This paper describes how to use conventional compiler construction tools, and parser generators in particular, to build XML driven application generators. In our approach, the document interface is provided by a standard stream-oriented XML processing framework (e.g., SAX or StAX). This framework is used to program a generic, customizable XML scanner that transforms documents into streams of suitable tokens (opening and closing tags, character data, etc.). The next step is to characterize the syntactic structure of these streams in terms of generation-specific context-free grammars. By adding suitable semantic attributes and semantic actions to these grammars, developers obtain generation-oriented translation schemes: high-level specifications of the generation tasks. These specifications are then turned into working application generators by using standard parser generation technology. We illustrate the approach with <e-Subway>, an XML-driven generator of shortest-route search applications in subway networks.

This paper presents “Connection Status Report Generator” which is an auto executable application and it generates a detailed textual and pictorial representation of the network connectivity status of a particular computer and sends the generated reports to the concerned party. The features developed in this paper aim to constantly monitor the network connectivity status as well as ease the troubleshooting process of finding the major cause of call-drops which is a popular problem in every industry. This paper is divided into three major sub-categories of real-time connection status tracker, report generator, and the image viewer interface. The proposed executable application is coded in Java and designed to run as a background application with minimal system prerequisites.

The generation of a temperature disturbance in a flow is accompanied by the production of acoustic waves (direct noise) and of an entropy perturbation. If this entropy perturbation is accelerated or decelerated (as is the case through a nozzle or flow restriction), additional acoustic waves are generated (indirect noise). Several studies have demonstrated this mechanism in controlled conditions by using entropy wave generators, in which entropy waves are generated and convected through a nozzle, leading to direct and indirect noise. An analytical analysis of the direct and indirect noise produced by the generation and acceleration of entropy waves in a reflective environment is presented. The effect of reverberation (repeated acoustic reflections) on low-frequency perturbations (characteristic of entropy wave generators) is determined analytically. These results are then implemented in a set of limit cases, showing the limit behaviours of such systems. The analytical model is applied to the case of the Cambridge entropy wave generator experiment, in which entropy waves are generated by an electric heater and accelerated through a subsonic orifice plate. Due to the clear time separation of direct and indirect noise in the experimental results, direct and indirect noise transfer functions can be extracted from the experimental data for the first time and compared directly with existing theoretical models. The backward-propagating indirect noise generated at an orifice plate is shown to be significantly higher than predicted by existing theoretical models for isentropic nozzles.

AbstractAn anti-resonance pulse forming network (PFN) has been designed, analyzed, and tested for its application in generating quasi-square pulses. According to the circuit simulations, a compact generator based on two/three-section network was constructed. Two-section network is applied in the generator due to its compact structure, while three-section network is employed for generating pulses with higher quality. When two-section network is applied in the generator, the full-width at half-maximum of the load pulse is 400 ns, at the same time, its rise time, flat top and fall time are 90, 180 and 217 ns, respectively. When the three-section network is applied with the same pulse width of the load pulse, the rise time of the output decreases to 60 ns, while the flat top increases to 240 ns and the fall time reduces to 109 ns. Meanwhile, this kind of network could be used to shape the output pulses of generators whose equivalent circuit is LC series discharge network, such as MARX generator, into quasi-square pulses. And the preliminary experiment demonstrates that anti-resonance network could work well on four-stage Marx generators. A sine pulse generated by the four-stage Marx generator is shaped into a quasi-square pulse with voltage of 11.8 kV and pulse width about 110 ns based on two-section anti-resonance network.

