The research, entitled " Effect of different planting dates on tuber production in dahlia (Dahlia variabilis L.) in low hill conditions of Himachal Pradesh" was carried out at RHRTS Dhaulakuan, Ponta Sahib (HP). The study aimed to investigate the impact of different planting dates on tuber production in five dahlia cultivars (Anarkali, Gargi, Giani Zail Singh, Matungini and Suryadev) in low hill. Three planting dates (September 15th, October 15th and November 15th) were chosen for evaluating vegetative parameters. Plant height (109.61 cm) and internodal length (10.34 cm) both were found to be optimal in the cultivar Suryadev. Furthermore, the cultivar Matungini exhibited the highest plant spread (42.72 cm). In terms of tuber production, Anarkali demonstrated superior performance in tuber weight (368.90 g), and tuber yield per plot (2.00 kg). Conversely, Matungini excelled in the number of tubers per plant (4.69), tuber length (13.24 cm) and tuber diameter (30.25 mm), while Giani Zail Singh showcased the best tuber diameter. The planting date of October 15th was identified as highly suitable for optimal tuber production across all parameters under low hill climatic conditions.

Numerous individuals believe that non-motorized modes normally, walking, cycling, and biking, are less privileged to utilize public roads than motor vehicles. More often, pedestrians and cyclists are not facilitated to use the public road to avoid traffic delays. This highlights the biasness of transportation planning practices towards motorized travel and constant negligence in the planning of pedestrian infrastructure. Pedestrianization is adopted as a distinctive practice around the globe; it implies the expulsion of vehicular traffic from the avenues of urban regions as it holds significant social, affordable, and ecological advantages. But in Pakistan, there are no such instances of pedestrianization, especially in Lahore there are three models Liberty Market, Anarkali and Fortress Stadium. In Anarkali Market pedestrianization venture was a disappointment, while in Liberty Market pedestrianization task is a triumph. This study explores the factors contributing to the success of pedestrianization through literature review and detailed survey from shopkeepers and pedestrians of Liberty Market. It was gleaned out that landscaping, street furniture and overall ambience are not the only factors for the success of a pedestrianization, but security, parking facilities, adherence to law and maintenance of order plays a vital role as well.

Lahore, a city with Aurenhammer, is the second largest city of Pakistan. The antiquities of Lahore span over three historic periods including pre-colonial, colonial and post-independence periods. Colonial period laid the foundations of modern Lahore with Indo- Islamic style of architecture. To connect Anarkali with the new British administrative area known as Mian Mir Cantonment, a public road was built that was later named Mall Road. This research paper is a descriptive evaluation of the literature available on Mall Road, Lahore and is an attempt to disclose the concept of this road and to unveil the developments on this promising public road made by the British; hence, it will provide the reader a glimpse of the Mall Road, Lahore. This paper concludes the Mall Road as the representative of a rich urban character and as a hub of different activities which made it the spine of the city during the colonial era.

Lahore is an ancient city known for its diverse culture, art, and history, which is nearly 2,000 years old. Before the partition of the subcontinent, Lahore served as a home not only to Muslims but also to Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Hindus, and other religions. There were many places of worship built for different religions at that time. After partition, the majority of the Hindus migrated to India and left behind their abandoned worship places, that is, temples. These temples were occupied by the Muslims who migrated to Lahore from India. With the passage of time, they have declined significantly and need proper measures for their preservation. These abandoned temples are one of the significant remains of Lahore’s rich cultural background. Therefore, it is imperative to conserve these structures. One of the historically significant temples is the Old Basuli Hanuman temple. This study mainly focuses on the conservation of this prestigious temple, located on Aibak Road adjacent to the new Anarkali Bazar. It attempts to identify the barriers to the conservation of Hindu temples and formulates strategies that can be used for their conservation. These may include the restoration or reconstruction of the temple back to its original identity or changing it to a completely different economically and aesthetically beneficial structure. Furthermore, this study aims to pave the way for the preservation not only of the Old Basuli Hanuman temple but also of other neglected heritage sites.

India is a country with a rich multicultural history. And the Indian audience has a thirst to know their past. As an immersive art form, a film can transport its viewer into the world that is depicted on the screen, and thus history has been a popular subject for film makers and audience. A journey that started in the 1950s with films like Anarkali has continued over the years with films like Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Legend of Bhagat Singh, Manikarna: Queen of Jhansi, Samrat Prithviraj and so many others. The journey for these films to the silver screen in recent years has not been an easy one, with many a historical film facing dissent from several sections in India. Perhaps one of the most widespread controversies in recent decades has been over the film Padmaavat that released in the year 2018.This study explored the censorship debate that surrounded the film from 2017-2018 and the various factors and sides involved in it. The film that was panned by various groups was still a huge success at the box office. Using a case study approach, this research analysed this multi-faceted response to the historical film. Along with an in-depth analysis of the controversy, the present work also assessed the narrative tools, theme, characters, plot and other storytelling elements that have been employed in the making of the film. This helped construct a clear and concise timeline of the controversy and also to understand how a film maker may create a successful and engaging period film.

