Abstract (sommario):
Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää valkuaislisän merkitystä maitorotuisten sonnien kokoviljasäilö-rehuruokinnalla. Koe-eläimet (36 kpl maitorotuisia sonneja) olivat ruokintakokeen alkaessa keskimäärin 217 vuorokauden ikäisiä. Sonnit jaettiin kokeen alussa elopainon ja rodun perusteella yhdeksään neljän eläimen blokkiin, joista ne edelleen arvottiin neljälle koeruokinnalle. Ryhmän 1 sonnit saivat vapaasti seosrehua, jossa oli kokoviljasäilörehua (60 % kuiva-aineesta) ja litistettyä ohraa (40 % kuiva-aineesta). Ryhmä ei saanut valkuaistäydennystä. Ryhmän 2 sonnit ruokittiin muutoin kuten ryhmä 1 mutta sonneilla oli valkuaistäydennyksenä rypsipohjainen Krono-Tiiviste 35. Tiivisteen annostelumäärä oli kokeen aikana keskimäärin 620 g/eläin/vrk. Tiiviste korvasi vastaavan määrän litistettyä ohraa sonnien päiväannoksessa. Ryhmän 3 sonnit ruokittiin muutoin kuten ryhmä 1 mutta sonneilla oli valkuaistäydennyksenä Krono-Tiiviste 45, jossa oli käytetty valkuaisena rypsin lisäksi rehu-ureaa. Tiivisteen annostelu toteutettiin siten, että raakavalkuaislisäys (g/pv) oli sama kuin ryhmän 2 eläimillä. Annostelumäärä oli tällöin 480 g/eläin/vrk keskimäärin kokeen aikana. Tiiviste korvasi vastaavan määrän litistettyä ohraa sonnien päiväannoksessa. Ryhmän 4 sonnit toimivat kontrollikäsittelynä, ja ne ruokittiin seosrehulla, jossa oli nurmisäilörehua (60 % kuiva-aineesta) ja litistettyä ohraa (40 % kuiva-aineesta). Ryhmä ei saanut valkuaistäydennystä. Kokeessa käytetty nurmisäilörehu oli ravitsemukselliselta koostumukseltaan hyvälaatuista. Se sisälsi muuntokelpoista energiaa 10,8 MJ/kg ka, raakavalkuaista 151 g/kg ka ja NDF-kuitua 581 g/kg ka. Kokoviljasäilörehun raakavalkuaispitoisuus oli 30 %, NDF-pitoisuus 17 % ja energia-arvo 10 % matalampi kuin nurmisäilörehulla. Sonnien kasvutulokset olivat nurmisäilörehuruokinnalla 6–8 % paremmat kuin kokoviljasäilö-rehuruokinnoilla. Kasvuerot olivat todennäköisesti suurimmaksi osaksi seurausta nurmisäilörehusonnien suuremmasta energian saannista, mikä selittyi kokoviljasäilörehun nurmisäilörehua heikommalla sulavuudella. Myös kokoviljasäilörehuruokinnoilla saavutettiin tässä tutkimuksessa hyvät kasvutulokset (nettokasvu keskimäärin 618 g/pv), mikä osoittaa kokoviljasäilörehun olevan varteenotettava vaihtoehto lihanautatilan rehuviljelyssä. Tutkimushypoteesin vastaisesti valkuaistäydennys ei parantanut sonnien kasvua kokoviljasäilörehuruokinnalla. Lisääntynyt raakavalkuaisen saanti ja dieetin korkeampi PVT-arvo valkuaistäydennystä saaneilla ruokinnoilla ei realisoitunut parempina kasvuvasteina, vaikka kokoviljasäilörehuruokinnan PVT-arvo oli ilman valkuaislisää nykyisiä suomalaisia lihanautojen ruokintasuosituksia alemmalla tasolla. Tulosten perusteella maitorotuisten sonnien valkuaisen saanti on riittävä, kun rehuannoksen PVT on yli -20 g/kg ka ja dieetin raakavalkuaispitoisuus yli 110 g/kg ka. Valkuaistäydennyksen laadulla (tavanomainen vs. ureapitoinen) ei ollut vaikutusta tuotantotuloksiin.

Abstract (sommario):
The aim of this work is to improve the heteroepitaxial growth process of 3C-SiC on Si substrates using Trichlorosilane (SiHCl3) as the silicon growth precursor. With this precursor it has been shown that it is possible to simultaneously increase the growth rate of the process and avoid the nucleation of silicon droplets in the gas phase. Growth experiments were conducted on three (3) Si substrate orientations in order to assess the impact of the Si substrate on the resulting 3C-SiC film. X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) analysis show the important role of the substrate orientation for the growth process. The different orientation of the substrate modifies the morphology of the 3C-SiC crystalline structure, mostly by changing the density of micro-twins and stacking faults inside the film.

In this study, a detailed structural characterization of epitaxial La0.6Sr0.4CoO3−δ (LSC) films grown in (100), (110), and (111) orientations was conducted. LSC is a model air electrode material in solid oxide fuel and electrolysis cells and understanding the correlation of bulk structure and catalytic activity is essential for the design of future electrode materials. Thin films were grown on single crystals of the perovskite material La0.95Sr0.05Ga0.95Mg0.05O3−δ cut in three different directions. This enabled an examination of structural details at the atomic scale for a realistic material combination in solid oxide cells. The investigation involved the application of atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy to explore the distinct properties of these thin films. Interestingly, ordering phenomena in both cationic as well as anionic sublattices were found, despite the fact that the thin films were never at higher temperatures than 600 °C. Cationic ordering was found in spherical precipitates, whereas the ordering of oxygen vacancies led to the partial transition to brownmillerite in all three orientations. Our results indicate a very high oxygen vacancy concentration in all three thin films. Lattice strains in-plane and out-of-plane was measured, and its implications for the structural modifications are discussed.

Referring to the sketches, the alternative rotation of shaft (101) allows for absolute sealing between the left side and the right side of seal (1020). A device for total sealing around a shaft in alternating rotation is characterized in that a seal (1020), the main part of the device, called a torsion disc, constitutes the material insulator and is fixed on a shaft (101) by means of two spacers (610) and (620), where the spacer (610) is held in position by the bearing (710) and the spacer (620), which clamps the seal (1020), is held in position by the bearing (720). Along the shaft (101) on both sides of the seal (1020), O-rings (510) and (520) and possibly temperature insulating rings (410) and (420) can be arranged. On both sides of the seal (1020) there are possibly two pressure isolating stops (210) and (220), which slide in rotation on two other stops (110) and (120). The two bearing housings (228) and (8) are positioned relative to each other by means of shims (7) in order to clamp the seal (1020) at the bore and at the shaft. Connecting screws connect the bearing housings (228) and (8) and further connecting screws connect the housing (8) and the wall (22). Absolute sealing of a kinematic Stirling engine is now achievable. A French patent was taken out on August 27th, 2020.

