OBJETIVO: Avaliar se o aumento de iodo na dieta seria o fator desencadeante de tireopatias autoimunes na cidade de Santo André, SP. MÉTODOS: Determinou-se a iodúria em amostra isolada de 58 pacientes, divididos em quatro grupos e de 13 indivíduos normais (controles). RESULTADOS: Iodúria: grupo 1 - hipertireoidismo = 203,5 ± 152,71 µg/L (média ± DP); grupo 2 hipotireoidismo = 258,31 ± 148,2 µg/L; grupo 3 - tireodite crônica autoimune = 244,29 ± 191,6 µg/L; grupo 4 - amiodarona = 1.157,5 ± 261,8 µg/L; grupo 5 - controles = 262,31 ± 146,2 µg/L. Comparadas as médias da iodúria entre os cinco grupos, dos grupos 1, 2, 3 e 5 não apresentaram diferenças significantes (p > 0,05) e todos diferiram do grupo 4 (p < 0,05). A iodúria dos grupos 1, 2, 3 e 5, obtida em 2002 e 2003, não diferiram dos valores determinados em 1994 em escolares em Santo André. CONCLUSÃO: Este estudo evidencia que o iodo não deve ser considerado o agente responsável pelas tireopatias autoimunes em Santo André, e outros fatores ambientais devem ser investigados.

The fauna of Tydeidae of Western Siberia is reviewed. A total of 27 species from eight genera were found in Tyumen and Kurgan Regions. Two species, Lorryia sibiriensis n. sp. and L. speciosa n. sp. are described as new for science; Lorryia evansi Baker is recorded from Russia for the first time and redescribed based on materials from Tyumen Region; Lorryia paravarsoviensis (Momen and Lundqvist), L. subularoides Kaźmierski, L. arkadiensis Panou and Emmanouel, L. argutus (Kuznetsov and Petrov) n. comb., L. serpettae (Momen and Lundqvist) n. comb., L. szeptyckii (Kaźmierski) n. comb., L. filiformis (Momen and Lundqvist), L. grandiinsignia Kaźmierski, Nudilorryia obsequens Kaźmierski, Paralorryia formosa (André), Calotydeus edwardbakeri (Kaźmierski), Tydeus nieuwkerkeni André, T. spathulatus Oudemans and Metalorryia delicata (Kuznetsov) are recorded in Russia for the first time. After examination of the holotype of Paralorryia formosa Livshitz this species is moved to Nudilorryia. Morphological characters separating two closely related species, Lorryia catenulata (Thor) and L. polita Kuznetsov, are also provided.

Amour/Crime/Révolution d'André Brochu à la fois comme prolongement du travail critique de l'auteur sur la littérature québécoise et comme manifestation d'une appropriation de la littérature et de la nouvelle critique françaises. Brochu a d'ailleurs vu dans cet ouvrage l'aboutissement de ses recherches sur l'" imagination thématique et formelle - des textes et la réalisation de ses ambitions théoriques (relier l'étude du "champ thématique" à celle des "motifs poétiques", des "conceptions idéologiques" et des 'Structures narratives" complexes). Il s'agit ici de montrer que le Hugo représente un moment clé de l'itinéraire de Brochu, réalisant "en concentré" le programme que celui-ci n 'aura eu de cesse, tout au long des trente dernières années, de poser à l'horizon de la critique littéraire québécoise.

Urban sprawl poses a significant threat to urban stream water quality due to impermeabilization, reduced vegetation cover, and the release of diffuse pollutants. This study evaluates water quality in seven catchments in Santo André, SP, considering seasonality. Nutrient concentrations and in situ measurements were taken during both dry and rainy seasons. Comparisons were made using Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney tests. Streams showed significant differences in relation to water quality parameters. The Carapetuba, Jundiaí, and Apiaí streams were most adversely affected, underscoring the need for urgent water quality intervention (water conductivity above 500 μS/cm, dissolved oxygen below 2 mg/L, total dissolved carbon above 50 mg/L, and total dissolved nitrogen above 25 mg/L). Significant differences were observed across seasons. The dry season showed elevated temperatures (above 25 °C) and increased total dissolved carbon (above 50 mg/L) and nitrogen concentrations (above 30 mg/L), indicating reduced dilution effects from rainfall and heightened organic contamination. Conversely, the wet season demonstrated lower nutrient concentrations, emphasizing seasonal dynamics. Sustained, long-term monitoring of urban streams in Santo André and the implementation of sewage collection and treatment in irregular settlements are recommended. These measures are essential to mitigate the adverse impacts of urban expansion on water quality.

Red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) was grown for seed production after the seeding year on two different types of soils, in the same climatic area. An important difference in yield which was often related to cultivar and sometimes to year was observed between the two soils — the light soil, Saint-André gravelly loam, produced more seed than the heavy Kamouraska clay. Seed yield differed between cultivars with Florex and Arlington producing the most. On an annual basis, the thousand-grain weight was higher on Kamouraska than on Saint-André. The percent germination was not influenced by soil type and cultivar but variation between years was observed. The production of heads per plant was higher on Saint-André. The number of seeds produced per plant and per head was, as for yield, higher on Saint-André than Kamouraska. The influence of cultivars and years was not always visible on these last parameters. Therefore these results demonstrate that generally the success of red clover seed production depends not only on cultivar and climatic conditions, but that within the same climatic area the type of soil is a major factor. À propos de la revue Liberté, dont il a été un cofondateur, André Belleau a maintes fois réitéré son caractère « ouvert » — d’une ouverture toutefois paradoxale, à la fois accueillante à l’Autre et néanmoins centrée sur elle-même. Dans le présent article, il est question d’observer comment Belleau a composé avec l’« épreuve de l’étranger » (Berman) par le truchement de la référence à une tradition étrangère, en l’occurrence allemande. Au terme d’un parcours analytique qui puise principalement dans les archives de l’essayiste (notes préparatoires, premières versions, notes de lecture, plans de cours et notes de cours, etc.), il apparaît que, pour Belleau, le recours à l’Allemagne, plus patent dans les marges et dans le versant oral de sa pratique que dans l’oeuvre publiée, constitue l’une des voies de sortie possibles du déterminisme « selon lequel un Québécois ne parle toujours, en définitive, que du Québec » (Dumont). Cette sortie comporte toutefois le risque de s’isoler et de se retrouver sans communauté, comme les écrivains romantiques marginalisés des cités atomisées de l’Allemagne des xviiie et xixe siècles ; ce risque, Belleau aura sans cesse tenté de le circonvenir en négociant une « ouverture » à l’altérité dont la complexité est analysée ici.

