Testo completoOur work considers the problem of balancing the assembly line (ALBP). This is a combinatorial optimization problem which consists in assigning operations to stations of the assembly line while respecting various constraints in order to optimize a criterion of efficiency. Two types of problems are defined, based on the objective to minimize. The type I problem (SALBP-1) minimizes the number of stations in a given cycle time. And the problem of type II (SALBP-2) minimizes the cycle time given by the largest time station with a given number of stations. Problems of type II are only considered in our work. Firstly, a method for determining the lower bound of the cycle time which respects the number of stations is determined. This method combines the Lagrangian relaxation and the columns generation method. The Lagrangian relaxation is used to relax the constraints of precedence. The problem of the Lagrangian relaxation is given by the columns generation. Then, a new heuristic is proposed for solving the SALBP-2 problem. This heuristic consists of two steps. In the first step, an initial solution is produced by an heuristic based on a weight corresponding to the position of operations and a threshold defined for each station. The, in the second step, the solution is improved by a process of transfer and exchange. Finally, meta-heuristics are used to solve deterministic and stochastic problems. Two main meta-heuristics are considered: the electromagnetism-like mechanism algorithm (EM) and the estimated distribution (ED). The performance of our method is confirmed via simulation and it is compared with simulated annealing (SA). Due to its better performance, EM was chosen to balance the stochastic lines with random operation times. In this case, the cycle time is minimized under constraint of the reliability of the line which must be greater than a given value. EM is also used to solve multi-objective problems such as minimizing the cycle time and maximizing the reliability of the line by determining a set of Pareto-optimal solutions

Testo completo3 notions are very important in this work: dependance, dynamics of inegalities and stratifical productive system. There is not equilibrium. There is not Schumpeterian entrepreneur. But there is a constant opposition between the agents who are inside the system. The small and medium businesses are an area of autonomy for the big enterprises

Testo completoWhatever applications in the field of Discrete Event System, analysis and plant part behavior modeling represented by a formal model is required. Our bibliographical analysis shows that, according to authors and applications, operative part modeling can take very different forms depending on goals. Used models are generally empirical and are supposed to be defined before the contribution. Although modeling is needed in all the research contribution, modeling does not provide a lot of contribution dedicated to it. In this thesis, we are interested in how to obtain the plant model with two approaches: the first one consists in putting to the test formally an empirical low-level plant model to test if all the control changes are considered. Confidence in the empirical plant model is improved by verifying partially on this one. The second approach consists in proposing to build the plant model by analyzing the components that compose the plant. Each material component is modeled independently with a precision level more or less important before that the plant model is assembled to be used in applications. First, the representing tool that is used is based on the language theory. The obtain results on the modeling of the plant parts are applied to the supervisory control of a packaging flexible cell. The modeling tool shows its limits in the taking into account of the time and the continuous aspects of the plant behavior. Then, our approach is extended to hybrid Petri nets to take into account the discrete and continuous behavior of the plant and their interaction. This hybrid approach enables to supply formal context to simulate realist plant models integrated in the software ITS_PLC Professionnal Edition
Xu, Changyi. "Operational dependability model generation". Thesis, Lyon, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020LYSEI129.
Testo completoAssessing complex industrial systems to be on dependable service is what the engineers and researchers have long been aiming for. Recent advanced researches in the Model-based safety assessment, especially the Structre Analysis and Component Modeling, provide the practicable methodologies to assess the dependability, yet a lack of the framework which is able to assess both the structure and the various behaviors of the components in one uniformed model retains them to achieve the excellent assessment. Moreover, as the system’s operations are not considerable in the models, the service in the aspect of operational dependability is not able to be assessed both in quality and in quantity. Although several existing assessment tools have already show their potential to model the various behaviors in the form of n-state models or consider the operations as repair priority to be event sequence in the model, fusing ‘structure’, ‘various behaviors’ and ‘operations’ is still a challenge, highlighting a need for one viable framework that bridge the gap among them both by quality or quantity. In this research, a formal model generation approach is studied to bridge this gap, which is able to assess the system operatinal dependability by considering the system structure, various behaviors, and operations. Here, the composition of the component models is introduced in order to generate a global model of the system, the total breakdown states are identified according to the resulted failure expression for the purpose to fully consider the system’s structure, and the operational dependability is further realized by quality by applying the trajectory specifications, while by quantity by developing a cost evaluating technology termed Capacity Calculation Fault Tree. In the end, a demonstration of a miniplant system illustrates the wide potential of this research for guaranteeing the dependable service of complex industrial systems