Abstract (sommario):
The article describes the nature of public services and the problem of improving theirquality and accessibility for citizens. There have been studied the issues of the public authorities’services which comply the quality, timeliness and are primarily focused on the satisfaction ofcitizens in these services.Currently, the use of a citizen-centered approach in provision of services to measure the level ofsatisfaction of population with public services is one of the relevant research areas. Therefore, thework analyzes the issues of citizens’ public services satisfaction.The article describes the governmental institution’s activities in terms of the implementationof services regulated by the institution and legislative documents. The main findings show thatthe assessment public services’ quality can be held from the standpoint of the activities of bothstate institution and civil servants’ work. The paper identifies the problems that hold back theimprovement of public services’ quality. It also describes the main trends for quality improvementand public services’ accessibility at a current stage.

Abstract (sommario):
In this paper, the structural stability, adhesion and chemical bonding of the TiO2 (110)/TiAl (111) interface are investigated by the first-principles calculations. We predict the maximum adhesion energy of 1.91J/m2 of the TiO2/TiAl interface. We also calculated the Nb doped interface, and found that the doped Nb atom prefers to replace the Ti atom at the second layer of TiAl slab. The atomic geometry and density of states are analyzed. The results show that the effect of doped Nb is localized and insignificant on the TiO2 (110)/TiAl(111) interface.

Abstract (sommario):
We discuss the influence of the growth conditions (composition of the gaseous phase, growth duration, growth temperature) and wafer properties (orientation, miscut, thickness) on the residual strain of 3C-SiC films grown on silicon substrates. We show that the strain related effects are observed for both studied orientations however some of them (namely the creep effects) were up to now stated only for (100) oriented layers. We also point out the main difference in strain control between the (111) and (100) orientations.

Abstract (sommario):
A method for high quality epitaxial growth of Ge on Si (111) and Si (110) is investigated by reduced pressure chemical vapor deposition. Two step Ge epitaxy (low temperature Ge seed and high temperature main Ge growth) with several cycles of annealing by interrupting the Ge growth (cyclic annealing) is performed. In the case of Ge seed layer growth below 350 °C for (111) and 400 °C for (110) orientation, huge surface roughening due to too high dislocation density is observed after the following annealing step. For both crystal orientations, a high crystallinity Ge seed layer is realized by combination of 450 °C growth with 800 °C annealing. Once the high-quality Ge seed layer is deposited, high crystal quality Ge can be grown at 600 °C on the seed layer for both crystal orientations. For the 5 µm thick Ge layer deposited with the cyclic annealing process at 800 °C, a Si diffusion length of ~400 nm from the interface, RMS roughness below 0.5 nm and threading dislocation density of 5×106 cm-2 are achieved for both (111) and (110) substrates.

Abstract (sommario):
The aim of the present study was the continuous measurement of ruminal pH in grazing dairy cows to monitor the diets effects on ruminal pH value. A novel indwelling pH-measurement and data transmitting system was given to 6 multiparous cows orally. Ruminal pH was measured every 600 sec over a 40 d period. After barn feeding and changeover to pasture, the following 3 treatments (2 cows/treatment) were included in the measurement period: continuous grazing (G), continuous grazing plus 4 kg/d of hay fed twice daily (GH), and continuous grazing plus 4 kg/d of concentrate (GC). Ruminal pH decreased significantly (P<0.05) from6.58±0.15to pH6.19±0.19during feed changeover to pasture. Mean ruminal pH for G, GH, and GC was 6.36, 6.56, and 6.01. Mean 24-h minimum pH was 5.95, 6.20 and, 5.58. The time pH was below 6.3, 6.0, 5.8, and 5.5, for G it was 583, 91, 26, and 3 min/d, for GH it was 97, 12, 0, and 0 min/d and for GC it was 1126, 621, 347, and 101 min/d, respectively. Results were significantly influenced by the diet. The indwelling pH-measurement and data transmitting system is a very useful and proper tool for long-term measurement of ruminal pH in cows.

Abstract (sommario):
The structural and morphological modifications induced by the carbonization stage upon 3C-SiC heteroepitaxial films grown on (111) and (100) oriented silicon substrates have been investigated. The crystalline quality of the films is strongly dependent on the carbonization parameters (propane flow rate and duration of carbonization). The (111) heteroepitaxial films coalesce more rapidly and present a lower dependence on the carbonization conditions than (100) films. By comparing the evolution of the interfacial defects (voids) density with existing models, we show that this is related to the initial mechanisms occurring during the carbonization stage. The twin defects densities on (111), (100) and (211) films are also investigated and the role of the only carbonization stage on their formation is studied.

Abstract (sommario):
TiO2 thin films have been deposited at different concentration ofCdO of (x= 0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2) Wt. % onto glass substratesby pulsed laser deposition technique (PLD) using Nd-YAG laserwith λ=1064nm, energy=800mJ and number of shots=500. Thethickness of the film was 200nm. The films were annealed todifferent annealing (423 and 523) k. The effect of annealingtemperatures and concentration of CdO on the structural andphotoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated. X-raydiffraction (XRD) results reveals that the deposited TiO2(1-x)CdOxthin films were polycrystalline with tetragonal structure and manypeaks were appeared at (110), (101), (111) and (211) planes withpreferred orientation along 2Ɵ around 27.30. The results ofphotoluminescence (PL) emission show that there are two peakspositioned are around 320 nm and 400 nm for predominated peakand 620 nm and 680 nm for the small peaks.