Abstract (sommario):
Minimizing electricity generation cost which includes fuel cost, emission cost, operation/maintenance cost and network loss cost of multiple operating units has been a major issue in the power sector. The economic dispatch has the objective of allocating different loads to the power generators in such a manner that the total fuel cost is minimized while all operating constraints are satisfied. Conventional optimization methods assume generator cost curves to be continuous and monotonically increasing, but modern generators have a variety of nonlinearities in their cost curves making this assumption inaccurate, and the resulting approximate dispatches cause a lot of revenue loss. Computational intelligence optimization like Particle Swarm Optimization performs better for such problems. To know the effectiveness and efficiency in solving economic dispatch, this paper proposes the application of particle swarm optimization. The mathematical model of economic dispatch is developed and then, Particle Swarm Optimization is developed to solve the economic dispatch problem using 3-generator and 6-generator system with multiple fuel option. The test results clearly demonstrated that particle swarm optimization which is capable of achieving global solutions is simple, excellent computationally efficiency and has better and stable dynamic convergence characteristics with a high probability.

The on demand generation of source code and its execution is essential if computers are expected to play an active role in information discovery and retrieval. This paper presents a model of implementation of a source code generator, whose purpose is to generate source code on demand. Theimplementation of the source code generator is fully configurable and its adoption to a new application is done by changing the generator configuration and not the generator itself. The advantage of using the source code generator is rapid and automatic development of a family of application once necessary program templates and generator configuration are made. The model of implementation of the source code generator is general and implemented source code generator can be used in differentareas. We use a source code generator for dynamic generation of ontology supported Web services for data retrieval and for building of different kind of web application.

In this paper, the study and optimization design of stator coreless axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generators is presented for direct driven variable speed renewable energy generation system applications while considering the requirement of reliability and dynamic performance with unstable input conditions. The dynamic analytical model is developed based on the investigation of the axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG) structure and basic electromagnetic equations to find out the relationship between generator parameters and dynamic performance. Simulation via the MATLAB/Simulink platform is carried out to obtain the sensitivity of dynamic performance to generator parameters. An integrated optimization model that takes the key parameters as variables is proposed, aiming to improve the mechanical dynamic performance of AFPMSG. For accurate design, the design procedure is modified by combining the nonlinear iterative genetic algorithm (GA) to perform the calculation. A 3_kW AFPMSG is optimally designed to minimize the output voltage overshooting—the index of dynamic performance for direct driven variable speed generation application. Finally, a three-dimensional (3D) finite element model of the generator is established by Maxwell ANSOFT, and the simulation results confirm the validity of the dynamic performance analysis and optimal design procedure.

The roller of the engine and the shell of the centrifugal outer rotor of the generator are designed together. The permanent material and the fixing block are fixed on the shell of the outer rotor. the centrifugal force increase with the rotate speed increase, so, the permanent material will not be damaged at high speed, and the reliability of the generator is improved. When the rotor turns, the magnet field turns, the generator generates electricity,with the permanent magnet material of high remnant magnetic induction and the optimized design of the generator, the output voltage is improved when the engine at low speed. We develope a single-phase double half-wave electric regulator is to ensure the stability of the output voltage and can direct output direct current.

The increasing use of energy saving lamps provides additional benefits to the application of low-power low-speed self-excited induction generators resulted from capacitor motor modification. Reactive power requirement of the generator can be provided from the capacitive nature of the lamps, while at the same time it is delivering active power to loads. Any loading change will automatically increase or reduce reactive power supply to generator. Results of experiments show that low-power low-speed single-phase self-excited induction generator is more robust and suitable for this kind of loads. Generator does not lose its voltage when experiencing abrupt change of loads. This robustness makes the generator suitable for the use in low-capacity hydropower generation in remote areas being commonly not covered by national electricity grid.

Averaged 3D N-S equations and RNG k-ε equations were solved with parallel computing CFD code on the flow field of dual radial ventilation system without fan for a hydro-generator. The MRF(multiple implicit rotating frame) method was used to simulated the rotating motion of the generator and porous media model were used to simulate the pressure loss of air cooler. Rational tactics were selected to generate calculation grids to compromise with calculation CPU time and result accuracy and the grids of different parts were generated with ICEM-CFD. The flow characteristic of different parts was analyzed and flow flux of different section was obtained. The research indicated that the flow from leakage gap between poles and stators formed "air wall", which generated a recirculation zone and made the bar cooling bad. The local pressure loss of stator entrance is dominant. There are leeward and windward areas for the air flowing with circumferential velocity component. Rational design of stator ducts entrance with some diversion effect, can reduce the pressure loss of the stator ventilation and improve the cooling of leeward area in stator ducts.

