We thank Dr Zecca and associates for their interest in our paper.1 Their concerns regarding possible cardiac side effects during steroid therapy in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants are quite appropriate and, we feel, further emphasize the benefits of an "early" (mean postnatal age, 9 to 10 days) and "short" (7 days) course of dexamethasone therapy for this group of infants at risk for long-term pulmonary morbidities. The prior studies they have referenced2-5 and another recent study6 applied longer courses of steroid therapy (up to 42 days) to infants with well-established chronic lung disease (CLD).

The lively, decades-long scholarly debate about the length that Jacopo Sansovino originally planned for his Libreria di San Marco in Venice (begun 1537) is the subject of A Window in the Venetian Mint and the Libreria di San Marco. Did Sansovino intend the building to have seventeen bays, or the present twenty-one? The question is important, because the Libreria plays a crucial role in the city's famous central urban space, Piazza San Marco. Eugene J. Johnson brings new evidence to the discussion, having discovered inside the Libreria a walled-up window that once opened into the east wall of the Sansovino's contemporaneous Venetian Mint, or Zecca. The window offers an opportunity to reconsider the arguments, and Johnson concludes that Sansovino had envisioned the longer, twenty-one bay building from the outset.

Analysis to clarify the biological role of the bacterial symbionts from hard tick Ixodes ricinus Midichloria mitochondrii is a bacterial endosymbiont of hard ticks. In Ixodes ricinus, this bacterium has been observed both in the cytoplasm and in the mitochondria of the infected cells. Electron microscopy shows that these bacteria multiply inside the tick mitochondria. We have performed a PCR screening for Midichloria-related bacteria in DNA extracts from Ixodidae ticks. A total of seven species from five genera were found positive for bacteria closely related to M. mitochondrii. Phylogenetic analyses performed on the 16S rDNA sequences obtained from the different tick species revealed that the bacteria form a monophyletic group within the order Rickettsiales. In order to monitor the growth of these bacteria we developed a real time PCR method for their quantification. Our results show that Midichloria bacterial load is very high during all of the stages of tick development. A reduction of the bacterial load was observed after the hatching of the eggs and after each molt. This bacterial diminution was followed by cycles of bacterial increase after each blood meal. This increase in the bacterial load suggest that Midichloria requires for its multiplication some factor present in the blood. We are currently using the whole genome shotgun technique with the goal of obtaining the complete genome sequence of M. mitochondrii. The partial results obtained include 280 thousand pyrosequencing reads and 500 Sanger sequences. The sequencing of the genome will allow us to understand the different metabolic routes of this symbiont, as well as possible peculiar functions. In particular it will help to understand which kind of relationship is occuring between M. mitochondrii and its host I. ricinus.

This thesis focused on the role and importance of corporate reputation within a peculiar type of enterprise, represented by public controlled societies, subject with a dual profile but of intense interest, especially following the entry into force on 23 September 2016 of Legislative Decree 19 August 2016, n. 175. In that regard, it should be noted that the term "private companies in public control" adopted as the title of this dissertation is deliberately improper. The correct locus is that of a "public-controlled company" but has been employed in order to evoke the broad formula adopted by the Italian legislator and ANAC in the Guidelines for the Implementation of Corruption and Transparency Prevention Regulations. The focus was on the Polygraphic Institute (IPZS), which, as is well-known, exclusively engages in important activities involving the primary interests of the State, from security to health protection, from anti-money laundering to the preparation of methodologies and tools for essential vigilance and control activities. The issue of corporate reputation for a firm’s success is widely accepted as a strategic, intangible asset capable of generating returns and competitive advantage. In the context of this conceptual framework, the thesis examines the process of measuring corporate reputation both from a multistakeholder perspective and from a perspective of Corruption and Trasparency Prevention Regulations adopted by IPZS. According to a stakeholder engagement approach, such actors can be classified on the basis of the extent/degree of interest nourished towards the organization – relational attitude –, with reference to the support provided to carrying out the firm’s activities, or to the role played by those part of the relational network. Therefore, from the perspective of the latter representing opportunities or threats and in consideration of attitudes which are either helpful or otherwise, potentially four sub-groups of stakeholders can be delineated. If the onus is on governance to create a balance between the needs of the various stakeholders in order to continue to produce and distribute wealth, a relevant issue in this study is that of the way to detect critical interlocutors (in terms of 5 relevance and number) from a corporate reputation perspective. The most evident advantage is that of proposing a theoretical model of analysis of corporate reputation providing precise indications of management and an operative measuring tool capable of grasping the different impressions perceived by the various stakeholders. O presente estudo tem como objeto a linguagem de canções do compositor popular brasileiro Zeca Baleiro. Consideramos sua forma híbrida por apropriar-se de materiais simbólicos de diversas procedências e temporalidades: matrizes culturais, elementos tradicionais, referenciais locais, nacionais e signos de um universo simbólico compartilhado mundialmente no espaço de fluxos globais. Por seu caráter dialógico e intertextual considerou-se nessas análises as relações entre texto (na materialidade verbal e musical) e contexto (seus significados). Nesse intuito, propusemos a experiência de articulação metodológico-analítica entre Análise dialógica do discurso baseada em Mikhail Bakhtin e Semiologia para análise da música popular de Philip Tagg. Trata-se de observar a construção de sentidos de sua linguagem poético-musical em relação a temas relevantes da cultura na contemporaneidade
The present study has as an object the language of Brazilian popular composer Zeca Baleiros songs. We consider its hybrid form of ownership of symbolic materials from different origins and time frames: cultural sources, traditional elements, local and national references and signs of a symbolic universe globally shared in the space of global flows. Because of its dialogic and intertextual aspect, it was considered, in our analysis, the relations between text (in their verbal and musical materiality) and context (their meanings). To that end, we have suggested the experience of methodological and analytical articulation between dialogic discourse analysis based on Mikhail Bakhtin and semiology to analyze the popular music by Philip Tagg. It is to observe the construction of the signification of his poetic and musical language in relation to relevant issues in contemporary culture

