Standing between domesctic services and caring, work contract and free gift, professionalization and familiarization, the relationship requires building up and cannot be set the outside. Therefor the study of the help relationship within a clinic psychosocial approach based on the very words of the protagonists unveils clashes, agreements sometimes discrepancies between expectations and solutions from social subjects. Based on service it can evolve towards a relationship which has become the very object, showing at the same time the desired career of home helps from a relationship based on service to serve the relationship itself. Eventually, the purpose of the present study is to highlight the diversity of the needs of the Elderly and also focus on a professional practice which still craves for a genuine recognition from society

Testo completoToday’s working world shows an interest in participatory forms of organization, which allow for more responsiveness and competitiveness in the current economic context. Participatory organizations are defined as forms of work organization that promote the autonomy and personal involvement of its employees, whose work is managed through flexible organizational practices, which more easily attract younger generations and thus meet both an economic and a social need. Since the beginning of the century, companies have been changing their organization in this direction, and numerous studies in human and social sciences have been seeking to analyze their implications. Once implemented, the organizational modes targeted by the change processes are frequently studied in terms of consequences for the company's productivity or the psychological health of professionals. Some research focuses on the change processes themselves, specifically on the phenomena of resistance generated by the changes, and develops models for managing them. The culture of preventing psychological health applicable to organizations during periods of change has shortcomings. The risk prevention system must therefore adapt to these work activities, whether transformed or new. It must take into account not only the modifications of pre-existing psychosocial factors but also the emergence of new factors. Our study aims to develop a methodology to be used in a longitudinal framework to identify the evolutions of risk factors and psychosocial resources throughout an organizational change process in a company. Our study is based on a case study. A comprehensive approach was adopted, based on the collection of various data (documentary, studies, observations, and interviews), in order to better understand the experiences of professionals, their representation of their activity and the organizational change process, as well as the effect of psychosocial factors on their experience of the situation. A psychosocial analysis grid integrating organizational, social, emotional, ideological, and cognitive dimensions was used to cover the field of psychosocial risks and resources known from scientific literature

Testo completoSince several years, many measures have been put in place whose role is to encourage the development of family employments. The report that an increasing number of family needs are not satisfied as regards domestic activities, childcare, assistance to, elderly or handicaped people, indeed arouses the interest of the specialists in the field of employment. The object of this research is to, question the impact of this employment policy,on the activities sector. Has the increase in family jobs been accompanied by a similar qualitative increase particularly in terms of employment status for those working at home ? After throwing a historical light on the subject and presenting govemment measures put in place over the last few years, this analysis suggests the possible risk of deadlock for family employments that this policy proposes to, develop. It is a matter of setting out in fine the wherewithal to bridge the gap towards family employments which have both status and durability

Testo completo“Modern musics”, aesthetics with moving out lines excluded until today from the national musical training centers are for a short time put in the middle of a process of institutionalization with their becoming in the music schools and beyond that, in the “schoolish form” through their assimilation of customs, rites and codes although adapted to this new styles still pledge allegiance to a normative légitimation system, source of stipulated or prohibited behaviors. More and more young “heirs” with diversified cultural practices choose these degree courses for amateur or professional musicians, others on the other hand still stay cut off from the system. In this study, we will take an interest in those who develop their practices of “modern musics” out off formal schoolish educational surroundings and we suggest to analyze the cultural, social and educative stakes of the type(s) through their trajectories, interests and strategies out from the institutionalized and didactical form. We try to find through an ethno methodological approach which will allow us to understand as the interactions between the characters as the musical practices staid until today cut off the cultural legitimity, if these practices introduce “another socialization form”

Testo completoThis thesis aimed at assessing service providers’ initial stance toward the implementation of a multi-level/multimodality evidence-based program (EBP). It also aimed at examining the association between initial stance and subsequent program use during the first two years of active implementation. To do so, the thesis examined the implementation of the EBP Triple P – Positive Parenting Program (Sanders, Cann, & Markie-Dadds, 2003) in the province of Quebec, Canada. In the first part of the thesis, profiles of providers were identified based on their pre-implementation attitudes toward EBPs, self-efficacy in conducting behavioral family interventions with parents, perception of their perception of their training needs related to working with parents, perception of the adequacy of their organization’s offices and physical space available to support the implementation of Triple P, and perception of the facilitators and barriers to its implementation (characteristics of the agency, staff and team leader). A latent profile analysis was conducted, and a two-profile solution was chosen as the best representation of the data. The two profiles differed mainly by the level of optimism or skepticism toward the implementation of Triple P. The associations between the profiles and three retrospective self-reported measures of program use (whether or not the provider used Triple P at least once during the 2-year period following their initial training) and amount of program use (number of families reached during the 2-year period, and number of sessions conducted during the last six months) were examined. Program use and amount of program use did not differ between the two profiles, suggesting that agencies willing to implement a new program should not held back from involving more skeptical providers into the implementation efforts. In the second part of the thesis, the indicators of initial stance, as well as sociodemographic characteristics were used to predict program use and amount of program use. Amount of program use was assessed using three self-reported prospective indicators (number of parent reached, number of activities conducted, and total duration of Triple P interventions conducted during the two-year period following initial training). An exploratory factorial analysis confirmed the adequacy of integrating these three measures within a multidimensional usage index. Regression analyses showed the influence of individual and contextual factors on the usage of an EBP. The thesis highlighted that, when implementing a new EBP, what matters is not to target only optimistic providers to receive training, but rather provide all providers with adequate support in order to reduce organizational barriers to implementation. It also underlined the importance of studying many indicators of usage in implementation research.