Random number generators are required for the operation of cryptographic information protection systems. For а correct application of the generator in the field of information security, it is necessary that its output sequence to be indistinguishable from a uniformly distributed random sequence. To verify this, it is necessary to test the generator output sequence using various statistical test suites such as Dihard and NIST. The purpose of this work is to test a prototype hardware random number generator. The generator is built on the basis of the ND103L noise diode and has a random digital sequence of binary numbers at the output. In the prototype there is a possibility of regulating the amount of reverse current through the noise diode, as well as setting the data acquisition period, i.e. data generation frequency. In the course of operation, a number of sequences of random numbers were removed from the generator at various values of the reverse current through the noise diode, the period of data acquisition and the ambient temperature. The resulting sequences were tested using the NIST statistical test suite. After analyzing the test results, it was concluded that the generator operates relatively stably in a certain range of initial parameters, while the deterioration in the quality of the generator's operation outside this range is associated with the technical characteristics of the noise diode. It was also concluded that the generator under study is applicable in certain applications and to improve the stability of its operation, it can be improved both in hardware and software. The results of this work can be useful to developers of hardware random number generators built according to a similar scheme.

One of the hardest task for a machine is creativity. Computational creativity defines creative task completion for a machine. Three main creative content generation methods are: exploratory, combinatorial and transformational. Video game content can be generated using procedural generation. Computational creativity, procedural generation, and application are explained in this paper. Procedural level generator is used as a base and additional features are built on top of it. The main goal of this research and modification is to increase application creative value, variety and expression. Additional functionality consists of tree and texture generation.

Generally speaking, asynchronous generators are used more frequently in medium power in wind energy conversion systems WECS applications. Depending on the power electronics converter used in the specific application, the operation of the asynchronous machine can be controlled in nested speed torque loops, using different torque control algorithms. Because WECS are highly nonlinear systems, but with smooth nonlinearities, a possible optimal control design solution can be the maximum power point tracking MPPT in this paper. This research describes a comparison of the power quality for wind power systems based on two generators: the squirrel-cage induction generator (SCIG), the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). At first, we simulated SCIG and DFIG in MATLAB/Simulink and investigates the impact of this generators on the power system stability for compare the results and to comment on the best option based on the output characteristics of the generator and wind turbine. Random numbers are widely employed in cryptography and security applications. If the generation process is weak, the whole chain of security can be compromised: these weaknesses could be exploited by an attacker to retrieve the information, breaking even the most robust implementation of a cipher. Due to their intrinsic close relationship with analogue parameters of the circuit, True Random Number Generators are usually tailored on specific silicon technology and are not easily scalable on programmable hardware, without affecting their entropy. On the other hand, programmable hardware and programmable System on Chip are gaining large adoption rate, also in security critical application, where high quality random number generation is mandatory. The work presented herein describes the design and the validation of a digital True Random Number Generator for cryptographically secure applications on Field Programmable Gate Array. After a preliminary study of literature and standards specifying requirements for random number generation, the design flow is illustrated, from specifications definition to the synthesis phase. Several solutions have been studied to assess their performances on a Field Programmable Gate Array device, with the aim to select the highest performance architecture. The proposed designs have been tested and validated, employing official test suites released by NIST standardization body, assessing the independence from the place and route and the randomness degree of the generated output. An architecture derived from the Fibonacci-Galois Ring Oscillator has been selected and synthesized on Intel Stratix IV, supporting throughput up to 400 Mbps. The achieved entropy in the best configuration is greater than 0.995.

