindan is useful within the speaking life of Balinese society. Apart from being reviewed from a structural and functional perspective, papindan can also be said to have specific characteristics.

This study examines the use of Balinese language by ethnic Balinese teenagers based on the language use domains that have been determined by the author, and also the factors that influence the use of Balinese language by ethnic Balinese teenagers in the village of Dangin Puri, East Denpasar district, Denpasar City. The method used in this research is qualitative and quantitative method. This research data in the form of primary data taken from the field in the form of the use of the language of Bali by teenagers, and secondary data in the form of writing data obtained from the questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the use of Balinese language by ethnic Balinese teenagers in the village of Dangin Puri based on four domains that have been determined that the family, the neighborhood, the domain of education, and the domain of religion are still quite high. Factors influencing the use of Balinese language by ethnic Balinese teenagers are caused by internal factors that include self-factor, interaction factor in the family, and factor interaction with the environment and friends, then external factors that influence the condition of bilingual speakers, the factors of globalization, educational factors, and Indonesian factors.

This study aims to determine women's role and involvement in the development of sustainable tourism in Bali and to know how Balinese women are the main drivers of cultural and environmental preservation in Bali. The study uses a qualitative method of literature review. The research stage was carried out by collecting literature sources, both primary and secondary. Balinese women have a vital role in the preservation of culture and the environment in Bali. It can be concluded that Balinese women are the drivers of sustainable tourism in several tourism sectors, such as culinary tourism, cultural tourism, and environmental conservation. Balinese women are pioneers in the development of culinary tourism, especially traditional culinary in Bali but are not given many chance to participate in development planning actively. Balinese women are still collided by the patriarchal hegemony in the local traditional culture.

Media pembelajaran yang menyangkut budaya pada bahasa yang dipelajari juga dapat membantu peserta didik meningkatkan pemahaman, menyajikan data dengan menarik dan terpercaya, serta memudahkan penafsiran dan memadatkan informasi, seperti yang ada dalam budaya Bali yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam pengajaran BIPA untuk Tingkat Pemula. Dengan menerapkan metode studi pustaka yang berlandaskan pada beberapa sumber dan pengetahuan penulis tentang budaya Bali, tulisan ini dapat dipaparkan dengan metode naturalistik karena hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan masalah budaya dilakukan pada kondisi alamiah (natural setting). Hasil yang diperoleh, yaitu budaya Bali sebagai media pembelajaran BIPA untuk pemelajar Tingkat Pemula, khususnya bagi pemelajar yang sedang belajar di Bali sangat menarik untuk disampaikan sebagai media penunjang pembelajaran utama dan sebagai motivasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memahami materi yang sedang dipelajari oleh pemelajar. Pengenalan etika berbicara dalam bentuk sapaan, mengucapkan salam dengan gestur yang tepat, dan mengungkapkan hal-hal yang terkait dengan aktivitas adat dan keagamaan yang masih sangat kental dalam budaya Bali sangat perlu dan menarik untuk diketahui oleh pemelajar. By applying the literature study method which is based on several sources and the author’s knowledge about Balinese culture, this paper can be presented with naturalistic methods because matters relating to cultural issues are carried out in natural settings. The results obtained that the Balinese culture as BIPA learning media for Beginner Level students, especially for students who are studying in Bali is very interesting to be conveyed as a primary learning support medium and as a motivation to improve the ability to understand what is being learned by students. The introduction of ethics speaks in the form of greetings, says greetings with appropriate gestures, and expresses matters related to traditional and religious activities that are still very thick in Balinese culture. This study aims to understand and determine the distribution arrangements for arak as a traditional Balinese drink. The research method uses a normative legal research type, the type of approach uses a statutory approach and a case approach. The legal materials used are sourced from primary legal materials in the form of related legislation, while other sources are from literature, journals and internet media. The technique of collecting legal materials uses document study techniques and is processed in a qualitative descriptive way. The findings of the research, specifically the regulation of the distribution of arak as a traditional Balinese drink, are regulated in the Governor of Bali Province Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning the Governance of Balinese Fermentation and Distillation Drinks as a form of governance for the distribution of Balinese arak. The legality of distribution of arak as a traditional Balinese drink is carried out by producers through distributors, then carried out by sub-distributors and distributed to direct sellers.

Building communities is one way to limit inequality in the global development process. In Indonesia, that principle can best be illustrated in the Hindu Balinese compound. But does discrimination against women, especially those of lower class and caste, fundamentally undermine the community? Feminists contend so, but what is the nature of the pressure on Balinese women? Why is this experienced? How could this discrimination be resolved? Drawing on a wider intersectional feminism, primary data from 72 people and thematic analysis, it seems both the reproductive and property rights of Balinese women are constrained. But ordinary Balinese women, activists, and intellectuals do not share the Western feminist case of dismantling communities for individual human rights. Instead, Balinese people largely advocate Hindu community alternatives, at the heart of which is strengthening the institution of ‘nyentana’. This alternative helps to decolonize “gender,” and reproductive justice, while putting the case for studying social economics a bit more in development studies.

Bali has various types of traditional dances with their distinctive functions and clothing depending on the dance's function, story, and movement. UNESCO recorded 9 Balinese dances from every district in Bali. But along with the times, one of the local wisdom in the form of Balinese dance is starting to become unattractive to the younger generation. The purpose of the research is to create a Balinese dance mobile application, so that it can preserve local wisdom of dance and dance clothing and the application can be a medium of information for the younger generation while keeping abreast of technological developments. This study uses primary and secondary data collection methods: interviews, observation, documentation, and literature study. The results of the study are in the form of an android-based application that can be downloaded for users and can be used by the younger generation to recognize and know the history of Balinese dance, classification of Balinese dance, types of dances, functions, clothing used, accompaniment instruments, and staging time for every detail of 9 types of Balinese dances and the fashion used. This application has gone through the process of testing the system's functional requirements validation with valid status.

