Abstract (sommario):
Abstract This article uses multidimensional scaling and correspondence analysis to explore how international airline passengers position various air carriers. The analysis has produced perceptual maps of relative positions of airlines and their service attributes. Empirical data were collected from Taiwanese air passengers who had flown from Taipei to Tokyo and to Singapore. Factor analysis was performed to reduce a large number of airline service attributes into a small set of underlying factors. The results of multidimensional scaling analyses reveal that some air carriers are closely competitive; this can be seen by their close proximity in the perceptual map. However, certain airlines possess a unique service quality profile and are not strongly associated with other airlines; such unique firms appear as isolated points on the perceptual map. Interestingly, both multidimensional scaling and correspondence analysis produce similar perceptual maps of the airlines' relative positions and service attributes. However, the advantage of correspondence analysis over multidimensional scaling is that data collection is relatively quick and easy because the analyst is not required to obtain respondents' ratings for each attribute. This study provides specific suggestions about how air carriers on each route can use the results to improve their performance or to build a differential edge.

Abstract (sommario):
The article analyzes the performance of low-cost air carriers in the regional context and in comparison with the activities of classical airlines. The tendency of growth of performance indicators of airline companies that have used this model during all the years since its inception is determined. The main factors influencing the growth of the low-cost segment in the total volume of air transportation are analyzed. It is determined that the dynamic growth to 31% of the total number of air transportation in the world is due to an increase in the number of passengers as a result of efficiency measures taken by low-cost airlines aimed at increasing the passenger load factor, reducing costs and improving the organizational structure. The tendency of development of low-cost airlines in the Ukrainian aviation market is characterized. A comparison of the LCC and FSC models by the main features is made. The cost structure, the difference in costs of airlines using different models, and the reasons for this are described. The route models used by classic airlines and low-cost airlines are described. The impact of primary and secondary costs from the introduction of a new low-cost airline on the costs of other economic agents is described. The effects arising from the introduction of a new low-cost airline are determined. The consequences of changes in the LCC and FSC models caused by the convergence process are investigated. The signs of a hybrid model that can become more attractive to a wide range of consumers, which, in turn, will contribute to the growth of passenger traffic and strengthen the airline's position in the market, are determined.

Abstract (sommario):
Background: Low-cost carrier (LCC) is a popular air transportation service as it offers affordable fares. Many airlines have adopted the LCC system because they need to adapt to the changes in the airline industry. The competition is tight. Despite the low cost, consumers demand quality services. Therefore, LCC airlines need to find their competitive edge. Objective: This study aims to determine the best-performing LCC airlines, the criteria, and the sub-criteria to improve the performance. Methods: This study uses two methods from multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), namely the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and elimination et choix traduisant la realite (ELECTRE) II. The MCDM is selected for this study because there are four criteria and 21 sub-criteria to evaluate airline performance. The AHP method selects subcriteria that affect airline customer satisfaction. It solves complex problems by establishing a hierarchy. After being assessed by relevant parties, weights or priorities are developed. The results are used to determine the best-performing airline. Meanwhile, the ELECTRE II method ranks the airline’s alternatives. This method is straightforward and widely used in the MCDM. Results: The results indicate that four criteria and 18 sub-criteria affect the performance of LCC airlines in Indonesia. The LCC airline with the best performance is AirAsia, followed by Citilink, Wings Air, and Lion Air. Conclusion: This research integrates the AHP and ELECTRE II methods in evaluating the performance of LCC airlines. This research also provides information about the criteria and sub-criteria to improve airline performance, hence, the customer experience.

Abstract (sommario):
The airline business strategy determines the competitiveness of the airline services but may also bear antitrust risks of discrimination and abuse of dominance. The study describes the features of the passenger air transportation industry (both at the carrier level and at the airport level), which allow to distinguish groups of airline business models. This is necessary for the subsequent analysis of antitrust risks in the air transportation markets. The article also provides a comparative analysis of the airport tariffs in the Russian Federation in relation to the ability of airports to stimulate competition between airlines. In conclusion the main problems of the passenger air transportation sector of the Russian Federation in the context of competition policy are formulated.