Testo completoHome care and personal services are heavily supported by economic and social policies in France. What is the quality of these jobs? Are there different forms of job quality in this heterogeneous group of activities? How are “quality compromises” built? How are they legitimated? These are the essential questions addressed in this thesis. In order to answer these issues, we study the progressive construction of public and professional regulations which contribute to shape jobs and their characteristics. The structuring of professional relationships is more particularly analysed on the basis of a qualitative survey carried out among people in charge of bargaining collective agreements. The interpretive lens used in the analysis of empirically observed forms of job quality is derived from this first historical and social framing. A second, epistemological and theoretical framing, aims at pointing out the way through which the concept of “job quality” is approached in the thesis. Job quality is investigated in its multiple economic and social dimensions (remuneration, job security, working conditions...) through an approach based on the gaps to the mean of French job standards. The use and treatment of statistical data based on two national surveys emphasizes that these deviations from the norm tend to be cumulative on several dimensions in personal services. “Cumulative constraints at work” is thus important, but situations are heterogeneous. We then demonstrate the coexistence of a plurality of job quality configurations embedded in public and professional regulations

Testo completoThis research examines highly multimodal activities constituting a video project conducted in collaboration with home helpers, in the context of adult language training. The activities under study focus on explaining procedures carried out in various situations, weakly or heavily instrumented (spontaneous group oral, simulation, camera-facing shooting) and participate in the process of appropriation of the foreign language by placing the learner in an expert role. Participant observations in an ethnographic approach, supported by audiovisual recordings of these activities, brought together a corpus that we organized into two main collections. They are based primarily on these data. They deal with the dynamics of multi-sensory, situated actions and interactions (verbal actions, gestures, object manipulations, body placements, movements), as they were developed by the participants. They also discuss the Goffmanian notions of framework, position, commitment and reiteration. This ecological approach to human activity, relatively recent in language science, highlights the multimodality of the resources deployed in those educational situations, and shows their connection with the environment in its social and material dimensions

Testo completoLocated at the intersection of a sociology of kinship ties, of a sociology of aging and of a sociology of lower classes, this dissertation aims to uncover the various economics questions emerging when an elderly person with modest revenues and patrimony enters a nursing home. Based on a set of family cases (reconstituted through interviews) combined with statistical and institutional data, the dissertation focuses on the mobilization of the kin at this very specific moment. In particular, it zooms in on the debates about the former housing of the elderly, just as on their personal belongings. The analysis shows that, following the institutionalization, these goods are first of all "placed on hold" a, long as possible in order to conceal the new situation. Ln the middle run the remaking of the former place leads to the creation of a quasi inheritance" adapting some of the inheritance laws. When insufficient to fund the stay in the institution the income of the elderly person can be supplemented by resorting to her patrimony as well as through negotiated financial contributions from the members of the family. The control over the rights the documentation and the money of the nursing home resident arc consequently granted to family managing caregivers” whose mandate is to both preserve the autonomous funding of the resident's new life, and limit the contribution of the family. Ta capture these questions, the dissertation pays a special attention to the various and interlocking effects of kin status, gender, and interfamilial social inequalities to demonstrate the specificity of the transition to institution for elderly people from the lower classes

Testo completoWomen occupational health should be seen as a collective issue, determined by social relations of sex. The traditional medical view of women's bodies refers to an understanding of an ever-failing body, and this is an obstacle to the recognition of attacks on women's health related to work. The empirical field of elderly home care gives us the opportunity to observe the physical and psychological discomforts for health care workers. We can also take note of the diseases linked to this work hardness. All these facts confirm the hardness of health care worker job, visible even in the recognition data of health insurance. Read those results in terms of social relation of sex allows us to understand how the ignorance of this hardship brings a collective benefit. It also indicates how important it is to offer a vision of health away from the strictly biomedical point of view, masculine neutral built