Along with the times, Balinese traditional architecture is increasingly being eroded by modern architectural art and also by the occurrence of damages. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the protection of traditional architectural buildings in the modern Balinese era and problems related to the preservation of traditional architecture in the modern Balinese era. This research adopts the doctrinal research and uses primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. These legal materials were collected using a card system with a statute approach, a fact approach, and an analytical conceptual approach. Findings of the study show that: first, according to national law, Balinese traditional architecture is a cultural heritage and is regulated in Indonesian Law Number 5 of 1992 concerning Cultural Heritage Objects. Meanwhile, in the Province of Bali, Balinese traditional architecture is regulated in the Regional Regulation of the Province of Bali Number 5 of 2005 concerning Architectural Requirements for Buildings; secondly, one of the ways taken by the Government of Bali Province to preserve Balinese traditional architecture is to apply it to buildings. Balinese architecture, besides being used in the physical form of buildings, is also applied to the design of fences and gates along the main roads and streets in the environment. Balinese architecture is also required to be applied to government-owned houses or buildings, and official residences. Abstrak Arsitektur tradisional Bali seiring perkembangan jaman semakin tergerus oleh seni arsitektur modern dan juga terjadinya kerusakan-kerusakan. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah menganalisis perlindungan bangunan arsitektur tradisional di era Bali modern dan permasalahan terkait pelestarian arsitektur tradisional di era Bali modern. Penelitian ini merupakan Doctrinal Research dengan menggunakan bahan hukum primer, sekunder dan tersier. Teknik pengumpulan bahan hukum dilakukan dengan sistem kartu dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan, pendekatan fakta, dan pendekatan analisis konseptual. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: Pertama, Secara hukum nasional, arsitektur tradisional Bali merupakan salah satu cagar budaya dan diatur di dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 5 Tahun 1992 tentang Benda Cagar Budaya. Sedangkan di Provinsi Bali, arsitektur tradisional Bali telah diatur di dalam Peraturan Daerah Provinsi Bali Nomor 5 Tahun 2005 tentang Persyaratan Arsitektur Bangunan Gedung; kedua, Salah satu cara yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Provinsi Bali untuk pelestarian arsitektur tradisional Bali adalah dengan mengaplikasikannya pada bangunan gedung. Arsitektur Bali selain digunakan dalam bentuk fisik dari bangunan gedung, juga diberlakukan untuk desain pagar dan gerbang disepanjang jalan raya dan jalan lingkungan. Arsitektur Bali juga diwajibkan untuk digunakan terhadap bangunan atau gedung milik pemerintah, rumah dinas maupun rumah jabatan.

The research is aimed at finding out how the influence of hedonism behavior on Balinese culture and buying interest through Balinese culture. The data used in this study are primary data by distributing questionnaires to 100 MSME consumers in Bali. The data analysis technique used is path analysis (path analysis) with SmartPLS software version 3.0.m3. The results of the t-test in this study indicate that the hedonism behavior variable has a significant effect on Balinese cultural culture with t-statistic of 0.809 > t-table 1.97 and the value of p-values is 0.000 > 0.05. The effect of hedonism behavior on buying interest is positive and significant with t statistic value of 1.037 t-value of table 1.97 and p-value of values of 0.000 < 0.05. While the influence of Balinese cultural variables on buying interest is not significant it is so that true Balinese cultural variables as full mediating variables. The adjusted R-Square value for Balinese cultural variables only explained 74.2% of the hedonism behavior variable. The construct of buying interest is only explained at 69.7% of the Balinese cultural construct. The calculation results Q Square can be seen that the value of 0.798 is higher than 0 which means that the model has a good predictive value of relevance.

Providing an introduction to vocabulary in early childhood is very effectively done by providing storytelling activities. Mesatua Bali is a tradition of telling stories from the Balinese people that is carried out by parents to their children before the child goes to sleep. This almost lost tradition was adopted by several PAUD institutions as storytelling activities at school. The problems to be solved in this research are; Finding the method used by the teacher in Balinese mesatua activities and analyzing the vocabulary used in Balinese satua. The purpose of this study was to explore teacher methods in Balinese mesatua activities. Research using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Sources of data are teachers and students of Primary Widya Pasraman Gurukula. Data collection is done by observation and interviews. Data analysis uses the theory of humanism, bi-haviorism and 4 levels of Balinese language concepts. (alus, mider, andap, kasar). The results of this study indicate that the method used by the teacher is the demonstration method and the question and answer method. Based on a qualitative analysis of Balinese mesatua activities, it shows 23 new vocabulary words that can be memorized by children from the three units brought by the teacher.