Generative adversarial networks are currently used to solve various problems and are one of the most popular models. Generator and discriminator are characteristics of continuous game process in training. While improving the quality of generated pictures, it will also make it difficult for the loss function to be stable, and the training speed will be extremely slow compared with other methods. In addition, since the generative adversarial networks directly learns the data distribution of samples, the model will become uncontrollable and the freedom of the model will become too large when the original data distribution is constantly approximated. A new transfer learning training idea for the unsupervised generation model is proposed based on the generation network. The decoder of trained variational autoencoders is used as the network architecture and parameters to generative adversarial network generator. In addition, the standard normal distribution is obtained by sampling and then input into the model to control the degree of freedom of the model. Finally, we evaluated our method on using the MNIST, CIFAR10, and LSUN datasets. The experiment shows that our proposed method can make the loss function converge as quickly as possible and increase the model accuracy.

Interactive Digital TV (iDTV) enhances viewers’ experience and participation by engaging them with an active role. The development of interactive software requires the employment of usability criteria to provide satisfactory experiences for users. In addition, the diverse characteristics of television programs require efficient processes for interactive software development. In Latin America, the process of implementing DTV is in progress, so the current stage of development of interactive applications is too incipient and immature to support industrial, quality-level development. This paper proposes combining software reuse strategies, specifically, software product lines (SPLs) and user-centered interaction design patterns, to improve productivity and quality. A generic feature model for the automatic generation of iDTV applications and an SPL-iDTV tool that supports the model are presented. The proposal is evaluated with two studies: an experiment that attempts to reproduce real application prototypes that were originally developed manually, through the use of patterns, and an evaluation of the quality of the SPL.

This paper proposes a circuit capable of incorporating buffered delays in the order of picoseconds. To study our proposed circuit in the profound way, we have also explored our proposed circuit using emerging technologies such as FinFET and CNFET. Comparisons between these technologies have been made in terms of different parameters such as duration of incorporated delays (pulse width) and its variability with supply voltages. Further, this paper also proposes a trigger pulse generator by utilizing proposed buffered delay circuit as its basic element. Parametric results obtained for the proposed trigger pulse generator match different application specific requirements. These applications are also mentioned in this paper. The proposed trigger pulse generator requires very low supply voltage (700 mV) and also proves its effectiveness in terms of tunability of pulse width of the generated pulses. The modeling of the circuit has been done using Verilog and the simulation results are extensively verified using SPICE.

Self-Excited induction generators (SEIG) display a low voltage and frequency regulation due to variable applied load and input rotation speed. Current work presents a simulation and performance analysis of a three-phase wind-driven, SEIG connect to a three-phase load. In addition, an investigation of the dynamic operation of the induction generator from starting steady state until no-load operation. It is assumed that the input mechanical power is constant where the rotor of the SEIG rotates at a constant speed. The value of the excitation capacitance which is necessary to the operation of the induction generator also computed to ensure a smooth and self-excitation starting. The output voltage of the generator is adjusted by varying the reactive power injected by STATCOM. A 3-phase IGBT voltage source inverter with a fuel cell input supply is connected as STATCOM which is used to compensate for the reduction in the supply voltage and its frequency due to variation occurred in the applied loads. This work includes introducing a neuro-fuzzyy logic controller to enhance the performance of the SEIG by regulation the generated voltage and frequency The dynamic model of SEIG with STATCOM and loads are implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK

In the becoming years, energy demand is expected to grow faster than current needs. Thermoelectric technology works through conversion process from heat energy into electricity directly and vice versa. Thermoelectric device that use for energy conversion from heat into electrical is known as thermoelectric generator (TEG). TEG is made of Bismuth Telluride, Lead Telluride and Silicon Germanium compound which contains figure of merit (ZT). In term of applications, TEG is possible to be applied in extreme condition such as a power supply in the space mission, harvesting heat from transportation vehicle, and getting waste heat from industrial sector. Furthermore thermoelectric generation is possible also to be applied as a micro power generation system which is very useful for electrical source for residential installation. In this paper, a brief review of above applications is presented. Early developed research investigation is carried out for application of thermoelectric generator in residential installation by using biomass wooden-fuel stove. The early result shows that there are amount of heat emitted from the side cylinder cook stove as energy waste. There is a chance and possibility to harvest energy waste in the stove to become electric source and finally this related research effort will increase the efficiency of the electric stove in energy conversion.

