Abstract (sommario):

The Ul’ya flora comes from the Coniacian volcanogenic deposits of the Amka Formation (the Ul'ya depression, southern part of the Okhotsk-Chukotka volcanogenic belt). Ginkgoaleans are diverse in this flora and represented by three genera: Ginkgo, Sphenobaiera and Baiera. All specimens have no cuticle and were assigned to morphotaxa. Genus Ginkgo includes two species: G. ex gr. adiantoides (Ung.) Heer with entire leaves and G. ex gr. sibirica Heer with dissected leaves. Genus Sphenobaiera also consists of two species: S. ex gr. longifolia (Pom.) Florin with 4–8 leaf lobes and S. ex gr. biloba Prynada with two leaf lobes. Genus Baiera is represented by new species B. lebedevii Golovn., sp. nov.Leaves of this species are 25–30 cm long and 13–16 cm wide, narrowly wedge-shaped with flat slender petiole, dichotomously dissected 4–5 times into linear segments 3–6 mm wide with 6–12 veins. The length of ultimate segments is equal to about a half of leaf length. Leaves attached spirally to ovoid short shoots about 2 cm long. Among the Late Cretaceous floras similar diversity of ginkgoaleans was recorded only in the Turonian-Coniacian Arman flora from middle part of the Okhotsk-Chukotka volcanogenic belt (Herman et al., 2016). Four species of ginkgoaleans from the Ul’ya flora (except G. ex gr. adiantoides) are considered as the Early Cretaceous relicts.

Abstract. Abgesehen von einem unreifen Araukarienzapfen, der 1927 von Gothan kurz beschrieben wurde, werden erstmalig Pflanzenreste aus den Jura-Kreide-Grenzschichten des Tendaguru bekannt gemacht. Verkieselte Hölzer vor allem aus kreidezeitlichen Schichtabschnitten repräsentieren die für den Jura üblichen Koniferengruppen wie Taxodiaceae, Cupressaceae und Taxaceae. Daneben konnten Ginkgoaceae nachgewiesen werden. Fusit ist nicht selten, meist aber sehr schlecht erhalten, bis auf ein Stück, das die Merkmale einer wahrscheinlich neuen Art von Glyptostroboxylon, einer Taxodiacee, zeigt. Naturmazerate von Kutikulen sind in den mittleren Saurier-Mergeln (tieferes Kimmeridge) häufig und können möglicherweise Ginkgophyten des Baiera/Sphenobaiera-Typs zugerechnet werden. Damit scheint die Flora von Tendaguru auf den ersten Blick von Gymnospermen extrem stark dominiert zu sein. Diese Dominanz ist wahrscheinlich auf taphonomische Prozesse und auf die selektive Probennahme während der Grabungsexpedition in den Jahren 1909–1913 zurückzuführen. So erscheinen neue Profilaufnahmen im Gelände unumgänglich, um ein differenzierteres Bild der jurassisch-kretazischen Flora des östlichen Afrika – die die Ernährungsgrundlage der meisten Dinosaurier vom Tendaguru bildete – zu entwickeln und phytogeographische Beziehungen genauer fassen zu können. Little is known about the Jurassic flora of East Africa. Therefore a preliminary account on plant remains from the well-known „Saurierlagerstätte” of Tendaguru is presented. Specimens of silicified wood represent typical conifers, such as Taxodiaceae, Cupressaceae and Taxaceae, but also demonstrate the presence of Ginkgoales. Fusite is very common, but mostly not well preserved, except for one specimen which shows the characteristics of possibly a new species of the Taxodiacean genus Glyptostroboxylon. Natural macerated cuticules are abundant in the „middle Saurier-Mergel” (Lower Kimmeridgian) and they at least in part seem to belong to Ginkgophytaleans of the Baiera/Sphenobaiera-group. At first glance the composition of the flora of Tendaguru seems to be biased towards a predominance of Gymnosperms. This is not only a result of taphonomical processes, but also of selective sampling in 1909–1913. Preliminary observations support the opinion that further field work must be carried out if we would like to obtain a clearer „picture” of the Jurassic-Cretaceous flora that formed the diet of herbivorous dinosaurs. doi:10.1002/mmng.1999.4860020114

Abstract (sommario):

The leaf genus Pachypteris Brongniart occurs commonly in Mesozoic rocks throughout the world. In India, the genus has hitherto been known only from the Lower Cretaceous strata of Rajmahal, Jabalpur, Bhuj and Pariwar formations. However, a few specimens collected from the Janar River beds of Tiki Formation, in their gross features and cuticular details, evidently represent a new species of the genus. The species, named as Pachypteris hirsuta sp. nov., in addition to its obvious hypostomatic lamina, is characterized by the presence of polygonal trichome bases. Each trichome base is surrounded by a ring of radially elongated cells. From Janar River beds, species of Lepidopteris, Dicroidium, Xylopteris, Sphenobaiera and Baiera have been described earlier. Pachypteris is a further addition to this assemblage. On the basis of faunal and floral remains, Tiki Formation has been dated as Upper Triassic. Occurrence of Pachypteris is hereby recorded for the first time from Indian Triassic strata.