Abstract (sommario):
To identify the trends of air transportation market development in Ukraine during the period 2010–2018, the analysis of the riskiness of the external market environment of airlines being the major market actors and main factors, which influence the air transportation market development, were made in the paper using statistical methods and methods of probability theory. The working hypothesis was proved on corresponding the main trends of air transportation market development in Ukraine with the world ones and the very high riskiness of the external environment of the airlines. There is some local specifics of the air transportation market in Ukraine connected with the armed conflict at the East of the country, a significant impact of non-economic factors in some years, and implementation of international safety standards. The COVID-19 impact is considered only as a discussion question. The originality of the paper is in discussing the modern trends of air transportation market development in Ukraine in the context of considering the interaction “subject – poly-subject environment”. The airlines are considered as the subjects that interact with a market as an external poly-subject environment. The results of the research identified that the riskiness of the external market environment is at the critical level for the majority of the studied airlines that does not contribute to successful business activity in Ukraine. European and Ukrainian official authorities can use the obtained results during the development and implementation of the joined cooperation in the sphere of air transportation. Besides, in the context of COVID-19, the trends of imroving aviation safety and satisfying international standards are becoming increasingly important for airlines as well as for state authorities in developing the appropriate state policy.

Abstract (sommario):
Methods for analyzing the economic activity of airlines and forecasting the prerequisites for bankruptcy of airlines is becoming an important task for development of the industry. In past years, there were examples of a sound negative experience related to bankruptcy of airlines. At the same time, the main volume indicators of the airlines concerned had got positive dynamics shortly before the bankruptcy and were considered by BCG matrix as evident «stars» in terms of growth in production volumes and in the share of the air transportation market. In Russia that was the case of Sibir airlines which in 2007–2008 barely avoided bankruptcy, as well as of Transaero Airlines that has left the air transportation market forever. The first lowcost airlines, Skyexpress and Avianova, went bankrupt amid high growth in the number of passengers transported. The task of the research was to create a model that allows to simulate the situation associated with the airline overcoming the so-called «second break-even point». To forecast the possible time period for the airline to receive an operating loss against the background of growing volume indicators, production and financial indicators of one of the leading Russian airlines were used. The method of research is modelling of volume and financial indicators of the airline activity. The model is proposed to be built not on the study of future changes in the growth of volume and financial indicators, but on the study of dynamics of the rate of change of those indicators. The study is based on the fact that the dynamics of air transportation has a cyclical basis, which is invisible when directly analyzing changes in production and financial indicators, and which is on the contrary clearly visible when studying the dynamics of the rates of those indicators, which makes it possible to simulate a situation when the airline will have an operational loss in the future.

Abstract (sommario):
Understanding the economic characteristics of the U.S. airline industry, assessing the degree of competition/rivalry among the competing airline businesses in the U.S. airline industry, and (3) making recommendations to the airlines and to the consumers of air transportation are the primary objectives of this research study. The authors analyze the rivalry among major U.S. airlines operating in the domestic market using datasets extracted from Bureau of Transportation Statistics for operations during a 12-month period ending in May 2019. Amongst the 17 major U.S. airlines, whose annual operational revenue is over $1 billion, a set of top-five airlines has been identified using the percentage of their marketshare. The research findings indicate that these five major airlines have an intense rivalry in the U.S. domestic market in terms of number of markets served, number of departures made, number of passengers transported, amount of cargo carried, load factor, revenue and cost of operations, profit and loss, and net income earned. Hence, these airlines put pressure on one another and limit each other’s profit potential.

Abstract (sommario):
Air transport is by its very nature one of the most international of economic activities. However, until fairly recently, its regulatory framework has been premised on an overriding nationalism developed and maintained on the basis of the following: substantial ownership and effective control provisions found in national legislation and most bilateral air transport agreements; restrictions on cabotage found in national legislation, most bilateral air transport agreements and Article 7 of the Chicago Convention; and the related national restrictions on the right of establishment applicable to national carriers.
However, as the international component of the air transport industry has grown in importance, the tenets underlying this restrictive regulatory system are increasingly coming into question. This thesis examines the development of international airline co-operation and integration, namely by way of mergers, franchises and alliances, in the face of the existing regulatory obstacles. It examines the legal impediments to, the form of, and the costs and benefits of each of these integrative methods and their various derivatives. Finally, it traces the regulatory responses to these integrative activities, and explores the possibility and methodology of creating a truly global airline, both in form and in function.