The coherency is the value of the direction cosine by using angle of the generators. when the direction cosines of two generator is 1 that indicates the oscillation direction between the two generators is inter-area oscillation mode; when the direction cosines of two generator is-1 that indicates the oscillation direction between the two generators is local oscillation mode. Coherency is affected by speed governing system and excitation system of generator.Using two area systems verifies the theoretical analysis is correct.

For any facility, reliability and availability of power are key. Traditional gas- or diesel-driven power generation designs for facilities rely on generated spinning reserve to achieve power system stability and availability for defined operational scenarios and expected transients. Spinning reserve is extra generating capacity that is usually introduced by running additional power generator(s). Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) as energy storage units provide for a virtual spinning reserve in a hot standby arrangement to achieve the same effect for a set period during operating scenarios and transient events. Use of BESS technology is becoming more frequent within electrical network systems, remote sites and industrial facilities on the back of improved battery technology. This lends itself to better BESS reliability, effectiveness and lower associated cost to procure and install. Many of Clough’s projects are remote and islanded where they need to be self-sufficient, generating and distributing their own power needs. BESS units are scalable energy storage systems that can be used as a part of power generation solutions for facilities installed onshore or offshore. In addition to supplementing the primary generation on a facility as static storage units, BESS units offer benefits such as reduced emissions on facilities by not burning fossil fuels to achieve spinning reserve; they also allow for power management of generation systems, store any excess power from primary generators, allow for integration of renewables, offer constructability benefits and reduced operational/maintenance costs. The commercial and environmental benefits of BESS units are key drivers in Clough’s decision to embrace their use on future projects.

In the low-pressure pulse and cavitation jet compound drilling technology, pulse low-pressure and cavitation jet generator is installed on bit, water jet modulated by generator can generate pulse low-pressure, which will alternate rock mechanics, decrease rock breaking strength, increase rock-breaking efficiency. And cavitation jet generated can increase hydraulic power downhole. The results show that low-pressure pulse and cavitation jet generator has been run well from 5349m to 6162m for 129.36h-136.63h in TK1090 well, increasing drilling speed 40.6%~85.1%. The low-pressure pulse and cavitation jet compound drilling technology can increase drill speed and be deployment in deep well drilling.

Isolated communities are progressively integrating renewable generation to reduce the societal, economic and ecological cost of diesel generation. Unfortunately, as renewable penetration and load variability increase, systems require greater diesel generation reserves, constraining renewable utilisation. Improved diesel generator flexibility can reduce the requirement for diesel reserves, allowing increased renewable hosting. Regrettably, it is uncommon for utilities to modify diesel generator control during the integration of renewable source generation. Identifying diesel generator flexibility and co-ordination as an essential component to optimising system hosting capacity, this paper investigates improved diesel generator flexibility and coordination via low-load diesel application. Case study comparisons for both high- and low-penetration hybrid diesel power systems are presented in King Island, Australia, and Moloka`i, Hawai`i, respectively. For King Island, the approach details a 50% reduction in storage requirement, while for Moloka`i the application supports a 27% increase in renewable hosting capacity.

Introduction. Recently the issue of decentralised (autonomous) power supply of certain rural consumers has been increasingly considered. Various small power generators using local and renewable energy sources can be applied for this purpose. So a consumer must choose the best-suited energy-generating source. Materials and Methods.The findings of energy audits, which were conducted by the Institute from 2003 to the present day, were used to evaluate energy consumers and determine operation modes of equipment and load schedules. Complex index of the negative impact of heat and electricity generation on the environment was determined using the Spesivtsev ‒ Drozdov method of logical-linguistic modelling based on expert assessments. Results. Energy sources can be divided into traditional (diesel generators and gas generator plants) or renewable ones (wind turbines, solar collectors, mini hydro systems). Energy source is chosen either with the help of the economic criterion, being the cost of one k·Wh of energy or the criterion of environmental compatibility, or total specific emission of pollutants from energy generation at local generating sources (g/k·Wh). Here, not only the quantity of emissions, but also the harmful effect on the environment is considered. Discussion and Conclusion. For the choice of energy supply sources, the coefficient of energy-ecological compatibility is proposed, being the product of the cost of one k·Wh of energy generated and specific emission of pollutants. The optimal value of this factor is the smallest, which accounts for both economic and environmental feasibility of energy generating sources.