The intricate tapestry of Balinese identity is deeply intertwined with Hinduism, shaping a hierarchical societal structure organized around religious affiliations, castes, and traditional roles. While historically rigid, contemporary Balinese society exhibits a more flexible approach to identity, although Hindu influence remains pervasive. Historical shifts, including Dutch Colonization, Indonesia's independence and subsequent governance policies of the New Order, have further impacted Balinese identity, leading to major changes in Balinese social and political structures, furthermore economic factors, particularly tourism, have played a significant role, both amplifying cultural expression and triggering challenges such as over-tourism and urbanization, with implications for traditional livelihoods and environmental sustainability, The dichotomy of Sekala (perceivable) and Niskala (sacred) encapsulates the dual nature of Balinese culture, with interactions tailored differently for internal and external audiences. This study explores the impact of tourism and government policy on Balinese culture and identity, considering the historical background and economic significance of the island. Tourism being the primary industry, has caused Bali to experienced significant cultural and demographic shifts over the year, the influx of tourism has shaped Balinese society, economy, and cultural practices. Drawing on historical perspectives, writing, as well as contemporary observations the researcher seeks to use literature reviews, participant observations as well as interviews, by integrating firsthand perspectives with existing scholarship, the author aims to view, analyse and understand the impacts of Tourism and a post-colonial government has had and continues enrich and challenge Balinese culture and identity as well for this study to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of this complex phenomenon and inform future research and policymaking in the field.

Lontar is a palm-leaf or lontar-based manuscript containing a Balinese script passed down from generation to generation. Lontar is derived from cellulose-rich palm leaf, which can serve as a substrate for the growth of fungi producing cellulase enzymes. Nevertheless, the activity of these fungi could potentially damage the lontar itself. The objective of this study is to identify the fungi that contaminated the Balinese lontar. The fungus was isolated from several Lontar storage areas in Balinese society using swabs. In addition, the fungus was cultivated on PDA media prior to isolation and identification. Seven lontar-degrading fungus isolates, including Penicillium restricum, Aspergillus fumigatus, Mucor racemosus, Candida krusei, A. niger, Fusarium sp., and Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, have been identified as the primary causes of damage to the Balinese lontar. Of these, P. restricum, A. fumigatus, M. racemosus, and A. niger were frequently found fungi at all sampling sites

This study aims to reveal the sustainability of Balinese traditional residential architectural practices which are based on the provisions of traditional ethnic Balinese social stratification and refers to the capital ownership in Generative Structural Theory from Pierre Bourdieu (economic, cultural, social and symbolic). At present, there are dynamics ownership and capital conversion in the traditional social strata which affect the sustainability of traditional residential architecture practices. The traditional Balinese residential architecture in this study is understood to be the spatial layout and traditional residential buildings of the Middle Bali era. Its sustainability today is seen from the concept of capital in the perspective of Bourdieu’s theory. The basic assumption of Bourdieu’s theory is basically that humans are in the field of social struggle to emerge victorious by competing with one another. This study is a qualitative research with interpretative descriptive method. Primary data were obtained from selected informants (purposive) and from field observations, as well as secondary data from the literature. The study findings show that traditional residential architecture practices in the Middle Bali era were strongly influenced by capital ownership (economic, cultural, social, and symbolic) with various forms of conversion to traditional Balinese aristocratic (triwangsa). Development at this time has opened the opportunity to control various capital for ordinary community (jabawangsa), so that the realm of Balinese traditional housing becomes a medium of struggle as well as a symbol of success in social struggle. On the other hand, the contestation of Balinese traditional residential architectural practices is a sustainability in the arena of social struggle within Balinese society today.

Balinese and English have different grammatical structure and English does not have speech level like Balinese. The condition may cause both linguistic and cultural shifts to make the translation equivalent. This difference becomes a challenge for translators in finding the closest natural equivalent of Balinese terms of address in English or vice versa. This study analyzed types of shifts in translation occurred in the translation of the terms of address from Balinese into English in puppet shadow script ‘Lubdaka’. This study belonged to qualitative study approach and used descriptive method. The primary data is the translation of terms of address from Balinese into English directly taken from puppet shadow script and its translation into English of the Lubdaka story in the book The Invisible Mirror of Siwaratri Kalpa (2008). Shifts in translation in the data occurred in grammatical (transposition) and in point of view (modulation). There are four types of shifts that belong to the grammatical: structure shift, class shift, unit shift, and intra-system shift. Meanwhile, there are three types of shifts found that belongs to the shift in point of view: lexical dense shift, lexical loose shift, and emphasizing on 2nd person.

Balinese literature is one of the cultural heritages of Bali that still exists and is preserved to this day. Balinese literature consists of two parts: traditional Balinese literature and modern Balinese literature. The short story Arca Batu is a type of modern Balinese literature. This short story contains good advice or messages for life. The purpose of this study was to describe the structure and mandate of the short story Arca Batu by IGG Djelantik Santha. This study uses a qualitative method with primary data obtained from the short story Arca Batu. Data analysis using data reduction data, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found that the Arca Batu short story has an even structure, the Arca Batu short storyline uses a forward plot, the characters are divided into three, namely the main character, the supporting character, the secondary character, has three settings, namely place, time, and context. The short story of the Stone Arca with the theme of the pitutur perama. The message of Arca Batu hopes that readers will always help and love their families and other communities. This short story is written in basa kapara and has a religious message, a moral message, and a social message.

A lot of the views of practitioners outside of Bali looked at the ceremony as one of the causes of poverty. It is seen from the portion of income that must be spent for various ceremonies to be performed by the Balinese Hindu community. This study aimed to answer the fundamental question, whether it is the customs and cultures led to affect Hindu community income in Bali? The data used is primary data from 350 Hindu households listed as poor households in Bali using depth interview survey method. Religion can play a role in overcoming poverty. Religion is not only a moral conscience that reminds the community will give generously to the poor but also to see the poor as human beings. The opinion says that the religious activities and custom made by Balinese Hindu communities causes increased poverty seems supported by the magnitude of the data portion of the expenditures for this activity. In Balinese Hindu communities, family income will be issued again and consumption expenditure shaped yajna. The analysis shows if traditional rituals and Balinese Hindu religious tend to have positive influence, good for people's income and the level of happiness. Therefore, it is not appropriate if the customs and religion are said to have made the Balinese Hindu community becomes poorer. This result also shows a shift in the understanding of religion in Balinese Hindu community. Religiosity someone then be interpreted by the implementation of the ritual in the form of upakara (yadnya) and the implementation of ethics in public life (susila).