Abstract (sommario):

The dynamics of business contexts influence the way firms act in their industry. These changes can have effects in several areas within a company. Entrepreneurship and Innovation are two areas that are affected when a change in firm’s environment occurs, like Schumpeter, Shane and Drucker point. Changes in the deregulatory framework are a specific type of change that can occur. According to Entrepreneurship theories, the removal of regulatory barriers creates opportunities to different reallocation of resources that can lead to changes in market equilibrium. This study addresses this relation between deregulation and entrepreneurship-innovation in the European airline industry. With the removal of regulatory barriers, companies like SAS and Ryanair, saw opportunities to do something new and at the same time had to adapt to these “doing something new” behavior of other companies. Entrepreneurship and innovation were the answer to theses changes and the weapon to fight answers to others with this change. Considering this, our statement problem is the following:

How did the deregulation of air transportation in Europe foster entrepreneurial behavior and innovation in the European airline industry over the last twenty years? The case of SAS and Ryanair.

Our goal is to describe the process of deregulation and how firms reacted to it and to give explanations behind the relation deregulation-entrepreneurship, identifying the direct and indirect influence of deregulation in the studied companies. Furthermore, based on this investigation, we will trace possible ways on how future deregulation in Europe can foster further entrepreneurial behavior and innovation.

This thesis was conducted with a positivism scientific ideal and a deductive approach. We used a qualitative method to collect empirical data that could match with the theories we had chosen beforehand. We conducted three interviews with people inside the industry – from airlines (SAS Braathens and SAS) and from airports (LFV). The first two were used as main sources to SAS case study and the third to have a perspective of airline industry. Since we could not get any interview with Ryanair, Ryanair story book was used as main source for this case study.

Our theoretical framework consists of four different broad areas that are interrelated to each other. These areas and the respective theories integrated in them are: institutions and regulation, changes in context and strategic position.

Our study shows that EU deregulation altered the five competitive forces in European airline industry and in turn this fostered entrepreneurship and innovation, as a reaction of firms to adapt to the change in their context. The reaction of Ryanair and SAS through entrepreneurial and innovative behaviour was different due to the differences in their business model. We argue that the removal of barriers to new entrants and the increased rivalry between firms were the main forces that fostered entrepreneurship and innovation. We predict that if further EU deregulation comes (as it is the trend) this will generate more opportunities to entrepreneurship and innovation like it generated in the past.

Abstract (sommario):

At a time of increased use and competitiveness amongst U.S. regional airlines, and the growing pilot shortage, regional air carriers and pilots alike lack proper understanding how pilot commutes by airplane affect satisfaction with life. There are numerous studies on how commuting by vehicle, bicycle, mass transit system, or walking (traditional commute) to and from work affects one’s satisfaction with life. There are no identified studies which investigate regional airline pilots’ commute by airplane and its affect on satisfaction with life.

The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge on regional airline pilot commutes, how commuting affects regional pilots’ satisfaction with life, and to explore why regional airline pilots choose to commute. This study used both qualitative and quantitative measures to accomplish this task by imploring a mixed methods exploratory sequential design. The two research questions were what is the variation in the Satisfaction With Life Scale scores between different groups of regional pilots and what aspects of pilot commuting are related to traditional commuting?

This study used previous related research and regional airline pilot qualitative interviews to build a quantitative survey to measure satisfaction with life. The survey was distributed to a large regional airline to get a representative pilot population sample response. Statistical analysis was conducted on the responses which looked for significance between different groups of regional airline pilots.

Results from a t-test indicated that there is a significant difference in Satisfaction With Life Scores for regional pilots that are able to traditionally commute to their domicile vs. regional pilots who commute by airplane to their domicile. Further t-test results indicated that there is a significant difference in satisfaction with life for airplane commute captains vs. traditional commute captains, and airplane commute captains vs. traditional commute first officers. When only airplane commute pilots were analyzed, there are significant differences in satisfaction with life for pilots that commute over 43.33 hours a month (equivalent to one hour, one way traditional commute), and a one way airplane commute of two or more legs. A Between-Groups ANOVA indicated that commuting the day before a trip begins and commuting the day after a trip ends (un-commutable trip) produces a less satisfied pilot compared to trips that are commutable at the beginning, end or both ends.

