Abstract (sommario):
В рецензии на книгу Дагихудо Дагиева “Central Asian Ismailis. An annotated bibliography of Russian, Tajik and other sources” дается в целом высокая оценка этому научному труду. In the book review of Dagikhudo Dagiev's “Central Asian Ismailis. An annotated bibliography of Russian, Tajik and other sources”, the reviewer expresses his high appreciation with the regard to this academic work in general. The reviewer briefly analyses all three chapters of the book, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the monograph. Despite the fact that the Ismaili community of Central Asia has a thousand-year history, there are still few studies conducted in this area. This is especially true for the published works in English. In this regard, the reviewed work is particularly valuable as it introduces English-speaking readers to the history of the Ismailis of Central Asia and provides a historiography of this issue. The author has compiled an impressive bibliographic list (the third chapter is entirely dedicated to the bibliography) of works on the history and doctrine of the Ismailis, nevertheless, it has not covered all published works on this issue. However, the abstracts of more than 700 works in Tajik, Russian and English are a decent resource for researchers who work in this area.

Abstract (sommario):
A survey is given of our state of knowledge on the water mite fauna of Central Asia. As is documented in Table 1, documentation of this fauna is biased towards species living in standing waters. The present study is based on the analysis of all available bibliography and material collected in July 2013 during a joint collecting trip of the authors in Kyrgyzstan. Six species of water mites are described as yet new to science, representing the families Hydryphantidae (Wandesia albertii n. sp.), Torrenticolidae (Torrenticola kyrgyzica n. sp.) and Hygrobatidae (Atractides grigorievka n. sp., A. manasi n. sp., A. alaarchaensis n. sp. and A. sonkulensis n. sp.)

Abstract (sommario):
The paramount interest of China in Afghanistan seems to ensure peace and stability in the region. Beijing’s soft power approach towards Afghanistan through its neutral stance and minimum involvement in domestic politics within Afghanistan proved to be an advantage in cementing China’s role in Afghanistan as a credible mediator. China extends its influence in the region through the Belt and Road Initiative, where the importance of CPEC is interlinked with the development of China’s western sector. China aims to harness the Afghan territory for its transit routes because Afghanistan bridges the connectivity gap between Central Asia and West Asia. This paper highlights that the current interests of China in Afghanistan are multiple. China is utilizing all the soft power elements to promote and expand the areas of activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to South Asia because stability in Afghanistan cannot be achieved solely. Understanding Regional Security Complex Theory and Soft Power can encapsulate China’s engagement in Afghanistan. It has made a considerable effort by highlighting regional complexities on various multilateral fronts like China-Pakistan-Afghanistan, China-Russia-Afghanistan, and China-Russia-Pakistan-Iran. This study develops an analytical framework of South Asian security from the regional point of view and analyses external powers' role in the transition of regional security complexes. Abstract (sommario):
It is argued by policymakers and practitioners that instability in South Asia has exacerbated since Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) coming into power in India. Its policymaking is impacted by the influence of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). BJP is known as the political brand-name of RSS. There is a perceptible increase in RSS expansion and dominance of Hindutva ideology in domestic, foreign, and security policies of India. RSS is following the grand policy of greater India with the establishment of Hindu hegemony in India and Hindustan’s (India’s) hegemony in South Asia. Empirical evidence suggests that a well-choreographed use of communal violence and Pakistan bashing have been employed by BJP for the attainment of its objectives. BJP’s revoking of Articles 370 and 35-A to forcibly absorb Indian Occupied Kashmir and enactment of Citizen Amendment Act are the most recent manifestation of RSS long-term design. Following the mixed research method, this paper will be developed around the central argument that the rise of RSS influence on Indian policymaking has impacted its domestic and external policies which bear implications for South Asia. Bibliography Entry Islam, Muhammad Javed, and Zulfqar Khan. 2020. "Trajectories of RSS Ideological Domination in the Indian Policy Making: Implications for South Asia." Margalla Papers 24 (1): 1-15.