The background of this research describes the process of arrival of Balinese transmigrants in Sumber Makmur Village, Satui District, Tanah Bumbu Regency along with their social and religious life. The research was made with the aim of knowing how the life of the Balinese transmigrant community in Sumber Makmur Village. The method used in this research is the historical method, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Primary sources are obtained directly from sources about the object under study. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Secondary sources are obtained from literature studies, in the form of useful notes with the object of research. The results of field research, it shows that since the Balinese came to Sumber Makmur Village in 1983, the development of Balinese society at that time was still in the construction stage starting from establishing settlements, to buildings of worship (temples). In 2000, the buildings owned by residents were better. Their life is relatively harmonious, although there are slight adjustments because it is not completely the same as on the island of Bali which is thick with Hindu culture. However, this did not change their previous culture and beliefs. The results of this study indicate that the life of the Balinese transmigrants in Sumber Makmur Village is running well and there is no conflict, so that their lives as migrants remain harmonious.

BACKGROUND: Musical artwork using Balinese flutes made from bamboo (timing buluh) by Agus Teja Sentosa, S.Sn is a combination of music played with flute as the main instrument which contains certain components resembling music therapy such as in western classical music by Antonio Lucio Vivaldi. AIM: This study aims to determine the improvement of cognitive function and increase in serum dopamine in the elderly after listening to music with Balinese flute as the main instrument. METHOD: The current study allocated 18 subjects in the control group listened to western classical music by Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, while 18 subjects in the intervention group listened to western classical music and music from Balinese flute as the main instrument by Agus Teja Sentosa, S.Sn. MoCA-Ina assessment and examination of serum dopamine levels were carried out initially and 21 days after listening to music intervention. RESULTS: The mean increase in cognitive function score was higher in the intervention group (5.22; p < 0.001) than in the control group (4.67; p < 0.001), this increase was not statistically significant with a value of p = 0.562 (p > 0.005). The mean increase in dopamine levels in the control group (3.60) was greater than in the treatment group (3.56), but the mean increase was not statistically significant (p = 0.085). CONCLUSION: There was a significant relationship between listening to the main instrumental Balinese flute music and the improvement of cognitive function, especially in the memory domain in all study subjects, but the mean increase in cognitive function and serum dopamine level did not reach statistical significance.

Today’s fashion business is concerned about the environmentally unfriendly or ecologically unfavorable problem of textile industry waste. It is well recognized that dyes have hazardous effects on living organisms, and industrial textile waste in general can be in the form of effluents (liquid waste) including dye residual substances. Because it contaminates the water, textile dye waste is particularly unfavorable to the environment. Based on this, researchers design a textile using the Hapazome dyeing technique, which is an eco-friendly method of dying. This method falls under the category of eco-printing or natural printing. Hapazome technical art is one of the Japanese art which means leaf-dye. By hitting the leaf’s top surface against a piece of fabric, researchers apply Hapazome technique which can create a copy of the leaf’s motif form on fabric. The motifs designed by researchers in the creation of textiles were chosen from one of Balinese cultures, that is, Balinese script. The choice of Balinese script as the primary theme for creating textile designs attempts to demonstrate one of Balinese local identities. Thus, the nuances and characteristics of the local Balinese are built into the fabrics that researchers created. Using the approach of art creation, research is done on the art of eco-printing Hapazome on textiles as the antithesis of environmentally unfriendly textile dyestuff. The method of art creation is a way of systematically putting a work of art into real.

The concept of “silent letters” relates to graphic symbols that are not pronounced or that do not have mapping with a specific linguistic unit. In the context of processing the mapping of sequences of linguistic units to writing, this concept often results in ambiguity. The Balinese script, which refers to a silent letter, appears in a basic shape || adeg adeg. Scholars of Balinese script define adeg adeg as a process to eliminate characters (Akshara’s), resulting in consonants without inherent vowels. This explanation is very metaphorical, ambiguous, and not based on adequate terms to describe graphetic and graphematic features that are related to mappings between graphic unit sequences and linguistic unit sequences. Balinese script || adeg adeg as primary data comes from the 16.162 lemma in the Balinese dictionary - Indonesian with Latin and Balinese script. Adeg adeg is analyzed both graphically and graphematically to identify its characteristics, with the stages of analysis adapted from the Multimodular Model of Writing System proposed by Meletis (2018). Graphetic analysis shows that the adeg adeg is identified as basic shapes || with three salient graphetic features: -recodability, -paired variants, and +additive. Graphematically, adeg-adeg is defined as a grapheme <> with the following features: +lexical distinctiveness, +linguistic value, and +minimality. The clarity of graphetic and graphematic characteristics significantly contributes to a more comprehensive and transparent cognitive-linguistic mechanism depiction, especially in deciphering writing systems based on Akshara’s highly complex characteristics.