Nowadays we cannot imagine our life without air transportations. Transportation plays a huge role not only in everyday life, but also in the formation of the economy and gross domestic product both domestically and internationally. Air transportation is the carriage of passengers, mail, load and freight by aircraft and helicopters and all types of air transportations are classified according to the territorial sign, to objects of transportation and to direction of transportation. Air transport entered our life like no other and was able to bring dreams into reality by the safety, comfort and speed. In 2020, aviation faced problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which made adjustments to the plans of all airlines around the world. That is why the main goal of this work is to analyze how the pandemic influenced two of the best airline around the world – Lufthansa.

Leader, Joseph Paul. "The Adoption and Diffusion of the Air Taxi/Air Charter Travel Innovation". ScholarWorks, 2018. https://scholarworks.waldenu.edu/dissertations/5366.

Testo completo
Abstract (sommario):
The inefficient use and knowledge of direct, on-demand air taxi/air charter flights in the United States was the topic of this dissertation. The general problem studied was the inefficient use of air transportation options by business travelers in the United States. The specific problem was how business travelers in the United States learn of and thereby elect to embrace a newer air travel option. Using Rogers's diffusion of innovations theory as the framework, the dissemination of air travel choices made by business travelers using ImagineAir air taxi service in the United States was explored via a qualitative case study research design methodology. Thirty-five semistructured interviews and matching customer database information provided data for the study, Data were later analyzed for emergent themes and codes using MAXQDA software. Key research questions included communication of the innovation, business travelers' perceptions of the innovation, timeframe of innovation adoption, business environment enabling the innovation adoption, and the Rogers self-described adopter type. The results showed that compatibility, relative advantage, risk, and complexity influence the perception of business travelers about air taxi services. Based on the research, the course of action suggests that business travelers will most rapidly embrace air taxi service via internet dissemination of this new option. With continued success in dissemination, positive social change will come in the form of efficiencies as business travelers use more than 5,000 virtually idle airports and over 7,000 on-demand air taxi aircraft as highlighted by U.S. government studies further bolstered by this research.

Abstract (sommario):
The 1980s can easily be qualified as the most important decade in the history of Canadian commercial aviation as it was witness to two important phenomena. To begin with, after six decades of stringent regulation and control, the State finally realized that international trends and domestic needs dictated a drastic reduction in the role it played in the economic affairs of its airlines. Airline deregulation thus became a reality in Canada and as such, a detailed review of the process leading to the adoption of the National Transportation Act, 1987, as well as an extensive legal analysis of the legislation itself are warranted.
The second major development was the extremely rapid process of consolidation, precipitated mainly by deregulation, into an industry dominated by two airlines; a duopoly. The implications arising from this situation for present and future competition in the Canadian air transport industry, as viewed from a market contestability perspective, need to be assessed.

Abstract (sommario):
This work describes the development of the Air Passenger Transportation database. The database is an important tool for airlines in improving the efficiency and quality of their work. Its use can help air carriers to reduce the time and reduce the costs of various processes that are associated with the organization of air travel. The use of databases in air transportation is an effective way to ensure more accurate and faster decision-making, increase control and management of transportation processes, improve the quality of passenger service and increase the profitability of the airline. A conceptual database model using an ER diagram has been developed. The data schema "entity - relationship" with the indication of attributes is constructed. In the Access DBMS, objects of the Main button form, several linking forms have been created, queries have been compiled in SQL, a report.

Abstract (sommario):
Air transportation has been being expanded remarkably, and its growth is expected to continue in the coming decades. Environmental issues and airlines require gas turbine manufacturers to produce environmentally friendly gas-turbine engines with lower emissions and improved specific fuel consumption. These requirements can be met by incorporating heat exchangers into gas turbines for intercooling and recuperation. Relevant research in such areas as the design of a heat exchanger matrix, materials selection, and manufacturing technology and optimization has been carried out by a variety of researchers. These works are reviewed in this paper. The recent advance in technologies appears to herald the development of intercoolers and recuperators for civil aeroplane gas turbines. Based on results reported in previous studies, potential heat exchanger designs for an aero gas turbine recuperator, intercooler, and cooling-air cooler are suggested.