A grande diversidade cultural e a exuberância da natureza fazem de Roraima uma fonte de inspiração para os artistas locais, despertando neles a necessidade de cantar o seu lugar, a partir dos elementos que, na sua concepção, singularizam Roraima. Na década de 1980, a partir do Roraimeira, o uso dos elementos considerados caracterizadores da paisagem local nas artes tornou-se quase um estatuto, preocupado em reafirmar uma identidade: o ser de Roraima. Como dizem os versos da canção Boca da Mata, do compositor Neuber Uchôa, é Buriti com farinha na veia. Este ser de Roraima pode ser compreendido a partir do conceito de topofilia, utilizado por Yi-Fu Tuan (1980) para caracterizar os sentimentos de um grupo social ou cultural em relação ao lugar. Estes sentimentos topofílicos balizam, de certa forma, a poesia de Roraima, pois nela o lugar se apresenta como tecido da experiência humana, e não apenas como uma simples localização geográfica. Para as discussões acerca da constituição de uma identidade a partir das experiências com o lugar destacamos a poesia do Movimento Roraimeira, associada ao estabelecimento de uma identidade cultural roraimense, e ao qual se vincula Zeca Preto, cuja obra se constitui em nosso objeto de pesquisa. Esse cantor, compositor e poeta paraense vive em Roraima há mais de 30 anos e é um dos grandes nomes da poesia roraimense. Embora não seja nascido em Roraima, sua poesia demonstra fortes sentimentos topofílicos em relação a este lugar que ele reivindica como seu. Na produção de Zeca Preto, observa-se uma vinculação exacerbada dos textos aos elementos do cotidiano e da paisagem local, o que aponta para uma discussão acerca da busca da constituição e/ou afirmação de uma identidade cultural através da apresentação desta paisagem pelo(s) sujeito(s) poético(s). Diante disso, questionamo-nos como a expressão subjetiva se relaciona com a constituição de uma identidade roraimense na poesia topofílica de Zeca Preto, questão da qual trataremos no decorrer desta dissertação.
La gran diversidad cultural y la exuberancia de la naturaleza hacen de Roraima una fuente de inspiración para los artistas locales, despertando en ellos la necesidad de "cantar su lugar", a partir de los elementos que, en su concepción, singularizan Roraima. En la década de 1980, desde Roraimeira, el uso de los elementos considerados caracterizadores del paisaje local en las artes se ha convertido en casi un estatuto, en que se trate de reafirmar una identidad: "ser de Roraima". Como dicen los versos de la canción Boca da Mata, del compositor Neuber Uchôa es "Buriti con harina en la vena". Este "ser Roraima" puede entenderse desde el concepto de "topofilia" utilizado por Yi -Fu Tuan (1980) para caracterizar los sentimientos de un grupo social o cultural en relación al lugar. Estos "sentimientos topofílicos" marcan, en cierto modo, la poesía de Roraima, ya que se presenta en la poesía el lugar como tela de la experiencia humana, y no sólo como una mera localización geográfica. Para discusiones sobre el establecimiento de una identidad a partir de experiencias con el sitio destacamos la poesía del movimiento Roraimeira, asociada con el establecimiento de una identidad cultural roraimense, y al cuál se une Zeca Preto, cuya obra constituye el objeto de nuestra búsqueda. Este cantante, compositor y poeta paraense vive en Roraima por más de 30 años y es uno de los grandes nombres de la poesía roraimense. Aunque no nació en Roraima, su poesía demuestra fuertes sentimientos topofílicos acerca de este lugar que él reclama como suyo. En la producción de Zeca Preto, se observa una exagerada vinculación de los textos a los elementos del cotidiano y del paisaje local, lo que apunta a una discusión sobre la búsqueda de la incorporación y / o afirmación de la identidad cultural a través de la presentación de este paisaje por el (los) sujeto (s) poético (s). Por lo tanto, nos preguntamos cómo la expresión subjetiva se refiere a la creación de una "identidad roraimense " en la poesía topofílica de Zeca Preto, cuestión de qué nosotros nos ocuparemos en el curso de esta disertación.