We evaluated the dose-response relationship between the plasma amino acid (AA) concentration and renal hemodynamics in eight normal subjects. After an overnight fast, a balanced 10% AA solution was infused for 180 min at five separate infusion rates: 0.5 (group I), 1.0 (group II), 2.0 (group III), 4.0 (group IV), and 6.0 (group V) ml.kg-1.min-1 on separate days. Basal plasma AA concentration was 1.87 +/- 0.1 mmol/l and increased to 2.26 +/- 0.1 (group I), 2.66 +/- 0.2 (group II), 3.79 +/- 0.5 (group III), 5.81 +/- 0.4 (group IV), and 7.41 +/- 0.4 mmol/l (group V). Basal glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal plasma flow (RPF) averaged 95 +/- 4 and 476 +/- 29 ml.1.73 m-2.min-1, respectively, and rose to 98 +/- 5 and 506 +/- 40 (group I) [P = not significant (NS)], 102 +/- 3 and 533 +/- 30 (group II) (P < 0.05 vs. basal), 110 +/- 4 and 567 +/- 29 (group III), 115 +/- 7 and 610 +/- 55 (group IV), and 117 +/- 7 and 614 +/- 66 ml.1.73 m-2.min-1 (group V) (P = NS vs. group IV). Basal plasma glucagon concentration averaged 68 +/- 10 pg/ml and increased to 74 +/- 10 (group I), 83 +/- 11 (group II) (P < 0.05 vs. basal), 100 +/- 14 (group III), 121 +/- 14 (group IV), and 229 +/- 35 pg/ml (group V) (P < 0.01 vs. basal). Abstract (sommario):
The Fenton reaction (Fe2++H2O2→Fe3++•OH+OH-) results in strong oxidative damage to macromolecules when iron (Fe) or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) are in excess. This study aims at comparing Fe2++H2O2-induced oxidative damage to membrane lipids (lipid peroxidation, LPO) and protective effects of 17β-estradiol (a potential antioxidant) in porcine ovary and thyroid homogenates. Iron, as one of the Fenton reaction substrates, was used in the highest achievable concentrations. Thyroid or ovary homogenates were incubated in the presence of: (1st) FeSO4+H2O2 with/without 17β-estradiol (1 mM; 100, 10.0, 1.0 µM; 100, 10.0, 1.0 nM; 100, 10.0, 1.0 pM); five experiments were performed with different FeSO4 concentrations (2400, 1200, 600, 300, 150 µM); (2nd) FeSO4 (2400, 1200, 600, 300, 150 µM)+H2O2 with/without 17β-estradiol; three experiments were performed with three highest 17β-estradiol concentrations; (3rd) FeSO4 (2400, 1200, 1100, 1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 300, 150, 75 µM)+H2O2 (5 mM). LPO level [MDA+4-HDA/mg protein] was measured spectrophotometrically. The basal LPO level is lower in ovary than in thyroid homogenates. However, experimentally-induced LPO was higher in the former tissue, which was confirmed for the three highest Fe2+ concentrations (2400, 1200, 1100 µM). Exogenous 17β-estradiol (1 mM, 100, and 10 µM) reduced experimentally-induced LPO independently of iron concentration and that protective effect did not differ between tissues. The ovary, compared to the thyroid, reveals higher sensitivity to prooxidative effects of iron, however, it showed similar responsivity to protective 17β-estradiol activity. The therapeutic effect of 17β-estradiol against iron overload consequences should be considered with relation to both tissues.

3603 Background: Currently, robotic surgery for rectal cancer using da Vinci System is common. However, there is almost no clinical trial reported. This randomized controlled trial aims to compare the safety and efficacy of robotic, laparoscopic and open abdominoperineal resection (APR) for low rectal cancer. Methods: From September 2013 to August 2016, patients aged from 18 to 75 years, with low rectal cancer within 5 cm from anal verge, clinical T1 to T3, no distant metastases, were randomly assigned to receive either robotic procedures (RAP), laparoscopic procedures (LAP) or open surgery (OS) for APR in 1:1:1 ratio. The primary endpoint was postoperative complication rate. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT01985698). Results: Totally 406 patients were randomly assigned. Actually, 135 finished RAP, 131 finished LAP, and 137 finished OS (including 4 convert from LAP to OS). RAP had significantly lower postoperative complication rate (11.1%) than both LAP (21.4%, P = 0.023) and OS (27.7%, P = 0.001). Also, RAP reduced intraoperative hemorrhage (median [interquartile range], 100 [90-110] ml) than LAP (130 [100-150] ml, P < 0.001) and OS (150 [120-260] ml, P < 0.001). And RAP promoted postoperative recovery, with shorter days to first flatus (1.0 [1.0-2.0] day) than LAP (2.0 [2.0-3.0] day, P < 0.001) and OS (3.0 [2.0-4.0] day, P < 0.001), shorter days to first automatic urination (2.0 [2.0-3.0] day) than LAP (3.0 [2.0-4.0] day, P < 0.001) and OS (3.0 [2.0-4.0] day, P < 0.001), and shorter days to discharge (5.0 [5.0-6.0] days) than LAP (6.0 [5.0-7.0] days, P < 0.001) and OS (6.0 [5.0-7.0] day, P = 0.005). There was no significant difference in open conversion rate, resection margin involvement (including circumferential resection margin), number of lymph node harvested and pathological tumor stage. Conclusions: Robotic APR was safer, and reproduce equivalent surgical quality of conventional laparoscopic and open surgery. Also, it provided less injury and faster functional recovery. Objetivou-se avaliar a variação média no tamanho dos oocistos de Eimeria, segundo as categorias das variáveis: faixa etária das bezerras (zero a 100 e 101 a 180 dias de idade) e intensidade de infecção bem como correlacionar as espécies do gênero Eimeria, utilizando técnicas de morfometria. De agosto/2010 a junho/2011, no Município de Piraí, RJ, foram coletadas 1512 amostras de fezes de 57 bezerras, sendo 955 enquanto estavam na faixa etária de 0 a 100 dias e 557 já com 101 a 180 dias. Com base nas características morfológicas e morfométricas dos oocistos esporulados, identificaram-se nove espécies nas seguintes porcentagens: E. ellipsoidalis (39,7%), E. alabamensis (18,4%), E. bovis (12,1%), E. zuernii (11,4%), E. subspherica (7,3%), E. cylindrica (6,0%), E. auburnensis (3,6%), E. wyomingensis (1,0%) e E. canadensis (0,6%). As bezerras de até 100 dias apresentaram maior intensidade de infecção e, nas duas faixas etárias houve menos amostras classificadas como de alta intensidade. Pode-se observar que não houve correlação (p>0,05) entre as técnicas de medidas aplicadas, mostrando que uma independe da outra. Com base na análise dos oocistos da espécie E. ellipsoidalis, pode-se observar que a idade dos animais influenciou na morfometria dos oocistos em ambos os recursos de medida. Entretanto, não houve diferença significativa (p>0,05) na morfometria dos oocistos de acordo com a intensidade de infecção.

