Dr Stefan Szuman as a doctor in the German army (1914–1919). Biographical contribution The author reconstructs the biography of the Polish doctor, Dr Stefan Szuman (1889–1972), later a professor at Jagiellonian University (1928–1961) during his period in the German army (1914–1919). S. Szuman, who acquired the state right to perform the profession of doctor in the German Reich on 7 September 1914, as well as the level of medical doctor on 23 December 1914 at the Faculty of Medicine in the Ludwik Maximilian University of Munich, formally served in the German army in the years 1914–1919. He served as a military doctor on the eastern front in the fight against Russia (from January 1915 until April 1916), firstly in Mazovia and Kujawy, then in Volhynia. Later he served on the western front – from April 1916 until December 1917, on the border between France and Belgium. During the night of 30 November and 1 December 1917 he was heavily wounded in the leg during the Battle of Cambrai in the Nord-Pas-de- Calais region near Raillencourt-Sainte-Olle, next to Cambrai and Bouchain. For his service in the German army, he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class medal (at the turn of 1917/1918). After his recovery in Aachen and Torun, he was transferred to serve in the military hospital in the citadel in Hannover (from May until December 1918). After 9 December 1918, he returned to Torun, where he stayed until 17 May 1919, working as a garrison doctor in the clinic of his father – Dr Leon Szuman, still formally an officer in the German army until 19 March 1919 as a citizen of Germany. On 20 May 1919, he was accepted into the Polish Army at the rank of captain in Torun, which was still inside the German partition. On 31 May 1919, S. Szuman illegally crossed the Polish-German border near Torun and succeeded in reaching Wielkopolska.

Ele alınan konuların coğrafi kapsamı ve stratejik özellikleri göz önüne alındığında, kitapta tek bir harita, savaş planı veya cephe krokisinin bulunmayışı hayret-i muciptir. Ciddi bir eksiklik teşkil ettiği düşünülen bu konuda ATASE Haritalar-Albümler koleksiyonundan yararlanılabilecek olunması aşikardır.

Ks. Henryk Grębski urodził się 2 sierpnia 1882 r. w Majdanie. Był absolwentem Gimnazjum w Rzeszowie. Przygotowanie do kapłaństwa odbył w Seminarium Duchownym w Przemyślu. Sakrament święceń przyjął 21 czerwca 1908 r. Pracował jako wikariusz w Cieklinie (1908-1910), Szebniach (1910-1913) i Jeżowem (1913-1914). Był kapelanem armii austriackiej (1914-1918) i Wojska Polskiego (1918-1919), a później wikariuszem w Grębowie (1920-1921). W roku 1921 został zamianowany proboszczem parafii w Kamieniu. Prócz zwykłej pracy duszpasterskiej zajął się doposażeniem kościoła. Angażował w działalność społeczną. Zmarł 2 listopada 1948 r.

<p>Ο Ελληνοτουρκικός πόλεμος του 1919-1922 στη Μικρά Ασία υπήρξε προέκταση τόσο του Α' Παγκόσμιου Πολέμου όσο και των Βαλκανικών Πολέμων (1912-1913). Η ήττα του ελληνικού στρατού οδήγησε στην άφιξη δύο εκατομμυρίων προσφύγων στην Ελλάδα, συνιστώντας έτσι ένα μείζον επεισόδιο της ελληνικής Ιστορίας. Το παρόν άρθρο περιγράφει την καθημερινή ζωή και τις αναπαραστάσεις του Έλληνα στρατιώτη στο μέτωπο μέσα από άμεσες πηγές, όπως είναι οι επιστολές πού έστελναν οι στρατευμένοι στις «αδελφές τού στρατιώτου», οι εφημερίδες κ.ά. Στα κείμενα αυτά διακρίνονται οι διαφορετικές πτυχές της ζωής στο μέτωπο και ιδιαίτερα η κοινωνικότητα στη μάχη. Η μελέτη διερευνά τη δυνατότητα σύγκρισης της κατάστασης του Έλληνα στρατιώτη με εκείνη του Γάλλου στον Α' Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Η Μικρασιατική εκστρατεία (1919-1922), απόρροια τού συγκεκριμένου ιστορικού πλαισίου των δύο χωρών, βιώθηκε και «επιτελέστηκε» από τον Έλληνα στρατιώτη σύμφωνα με πρακτικές πού σχετίζονται με τις δυναμικές των συρράξεων του 1914-1918 και τού 1912-1913.</p>