Study about the recognition of musical elements typical of bebop and baião in Pro Zeca by Brazilian composer and saxophonist Victor Assis Brasil (1945-1981) in its leadsheets (manuscripts and transcription) and the interpretation included in the recording Victor Assis Brasil (1974). The transcription of the theme and improvisation of this historical recording (instrumentation, bass line and harmonic, melodic and rhythmic elements) was the departing point for a descriptive and comparative analysis, which also resorted to historical and theoretical references of performance practices in jazz (GRIDLEY, 2006; LAWN, 1995; HOBSBAWM, 1990, BAKER, 1987) and Brazilian music (GIFFONI, 1997; SIQUEIRA, 1981; SÉVE, 1999). The findings related to both the composition and its interpretation by Victor Assis Brasil point to a hybridization between jazz and baião, in which the characteristics of these genres sometimes remain recognizable and sometimes result in a unique synthesis. The Appendixes include five leadsheets of Pro Zeca: the composer´s manuscript, an anonymous manuscript and the transcriptions of the introduction, the theme and the improvised solo in the composer´s recording.
Estudo sobre o reconhecimento de elementos musicais característicos do bebop e do baião na obra Pro Zeca de Victor Assis Brasil (1945-1981) e sua interpretação, incluída no disco Victor Assis Brasil (1974). A transcrição do tema e improvisação nesta gravação (instrumentação, elementos melódicos, harmônicos, rítmicos e de condução de baixo) serviu de base para uma análise descritiva e comparativa, fundamentada por referenciais históricos e teóricos das práticas de performance do jazz (GRIDLEY, 2006; LAWN, 1995; HOBSBAWM, 1990, BAKER, 1987), e da música brasileira (GIFFONI, 1997; SIQUEIRA, 1981; SÉVE, 1999). Os elementos encontrados, tanto na composição quanto na interpretação de Victor Assis Brasil, apontam para o hibridismo entre o bebop e o baião, onde suas características se por vezes permanecem reconhecíveis, por vezes apresentam uma síntese. Inclui como anexos a edição de cinco leadsheets de Pro Zeca: o manuscrito do compositor, um manuscrito anônimo e as transcrições da introdução, do tema e do solo improvisado gravados pelo compositor.