Abstract (sommario):
The increasingly emphasized need for achieving an optimal level of security within the cyber environment of "insecurity" and the growing dependence on information technology have created real conditions for developing wide range of new risks, threats and dangers, including the cyber terrorism. Keeping in mind the complexity of cyberspace and the reality that cyber-attacks are inevitable, developing a strong and effective security policy is more and more directed in the area of civil aviation as one of the most complex systems, specifically integrated in the global information and communication technology. Aviation, as the most dynamic and fastest growing industry and at the same time the safest way of transport, is promoting a universal standardized level of safety and security, supported by relevant legislation, advanced systems and technologies and appropriate educational and training programs. The aviation as a global transport system, in terms of functional layout, can be provisionally subdivided into three subsystems: airports, airlines and air traffic management. Each of them consists of several functional elements: system user, infrastructure, controls, procedures, technologies, technical and human resources, etc., and all of them are vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Because of this, the aim of this paper is to analyze the ongoing practices and activities that play significant role for the development of cyber security within the civil aviation sector all over the world, with an accent to the European air transportation system. The paper is describing the key factors and specific security activities and initiatives within ICAO, IATA, IFALPA, ECAC, EASA, and specially EUROCONTROL, providing accurate information of what is being and must be done on international and national level about this issue. At the same time, the paper should raise the common awareness about the significance of the need to implement contemporary aids, new technologies and advanced trainings in aim to improve the civil aviation safety and security. Keywords: civil aviation, cyber-attacks, cybercrime, data breaches, security, safety

Abstract (sommario):
Aircraft sizing, route network design, demand estimation and allocation of aircraft to routes are different facets of the air transportation optimization problem that can be viewed as individual “systems,” since they can be conducted independently. In fact, there is a large body of literature that investigates each of these as a stand-alone problem. In this regard, the air transportation design optimization problem can be viewed as an optimal system-of-systems (SoS) design problem. The resulting mixed variable programming problem cannot be solved all-in-one (AiO) because its size and complexity grow exponentially with increasing number of network nodes. In this work, we use a nested multidisciplinary formulation and the Mesh Adaptive Direct Search (MADS) optimization algorithm to solve the optimal SoS design problem. The expansion of a regional Canadian airline’s network to enable national operations is considered as an example.

Abstract (sommario):
Deployment of high-speed passenger rail services has occurred around the world in densely-populated corridors, often with the effect of either creating or enhancing a unified economic “megaregion” agglomeration. This paper will review the technical characteristics of a variety of megaregion corridors, including Japan (Tokyo-Osaka), France (Paris-Lyon), and Germany (Frankfurt-Cologne), and their economic impacts. There are many lessons to be drawn from the deployment and ongoing operation of high-speed passenger rail service in these corridors for other countries now considering similar projects, such as the US and parts of the European Union. First, we will review three international cases, describing the physical development of each corridor as well as its measured impacts on economic development. In each case, the travel time reductions of the high-speed service transformed the economic boundaries of the urban agglomerations, integrating labor and consumer markets, while often simultaneously raising concerns about the balance of growth within the region. Moreover, high-speed travel within the regions has had important implications for the modes and patterns of travel beyond the region, particularly with respect to long-distance air travel. An example is the code-shared rail-air service between DeutscheBahn and Lufthansa in the Frankfurt-Cologne corridor. Next, we will examine the implications of these international experiences for high-speed rail deployment elsewhere in the world, particularly the US and Portugal, one of the EU countries investing in high-speed rail. Issues considered include the suitability of high-speed passenger rail service in existing megaregions as well as the potential for formation of megaregions in other corridors. By understanding the impact of high-speed passenger service on economic growth, labor markets, urban form, and the regional distribution of economic activity, planners can better anticipate and prepare countermeasures for any negative effects of high-speed rail. Examples of countermeasures include complementary investments in urban and regional transit connections and cooperation with airlines and other transportation service operators. High-speed passenger rail represents a substantial investment whose implementation and ultimate success depends on a wide range of factors. Among them is the ability of planners and decision-makers to make a strong case for the sharing of benefits across a broad geography, both within and beyond the megaregion (and potential megaregion) corridors where service is most likely to be provided. This paper provides some useful lessons based on international experiences.