À partir de la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle, la civilisation européenne témoigne des crises successives qui provoquent finalement une crise générale sur le plan moral et intellectuel, d'où un désordre d'idées parallèlement au grand bouleversement de l'ordre des choses après les remous funestes de l'Histoire. À la fin du siècle et notamment après la Grande Guerre, le panorama général qui se présente est assez inquiétant, voire désespéré : l'homme dont le Dieu est mort, et qui a été " débarrassé " des valeurs qui, à la fois, faisaient son bonheur et son malheur se trouve tout seul, " décentré " dans un monde effondré sur ses propres bases. Donc l'Histoire contraint la nouvelle génération née avec le siècle à rebâtir l'homme sur des nouvelles assises. Il n'est pas surprenant à cet égard qu'André Malraux et ses contemporains se penchent particulièrement sur la question de l'identité de l'homme et sur les problèmes éthiques. Analyste remarquable de la crise d'identité de l'homme occidental dans ses essais La Tentation de l'Occident (1926) et D'une jeunesse européenne (1927), André Malraux propose dans ses romans, à travers ses personnages, une certaine image de l'homme hanté par la condition humaine et élabore une éthique qui cherche à donner un sens à l'existence humaine dans un monde livré à l'absurde. Ce travail est essentiellement une Edition critique de L'Espoir, comprenant le texte du roman avec renvoi à l'apparat critique (t. I), les variantes (t. II) et les notes (t. III). Elle est complété par l’édition de fragments inédits constituant un projet de second roman sur la guerre civile et deux versions du film Sierra de Teruel: le t. IV contient, outre la totalité des notices, une bibliographie et une table des matières. Cette étude démonte les mécanismes de la création: chez Malraux, le roman nait de scènes autonomes, rédigées séparément, puis dactylographiées avec une pagination propre; ces unités narratives sont ensuite montées comme un film, avec adjonction d'enchainements et unification du système des personnages. En dehors de la vie de l'escadrille internationale et de quelques observations directes, le roman a été écrit à partir de matériaux de seconde main: témoignages de camarades de combat, coupures de presse, premiers livres sur la guerre. La recherche historique s'efforce de faire le point sur le rôle réel de Malraux et de son escadrille dans la guerre d’Espagne et d'apporter le maximum de renseignements sur les personnes et les évènements évoqués par le roman. L'ensemble des documents édités avec L'Espoir complète l'information du lecteur en lui proposant la totalité de la production artistique de Malraux pendant la guerre civile espagnoleThis piece of work mainly of a critical edition of L'Espoir (man's hope), which includes the text of the novel with cross-references (first volume), the variants (second volume) and the notes (third volume). In addition, several unpublished fragments of a second novel about the Spanish civil war are edited, as well as two versions of the film Sierra de Teruel: the fourth volume contains the editor's notes, the bibliography and a table of contents. This study shows how is made a novel by Malraux: it arises from independent sequences, separately written and types and paginated; the narrative units are then edited and linked like a film while like a film the system of characters is unified. Apart from episodes taken from the of the international air squadron and some firsthand observations, the novel was written from second hand materiel such as eyewitnesses' accounts, press cuttings or books. The historical research investigates into the part played by Malraux and his team in the Spanish civil war tries to bring most data about people and events mentioned in the novel. The collection of documents around the novel is intended to complete the reader's information with the publication of Malraux’s whole artistic production during that war

Les rapports qu'entretient André Gide avec la représentation visuelle, sont aussi riches que complexes. Ils traversent toute son oeuvre et s'expriment sous la forme d'une esthétique de la division. Ainsi, l'image à l'origine purement informative, semble évoluer à l'intérieur de l'" oeuvre-vie " d'un auteur véritablement protéiforme, se dérober vers une réalité plus confuse, et gagner en profondeur, en signification. De ce support unique et constant que le regard de l'observateur cerne sans difficulté et sans ambigui͏̈tés, Gide propose une utilisation fragmentaire; d'une vitre transparente et homogène, il élabore une mosai͏̈que riche d'une infinité de couleurs, de formes, de possibles. Les limites de cette vision kaléidoscopique sont pourtant bien présentes et viennent troubler la bonne conscience de l'observateur. Voir devient une expérience personnelle et intime qui, par le biais des jeux de double et de reflets mène à l'introspection. Cette profonde connaissance de soi n'est chez Gide qu'un moyen de mieux s'ouvrir au monde des êtres et des choses. Une fois la déception du regard du corps assumée, ses limites éprouvées, ses contradictions mises à jour, commence à se faire jour la subtile éthique de l'image gidienne. La cécité donne accès à la vision de l'esprit, celle qui voit juste et qui ne se laisse pas abuser par les apparences. Le vrai regard est celui qui ne se pose jamais définitivement, celui qui sait rester nomade tout en s'interrogeant inlassablement et avec humilité sur la réalité de ce qu'il perçoit.