La entrada de un grupo de anarquistas por Vera* de Bidasoa la transfiguró literariamente Pío Baroja en el «Libro segundo» de la novela-crónica La familia de Errotacho. Lo más destacable en la literaturización de los acontecimientos, aun conociendo el anticlericalismo del escritor vasco, es la exagerada deformación parcial de la realidad respecto al comportamiento con los detenidos del obispo de Pamplona. *Mantenemos este topónimo con «v» porque así aparece escrito en todos los periódicos de entonces. ABSTRACT At the end of 1924 there were several revolutionary incursions from France in order to overthrow the Primo de Rivera’s Dictatorship. The irruption of an anarchist group through Vera* de Bidasoa was changed into literature in the «Segundo libro» of the chronical-novel La familia de Errotacho. The most remarkable thing when a writer registers the events as literature, even knowing the anticlericalism of the Basque writer, is the partial exaggeration of the reality regarding the behaviour to the arrested ones by the bishop of Pamplona. * We write this toponym with «v» because this way appears in all the newspapers of that time.

Abstract Bacteria were isolated from samples of Fresh Apple juices from shops of three different localities of Lahore. Analysis of samples from Liberty, Anarkali and Yateem khana Markets show different levels of contamination. There were pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria in all samples and were identified by the morphological and biochemical tests. Most of the plasmids of pathogenic bacteria were 4kb in their molecular size. Ribotyping of 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequencing was done to confirm Helicobacter pylori strain and Gluconobacter oxydans. The highest sensitivity of 210mm was shown by Enterobacter sp. against Aztheromysine disk (15µg) while Micrococcus sp. was highly resistant against all of the Antibiotics applied. The antibiotic resistance of pathogenic bacteria was also checked against Ricinus communis plant's extracts, all isolated bacterial pathogens were resistant but only, E.coli was inhibited at 300µl of the extracts. Presence of pathogenic bacteria in Apple juice samples was due to contamination of sewage water in drinking water while some of these pathogenic bacteria came from Apple's tree and other from store houses of fruits.

Cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) are toxic environmental pollutants. These heavy metals create serious health issues in consumers. The current study aimed to identify the quantity of lead and cadmium in broiler chicken, including in its liver and kidneys, since the demand for chicken meat as a food source is increasing day by day. Forty (40) broiler chickens were purchased from the various markets of Lahore, Pakistan including the markets of Sadar Cantt area, Shahdra, Alkarim park, Anarkali, and Muslim town. These chickens were collected, processed, and analyzed to determine the levels of lead and cadmium in their internal organs (liver and kidneys) using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. This process was carried out in the laboratory of PCSIR after the digestion of all samples via nitric acid (HNOз) and hydrogen peroxide using the wet digestion method. The range of the mean concentration of lead (4.50 - 8.50ug /g) and cadmium (25.00 - 27.75 ug/g) in the internal organs of broiler chicken exceeded the permissible level of 0.05% recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). ANOVA analysis revealed that the presence of heavy metals was not significant in the internal organs of broiler meat collected from different areas of Lahore, since the p-value was greater than the significance level (p > 0.05). Hence, heavy metal concentrations were recorded as above the permissible level recommended by the WHO.

Background: Pakistan being 7th populous country is facing a high Neonatal Mortality Rate and it is reported that acute gastroenteritis is one of the major factor to this high Neonatal Mortality Rate. Avoiding colostrums and giving some prelacteal feed are contributory factors for gastroenteritis. Which ultimately leads to high Neonatal Mortality Rate.Objectives:-To study the first feed practice adopted by lactating mothers in a community in Lahore. Study design. Cross sectional community based survey. Place and duration of the study:- Dubhi mandi near old Anarkali Lahore from January 2002 to June 2002. Respondants and methods: - 180 mothers who delivered in the previous year were listed and interviewed on structured pre tested questionnaire. Results: 32% mothers feed colostrums, and 68% started with other items like honey 27%, ghutti 18%, Araq 8%, water & sugar 4%, cow and formula milk 12%. Out of (122) those who did not started with colostrums, 59% done it intentionally under the influence of family traditions /taboos of either avoiding colostrums being a stale food or to get the first feed by a person of good fortune, 31% missed by ignorance and 10% due to medical reasons. Out of 58 `mothers who started with costume 45% were motivated by health professionals, 39% by relatives/friends and 20% by media. Conclusion: It is conclude that still prelacteal feed is common practice. It is also observed that people change this practice under the guidance of health professionals . So situation can be improved by increasing liaison of pregnant mothers with health professionals ,who should continuously motivate the mother during pregnancy and delivery, to start with colostrums with in half hour of delivery.