1916 ile 1919 yılları arasında, o zamanki Krakov Müstahkem Mevkii hastanelerinde en az 50 Osmanlı askeri bulunmuştu. Bu askerlerin 47'si, 15. Kolordu subay, astsubay ve erlerinden oluşmaktaydı. İşbu birlik, 1916 ile 1917 tarihleri arasında Alman Güney Ordusu bünyesinde Doğu Galiçya Cephesinde savaşmıştı. Kalan üç asker ise, 1914 ile 1918 tarihleri arasında Kafkas Cephesinde savaşan birliklerde görev yapmış ve muhtemelen Rus esaretinden vatanlarına Polonya üzerinden dönerken 1919 yılında Krakov'a gelmişlerdi. Söz konusu askerlere ait ayrıntılı kimlik ve adres bilgileri, birbirinden bağımsız olarak oluşturulmuş iki arşiv kaynağında bulunmaktadır: Bunların birincisi, Krakov Türkolojisinin kurucusu Prof. Tadeusz Kowalski'nin Ekim 1917'de yazdığı not defteridir. "Materiały dialektologiczne tureckie, przewa˙znie niewydane" [Çoğunluğu Yayımlanmamış Türk Diyalektoloji Materyali] başlıklı bu defter, Krakov'daki Polonya Bilim Akademisi ve Polonya Yetenek Akademisi Bilim Arşivi'nde bulunmaktadır. İkincisi ise, Krakov Belediyesi Mezarlıkları Müdürlüğü Arşivi'nde muhafaza edilen "postmortem inceleme sertifikaları"dır. Bu iki kaynak üzerinde yapılan arşiv araştırması neticesinde, işbu makalede yer alan iki asker listesi oluşturuldu. Ayrıca, makalede askerlerin kimlik ve adres bilgilerinin yanısıra Galiçya Cephesiyle ilgili ve daha önce hiç yayımlanmamış şarkılar ile Krakov'da medfun Osmanlı şehitlerinin mezarlarıyla ilgili bilgiler sunulmaktadır.

Abstract (sommario):

The essay is devoted to characterizing a trend opposed to the onslaught of contradictions, disharmony and various destructive influences brought along by the new century in the Russian musical art of the early 20th century. This trend was embodied in the composers’ turn to the humanistic traditions of the past, as well as in the constructive and positive aspirations of modernity. The desire to defend the principles of humanism was mainly associated with the spiritual values of the Classical era. In particular, the author provides insight into the formation of neoclassicism in Russian musical art starting with the late works by P. Tchaikovsky (the orchestral suite “Mozartiana” (1887)). Special attention is paid to the works by S. Taneyev (the cantata “At the Reading of a Psalm” (1912-1915)), N. Myaskovsky (String Quartet No. 4 (1909-1910)), S. Prokofiev (Symphony No. 1 (1917)), Z. Paliashvili (the operas “Abesalom da Eteri” (1910-1919) and “Daisi” (1919-1923)). As a result, it is concluded that the sphere of humanism and harmony, despite being hardly a central trend in the context of the musical and artistic process of the 1910s, was, however, undoubtedly significant, clearly reflecting the reaction to the deforming trends of modernity. The fundamental shift in worldview that occurred in the 1910s – the first half of the 1920s was expressed in the weakening of the considered trend, the growth of contradictions.

Ovaj rad bavi se istraživanjem prirodnoga kretanja stanovništva i utjecaja modernizacijskih procesa na socijalnodemografske odrednice stanovništva župe Svetvinčenat od 1909. do 1918. godine. Glavni dio rada, podijeljen na tri glavna sadržajna dijela, predstavljaju podaci dobiveni analizom podataka matičnih knjiga krštenih, vjenčanih i umrlih. U razmatranom desetljeću analiziraju se usporedni podaci mirnodopskoga razdoblja (1909. – 1913.) i razdoblja Prvoga svjetskog rata (1914. – 1918.), tijekom kojega su, uz novačenje i rekviziciju uroda i stoke, župljani Svetvinčenta u svibnju 1915. obuhvaćeni i naredbom o evakuaciji stanovništva. Uz to, Istru je, a time i župu Svetvinčenat, 1917. pogodila jedna od najtežih suša 20. stoljeća. U radu se – uz analiziranje utjecaja i dinamike promjena u prirodnom kretanju stanovništva pod utjecajem nepovoljnih, izvanrednih okolnosti – analiziraju i osobitosti na razini mikrolokacija (naselja) župe. Istraživanje se temelji na matičnim knjigama krštenih, vjenčanih i umrlih, knjizi Status animarum iz 1910. župe Svetvinčenat te periodičnoj publikaciji austro-ugarskoga Ministarstva rata Popis gubitaka (Verlustliste).