Mandiargues est un auteur érotique, mais son érotisme est " métaphysique " Quelle définition apporter à ce terme alors que Mandiargues ne précise nulle part sa pensée ? Son érotisme est " métaphysique " comme l'est la peinture de Chirico, comme l'est aussi Ferrare, " La cita métafisica " C'est en effet un érotisme abstrait, une recherche transcendantale onirique et fantastique, une sublimation romantique, un absolu déconnecté de la réalité. L'érotisme, nourri de ses fantasmes ou de ses rêves est avant tout pour lui matière, prétexte à écriture. Mais il est aussi déstabilisation, révolte contre les valeurs bourgeoises qu'il honnissait. Comme la plupart des grands écrivains, Mandiargues a crée un monde secret et singulier dont il ne livre guère les clés. Il concetto di museo virtuale è stato, a partire dalla fine del XX secolo, al centro di innumerevoli discussioni. Analizzandolo secondo la chiave proposta da Desvallées e Mairesse in Concetti Chiave di Museologia, che lo intendono come «l’insieme dei musei concepibili», è possibile individuarne una prima formulazione nel museo immaginario teorizzato dallo scrittore francese André Malraux. Per quest’ultimo, la fotografia ebbe un ruolo fondamentale nell’ideazione di un museo potenzialmente in grado di accogliere tutte le opere d’arte.
Lo scopo dell’elaborato è quello di analizzare come si sia evoluto il concetto di museo virtuale con l’avvento di Internet, che accoglienza abbiano avuto i cyber-musei nel dibattito pubblico e che funzioni essi possano assumere. Considerando la cesura che è stata determinata dalla pandemia da Covid-19, si vuole considerare quali cambiamenti quest’ultima abbia causato nel contesto di tali musei, in che misura abbia innescato una crescente digitalizzazione e quanto li abbia avvicinati alla definizione di museo elaborata dall’ICOM nel 2007. In conclusione, si vuole cercare di comprendere se e come, ad oggi, la rivoluzione digitale abbia permesso di avvicinarsi al concetto di museo immaginario concepito da Malraux.

Cette étude, centrée sur 'La Condition humaine' et 'L'Espoir', emprunte ses moyens d'analyse à la poétique du récit, pour rendre compte des répétitions et variations qui y sont à l'oeuvre. L'auteur cherche à reconsidérer la composition du roman comme texte, au lieu de le concevoir comme mise en intrigue d'une histoire. Il s'efforce de rendre compte du processus créateur. La répétition lui apparaît alors comme cette décision stylistique et structurale qui en fait l'axe même du passage du sens dans le langage romanesque. Il examine ensuite comment les phénomènes de répétition modifient l'adhésion du lecteur à la fiction pour reporter son attention sur les procédés mêmes de la narration, avant d'extraire le principe musical qui couverne la composition de ces deux romans. Conduite alors à redonner sa place à la voix du créateur, l'étude s'achève par une réflexion sur la manière dont Malraux entend, à travers son oeuvre, interroger le monde et l'Histoire. La mia tesi consiste nella traduzione di un romanzo poliziesco dal francese all'italiano. Il romanzo è stato scritto da Stanislas-André Steeman, un autore belga che scriveva in francese. Questo romanzo è inedito in Italia, quindi la mia è la prima traduzione del testo disponibile. Il mio intento non è solo quello di proporre la traduzione di un romanzo sconosciuto in Italia, ma anche quello di riproporre al pubblico di lettori un autore ormai dimenticato all'estero, anche se agli inizi del ‘900 la sua fama era in un certo senso internazionale. Steeman è ritenuto uno degli autori di romanzi polizieschi più dotati, questo soprattutto grazie al suo più conosciuto romanzo poliziesco L’assassin habite au 21, un classico della letteratura belga. In realtà Steeman ha avuto un riconoscimento in patria del suo talento solo dopo la sua morte, la mancanza di questo riconoscimento lo turbò al punto che passò gli ultimi otto anni della sua vita in depressione e in esilio.
Quando ho iniziato il lavoro di traduzione la mia idea era di evidenziare le espressioni del francese belga all'interno del testo, ma durante il lavoro mi sono resa conto che l’autore scriveva in francese standard anche se utilizzava molte parole, espressioni, similitudini e metafore ormai fuori uso oppure inventate da lui; quindi il lavoro di traduzione ha richiesto molta attenzione ma anche molta fantasia per cercare di mantenere gli stessi giochi di parole e il senso che l’autore voleva dare al discorso attraverso l’uso di queste espressioni. Per questo prima di presentare la mia traduzione spiego al lettore i differenti approcci alla traduzione e quelli scelti da me per tradurre un testo di questo tipo. Prima di tradurre il testo ho ricercato, attraverso l’uso di saggi di linguistica, varie teorie della traduzione alle quali ispirarmi per la mia traduzione. Alla fine ho deciso di fare una traduzione che restasse fedele al senso che l’autore voleva dare, quindi la mia non è stata una traduzione parola-per-parola.
Prima di procedere con la traduzione ripercorro in breve la storia del romanzo poliziesco. Per questo tipo di lavoro ho utilizzato diversi saggi che illustrano la storia del genere, le fonti sono state numerose e per questo ho scelto di riportare soprattutto gli elementi comuni ai vari testi storico-critici, ma ho usato come testo di supporto il saggio di Del Monte che ripercorre la storia del genere poliziesco in Europa.
Il romanzo "Madame la Mort" di Steeman viene inoltre analizzato sia da un punto di vista linguistico e stilistico che contenutistico. Per questo tipo di analisi ho utilizzato saggi di linguistica e dizionari (cartacei e online) e, per quanto riguarda l’analisi del romanzo in quanto appartenente al genere poliziesco, ho utilizzato il testo di Ilaria Crotti "La “detection” della scrittura: modello poliziesco ed attualizzazioni allotropiche nel romanzo del Novecento" e le venti regole da rispettare per scrivere un buon poliziesco suggerite da Van Dine.
Un ultimo capitolo della mia tesi è dedicato alle mie conclusioni, quello che voglio dimostrare è che Steeman è davvero un grande scrittore di polizieschi anche se oscurato da sempre dal suo concittadino e collega Georges Simenon; i due giocano in maniera differente con lo stesso genere adoperando prospettive differenti. Inoltre vorrei portare l’attenzione sul concetto di paraletteratura. Quella della paraletteratura è una categoria ampia nella quale vengono inseriti tutti quei generi ritenuti minori come il romanzo poliziesco, il fumetto, il romanzo fantascientifico, il romanzo rosa… Quello sul quale mi piacerebbe far riflettere il lettore è che non dovrebbe esistere una demarcazione tra letteratura maggiore (grandi Classici) e letteratura minore, ma che esistono libri ben scritti e libri scritti male.