Testo completoThis PhD thesis explores the development and implementation of URNik-AI, an AI-powered automated depalletizing system designed to handle cardboard boxes of varying sizes and weights using a dual-arm humanoid torso. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of industrial depalletizing tasks through the integration of advanced robotics, computer vision, and deep learning techniques. The URNik-AI system consists of two UR10 robotic arms equipped with six-axis force/torque sensors and gripper tool sets. An ASUS Xtion RGB-D camera is mounted on Dynamixel Pro H42 pan-tilt servos to capture high-resolution images and depth data. The software framework includes ROS Noetic, ROS 2, and the MoveIt framework, enabling seamless communication and coordination of complex movements. This system ensures high precision in detecting, grasping, and handling objects in diverse industrial environments.A significant contribution of this research is the implementation of deep learning models, such as YOLOv3 and YOLOv8, to enhance object detection and pose estimation capabilities. YOLOv3, trained on a dataset of 807 images, achieved F1-scores of 0.81 and 0.90 for single and multi-face boxes, respectively. The YOLOv8 model further advanced the system's performance by providing keypoint and skeleton detection capabilities, which are essential for accurate grasping and manipulation. The integration of point cloud data for pose estimation ensured precise localization and orientation of boxes.Comprehensive testing demonstrated the system's robustness, with high precision, recall, and mean average precision (mAP) metrics confirming its effectiveness. This thesis makes several significant contributions to the field of robotics and automation, including the successful integration of advanced robotics and AI technologies, the development of innovative object detection and pose estimation techniques, and the design of a versatile and adaptable system architecture

Testo completoDistribution activities have been the least studied domain of the electricity sector; over the last few years though, strong debates emerged with regards to the future. Indeed, this activity might soon undergo some deep structural changes, particularly as smart technologies are deployed: theses technologies could strongly impact the current business cases of the DSOs, along with the regulation now in effect, at a time when numerous uncertainties weigh on the distributors choices of investments. This thesis investigates the distributors’ business models evolutions in Europe for the next 20 years, based on technological, macroeconomic and geographical parameters. It proposes an original approach, both theoretical and analytical, to better understand the future world of DSOs. At first, it introduces the notion of “technologies with natural potential” in order to study the optimal development of the different technologies, by geographical context and macroeconomic scenarios. From these results, it then defines various possible evolutions of the distribution activities. Crossing these futures with the various possible investment strategies for the DSOs makes it possible to define the future business models of the European DSOs, according to various combinations of smart technologies displayed and contrasted geographical contexts. In its last part, the thesis studies the predictable changes in the relation DSO / regulator, using a formalization based on the Games Theory; this work is complemented by identifying the different lock-in effects (using the approach described in Brian Arthur’s studies) that could hinder the emergence of smart technologies, and the possible solutions
Dekhtiar, Jonathan. "Deep Learning and unsupervised learning to automate visual inspection in the manufacturing industry". Thesis, Compiègne, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019COMP2513.
Testo completoAlthough studied since 1970, automatic visual inspection on production lines still struggles to be applied on a large scale and at low cost. The methods used depend greatly on the availability of domain experts. This inevitably leads to increased costs and reduced flexibility in the methods used. Since 2012, advances in the field of Deep Learning have enabled many advances in this direction, particularly thanks to convolutional neura networks that have achieved near-human performance in many areas associated with visual perception (e.g. object recognition and detection, etc.). This thesis proposes an unsupervised approach to meet the needs of automatic visual inspection. This method, called AnoAEGAN, combines adversarial learning and the estimation of a probability density function. These two complementary approaches make it possible to jointly estimate the pixel-by-pixel probability of a visual defect on an image. The model is trained from a very limited number of images (i.e. less than 1000 images) without using expert knowledge to "label" the data beforehand. This method allows increased flexibility with a limited training time and therefore great versatility, demonstrated on ten different tasks without any modification of the model. This method should reduce development costs and the time required to deploy in production. This method can also be deployed in a complementary way to a supervised approach in order to benefit from the advantages of each approach