One such industry is the diesel generator industry where these generators are operated without any proper supervision. The current management of these generator vans is highly unorganized. This causes a lot of miscommunication between the owners and the customers. The idea focuses on monitoring the different parameters of a diesel generator using internet-connected sensors. Parameters such as fuel consumption, AC power ON time, RPM of the turbine, and temperature are measured in real time. The system helps the owners to monitor their generators vans through one mobile application rather than depending on the on-site operators. Both the owners and customers can see how much power was consumed and how their bill was generated. Rather than using pen and paper to maintain records in the current method, the new system completely transforms the old methods into a highly digitalized modern business.

The hydroelectric plants flow rate always varies with time due to the speed rotation of turbines which affect the amplitude and frequency of electrical energy generated. Hydro plants are being utilized for the purpose of peaking as well as base load, pumped storage and spinning reserve power operation etc. Especially in a system consisting of large industries, where frequency and voltage fluctuations are required to be kept minimum, their stability determines the quality of power. For efficient use of plant, complex control techniques are employed in the station automation and these involve the turbine governor in control features for which a flexible governor design is essential. MATLAB 2007 Software was used to carry out simulations analysis to develop fuzzy logic controller for hydropower Generator speed regulation with aims of stabilizing output power supply in order to increase the water flows rate through the hydropower penstock. The result of the research shows the hydropower generator speed model which can be used to stabilized power output as a result of increase in turbine speed rotation when fuzzy logic controller is applied. The result showed that hydropower Generation speed regulation with and without fuzzy logic controller were 319.8m/s and 65m/s respectively. The speed increased by 254.8m/s. the result shows that application of fuzzy logic controller gives better result and increase the rotational speed of hydropower.

Phenomenon of electrostatic hazards is becoming increasingly prominent with wide application of microelectronic elements. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) is an extremely complex process, which is not only related to the materials, the object shape and the value of discharging circuit resistance, but also always involved in very complicated process of gas breakdown, so ESD is also a stochastic process which is difficult to repeat. According to the request of standard IEC61000-4-2, simulation circuit of the equivalent Human-Metal Model is established, discharging process is simulated and analyzed, and the influence laws of circuit parameters and distribution parameters for ESD current waveform are obtained. Thus the structure of discharging circuit and element parameters can be determined, test results can be verified to some extent, and the characteristics and influencing factors of ESD process can be known better. Simulation results show that waveform parameters are all within the range of standard errors, which proves that the design of model parameters is correct, the analysis of ESD process is reasonable.

In this work, the design qualification testing, evaluation and test methods of gas generator using double base (DB) propellant having square flake shape is explained for an improvised explosive devices (IEDs) applications. Various kinds of the gas generators are used to save life of an aeronaut in the fastest way from the disable fighter aircraft. Due to their ruggedised design, compactness, safe transportation, repeatability in performance and quick operation, the gas generator are used. The gas generator is designed and developed keeping functional, mechanical and structural requirements in mind. The gas generators are subjected to the various qualification tests, electrical characterisation followed by closed vessel (CV) firings at hot and cold temperatures. The gas generators after the successful qualification tests are validated through the ground trials i.e. dynamic firing of disruptor during the development phase. The damage caused due to impact of the projectile is assessed in terms of crater as acceptance criteria at stand-off distance of 0.5 m and 1m. The gas generator discussed in this research article is used to disrupt the suspected IEDs by creating a high-speed jet using water-jet disruptor. In conclusion, after successful qualification testing, the gas generator for IEDs application meets all the specifications as per user’s requirements.