Human interactions with the trainer during physical training can be highly engaging and motivating [1] and are based on rapport as a dynamic structure of mutual attentiveness and coordination [2]. Human-Agent interaction in virtual reality (VR) aims to establish interaction patterns and rapport with virtual agents similar to real life. Research shows that users react towards virtual agents similar to real people [3] and that rapport is established similar to human rapport [4]. Therefore, rapport with virtual trainers in exergames is used to enhance an engaging and motivating user experience.In this paper we report on the results from an evaluation study on perceptions and interactions with the virtual trainer “Anna” after a 6-week exergame training for senior patients with hypertension. The human-like “Anna” is the key element of interaction design in a gamified series of exergames developed in the bewARe project. Anna was developed as a realistic, full body, female figure (silhouette) to motivate participation in the VR training. The primary goal of our research was to evaluate to what extent senior users can establish rapport with the virtual trainer as a factor contributing to positive user experience and training outcomes. The evaluation was conducted with 23 participants aged 65 and older with diagnosed hypertension. The virtual trainer Anna facilitated user participation in both exergames by giving instructions, modeling movements and providing feedback during the exergames in the HTC Vive Pro Headset. We used the 15-item rapport scale by [5] to measure rapport. The study also applied further research instruments to explore perceptions of the virtual trainer such as the trait list with 9 items describing selected features of the virtual trainer, and the bipolar uncanniness questionnaire with 40 adjectives used to assess possible Uncanny Valley effects described by [6]. The results of the rapport scale indicate that the design of the virtual trainer was effective for establishing rapport especially in terms of building a relationship with the virtual trainer and enhancing the engagement of senior users to participate in the VR training. However, the design was less effective in creating a positive perception of the trainer as a warm, caring and respectful agent. The overall median of the rapport scale was 6 (Min:1,Max:8). The results of the evaluation of the trait list revealed that voice quality, speech pauses and bodily movements were rated highest, followed by head and hand movements. The lowest values were researched for face expression. In the Uncanny Valley questionnaire, the median value for the humannes scale was 1 (Min:-3,Max:3), for the attractiveness 1 (Min:0,Max:3) and for the eeriness 0 (Min:-1,Max:0). Furthermore, the paper explores the relationships between the rapport scores and the perception of senior trainees of selected characteristics of the virtual agent and the uncanniness scale. Finally, given the diverse results from the study, the paper discusses possible design options for enhanced rapport and motivational effects of a virtual trainer based on the analysis of literature in related areas.References1. Florianópolis possuí 15 centros universitários, cerca de 600 empresas de tecnologia e é considerada o quarto destino internacional de eventos no Brasil (ICCA). O interesse em inovação na cidade durante o mês de outubro é observável pelo elevado número de eventos que acontecem, podendo ser agrupados em três dimensões: tecnologia, ambiental e social. Embora sejam dimensões diferentes, todas procuram a reflexão, o aprendizado e o planejamento organizado ligado à inovação. Entretanto, esses eventos são organizados e comunicados individualmente, criando situações de concorrência direta entre eles. Em alguns casos, essa concorrência gera problemas na sustentabilidade financeira, por falta de participantes, ou apenas repetição dos participantes, por falta de visibilidade. Essa situação enfraquece a experiência do visitante e gera uma visão da cidade bem menos diversa em alternativas de conhecimento. Florianópolis possuí potencial de cidade criativa, a qual promove a revitalização cultural, a atração de indivíduos criativos, o estímulo da participação social e apoio financeiro às indústrias culturais e áreas afins. Esse conceito está baseado na economia criativa, que se assenta sobre a relação entre a criatividade, o simbólico e a economia (HOWKINS, 2002). O desenvolvimento das atividades de lazer e de uma imagem local, assim como salientar as características culturais e experienciais do lugar, resulta em especial interesse na gestão estratégica comunicacional da cidade. O objetivo desse artigo é o levantamento das características e atributos para a criação de um nome e valores de marca que considere todos os agentes envolvidos nos eventos de inovação em Florianópolis. A perspectiva da pesquisa foi baseada na teoria fundamentada com uma abordagem sistêmica, e na sua classificação: aplicada por sua natureza, qualitativa pela forma de abordagem, exploratória por seus objetivos e um estudo de casos pelos procedimentos técnicos. Os objetos pesquisados foram os websites e as redes sociais dos eventos do estudo. Os métodos de análise foram: análises webométricas, para medir o fator de impacto não world wide web dos websites de estudo; análise textual do conteúdo por meio de nuvens de palavras e um análise de redes (ARS) dos sites de redes sociais dos websites de estudo. O tipo de amostra do foi intencional: por intensidade e conveniência (FRAGOSO, RECUERO, AMARAL, 2011). Squeeze Film Dampers (SFDs) are routinely employed to reduce vibration amplitudes and isolate structural components in gas jet engines, high performance compressors and, occasionally, water pumps. Most open-ended squeeze film dampers in practice present the phenomenon of air entrapment. It is generally accepted that the presence of air reduces the damping capability of the SFD, especially at large amplitudes and high frequencies of vibrations. Thus, there is a need for a reliable model of practical use in the analysis of high performance turbomachinery SDFs operating with air entrainment. Di´az and San Andre´s advance a model for estimation of air entrapped into the film lands. This model is based on a dimensionless number that relates geometric and operational parameters, but is strictly valid only for infinitesimal length bearings. The present research has by objective extending the previous work of Di´az and San Andre´s for prediction of air entrainment and entrapment on finite length bearings. The Reynolds lubrication equation for a homogeneous mixture is solved using the finite volume method. The results are shown in a map that allows determining air volume content in the film as a function of the dimensionless parameter created by Di´az and San Andre´s (Squeeze-Feed Flow Number, γ) and the length-diameter ratio (L/D). This work represents a significant step towards a better understanding of air entrainment in finite length Squeeze Film Dampers.