Diagnostic features are systematized for the leaf epidermal structure of the Leptotoma Kiritch. et Samyl. The study of the new findings and the revision of the type material of L. kryshtofovichii Srebrod. et Samyl. from the Early Cretaceous of Eastern Transbaikalia reveal the occurrence of occasional stomata on the lateral epidermis as well as the presence of a central or proximal papilla on the subsidiary cells of the stomata, which allows to emend the specific diagnosis. The same sediments yield L. baikalica N. Nosova, sp. nov., that differs considerably from other Leptotoma species in its peculiar set of epidermal characters. For the first time, discrete resin ducts are found in the leaves of Leptotoma. The revision of type specimens of L. tenuis Samyl. and L. prynadae Travina from the Middle Jurassic of Kansk-Achinsk Coal Basin (Krasnoyarsk kray) suggests their affinity to Baiera. The re-investigation of the type material of L. borealis Travina and L. sibirica Kiritch. et Batjaeva from the Jurassic of Western Siberia indicates that these species should be merged, with L. sibirica kept as the priority name. For the first time for the Lower Cretaceous, findings of Leptotoma leaves are reported from the Maastrichtian of the Amur oblast (L. samylinae N. Nosova, sp. nov.).

Quand nous nous penchons sur la ville en tant que lieu d'expérimentations, il faut saisir son évolution tout au long des années, l'histoire de ses quartiers en tenant compte les caractéristiques de l'espace urbain ainsi que les conditions sociales et culturelles de ses habitants. Il est possible d’étudier la ville dans la diversité de ses emplois et de ses utilisateurs, bien comme étudier les conflits et négociations qui sont à l'origine de cette pluralité. Le noyau de notre recherche a été le conflit entre deux groupes d'utilisateurs, des habitants et des commerçants, du quartier Cidade Baixa à Porto Alegre – RS. Telle situation a déployé des efforts de la municipalité pour améliorer la convivialité entre eux, car mettre en accord leurs intérêts, tout à fait différents, posait des problèmes. Notre idée a été d'identifier et de comprendre les caractéristiques de ces deux groupes en ce qui concernait la valeur et le signifié donnés au quartier. À partir de ces observations, nous avons discuté la valeur perçue par les deux groupes en tant que habitants du quartier Cidade Baixa. Dans cette étape, notre but était d'identifier et de comprendre les rapports entre l'ensemble de valeurs personnelles et les valeurs perçues par l'un et l'autre par rapport aux caractéristiques du quartier. Les concepts issus du markéting et de la psychologie environnementale ont été utilisés dans cette recherche, ainsi que celui du territoire et ses dérivations. La premier étape de l'étude a permis de comprendre le contexte du quartier Cidade Baixa, ses utilisateurs et de sélectionner les groupes d'utilisateurs pour l'analyse. Dans la seconde, nous avons réuni et nous avons analysé des données sur la perçue du quartier et sur des valeurs personnelles des deux groupes. En fin de compte, la dernière étape a réuni des données sur la valeur perçue par les groupes d'utilisateurs. Elle s'est penchée aussi sur l'analyse et la discussion des données des étapes antérieures. Nous croyons avoir contribué à la compréhension et à la comparaison des valeurs perçues par des groupes d'utilisateurs du quartier Cidade Baixa, aux différentes façons d'analyser et réunir des données et au concept de valeur perçue dans le cadre du territoire “quartier”.
This research aim was to contribute to the knowledge about the perception of value on the territory in the neighborhood level. When investigating the city as a place of experiences, it is required an appreciation of its evolution over time and stories of its neighborhoods’ both from the urban environment point of view as in the social and cultural conditions of the population who lives on it. The city can be studied in its diversity of usages and users, as well as in the conflict and negotiations’ coexistence resulting from this plurality. The research focuses was the conflict between two groups of users, residents and traders from the Cidade Baixa neighborhood in Porto Alegre – RS, which resulted in efforts from the municipal public power to improve the conviviality between them, due the difficulty of reconcile the distinct interests which overlap. The purpose was to indentify and comprehend the characteristics from the two users groups in the way which they assign value and meaning to neighborhood they make use from. Based on that, I discuss the perception of value from both groups when committed in the neighborhood Cidade Baixa. The goal was to identify and understand the relation between the composition of personal values and values from both groups of users in relation to the neighborhood’s characteristics. The concept used originates especially from areas of environment – behavior and marketing. The research made use of the concept of territory and its derivations. The investigation was divided in three big stages, the first one had the purpose of understand the Cidade Baixa neighborhood’s and users context, as well as perform the selection of the users groups to be analyzed; in the second stage, data about perception of neighborhood and individual values from both studied groups were collected and analyzed; in the last stage, data about value perception from the groups of users were collected and analyzed, applying the data from the previous stages in the discussion and analysis. The main research’s contributions are related to the understanding and comparison of perception of value from the users groups in the neighborhood’s scope, the comparison from different analysis techniques and collected data, as well as the conceptual contributions about the concept of perceived values in the territory context: the neighborhood.

