Because of the changing of the social environment, extended family has gradually transformed to various family types. Grandparenting has been the phenomenon that needs to explore. The purpose of this study was to understand the correlation between grandparenting indigenous family and its life satisfaction. A qualitative questionnaire survey was conducted. Data from three dimensions, personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation, were collected from resident at Jen Ai Township, Nantou County. A total of 296 effective questionnaires were gathered and examined by descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffle post hoc analysis. Results showed that (1) the satisfaction degree of the grandparenting indigenous family in Jen Ai Township is positive. The order of the high satisfaction degree ranged from family involvement, social participation, to personal attitudes respectively; (2) in terms of social participation, female’s life satisfaction was higher than male’s; (3) regarding personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation, ages above 65 had the highest life satisfaction; (4) concerning social participation, financial status from 10001 to 15000 NTD showed difference; (5) personal attitudes, family involvement, and social participation of the grandparenting families indicated significance which explains their positive and affirmative life satisfaction. Lastly, this study proposed some suggestions to grandparenting grandparents, educational units, social organizations and our government in laying the groundwork for the related researchers. It is anticipated that life satisfaction of the grandparenting indigenous family may be more positive in the future. Keywords: Indigenous people, Grandparenting, Life satisfaction

Testo completoFramework: Family is the closest relational context to an individual, as well as his first collective experience, and has a determinant role on the children’s integration to a new school context. The search for a more equitable and effective relationship between school and family entails a greater participation/involvement from parents and those in charge of the child’s education on the school system’s life and, therefore, programs for teachers, such as the Incredible Years - Teacher Classroom Management (IY-TCM) can promote a collaborative relationship between school and family. Goals: To understand, from the parents and teachers’ perspectives, the impact of the Incredible Years program - Teacher Classroom Management (IY-TCM), applied to preschool teachers during the children’s last year of preschool, on the involvement of parents by the time children progress to the 1st grade. Methods: 210 children whose parents and teachers completed the Parental Involvement Questionnaires – teachers’ version and parents’ version – participated in the study. Results: According to the teachers’ perspective, parents of the experimental group were the most involved on their children’s education, while the relationship they perceived to have with parents was better with those in the control group. Questionnaires completed by parents didn’t reveal statistically significant differences between the two groups under study in any of the scales. Discussion and conclusions: In general, and considering the results, this study may represent a contribution in understanding the importance of implementing programs like the Incredible Years in several contexts: both at the school level (kindergarten teachers and 1st grade teachers) and at the family level (parents), given the value that parental involvement and a healthy relationship between school and family assume in the transition to the first grade.