Squeeze Film Dampers (SFDs) are commonly used in turbomachinery to dampen shaft vibrations in rotor-bearing systems. The main factor deterring the success of analytical models for the prediction of SFD’s performance lays on the modeling of dynamic film rupture. Usually, the cavitation models developed for journal bearings are applied to SFDs. Yet, the characteristic motion of the SFD results in the entrapment of air into the oil film, producing a bubbly mixture that cannot be represented by these models. There is a need to identify and understand the parameters that affect air entrainment and subsequent formation of a bubbly air-oil mixture within the lubricant film. A previous model by Diaz and San Andre´s advanced estimation of the amount of film-entrapped air, based on a non-dimensional number that related both geometrical and operating parameters but limited to the short bearing approximation (i.e., neglecting circumferential flow). The present study extends their work to consider the effects of finite length-to-diameter ratios. This is achieved by means of a finite volume integration of the two-dimensional, Newtonian, compressible Reynolds equation combined with the effective mixture density and viscosity defined in the work of Diaz and San Andre´s. A flow balance at the open end of the film is devised to estimate the amount of air entrapped within the film. The results show, in dimensionless plots, a map of the amount of entrained air as a function of the Feed-Squeeze Flow Number, defined by Diaz and San Andre´s, and the Length-to-Diameter Ratio of the Damper. Entrained air is shown to decrease as the L/D ratio increases, going from the approximate solution of Diaz and San Andre´s for infinitely short SFDs down to no air entrainment for an infinite length SFD. The results of this research are of immediate engineering applicability. Furthermore, they represent a firm step to advance the understanding of the effects of air entrapment on the performance of SFDs.

Abstract Recent multiphase-pump developments encountered several rotordynamic issues with smooth balance-piston seals, creating a need to better understand the performance of annular seals under multiphase-flow operation. This paper presents measurements of static and dynamic characteristics of a long smooth seal (L/D = 0.75, D = 114.686 mm, and Cr = 0.200 mm) operating under pure- and mainly air condition in which air is mixed with silicone oil (PSF-5cSt). Tests are performed at a supply pressure of 62.1 bars-a, three rotation speeds (5, 10, 15 krpm), three pressure ratios (PRs) (0.6, 0.5, 0.4), for a range of inlet liquid volume fraction (LVFi) from 0% to 8%. The results are then compared to: (1) the previous test reported by Zhang et al. (2017, “Experimental Study of the Static and Dynamic Characteristics of a Long Smooth Seal with Two-Phase, Mainly-air Mixtures,” J. Eng. Gas Turbines Power, 139(12), p. 122504) with similar testing condition but a different seal geometry (L/D = 0.65, D = 89.306 mm, and Cr = 0.188 mm) and (2) the predictions from a bulk-flow model developed by San Andrés (2012, “Rotordynamic Force Coefficients of Bubbly Mixture Annular Pressure Seals,” ASME J. Eng. Gas Turbines Power, 134(2), p. 022503). Results show a significant increase of direct dynamic stiffness KΩ as LVFi increases, especially at low PR. Test results reported by Zhang et al. (2017) has an opposite tendency of KΩ as an impact of increasing LVFi. Concerning cross-coupled dynamic stiffness kΩ and cross-coupled damping c, the results from Zhang et al. (2017) and the present results agree to the effects of changing speed, PR, and LVFi under pure- and mainly air conditions. As LVFi increases, direct damping C increases while test results reported by Zhang et al. (2017) showed no significant increase. Except for the direct dynamic stiffness and the impact of changing LVFi on the cross-coupled dynamic stiffness, the bulk-flow model of San Andrés (2012) predicts decently the tendencies and magnitudes of the rotordynamic coefficients.

Centre de la Manche disposal facility is the first French surface disposal facility dedicated to low and intermediate level short lived radioactive waste. It started up in 1969. After a continuous improvement, in the design of disposal vaults, in operational modes, in the whole process of waste management, in the safety approach, the last packages were received in 1994. 527,000 m3 of waste packages have been disposed during the 25 years of operation. The facility was licensed for the institutional control period in 2003. The disposal vaults are covered with a multilayer capping system that includes a bituminous membrane to provide protection against rainwater infiltration. Water that might infiltrate through the membrane is collected by the bottom slab of the vaults to a pipe network implemented in an underground gallery. Measurements show an overall infiltration rate of about 3 l/m2/year that complies with the objective of Andra of a few liters per square meter and per year. Investigations are performed in order to assess the behavior of the membrane in the long term. For this purpose periodically samples of the bituminous membrane are taken and measurements are performed. As at the beginning of the operational period waste packages were not conditioned in accordance with the specifications that are presently prescribed to waste generators, some settlements can be observed on the ancient part or the facilities. At the end of 2009 some excavation works were performed in an area where a settlement of few tens of centimeters was observed. The integrity of the membrane could be observed and the adequacy of the selection of this option for the watertightness of the capping system was so confirmed. Environmental monitoring includes radiological and chemical measurements for discharge, underground water and surface water. In the particular framework of Centre de la Manche, a contamination of groundwater by tritiated wastes occurred in 1976. Theses wastes were removed in 1977 and 1978 but tritium can still be detected under the facility. However the impact to a hypothetical critical group, using only local water, is presently about 0,4 μSv per year (2009). A safety review of the facility was performed in 2009 by the regulatory body. It was noticed that the behavior of the facility was consistent with predictions. The progressive strategy proposed by Andra to improve the capping system, in particular to achieve long term stability of the slopes, was assessed. The process implemented by Andra to maintain memory of the facility was discussed. In this way the periodical safety reviews are part of the dynamic process through which the monitoring of the facility will become progressively more and more passive.