Background: As a Hindu-majority province in Indonesia, Bali presents a unique and distinctive culture. Patrilocal (purusa) marriage and patrilineal inheritance as a continuation of the patriarchal system puts a man in the key role as a family successor. Having a son is a priority for a married couple in Balinese society. As a consequence, Balinese women experience several constraints related to their economic productive, reproductive, and adat (ritual) roles. When a family does not have a male heir, their daughter is pressed to find a spouse willing to accept sentana (matrilocal) marriage. This secondary form of marriage brings another complication for Balinese-Hindu women and does not necessarily relieve their submissive position. This research analyzes Balinese-Hindu women’s perspectives on their marriage experiences and fertility decisions. Methods: The data was collected in two areas representing rural (Banjar Tumbakasa in Gianyar) and urban (Banjar Biaung in Denpasar) locations in Bali Province, Indonesia from November 2019 to February 2020. Primary data was based on in-depth interviews of six rural and six urban married Balinese-Hindu women. Results: This qualitative inquiry into Balinese women's experience of the marriage system and fertility options in urban and rural Bali revealed varying degrees of social expectation to provide male descendants for their families. At the same time, economic burdens still haunt them in this development era, and have conflicting implications for family size. Their stories of purusa (patrilocal) and sentana (matrilocal) marriage were complex, being strongly associated with customary law (adat) in traditional society. Paradoxically, however, it was rural women in the study sample who disproportionately opted for the sentana arrangement and limitation of family size. Conclusions: This study explores women's fertility aspirations, notably regarding son precedence. It problematizes the sentana marriage alternative as a solution to lighten the expectations and burdens affecting women.

This study examines forms of feudalistic ideological hegemony and character resistance against them in literary works set against Balinese sociocultural. This research has a theoretical contribution to the development of science especially about sociological discourse in literature. This study uses a critical descriptive qualitative research design that moves from a functional approach to literary works with Balinese sociocultural background. The primary data sources in this study were the novels of Tarian Bumi (2007) by Oka Rusmini, Incest (2008) by I Wayan Artika, and short story Ketika Kentongan Dipukul di Bale Banjar (1969) by Rasta Sindhu. The study concludes that the feudalistic ideological hegemony in Balinese sociocultural literary works are represented by customary matters of adat and the caste system. The characters resistance against them are carried out in various ways ranging from being strong, independent, showing mimicry attitude; masculinity and sexual disorientation, and being reactionary.

Everyone always expects health, and this is one of the indications that individuals have good well-being. Treatment is one of the efforts to be able to restore individual health. There are two types of treatment, namely medical and traditional treatment. Balinese people do not only medical treatment but also traditional treatment known as Balian treatment. The study aimed to determine the process of health-seeking behavior of Balinese people who switch from medical treatment to Balian treatment. The research method is descriptive qualitative, using five respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that the causes of individuals who switch medical treatment to Balian treatment in Bali are dissatisfaction with the results of medical treatment, the influence of significant others, individual beliefs and perceptions of Balian practices, and cultural traditions. The primary purpose of Balinese people switching from medical treatment to Balian treatment is to get healing as a unique effort to achieve well-being.

This research aims at examining the implications of culture in international relations with regard to the contemporary political economy by analyzing Indonesian strategies in introducing the Balinese Endek woven creative industry at the 2022 G20 Summit. In this context, cultural diplomacy theory, which includes the concept of soft power, and the creative economy was adopted. Primary data was obtained through interviews conducted with representatives from the Department of Culture of Bali Province, as well as artisans specializing in the craft of Catri Endek woven using qualitative methods. Meanwhile, secondary data was collected through related literature and official government websites. The appearance of Balinese Endek woven at the G20 Summit could be studied through three paradigms, namely social, political, and economic dimensions. The socio-political paradigm of national interests was supported by soft power by introducing Balinese Endek woven as part of Indonesian culture by targeting the public. From an economic perspective, cooperation and the Indonesian economy could be increased.

The arrival of foreign cultures due to globalization will be able to fade the culture of local communities if there is no selection process. Selection process can be done if a nation has a strong character foundation The 2013 curriculum as a reference for education in Indonesia has been emphasizing eighteen characters derived from local wisdom that need to be integrated in the teaching and learning process. The current study intended to explore the believe of primary school teachers on integrating Balinese local value called Tri Hita Karana in teaching character education. This study was a survey study followed by 94 elementary school teachers. The results show that elementary school teachers in Buleleng, Bali are aware of the significances of inserting the values of Tri Hita Karana in the learning process, they believe that the Tri Hita Karana concept is very much in accordance with the values of character education, and the integration of Tri Hita Karana values into the teaching and learning process will strengthen the students’ character and national identity.

This article examines the concept of Negen Dadua marriage in Bali, a unique form of marriage recognized within Balinese Customary Law. This concept has emerged as a solution to inheritance and lineage issues, particularly in families without male children. The research method employed is normative-conceptual, utilizing primary and secondary legal sources. The analysis reveals that Negen Dadua marriage, recognized under national and Balinese customary law, accords both husband and wife the status of purusa, allowing them to maintain responsibilities and rights within their respective families. This study finds that Negen Dadua marriage not only complies with Balinese Customary Law and Hindu religion but also reflects a shift towards gender equality. It offers a solution to the inequity in inheritance and social roles between men and women. This indicates a positive development in social and legal awareness of gender equality in Bali, especially in family law. This marriage form, embodying gender equality, presents an efficient solution to inheritance issues without disadvantaging any party. The article concludes that Negen Dadua marriage is a manifestation of gender equality within the Balinese Customary Law community and represents a progressive step towards recognizing women's rights. Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji Perkawinan Negen Dadua di Bali, yang merupakan bentuk perkawinan alternatif dalam Hukum Adat Bali. Konsep ini muncul sebagai solusi untuk masalah pewarisan dan keturunan, terutama di keluarga tanpa anak laki-laki. Metode penelitian adalah normatif konseptual, menggunakan sumber hukum primer dan sekunder. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa perkawinan negen dadua, diakui dalam hukum nasional dan adat Bali, memberikan status purusa kepada kedua suami dan istri, memungkinkan mereka mempertahankan tanggung jawab dan hak dalam keluarga masing-masing. Studi ini menemukan bahwa perkawinan negen dadua bukan hanya mematuhi Hukum Adat Bali dan agama Hindu, tetapi juga mencerminkan pergeseran menuju kesetaraan gender, menawarkan solusi untuk ketidaksetaraan dalam pewarisan dan peran sosial antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Ini mengindikasikan perkembangan positif dalam kesadaran sosial dan hukum tentang kesetaraan gender di Bali, khususnya dalam hukum keluarga. Perkawinan ini, sebagai wujud kesetaraan gender, menawarkan solusi efisien untuk masalah pewarisan tanpa merugikan pihak mana pun. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa perkawinan negen dadua adalah manifestasi dari kesetaraan gender dalam masyarakat Hukum Adat Bali dan merupakan langkah maju menuju pengakuan hak-hak perempuan.