Abstract (sommario):
The aviation industry is characterized by innovation, change management, and human factors implementation in flight operations. The aviation industry anticipates the Single Pilot Operations (SiPO) implementation in commercial airliners. Further de-crewing on commercial airline jets would necessitate using artificial intelligence (AI) in the flight deck to support the pilot duties. This paper outlines human factors and ergonomics (HF/E) certification concerns regarding Human System Integration (HSI). The International Air Transportation Authority's (IATA) Technology Roadmap (IATA, 2019) and the European Aviation Safety Agency's (EASA) Artificial Intelligence (AI) roadmap give an overview and evaluation of current technology trends that will change the aviation environment with the use of AI and the introduction of extended Minimum Crew Operations (eMCO) and Single Pilot Operations (SiPO). A review of the existing research on Artificial Intelligence certification challenges in single pilot operations structured the research themes in cockpit design and users' perception-experience. AI certification challenges in future single pilot operations were examined through interviews with Subject Matter Experts (Human Factors analysts, AI analysts, regulators, test pilots, manufacturers, airline managers, examiners, instructors, qualified pilots, and pilots in training) and questionnaires were sent to a group of professional pilots and pilots in training. In the current regulatory environment, the associated risk-based approach for systems, equipment, and components is primarily driven by a requirements-based "development assurance" methodology during the development of their elements. Although system-level assurance may still necessitate a requirements-based approach, it is acknowledged that design-level layers that rely on learning processes – learning assurance cannot be addressed with only 'development assurance' techniques. Moreover, this research focuses on mitigating residual risk in the 'AI black box.' Results were analyzed and evaluated the Artificial Intelligence (AI) certification and learning assurance challenges under the future single pilot operations aspect.

Abstract (sommario):
The dual mode air-road vehicle is one of those concepts that have intrigued travelers and inventors for a long time. The quest for a vehicle that can be driven on the roads and flown in the sky started as early as the development of airplane by Wright brothers in 1906. With the ever growing traffic and congestion on the roads, increased security procedures at airports and airline hub-spoke system, the travel times for certain range of distances have increased in recent times creating a need for a dual mode vehicle. In the US, for the mid-range distances (200–500 mile), travel options available are limited for other than large population centers. Transportation by train or bus is often limited and involves multi-stops between desired destinations. Therefore, the mid-range travel is more likely accomplished by a car or an airline or sometimes both. Travel by car or airline for this ranged can consumes considerable time because of road, airport and air traffic congestions, security procedures and wait times. A survey published in 2004 by Bureau of Transportation Statistics [1] reveals that 200–500 mile trips account for about 31.8% of the total trips taken in the US. With the premise that a dual mode vehicle could be a potential solution for mid-range travel, particularly around a 300 mile distance, the present work aims at establishing a frame-work and performance envelope for this type vehicle, In other words, the roadable aircraft or the flying car. These vehicles are neither a high performance car nor a high performance aircraft. They are vehicles that have the capability to be driven on the roads and flown in the sky. The present study focuses on identifying the technical, operational and acceptability challenges that have to be overcome to build a dual mode vehicle. This paper also covers some preliminary design aspects like power-fuel requirements, wing-airfoil parameters and an approach to address the road mode issues arising due to the wing.

Abstract (sommario):
A large international airport is a microcosm of the entire aviation sector, hosting hundreds of different types of aviation and non-aviation stakeholders: aircraft, passengers, airlines, travel agencies, air traffic management and control, retails shops, runway systems, building management, ground transportation, and much more. Their associated information technology and cyber physical systems—along with an exponentially resultant number of interconnections—present a massive cybersecurity challenge. Unlike the physical security challenge, which was treated in earnest throughout the last decades, cyber-attacks on airports keep coming, but most airport lack essential means to confront such cyber-attacks. These missing means are not technical tools, but rather holistic regulatory directives, technical and process standards, guides, and best practices for airports cybersecurity—even airport cybersecurity concepts and basic definitions are missing in certain cases. Unsettled Topics Concerning Airport Cybersecurity Standards and Regulation offers a deeper analysis of these issues and their causes, focusing on the unique characteristics of airports in general, specific cybersecurity challenges, missing definitions, and conceptual infrastructure for the standardization and regulation of airports cybersecurity. This last item includes the gaps and challenges in the existing guides, best-practices, standards, and regulation pertaining to airport cybersecurity. Finally, practical solution-seeking processes are proposed, as well as some specific potential frameworks and solutions.