Introdução: O conhecimento da medicina popular é repassado de geração para geração. O Nordeste Brasileiro possui espécies de plantas adaptados ao clima tropical, equatorial úmido e semiárido. Vários estudos etnobotânicos realizados em comunidades urbanas e rurais da caatinga, trouxeram novas informações químicas e farmacológicas de várias espécies. Objetivos: Foi feito um levantamento bibliográfico sobre a distribuição de famílias Botânicas com espécies nativas e exóticas utilizadas na medicina popular da região Nordeste. Material e métodos: Foram selecionado 10 artigos publicados nas bases de dados do Eletronic Library Online (Scielo) e do Portal do Google Acadêmico, utilizando as palavras-chave: Etnobotânica, Fitoterapia, Caatinga, Medicina popular e Plantas medicinais, com data entre 2009-2021. Os artigos citaram um total de 94 famílias distribuídas em 686 espécies. As abordagens foram quantitativas. O critério de inclusão foram: famílias que fossem citadas em mais de dois artigos e espécies vegetais utilizadas para tratar diversos tipos de enfermidades. Resultados: A família Fabaceae possuiu o maior número de espécies, ela é bastante conhecida e importante para a economia da região nordeste, sendo utilizada na fabricação de gomas, corantes, óleos e inseticidas, temos como exemplo: Anadenanthera colubrina (Vell.) Brena, Cenostigma nordestum Tul., Mimosa ophthalmocentra Mart. ex Benth e Erythrina velutina Willd. As espécies mais citadas da família Anacardiaceae foram: Anacardium occidentale L., Myracrodruon urundeuva Alemão e Schinopsis brasiliensis Engl. A família Lamiaceae foi representada pelas espécies: Rosmarinus officinalis L., Plectranthus barbatus Andr., Plectranthus amboinicus Lour., Ocimum basilicum L. e Mentha arvensis L. Conclusão: A caatinga possui um clima semiárido, onde as folhas de várias espécies de plantas ficam indisponíveis durante o período da escassez de chuvas, e por causa disso, a casca é a parte mais utilizada no preparo de chás, garrafadas e xaropes. Observou-se um número relativamente alto de várias famílias de espécies medicinais, mostrando que estudos da taxonomia Botânica são importantes para o desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas que consigam ampliar o conhecimento ecológico, morfológico e medicinal.

Сохранение биоразнообразия растительного мира путем интродукции – одно из приоритетных направлений работы ботанических садов. Представители рода Paeonia обладают как декоративными качествами, так и лекарственными свойствами, ряд видов редкие и занесенные в Красные книги различного ранга. В Ботаническом саду-институте коллекция представителей рода Paeonia начала формироваться с 2005 г. В настоящее время она насчитывает 17 видов, разновидностей и форм: P. anomala L., P. caucasica (Schicz.) Schicz., P. delavayi Franch., P. hybrida Pall., P. mascula subsp. bodurii Ozhatay, P. mascula subsp. hellenica var. hellenica Tzanoudakis, P. mascula var. mascula (L.) Mill., P. lactifora Pall., P. obovata Maxim. P. offcinalis rubra plena, P. offcinalis rosea plena, P. oreogeton S. Moore, P. ostii Hong & Zhang, P. suffruticosa Andr., P. tenuifolia L., P. tenuifolia f. plena, P. wittmanniana Hartwiss ex Lindl. Для успешной интродукции видов рода Paeonia в БСИ ДВО РАН подобраны разные условия освещенности. Видам луговых и степных сообществ отведены открытые солнечные участки, а лесных — под кронами разреженных древесно-кустарниковых растений. В коллекции собраны виды из областей с умеренным климатом, способные произрастать в Приморье в условиях открытого грунта: дальневосточные виды P. lactifora, P. obovata, P. oreogeton, а также P. anomala, P. hybrida. Хорошо зарекомендовали себя представители лесных сообществ Кавказской флоры: P wittmanniana, P. caucasica и степной вид P. tenuifolia с его махровой стерильной формой P tenuifolia f. plena. Несмотря на ежегодное цветение, образование семян зависит от погодных условий и никогда не бывает обильным. В коллекции собраны также южно-европейские виды: P. officinalis и его садовые формы (P. officinalis f. rosea plena, P. officinalis f. rubra plena), а также подвиды и разновидности P. mascula (P. mascula var. mascula, P. mascula subsp. bodurii, P. mascula subsp. hellenica var. hellenica). P. officinalis и его садовые формы нуждаются в открытых солнечных участках и щелочных почвах, выращивание их возможно при условии качественного дренажа, способного устранить излишнюю влагу, т.к. они чаще других подвержены грибным заболеваниям. Цветение у представителей этой группы ежегодное, но семена не завязываются. Такие же требования предъявляются и к сортам, полученным на основе этого вида. P. mascula и его подвиды и разновидности менее требовательны к условиям выращивания − на приподнятом участке они ежегодно цветут и завязывают семена. Таким образом, коллекция видов пиона в БСИ демонстрирует их экологическую пластичность и способствует сохранению генофонда представителей рода Paeonia L. в условиях ex situ.