In running an alcoholic beverage trading business, of course, you must have a permit. With the issuance of Bali Governor Regulation No. 1 of 2020 on The Governance of Fermented Beverages and/or Distillation typical of Bali aims to establish production standardization to ensure the safety and legality of fermented beverage products and or distillation, especially typical of Bali. The purpose of the research was to discuss the application of the Governor of Bali regulation number 1 of 2020 in the distribution permit of Balinese fermented drinks in Singaraja and to describe the obstacles faced in implementing the regulation of the Governor of Bali number 1 of 2020 concerning the governance of fermented Balinese wine in Singaraja. The research used the type of empirical research. This research approach uses a sociological approach and a factual approach. The sources of legal materials for this research consist of primary and secondary sources. Data collection techniques used are interview techniques and field observations. The results found that the implementation of Bali Governor Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning Governance of Balinese Fermented/Distilled Drinks in the distribution permit for Balinese fermented wine in Singaraja is just waiting for technical instructions, so until now the implementation in the field has not been running as it should. Obstacles encountered include monitoring efforts and still waiting for cooperation with companies that already have distribution permits.

Intra-cultural communication of the Balinese community, acted as a representation of cultural and social identity. This intra-cultural relationship has consciously built relations of power in the life of the Balinese Hindu community including in very personal matters such as marriage. There are two kinds of marriages for Balinese Hindu, memadik (wooing) and ngerorod (eloping). The second married arose when women from high caste married with a man from a lower caste. In the Dutch colonial era, this kind of marriage was outlawed, since this time categorized as unexpected marriage. One of the consequences of eloping married, known as nyerod in Bali is a decline in the caste of the bride as same as the groom. Accordingly, the couple should change their ways of communication when they interact with the bride family. The aims of this paper is to describe the intra-cultural communications among the nyerod couple with their family and the indigenous environmental in Balinese Hinduism. The ethnography approach was taken to describing and analyzing the primary data from interview and observation. The result shows that the intracultural communication pattern among nyerod women and their parent, sibling and extended family, represent by their impression management. The foundation of interactions are the form of their identity which develops in four layers and bound by customary law.

Griya, Puri, and Jero are terms specifically used to name the dwellings of Balinese aristocrats, namely brahmana, ksatrya, and wesia. These three groups of people are the highest group of citizens in the social structure of traditional Balinese society, also called tri wangsa. This study aims to uncover the identity struggle with the use of the names of the residential groups of citizens of the tri wangsa or the Balinese aristocracy into the names of today's housing developed by developers in Bali. This qualitative study with an interpretive descriptive approach uses Bourdieu's structural generative theory and Foucault's knowledge-power relations in the analysis of primary data obtained from the field, and interviews with informants determined by purposive sampling and secondary data based. Data collection was carried out through literature study and interviews. The study's findings show that in Foucault's view, the use of the names of the traditional Balinese aristocrats' dwellings is a new articulation that has articulated an earlier truth claim that has been established for about six centuries. It is also inseparable from the struggle for economic capital, cultural capital, social capital, and especially symbolic capital. The struggle of various capital in Bourdieu's perspective with its various forms of conversion also becomes a struggle for identity in the field of social struggle through the realm of residential society in Bali today.

Ceremonial activities in Bali cannot be separated from one of the implementations of the three basic frameworks carried out by Hindus. This relates to preparing ceremonies or proper facilities that cannot be carried out alone but requires assistance or assistance from other people, neighbors, or krama banjar. This tradition of mutual assistance, often called nguopin, has been passed down from generation to generation and is still maintained today. This research aims to describe the Balinese women's nguopin activities in Tegal Tugu Village, Gianyar. The method used is a qualitative method. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Preliminary data were obtained through interviews with informants about the Balinese women's nguopin activity in Tegal Tugu Village, Gianyar. Secondary data is related to the documentation of the active nguopin implementation. The research results state that; 1) the functional performance of nguopin has been around for a long time and is still being preserved in the five yadnya activities, such as sanggah or merajan piodalan ceremonies, pawiwahan, cremation, mecaru, and others. 2) The active role of Balinese women is to create a sense of belonging, togetherness, mutual assistance among Balinese women or karma. 3) In the view of Hindus, nguopin is contained in the Bhagavad Gita; 4) The educational value of nguopin is the value of ethics education, harmony education, and value social education.