Heteroepitaxial growth of Ge on Si has great interest for various optoelectronic applications such as Ge photodiodes(1). However 4.2% of lattice mismatch causes dislocation formation and island growth. High quality Ge(001) growth techniques are reported in ref.(2-4). Moreover, Ge(111) surface is also interesting because of higher carrier mobility(5). Furthermore, Ge(110) is preferred orientation of virtual substrates for epitaxial graphene growth(6). In the case of the Ge deposition on Si(111) and Si(110) substrates, it seems that the process conditions used for Ge growth on Si(001) are not suitable to realize high crystallinity and smooth surface (7). In this paper, we present a method of high quality and smooth Ge layer growth on Si(111) and Si(110), which is the same level as the Ge growth on Si(001). Epitaxial growth of Ge on Si(111) and Si(110) is carried out using a reduced pressure chemical vapor deposition system. After HF last clean, a wafer is baked at 1000°C and cooled down to 600°C in H2 and further to 300-550°C in N2 to form a hydrogen-free Si surface. Then a 100 nm thick Ge layer is deposited as a seed layer using GeH4 with N2 carrier gas. Afterward the wafer is heated up to 450-650°C in H2 and the main part of Ge is deposited using a H2-GeH4 gas mixture. For threading dislocation density (TDD) reduction, annealing at 800°C in H2 is performed for several times (cyclic annealing) by interrupting the Ge growth. Atomic-force microscopy (AFM) is used for surface roughness analysis. Scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are used for structural characterization of the Ge layer. Secco defect etching combined with angle view scanning electron microscopy (SEM) or optical microscope is used for TDD evaluation. Figure 1(a,b) summarize the root mean square (RMS) roughness of Ge(111) and Ge(110) seed layers grown at 300-550°C before and after postannealing at 600-800°C. If the growth temperature is lower than 350°C for Ge(111) and 400°C for Ge(110), a significant increase of the surface roughness is observed after postannealing at 700°C and 800°C, respectively. For both crystal orientations, the lowest RMS roughness is observed by depositing at 450°C for as deposited and postannealed samples. The maintained RMS roughness even after postannealing at 800oC may be indicating good crystal quality even at as deposited condition. To confirm the influence of the growth temperature on the crystallinity, cross section TEM images of the Ge(111) and the Ge(110) seed layers deposited at 300°C and 450°C are shown in Fig. 2(a-d). In the case of Ge growth at 300°C (Fig. 2(a,b)), a very high density of stacking faults (SF) and high surface roughness are observed for both crystal orientations. In contrast, by depositing at 450°C (Fig. 2(c,d)), lower SF density in the Ge layer is observed compared to that at 300°C. By postannealing, an improvement of crystallinity is observed for the Ge seed layers deposited at 450°C. However, in the case of 300°C, the crystallinity cannot be improved by the postannealing, because a too high density of dislocations and SF may cause irregular Ge atom migration. As the result, surface roughening occurs. Figure 3(a,b) show AFM surface roughness images after 5 μm-thick Ge(111) and Ge(110) deposited with cyclic annealing at 800°C, respectively. Clear terraces of ~0.3 and ~0.2 nm, whose heights are close to those of Ge(111) bilayer and Ge(110) monolayer, are observed, respectively. RMS roughness of the Ge(111) and the Ge(110) are 0.51 and 0.35 nm, respectively. These RMS roughnesses are comparable to a level reported for Ge (001) in ref.(1). Figure 4 shows TDD of Ge(111) and Ge(110) surfaces as a function of the Ge thickness deposited with cyclic annealing on Si(111) and Si(110) substrates. For both orientations, TDD of ~4×108 cm-2 is obtained for 500 nm-thick samples. With increasing the Ge thickness, the TDD is reduced and levels below TDD of ~5×106 cm-2 are achieved for both Ge (111) and Ge(110) for 5 μm-thick Ge. These methods enable high quality virtual substrate fabrication not only for (001) surfaces but also for (111) and (110) orientation without a chemical mechanical polishing process. Objective. To evaluate the adequacy of protein intakes now recommended as safe for infants and toddlers. Methods. Subjects were recovering malnourished infants, age 5.3 to 17.9 months, length age (LA) 2.5 to 6.4 months, weight age (WA) 1.5 to 5.2 months, weight/length (W/L) 78% to 100% of National Center for Health Statistics data; and toddlers age 11.4 to 31.6 months, LA 6.1 to 17.9 months, WA 3.9 to 12.0 months, W/L 79% to 99%. Infants were assigned at random to formulas with 5.5%, 6.7%, or 8.0% energy as 60:40 whey:casein protein. The 5.5% was based on FAO-WHO-UNU safe protein and average energy for ages 2.5 to 6.0 months. Toddlers received 4.7% (recommended for 6 to 18 months), 6.4%, or 8.0%. Identical concentrations (weight/kcal) of other nutrients were maintained; intakes were adjusted weekly to reach, in 90 days, the 50th percentile of weight for a LA 3 months greater than the initial one. Results. Infants consumed 125 ± 11 (SD), 116 ± 10, and 126 ± 14 kcal and 1.7 ± 0.1, 1.9 ± 0.2, and 2.5 ± 0.3 g protein Kg-1· d-1; gained 2.4 ± 0.7, 2.9 ± 0.7, and 2.6 ± 0.5 months in LA, and reached a W/L of 105 ± 5, 103 ± 6, and 105 ± 5% of reference. Sum of four fat-folds (Σ FF) grew 13.1 ± 6.9, 10.4 ± 4.8, and 11.7 ± 5.3 mm to 32.5 ± 5.2, 31.7 ± 4.7, and 30.5 ± 5.5 mm; arm muscle areas (AMA) 57%, 51%, 70% to 1004 ± 109, 1017 ± 110, and 1004 ± 116 mm2, still low; arm fat areas (AFA) 93%, 66%, and 93% to higher-than-normal 598 ± 105, 610 ± 101, and 541 ± 116 mm2. Regression of intake on weight gain estimated energy for maintenance + activity to be 81.0 ± 7.5 (SEM) kcal · kg-1· d-1, and cost of gain (storage + metabolic cost) as 7.6 ± 1.7 kcal/g, with no significant effect of % protein. Toddlers consumed 107 ± 9, 103 ± 12, and 105 ± 10 kcal and 1.3 ±0.1, 1.6 ± 0.2, and 2.1 ± 0.2 g protein kg-1 · d-1; gained 3.3 ± 0.7, 2.9 ± 0.6, and 3.3 ± 0.7 months in LA; to a W/L of 102 ± 1, 102 ± 3, and 101 ± 4%. Σ FF grew 9.2 ± 4.0, 7.4 ± 4.3, and 6.0 ± 3.8 to 28.9 ± 5.2, 30.5 ± 3.7, and 27.0 ± 2.7 mm; AMA 31%, 33%, and 34% to 1121 ± 115, 1124 ± 110, and 1117 ± 120 mm2; AFA 53%, 44%, and 45% to higher-than-normal 578 ± 106, 636 ± 99, and 569 ± 68 mm2. Cost of maintenance + activity was 70.8 ± 3.8 (SEM) kcal · kg-1 · d-1, that of weight gain 9.7 ± 1.35 kcal/g, with no effect of % protein. Conclusions. Within age groups, there were no significant protein-related differences in growth. In both infants and toddlers, high-energy intakes resulted in mild obesity, with lean body mass still deficient. Protein intakes two SD below the means in the lowest protein/energy cells, 1.5 g · kg-1 · d-1 for infants and 1.1 g · Kg-1 · d-1 for toddlers, should still be safe for nearly all children of comparable biological ages.

The aim of this work is to test specific primers FusA1F/R, 2Ch300F/R, and 7Ch310F/R to study SE2 gene responsible for expression of acid chitinase in stressful situations, and loci that ensure resistance of sugar beetroot breeding material to Fusarium rot. Material for the study was sugar beetroot plants of domestic and foreign selection. To confirm the connection of SE2 gene (localized on chromosome 3)which controlsstable level of acid chitinase with resistance of sugar beetroot to root rot, ten samples of sugar beetroot were typed using molecular genetic marker FusA1. Two 600 b.p. and 400 b.p. DNA fragments in all studied genotypes, except wild beetroot plants (Beta corolliflora Zoss.)were identified. As a result of the studies of SE2 gene, eight single nucleotide substitutions (3 T/C, 2 C/G, A/G, G/A, C/T) and three single nucleotide insertions (nucleotide A) were identified in plants of Shannon foreign hybrid compared to the resistant genotype. As for loci encoding protective proteins (regions of the second and seventh chromosomes) and involved in formation of resistance to Fusarium rot, SNPs were also found in domestic breeding materials and foreign hybrids. The Geneious Prime tool was used to analyze and align the sequenced sequences.