La prevalencia de hepatitis C es claramente superior en pacientes con adicciones y se ha demostrado la relevancia de la presencia de patología dual en unidades de subagudos de Psiquiatría. Existen pocos datos de su prevalencia y relevancia en Unidades de Hospitalización Breve. Se estudia una muestra de 1841 ingresos realizados entre el enero del 2017 y octubre del 2021. Un 40% eran reingresos de pacientes por lo que se incluyen 1096 pacientes distintos (52,1% eran mujeres), edad media de edad 49,62 (DT=16,27). 340 sujetos (31,3%) padecían Trastornos psicóticos, 180 depresivos (17%), 105 Trastornos de Ansiedad (10,1%), 46 Trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (4,4%), 72 T. Personalidad (6,9%), 34 tenían CI bajo (3,3%). Hasta 112 pacientes tenían diagnóstico principal de T. por consumo de sustancias (10.2%). 15 pacientes fueron positivos en el análisis de Sífilis (1,5%), 47 sujetos para Hepatitis B (4,7%), 28 pacientes para Hepatitis C (2,8%) y 15 fueron positivos para VIH (1,5%). Los pacientes con T. por consumo de sustancias se asociaron a la presencia de hepatitis C p-valor=0,054 y VIH p-valor=0,044. La presencia de pacientes con serología positiva para la hepatitis C en Unidades de Hospitalización Breve Psiquiátrica es muy superior a la esperable para población general y parece estar vinculada a pacientes duales. Diaz and San Andre´s reported results of an extend research to quantify the effect bubbly mixture in the performance of the SFDs. They also advanced an analytic model for short infinity bearings (L/D = 0) which estimate the air ingestion as function of non-dimensional number named by them feed squeeze flow number. Me´ndez et al. advanced the understanding of the effect air entrainment. They propose a new dimensionless map to estimate the air volume fraction in finite length bearings. Although, their results are immediate applicability, they do not have been validated. The present work looks for confirm the results presented by Me´ndez et al. To achieve this, it is solved a compressible Reynold equation with a different numerical method. The results indicate that is necessary another dimensionless number to estimate the entrapment air and the dimensionless map proposed by Me´ndez et al. is valid only to bearings with an eccentricity-clearing ratio of 0.5248.

Vid analyser inom den nationella miljöövervakningen av växtskyddsmedel (NMÖ) och annan miljöövervakning ingår vissa metaboliter från växtskyddsmedel. Kunskapen om vilka andra metaboliter som kan finnas i grund- och ytvatten i Sverige och som skulle kunna ha negativ effekt på miljön eller människors hälsa är bristfällig. Detta projekt syftar till att identifiera vilka metaboliter från växtskyddsmedel som kan vara relevanta att analysera i svenska yt- och grundvatten. En bedömning görs också av vilka som är praktiskt möjliga att inkludera i analyspaket för den nationella miljöövervakningen. Totalt 33 prover från Sverige analyserades för 67 metaboliter av laboratoriet DVGW Technology Centre for Water (TZW) i Karlsruhe, Tyskland. Totalt 22 metaboliter detekterades, 7 i grundvatten och 22 i ytvatten. Elva substanser förekom i halter över 0,1 µg/l i ytvatten och fyra av dessa över 0,1 µg/l även i grundvatten. Övriga underlag som användes för att identifiera relevanta metaboliter är: • Resultat från tidigare analyser av metaboliter i Sverige och Danmark • Underlag om relevans baserat på data från registreringsprocessen • Genomgång av lagstiftning och diskussion med berörda myndigheter Totalt har 38 metaboliter från växtskyddsmedel identifierats som relevanta att analysera i svenska yt- och grundvatten. Fyra av metaboliterna ingår redan i analyserna inom NMÖ, fyra kan inkluderas i NMÖ-analyserna från och med 2024 och en metabolit kan inkluderas i en ny metod för mycket polära ämnen som utvecklas med finansiering av Naturvårdsverket. De resterande kommer att testas efter prioritering i samråd med berörda myndigheter. Identifiering av relevanta metaboliter att inkludera i den nationella miljöövervakningen, och i analyser av yt- och grundvatten generellt, behöver vara en kontinuerlig process eftersom nya ämnen tillkommer på marknaden och kunskapen kring befintliga ämnen utvecklas. Att CKB får uppgifter från Kemikalieinspektionen två gånger per år säkerställer att detta fortsätter att uppmärksammas. Av ekonomiska skäl kan bara ett begränsat antal metaboliter inkluderas i den löpande nationella miljöövervakningen och en prioritering behöver därför göras. Denna prioritering bör göras i samråd med Naturvårdsverket och Kemikalieinspektionen och eventuellt andra berörda myndigheter.