Introdução: A infecção pelo papilomavírus humano (HPV) é causa necessária para o desenvolvimento do câncer cervical, sendo a vacinação uma das estratégias para reduzir casos e mortes. No Brasil, a administração das vacinas é registrada no Sistema de Informações do Programa Nacional de Imunizações do Ministério da Saúde. Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade dos dados do Sistema de Vigilância da Vacina contra o HPV no Distrito Federal entre 2017 e 2021. Métodos: Utilizaram-se dados do sistema de informação do Programa Nacional de Imunizações, referentes às doses de vacina HPV registradas entre 2017 e 2021. Utilizou-se o Updated Guidelines for Evaluating Public Health Surveillance Systems – CDC/EUA. Para completude foram consideradas as variáveis: “laboratório”, “lote” e “bairro de residência”, e para consistência: “doses aplicadas na faixa etária elegível”, “segunda dose com registro de primeira dose” e “segunda dose posterior à primeira dose”. Foram calculadas as médias, classificando em alta (≥90%), intermediária (60–89,9%) ou baixa (<60%) qualidade. Resultados: A completude das variáveis “laboratório”, “lote” e “bairro de residência” foram 75, 98 e 55,8%, respectivamente, com média 76,3% (intermediária). As consistências foram: “doses aplicadas a partir da faixa etária elegível” (99,3%), “segunda dose com registro de primeira dose” (56,2%) e “segunda dose posterior à primeira dose” (99,7%), com média de 85,1% (intermediária). A média dos valores de completude e consistência foi 84,8%, o que leva à classificação da qualidade dos dados como intermediária. Conclusão: A qualidade dos dados do sistema de vigilância das coberturas vacinais da vacina contra o HPV foi classificada como intermediária. A baixa completude e a consistência de algumas variáveis influenciaram na classificação. Sistemas de informação são úteis para estimar a efetividade e a segurança de vacinas. No entanto, a escassez de dados, além de problemas com a consistência e a completude de variáveis, limita o pleno uso dos sistemas.

Visando a qualidade de vida e ambiental, a Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro instituiu o Programa Reviver Centro que tem o objetivo de promover melhorias no bairro, com foco, principalmente, na atração de novos moradores. Entre os projetos que serão implementados, o Distrito de Baixa Emissão está relacionado com o desenvolvimento sustentável das cidades e se estrutura em ações que podem ou não ter efeito direto na configuração do ambiente acústico local. Dessa forma, o objetivo do trabalho é caracterizar o cenário acústico atual de uma determinada área do Centro do Rio de Janeiro, onde será implementado o Distrito de Baixa Emissão, antes de passar pelo plano de requalificação do Programa Reviver Centro, e avaliar se as ações consideradas no Programa terão efeito no ruído urbano. Foi elaborado um mapa de ruído e medições em campo para caracterizar o ambiente acústico da área de estudo. Verificou-se que os níveis de ruído estão acima dos limites permitidos. A partir dessa análise, avaliou as propostas consideradas no Programa e verificou que elas podem contribuir diretamente na redução do ruído urbano. Isso mostra a contribuição do trabalho para a integração do tema ruído urbano em projetos de requalificação urbana.