Cluster headache is a trigemino-autonomic cephalgia with a low prevalence. Several population-based studies on its prevalence and incidence have been performed, but with different methodology resulting in different figures. We analysed all available population-based epidemiological studies on cluster headache and compared the data in a meta-analysis. The pooled data showed a lifetime prevalence of 124 per 100 000 [confidence interval (CI) 101, 151] and a 1-year prevalence of 53 per 100 000 (CI 26, 95). The overall sex ratio was 4.3 (male to female), it was higher in chronic cluster headache (15.0) compared with episodic cluster headache (3.8). The ratio of episodic vs. chronic cluster headache was 6.0. Our analysis revealed a relatively stable lifetime prevalence, which suggests that about one in 1000 people suffers from cluster headache, the prevalence being independent of the region of the population study. The sex ratio (male to female) is higher than published in several patient-based epidemiological studies.

It has been found that the effects of covalency on the anisotropy of Peierls stresses plays a significant role on the mobilities of dislocations in intermetallic compounds, and therefore influences the ductility exhibited by these materials especially at room temperature. In way of example, brief notes are given for the cases of TiAl and Ti3AL For TiAl, the microstructure of samples deformed at room temperature consists mainly of dislocations of the type b=<011], with the attendant superlattice extrinsic stacking-faults, see Fig.l; also, in some grains twinning has occurred. The density of dislocations with Burgers vectors parallel to <110] is extremely low; their line directions tend to be fairly close to screw orientation. For compression at 600°C, the deformation microstructure tends to be dominated by dislocations with b=1/2<110], as shown in Fig.2(a), and most of the dislocations observed of this type were found to be lying in screw orientation. In agreement with previous work, at the higher temperatures dislocations with b=<101] were observed to be dissociated partly on the {100} planes, the two inclined sets of straight dislocations in Fig.2(b), corresponding to Kear-Wilsdorf locks. These various results, including the line directions of the dislocations, are interpreted on the basis of the effect of covalent bonding on the anisotropy of the Peierls stresses (following) and therefore dislocation mobilities in this compound. The lack of ductility exhibited at room temperature is attributed to a lack of mobility of dislocations with b=1/2<110] caused by covalency, and the formation of sessile configurations by dissociation of dislocations with b=<101]. The increase in ductility of TiAl at higher temperatures is attributed to the operation of the slip systems 1/2<110]{111}, where dislocations with b=1/2<110] become significantly more glissile because of thermal activation, and also to an increased amount of twinning (apparently above 600°C) since the twinning dislocations (with b=1/6<112]) also are expected to be more glissile. When samples of this compound are produced containing 0.4at.%Er, the action of the rare earth addition is to internally getter the interstitial impurities. In this case, the deformation microstructure is dominated by dislocations with Burgers vectors with b=1/2<110], a typical area being shown in Fig.3. This is consistent with a reduced anisotropy of charge density about the Ti atoms, and therefore reduced effects of covalency.

The variation of microstructure of Ti-IF steel of extra deep drawing grade, which having a 83%cold-rolled deformation under simulated batch annealing process at temperature ranging from 480°C to 750°C, was studied by using optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and metallographic micro-hardness tester. The evolution of texture during the recrystallization process was analyzed by Orientation Density Function (ODF). The results show that, the recrystallization temperature of experimental steel is 620-630°C, and the recrystallization process can be accomplished within 1h at660°C. Four major textures after cold rolling are observed as follows,{001}<110>, {111}<110>, {111}<112> and {112}<110>, respectively. At the early stage of recrystallization annealing, texture evolves from {111} toγ-{111}, which is quite beneficial to achieve high deep drawing performance,the texture {001}<110> and {112}<110> change marginally. as the annealing temperature rises up to 720°C, texture {001}<110> and {112}<110> change into fiber textureγ-{111}. After annealing,{111}<112> and {111}<110> textures become the two main types.