Abstract (sommario):

Cette thèse étudie la participation du patronat à la formation des ouvriers en France en traitant de l'école Renault de Boulogne (1919-1989). Elle examine l'inscription d'un enseignement professionnel dans la production en posant la question de son autonomie et de la promotion sociale des jeunes formés. La vision d'un enseignement professionnel dépendant essentiellement de l'Etat est refutée par cette recherche insistant au contraire sur l'implication de divers acteurs. Ainsi, la situation de la ville de Boulogne illustre les enjeux de la formation : aide a la mobilité sociale d'enfants des classes populaires du côté de la municipalité de gauche ; constitution d'agents acquis à la rationalisation du côté de la direction de l'enseignement technique et des industriels. Paradoxalement pour une telle école, son évolution s'est pourtant faite selon une séparation du travail. La participation du patronat à la formation s'est d'abord déroulée sur des bases issues du travail (1920-1950). Puis au terme de l'appropriation par les acteurs de l'entreprise d'une hiérarchie des savoirs reléguant les savoirs de métier derrière les savoirs scientifiques et techniques, la formation est devenue peu différente de celle des écoles d'Etat (1950-1980). Cette évolution a conduit à la fermeture d'une école qui a contribué a la composition de l'encadrement de Renault : comme dans le modèle allemand, les jeunes débutaient dans des emplois d'atelier avant d'accéder à des emplois à responsabilités. Leurs carrières montrent que l'expérience a longtemps prévalu sur la possession d'un titre dans l'industrie.

Abstract (sommario):

Tutkielma käsittelee oululaisen Onnelan lastenkodin historiaa sen toiminnan kahden ensimmäisen vuosikymmenen ajalta. Onnelan nimellä tunnettu, yhä toiminnassa oleva, lastenkoti perustettiin Kastellin alueelle vuonna 1922. Sen perustaja oli Oulun Orpokotiyhdistys, joka aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1919 ylläpitämällä Laanilassa pientä orpokotia, jota voi pitää Onnelan edeltäjänä. Tutkielman kattama ajanjakso sijoittuu vuosiin 1919–1939. Tutkielman lähdemateriaali on koottu arkistokokonaisuuksista, joihin kuuluvat Onnelan lastenkodin, Koteja Kodittomille Lapsille ry:n vastaanottokodin kannattajayhtymän, Oulun Orpokotiyhdistyksen ja Pelastakaa Lapset Oulun osasto ry:n arkistot. Lähdemateriaalin hajanaisuus johtuu lastenkotien ylläpidon mutkikkaasta historiasta. Onnelan taustalla on vaikuttanut useita yhdistyksiä, jotka ovat jättäneet jälkeensä tietoja lastenkodin menneisyydestä. Tärkeimpiä lähteitä ovat yhdistysten ja lastenkodin toimintakertomukset sekä Onnelan nimikirjat. Onnela perustettiin huolehtimaan kansalaissodan vuoksi orvoksi jääneistä ja muista huollon tarpeessa olevista lapsista. Oulun Orpokotiyhdistys ylläpiti Onnelaa vuoteen 1929 saakka, jolloin lastenkoti tuli Koteja Kodittomille Lapsille ry:n hoidettavaksi. Koteja Kodittomille Lapsille ry:n Oulun läänin vastaanottokodin kannattajayhtymä oli ylläpitänyt vuosina 1926–1929 Oulussa lasten vastaanottokotia, joka toimi lasten väliaikaisena asuinpaikkana ennen uusiin kasvatuskoteihin sijoittamista tai kotiinpaluuta. Vuonna 1929 Onnela jatkoi tätä vastaanottokotitoimintaa. Onnela toimi pääasiassa valtion ja kuntien avustusten ja huoltomaksujen turvin, mutta yksityisillä lahjoituksillakin oli merkitystä. Taloudellinen tilanne oli jatkuvasti tiukka, etenkin 1930-luvun alun pula-ajan seurauksena, mutta lastenkoti pystyi sopeutumaan ja jatkamaan toimintaansa. Niukkuus näkyi lastenkodin tiloissa ja henkilökunnan määrässä: suurimmaksi osaksi lastenkodissa oli vain kaksi työntekijää. Etenkin pitkäaikaisen johtajattaren Signe Airon työpanosta pidettiin suuressa arvossa. Ensimmäisten toimintavuosikymmenten aikana Onnelassa asui 12–23 lasta. Huollettavien lasten määrä vaihteli, etenkin 1930-luvulla, kun Onnela toimi vastaanottokotina. Kaikkia avun tarpeessa olleita lapsia ei pystytty resurssien puutteen vuoksi ottamaan vastaan. Eniten kyselyjä hoitopaikoista tuli taloudellisesti vaikeimpina vuosina. Huollon tarpeen taustalla oli varsinaisen orpouden lisäksi monenlaisia perhesyitä kuten köyhyyttä ja huoltajien sairauksia. Suuri osa lapsista pääsi aikanaan palaamaan omaan kotiinsa. Monille hankittiin myös uudet kasvatuskodit, jotka ajan tavan mukaisesti sijaitsivat maaseudulla. Onnelassa asuessaan lapset kävivät koulua, harjoittelijat kotitöitä ja leikkivät. Heitä pyrittiin kasvattamaan kristillisesti. Tarkastuskertomuksissa Onnelan elämää kuvaillaan myönteisesti: niukkuudesta huolimatta lapset olivat terveitä ja hyväkäytöksisiä. Onnelan arki pyrittiin järjestämään siten, että lapset pystyisivät elämään mahdollisimman normaalia elämää.