Inflation continues to fall, but it is above the 3% target, and it is projected to continue falling until it reaches it in 2025. Economic growth is low, but it would recover, and by 2025, economic activity would reach a path that can be sustained over time without causing unwanted changes in inflation, employment, or the external balance. The current monetary policy interest rate is compatible with the convergence of inflation to the target in 2025 and with the recovery of economic growth in the next two years. • Annual inflation has been decreasing for a year and is projected to continue, with inflation at 5.5% in December and the 3% target to be reached in 2025. In March, total inflation was 7.4% and completed a year of reductions from the maximum recorded a year ago (13.3%). In the first quarter of this year, all the main components of inflation fell (food, services, goods, and regulated). • The decrease in inflation has been greater than expected due to the behavior of food prices and some goods. • The lower pressures of the exchange rate on prices, the slowdown in demand, and the completion of adjustments in fuel prices contributed to reducing inflation. • The reduction in inflation has been limited by the rise in some service rates, largely because several of these were updated with the high inflation observed (what is known as indexing). • The accumulated effect of monetary policy actions, weak demand in the presence of excess productive capacity of the economy, and an exchange rate behavior that would continue to exert downward pressures on prices will continue to contribute to the decrease in inflation and its convergence towards the 3% target. • There are some risks that could reduce inflation more slowly than projected, such as possible pent-up increases in public services and transport rates, an unexpected increase in the exchange rate and/or adverse weather conditions that affect food prices. The economy would recover in 2024, and by the end of the following year, it would reach a path that would not cause unwanted changes in inflation, employment, or the country’s external balance. • After the significant economic growth in 2022 (7.3%) that placed the GDP at high levels, the expansion of economic activity for 2023 was 0.6%. In the first quarter of 2024, the economy would have improved compared to what was observed at the end of 2023, driven by high levels of activity in the agricultural sector that reflect the high supply recorded in these months. • The necessary adjustment of economic activity occurred amid the accumulated effects of monetary policy actions to combat high inflation, high external financing costs, and low levels in businessmen’s and consumers’ confidence indicators. • The labor market continues to show unemployment rates at low levels compared to its history, although with deteriorations in employment in recent months. • Going forward, economic activity would continue to recover. This would occur in an environment of less restrictive external financing conditions, and reductions in the monetary policy interest rate, as inflation gradually approaches the 3% target. o For 2024, economic growth of 1.4% is projected, driven by consumption and despite a weak expected investment performance. o For 2025, growth would be 3.2%, with consumption that would continue to improve, an investment that would recover from the very low levels of 2024, and a gradual recovery of exports. • The lower growth of the Colombian economy has been reflected in a reduction of the broad external imbalance observed in 2022, which results in less vulnerability to changes in international conditions. Given the decline in inflation and its expectations, the slowing of domestic demand, and a more sustainable external balance, the Board of Directors of the Banco de la República decided at its April meeting to continue the monetary policy interest rate reductions, bringing it to 11.75%. • The stance of monetary policy has contributed to ameliorating the country’s macroeconomic imbalances, such as high inflation, excess spending and credit, and the wide external deficit. • In the context of decreasing inflation and adjusting some macroeconomic imbalances, the Board of Directors began to reduce the monetary policy interest rate from December 2023, with a total reduction of 150 basis points by April. • The current monetary policy interest rate is compatible with inflation, reaching the 3% target in 2025 and sustainable economic growth over time. La inflación sigue descendiendo, pero se ubica por encima de la meta del 3%, y se proyecta que continúe bajando hasta alcanzarla en 2025. El crecimiento económico es bajo, pero se recuperaría y en 2025 la actividad económica llegaría a una senda que se puede sostener en el tiempo sin causar cambios indeseados en la inflación, el empleo o el déficit externo. La tasa de interés de política monetaria actual es compatible con la convergencia de la inflación a la meta en 2025 y con la recuperación del crecimiento económico en los próximos dos años. La inflación anual completó un año reduciéndose. Las proyecciones indican que este comportamiento continuaría y la inflación se ubicaría en el 5,5% en diciembre y que se alcanzaría la meta del 3% en 2025. • En marzo la inflación total fue 7,4% y completó un año de reducciones desde el máximo registrado un año atrás (13,3%). En el primer trimestre de este año todos los principales componentes de la inflación cayeron (alimentos, servicios, bienes y regulados). • El descenso de la inflación ha resultado algo mayor de lo esperado debido al comportamiento de los precios de los alimentos y de algunos bienes. • Las menores presiones de la tasa de cambio sobre los precios, la desaceleración de la demanda y la finalización de los ajustes en los precios de los combustibles contribuyeron a reducir la inflación. • La reducción de la inflación se ha visto limitada por el alza en las tarifas de los servicios, en buena parte, porque varias de estas se actualizaron con la alta inflación observada (lo que se conoce como indexación). • Al descenso de la inflación y su convergencia hacia la meta del 3% seguirían contribuyendo el efecto acumulado de las acciones de política monetaria, una demanda débil en presencia de excesos de capacidad productiva de la economía y un comportamiento de la tasa de cambio que continuaría ejerciendo presiones bajistas sobre los precios. • Persisten algunos riesgos que podrían hacer que la inflación se reduzca de forma más lenta de lo proyectado como, por ejemplo, posibles aumentos represados en las tarifas de servicios públicos y transporte, un aumento no esperado de la tasa de cambio y/o condiciones climáticas adversas que afecten los precios de los alimentos. En 2024 la economía se recuperaría y al final del siguiente año alcanzaría una senda que no causaría cambios indeseados en la inflación, el empleo o el déficit externo del país • Después del significativo crecimiento de la economía en 2022 (7,3%) que situó al PIB en niveles altos, la expansión de la actividad económica para todo 2023 fue del 0,6%. Esto se daría en un entorno de condiciones de financiamiento externo menos restrictivas y de reducciones en la tasa de interés de política monetaria, a medida que la inflación se acerque gradualmente a la meta del 3%. o Para 2024 se proyecta un crecimiento económico del 1,4%, impulsado por el consumo y a pesar de un débil desempeño esperado de la inversión. o Para 2025 el crecimiento sería del 3,2%, con un consumo que continuaría mejorando, una inversión que se recuperaría desde los muy bajos niveles de 2024 y una recuperación gradual de las exportaciones. • El menor crecimiento de la economía colombiana se ha reflejado en una reducción del amplio desequilibrio externo observado en 2022 y resulta, por ende, en una menor vulnerabilidad ante los cambios en las condiciones internacionales. Dada la disminución de la inflación y de sus expectativas, la moderación de la demanda interna y el balance externo más sostenible, la Junta Directiva del Banco de la República, decidió en su reunión de abril continuar con la reducción de la tasa de interés de política monetaria, ubicándola en 11,75%. • La postura de la política monetaria ha contribuido a la disminución de los desequilibrios macroeconómicos del país, como, por ejemplo, la alta inflación, los excesos de gasto y crédito, y el fuerte déficit externo. • En un contexto de disminución de la inflación y ajustes de algunos desbalances macroeconómicos, la Junta Directiva comenzó desde diciembre de 2023 a reducir la tasa de interés de política monetaria, acumulando 150 puntos básicos. • La tasa de interés actual es compatible con que la inflación alcance la meta del 3% en 2025 y el crecimiento económico sea sostenible en el tiempo.