Stomatal conductance and CO2 assimilation were evaluated at three different levels of soil water availability as tools for estimating relative drought resistance in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) at vegetative stage (preanthesis). Four genotypes differing in drought resistance in the field (A Texas line TX 622; Oklahoma lines, BOK 11 and BOK 111; and IN-15, a line from the Sudan of Africa) were investigated. Plants were grown in a growth chamber at 27 °C, (day/night) day length of 14 h and photosynthetic photon flux density of 350 μmol m−2 S−1. Three weeks after germination, plants were divided into control, 50% and 25% soil water saturation groups. At the end of the second week of treatment, simultaneous measurements were made of stomatal conductance, CO2 assimilation, leaf water potential and transpiration, on the youngest most mature leaf. After gas exchange measurements were taken, leaf water potential was measured. In a separate experiment, survival rate under water stress conditions was also determined on plants grown under the same conditions as above. Four weeks after germination, the plants were subjected to two cycles of drought and the survival rate and growth of each genotype determined. Survival rate and growth throughout dought cycles I and II was, in the decreasing order of, IN-15, BOK 111, TX 622 and BOK 11. Water potential, stomatal conductance and CO2 assimilation of each genotype declined with decreased soil water availability; the smallest decrease was observed in IN-15 and the largest decreases in BOK 111, followed by TX 622 and BOK 11. Water use efficiency of each genotype was increased, in the same order as above, with decreased soil water availability. This correlates with the ranking obtained in the artificial drought test. In conclusion, stomatal conductance and CO2 assimilation appear to be useful tools for screening sorghum genotypes at vegetative stage (preanthesis) of growth for drought resistance. Aims Iliosacral sarcoma resections have been shown to have high rates of local recurrence (LR) and poor overall survival. There is also no universal classification for the resection of pelvic sarcomas invading the sacrum. This study proposes a novel classification system and analyzes the survival and risk of recurrence, when using this system. Methods This is a retrospective analysis of 151 patients (with median follow-up in survivors of 44 months (interquartile range 12 to 77)) who underwent hemipelvectomy with iliosacral resection at a single centre between 2007 and 2019. The proposed classification differentiates the extent of iliosacral resection and defines types S1 to S6 (S1 resection medial and parallel to the sacroiliac joint, S2 resection through the ipsilateral sacral lateral mass to the neuroforamina, S3 resection through the ipsilateral neuroforamina, S4 resection through ipsilateral the spinal canal, and S5 and S6 contralateral sacral resections). Descriptive statistics and the chi-squared test were used for categorical variables, and the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis were performed. Results Resections were S1 in 25/151 patients (17%), S2 in 70/151 (46%), S3 in 33/151 (22%), S4 in 77/151 (11%), S5 in 4/151 (3%), and S6 in 2/151 (1%). An internal hemipelvectomy was performed in 113/151 patients (75%), and 38/151 patients (25%) had an external hemipelvectomy. The predominant types of sarcoma were high-grade osteosarcoma in 48/151 patients (32%), chondrosarcoma in 41/151 (27%), Ewing sarcoma in 33/151 (22%), pleomorphic sarcoma in 17/151 (11%), and others in 2/151 (8%). LR was found in 24/151 patients (15%) with S3, S5, with S6 resections showing the highest rate of LR (p = 0.038). Overall, 19/151 patients (16%) had evidence of metastastic disease at the time of surgery and these patients showed poorer survival when compared to patients with no metastasis. Conclusion The proposed classification can help to report and compare different surgical and reconstructive approaches in these difficult cases who are still have a considerable risk of LR. Mature Paulared (Malus ×domestica Borkh L.)/MM106 apple trees with a heavy bloom were sprayed with carbaryl [Sevin® XLR 1.25 mL L–1 (600 mg L–1 a.i.)], benzyladenine (BA)/gibberellic acids (GA4 + 7) [Accel® 1.22 mL L–1 (23.1 mg L–1/2.31 mg L–1 a.i.)], carbaryl [Sevin® XLR 1.25 mL L–1 (600 mg L–1 a.i.)] + BA/GA4 + 7 [Accel® 1.22 mL L–1 (15.6 mg L–1/1.56 mg L–1 a.i.)] and napthaleneacetic acid (NAA) [FruitoneN® 0.32 g·L–1 (1.13 mg L–1 a.i.)] when fruitlet diameter was 7 mm. Ethephon [Ethrel® 2.29 mL L–1 (549.6 mg L–1 a.i.)] was applied at the 13.5 mm fruitlet diameter stage. Carbaryl alone, NAA and ethephon all resulted in improved fruit size at harvest, whereas BA/GA4 + 7 was ineffective as a thinner and did not alter fruit size at harvest. Of these treatments, only ethephon significantly reduced crop load. Both NAA and ethephon, and especially ethephon, advanced fruit maturity at harvest as indicated by a lower Streif index. Only ethephon increased commercial levels of fruit colour and following-year blossom density. Thus, while ethephon appears promising as a fruitlet thinner and a promoter of maturity for this cultivar, these effects will have to be balanced against possible adverse effects on storage and shelf life. A systematic study was conducted on the impact of annealing treatments on the microstructure and properties of cold-rolled Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloys using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, electron backscattered diffraction, and an electronic universal testing machine. It was found that, during low-temperature annealing (400 °C and 500 °C), the annealing time had no significant effect on the microstructure or properties of the Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloy. Only elongation (δ) increased with the increase in the annealing time, and the grain orientation of the Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloy was <111>//RD (rolling direction). When annealing at medium–high temperature (600 °C), as the annealing time increased, recrystallization and grain growth processes occurred, resulting in a continuous decrease in strength and an increase in δ. Meanwhile, it was found that the grain orientation of the cold-rolled Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloy changed from <111>//RD during the recovery and recrystallization processes to <101>//RD after the grain growth process. The orientation distribution function cross-section φ2 = 45° results indicate that the texture was mainly distributed along the γ orientation line (φ1 = 0~90°, Φ = 54.7°, φ2 = 45°). When annealed at 400 °C and 500 °C, the texture of the Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloys was (111)[uvw]. When the annealing treatment was 600 °C for 120 min, a (110)[uvw] texture occurred. Additionally, ductile fracture occurred in all specimens, and the crack origin was located on one side of the fracture surface, with obvious “Y”-shaped propagation. This article studied annealing treatments of cold-rolled Ti50Ni47Fe3 alloys, providing corresponding theoretical guidance for subsequent production applications.

Using herbs for medicinal purposes, ornamentals, and landscape plantings has increased significantly. Propagating from seeds is considered the most-efficient method of producing medicinal plants for commercial production. Among the herb seeds the purple coneflower (Echinacea angustifolia) was found difficult to germinate. Laboratory studies were conducted to: 1) determine optimum temperature from a temperature range 15 to 30 °C for seed germination; 2) determine effects of 5 10, 20, and 30 days of stratification at 5 and 10 °C in darkness on germination; and 3) determine effects of priming in the dark for 1, 3, 6, and 9 days with 0.1 M KNO3 and biostimulants at optimum temperature to enhance early emergence and final germination. Germination was enhanced from 45% in untreated seeds to 81% in seeds treated with either 50 ppm GA4/7 or 100 ppm ethephon at 24 °C. Final germination was 81% under daylight conditions when seeds were stratified in dark at 10 °C for 30 days over nonstratified seeds (13%). Priming seeds in 0.1 M KNO3 for 3 days significantly enhanced early germination to 70% with 100 and 150 ppm ethephon and final percent germination of 88% with either 100 ppm ethephon or 150 ppm GA4/7, while untreated control seeds resulted in 31% for same period of priming.

1,2-Dihydrosantonin is the first stable product in the degradative pathway of α-santonin by Pseudomonas cichorii S. Its formation is catalyzed by an oxidoreductase, which is NADH or NADPH dependent and has an apparent Km value of 66.66 μM for santonin and 44.33 μM for NADH. The enzyme activity is stable at pH 6.0, 7.0, and 8.0, and is not affected by EDTA and divalent metal ions. It is postulated that the enzymic reduction of santonin occurs via formation of a transient zwitterionic intermediate, which undergoes nonenzymatic 1,4-sigmatropic rearrangement to yield lumisantonin during the solvent extraction process. Lumisantonin is, thus, not a true metabolic intermediate but an artifact.

Abstract (sommario):
Nanostructural cupric oxide (CuO) films were prepared on Si and glass substrate by pulsed laser deposition technique (PLD) using laser Nd:YAG, using different laser pulses energies from 200 to 600 mJ. The X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) of the films showed a polycrystalline structure with a monoclinic symmetry and preferred orientation toward (111) plane with nano structure. The crystallite size was increasing with increasing of laser pulse energy. Optical properties was characterized by using UV–vis spectrometer in the wave lengthrange (200-1100) nm at room temperature. The results showed that the transmission spectrum decreases with the laser pulses energy increase. Sensitivity of NO2 gas at different operating temperatures, (50°C, 100°C, 150°C and 200°C) was calculated.

To improve the production process and produce high-quality annealed drawn and ironed (DI) plate, continuous annealing experiments were carried out at 620 °C, 640 °C, 680 °C, and 720 °C, and the effect of continuous annealing temperature on the microstructure, mechanical characteristics, and texture of annealed DI plate were clarified. The microstructure was tested with a scanning electron microscope (SEM); the mechanical properties and weighted average of the plastic strain ratio (r¯) were measured using a tension test; and the texture characterizations were tested by X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The results reveal that, with the increase of the annealing temperature, the average grain size grew from 5.14 μm to 6.56 μm, the yield strength and tensile strength decreased, and the elongation increased. The rolling textures drastically reduced after annealing. When annealed at a lower temperature of 620 °C, the texture content of {111} <110> was the highest. When the annealing temperature increased to 640 °C, 680 °C and 720 °C, the texture content of {111} <112> was higher than that of {111} <110>. The mechanical properties of the DI plate that was annealed at 640 °C are the best, with a higher r¯ value and a lower planar anisotropy value.