The problem of the Dobrujan land frontier between the Bulgarian and Romanian national states, which officially came up after the San Stefano and Berlin (1878) peace treaties and was aggravated by the Peace of Bucharest (1913), dominated the bilateral relations for a few decades. The hereby study focuses on the period August 1914 – September 1915, when both South-Eastern European states were neutral towards the Great War. This context led to various proposals, projects and scenarios concerning the Romanian-Bulgarian relations and implicitly related to the fate of Dobruja. Our effort deals with three levels: the positions of the Great Powers, their relations with Bucharest and Sofia, and the direct relations between the two South-Eastern European states. Chronologically, this period is divided into several stages, marked by the Ottoman Empire’s entry in the war (1 November 1914), the deadlock of the negotiations between Bulgaria and the Entente (March 1915), Italy’s option to renounce neutrality (23 May 1915) and the onset of the final talks concerning Bulgaria’s option to join the Central Powers (July 1915). Among the most relevant sources, we need to mention the Romanian Military Archives from Piteşti and the works of synthesis written by the Bulgarian historians Georgi Markov, Ivan Ilčev and Žeko Popov, dealing with the period 1913-1919.

A ideia de analisar estas obras, no contexto do salão de 1917, surgiu ao formatarmos uma tabela, construída com dados das participações da artista entre os anos de 1913 a 1918, objetivando visualizar a trajetória da pintora. Houve uma crescente de premiação nos três primeiros anos (1913-1915), seguido da lacuna de premiações entre os anos 1916 e 1917. Em 1916 a artista levou para o salão sete obras e não recebeu prêmio, já em 1917 leva apenas duas. Daí surge nossa questão principal: o que motivou Maria Pardos levar dois nus para o salão de 1917?

A page of history is now at 100 hundred years rewritten and the digital media and authors use it for promotion. The study has two parts, historical facts and a short analyse on the tools used to promote it. Historical context starts, on June 5, 1918, the Treaty of Peace imposed on Romania by the Central Powers was ratified by Parliament and forwarded to the King for promulgation; he postponed the signing of this treaty. As the French army began to cross the Danube, on November 10, at Giurgiu, Zimnicea, Turnu Magurele and other points, the Romanian army re-joined the war, Romania proving "de facto" that it is in the allied camp. In this setting, on 11 November 1918, the Compiegne Armistice, between Germany and the Allied Powers, was signed, acknowledging, among other things, the caducity of the Bucharest Peace Treaty. At the same time, the end of the war brought with it the completion of the process of unification of all the Romanian provinces under one standard. And as the complete unity of Romania could not have been made without the inhabitants of Transylvania, the "cradle of the formation of the Romanian nation" for which the Romanian army had crossed the Carpathians, on 18 November / 1 December 1918, the Great National Assembly in Alba Iulia voted "the unification of all the territories inhabited by the Romanians from the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy with Romania". The digital development of this page of history was approached by both historians and media. The study show that the papers has a 27% of the covering of the event, the rest being covert by various encyclopaedia, blogs and essays. By channel by far Facebook covers the news on that event followed by Youtube and What’s Up.

The paper analyzes the attitudes demonstrated by the Siberian entrepreneurs and their groups to the significant political phenomena in the social and political life of the region during the period of the 1917 social cataclysm and the Civil War of 1918–1922. The idea of regional autonomy was supported by the bourgeois and Kadets circles in 1917 – the first half of 1918. The position of “tsenzoviki” radically changed after the overthrow of Soviet power and manifested itself in the demand for the establishment of non-partisan dictatorship. The commercial and entrepreneurial circles supported the dictatorship of A. V. Kolchak.

The president Constantin Leancă of Zemstvei, Bălți county, is originally from Movileni village, Cuhnești commune, Bălți county (today Glodeni district) was born on 10 April 1893. In the 1915 is mobilized in the army, Russian imperian and participated in the First World War. In 1917 he is elected president of the Balți, Zemstva. On 3 March, 1918 Zemstva deputies voted for union with România. Over the years 1919-1940 he was elected deputy in the Romanian parliament 7 times. On 28 June, 1940, soviet armies occupy Bessarabia, and Constantin Leancă in arrested and sentenced to 8 years in prison. The Romanian patriot from Bălți County died in 1942, in a Soviet concentration camp, from the Gorki region, Russia. By decision of the R.S.S.M. since January 9, 1990 it has been rehabilitated. A plaque commemorating C. Leanca was erected at his birthplace.