O objetivo deste estudo é investigar o sentimento amoroso como objeto de representação no discurso contemporâneo da lírica do cancionista Zeca Baleiro e demonstrar de que forma a construção do conceito de amor contribuiu para a configuração de novas identidades do sujeito ao longo do tempo. A partir da análise de letras selecionadas do compositor contemporâneo, visa-se estudar os conceitos de identidade, alteridade e descentração. A escolha deste cancionista deve-se ao teor crítico na representação das relações amorosas e dos padrões de consumo da sociedade neste século XXI. Os teóricos escolhidos como referências principais são Stuart Hall, para expressar os conceitos de identidade cultural; Zygmunt Bauman, a fim de compreender como os diversos tipos de amor se manifestam no mundo contemporâneo e André Lázaro, para um breve panorama do lugar que o amor ocupa ao longo da história. Como outras fontes, destaca-se Bakhtin e seus esclarecimentos sobre a importância da alteridade na construção do imaginário e em sua revelação. Lipovetsky (analista da era em que vivemos) e Octávio Paz (mentor do lugar da forma poética na contemporaneidade) são teóricos que nos acompanham quando necessário sobre os temas fulcrais de seu pensamento. Estas considerações partem de um demonstrativo histórico das transformações do conceito de amor, desde Platão, em O banquete, até se chegar ao conceito de amor líquido, na teoria de Bauman. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The objective of this enquire is to investigate the loving feeling as object of representation in the singer Zeca Baleiro’s lyrical contemporary discourse as well to demonstrate how the construction of the concept of loving contributed to the configuration of new subject identities along with their evolving process. It is aimed to study the concepts of identity, alterity and decentering from the analysis of the contemporary composer Zeca Baleiro’s selected lyrics. The choice of this singer is due to the critical content of his engagement in the representation of the loving relationships and in the consumption pattern of the present society in the 21th century. The chosen theorists as main references of analysis are Stuart Hall, for presenting the concepts of cultural identity, Zygmunt Bauman, in order to understand how the diverse types of love are manifested in the contemporary world, and André Lázaro, for a brief panorama of the place love occupies in history. Some other author references are highlighted such as Bakhtin and these clear thoughts about the importance of alterity in the construction of imaginary and its revelations. Other references are Lipovetsky, who is an analyst of the age we live into, and Octavio Paz, who is a mentor of the poetic place in the contemporaneity. They are theorists that we have chosen as references, because this research deals with their main thoughts. These considerations are from a historic demonstration of the transformation of the concepts of love, since Plato’s Symposium to the concept of Bauman’s “liquid love”.

Ce travail est une étude des rapports entre les éléments de la poétique de Itamar Assumpção e de Zeca Baleiro d une part, et leur insertion sociale et de marchandise, d autre part. Le chemin choisi pour cette étude c est l observation et l analyse de trois procédés créatifs des deux compositeurs. Dans le premier, les chansons incorporent des vers d autre(s) poème(s), dans un processus intertextuel. Dans le second, les vers sont conçus pour être chantés, faits pour la mélodie. Dans le troisième type, la mélodie vient s ajouter à un poème déjà écrit. Ces procédés, compris dans le contexte de l industrie culturelle, font penser aux possibilités de résistance au modèle de consommation du marché. Dans l oeuvre de Itamar Assumpção e de Zeca Baleiro, le rapport achat-vente rend la monnaie en poèmes, qui indiquent des alternatives et des chemins (―rues viaducs avenues‖) de circulation artistique. Este trabalho é um estudo das relações entre elementos da poética de Itamar Assumpção e de Zeca Baleiro e sua inserção social e mercadológica. O caminho escolhido para este estudo é a observação e análise de três procedimentos criativos dos dois compositores. No primeiro, as canções incorporam versos de outro(s) poema(s), em processo intertextual. No segundo, os versos são compostos para serem cantados, feitos para a melodia. Já o terceiro tipo acontece quando a melodia surge para o poema escrito. Tais procedimentos, compreendidos no contexto da indústria cultural, ajudam-nos a pensar as possibilidades de resistência ao modelo consumista do mercado. Nas obras de Itamar Assumpção e Zeca Baleiro, a relação de compra e venda traz o troco em poemas, que apontam alternativas e caminhos de circulação artística. O produto-arte à margem da margem, ainda que inserido no mercado, não se submete às suas ordens de padronização estética e se afirma como invenção e resistência ativa.

AbstractMany attempts have been made to introduce robotics into curricular activities, although these have largely been occasional and discontinuous experiences. These experiments are often organized to teach specific know-how, enormously devaluating the technology’s potential. Furthermore, they might be placed in the hands of experts who are not on the school’s staff, and who conduct the entire project mostly without the involvement of teachers. Our research project is directed at lower secondary schools. Our aim is to try to move past the dictates of “teaching robotics” towards the less controversial vision of “teaching with robotics”. Following the lead of Datteri and Zecca (Metodi e tecnologie per l’uso educativo e didattico dei robot. Mondo digitale 75, editorial (2018)) we propose robots as a mediation instrument for normal learning and for transversal competencies in the school setting. The proposed research is a three-year program within the host school’s normal curricular subjects and timetable, in which our approach facilitates the learning process. The topics extend beyond coding, robotics, and STEAM in general, and aim to improve experiences in liberal arts subjects such as language, literature, and geohistory.