The aim of the work was to identify genetic sources and donors in the transferring of the main economically valuable traits and properties to the hybrid offspring of primocane raspberry. The objects of researches were 30 primocane raspberry varieties of domestic and foreign breeding, 35 selected forms, as well as their offspring from controlled crossings, inbreeding and populations from open pollination with a total amount of more than 3,500 pieces of seedlings. The evaluation of parental forms and hybrid offspring was carried out on the hybrid plot and on the competitive variety testing plot in the period from 2016 to 2019. As a result of researches, it was established that reliable donors of early and compressed crop ripening are varieties Evraziya, Medvezhonok, Pingvin, Podarok Kashinu, Poklon Kazakovu, Snezhet’, as well as the selected forms 1-156-21 (Bryanskaya Yubileinaya open pollination), 1-16-11 (1-182-10 × Evrasiya), 13-118-1 (46-41-20 o.p.), 44-154-2 (Pingvin × Bryanskoe Divo), 5-19-1 (32-151-20 o.p.), 7-42-5 (1-16-11 o.p.). The best combinations of crossings in obtaining hybrids with a high load of stem generative organs were the Zhar-Ptitsa × Bryanskoe Divo, Podarok Kashinu × Atlant, 1-156-21 × 1-16-11, 13-118-1 × Podarok Kashinu, 44-154-2 × Poklon Kazakovu, 1-156-21 x Snezhet’ and populations from open pollination of primocane forms 3-59-30, 3-117-1, 9-77-10, 9-155-1, 29-101-20. In the hybrid offspring of these parents, a small number (from 2.5 to 10 %) of transgressive seedlings are guaranteed to be released, forming from 120 to 200 pieces of fruit, fl owers and buds per shoot. The large-fruited seedlings (average weight 5.5-6.0 g) are cleaved out in the offspring varieties of Atlant, Poklon Kazakovu, Karamel’ka, Podarok Kashinu, Nizhegorodets, Samokhval and selected forms 13-118-1, 4-111-1, 11-165-1, 3-59-30. In the breeding to increase the strength of primocane raspberry fruits, you should actively involve varieties Atlant, Karamel’ka, Zolotaya Osen’, Medvezhonok, Podarok Kashinu, Samorodok, Samokhval, Driscoll Maravilla, Poranna Rosa and a number of selected forms-3-170-1 (Atlant × Snehet’), 3-131-1 (5-46-30 o.p.), 9-163-3 (13-118-1 × 1-16- 11), 6-154-1 (44-154-2 × Poklon Kazakovu), 1-54-1 (7-141 o.p.), 9-113-1 (Atlant × Koldun’ya).

Objective. To study life satisfaction and the impact of work on personal life among heads of clinical departments. Materials and methods. A correspondence survey of 216 heads of clinical departments was conducted using standardized questionnaires with the calculation of the life satisfaction index and the indices of interaction between work and personal life. The average age of the respondents was 47.9 8.08 years; the average length of service was 23.1 8.60 years. Results. The average life satisfaction index is 6.0 0.951. There is a weak inverse correlation of the index with age r = 0.2; p = 0.004 and length of service r = 0.2; p = 0.001. The values of the life satisfaction index do not depend on gender (t = 0.23, p = 0.818), place of work (t = 0.14; p = 0.886), availability of qualification category (t = 0.36; p = 0.722), academic degree (t = 1.8; p = 0.073), second higher education (t = 1.67; p = 0.097), work in "red zone" (t˂0,001; p = 1,000). The average index of negative interference of work in personal life is 1.59 0.474 and personal life in work is 1.04 0.123, positive influence of work on personal life is 2.64 0.897 and personal life on work is 3.35 0.882. There is a significant difference in the index of negative interference of personal life in work by respondents of different sexes (t = 3.24; p = 0.001) who worked in hospitals (t = 3.14; p = 0.002) and in the "red zone" (t = 3.29; p = 0.01). There is a negative weak correlation between the life satisfaction index and the index of the positive impact of personal life on work (r = 0.34; p˂0,001) and work on personal life (r = 0.37; p˂0,001). Conclusions. The life satisfaction index of department heads is high 6.0 out of 7. However, a decrease in the ratings of the positive interaction of work and personal life with an increase in the satisfaction index dictates the need to continue research.

Caffeine is a xanthine alkaloid compound found in Robusta sp and Theobroma cacao L. The caffeine extract was obtained by evaporating CHCl3 using a rotary evaporator and determine its content using iodometry, UV-Vis spectrophotometry and High Performance Liquid Chromatography, then validated by measurement methods. The iodometric caffeine content in Theobroma cacao L is 900 mg/kg while UV-Vis spectrophotometry is 4,000 mg/kg, and for HPLC in Robusta sp is 19,475 mg/kg. The iodometry performance gives the linearity value, R2 of 0.9791. The precision values at 5.0 mg/L and 15.0 mg/L are 4.6% and 8.3%. Accuracy for 5.0; 10.0; and 15.0 mg/L are 106%, 100% and 94% respectively. The performance of UV-Vis spectrophotometry gives linearity value, R2 of 0.9948. The precision value at 1.0 mg/L and 6.0 mg/L gives the variance coefficient value of 4.2% and 1.2%, while the accuracy at 1.0 mg/L and 6.0 mg/L are 99% and 101%.

We report the growth conditions necessary for highly oriented wurtzite GaN films on (111) GaAs, and single crystal GaN films on (111) GaAs using AlN buffer layers. The GaN films and AlN buffers are grown using rf reactive magnetron sputter deposition. Oriented basal plane wurtzite GaN is obtained on (111) GaAs at temperatures between 550 and 620 °C. However, using a high temperature 200 Å AlN buffer layer epitaxial GaN is produced. Crystal structure and quality are measured using x-ray diffraction (XRD), reflection electron diffraction (RED), and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). This is the first report of single crystal wurtzite GaN on (111) GaAs using AlN buffer layers by any growth technique. Simple AlN/GaN heterostructures grown by rf reactive sputter deposition on (111) GaAs are also demonstrated.

Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) thin films with Al2O3 buffer layer were deposited on Si (100) and Si (111) substrates using RF magnetron sputtering of Al2O3 target in Ar atmosphere. The synthesized films were then annealed at the temperature of 400[Formula: see text]C, 600[Formula: see text]C and 800[Formula: see text]C in nitrogen (N2) environment for 6[Formula: see text]h. Structural properties and surface morphology are examined by using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). XRD analysis indicated that different orientation of Al2O3 were formed with different intensities due to increase in the annealing temperature. From FESEM cross-section analysis results, it is observed that the thickness of films were increased as the annealing temperature increased. EDX analysis shows that the concentration of aluminum and oxygen on both the Si substrates increased with the increase in annealing temperature. The surface roughness of the films were found to be decreased first when the annealing temperature is increased to 400[Formula: see text]C, yet the roughness increased when the annealing temperature is further increased to 800[Formula: see text]C.