A cidade como objeto de estudo de áreas interdisciplinares representa o resultado da ação de diferentes atores sobre seu espaço. Ações coordenadas a partir de sua estrutura física e ambiental, de planos e projetos locais, setoriais, municipais e regionais conduzem seu desenvolvimento em busca de ambientes que propiciem fácil acesso, urbanidade e vitalidade, ordenamento e proteção de áreas verdes. No ensino da Arquitetura e Urbanismo, discussões sobre soluções que visem melhorar ou requalificar o espaço urbano são cruciais para a formação completa do profissional. E tendo em vista a importância do desenvolvimento de habilidades analíticas do estudante, estudos focados em práticas didáticas neste sentido colaboram para a melhoria contínua do processo de ensino. O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre uma prática pedagógica desenvolvida com estudantes de arquitetura e urbanismo por meio do diagnóstico da realidade urbana e do planejamento de propostas de intervenção urbana, com ênfase em discussões coletivas que simulam audiências públicas. A metodologia se ancorou em duas etapas de planejamento. Na primeira, os estudantes propuseram um Plano Integrado de Mobilidade; e a segunda envolveu a elaboração de um Plano de Bairro, que por meio debates utilizando a metodologia World Café, resultou em propostas de ordenamento e estratégias de promoção da qualidade de vida. Os resultados demonstraram a compreensão da realidade urbana e dos problemas enfrentados pela municipalidade na elaboração e implementação de planos e projetos urbanos. Espera-se que esse artigo auxilie em práticas didáticas que estimulem o pensamento crítico e valorizem a condição de pertencimento dos estudantes às suas comunidades.

Leishmaniose visceral (LV) é uma zoonose de distribuição mundial e fatal se não tratada precocemente. Objetivo foi avaliar as ações de vigilância e controle da LV em áreas prioritárias do município de Presidente Prudente/SP. Dados foram fornecidos pelo CCZ, vigilância epidemiológica da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde e Centro de Laboratório Regional Instituto Adolfo Lutz de Presidente Prudente (CRPP). Foram testados 48.365 animais, sendo 16.864 em 2018, 17.402 em 2019, 6.179 em 2020 e 7.920 janeiro a outubro de 2021, com positividade crescente para LVC (Leishmaniose visceral canina) de 1,9%, 2,2% e 3,8%, respectivamente e discreta redução em 2021 (2,9%). O padrão de distribuição espacial da LVC no município foi irregular no território e foi trabalhado ações de vigilância e controle da LV em seis áreas críticas em 2020: Maré Mansa–Imperial, São Sebastião–Residencial Jardins, Vila Formosa, Cedral– Monte Alto, Cláudia Glória–Santa Helena e São Matheus, com positividade média para LVC de 1,67%, valor inferior ao encontrado em 2020 (3,8%) no município. Provavelmente isso ocorreu por baixa circulação do parasita e de intensas ações realizadas em anos anteriores nessas áreas. Além disso, a positividade encontrada no bairro Monte Carlo em 2020 (3,9%) foi similar ao terceiro inquérito de 2018 (4,1%), ao do bairro Cedral–Monte Alto (3%) e a média da área urbana do ano de 2020 (3,8%). Ressalta-se, nesse sentido, que o bairro Monte Carlo é um fragmento do território representativo da situação epidemiológica da doença. Assim o projeto zeladoria foi uma importante ferramenta no combate a LV, sendo necessário dar continuidade nas ações de vigilância em saúde focadas em áreas prioritárias (críticas).

"This case engages with the journey of Community Development Centre (CDC), a small non-profit organization operating in the Mahakaushal region of Madhya Pradesh for over two decades. The case demonstrates how CDC has created a resilient and responsive organizational culture in a remote and resource-starved environment to address multiple developmental challenges of the region and in particular, of the most marginalized Baiga tribe within it. It underscores the importance of a firm conviction in the cause as a precondition of talent which works in such a context. It draws attention to the persistence and skill required to develop lasting relations of trust with the community and the challenges involved in balancing constructive contestation as well as support for the local and state administration. This case represents many similar small organizations that carry out credible and often pivotal work in their own contexts. Through the example of CDC, this case aims to build an appreciation of how nurturing such organizations is critical to give due share to those who remain invisible to the mainstream developmental discourse."

O Projeto Rural Sustentável é fruto de uma parceria de Cooperação Técnica financiada pelo Fundo Internacional para o Clima (IFC) do Governo Britânico, tendo como beneficiário o Ministério de Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (Mapa). O Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID) é o órgão executor do Projeto, sendo o Instituto Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento e Sustentabilidade (IABS) a instituição selecionada para realizar a implementação das atividades administrativas e logísticas da Fase I. O Projeto conta também com o apoio da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa) e do Banco do Brasil.