Social interaction, communication, and language certainly cannot be separated from the life of the Balinese people in general, and in particular to the Bali Aga community. The Bali Aga Hindu community has a very large variety of traditions, one of which is very thick and distinctive in the fields of architecture and spatial planning. In the architectural culture and spatial planning of the Bali Aga community, starting from choosing a place to live, it is very full of calculations where the Bali Aga community knows the concept of Ulu Teben. So based on this concept, the Bali Aga community is very selective in determining the area to be their residence. The concept of spatial planning is not only limited to the selection of residential areas, but also involves village development and housing for residents. One thing that is very unique to the people of Bali Aga is the Paletans that are in every resident's house. Paletanan in Balinese has the meaning of other roads, alternative roads, and shortcuts (Gautama, 2009: 385). It is this palette that distinguishes the Balinese Aga community's yard from the Bali Dataran community. In general, in Bali, they recognize the existence of Pamesu as an access road in and out of the Balinese house yard. But in contrast to the Balinese Aga community yard, besides having Pamesu as the main access in and out to the yard, there is also a so-called Paletasan which also functions as a shortcut access to connect the yards to one another. Oriented to this background, the following problems can be formulated: 1. How is the conception of Paletas as a cultural heritage of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency?, (2) How is the implementation of the conception of Paletas as a cultural heritage of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency?, (3 ) What are the implications of Paletasan for the social life of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency?. In general, this study aims to reveal the meaning behind the existence of Paletan as a cultural heritage of the Bali Aga community which is related to the social interactions of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency. This research uses structural functional theory, meaning theory, and cultural implication theory. The source of data in this study is a direct source (primary) obtained in the field as a result of observation and scrutiny of Paletasan as a cultural heritage of the Balinese Aga community. Meanwhile, indirect (secondary) sources can be obtained through books, articles, written documents, and so on from libraries or other places. Primary and secondary sources can be combined or cross-checked to obtain truly accurate and accountable data. The informants in this study were determined purposively. The data collection used here includes direct observation on the object of research (observation), interviews, and literature study. After the data is obtained, it is analyzed by reducing it, then presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research can be described as follows: (1) The conception of Paletas as a cultural heritage of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency at the beginning of its development was identical as an effort to build social interaction in the midst of people's lives. Paletasan functioned as a defense system by the Balinese Aga in its earlier era. Where Bangli, especially in historical times, experienced various kinds of conflicts which were quite tense so that this Paletasan was a reflection of the Bali Aga community in Bangli Regency to defend themselves from conflicts that threatened them from outside. Then, the last one, Paletasan plays a role in maintaining the social ties of the community so that they always respect each other, love each other, and protect each other (sharpening, loving, nurturing seguluk seguluk seguluk seguluk). (2) The implementation of Paletan as a cultural heritage of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency can of course be viewed from the current existence of Paletasan. Paletasan still exists today in the Bali Aga community, of course, it is based on the understanding that it is a form of cultural heritage from the ancestors of the Bali Aga community. In addition to this, the existence of Paletasan today is driven by the uniformity factor, where as we understand that the Bali Aga community really values ​​togetherness, especially in relation to religious systems, culture, and traditions. Finally, the current implementation of Paletan is also driven by the community's belief that it will have a positive impact on the lives of the Balinese Aga community. (3) The implications of Paletasan on the social life of the Balinese Hindu community in Bangli Regency, of course, cannot be separated from Paletasan's involvement in various social phenomena of the supporting community. In this case Paletasan plays a very important role in mobilizing all forms of community interest so that everything that is done will tend to be more effective and efficient. Besides this, Paletan also has implications for strengthening the social system so that people will always have dependence on each other. And on the other hand, Paletasan is able to provide a feeling of security and comfort to the community that supports it.

This research aims to discuss about the influences of tour guides education and training towards competencies and the impact direct and indirect to performance. It is used mix combination between qualitative and quantitative research with concurrent embedded models. This research used data primary and secondary data. Data collected by observation, interview and spreading questionare to 99 tour guides. Analysis data used path analysis with a single path. The result of this research is education and training has positive and significant influence towards competencies Balinese tour guides with coefficient values 0,802. Competency has positive and significant influence towards performance Balinese tour guides with coefficient value 0,563. Education and training has positive and significant influence toward performance directly with coefficient value 0,279. Education and training through competencies has positive and significant influence toward performance indirectly with sum total coefficient value 0,731. Suggestions for academic expected to research reenacting with same model to verifying result of the study. The suggestion for stakeholder related tour guides profession is to increasing education and training programme of tour guides for increasing competencies and performance of Balinese tour guides.

There are many cases of inheritance rights issues in Balinese indigenous peoples, which often cannot be resolved by means of deliberation (mediation) in traditional villages. These problems are mostly resolved through the Judiciary (Litigation). One of the problems that is being discussed is the inheritance rights of individuals who change religions in Balinese society. This research was conducted to examine the inheritance rights of individuals who change religions in Balinese society. The research method used in this research is normative legal research. This research uses a statutory approach. Sources of data used in this research are primary and secondary data. The data were analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of this research are: The regulation of inheritance rights has failed because in the Decree of the Main Assembly of Pekraman Village (MDP) Bali Number: 01/Kep/Psm-3/MDP Bali/X/2010 clearly states that descendants who move religion (ninggal kedaton) did not get the right to inherit. And inheritance for men who change religions is the same as (left kedaton) where the man does not get the right to inherit.