Carryover-adjusted mean changes from baseline “off” times were during ODM-101/65, −1.53 hours (p = 0.02 vs LCE), during ODM-101/105, −1.57 hours (p = 0.01 vs LCE), and during LCE −0.91 hours. Changes in daily “on” time without dyskinesia were 1.54 hours (p = 0.005 vs LCE), 1.38 hours (p = 0.0214 vs LCE), and 0.69 hours, respectively. Changes in “on” time with troublesome dyskinesia were <0.1 hours and not significantly different between treatments. In patients with high-activity COMT genotypes Val/Met or Val/Val, “off” time was reduced more with ODM-101/65 and ODM-101/105 than with LCE (p = 0.015 and p = 0.006). No difference between the treatments was seen in safety and tolerability. The most common treatment-related adverse effects were nausea, dizziness, drug-effect decrease, and dyskinesia, which were in most cases mild or moderate in severity. Treatment-related serious adverse events were diarrhea (ODM-101/105 and LCE), and myocardial ischemia and blood creatine kinase increase (LCE).ConclusionIncreasing the dose of carbidopa in combination with levodopa and entacapone should be considered in the treatment of fluctuating PD to improve daily “off” times. To determine the ability of environmental bacteria to metabolize the frequently prescribed fluoroquinolone drug ciprofloxacin, eight Mycobacterium spp. cultures were grown for 4 days in a medium containing sorbitol and yeast extract with 100 mg·L–1ciprofloxacin. After the cultures had been centrifuged and the supernatants extracted with ethyl acetate, two metabolites were purified by using high-performance liquid chromatography. They were identified with liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Ciprofloxacin was transformed to both N-acetylciprofloxacin (2.5%–5.5% of the total peak area at 280 nm) and N-nitrosociprofloxacin (6.0%–8.0% of the peak area) by Mycobacterium gilvum PYR-GCK and Mycobacterium sp. PYR100 but it was transformed only to N-acetylciprofloxacin by Mycobacterium frederiksbergense FAn9, M. gilvum ATCC 43909, M. gilvum BB1, Mycobacterium smegmatis mc2155, Mycobacterium sp. 7E1B1W, and Mycobacterium sp. RJGII-135. The results suggest that biotransformation may serve as a ciprofloxacin resistance mechanism for these bacteria.Key words: acetylation, ciprofloxacin, fluoroquinolones, Mycobacterium, nitrosation.

The king ratsnake (Elaphe carinata) of the genus Elaphe is a common large, non-venomous snake widely distributed in Southeast and East Asia. It is an economically important farmed species. As a non-venomous snake, the king ratsnake predates venomous snakes, such as cobras and pit vipers. However, the immune and digestive mechanisms of the king ratsnake remain unclear. Despite their economic and research importance, we lack genomic resources that would benefit toxicology, phylogeography, and immunogenetics studies. Here, we used single-tube long fragment read sequencing to generate the first contiguous genome of a king ratsnake from Huangshan City, Anhui province, China. The genome size is 1.56 GB with a scaffold N50 of 6.53M. The total length of the genome is approximately 621 Mb, while the repeat content is 42.26%. Additionally, we predicted 22,339 protein-coding genes, including 22,065 with functional annotations. Our genome is a potentially useful addition to those available for snakes.

Bitumen is demanded at manufacturers of roofing materials. Its production technology features have been reviewed.

BaSi2 thin films were formed on Si (111) substrate by solid-phase epitaxy (SPE) (UHV deposition) using the template technology followed by vacuum annealing at temperatures of 600 °C and 750 °C. After the deposition and annealing barium silicide films were characterized by Auger electron spectroscopy, grazing incidence x-ray diffraction (GIXRD) and atomic-force microscopy (AFM). It was established that the films annealed at T = 600 °C are polycrystalline with the structure of the orthorhombic BaSi2, with grain sizes of 100-200 nm. Higher anneal temperature (T=750 °C) leads to increase of diffraction peak intensity of BaSi2 phase with grain coagulation into 300-400 nm islands. It was confirmed that nanocrystalline BaSi2 films are characterized by a direct fundamental interband transition at 1.3 eV, the second interband transition with an energy of 2.0 eV, own phonon structure with wave number peaks at 112, 119, 146 and 208 cm-1 and a high density of defect states within the band gap, which provide a noticeable subband absorption at energies of 0.8 – 1.1 eV.

Field experiment conducted between rabi 2002-03 and 2003-04 at CTRI Research Station, Jeelugumilli, with different sources and levels of organic manures in comparison to chemical fertilizers and integrated application of sunnhemp, [ Crotalar ia juncea (L.) Rotar and Joy] in-situ green manuring + 110-26.2-99.9 kg of N, P and K/ha (INM) revealed that the highest mean yields of green leaf and cured leaf of FCV tobacco ( Nicotiana tabacum L.) were recorded with INM (20.84 and 2.51 t/ha) followed by groundnut ( Arachis hypogaea L.) cake (GNC) 6.0 t/ha (19.93 and 2.38 t/ha), filter press cake (FPC) 100 t/ha (19.63 and 2.29 t/ha) and farmyard manure FPC 100 t/ha (19.01 and 2.25 t/ha), respectively. The increase in mean cured leaf yield of INM, groundnut cake 6.0 t/ha, FPC 100 t/ha, farmyard manure 100 t/ha, farmyard manure 50 t + FPC 50 t/ha and fertilizers alone was 122, 111, 103, 98, 99 and 81% and that of grade index was 153, 174, 162, 157, 151 and 97%, respectively compared with con- trol, no fertilizer. Mean grade index/ cured leaf percentage, reducing sugar content and sugar: nicotine ratio were higher with application of organic manures as compared to chemical fertilizers alone and INM. The increase in sta- tus of available soil N with INM, groundnut cake 6.0 t/ha, filter press cake 100 t/ha, farmyard manure 100 t/ha, farmyard manure 50 t + FPC 50 t/ha and fertilizers alone was 9.8, 13.1, 15.8, 15.0, 13.7 and 6.8% and that of available P was 27.6, 19.9, 28.0, 27.6, 23.4 and 15.3%, respectively compared with control no fertilizer. The high- est net returns of Rs 52,480/ha and B: C ratio of 1.67 accrued with INM. The unit cost of tobacco production with organics is higher than that raised with chemical fertilizers, as the cost of organic inputs is prohibitively higher than chemicals. With the current marketing scenario, organic tobacco production is not cost-effective as there is no price differential for conventional and organic tobaccos. Until such time a premium market system develops for or- ganically grown FCV tobacco, current system of tobacco grown with INM seems to be inevitable and can offer divi- dends and looks to be remunerative and viable on a long run.

Проанализированы три препарата Омега-3 разного происхождения с разным жирнокислотным составом. Установлено, что все препараты приводили к одновекторным положительным изменениям, которые сопровождались ростом ВСР с усилением активности автономного контура и повышением работоспособности. Доказано, что для формирования функционального резерва спринтерам достаточно 300 мг Омега-3 животного или 600 мг растительного происхождения в сутки в течение месяца.