Testo completoIndustrial glass furnaces operate the fusion and the preparation of a vitrifiable mixture before the forming. Inside a refractory enclosure, the masses are mixed and undergo the glass elaboration processes thanks to the energy input by combustion. To ensure an optimal quality of the product while respecting the operating constraints, the furnace control is optimized, particularly thanks to predictive control algorithms. For these real-time applications, rapid models of the furnace are required. Among the various simplified modelling methods, we chose here to write the first-principles on a simplified geometry, making simplifying assumptions on the flow structure and combustion model. The model is of zonai type and gives the temperature mean profiles in the furnace. The work was mainly focused on the combustion chamber, and the originality remains in the possibility to tu ne the model thanks to empirical parameters on the combustion rate

Testo completoThis work is performed in the context of PhD dissertation of Anas Salmi in Grenoble INP – School of Industrial Engineering. The thesis is supervised by Dr. Eric Blanco (Grenoble INP – GSCOP laboratory) and co-supervised by Dr. Pierre David (Grenoble INP – GSCOP laboratory) and Pr. Joshua Summers (Clemson University – CEDAR laboratory). The work aims at defining a procedure and tool to help assembly manufacturers, particularly deciders, managers, and systems designers in the decision about automation for their assembly processes design. The purpose is to orient to the optimal Level of Automation (LoA) of the process since the early conceptual design phase. The purpose is to provide the most appropriate solution, most profitable, with consideration of the production requirements, product design features and characteristics, assembly sequence, and manufacturer’s exigencies and preferences and prior decision criteria from different point of views such as quality level, ergonomics, reliability, and manufacturer’s best practices and historical data. Different manufacturer’s constraints have also to be also taken into account in the decision such as social, financial and investment potentials, as well as the location and labor rate.A state of the art of the topic was realized and has shown that the literature about LoA deciding is not abundant. This need to support LoA deciding and delicacy of such process were also recognized by several assembly manufactures and researchers.A first main contribution consists in a multi-criteria LoA decision methodology proposal involving several identified decision criteria to be considered in the decision process. The approach generated a need to define an adequate modelling language. A new graphic Assembly Sequences Modeling Language (ASML) was then defined allowing conceptual assembly processes modelling since the early phase by assembly operations with different architectural possibilities. A standard model can be then defined introducing an intuitive and generic way to define systems with various automation levels alternatives.Rules and time standard databases were also developed allowing assembly systems ASML modelled time estimation based on standardized motions, corresponding time standards, and process’ architectures. To easier the alternatives generation and for better standardization, a high layer vocabulary of 20 standardized assembly tasks, associated to the modelling language, is defined. These developments allow a quick modelling and time estimation when automatically linked to the motions vocabulary. As the economic criterion represents the major occupation and criterion for every manufacturer in such heavy investment, an early phase cost model is developed after an exhaustive review in the field. The cost model, when combined to the previous developments, allows assembly systems alternatives cost prediction with consideration of selected automation options. To computerize the automation decision approach and the exhaustive generation of assembly systems alternatives for the sake of finding the optimal configuration, a mathematical integer formulation is developed and validated. The model is implemented in CPLEX OPL and allows the convergence to the optimal configuration with consideration of the different entered constraints and manufacturers preliminary preferences as input matrices. This work includes theoretical and industrial validations. It opens multiple perspectives and openings in the field of assembly systems design, particularly the rationalization of product and process integrated development by the assembly system automatic generation directly from the product design CAD tool. Other openings of work instructions generation and standardization may represent also promising openings