Bali is one of the most popular destinations chosen by foreign tourists for their visits to Indonesia. Accordingly, Bali often is the primary basis by which foreigners assess the entire nation. Tourist attention is drawn to Bali’s natural beauty and its cultural exoticism. They show various perspectives on Balinese religious and cultural life, those that are generally closely related to Hinduism and tourism. Through qualitative approach, this study aims to analysis the religious life of the Muslim communities in Bali for completing the various viewpoints while revealing another side of Balinese exoticism. The Gelgel village of Klungkung regency is a longestablished village inhabited by Muslims in the midst of strong influences of Hinduism. This village is of interest as the oldest Muslim village in Bali to be accorded designation as a banjar dinas, and even while having a slim territory. Notably, the people in the village are generally able to live peaceably side-by-side with adherents of other religions. This is enabled through local wisdoms that have allowed and encouraged harmony withcastle, temple, and Balinese customs.

This research was conducted to determine the factors that can influence job satisfaction. This research aims to empirically test the influence of Work-Family Conflict and Family-Work Conflict on job satisfaction. This Work-Family Conflict research uses primary and secondary data obtained through distributing questionnaires to respondents, who are ethnic Balinese female workers in the city of Praya. The population in this study were ethnic Balinese female workers who lived in the city of Praya. This research is quantitative research. The sample used was 79 people determined based on saturated sampling techniques. The sample range used in this research is ethnic Balinese female workers in the city of Praya with the criteria: female workers who are married, live with their husband, have been married for at least one year and have at least one child. The analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression. The research results show that Work-Family Conflict has a negative and insignificant effect on job satisfaction, and Family-Work Conflict has a negative and insignificant effect on job satisfaction.

In Bali, honorifics serve as interactional tools determined by the situational context of discourse. In this regard, the present research aimed to uncover patterns of honorific usage in intercultural marriages between Japanese and Balinese individuals within the realm of pragmatic studies. The researchers employed observation along with data collection techniques involving listening, note-taking, and interviewing families of Japanese-Balinese intermarriages. Primary data consisted of dialogues among intermarried families in the districts of Badung, Gianyar, and Denpasar City, considering the high frequency of intercultural marriages in these regions in Bali. The findings revealed a dynamic interplay of honorifics within the context of cross-cultural marriages, shedding light on how language interaction reflected and shaped social interaction norms based on the context of cross-cultural marriages. Specifically, honorifics for Balinese women and children followed the social status of the father's family. Naming conventions for women from the Wangsa Jaba caste, including foreign citizens married to men from the Tri Wangsa caste, involved a process termed "perkawinan naik status" (status-elevating marriage), where the woman was given the honorific "jero" followed by her first name. In contrast, those not belonging to the Wangsa Jaba caste were named according to the birth order of the Japanese woman. This condition also applied to children born from intercultural marriages. Considering these results, this research is expected to contribute significantly to the academic literature on cultural anthropology, linguistics, and cross-cultural studies, offering insights into tolerance, appreciation of differences, and the ability to adapt to cross-cultural relationships.

This research aimed to describe (1) the use of Indonesian language as the first language in terms of sentence based on the content and structure of children in the Balinese ethnic families and (2) the constraints faced by the Balinese ethnic families in Banjar Bernasi in using the Indonesian language as the first language of their children. The subject of this research was the Balinese family in Banjar Bernasi who used the Indonesian language as the first language of their children. The object of this research was the use of Indonesian language as the first language of children in the Balinese family ethnic in Banjar Bernasi and the constraints faced by the family in Banjar Bernasi in using the Indonesian language as the first language of their children. The data collection methods used were observation method, interview, and recording. There were several steps in analyzing the data, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that (1) the use of Indonesian language as the first language of children in the Balinese ethnic families in Banjar Bernasi in terms of sentence based on the content and structure could be declared that children on the primary school were able to use the sentence well. (2) There was no constraint felt by parents in teaching the Indonesian language to their children. That was because the children had already been using the Indonesian language as a mother language start from the baby. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that children were able to use the Indonesian language well in terms of sentences based on the content and structure. Therefore, it is suggested to parents to always teach their children to speak well so that children are able to communicate by using the Indonesian language effectively.

Nowadays, Balinese liquor called “Arak'' has been traded conventionally and on an industrial scale. Balinese Arak can be developed into a product that has a higher value by combining it with local commodities such as spices, that bring a touch characteristic of local products. Arak EGO Pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt) is one of the mainstay commodities in Indonesia, especially Bali. The unique aroma and taste of nutmeg combined with the taste of Balinese liquor “Arak” can be a new innovation in a product development to supporting Balinese tourism which can provide new experiences for connoisseurs of traditional local spirit. Arak EGO is one of the brands that developed Arak with Arak EGO Pala flavour. The purpose of this research were to: (1) identify the liquor attributes that are considered important by consumers (2) determine the level of consumer perception of Arak EGO Pala and (3) determine the attributes that need to get priority to improve their performance based on consumer assessment. The research conducted in Badung Regency which consisted of a survey consisted of several stages, namely initial initiation, data collection, tabulation and data analysis. Data obtained using questionnaires and interviews. Respondents in this study were as many as 200 people. The number of respondents was obtained using the Lemeshow method. The data obtained was tabulated using Microsoft Excel, then analyzed using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. Based on the research results it is known that there are 5 out of 12 attributes that are considered important by consumers. Consumer perceptions of Arak EGO Pala are good with a percentage of Tki of 90.32%. Attributes that need to be improved are mouthfeel, primary taste, aftertaste price, and nasal. Overall, Arak EGO Pala is well received by both domestic and foreign consumers. This research has provided positive information for development and sustainability of Balinese liquor “Arak” as a superior local product.
